Jaime Jaquez Jr. scores 21 points in rout of Bulls
Jaime Jaquez Jr. played 35 minutes in Friday’s 112-91 win over the Bulls, accumulating 21 points (8-of-16 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), six rebounds, six assists, and one 3-pointer.
Advice: Jaquez moved into the starting lineup for Friday’s do-or-die game, filling in admirably for the injured Jimmy Butler (knee). The rookie forward has been one of the best first-year players in the NBA this season, with the versatility shining more often than not. Butler will be sidelined for a few weeks, and it’s unknown when Terry Rozier (neck) will return, meaning the Heat will need more production from Jaquez as they advance to take on the Celtics in the first round. Game 1 is on Sunday afternoon in Boston.
