    • Solid output in starting role
Hunter finished Thursday's 123-122 overtime victory over Boston with 21 points (8-16 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 0-3 FT), 13 rebounds and one assist across 40 minutes.

Advice: Hunter has been starting in recent days and delivered another strong showing, as he's taking advantage of the fact that Jalen Johnson (ankle) and Saddiq Bey (knee) are out, with the latter not returning until next season. Hunter has reached the 20-point mark in three of his last five starts and in five of his previous eight appearances overall. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:38 pm
    • Jimmy Butler, Kevin Love probable vs. Portland
Jimmy Butler (illness) and Kevin Love (right heel bruise/personal reasons) are probable to play against Portland on Friday.

Advice: Butler is expected to be back after a one-game absence, which should push Jaime Jaquez Jr. (ankle) back to the bench. Love hasn’t played since February, but he should be back on Friday after missing Thursday’s practice due to personal reasons. He should split the power forward minutes with Caleb Martin and NIkola Jovic, which will limit the fantasy upside of all three players. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:58 am
    • Expected to play against Portland
Butler (illness) is probable for Friday's game versus the Trail Blazers, Tim Reynolds of Associated Press reports.

Advice: Butler is expected to return to action Friday after missing Miami's previous contest with a non-COVID illness. If he's upgraded to available, the star forward will likely reclaim his starting spot from Jaime Jaquez (ankle). Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:57 am
    • Remains out Thursday
Johnson (ankle) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Celtics, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.

Advice: Johnson is due for another evaluation soon, but the team hasn't released an official update since he was diagnosed with a right ankle sprain last Thursday. His next chance to suit up will come Saturday versus Milwaukee, while De'Andre Hunter and Vit Krejci should continue to see increased playing time until Johnson returns. • Jimmy Butler (illness) limited in practice Thurs.
Jimmy Butler (illness) participated in limited work during practice on Thursday.

Advice: Butler missed their game on Tuesday due to this illness, but there is a chance that he returns to the lineup on Friday against Portland. If he remains out, Patty Mills and Jaime Jaquez Jr. should start again on the wing. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:18 am
    • Limited at practice Thursday
Butler (illness) was a limited participant during Thursday's practice, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports.

Advice: Butler was sidelined for Tuesday's loss to the Warriors due to an illness but is trending in the right direction ahead of Friday's matchup versus Portland. Miami will release its official injury report Thursday afternoon. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:09 am
    • Teases triple-double against Knicks
Olynyk logged 13 points (5-9 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds and eight assists in 27 minutes during Wednesday's 145-101 loss to New York.

Advice: The veteran center has dished 27 assists over the last three games as the Raptors run the offense through him in the absence of Immanuel Quickley (personal). Since moving into the starting lineup in early March to replace Jakob Poeltl (finger), Olynyk has averaged 13.7 points, 5.7 assists, 5.6 boards, 1.2 steals, 1.1 threes and 0.8 blocks over the last 12 contests, and Poeltl's chances of returning before the end of the regular season are shrinking with each Toronto loss. • Shut down for season
The Hornets announced Thursday that Ball (ankle) will miss the remainder of the season.

Advice: Ball hasn't played since Jan. 26 due to an injury the Hornets initially labeled as right ankle soreness before eventually updating his diagnosis as right ankle tendinopathy. Though head coach Steve Clifford suggested earlier this month that Ball was doing more work on the court, the Hornets weren't willing to put a timeline on his return to the court. Ultimately, Ball didn't demonstrate enough progress in his recovery from the right ankle injury to make it back for the final two-plus weeks of the season and will be shut down for the remainder of the campaign as he turns his focus to further rehab. Ball has now played just 58 games over the past two seasons due to injuries, but he was productive during his time on the court when healthy in 2023-24, as he averaged 23.9 points, 8.0 assists, 5.1 rebounds, 3.2 three-pointers and 1.8 steals in 32.3 minutes per game over his 22 appearances. Provided he doesn't require any offseason procedures on his right ankle, Ball should be fully healed ahead of training camp in the fall. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:08 am
    • Big surprise: LaMelo Ball out rest of season
LaMelo Ball (right ankle tendinopathy) will not return this season.

Advice: If you were still holding out hope for some reason, it’s officially time to drop him to the waiver wire. LaMelo has been out since January 26th, will remain sidelined as he recovers from this right ankle injury that has plagued him all season. While he was effective when he was on the floor, he only ended up playing 22 games. Tre Mann and Vasilije Micic will be the starting backcourt for the final few weeks of the year.
