    • Shams: MIA to sign Bam Adebayo to 3-year extension
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Heat will sign Bam Adebayo to a three-year, $166 million extension on July 6.

Advice: Adebayo is viewed as a franchise cornerstone in Miami, and the Heat will pay him accordingly. Per the new league rules, teams can negotiate with their players, who will either be free agents or extension-eligible beginning the day after the conclusion of the NBA Finals. Adebayo has been one of the best defenders in the NBA and stands to be once again a safe third-round pick in standard league fantasy drafts. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:48 am
    • To sign three-year extension
Adebayo intends to sign a three-year extension with the Heat, Tim Reynolds of Associated Press reported Wednesday.

Advice: The extension will be worth $166 million, per Shams Charania of The Athletic, and keep Adebayo in Miami through the 2028-29 campaign. Adebayo is a three-time All-Star and was named to the All-Defensive First Team last season. He averaged 19.3 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.9 blocks in 34.0 minutes per game across 71 regular-season appearances in 2023-24. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:40 am
    • Expected to play in exhibition
Doncic (ankle/knee/chest) is expected to play in Slovenia's exhibition against Brazil on Friday, Grant Afseth of SI.com reports.

Advice: Slovenia's roster hasn't been finalized, so Doncic's availability hasn't been confirmed. However, the NBA superstar is expected to play after sitting out a match against Lithuania on Tuesday. Friday's game is Slovenia's final preparation before the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Greece, which starts July 2. Doncic dealt with multiple injuries during Dallas' run to the NBA Finals, so Slovenia is expected to monitor his workload during the Olympics. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:45 am
    • Luka Doncic expected to play in Olympic qualifiers
Mavericks GM Nico Harrison said on Friday that he expects Luka Doncic to play for Slovenia in the nation’s upcoming Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

Advice: While he was banged up during the Mavericks’ run to the NBA Finals, it takes a lot for Doncic to pass up on an opportunity to represent his country. Slovenia is playing in one of four Olympic Qualifying Tournaments, with play scheduled for July 2. Harrison said he expects the Mavericks’ star point guard to play “as long as he can walk.” Doncic played in the FIBA World Cup last summer, so advancing to the Paris Olympics would mean another “offseason” with limited rest. • Leads all scorers in Finals series
Doncic ended Monday's 106-88 loss to the Celtics in Game 5 of the NBA Finals with 28 points (12-25 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 2-5 FT), 12 rebounds, five assists and three steals across 43 minutes.

Advice: Despite losing the series 4-1, Doncic was spectacular for the Mavericks in the NBA Finals. The five-time All-Star dealt with a litany of injuries throughout the playoffs, including a thoracic contusion, a right knee sprain and left ankle soreness, but still led all players in scoring in the Finals. Across five NBA Finals games, Doncic averaged 29.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 2.6 steals while shooting 47.2 percent from the field. The 25-year-old did struggle from deep, shooting only 24.4 percent, and he was also seen as a defensive liability at times. However, Doncic and the Mavericks will look to build off their strong season and run it back next year, as he now has NBA Finals experience under his belt. Rotowire.com Monday, 9:58 pm
    • Double-double in Game 5 win
Holiday logged 15 points (7-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt), 11 rebounds, four assists and one block in 43 minutes during Monday's 106-88 victory over the Mavericks in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

Advice: Holiday was incredible for the Celtics in five NBA Finals games, averaging 14.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.6 blocks while shooting 45.5 percent from the field. The 34-year-old proved to be a crucial addition to the Celtics winning title No. 18 -- it was also Holiday's second NBA Championship in just four years. The defensive mastermind averaged 13.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.6 blocks while shooting 50.3 percent from the field across 19 playoff games. Rotowire.com Monday, 9:13 pm
    • Takes home NBA Finals MVP
Brown had 21 points (7-23 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 5-6 FT), eight rebounds, six assists and two steals across 44 minutes during Monday's 106-88 victory over Dallas in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

Advice: Brown won the Bill Russell NBA Finals MVP award after averaging a well-rounded 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.8 blocks across five NBA Finals games. The three-time All-Star helped lead the team to title No. 18 after a dominant season, during which the Celtics boasted the best record in the league. Brown was a force in the 2023-24 playoffs, averaging 23.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.6 blocks while shooting an extremely efficient 51.6 percent across 19 games. The Celtics will look to run it back next season with Brown and Jayson Tatum at the helm. Rotowire.com Monday, 9:11 pm
    • Luka Doncic posts 28/12/5/3 line in Game 5 loss
Luka Doncic accounted for 28 points (12-of-25 FGs, 2-of-5 FTs), 12 rebounds, five assists, three steals, and two 3-pointers in 43 minutes in Monday’s 106-88 loss to the Celtics.

Advice: While Doncic recorded his second double-double of the NBA Finals on Monday, efficiency was a concern for the Mavericks star. He struggled at the foul line and also committed a game-high seven turnovers. Luka’s play wasn’t the only reason Dallas fell in Game 5, but Dallas’ margin for error is slim when one of its stars struggles. However, he made history, becoming the first player in the NBA to lead all players in postseason points, rebounds, assists, and steals. Expected by fantasy managers to be a top 5 player based upon his Yahoo ADP (2.7), Doncic lived up to that in 2023-24. Appearing in 70 regular season games, he was a top 5 player in 8- and 9-cat per-game value and totals. While Doncic wasn’t fully healthy when the season began due to a lingering leg injury, playing at the FIBA World Cup last summer ensured he joined the Mavericks in better shape than in previous seasons. A final decision has not been made regarding Luka’s availability for the upcoming Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Greece that Slovenia will participate in; his health will dictate the decision. Regardless of his status, fantasy managers should expect another elite season from Doncic in 2024-25. Rotoworld Monday, 8:45 pm
    • Jrue Holiday grabs 11 rebounds in title clincher
Jrue Holiday finished Monday’s 106-88 win over the Mavericks with 15 points (7-of-14 FGs), 11 rebounds, four assists, one block, and one 3-pointer in 43 minutes.

Advice: The Celtics wrapped up their 18th NBA title on Monday, and the win was lucrative for Holiday. The veteran guard earned a bonus worth nearly $1.265 million and recorded a double-double while doing so. Traded to the Celtics just before the start of training camp, Holiday’s fantasy value took a hit this season. However, ranking just outside the top 75 in 9-cat formats (and just inside that threshold in 8-cat), it isn’t like his production fell off a cliff. Holiday’s averages remained consistent outside of points and assists compared to his 2022-23 season with the Bucks. The veteran guard agreed to a four-year extension (player option for Year 4) in April, so his immediate future in Boston is secure. Holiday should once again be a top 75 fantasy player.
