    • Ryan Kelly flops in another start for Lakers
Ryan Kelly's third straight start at SF for the Lakers was a dud, as he scored just one point with two rebounds and no other statistics in 20 minutes of action.

Advice: Kelly was 0-of-3 from the field and 1-of-2 at the free throw line. Lakers coach Byron Scott has given no indication that he'll replace Kelly with Wes Johnson or Nick Young in the near future, but Kelly's lack of production gives fantasy owners no incentive to pick him up in typical leagues. • Nene quiet in surprisingly close win vs. L.A.
Nene had a quiet game vs. the Lakers on Tuesday with six points, six rebounds, two assists, one steal and two turnovers in 26 minutes.

Advice: He's averaging a mediocre 13.1 points and 5.3 boards in 26 minutes since Dec. 31, but the bigger issue is his injury history -- Nene has missed 33.0 percent of his games over the past three seasons. Backup PF/C Kris Humphries has been terrific for two straight games and Nene's owners shouldn't rely on more than top-100 value going forward. Rotoworld.com

    • Martell Webster leaves w/ right knee injury
Martell Webster exited Tuesday's game with a right knee injury after colliding with Jeremy Lin.

Advice: He tried to walk off the injury and stay in the game but Washington's training staff thought better, pulling him off the court and into the locker room. Webster does not have a history of knee injuries and may have suffered nothing more severe than a stinger, but we'll update his status once more details surface. Rotoworld.com

    • Kyrie Irving drops 38 points against Pistons
Kyrie Irving matched his season-high of 38 points in a win over the Pistons on Tuesday, adding six assists, three boards, three steals, one block and six 3-pointers in 42 minutes.

Advice: The six 3-pointers were also a season-high, and his owners have got to be thrilled with this line. Irving has been an elite fantasy asset this season, and one of the main reasons why is because he has only missed a total of three games. If he continues to stay healthy, there is no reason to think that his numbers won't continue to improve as the Cavs try to surge up the standings in the Eastern Conference. Rotoworld.com

    • Kevin Love scores just seven points in win
Kevin Love scored just seven points on 3-of-11 shooting in a win over the Pistons on Tuesday, adding eight boards, four assists and one 3-pointer in 32 minutes.

Advice: He reportedly experienced some dizzy spells during Sunday's game against the Thunder, so there is a strong chance that he wasn't at 100 percent tonight. We will update his status if any new developments occur, but it doesn't appear that he will miss any time. This was his seventh game of the season in which he failed to score in double digits, so his owners can only hope that Love starts to turn things around soon. Rotoworld.com

    • Andrew Bogut benched last-minute on Tuesday
Andrew Bogut was scratched from the starting lineup at the last minute on Tuesday due to flu-like symptoms, shifting Marreese Speights into the Warriors' starting lineup.

Advice: Bogut was actually announced with the starters so this is terrible news for any owners who had him active in lineups. We will go ahead and consider Bogut questionable for Friday's game against Utah, but he should have plenty of time to recover for that one. Rotoworld.com

    • LeBron James tweaks wrist in win over Pistons
LeBron James tweaked his wrist on Tuesday vs. the Pistons, but remained in the game to the tune of 32 points, seven assists, six boards and one steal in 36 minutes to lead the Cavaliers to their seventh straight win.

Advice: He landed on his wrist awkwardly and immediately grasped at it in pain, but he said after the game that it was simply a "stinger" so he shouldn't be in danger of missing any time. The Cavaliers are much more aggressive when James is on the floor and his return from knee and back soreness earlier this month has helped them pick up some serious steam in the Eastern Conference. Expect him to keep up his torrid pace on Wednesday vs. Portland. Rotoworld.com

    • Hassan Whiteside double-doubles w/ 16 & 16
Hassan Whiteside started Tuesday's game with Chris Anderson (elbow) unavailable, scoring 16 points with 16 rebounds, one assist, one steal and zero blocks in a season-high 36 minutes.

Advice: He received some amusing 'MVP' chants from the adoring home crowd and continues to make his mark on the NBA after years of obscurity, making Whiteside one of the best stories in the league this season. Miami is firmly committed to his season-long development and fantasy owners have to be thrilled with his playing time tonight -- unlike some other young centers like Jusuf Nurkic, Whiteside could temper his fouls enough to hold down heavy minutes. • D.J. Augustin stays hot with 19 points
D.J. Augustin had another solid game as the starting point guard for Detroit on Tuesday, scoring 19 points with nine assists, four boards, two steals and three 3-pointers in 36 minutes.

Advice: He is coming off a career-high 35-point game on Sunday, so it looks like it's safe to assume that he will be a must-own player for the rest of the season. Even if the Pistons bring in a third point guard, Augustin will likely have no serious competition for the starting job and should maintain value as the season progresses. Congrats are in order if you were able to pluck him off the waiver wire. Rotoworld.com

    • Danny Granger scores 14 pts in fill-in start
Danny Granger knocked down his 1,000th career 3-pointer while starting in place of Luol Deng (calf) on Tuesday, finishing with 14 points, six rebounds, two assists and one steal in 36 minutes.

Advice: The minutes were easily a season-high and Granger is an uninspiring option even when Deng is on the sidelines. He picked up a DNP-CD in Miami's last game and the only positive for deep-league owners is that he's been able to stay healthy for most of the season. That said, he's worth at least considering if Deng and Dwyane Wade (hammy) are both ruled out for Friday's game vs. the Mavs. Rotoworld.com

    • Kirk Hinrich starting on Tuesday vs. Warriors
Kirk Hinrich will draw the start in place of Jimmy Butler (illness) for Tuesday's game vs. the Warriors.

Advice: Butler should be fine with a little rest, so Hinrich will shift back to the bench as soon as Butler returns. If you combine that with the fact that Hinrich's game doesn't translate to fantasy very well, it's safe to leave him on the wire in all but the deepest of leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Zaza Pachulia quiet in road win vs. Miami
Zaza Pachulia was conspicuously quiet on Tuesday, scoring four points with five rebounds, one assist and one steal in 21 minutes in a win vs. Miami.

Advice: The 30-year-old Pachulia wasn't faring well vs. the length and athleticism of Hassan Whiteside, so coach Jason Kidd opted for a smaller lineup with an emphasis on the second unit. Pachulia is averaging 10.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 0.9 steals over the past month, and remains a decent low-end center with Larry Sanders' return up in the air. Rotoworld.com

    • Greg Monroe double-doubles in loss to Cavs
Greg Monroe double-doubled in a loss to the Cavaliers on Tuesday, finishing with 17 points and 12 boards in 32 minutes.

Advice: He has been fantastic for the Pistons since the release of Josh Smith, and his role will only grow on offense now that Brandon Jennings (Achilles) is on the shelf. Monroe will never overwhelm his owners with defensive stats, but he is a strong bet for a double-double every time he touches the floor. Monroe will remain a must-start option in all leagues for the rest of the way. Rotoworld.com
      Today, 7:04 pm
    • Greivis Vasquez quiet in 28 minutes vs Pacers
Greivis Vasquez played 28 minutes on Tuesday but had only seven points, four rebounds and four assists in the Raptors' 104-91 victory.

Advice: He shot 2-of-6 from the field and has taken more than 10 shots just three times in January. DeMar DeRozan's return has ensured that Vasquez's usage rate won't improve despite his newly-minted starting job. Consider him a low-end option who can help with 3-pointers and assists, but little else. Rotoworld.com

    • Patrick Patterson chips in across the board
Patrick Patterson quietly filled up the stat sheet vs. Indiana with 13 points, two 3-pointers, three rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block in 24 minutes off the bench.

Advice: He split minutes evenly with starter Amir Johnson (six points, four boards, two steals, two blocks), and that situation is unlikely to change unless one of them gets hurt. Pat-Pat is a borderline 12-team option if you're hunting 3-pointers and rebounds in a 9-cat league, but most owners can do better while the Raptors are at full strength. Rotoworld.com

    • Jonas Valanciunas attempts two shots Tuesday
Jonas Valanciunas attempted only two shots on Tuesday, making one of them to finish with six points, eight rebounds and one block in 27 minutes.

Advice: The good news is that he made 4-of-4 free throws and his minutes were limited by foul trouble, rather than coach Dwane Casey's caprice. Valanciunas doesn't always take a lot of shots but when he does he makes them count -- he's taking 5.8 shots per game within 12 feet of the hoop, and his FG percentage (55.3 percent) ranks eighth in the NBA. • Dwyane Wade (hamstring) will not return Tues
Dwyane Wade injured his hamstring during Tuesday's game against the Bucks and will not return.

Advice: It's important to note that this injury occurred to his other hamstring, and not the one that cost him two games earlier in the month. Judging by Wade's body language, it looks like Wade could see some additional time on the sidelines until he is at or close to 100 percent. The Heat don't have a true backup shooting guard, so Mario Chalmers, Shabazz Napier and Norris Cole could see big minutes in the backcourt in the short-term. Wade finished tonight's game with 12 points, one board, four assists and two steals. Rotoworld.com

    • LaMarcus Aldridge says he's back for good
LaMarcus Aldridge is not planning on sitting out any more games, and he will delay his surgery until the offseason.

Advice: "As of now, I’m back," said Aldridge. "But if I get [my thumb] whacked or if something happens where I can’t tolerate it and I’m not playing at a good enough level to help the team, then I’ll have surgery. But as of now, I think they have done a good job of protecting it, so I’m back for the season and then I’ll just have surgery in the offseason." Owners will just have to hope he can stay healthy, but coming off a 26-point outing, his production is not going to be an issue. Rotoworld.com
      Today, 4:02 pm
    • Danny Granger will start Tuesday vs. MIL
Danny Granger is in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game vs. the Bucks with Luol Deng (sore calf) unavailable.

Advice: Granger doesn't have a favorable matchup tonight, and he has failed to do much in the past with the starting role. Through three starts this season Granger has averaged 4.7 points on 41.7 percent shooting, not great. James Ennis will likely see some extended minutes off the bench, but he too makes for a very risky option in most leagues. Rotoworld.com
      Today, 3:54 pm
    • Hassan Whiteside expected to start Tuesday
Hassan Whiteside is expected to replace Chris Andersen (elbow, back) in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game vs. the Bucks.

Advice: Whiteside is coming off a massive tripe-double from Sunday, and he'll look to keep the momentum going with a favorable matchup against the Bucks on Tuesday. Make sure you have him active, and give him a look if you're playing in any daily leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Paul George (leg) still not taking contact
Head coach Frank Vogel said that Paul George (leg) has increased his workload, but he's still being limited to non-contact work.

Advice: George remains extremely unlikely to suit up this season, so he can remain on the waiver wire unless you're in a keeper league. We'll continue to provide updates on his progress, but there's been no indication that he will play this year. Rotoworld.com

    • Snyder brushes off Dante Exum's poor game
Jazz head coach Quin Snyder said he would not be reactionary after Dante Exum's scoreless performance against the Celtics on Monday.

Advice: Exum has been starting for the Jazz for the past three games, and it appears that despite Monday's inefficient outing, he's going to stick with the starting unit. The Jazz are not in the playoff hunt, sitting on a record of 16-29, so player development is going to be prioritized over winning. Exum has shown flashes, but it's going to be a bumpy ride for owners relying on production from a 19-year-old. He's more of a deep league guy right now. Rotoworld.com
      Today, 12:59 pm
    • Jazz will not re-sign Elliot Williams
The Utah Jazz will not re-sign Elliot Williams when his second 10-day contract expires.

Advice: This move comes as no surprise as Williams has only played in two of the Jazz' last five games. He's averaged 3.6 points in five games with the Jazz this season and can be left on the wire even if he hooks on with another team. Rotoworld.com
      Today, 6:34 am
    • Jusuf Nurkic picks up the pace on Monday
Jusuf Nurkic picked up the pace on Monday against the Clippers, scoring six points on 3-of-6 shooting with 10 rebounds, one steal and three blocks in 29 minutes.

Advice: Nurkic was one of the Nuggets' best players tonight and yet Brian Shaw pulled him late to bring in J.J. Hickson. He's not out of the woods in terms of consistency but he has more than proven his upside and needs to be held through any cold streaks. Rotoworld.com
      Yesterday, 10:05 pm
    • Hickson ineffective in 17 minutes vs. LAC
J.J. Hickson logged just 17 minutes on Monday, putting up two points, five rebounds and two assists.

Advice: Hickson wasn't very valuable in standard leagues when he was putting up double-doubles lately, so needless to say when things head south owners can cut bait real quick. Rotoworld.com

    • Favors blocks four shots, scores 13 points
Derrick Favors scored 13 points on 5-of-13 shooting (3-of-7 FTs) with eight rebounds, four assists, one steal and four blocks in the Jazz's 99-90 loss to the Celtics on Monday.

Advice: Favors is a top-50 play and is well-positioned to hold the line or improve as the year goes on. Enes Kanter had a typical 20 and six night with no other stats, and Rudy Gobert was dominant defensively on his way to eight points, 10 boards, two assists and three blocks in 26 minutes. • Hayward goes off in loss to the Celtics
Gordon Hayward scored 26 points on 7-of-17 shooting (including four threes) with six rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks in Monday's home loss to the Celtics.

Advice: Hayward hit 8-of-12 free throws and pushes his value up to top 25-40 levels after this voluminous effort. Rotoworld.com

    • Exum goes scoreless in 25-minute start
Dante Exum went scoreless in 25 minutes of action on Monday against the Celtics, finishing with just one rebound and two assists to his credit.

Advice: Ouch. Exum is very raw and his move into the starting lineup may be premature, though nothing has been said to the effect of a change so far. If you added him you might want to show a bit of patience because he's just 19 years old, but in general this could be a very bumpy and/or short experience as the starter. Rotoworld.com

    • Kevin Love experienced dizzy spells Sunday
Kevin Love experienced some dizzy spells during Sunday's win over the Thunder, but he came out of the game okay.

Advice: "Everything was spinning there for a little bit," Love said. "It was a scary moment, but I was good after that." It sounds like Love may have been dealing with a vertigo-like moment, and that can be caused by a number of things, including dehydration. Love said he "probably" ate too close to game time, but the good news is that he appears okay. Rotoworld.com

    • Ryan Kelly scores two points in another start
Ryan Kelly struggled in another start for L.A. with two points, one rebound, three assists and one steal in 20 minutes during Sunday's home loss.

Advice: Kelly will get an extended audition as a starter and his role is relatively secure with Kobe Bryant (shoulder) out of commission. Whether he'll have any fantasy appeal remains to be seen, however, and nearly all owners should observe him from a safe distance. Rotoworld.com
      Sunday, 9:10 pm
    • Andrew Bogut double-doubles in 28 minutes
Andrew Bogut played 28 minutes in a win over the Celtics on Sunday, scoring 13 points with 13 boards, four assists, one steal and one block.

Advice: It was a little surprising to see him play 28 minutes, but his owners won't be complaining with this line. Bogut is still worth owning even if he only sees around 25 minutes per game going forward, but his owners will always have to worry about precautionary DNPs, especially with the Warriors virtually locked into a top seed in the Western Conference. • Jusuf Nurkic gets four fouls in 19 minutes
Jusuf Nurkic racked up four personal fouls in just 19 minutes of action on Sunday, finishing a tough loss to the Wizards with six points, nine boards, two assists and one steal.

Advice: Nurkic has a golden opportunity with Timofey Mozgov gone and JaVale McGee (tibia) still inactive, but he can't get out of his own way with the foul trouble. He's still a late-middle round value over the past month, in just 20.2 minutes per game, and simply has too much upside to cut in 12-team leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Jonas Valanciunas has 20 & 11 w/ three blocks
The Raptors knocked off the Pistons on Sunday behind Jonas Valanciunas' 20 points on 9-of-15 shooting, 11 rebounds and three blocks.

Advice: JV suggested this week that he might be a coach's selection for the All-Star game, which is wishful thinking, but he's still putting together a solid season. The third-year center is averaging a career-high 12.5 points with 8.4 boards and 1.0 blocks, while aiding fantasy owners in FG percentage (55.1) and FT percentage (80.0) percent. It all adds up to steady mid-round value. Rotoworld.com

    • Greg Monroe's 21 & 16 not enough vs. Raptors
Greg Monroe piled up 21 points, 16 rebounds and four assists in a losing effort vs. Toronto on Sunday, making 9-of-17 FGs and 3-of-5 FTs in the process.

Advice: Monroe has been firing on all cylinders since Josh Smith's departure, and he's flirting with top-20 value in Detroit's past 15 games. That's more than owners could have hoped for on draft day and he'll shoulder an even bigger offensive burden without Brandon Jennings (Achilles), giving him a tremendous rest-of-season outlook. Rotoworld.com

    • D.J. Augustin explodes for career-high 35 pts
D.J. Augustin exploded for a career-high 35 points while taking over the Pistons' starting PG job on Sunday, hitting 12-of-20 shots with five 3-pointers, four boards and eight assists.

Advice: Congratulations to all those owners who snagged Augustin off the waiver wire following Brandon Jennings' Achilles injury. Augustin also was 6-of-6 at the FT line with only two turnovers in 37 minutes and this may stand as his best line all season, but he's locked into a huge role with Jennings done for the year. Detroit plays three times next week, which is good enough to start Augustin in all formats. Rotoworld.com
      Sunday, 7:09 pm
    • Kevin Love gets 19 & 13 w/ five 3-pointers
Kevin Love scored 19 points with 13 rebounds, one assist and one block in 36 minutes on Sunday, while making 5-of-7 shots from downtown.

Advice: He was 3-of-17 from deep in Cleveland's previous four games, and his ability to knock down triples is critical for his fantasy value -- 35.6 percent of his attempts have come from deep this season, which blows away his previous career high. Love is returning third-round value this season, which isn't what owners expected on draft day, and it's hard to envision a surge while LeBron James and Kyrie Irving are healthy. Rotoworld.com

    • LeBron James scores 34, Cavs win 6th straight
LeBron James scored 34 points to lead five Cavaliers in double-digits on Sunday, adding two 3-pointers, seven rebounds and five assists in Cleveland's sixth straight victory.

Advice: The re-tooled Cavs are figuring out how to win as a team, which is an unwelcome development for the rest of the Eastern Conference. James shot 11-of-25 from the field and 10-of-13 at the FT line, and rounded out Sunday's gem with a steal and two blocks. Rotoworld.com

    • LaMarcus Aldridge could miss training camp?
There is a chance that if LaMarcus Aldridge delays his thumb surgery, he could miss the beginning of training camp next season.

Advice: While Aldridge is not risking any further injury by playing with a torn radial collateral ligament in his left (non-shooting) thumb, a specialist in the field stated that delaying surgery could cause his recovery time to take twice as long (up to three to four months). However, Aldridge has said he plans to play through the pain, so this will just be something to monitor heading into next season. Rotoworld.com

    • Dwyane Wade goes for 26-3-3 in Miami win
Dwyane Wade scored 26 points on 10-of-18 shooting during Sunday's win over the Bulls, adding three rebounds, three assists, and five turnovers.

Advice: Wade was also a perfect 6-of-6 from the charity stripe, and it appears he's completely over his illness that held him back during Friday's game. Wade also reportedly told Hassan Whiteside to shut up and block shots, which resulted in Whiteside setting a franchise and career-high in blocked shots (12) tonight. Nice. Rotoworld.com

    • D.J. Augustin starting Sunday vs. Toronto
D.J. Augustin will start at point guard for Sunday's game vs. the Raptors.

Advice: The Pistons are looking at adding a third point guard, but Augustin is going to have essentially zero competition for playing time with Brandon Jennings (Achilles) going down for the rest of the season. Augustin needs to be picked up in all leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Hassanity! Whiteside triple-doubles w/ blocks
Hassan Whiteside put up a magnificent triple-double on Sunday, racking up 14 points, 13 rebounds, and 12 blocks over just 26.6 minutes of action.

Advice: The 12 blocks were not only an NBA season-high, but also a single-game franchise setting record in Miami. When speaking after the game, Whiteside joked: "I’m just trying to get my NBA2K rating up." While that will likely go up, his ownership in fantasy leagues is also due for a huge increase (currently 48 percent owned in Yahoo! leagues) so make sure he's not sitting on your waiver wire. • D.J. Augustin set to become starting PG
With news coming out that Brandon Jennings will miss the remainder of the season with an Achilles injury, D.J. Augustin is set to become the starting point guard in Detroit.

Advice: Augustin is averaging 13.3 points, 6.3 assists, 1.3 three-pointers, and 3.3 turnovers through three games as a starter for Detroit. Make sure he's not sitting on your waiver wire, as he has now officially become a must-own player in all standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Update: Hassan Whiteside active vs. the Bulls
Hassan Whiteside will play against the Bulls on Sunday.

Advice: He did say his ankle was at 90 percent, but he has simply been too good to keep out of lineups. We will let you know how his ankle holds up after the game. Chris Andersen's value takes a big hit with this news and can be dropped in most leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Hassan Whiteside (ankle) warming up Sunday
Hassan Whiteside (ankle) was spotted warming up prior to Sunday's game vs. the Bulls.

Advice: While he is hoping to play, we probably won't know his status until closer to tip-off so his owners will need to stay on alert for updates. With his upside in boards and blocks, Whiteside has emerged as a solid fantasy asset and is worth owning in all standard leagues even if does see a little more time on the sidelines. If he can't go, expect Chris Andersen and Udonis Haslem to fill the void. Rotoworld.com

    • Thumbs Up: LaMarcus Aldridge scores 26 points
LaMarcus Aldridge looked fantastic in his shocking return to the lineup on Saturday during a 103-96 victory over the Wizards, making 9-of-22 from the field for 26 points with nine rebounds, three assists and two steals in 36 minutes.

Advice: He wore a brace on his thumb and didn't seem to be too bothered with his injury. Aldridge was hit on his bad hand a few times and was not in visible pain. Additionally he had some interesting comments today. Before the game, Aldridge said that he is going to try to play through the injury, but he did leave the door open of him changing his mind. Following the game, he said the Blazers losing two games in a row before tonight factored into his decision. Aldridge also said "of course" when he was asked about his thumb hurting. He didn't mention Nicolas Batum (wrist) directly, but reading between the lines suggests that was a factor, too. Aldridge is going to be a volatile fantasy property, but he's a must start player while he's active. Rotoworld.com

    • Dante Exum suddenly good from 3-point range
Dante Exum made 5-of-7 from the field for 13 points during a 108-73 win over the Nets on Saturday with four rebounds, four assists and four 3-pointers in 29 minutes.

Advice: He is inexplicably a knock-down shooter in the starting lineup. In his last two games as the starter, Exum averaged 14.0 points, 2.0 boards, 4.5 assists and 4.0 triples on 52.6 percent from the field. That's good for a 73.7 effective field goal percentage, which is actually higher than Kyle Korver this season. Exum's shot is a little funky and he was not effective from deep before this hot streak. He still doesn't have a tremendous game for fantasy, but go ahead and give him a look to see if he can keep his 19-year-old Aussie magic going. Rotoworld.com

    • Derrick Favors plays 31 minutes
Derrick Favors was quiet in his return to the lineup on Saturday with nine points, eight rebounds, one assist and two blocks.

Advice: It wasn't a bad line and it was mostly due to his low usage rate. Favors is shooting the ball very well from the field and is at 72.3 percent from the line in 2015, so he could become an elite big man thanks to his contributions in blocks. Rotoworld.com

    • DJ Augustin set for major increase in minutes
D.J. Augustin played 15 minutes on Saturday against the Bucks with two points and two steals.

Advice: Despite the awful game, Augustin is set for a significant bump on playing time. Brandon Jennings (leg) is possibly out for the season, so expect DJA to play close to 30-35 minutes. He can add some steals, dimes and triples, which makes him some worth grabbing in all standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Stunner: LaMarcus Aldridge will play Saturday
LaMarcus Aldridge (thumb) will play against the Wizards on Saturday.

Advice: Wow! He is going to put the surgery on hold and will play through the tear in his left thumb. This is easily the most shocking news of the season after the team announced he was going to rest 6-8 weeks. Obviously grab Aldridge in all leagues and hope he can avoid an aggravation. Maybe he's just putting off the surgery until Nicolas Batum (wrist) can play? Whatever his reasoning, it's hard to explain and he will likely have some answers later today. If you added any Blazer in even 14- or 16-team leagues, you can cut him. Although owners in deeper leagues can look to Dorell Wright, C.J. McCollum or Victor Claver because Nicolas Batum is hurt. • Dante Exum to draw another start vs. Nets
Dante Exum will draw his second straight start over Trey Burke for Saturday's game vs. the Nets.

Advice: Exum scored a career-high 15 points in a start on Thursday, and it looks like he has a real chance to replace Trey Burke for good. Coach Quin Snyder did say that his lineup wasn't set in stone, so this will definitely be a situation worth monitoring going forward. Burke's value will continue to trend down as long as he comes off the bench and his owners should be concerned. Rotoworld.com

    • Derrick Favors (personal) will play Saturday
Derrick Favors (personal) will play on Saturday vs. the Nets.

Advice: He missed Thursday's game to tend to an emergency family matter so his owners can pencil Favors into their lineups. Rudy Gobert will likely shift back to the bench with this news, but he should still see enough run to make an impact in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Nurkic not getting the love from Shaw
Jusuf Nurkic played just 15 minutes in the Nuggets' 100-99 loss to the Celtics on Friday, finishing with six points and eight rebounds to go with three fouls.

Advice: Nurkic's foul rate was still up but this wasn't about foul trouble, and we haven't heard anything at all about his sore back. J.J. Hickson started the second half and it just looks like Brian Shaw isn't ready to free Nurkic, but unless the Nuggets trade for a big man we can't get behind a drop. There's simply too much upside and we'd need to be shaken much harder than this. Rotoworld.com

    • Hickson double-doubles with 15 & 14
J.J. Hickson started the second half of Friday's game instead of Jusuf Nurkic, finishing with a double-double including 15 points and 14 rebounds in 29 minutes.

Advice: Hickson added three assists and two steals but hit just 3-of-6 from the foul line. He's barely clinging to life in 12-team standard formats and JaVale McGee hasn't yet stepped on the floor, making him a stop-gap solution at best for owners needing a big man, regardless of whether he starts or not. • Kelly doesn't do much in 22-minute start
Ryan Kelly started at small forward in Friday's loss to the Spurs, scoring seven points on 2-of-4 shooting with three rebounds and one block in 22 minutes.

Advice: Kelly hasn't done anything of much value this season, but he has flashed potential in the past and as the Lakers turn the page on this season he'll be worth watching. If you're in a 14-16 team league and want to take a flier it's not the craziest thing we've heard of. Rotoworld.com

    • Wade (illness) struggles through Friday's win
Dwyane Wade played through an illness on Friday against the Pacers, finishing with 13 points on 5-of-16 shooting with zero rebounds, four assists and two steals in 32 minutes.

Advice: The illness certainly affected his performance and with six turnovers owners would have been fine if he just skipped this one. He's a major shutdown candidate and owners will want to root for the Heat to stay healthy and competitive for a playoff spot. Rotoworld.com

    • Cavs crush Hornets, LeBron scores 25 points
LeBron James had no trouble with the Hornets on Friday during a 129-90 win, scoring 25 points with six rebounds, nine assists, four steals, one block and two 3-pointers in 27 minutes.

Advice: The Cavs were up 35 points at half and the Hornets just couldn't' stop them whatsoever. After all the daytime sports talk shows were freaking out, the Cavs are on a five-game winning streak and have three consecutive games with a double-digit margin of victory. LeBron looks like he's back. Rotoworld.com

    • Kyrie Irving scores 18 points
Kyrie Irving scored 18 points with four rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers against the Hornets on Friday.

Advice: He did have to ask out of the game with a right hand injury, but he was able to return. Irving also picked up the first technical foul of his career, which is something considering it was the 222nd game of his NBA career. He's been great with his new teammates and is exceeding most expectations. Rotoworld.com

    • Jonas Valanciunas blocks three in 26 minutes
Jonas Valanciunas blocked three shots against the 76ers on Friday with 11 points, three rebounds and two steals in 26 minutes.

Advice: He is playing with a minor calf injury and it didn't seem to affect him much. Valanciunas hasn't been blocking shots too much, but he's starting to do it again over his last four with seven in that span. The chance to buy low is shrinking. Rotoworld.com

    • Two-Pat Dub-Dub: Patrick Patterson plays well
Patrick Patterson started the second half of Friday's game against the 76ers, finishing with 14 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, two steals and two 3-pointers in 30 minutes.

Advice: Amir Johnson was benched due to playing poorly. Patterson has really shined in the second unit, so chances are he's not going to move into the starting lineup. On the other hand, he's played well and has averaged a double-double over his last three. He's more of a 14-team guy right now, but there is some upside if you need treys from the power forward spot in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Patrick Patterson starting second half
Patrick Patterson is starting the second half against the Sixers on Friday.

Advice: Two-Pat was on a roll while Amir Johnson did not score in the first half. It's unknown if Johnson is hurt, but it might just be a change with the way the game is going. Patterson isn't quite worth owning in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Hassan Whiteside not expected to play
Hassan Whiteside (ankle) is not expected to play against the Pacers on Friday.

Advice: He tried to warmup and the Heat are just going to keep him on the bench. Whiteside's ankle sprain didn't look great and hopefully he can suit up Sunday against the Bulls. He should still be owned in all standard leagues. Rotoworld.com
      Friday, 4:45 pm
    • Ryan Kelly starting for the Lakers
Ryan Kelly will start against the Spurs on Friday.

Advice: It'll be his third start of the season. In his previous two, he averaged 7.5 points, 7.5 boards, 2.0 assists and 1.5 treys. Kelly could be worth a look in deeper leagues for owners needing treys. Of course, he's had a lot of trouble staying healthy. Rotoworld.com
      Friday, 4:17 pm
    • Hassan Whiteside active, coming off the bench
Hassan Whiteside (ankle) is active and will come off the bench against the Pacers on Friday.

Advice: He might have his minutes held in check tonight. Chris Andersen is getting the start, but he'll likely only have minutes close to 20. Whiteside will be a risky play tonight, but he should be owned in all leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Wade and Deng starting, Whiteside is not
Dwyane Wade and Luol Deng will start against the Pacers on Friday.

Advice: We're still waiting to see what's up with Hassan Whiteside. Wade appears to be good to go and should run the offense for the Heat tonight as one of the highest usage rate guys in the NBA. Start him in your standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Jonas Valanciunas starting vs. Philadelphia
Jonas Valanciunas (calf) will start against the 76ers on Friday.

Advice: He said he's still dealing with soreness, but there's no indication of him being limited. Valanciunas actually has been quiet in his two games against the 76ers this season with just 12 points in each. He's still worth starting in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Dwyane Wade (illness) planning on playing
Dwyane Wade (illness) is planning on playing giant the Pacers on Friday.

Advice: He is in the arena and there's no indication that he will sit. Wade missed shootaround this morning and he's likely going to be less than 100 percent. He'll be a risky play in DFS tonight and we'll look for an other update regarding his status in the starting lineup. Rotoworld.com

    • Hassan Whiteside going through warmups
Hassan Whiteside (ankle) is going through warmups to prepare to play on Friday.

Advice: It would appear he's on track to play and the Heat would certainly need him tonight, especially if Dwyane Wade (illness) can't go. Whiteside might have his hands full with Roy Hibbert and hopefully he can avoid foul trouble. We'll have an update before the 7:30 tip. Rotoworld.com

    • Jonas Valanciunas (calf) expects to play Fri
Jonas Valanciunas (sore calf) said that he's "fine" and he expects to play on Friday.

Advice: The Raptors are in Philly to take on the 76ers, who are giving up 19.4 points and 15.3 rebounds to opposing centers this season, so JV has an appealing matchup as long as it's not a blowout. He's safe to keep in active lineups and we'll let you know if his status changes prior to tip-off. Rotoworld.com

    • Hassan Whiteside (ankle) questionable vs Indy
Hassan Whiteside (sprained right ankle) was limited at shootaround and he remains questionable to play on Friday.

Advice: It's encouraging to see Whiteside back on the court after rolling his ankle on Tuesday, but owners should hedge their bets on Friday until his status is determined. Chris Andersen would earn another start if Whiteside isn't able to play, with Udonis Haslem picking up extra minutes off the bench. Rotoworld.com

    • Dwyane Wade (illness) questionable vs. Pacers
Dwyane Wade (illness) didn't go through Friday's shootaround and he's questionable to play vs. the Pacers.

Advice: Hassan Whiteside (ankle) is also questionable but it sounds like Luol Deng (illness) will be back in uniform, giving Miami a much-needed boost if Wade isn't able to suit up. The Heat are unlikely to determine his status until close to the 7:30 ET tip-off in Miami. Rotoworld.com

    • Pat Riley says Heat have 'underachieved'
Heat president Pat Riley said on Thursday that his team has "underachieved" this season.

Advice: "We’ve had a lot of opportunities, 10 or 12 games to overcome adversity ... and we haven’t been able to," Riley said. "We are in the fight with five or six other teams for probably the playoffs, spots six, seven and eight." Miami's 18-24 record puts them in the No. 7 seed in the East, but they're just three games above the No. 11 seed Celtics. Dwyane Wade and company will try to pad their lead with a home win vs. the Pacers on Friday. Rotoworld.com

    • Gordon Hayward scores 24 points vs. Bucks
Gordon Hayward carried the Jazz down the stretch during a 101-99 win on Thursday in Milwaukee with 24 points, six rebounds, six assists, two steals, two 3-pointers and six turnovers in 35 minutes.

Advice: His numbers have been trending down on the season, so this big game was nice to see. In fact, Hayward's points and rebounds have decreased in each of the last three months of the season. The Jazz will get to host the struggling Nets on Saturday, so expect Hayward to have success again. Rotoworld.com

    • Dante Exum starts with 5 treys for 15 points
Dante Exum moved into the starting lineup and scored a career-high 15 points against the Bucks on Thursday with five assists and a career-high five 3-pointers in 35 minutes.

Advice: He's a career 30.1 percent shooter from deep, so this was a major shock to see him make more than three treys for the first time in his career. Exum also ran the point even when he played next to Trey Burke tonight and matched his career high in dimes (this is his seventh five-dime game this season). His minutes are clearly climbing and he's on the radar in deeper leagues. The steals aren't there and he's likely going to shoot around 40 percent from the field this season, so he's not a great add in standard leagues yet. Rotoworld.com
      Thursday, 9:29 pm
    • Zaza Pachulia double-doubles vs. Jazz
Zaza Pachulia double-doubled against the Jazz during a 101-99 loss on Thursday with 10 points, 10 rebounds and three assists in 31 minutes.

Advice: He made just 4-of-14 from the field and is really struggling from the field in his last four. In that span, Pachulia made just 32.4 percent from the field for averages of 9.3 points, 8.5 boards, 3.0 assists and 0.3 blocks. John Henson can't stop fouling and Larry Sanders could be out for the season, so Zaza's minutes are safe. Rotoworld.com

    • LaMarcus Aldridge (thumb) ruled out 6-8 weeks
LaMarcus Aldridge (left thumb) will have surgery on his radial collateral ligament tear and will be out 6-8 weeks.

Advice: The Blazers are in deep trouble. Aldridge is sixth in the NBA for points per game and 11th in the rebounds per game. He's also third in the NBA in field goal attempts per game, so coach Terry Stotts is going to have to go back to the drawing board on how to get his other guys shots. It'll be a mixture of guys because Stotts loves to play the matchups. Dorell Wright benefitted the most on Wednesday, but players such as Thomas Robinson, Meyers Leonard, Victor Claver and Chris Kaman will also have to help out more. Of course, the trio of Damian Lillard, Wes Matthews and Nicolas Batum will also have to step up. Owners in standard leagues can think about grabbing Wright, but he is going to be inconsistent. • LaMarcus Aldridge (thumb) listed as out
LaMarcus Aldridge (thumb) is listed as out for Thursday's game against Boston.

Advice: We should know the results of his second MRI very soon, so owners will want to check back for updates. Aldridge is currently wearing a cast on his thumb, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him spend some additional time on the sidelines. Nicolas Batum and Dorell Wright will continue to be the biggest beneficiaries in Aldridge's absence. Rotoworld.com

    • Dante Exum starting over Trey Burke Thursday
Dante Exum will start over Trey Burke on Thursday against the Bucks.

Advice: Wow. Coach Quin Snyder said that he is making the switch in order to bolster the second unit, but this definitely comes out of nowhere. Exum has simply been too bad to rely on in most leagues, so we wouldn't recommend an add outside of deeper leagues for now. Burke's owners should be patient and see how things play out in Utah. • Jonas Valanciunas (calf) questionable Friday
Jonas Valanciunas is dealing with a sore left calf and is questionable for Friday's game vs. the 76ers.

Advice: He has notched double-doubles in his last two games, but considering the Raptors are playing the lowly 76ers there is a good chance that they opt to give him some rest. We will update his status when we know more, but expect Amir Johnson and Patrick Patterson to benefit the most should Valanciunas miss any time. Rotoworld.com

    • Dwyane Wade fined $15,000 on Thursday
Dwyane Wade was fined $15,000 by the NBA for making an obscene gesture during Wednesday's loss to Charlotte.

Advice: It has been a rough season for the Heat so it's not surprising to see Wade let out some frustration. On the bright side, Wade was able to play through his hamstring injury on Wednesday and it didn't appear that he was limited in any fashion. As always, simply check the injury report before inserting Wade into lineups as his next DNP is always right around the corner. Rotoworld.com

    • Jusuf Nurkic is now dealing with a sore back
Jusuf Nurkic is now dealing with a sore back, and while he did miss practice on Thursday, he will play against Boston on Friday.

Advice: The Nuggets probably just opted to give the rookie some extra rest, and the good news is that Nurkic isn't likely to miss any action. We will continue to follow this story closely, but owners can go ahead and pencil him into all lineups barring a setback. JaVale McGee (leg) is also closing in on a return, but given how injury-prone he is there is no need for Nurkic's owners to be concerned. Rotoworld.com

    • Derrick Favors (personal) out on Thursday
Derrick Favors (personal) will not play against the Bucks on Thursday.

Advice: There is no word of an injury, and all we know is that Favors won't even travel with the Jazz to Milwaukee for "personal reasons". We will be sure to pass along any available updates as needed. On the other hand, Rudy Gobert will likely draw the start on Thursday and is absolutely a must-start option for his upside in blocks and boards. Rotoworld.com

    • LaMarcus Aldridge has cast on thumb
Sean Deveney of The Sporting News is reporting that LaMarcus Aldridge (hand) has a cast on his thumb and is getting another MRI on Thursday.

Advice: Aldridge's previous MRI was reportedly inconclusive due to swelling, but the cast on his thumb (which could be precautionary) isn't great news. We'll have updates on LA as more information becomes available, but it would be a surprise to see him suit up on Thursday while Chris Kaman, Thomas Robinson, and Dorrell Wright will all see a boost in fantasy value while Aldridge is out. Andrew Bogut had nine points, 10 rebound, a steal and five blocks in just 22 minutes in Wednesday's win over the Rockets.

Advice: He appeared to baffle Dwight Howard tonight and it's becoming really clear that the Warriors are going to need to have him healthy for the playoffs. Expect less than 25 minutes a game from Bogut going forward, and expect him to keep putting up decent numbers on nights when he's healthy enough to play. Rotoworld.com

Nene scored a season-high 24 points with four rebounds, three assists and no turnovers in 34 minutes against the Thunder on Wednesday.

Advice: It's his second 20-point game in his last three and his 34 minutes tonight were the first time he's played more than 31 minutes since Nov. 20. Nene's minutes tend to fluctuate and he only played 18 minutes on Monday, so it's still going to be hard to trust him. If you want to give him a try following this game, you can give him a look. • Greivis Vasquez shoots 1-of-8 in start vs MEM
Greivis Vasquez started Wednesday's game in Memphis, but finished with only three points on 1-of-8 shooting in the Raptors' road loss.

Advice: Vasquez logged 22 minutes and he's been underwhelming since overtaking Terrence Ross for a starting job. He chipped in two steals tonight and deep-league owners may find him to be a worthwhile gamble, but everyone should avoid him while Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan, James Johnson and Ross are all healthy. • LeBron James, Kyrie Irving play despite flu
LeBron James and Kyrie Irving played through a flu bug on Wednesday as the Cavaliers won their fourth straight game in a blowout over the Jazz.

Advice: James had 26 points, seven rebounds, nine assists, four steals and seven turnovers, and Irving added 18 points, four assists, five steals and two 3-pointers. Kevin Love also chipped in with a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds, as the Cavs appear to finally be figuring things out. Rotoworld.com

Greg Monroe finished Wednesday's win vs. Orlando with 24 points on 11-of-16 shooting, 10 rebounds, four assists and one block, marking his 10th double-double of the month.

Advice: Monroe has grabbed eight rebounds in two games since Jan. 1, which are the only times he failed to double-double in 2015. Fantasy owners basking in his post-Smoove production shouldn't overlook his FT shooting, which has soared to a career-high 76.3 percent on 4.8 attempts per game. He's locked into top-50 value. Dwyane Wade played through a hamstring injury on Wednesday and hit just 8-of-21 shots for 17 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Advice: He missed a couple games with the injury and has now played in two straight with it. Wade may or may not be out of the woods, but given his history, there's a chance he misses another game sooner than later. Wade should basically be considered day-to-day for the rest of the season. Danny Granger started in place of Luol Deng (illness) on Wednesday, but failed to do much, finishing with just three points and one rebound on 1-of-3 shooting in 20 minutes.

Advice: He also had a steal, a block and a 3-pointer, but daily owners who rolled the dice needed a whole lot more from Granger tonight. Deng shouldn't be out long, so look for Granger to crawl back into his cave sooner than later. Rotoworld.com

    • LaMarcus Aldridge (hand) getting second MRI
LaMarcus Aldridge (hand) will get another MRI on Thursday.

Advice: He had his first today and the Blazers didn't provide an update. An inconclusive MRI usually isn't good news, but it doesn't necessarily mean Aldridge has structural damage. • Danny Granger starts at SF w/ Luol Deng out
Danny Granger will start at SF on Wednesday with Luol Deng (illness) unavailable.

Advice: James Ennis should also see significant minutes and it's hard to rely on either guy for temporary value, as they've both squandered expanded opportunities in the past. Granger went 3-of-5 from the field on Tuesday but prior to that he was riding a long shooting slump, and he's only worth considering as a desperation source of points and 3-pointers. Rotoworld.com

Kyrie Irving (illness) missed shootaround but is probable to play on Wednesday against the Jazz.

Advice: Irving torched the Bulls on Monday with 18 points and 12 assists all while playing stifling defense on Derrick Rose. Owners should check back before tip-off just to be safe, but Irving should be in all lineups even if he isn't feeling 100 percent. Rotoworld.com

    • LeBron James (illness) will play on Wednesday
LeBron James (illness) participated in shootaround and will play against the Jazz on Wednesday.

Advice: He did miss practice on Tuesday, but his owners should not have any concerns about activating him into all lineups. James has averaged 31.8 points per game since returning from knee and back problems, and he has a favorable match tonight against the Jazz. Rotoworld.com

    • Jusuf Nurkic nears double-double on Tuesday
Nuggets C Jusuf Nurkic finished Tuesday's home loss with 10 points on 5-of-9 FGs, nine rebounds, two assists and three turnovers in 26 minutes.

Advice: Foul trouble has been crippling Nurkic's playing time and fantasy value, so it was nice to see him stay on the court vs. a savvy and experienced Spurs squad. He didn't block any shots tonight but he also didn't take any FTs, which is good for the 69.0 percent FT shooter. Denver was recently linked to Brook Lopez in trade talks, reportedly viewing Lopez as an ideal mentor for Nurkic, but fantasy owners shouldn't react since it's firmly in the 'rumor' stage. • Hassan Whiteside (ankle) won't play Wednesday
Updating a previous report, Hassan Whiteside (sprained right ankle) will not travel with the Heat for Wednesday's game in Charlotte.

Advice: Whiteside was diagnosed with a Grade-1 sprain, which is the least severe variety, so he should have a chance to return for Friday's home game vs. the Pacers. Updating a previous report, LaMarcus Aldridge (thumb) was evaluated by a hand specialist on Tuesday, and he is scheduled to undergo an MRI later this week.

Advice: Aldridge will miss Wednesday's game vs. Phoenix, and he remains without an official timetable to return. Chris Kaman figures to be the primary beneficiary if Aldridge is forced to take an extended absence, with Dorell Wright, Meyers Leonard, and Thomas Robinson all being in line for extended minutes. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • LaMarcus Aldridge (thumb) will not play Wed.
LaMarcus Aldridge (thumb) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game vs. the Suns.

Advice: The Blazers did not provide any further updates on Aldridge's injury other than he will not travel with the team to Phoenix, and he is set to see a hand specialist. We'll be monitoring this situation closely, but it's looking like an extended absence for Aldridge is a real possibility. Chris Kaman, Dorell Wright, Meyers Leonard, and Thomas Robinson will all see some increased opportunity with LaMarcus sidelined, with Kaman being the most consistent option of the group. • LeBron James (flu) misses practices Tuesday
LeBron James (flu-like symptoms) did not practice on Tuesday.

Advice: The Cavs are waiting to see how LeBron feels after Wednesday morning's shootaround before giving an official update on his status. We'll be calling him questionable for now, and if he is forced to sit, expect Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving to be the primary beneficiaries. J.R. Smith could draw another start, and he would also see an uptick in value with James unavailable. Rotoworld.com

    • Valanciunas gets back on track on Monday
Jonas Valanciunas double-doubled in Monday's win over the Bucks, scoring 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting with 13 rebounds, one steal and one block in 19 minutes.

Advice: Valanciunas turned the ball over five times and this line is certainly better than the reality was on the floor. He's going to be an up-and-down asset, but he has mid-round upside and he's not likely to have the bottom fall out from underneath him. Rotoworld.com
      Jan 19, 10:34 pm
    • Vasquez posts low-end line in start
Greivis Vasquez started at shooting guard in Monday's win, scoring 10 points on 4-of-10 shooting with two rebounds, three assists and one triple in 31 minutes of action.

Advice: Vasquez isn't a good bet to produce more than this with the Raptors at full strength so he's only worth a look in deeper formats. Rotoworld.com

    • Patterson ties career-high with 13 rebounds
Patrick Patterson tied a career-high with 13 rebounds on Monday, and he also chipped in with seven points and three assists in 26 minutes off the bench.

Advice: Patterson didn't attempt a single three and it's possible somebody got in his ear and told him to rebound his position. He has managed a top-150 ranking on the year in 8-cat leagues and he's money in 9-cat leagues with a top-90 rating, so give him a hard look in 8-cat formats and he should be owned in most 9-cat versions. • Love returns from back injury, double-doubles
Kevin Love (back) returned to action in the Cavs' 108-94 win over the Bulls on Monday, scoring 16 points on 3-of-13 shooting (1-of-3 from deep, 9-of-10 from the line) with 12 rebounds, two assists and one steal in 30 minutes.

Advice: Owners are simply rooting for him to get his health back at this point, and it's certainly a buy low moment but proceed with caution. Rotoworld.com

    • Kevin Love (back) will play vs. Bulls on Mon
Kevin Love (back) will play on Monday vs. the Bulls.

Advice: He has been dealing with some back spasms recently and stated that the pain is "paralyzing" when it flares up, but he was able to practice on Sunday and should see his normal minutes against the Bulls. We will let you know how Love holds up after the game. Rotoworld.com
      Jan 19, 4:32 pm
    • Greivis Vasquez will start Monday vs. Bucks
Greivis Vasquez will draw the start over Terrence Ross for Monday's game against the Bucks.

Advice: Vasquez made five previous starts this season when DeMar DeRozan was injured, and averaged 12.2 points and 4.8 assists on 44 percent shooting during that span. While coach Dwane Casey didn't indicate whether or not the move was permanent, Vasquez is worth a look in most leagues as longs as he holds onto the starting spot. Rotoworld.com

    • Jusuf Nurkic fouls out in brutal game vs. GSW
Jusuf Nurkic's struggles continued against the Warriors on Monday with two points, eight rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block before fouling out in 24 minutes.

Advice: He's been really bad over his last four. In that span, Nurkic averaged 3.8 points, 8.0 boards, 1.3 assists, 0.8 blocks, 4.0 fouls and 0.5 turnovers on 21.4 percent from the field in 20.0 minutes per game. Besides the ridiculous foul rate, the shooting is especially poor considering 86 percent of his shot attempts came from within eight feet. The upside is just too high not to stick with him. If you missed out on grabbing him, we still like the idea of sending a buy-low offer. Rotoworld.com

    • Greg Monroe's 16 & 20 aren't enough for DET
Greg Monroe piled up 16 points, 20 rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block on Monday, but he also turned the ball over six times in a loss to the Hawks.

Advice: Andre Drummond also had a convincing double-double with 13 points and 18 boards, but Detroit's big men didn't get much help -- their teammates shot a combined 19-of-62 from the field (30.7 percent) against the Hawks' intense defense. Monroe has propelled himself into second-round value over the past few weeks, and his owners hit the lottery the day Josh Smith was waived by Detroit. Rotoworld.com

    • Kevin Love (back) expected to play Monday
Kevin Love's (back) is expected to play on Monday, but a final determination has not been made.

Advice: Signs point to him playing, but it's not set in stone. "I don’t know what causes it, but when it does happen it’s pretty paralyzing," Love said. "I’m happy it’s just a spasm. It’s just something kind of day by day. Treat it as is and go along and hope it doesn’t happen." Tristan Thompson would draw the start if Love can't go. Rotoworld.com

    • LeBron James feeling best he has all season
LeBron James said that he's feeling the best he's felt all season.

Advice: I've felt better in the last three games than I did the whole season, the whole 30-plus games that I appeared in," he said. LeBron clearly needed the time off, and now the Cavs are looking to turn around their season. Cleveland faces Chicago on MLK day. Rotoworld.com

    • Gordon Hayward, Trey Burke struggle Sunday
Gordon Hayward and Trey Burke both shot 4-of-15 from the field during Sunday's loss in San Antonio, combining for 18 points in an ugly road loss.

Advice: Burke had eight assists and Hayward had five assists and three steals, but Utah never threatened after scoring just 27 points in the first half. Hayward's value has slipped after a torrid start to the season, but he's still returning top-50 value over the past month with averages of 19.3 points, 1.8 triples, 3.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.0 steals per game. • Derrick Favors gets 13 boards, four blocks
Derrick Favors had 13 rebounds and four blocks on Sunday, but he scored only nine points on 4-of-11 shooting during 27 minutes on the court.

Advice: The Jazz couldn't muster enough offense to beat the Spurs, shooting just 28-of-84 as a team (33.3 percent), with a 10-of-16 mark at the FT line. Favors fell one point shy of his third straight double-double in tonight's defeat, and his injury scare last Saturday has proven to be a false alarm. Rotoworld.com

    • Jonas Valanciunas has another quiet outing
Jonas Valanciunas followed up Friday's disappointing four-point effort with a six-point, seven-rebound outing during Sunday's loss to the Pelicans.

Advice: Valanciunas added two blocks and a steal, but also shot just 2-of-5 from the field and he turned the ball over three times. Jonas is amid one of his standard mid-season slumps, so now would be the time to try and float out some buy-low offers. Rotoworld.com
      Jan 18, 4:41 pm
    • Greivis Vasquez plays well in 2nd-half start
Greivis Vasquez started the second half of Sunday's game, putting up 16 points, nine assists (season-high), four 3-pointers, two rebounds, two steals, and three turnovers.

Advice: Head coach Dwane Casey said he felt Vasquez was guarding Tyreke Evans better than any other player, which is why he decided to make the switch and send Terrence Ross to the bench. It's unclear at this point if Vasquez will stick with the starting unit, but he's struggled with consistency throughout the season, so we'd like to see another game like this one before we recommend adding him in standard leagues. • Kevin Love (back) questionable Monday vs. CHI
Kevin Love (back) practiced on Sunday, and he is being listed as questionable for Monday's game vs. Chicago.

Advice: Love will be re-evaluated following Monday's shootaround, but given the fact he was a full participant during today's practice, his chances for Monday are looking pretty good. However, if he's unable to go, Tristan Thompson will be the primary beneficiary. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • Nene puts up a big game vs. Nets
Nene stuffed the stat sheet against the Nets on Saturday with 20 points, six boards, two assists, two steals and two blocks in 28 minutes.

Advice: His minutes have solidified at 26.3 per game in 2015. In his previous nine games, Nene averaged 11.7 points, 5.7 boards, 2.6 assists and 1.0 steals on 52.4 percent from the field. That's usable production in standard leagues, but there's no need to bend over backwards to add him considering how much he's hurt. Rotoworld.com
      Jan 17, 11:40 pm
    • J.J. Hickson double-doubles in loss Saturday
J.J. Hickson double-doubled off the bench on Saturday against Minnesota, scoring 14 points with 10 boards and one assist in 32 minutes.

Advice: He has now notched double-doubles in four of his last six games, and it's becoming obvious that the trade of Timofey Mozgov has really benefited him. While he is definitely worth owning in points leagues, owners in standard leagues can still probably do better given Hickson's poor free throw shooting and his inability to contribute in areas other than points and boards. • Andrew Bogut plays 20 minutes in return
Andrew Bogut played 20 minutes in his return to action on Saturday with two points, six rebounds, two assists and two blocks.

Advice: He's going to be in the low 20s in minutes for the foreseeable future because the Warriors will not want him to get hurt again, which has happened all too often in his career. Bogut will still likely be a low-end player to own for his blocks. Rotoworld.com

    • Jusuf Nurkic struggles with foul trouble Sat
Jusuf Nurkic struggled with foul trouble against the Wolves on Saturday, finishing with four points, nine boards and two assists in just 15 minutes.

Advice: He did shoot just 1-of-7 from the field, but the biggest concern with him is that he can't seem to keep his fouls down. However, Nurkic is still very young and he is going to experience some growing pains in the NBA, so owners should continue to remain patient with him. Given his insane upside, he should be owned in all leagues for the rest of the way. Expect him to bounce back against the Warriors on Monday. Rotoworld.com

    • Update: Andrew Bogut will start vs. Rockets
Updating a previous item, Andrew Bogut will start against the Rockets on Saturday.

Advice: He was listed as a bench guy per the arena staff, but now he's going to start. Bogut will have a tall task against Dwight Howard tonight, so he's unlikely to have a big game. He's still someone worth owning if you need a big man. Rotoworld.com

    • Andrew Bogut will come off the bench
Andrew Bogut will come off the bench against the Rockets on Saturday.

Advice: He rested on Friday against the Thunder and the Warriors look like they'll still want to keep his minutes down. Bogut should still be able to put up usable numbers in fantasy leagues even in just 20-22 minutes. Rotoworld.com

    • Jazz sign Elliot Williams to another deal
The Utah Jazz have signed Elliot Williams to another 10-day contract on Saturday as expected.

Advice: He has averaged 2.7 points in 8.6 minutes per game with the Jazz so far, and there is no reason to think that his role will grow especially with Rodney Hood returning from injury. Leave him on the wire. Rotoworld.com
      Jan 17, 8:59 am
    • Elliot Williams to stay with the Jazz
Elliot Williams is expected to sign another 10-day contract with the Jazz.

Advice: He has seen very limited playing time with the Jazz and is only averaging 2.7 points per game, so owners can leave him on the waiver wire in most leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • LeBron nears quadruple-double with TOs
LeBron James flirted with a quadruple-double including turnovers in the Cavs' road win over the Clippers on Friday, scoring 32 points on 11-of-23 shooting (3-of-8 3PTs, 7-of-12 FTs) with 11 rebounds, seven assists and nine turnovers.

Advice: The middle of the season should be where James excels the most, as the Cavs are in a very real push to turn things around and rest is better suited for later in the season. He's the No. 8 and 16 player when on the floor in 8- and 9-cat leagues, respectively. Rotoworld.com

    • Kyrie posts monster 37-point line vs. LAC
Kyrie Irving scored 37 points on 12-of-18 shooting (5-of-7 from deep, 8-of-9 from the line) with four rebounds, five assists, three steals and one block in Friday's win over the Clippers.

Advice: Irving might enjoy a few more touches for however long Kevin Love (back) may be out, but in the end owners can just pencil him in for mid second-round value. Rotoworld.com
      Jan 17, 12:02 am
    • Hayward goes for 31 & 7 in win over Lakers
Gordon Hayward scored 31 points on 12-of-18 shooting (including four threes) with three rebounds, seven assists, one steal and one block in the Jazz's 94-85 win over the Lakers on Friday.

Advice: On a night of huge performances this one fits right in. He has settled into top 30-40 production and that's what owners should expect going forward. Rotoworld.com
      Jan 16, 11:20 pm
    • Nurkic gets benched on Friday vs. Dallas
Jusuf Nurkic played just 17 minutes on Friday against the Mavs, scoring two points on 1-of-7 shooting with six rebounds and one steal.

Advice: Nurkic wasn't in foul trouble and just didn't have it going tonight. He's young and this type of thing shouldn't be surprising, and he'll likely be back with a bigger line the next time out. Rotoworld.com

J.J. Hickson double-doubled with 13 points, a season-high 14 rebounds, five turnovers and 3-of-8 makes from the foul line in 28 minutes off the bench on Friday.

Advice: Outside of points leagues this line has no real value and that's the story with Hickson, as his fantasy deficiencies keep him from being an asset in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com
