  • Thibodeau says Mirotic a 'situational player'
Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau said that Nikola Mirotic will be a "situational player" for Chicago's second-round series against Cleveland.

Advice: Mirotic only left the bench for two minutes during Game 1, and it sounds like unless there's a major injury to the Bulls frontcourt, he's not going to be a steady rotation player during Chicago's second-round series. Those playing daily leagues should probably avoid playing Mirotic. Rotoworld.com

  • Derrick Rose will play Game 2 on Wednesday
Derrick Rose (shoulder) will play in Game 2 against the Cavaliers on Wednesday.

Advice: Rose's status was never really in doubt after he suffered a shoulder stinger during Monday's Game 1 win, but it's nice to get early confirmation that he'll be able to play. Rose has had a strong showing thus far in the playoffs and should be started in all playoff fantasy games as long as he's healthy. Rotoworld.com

  • Ognjen Kuzmic out for Game 2 vs Grizzlies
Ognjen Kuzmic (ankle) has been ruled out for Game 2 against the Grizzlies on Thursday.

Advice: Kuzmic isn't part of the Warriors playoff rotation, so this isn't a huge blow to the Western Conference's top seed. Draymond Green has been playing huge minutes for the Warriors and will continue to do so with or without Kuzmic. Rotoworld.com

  • Austin Rivers says he can run sets Paul can't
Austin Rivers said there are sets he can run that Chris Paul can't and vice versa.

Advice: "I can’t run the same sets he does and there are sets that I run that he can’t run," Rivers said. While Rivers scored 17 points to go along with one rebound, three assists, four steals, and four three-pointers in Monday's Game 1 win over the Rockets, he's also saying he can do things that a top-5 MVP candidate can't. We'll just let the quote speak for itself. Rotoworld.com

  • Derrick Rose not worried about shoulder
Derrick Rose said he isn't worried about the shoulder injury he suffered during Monday's Game 1 win over the Cavaliers.

Advice: Rose suffered a shoulder stinger towards the end of the game, but was able to walk it off and didn't sound too worried after the game. "It was a stinger; my first time ever," Rose said. "It went away within 5,10 minutes. It’s something I’m not worried about." Rose had a fantastic Game 1 in scoring 25 points with five rebounds, five assists, one steal, and three 3-pointers and Bulls fans can breathe a sign of relief as it sounds like he'll be just fine for Wednesday's Game 2. • Chandler Parsons reveals recruiting pitch
Chandler Parsons (knee) revealed parts of the recruiting pitch that he will use to attempt to lure fellow players to the Mavericks this offseason.

Advice: Parsons had previously said he wants to help attract free agents to Dallas and is "shifting into GM mode." Following arthroscopic knee surgery, Parsons revealed parts of his pitch. "We have a great organization," he said. "We have high expectations. We have the best owner in sports. We’re definitely moving in the right direction, and we have a lot of pieces that would fit well with the free agents out there right now. And we have a great coach, so I think we’re moving in the right direction. We’re a championship-caliber team." Whether Parsons is successful in his recruiting remains to be seen, but he'll have plenty of targets this summer, including LaMarcus Aldridge, Marc Gasol, and potentially Kevin Love. Rotoworld.com

  • Spurs looking to trade Tiago Splitter?
The Spurs could look to deal Tiago Splitter in an effort to secure more cap space, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.

Advice: Tiago has two years left and $16.8 million on his contract, so the Spurs could elect to create some cap space to re-sign Kawhi Leonard and pursue other free agents (like LaMarcus Aldridge) by dealing the big man. Splitter averaged 8.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.7 blocks in 52 games this season and his fantasy value would benefit from a change of scenery where he would theoretically see more than 19.8 minutes per game. • Barnes all over the court in Clippers win
Matt Barnes was everywhere in the Clippers' Game 1 win over the Rockets on Monday, scoring 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting (including three treys) with five rebounds, three assists, four steals and two blocks in 42 minutes.

Advice: Barnes is a guy that the Clippers would love to rest up in a short series, but for now he's going to be a workhorse and especially while Chris Paul (hamstring) is out. The Rockets didn't exert any of their will on tonight's game and if they have any life in them this type of upside could vanish pretty quickly, and most certainly will when Paul returns. • Austin powers the Clippers, at least a little
Austin Rivers started for injured Chris Paul (hamstring) and scored 17 points on 5-of-12 shooting (including four threes) with one rebound, three assists and four steals in Monday's Game 1 win over the Rockets.

Advice: Let's be clear, he had more bad plays than we could count and was a sieve defensively, but he buried open threes and the Rockets were their own brand of terrible. If Paul can't go in Game 2 (or Doc Rivers thinks he can win one without him), then this would be Rivers' high-water mark. Rotoworld.com

  • Crawford goes big with 21-5-4 in Game 1 win
Jamal Crawford stepped up with Chris Paul (hamstring) out for Monday's Game 1 win over the Rockets, scoring 21 points on 8-of-18 shooting (including three treys) with five rebounds, four assists and two steals in 32 minutes.

Advice: Crawford showed a tiny bit more explosion than he had in the Spurs series and he's the team's primary ballhandler with Paul out so the numbers will be there if that's the case in Game 2. He had six turnovers but that's a tradeoff owners will take here. Rotoworld.com

  • Shumpert scores 22 points with four treys
Iman Shumpert hit 8-of-17 shots (4-of-10 3PTs) with one rebound, one assist and one steal over 41 minutes in Monday's Game 1 loss to the Bulls.

Advice: Shumpert has stepped right into J.R. Smith's (suspension) role and he'll get another crack at it in Game 2. Once Smith returns look for his minutes to fall down into low 30s or high 20s, and he might get some added consideration if the Bulls backcourt stays hot throughout the series. Rotoworld.com

  • Rose + Butler lead balanced effort in G1 win
Derrick Rose scored 25 points on 11-of-26 shooting (including three treys) with five rebounds, five assists and one steal in Monday's Game 1 win over the Cavs.

Advice: Rose looked like he may have hurt his shoulder seriously at the end of the game but all reports since then have indicated the issue was minor. Jimmy Butler was the more important and better player for the Bulls, but Rose is the player that will swing this series one way or another so Chicago fans have to love the solid outing. Coming off two days' worth of rest, he hasn't been anywhere near as good with the one day he'll get before Wednesday's Game 2. Rotoworld.com

  • Mirotic sees just two minutes of playing time
Nikola Mirotic played just two minutes in Monday's Game 1 win over the Cavs.

Advice: Joakim Noah didn't look great and Mirotic's absence from this game would have certainly been second guessed if the Bulls had lost. The rookie has never truly had Tom Thibodeau's trust in terms of playing time, so barring a report to suggest otherwise we'd recommend avoiding him in DFS formats. Rotoworld.com

  • Brooks plays just nine minutes in Game 1
Aaron Brooks played just nine minutes in Monday's Game 1 win over the Cavs.

Advice: Derrick Rose got dinged with a seemingly minor shoulder injury and Jimmy Butler played through an ankle tweak tonight, but barring a major change of events owners need to look at Brooks skeptically in terms of playing time. Tom Thibodeau has shortened his rotation and he's on the outside looking in. Rotoworld.com

  • Austin Rivers starting for LAC in Game 1
Austin Rivers will start for injured Chris Paul (hamstring) in Monday's Game 1 opener against the Rockets.

Advice: Rivers won't face an impact defender and he'll have quite a bit of playing time to put points on the board, but look for the offense to be run through Blake Griffin, Jamal Crawford, J.J. Redick and Matt Barnes. Rotoworld.com

  • Report: Shumpert and Miller will start
Iman Shumpert and Mike Miller will start against the Bulls on Monday, according to Chris Haynes of the Plain Dealer.

Advice: It's not a surprise whatsoever to see Miller get the start over Tristan Thompson. LeBron James played a lot of power forward in Game 4 against the Celtics, so expect that to continue going forward. Shumpert will get minutes, but his usage rate will be very tiny in the next two games. Miller is not a great fantasy option either. With Love out, the biggest beneficiary might be Kyrie Irving. • Report: J.J. Barea hoping for $3M annually
J.J. Barea is hoping to sign with the Mavs on a multi-year deal that pays $3 million annually, a source told ESPN Dallas.

Advice: Barea said it would be easier for the Mavs to keep him this time, and that translates to the fact that Dallas won't have to overpay him to keep him now that his free-agent stock is significantly lower. It would be a surprise if Barea got more than a two-year offer from any team, including Dallas, so he may have to be a little more realistic about his contract desires. Rotoworld.com

  • Jerel McNeal to play summer league w/ Suns
Jerel McNeal is expected to play in summer league with the Suns.

Advice: "I'll probably end up doing Summer League with Phoenix and just use that as another opportunity to show what I can do and go do what the coaching staff asks. Alan Crabbe's contract for next season with the Blazers is non-guaranteed.

Advice: Although Crabbe is expected to play in summer league for the Blazers, it's not clear if he'll be on the roster next season. He's been a mostly disappointing player at the pro level, but he hasn't really received an extended opportunity to showcase his skills, either. Rotoworld.com

Advice: "I'm free, so..." he said. "I would love to stay in Brooklyn, but I am a free agent. So I will be free." Anderson should have no problem clearing offers north of $3M annually, more than twice what he made in 2014-15. We don't expect him back with the Nets. Rotoworld.com

  • James Young expected to play in summer league
James Young is expected to play in summer league for the Celtics.

Advice: The C's other first-round pick this season was barely a blip on the radar screen in his inaugural campaign. Young is still incredibly raw and needs to spend extended time in the weight room before he's capable of making a real impact. Marcus Smart is expected to join him in the action in order to get increased reps at point guard. Rotoworld.com

  • Iman Shumpert to start w/ JR Smith suspended
With J.R. Smith serving a two-game suspension, Iman Shumpert is expected to start at shooting guard for Monday's Game 1 vs. the Bulls.

Advice: "I think I’ll get more opportunities just playing more minutes," Shumpert said. "But as far as going in with a different mindset, it’s not like I’m going to transform into J.R. for the team." The Cavs are very short-handed with Smith out two games and Kevin Love (shoulder) done for the playoffs, so in addition to Shump they'll need more production from Tristan Thompson, James Jones, Matthew Dellavedova and possibly Shawn Marion or Mike Miller. • J.J. Barea hopes to return to Dallas
J.J. Barea is hoping that he will be a member of the Dallas Mavericks next season.

Advice: "I want to," Barea said when asked if he wanted to return to Dallas. "I want to and hopefully this time we make it work. I had a lot of fun this year. I enjoyed being back. It feels like home for me here in Dallas so hopefully I can come back and finish my career here for the next couple years." Barea wasn't a big part of the rotation this season and averaged just 17.7 minutes per game, so he won't be a target in fantasy leagues regardless of where he lands in free agency. Rotoworld.com

Ognjen Kuzmic sprained his ankle and will be re-evaluated in one week.

Alan Anderson expects to opt out of his player option in favor of free agency this summer.

Advice: The 32-year-old swingman shot 34.8 percent from downtown this season and became a reliable rotation player for Lionel Hollins, though he was little more than a 3-point specialist in fantasy leagues. Chandler Parsons (knee) had arthroscopic knee surgery on Friday morning.

Advice: This is good news that he didn't have microfracture surgery. The Mavs did not give a timetable for his recovery, but generally knee scopes require 4-6 weeks off. • Derrick Rose scores 15 in 25 minutes
Derrick Rose scored 15 points with five rebounds, seven assists, one steal and three 3-pointers during a 120-66 win over the Bucks on Thursday.

Advice: It's the third largest victory in playoff history and this game was over in the second quarter. Rose was on the stationary bike during the game today. Interestingly, he was still in the game when the Bulls were up by more than 40 points. An interesting trend so far in the playoffs for Rose is that he's been much better when he had two days off (like today) opposed to one day off. The Bulls will take on the Cavs in Cleveland on Monday. Rotoworld.com

  • Nikola Mirotic gets bumped from rotation
Nikola Mirotic played eight minutes against the Bucks on Thursday with two points, four boards and one assist.

Advice: The Bulls were on fire in the first half, so Mirotic was basically left out of the rotation tonight. He continues to struggle at small forward and that is the big reason why he's seen his playing time fall off. Mirotic played 19.5 minutes per game in his previous two games and he didn't even check in tonight until the Bulls were up 34 points. Rotoworld.com

Allen Crabbe said he is planning to play in Las Vegas Summer League in July.

Advice: He was in Vegas last year and only scored 5.6 points per game because it was C.J. McCollum doing most of the damage. Crabbe still has a lot to learn as a scorer outside of just sitting on the 3-point line and that will likely be his focus. Rotoworld.com

Chandler Parsons said he's ready to take on a recruiting role to help attract free agents to Dallas.

Advice: While Parsons is likely to have knee surgery over the offseason, he's not letting that stop him from heading up the Mavs' recruiting efforts. "I’m officially shifting into GM mode," he said. "I have great relationships with a lot of guys that are out there. I have a great relationship with a lot of guys that are currently on our team, so as a guy that will be here for a while and as one of the key guys going forward I will definitely be talking to management. • Chandler Parsons (knee) set for a larger role?
Chandler Parsons (knee) said that he expects to have a larger role next season.

Advice: Parsons had a decent year with the Mavericks, posting averages of 15.7 points, 4.9 boards, 2.4 assists, 1.0 steal and 2.0 3-pointers per game. However, his knee is still going to require surgery in the offseason, and if he missed the start of training camp or more it could really slow him down to start the season. Doctors won't know exactly what's wrong with his knee until he has the procedure, so we would expect a firm timetable after the surgery. As always, we will continue to track his progress closely. • Tiago Splitter struggles in nine minutes Tues
Tiago Splitter played only nine minutes on Tuesday despite starting both the first and third quarter, and he spent most of the game with a large wrap around his right calf.

Advice: Splitter is obviously struggling with lower-body injuries and the Spurs may only be using him to buy some time (and fouls) before deploying Aron Baynes and Matt Bonner at center, while rotating in Tim Duncan with smaller lineups. The Spurs owe Splitter a guaranteed $16.8 million over the next two seasons, so they wouldn't be playing him if there was a heightened risk of long-term injury. Rotoworld.com

Matt Barnes (shoulder) had seven points, one 3-pointer, six rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 28 minutes on Tuesday, as the Clippers lost Game 5 by a final score of 107-111.

Advice: Barnes' mildly sprained rotator cuff didn't seem to bother him tonight, and his playing time was mostly limited due to Doc Rivers' decision to roll with Jamal Crawford for longer stretches. Barnes was guilty of failing to box out during a missed free throw at the end of the game, essentially sealing the Spurs' win with an offensive board, but that shouldn't affect his role during Thursday's potential elimination game. J.J. Barea started again on Tuesday and had six points, six rebounds, nine assists and two steals in 37 minutes, shooting just 3-of-12 from the field as the Mavs were eliminated by the Rockets.

Advice: Barea came into Game 5 with the third-best +/- rating in the playoffs -- at an impressive +12.5 per game, he was tied with Stephen Curry and trailed only Draymond Green (+19.3). • Chandler Parsons hoping to avoid surgery
Chandler Parsons (knee) has delayed surgery until the Mavs' playoff run is over.

Advice: Parsons said he’s delaying surgery on his right knee and added that he and doctors won’t know exactly what’s wrong with the knee until he has the procedure. The 26-year-old has been getting multiple medical opinions on his injured knee and one of the options is microfracture surgery. "There’s a lot of opinions and a lot of different things out there, but really the doctors won’t know anything until they open me up," Parsons said. "So I’m not going to say something is going to happen or not happen and then be wrong. I really won’t know until they open me up." Derrick Rose struggled for a second consecutive game against the Bucks on Monday, making 5-of-20 from the field for 13 points with four rebounds, two assists, one steal and six turnovers.

Advice: He missed all seven attempts from deep and coach Tom Thibodeau will probably have a word with Rose to relax on those attempts. The Bulls made just 7-of-30 (23.3 percent) in the fourth quarter and only had seven fast-break points in the entire game. Advice: Splitter was quickly benched in the fourth quarter after failing to box out Chris Paul for a rebound, and he's been a non-factor vs. the Clippers' frontcourt. Whether due to a lingering calf injury, the matchup with DeAndre Jordan or both, in the past four games Splitter is averaging 2.0 points on 23.1 percent shooting, 4.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists. Matt Barnes was hampered by fouls and a shoulder injury throughout Sunday's game, which he finished with only four points on 2-of-8 shooting, two rebounds, two assists and one steal.

Advice: The bright side for L.A. is that Austin Rivers, Jamal Crawford and Glen Davis all played very well for the Clippers' much-maligned bench unit, contributing to an impressive 114-105 win in San Antonio. Barnes has been struggling to score this series (5.2 points per game on 28.6 percent shooting) but his versatility and infectious energy are key to the Clippers' success. He vowed to play in Game 5 despite dealing with a strained rotator cuff. Rotoworld.com

  • Austin Rivers erupts for 16 points in 17 mins
Austin Rivers was fantastic for the Clippers during their Game 4 win over the Spurs on Sunday, scoring 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting through just 17 minutes of action.

Advice: As per usual, Rivers didn't do much aside from score (one assist, one steal, and one turnover), but he did give the Clippers' bench a major lift, and he was a big part of LA's win today. Rivers has actually been coming on for the Clippers lately, scoring in double figures in his last two outings, but he's still not much of a fantasy option as scoring is his only asset. It'll be very interesting to see if he can have a repeat performance during Game 5 on Tuesday. Rotoworld.com

  • Iman Shumpert plays well through 38 minutes
Iman Shumpert played well during his 38 minutes of action as the Cavs' swept their first-round series against the Celtics on Sunday, scoring 15 points while grabbing 10 rebounds.

Advice: J.R. Smith was ejected from Sunday's game for elbowing Jae Crowder in the face, and there's really no way he doesn't get a suspension from the league. Shumpert was the first one off the bench when Smith was ejected, and his 38 minutes would suggest that he's going to be the primary beneficiary with Smith unavailable. He added one 3-pointer, two steals and three blocks to his stat line tonight, shooting 3-of-4 from the field and knocking down all eight of this free throw attempts. He could be make for a quality plug-and-play option in daily leagues while Smith serves his suspension. Rotoworld.com

  • Nikola Mirotic (knee) probable for Game 5
Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau said that everyone came out of Game 4 fine health wise, and Nikola Mirotic (knee) "should be good" for Game 5 on Monday.

Advice: Mirotic didn't play very well in his return to action on Saturday, scoring just five points with one rebound, two assists, two steals and one 3-pointer through 20 minutes of action. The minutes, however, were encouraging and we'd expect him to pick up his play on Monday. Rotoworld.com

  • Derrick Rose apologizes to his teammates
Derrick Rose took the blame for Chicago's Game 4 loss to the Bucks on Saturday after he allowed Jerryd Bayless to have an open layup under the basket in the closing seconds of the game.

Advice: "I put that all on me," Rose said. "I wasn't paying attention. I don't feel bad for myself, I feel bad for my teammates. Knowing that we could've forced overtime. I messed things up, but I swear I'm good for it." Rose was pretty reckless throughout the game and finished with eight turnovers to go with his 14 points, five boards, six assists, one steal, one block and two 3-pointers. The Bulls lead the Bucks 3-1, but Rose is going to have to step it up before Milwaukee gains any more momentum Rotoworld.com

  • Nikola Mirotic (knee) holds up well Saturday
Nikola Mirotic (knee) said that he wasn't 100 percent in Game 4 against the Bucks on Saturday, but he is happy with the way his body held up.

Advice: Mirotic was held out of Game 3 and it looked like he was going to spend some quality time on the shelf, so it was definitely surprising to see him return so soon. He didn't play very well on Saturday as he scored just five points with one rebound, two assists, two steals and one 3-pointer, but the good news is that it looks like he will be fine moving forward. Expect a better performance in Game 5 on Monday. Rotoworld.com

  • Nikola Mirotic (knee) plays 20 minutes
Nikola Mirotic returned from a one-game absence and played 20 minutes against the Bucks on Saturday, making 2-of-7 from the field for five points with one rebound, two assists, two steals and one 3-pointer.

Advice: He played most of his minutes at small forward, which continues to be a problem area for him. Mirotic has made just 33.3 percent from the field in the playoffs and is scoring just 6.0 points per game. The good news is that he didn't look hurt today. Rotoworld.com

  • Derrick Rose struggles, turns it over 8 times
Derrick Rose couldn't keep his momentum going on Saturday against the Bucks, making 5-of-13 from the field for 14 points with five rebounds, six assists, one steal, one block, two 3-pointers and eight turnovers.

Advice: He also turned the ball over on the Bulls' last possession and fell asleep on the last play of the game to give up an easy basket to Jerryd Bayless at the buzzer. Rose still had his explosion, but he was careless with his ball handling and shot selection. He didn't quite undo his progress coming from the 34-point game on Thursday, but this game was pretty bad. We'll see what happens on Monday at home. Rotoworld.com

  • Nikola Mirotic (knee) will play on Saturday
Nikola Mirotic (knee) will play against the Bucks on Saturday.

Advice: He went through a warmup session and was moving around pretty well. This comes as a surprise because Mirotic didn't even run at practice on Friday. Since Derrick Rose has been back and Joakim Noah was active, most of Mirotic's minutes have been at small forward during the regular season, but he's shifted to the four more in the postseason. He'll take away some playing time from Tony Snell and Taj Gibson. Rotoworld.com

  • Chandler Parsons doing light work at practice
Chandler Parsons (knee) was seen going through a light workout at practice on Saturday, though he remains out for the playoffs.

Advice: While there is no tear or structural damage to his right knee, he will have to undergo surgery and a timetable for his return will not be set until after the procedure. We will continue to track his progress closely, but it's encouraging to see him move around at practice. Richard Jefferson (calf) will likely continue to start if he is able to play, but Al-Farouq Aminu will likely be the primary beneficiary. Rotoworld.com
