    • Josh Smith clears waivers on Wednesday
Josh Smith cleared waivers on Wednesday at 5 pm EST.

Advice: Obviously no team was going to claim Smith and help out the Pistons for their awful contract. He is going to sign with the Rockets for the bi-annual exception at $2.077 million. Interestingly, 25.8 percent of Smith's field goal attempts are long two-pointers of at least 16 feet. On the other hand, only 6.8 percent of the Rockets field goal attempts are long twos. Smith was just the 188th best player in standard leagues and is dead last in true shooting percentage among players with at least 26 minutes per game. Fantasy owners will probably not want to set their hopes too high for any Rockets power forward. Rotoworld.com

    • Jannero Pargo (back) out on Friday
Jannero Pargo (back) will not play on Friday.

Advice: He has low back soreness and the injury is not considered serious. Pargo doesn't get minutes anyway, so he's not worth owning in any league. Rotoworld.com

    • Martell Webster will not play on Thursday
Martell Webster (back) will not play on Thursday vs. the Knicks.

Advice: He is reportedly making a lot of progress and should be able to return soon. However, Webster likely won't be in the rotation anytime soon and can be left on the waiver wire in most leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Donatas Motiejunas likely headed to bench
Donatas Motiejunas will likely return to a bench role once Josh Smith signs with Houston Wednesday evening.

Advice: It really is a shame considering how well Motiejunas had done after filling in for Terrence Jones (leg) in the starting lineup, but it looks like his time for fantasy relevancy in standard leagues is coming to an end. Owners may want to give it a few games before making a decision, but we won't blame you if you decide to move on. Rotoworld.com

    • Josh Smith has committed to Houston Rockets
Josh Smith has committed to play for the Houston Rockets after he clears waivers at 5:00 pm EST.

Advice: Given his outstanding relationship with Dwight Howard and Houston's promise to put him in the starting lineup, this move was expected. It's a little interesting that the Rockets were so intrigued with Smith given how inefficient he is, but maybe he can turn things around and provide a boost to their playoff aspirations. Terrence Jones and Donatas Motiejunas' value takes a huge hit with this news, but owners should use a wait-and-see approach to see how things pan out. Rotoworld.com

    • J.R. Smith (heel) says he's doubtful Thursday
J.R. Smith (heel) said that he is unlikely to play on Christmas vs. the Wizards.

Advice: He is still dealing with plantar fasciitis so we doubt that he will be activated for Thursday. Smith can continue to be ignored outside of deeper leagues while Tim Hardaway Jr. is making a lot of sense in standard leagues for his 3-pointers. Rotoworld.com

    • Tristan Thompson likely starter for Cleveland
Tristan Thompson will likely step into the starting lineup after it was learned that Anderson Varejao has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a torn Achilles tendon.

Advice: Thompson is a capable big who can rebound and score, but he isn't the most efficient player on offense and doesn't register a lot of defensive stats with season averages of 0.9 blocks and 0.4 steals per game. However, he should be in line for a big boost in playing time and should be worth owning in all leagues moving forward. Varejao can be cut across the board. Rotoworld.com

    • Anderson Varejao (Achilles) done for season
Anderson Varejao suffered a torn Achilles tendon during Tuesday's game and has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Advice: This is terrible news for the Cavaliers and we wish Varejao all the best. This leaves Cleveland incredibly thin in their frontcourt and we expect them to be very aggressive in the trade market following this news. Tristan Thompson will likely step into the starting lineup and should be owned in all leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Deron Williams (calf) practices on Wednesday
Deron Williams (calf) was able to practice on Wednesday, and coach Lionel Hollins may bring him off of the bench against the Celtics on Friday.

Advice: He has missed Brooklyn's last two games with a slight calf strain but it is a good sing that he is already back practicing. Williams has two more days to heal up before their game against the Celtics so it appears that he has a good shot to play in that one, even if he does come off the bench. However, if he is held out of this game expect Jarrett Jack to continue to start in his place with Darius Morris also getting some extra minutes. Rotoworld.com

    • Anderson Varejao's injury doesn't look good
According to a source close to Anderson Varejao, his ankle injury does not look good at all and he is currently having an MRI.

Advice: This report comes from Adrian Wojnarowski, so there is definitely some credibility here. We should know the severity of the injury very shortly after the MRI, so we won't speculate as to what is going on. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • Houston to promise Josh Smith a starting spot
The Houston Rockets are assuring Josh Smith that he would be a starter if he signed on with them according to Marc Stein of ESPN.

Advice: Houston has emerged as the most likely destination for Smith, and this latest report would only solidify that. We will watch this situation very closely, as he is expected to clear waivers at 5:00 pm EST. His arrival would put a huge dent in the value of Donatas Motiejunas and Terrence Jones, so owners will want to stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • Jabari Parker gives himself a "C" for season
Jabari Parker gave himself a "C" for his performance in his rookie season.

Advice: "I don’t think that I did too well," Parker said. "I have the future to make up for it." While he is being a little too hard on himself, he should be able to come back even stronger next season and he is expected to make a full recovery. He finished his season with averages of 12.3 points, 5.5 boards, 1.7 assists and 1.2 steals in 30 minutes per game. Parker is expected to have surgery this week as soon as the swelling goes down, and we will continue to pass along updates as needed. Rotoworld.com

    • Deron Williams most likely Net to be traded
Deron Williams is the most likely player to be traded from the Nets according to Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News.

Advice: Bondy also reported that the trade talks between the Nets and Kings are not dead but are in "hibernation" for now. We will be sure to monitor this closely, but for now nothing appears to be imminent at the moment. One thing we do know is that Mason Plumlee won't be included in any deal as the Nets view him as one of their key assets moving forward. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • Anderson Varejao may have injured Achilles?
The Cavaliers are concerned that Anderson Varejao may have injured his left Achilles during Tuesday's game, according to Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today.

Advice: Varejao collapsed under the basket on Tuesday and couldn't put any weight on his leg while being helped off the court. He had a walking boot and crutches while leaving the arena and all signs point to an extended absence, but the Cavs have yet to officially diagnose the injury. Tristan Thompson should start at center if Varejao misses any games, though a long-term injury could prompt them to explore the trade market for available centers. Varejao should undergo further testing on Wednesday, so check back soon for updates. Rotoworld.com

    • Jeremy Lin plays well in Lakers win Tuesday
Jeremy Lin had a solid game on Tuesday in a win over the Warriors, finishing with 11 points, five assists, one board, three steals and three 3-pointers in 25 minutes.

Advice: Kobe Bryant was rested on Tuesday, so Lin got another chance to impress in extended minutes off of the bench. He has had a tough season in Los Angeles, but if the Lakers continue to fall behind in the Western Conference it wouldn't be surprising to see Lin's minutes trend upwards as Bryant's spiral down. • Andre Iguodala vanishes in season-low 15 min
Andre Iguodala played a season-low 15 minutes on Tuesday, scoring three points without any rebounds, assists, steals or blocks.

Advice: He also turned the ball over three times during his limited playing time, and this is an ominous development as his reduced minutes coincided with David Lee's return to a prominent role in coach Steve Kerr's rotation. Iguodala had picked up the pace over the past three games, chipping in enough 3-pointers, assists and steals to hold standard-league value, but he's best left on the waiver wire in most leagues. • Harrison Barnes quiet in 28 minutes vs. LAK
Harrison Barnes finished Tuesday's surprising loss to the Lakers with five points on 2-of-6 shooting, four rebounds and one block in 28 minutes.

Advice: He made one 3-pointer and he's likely to maintain 12-team fantasy value while starting for Golden State, but owners should keep a close eye on his role now that David Lee is healthy. The Warriors only have one more game this week and they're one of 14 teams that play only three times in Week 10, so Barnes' owners should brace themselves for limited production until the New Year. • Matt Barnes awful in Clips road loss to Hawks
Matt Barnes struggled in Tuesday's road loss, scoring six points on 1-of-6 shooting with one 3-pointer, two rebounds, two assists and one steal.

Advice: He played only 21 minutes and has been lousy over L.A.'s past three games, averaging 3.3 points on 23.1 percent shooting, 0.3 triples, 3.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.0 blocks. That three-game slump comes on the heels of a productive stretch during which he managed mid-round value. Rotoworld.com

    • Markieff Morris scores just nine points Tues
Markieff Morris scored just nine points on Tuesday vs. Dallas, adding four boards, four assists, four steals and one 3-pointer in 27 minutes.

Advice: Apart from the four steals, this line was rather disappointing as the Suns decided to go small for most of the game. Morris should be much better against the Kings on Friday, and his owners can expect him to have occasional bumps in the road like this one. That being said, he still belongs in all lineups. • Goran Dragic drops 25 points in win Tuesday
Goran Dragic dropped 25 points in Tuesday's win over the Mavericks, adding four assists, three boards, one steal and two 3-pointers in 39 minutes.

Advice: He recently said that his back was still a bit tight, but it didn't appear that way on Tuesday. Dragic was all over the place and it didn't look like he was limited at all. Regardless, owners should still check back for updates because he may be pretty sore after logging 39 minutes. For now, keep him active in all lineups. Rotoworld.com

    • Anderson Varejao (ankle) seen in walking boot
Anderson Varejao (ankle) was seen in a walking boot after Tuesday's game and was also using crutches.

Advice: Coach David Blatt said that he was dealing with some type of ankle issue and that he would be re-evaluated on Wednesday morning. It looks like Varejao may see some time on the sidelines so owners would be wise to have a backup plan ready. Tristan Thompson would likely draw the start on Thursday if Varejao can't play. • Anderson Varejao exits with leg/ankle injury
Anderson Varejao was helped to the Cavaliers' locker room after injuring his left leg/ankle during Tuesday's game, and will not return.

Advice: He collapsed under the basket and wasn't able to put any weight on his left leg as he headed off the court. The Cavaliers will re-evaluate him on Wednesday so owners will want to check back for updates. Tristan Thompson would likely shift into the starting lineup if the injury prevents Varejao from playing during Cleveland's back-to-back games on Thursday and Friday. Rotoworld.com

    • Deron Williams (calf) out Tuesday vs. Denver
Deron Williams (calf) will not suit up for Tuesday's game against the Nuggets.

Advice: It looks like Jarrett Jack will draw another start tonight, and he makes for an excellent plug-and-play option in daily leagues after going for 15 points and 10 assists in his last outing. The Nets don't play again until Friday vs. Boston, so we'll be considering Williams questionable for that one. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • Howard would love to see Josh Smith in HOU
Dwight Howard said he's already had some discussions with Josh Smith, and he would love to see his old friend in Houston.

Advice: Houston is very confident they will be able to land Smith, and if he does end up in a Rockets uniform, he's really going to hurt the value of Donatas Motiejunas and Terrence Jones (leg). The Kings, Clippers, Heat, and Mavs remain in the running, and Smith is expected to clear the NBA waiver process Wednesday at 5pm EST. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • J.R. Smith misses practice on Tuesday
J.R. Smith (heel) missed practice on Tuesday and appears to be questionable to play on Christmas.

Advice: "We’ll just see where they are tomorrow & then probably have a better feel how Thursday will look," coach Derek Fisher said. Smith's injury has kept him out for seven games and it's allowed Tim Hardaway Jr. to play more. Smith is not worth owning in standard leagues while THJ only has short-term value. Rotoworld.com

    • Deron Williams (calf) not likely dealt soon
The Kings and Nets trade talks have "virtually" died, according ton ESPN.com's Chris Broussard.

Advice: The Kings reportedly were more interested in Mason Plumlee than Williams, which is the opposite of what the Nets would want to do. Williams is unlikely to play on Tuesday due to a calf issue, so Jarrett Jack would be worth a look for short-term value. Rotoworld.com

    • Matt Barnes stays cold on Monday night
Matt Barnes scored just four points against the Spurs on Monday during a 125-118 loss with four rebounds, one assist and one steal.

Advice: He's not going to light up the scoring column, so nights like this are going to happen. If there's a player you don't think will last on the wire for long, it's not a bad idea to drop Barnes due to his inconsistent ways. Rotoworld.com

    • Rockets still in the lead to sign Josh Smith
Josh Smith has been linked to the Heat in addition to the Kings, Clippers and Mavericks, but the Rockets remain the apparent frontrunner to sign him once he clears waivers.

Advice: Miami has a clear need at PF with Josh McRoberts (knee) likely done for the season, and the Heat seem like a better fit than the Rockets, but Smith may be lured to Houston by the prospect of playing alongside Dwight Howard in the postseason. If he instead decides to sign with the Mavericks, beat writer Tim MacMahon reports that he'd fill Brandan Wright's former bench role -- Wright averaged under 19 minutes per game, so Dallas would be a poor fantasy destination for Smoove. • Martell Webster getting closer, out Tuesday
Martell Webster (back) almost went through a full practice on Monday, but will not play on Tuesday.

Advice: It sounds like he has a chance to play in 2014. Otto Porter Jr. was a mild disappointment to start the year, so Webster should be on the radar for owners need 3-pointers. Rasual Butler would lose a big chunk of his value. Rotoworld.com

    • Houston leading the way for Josh Smith
The Houston Rockets have emerged as the frontrunner for Josh Smith, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Advice: From an offensive standpoint, this makes zero sense. Smith gave himself the nickname Mid Range Shawty a couple years ago and the Rockets take less mid-range shots than any team. He reportedly was "fixated" on joining the Rockets, who have two improving power forwards in Donatas Motiejunas and Terrence Jones (leg). Owners in standard leagues might have an excuse to cut him now because he was just the No. 182nd player in those formats before today. Rotoworld.com

    • Deron Williams does not practice on Monday
Deron Williams (calf, dental procedure) did not practice on Monday.

Advice: Williams didn't play on Sunday due to the calf injury, so that's the reason for owners to be concerned. It doesn't appear D-Will's calf injury is serious, but given the issues with his ankles, we'd like to see Williams avoid any issues with the lower half. Jarrett Jack will start and be a solid plug-and-play option for however long Williams sits, and it's not a lock Williams returns on Tuesday against Denver. Rotoworld.com

    • Goran Dragic's back still not 100 percent
Goran Dragic's back is still not 100 percent healthy.

Advice: "Sometimes, I feel a little bit tight, but that's normal," Dragic said. Jeff Hornacek added, "Goran is probably hurt still, but he's not going to tell us because he wants to play." A lingering back issue is a reason for fantasy owners to have concern, but it doesn't sound serious at this point. Rotoworld.com

    • Pistons pull plug on Josh Smith experiment
      Pistons waive F Josh Smith.

Advice: It's a stunning move from the Pistons, and an admission that the free-agent signing never made sense to begin with when the move was made. Still owed $27 million after this season, Detroit will use the stretch provision to remove Smith from the roster. When Stan Van Gundy said the Pistons were going to prioritize the future, he wasn't kidding. Greg Monroe should become the starting power forward in Detroit for now, but it doesn't seem like the Pistons are done making moves. The Kings, Clippers, Rockets and Mavericks are expected to have interest when Smith clears waivers. Rotoworld.com

    • JR Smith more than just 'day-to-day w/ foot
JR Smith (foot) could be facing more than just a "day-to-day" situation.

Advice: Derek Fisher said Smith "may not have been day-to-day," but the Knicks listed him that way anyway on the medical report. Fisher then attempted to clarify with the following: "I think it's day-to-day. From the beginning, it may not have been day-to-day. It was probably going to be a few weeks or so." • Jeremy Lin plays just 21 minutes off of bench
Jeremy Lin played just 21 minutes off the bench on Sunday vs. the Kings, ending the game with four points, five assists and three boards.

Advice: Coach Byron Scott is sticking to his plan of keeping Ronnie Price in the starting lineup for now, and Lin's value continues to plummet. Lin may redeem himself later on if the Lakers opt to rest Kobe Bryant down the stretch, but for now owners in standard leagues should look for another option. Rotoworld.com

    • Josh Smith racks up stats w/ poor percentages
Josh Smith posted 13 points, five rebounds, six assists, three steals and three blocks in just 28 minutes on Sunday, but he also shot 5-of-16 from the field and 3-of-6 from the FT line.

Advice: If percentages count in your league, you should have come to terms with Smoove's fantasy deficiencies long ago. For everyone else his across-the-board production and defensive stats are fantasy gold, and he's seemingly in no danger of losing his starting job to backup big man Greg Monroe. Rotoworld.com

    • Markieff Morris scores 17 points in win Sun
Markieff Morris scored 17 points in a win over the Wizards on Sunday, but added just two boards, one assist and one 3-pointer in 36 minutes.

Advice: Apart from his scoring, this was quite a disappointing line from him considering he played 36 minutes. Morris has still been producing early-round value in standard leagues, but owners can expect a few bumps in the road along the way. Keep him active in all lineups. Rotoworld.com

    • Anderson Varejao hits 9-of-12 FGs for 18 pts
Anderson Varejao poured in 18 efficient points during Sunday's win over the Grizzlies, adding seven rebounds and two assists in 27 minutes.

Advice: AV made 9-of-12 field goals without committing any turnovers, and this was his second-highest scoring game of the season (trailing only a 23-point outburst in mid-November). He's averaging a modest 25.0 minutes per game this year but that's been enough for late-round value in 8-cat/9-cat leagues. Rotoworld.com

Martell Webster (back) will not play Sunday vs. the Suns.

Advice: Webster is nearing a return, but Sunday will not be the day. We'll consider him questionable for Tuesday's game vs. Chicago, but with Paul Pierce and Bradley Beal healthy, there's not much reason to give him any attention in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Deron Williams (calf) out Sunday vs. Detroit
Deron Williams (calf) will not suit up for Sunday's game vs. the Pistons, and Jarret Jack will draw the start.

Advice: Deron's calf injury isn't expected to be serious, but he does usually take a bit longer to recover from injuries than your average player. Jack looks like a solid add in most leagues, and he'll serve as a quality plug-and-play option in daily leagues as long as he's starting. Rotoworld.com

    • J.R. Smith (heel) could be out another week?
Derek Fisher was not optimistic when asked about J.R. Smith (heel), and speculated that he could be out another week in order to rest his heel.

Advice: For as long as Smith is sidelined, Tim Hardaway Jr. will continue to soak up all his minutes, and he should be owned in most leagues. Over the past two weeks, Hardaway Jr. is averaging 15.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.8 three-pointers per game over 29 minutes of action and he has almost zero competition for minutes. J.R. Smith (heel) is out for Sunday's game vs. Toronto.

    • Martell Webster (back) could play on Sunday
Martell Webster (back) could return to action as soon as Sunday against the Suns.

Advice: He has yet to play this season after coming off of his third back surgery in his career, so it will be great to see back out on the floor. He was seen getting up shots at practice on Saturday for a couple of hours, and he is reportedly feeling good. If he doesn't make his season debut Sunday, his next chance to play would be on Tuesday vs. the Bulls. However, Webster will likely be eased back into the rotation, and he won't see a lot of minutes while Paul Pierce and Otto Porter are healthy. Webster can be ignored in most leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Goran Dragic to keep open mind in free agency
Goran Dragic will keep an open mind if he enters free agency in the offseason.

Advice: "It's still early to talk about that," Dragic said. "Right now, I want to be 100 percent focused on the team and try to help the team and players. In the offseason, I'm going to probably sit down with my family first and with my agent and try to explore all the options. From there, I'll try to choose the one best for me." There is no doubt that Dragic is an elite point guard, and he will definitely draw some major interest from several different teams. It would not be surprising to see some teams try to pry him away at the trade deadline if the Suns don't feel like Dragic will return, but for now nothing is close to developing and we will pass along updates as needed. • Matt Barnes lays a goose egg
Matt Barnes did not score against the Bucks on Saturday with five rebounds and four assists.

Advice: He had 16 points on Friday and went the other way tonight. Barnes was putting up No. 65 fantasy value over the past two weeks, so there is enough upside to cut him some slack unless it's to grab a hot free agent. Rotoworld.com

    • Donatas Motiejunas finally struggling
Donatas Motiejunas scored eight points with seven rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 25 minutes against the Hawks on Saturday.

Advice: He's made just 8-of-24 (33.3 percent) from the field in his last two and has finally slowed down. This is probably good news for the Terrence Jones (leg) stashers out there and Motiejunas may have some trouble holding value in a few weeks. If there is an irresistible guy on the wire, D-Mo's ceiling isn't too high anyway. Rotoworld.com

    • Nets discussing Deron Williams trade to Kings
The Nets are in trade talks with the Kings over former All-Star point guard Deron Williams.

Advice: Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting it, so we know that there is some traction here. Talks are reportedly ongoing, but it is still unclear what other players are involved. Darren Collison would likely have to be included in any deal, but one obstacle to the talks is Sacramento's desire to obtain Mason Plumlee, who the Nets are enamored with. • Martell Webster still on schedule for return
Martell Webster (back) is on schedule to return to action this month.

Advice: He is going to have a minutes limit when he is able to play. Webster is a tremendous fit for the Wizards and he flourished last season while Bradley Beal was out. He'll have to fend off Rasual Butler for playing time, so most owners can take a wait-and-see approach. Rotoworld.com

    • Goran Dragic has a quiet game on Saturday
Goran Dragic had a sub-par game against the Knicks on Saturday with 10 points, one rebound, two assists and one steal in 31 minutes.

Advice: He was barely utilized in halfcourt sets and had a major chunk of his buckets in transition. Dragic is playing more with Isaiah Thomas and Eric Bledsoe a bit more and he should be a little better than this. Still, he's not going to come close to his fantasy value from last season. Additionally, CBS Sports reports that Dragic is the least likely to be traded. Rotoworld.com

Markieff Morris scored 19 points with five rebounds, one steal and one 3-pointer in 33 minutes against the Knicks on Saturday.

Advice: He bounced back from his Wednesday ejection nicely. Markieff scored 12 points in the third quarter and played down the stretch with the three-point guard lineup. He does have some bad games, but he's still producing early-round value in standard leagues. He'll be fine. Rotoworld.com

    • Deron Williams has calf strain, doubtful Sun
Deron Williams was diagnosed with a low-grade calf strain after an MRI on Saturday, and is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game.

Advice: This is good news, and the Nets are optimistic that he won't miss too much time. Williams obviously didn't practice on Saturday, but he is expected to be evaluated daily. Check back before tip-off on Sunday, but don't count on him playing in this one. Jarrett Jack would be the main beneficiary if Williams sits, and is worth a look in most leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Deron Williams (calf) not practicing Saturday
Deron Williams (calf) is not practicing on Saturday, and we still waiting on the results of his MRI.

Advice: He strained his calf on Friday, and there is no word on how severe it is. If he misses any time, Jarrett Jack will become a must-own player. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • J.R. Smith (heel) out for Saturday's game
J.R. Smith (heel) will not play in Saturday's game vs. the Suns.

Advice: Coach Derek Fisher added that he didn't think Smith would travel for Sunday's game against the Raptors, so it is clear that his heel has become a big problem for him. Tim Hardaway Jr. will continue to start for the Knicks and is worth a long look in most leagues. Smith can be cut in all but the deepest of leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Lin gets going in loss to the Thunder
Jeremy Lin scored 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting with eight rebounds and five assists in 22 minutes off the bench on Friday.

Advice: Lin didn't hit a three or record a steal or block but this is a reminder that he is capable of being a fantasy asset. He's going to be inconsistent and probably a late-round guy as long as he doesn't face-plant, but if Kobe Bryant ever decides this season isn't worth blowing out the odometer then Lin could get hot real quick. • Barnes gets back on track in loss to Denver
Matt Barnes bounced back from an off-night to score 16 points on 8-of-10 shooting (no threes) with four rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 35 minutes on Friday against the Nuggets.

Advice: Barnes has been a solid mid-round value lately and he should remain in all lineups. J.J. Redick scored just eight points with one trey, two boards and two assists, but he has been serviceable lately and owners might want to give him at least one night of slack. Rotoworld.com

    • D-Will: Doctor said calf injury not 'too bad'
Deron Williams said doctors told him that his calf injury wasn't "too bad," and he'll get an MRI on Saturday for further evaluation.

Advice: "It was already hurting in the first quarter," Williams said. "It just felt like my calf was tight. I went out and stretched it a little bit, went back in and … I can’t remember who I passed the ball to, but I jumped up and passed in the air and when I landed, I kind of landed on my toe and there was a sharp pain right to the spot that was tight before." Williams added that he did not know the severity of the injury, and anybody considering Jarrett Jack as an add might want to look at this injury more as day-to-day than week-to-week. Rotoworld.com

    • Varejao plays just 17 minutes on Friday
Anderson Varejao played just 17 minutes in Friday's win, scoring seven points on 1-of-4 shooting with five rebounds and one block.

Advice: Varejao has been ice-cold lately and though he's returning late-round value on the season, with limited upside as well as durability issues owners shouldn't be attached to him in 12-team formats. Rotoworld.com

    • J.R. Smith (foot) doubtful Saturday vs. PHO
J.R. Smith (foot) is being listed as doubtful for Saturday's game vs. the Suns.

Advice: Smith has been a train wreck this season, and given his obvious struggles with grasping the triangle offense, he shouldn't be viewed as a stash candidate in standard leagues. If he's unable to go Saturday, Tim Hardaway Jr. will get all the minutes he can handle, and he'd make for a quality option in daily leagues. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • Harrison Barnes getting a face procedure
Harrison Barnes will have a minor procedure on his nose on Friday, but doesn't expect to miss time.

Advice: He played well against the Thunder on Thursday with 12 points, seven rebounds, one assist, two steals and two 3-pointers in 34 minutes. Barnes is a low-end player to hold in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com
      Thursday, 10:59 pm
    • Donatas Motiejiunas finally has a bad game
Donatas Motiejunas had an overdue dud on Thursday against the Pelicans with nine points, four rebounds and two assists in 23 minutes.

Advice: He got a front-row seat to watch Anthony Davis destroy him and he gets a pass here. Motiejunas made an impressive 56.7 percent from the field in his previous 10 for 16.6 points per game, so expect him to turn it around on Saturday against the Hawks. Rotoworld.com

    • Jabari Parker suffered a 'slight' ACL tear
Jabari Parker reportedly suffered a "slight" ACL tear, and he won't have surgery for at least a week as they're waiting for the swelling in his knee to subside.

Advice: Parker remains out for the season, and we wish him a speedy recovery. The Bucks have been bit by the injury bug hard this season with Giannis Antetokounmpo (ankle), Ersan Ilyasova (nose), and John Henson (foot) all on the injury report, but those are the guys that will be asked to pick up the slack with Parker sidelined. Antetokounmpo is being listed as questionable for Thursday, but he'll be a nice plug-and-play option if he can give it a go. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • Markieff Morris lets emotions get best of him
Markieff Morris said his ejection during Wednesday's win over the Hornets stemmed from his emotions getting the best of him.

Advice: Of his ejection that occurred in the second half after two technical fouls that were two minutes and 33 seconds apart, Morris said, "I let my emotions get the best of me, which wasn't right." Morris shouldn't face suspension for his ejection and was still able to score 13 points with eight rebounds and one 3-pointer, so there will be better days to come for his fantasy owners. • Goran Dragic missing second half stamina
After missing two games with a lower back strain, Goran Dragic said his stamina wasn't there during the second half of Wednesday's win over the Hornets.

Advice: Dragic only scored four points in the second half of the win after pouring in 16 in the first half, but it was a good sign for fantasy owners to see him back on the court nevertheless. With his back issues seemingly behind him, the 28-year-old will be able to put full games together and should provide his fantasy owners with top-50 value for the rest of the season. Rotoworld.com

    • Donatas Motiejunas keeps the party going
Donatas Motiejunas was fantastic against the Nuggets on Wednesday with 18 points, six rebounds, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers in 42 minutes.

Advice: Terrence Jones (leg) is at least getting some shots up at practice, so he's at least on his way back. There is still no timetable for his return, so Motiejunas is good to go as a must-start guy right now. Keep him roster and cross the TJ bridge when you get to it. Rotoworld.com

    • Matt Barnes disappears in win over Pacers
Matt Barnes hit just 1-of-3 shots for three points, two rebounds, four assists and a block in 31 minutes on Wednesday.

Advice: He came in sort of hot, but never got it going tonight. He's been playing much better over the last two weeks, so we fully expect him to bounce back in his next game. Rotoworld.com
      Wednesday, 11:49 pm
    • Goran Dragic scores 20 points in return
Goran Dragic looked terrific in his return against the Hornets on Wednesday, scoring 20 points with three rebounds, eight assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 37 minutes.

Advice: He missed the previous two games due to a strained back and was his aggressive self tonight. Dragic was really turning it on while Isaiah Thomas was out earlier this month and that might be due to his mentality and not because of the personnel. He should be able to flirt with top-50 value. • Josh Smith benched for hot Jerebko
Josh Smith played just had seven points, two rebounds, four assists, three steals and a block on Wednesday, but also had four fouls and played just 19 minutes in the loss to Dallas.

Advice: Jonas Jerebko played just 13 minutes, but hit 5-of-5 shots, 1-of-1 3-pointers and 2-of-2 free throws to finish with 13 points and two rebounds. Stan Van Gundy said after the game he stuck with the hot Jerebko and left Smith on the bench. Jerebko isn't going to be this hot on most nights, so don't panic if you own Smoove, who is also rumored to still possibly be heading to the Kings at some point this season. Rotoworld.com
      Wednesday, 8:42 pm
    • Markieff Morris tossed for 2 technical fouls
Markieff Morris was ejected for two technical fouls against the Hornets on Wednesday.

Advice: He started slow, but had it going as he was ejected for arguing with a ref. Morris finished with 13 points, eight rebounds and one 3-pointer on 6-of-10 from the field. He won't be suspended and hopefully he keeps his temper in check against the Knicks on Saturday. Rotoworld.com
      Wednesday, 5:50 pm
    • Goran Dragic (back) will start Wednesday
Goran Dragic (back) will start on Wednesday vs. Charlotte.

Advice: After missing the previous two games, Dragic is back and his owners can safely activate him in their lineups. He has a favorable matchup against the Hornets, and should be in for a nice night if his back doesn't flare up on him. Gerald Green will shift back to the bench on Wednesday, while Isaiah Thomas' value takes a slight hit with this news. Rotoworld.com
      Wednesday, 2:19 pm
    • Kings are still interested in Josh Smith
The Kings are still interested in acquiring Josh Smith from the Pistons.

Advice: This rumor popped up over the summer and it was only a matter of time before it picked up steam considering how poorly the Pistons have played. Smith is playing a little better these days, so the Pistons should justifiably be asking for a fair amount. He would likely lose a touch of value with a trade, especially to Sacramento with Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins there. Rotoworld.com

    • J.R. Smith (foot) won't play on Thursday
J.R. Smith (foot) will not play in Thursday's game vs. the Bulls.

Advice: It will be his fifth straight game out of the lineup and it is becoming pretty evident that this injury has become a real issue for him. Smith isn't worth owning in standard leagues as he has failed to succeed in the triangle offense and it is unclear when he will return to action. Tim Hardaway Jr. will play all the minutes he can handle Thursday and is worth a look in most leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Goran Dragic (back) probable for Wednesday
Goran Dragic (back) is probable for Wednesday's game after going through shootaround.

Advice: He has missed the last two games after his back flared up on him during Friday's game vs. the Pistons, but he appeared to turn the corner and should be good to go Wednesday. Dragic has a favorable matchup against the reeling Hornets, and owners will want to get him active in their lineups. Gerald Green will likely shift back to the bench Wednesday and Isaiah Thomas will also see a decrease in minutes. Rotoworld.com

    • Harrison Barnes wears face mask in loss
Harrison Barnes played through his facial injury on Tuesday wearing a mask, and finished with eight points, 11 rebounds, a block and a 3-pointer as the Warriors saw their 16-game winning streak come to a halt in Memphis.

Advice: Barnes likely would have fared better without the obtrusive mask, but he was effective while helping to make up for the loss of Andrew Bogut. It looks like Barnes dodged a bullet with this injury and is still a guy we're in favor of owning across the board right now. Rotoworld.com

    • Jabari Parker is out for season with torn ACL
Jabari Parker is out for the remainder of the season with a torn ACL.

Advice: This is brutal news for the promising rookie and we wish him nothing but the best. Parker will finish his rookie season with averages of 12.3 points, 5.5 boards, 1.7 assists and 1.2 steals in 30 minutes per game. Outside of keeper leagues, Parker can be cut across the board while Giannis Antetokounmpo will see an increase in his minutes and should be owned in all leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Jabari Parker (knee) headed back to Milwaukee
Jabari Parker (knee) has left the Bucks on their current road trip to return to Milwaukee where he'll get an MRI.

Advice: We'll be awaiting the results of his MRI, and will pass along updates as soon as they become available. The Bucks don't return to Milwaukee until Dec. 23, so Jabari could be sidelined for the rest of the week. Giannis Antetokounmpo is going to get plenty of opportunity as long as Jabari is out, and Ersan Ilyasova (nose) will be a name to watch when he's able to return to the rotation. Stay tuned. • J.R. Smith (foot) out Tuesday vs. Dallas
J.R. Smith (foot) will not suit up for Tuesday's game against the Mavericks, and his status for Thursday's game vs. Chicago remains uncertain.

Advice: That means that Tim Hardway Jr. will get all the minutes he can handle, and he'll make for a quality plug-and-play option in daily leagues. Hardaway Jr. has gone for 18, 16, and 23 points in his last three outings while seeing his minutes in the 30s, and with Smith's status uncertain for Thursday, he makes for a decent add in most leagues. • Harrison Barnes will play Tuesday vs Grizz
Harrison Barnes (mouth) will play against the Grizzlies on Tuesday.

Advice: Barnes will play with a generic protective mask after receiving two stitches to his mouth and said that he will get fitted for a custom mask once the Warriors return home. Fantasy owners can feel free to start Barnes as they normally would, while Andre Iguodala misses out on the value boost he would've had if Barnes missed Tuesday's game. Rotoworld.com

    • Jabari Parker's X-rays come back negative
X-rays on Jabari Parker's left knee came back negative, according to Gery Woelfel of the Racine Journal Times.

Advice: This doesn't mean we're out of the woods just yet as Parker will still have an MRI on what is currently believed to be a knee strain on Tuesday. If Parker is forced to miss extended time, Giannis Antetokounmpo would become a must-own player in all fantasy leagues while Khris Middleton and Ersan Ilyasova (nose) would also see a boost to their minutes. Matt Barnes scored 10 points on 3-of-7 shooting (including three triples) with two rebounds, three assists and one steal over 24 minutes in Monday's blowout win over the Pistons.

Advice: Barnes is on a roll with top-50 value over the last two weeks, averaging 14.5 points with 2.2 treys, 1.7 combined steals and blocks, 53.2 percent field goal shooting and 88.9 percent shooting from the line. Pick him up in all standard formats and hope he doesn't faceplant. Rotoworld.com

    • Markieff Morris scores 25 points vs. Bucks
Markieff Morris made 9-of-13 from the field for 25 points with seven rebounds, three assists, two 3-pointers and six turnovers against the Bucks on Monday.

Advice: He had an awful game against the Thunder due to foul trouble and bounced back nicely in 37 minutes. Morris has seen his fouls go up recently, but it's still not enough to be alarmed. He's posting top-30 total value on the season and there's no reason to think he won't be in that neighborhood at season's end. Rotoworld.com

    • Lin hits rock bottom in Monday's blowout loss
Jeremy Lin missed all six of his shots and finished with two points and one assist in 17 minutes off the bench in Monday's blowout loss.

Advice: Lin has been an inconsistent mess this season but the fact remains that he's still putting up late-round value in 12-team leagues and probably at the low-end of his productivity potential. We wouldn't blame you if you dropped him, but with very little true point guard competition it wouldn't be surprising if he's back in fantasy lineups at some point. Rotoworld.com
      Dec 15, 9:54 pm
    • Thompson posts empty line on Monday
Tristan Thompson scored 10 points with five rebounds in 25 minutes on Monday.

    • Jabari Parker diagnosed with knee sprain
Jabari Parker suffered a knee sprain on Monday and will not return.

Advice: Based on his demeanor, Parker is looking at a long period of time on the sidelines. He was on the court for a while and couldn't put any weight on his leg. The team will give him an MRI tomorrow. Giannis Antetokounmpo should be owned in all leagues while Ersan Ilyasova is a good bet to start once he's back. Rotoworld.com

    • Goran Dragic will not play on Monday
Goran Dragic (back) will not play against the Bucks on Monday.

Advice: His back flared up on him on Friday and he missed Sunday, so he could miss additional time. Although, it's somewhat encouraging that the Suns ruled him out just a little over an hour before the game started. With Dragic out, expect to see more of Eric Bledsoe handling the offense. Gerald Green and Isaiah Thomas also get upticks. Rotoworld.com

    • Harrison Barnes is questionable for Tuesday
Harrison Barnes (mouth) is questionable to play against the Grizzlies on Tuesday, but coach Steve Kerr said he'd be shocked if Barnes doesn't play.

Advice: He had a visit to the dentist on Monday and needed two stitches to his mouth, but chances are he'll be able to play. The Warriors only have two games this week, so Barnes isn't an option in weekly leagues. Andre Iguodala would benefit sans Barnes. Rotoworld.com

    • J.R. Smith (plantar fasciitis) skips practice
J.R. Smith (foot) did not practice on Monday.

Advice: Smith was announced as a starter on Sunday, but then he was ruled out just moments before tipoff. Considering he's dealing with a plantar fascia tear, it's going to be an issue of pain tolerance for Smith that will determine his availability moving forward. With Iman Shumpert (shoulder) already out, Tim Hardaway Jr. could soon find himself playing big minutes after logging 30-plus in each of his last two. Rotoworld.com

Goran Dragic's back initially flared up on him on Friday against the Pistons.

Advice: "You get cold and it's more stiff," Dragic said. "It was better (Saturday) when we did therapy. (Sunday), we didn't have practice and it is even tighter." Dragic should be considered questionable to play on Monday against the Bucks, and if he can't give it a go, look for Isaiah Thomas and Eric Bledsoe to make up for Dragic's absence, with Gerald Green collecting some extra time as well. • Harrison Barnes getting teeth fixed Monday
Harrison Barnes is visiting the dentist to get his teeth fixed on Monday.

Advice: Barnes also needed two stitches in his mouth, and the exact dental work he'll need is to be determined when he goes in on Monday. We'll mark him sidelined considering he needs a dental procedure, but it wouldn't be surprising if he doesn't miss any time. He returned to action on Sunday after getting the stitches. Rotoworld.com

    • J. Kidd heaps praise all over Jabari Parker
Jason Kidd praised Jabari Parker's performance after battling Blake Griffin in Saturday's win over the Clippers.

Advice: "I don't judge on first or second (halves)," Kidd said. "I just look at the complete game and I thought he did a great job against one of the top players in the world in Blake (Griffin)." Griffin had just 10 points on 4-of-12 shooting in 39 minutes, while Parker had 12 points and five rebounds on 6-of-11 shooting. Parker didn't score in the second half, but Kidd was pleased with the rookie's performance. Expect some inconsistencies to continue, but Parker is trending in the right direction. Rotoworld.com

    • Markieff Morris scores four points in loss
Markieff Morris scored just four points in Sunday's loss to the Thunder, adding one rebound in 10 minutes.

Advice: It was by far his worst game of the season, and the low minutes occurred due to the fact that he had five fouls in 10 minutes. Morris' owners should give him a break after this dud, as he has managed to post early-round value in what has been his breakout season. Expect him to bounce back against the Bucks on Monday. • Jeremy Lin quiet in 20 minutes vs. Wolves
Jeremy Lin came off L.A.'s bench again on Sunday, finishing a 100-94 road win vs. the Timberwolves with eight points, three rebounds, six assists and two steals in 20 minutes.

Advice: The low playing time is a serious concern, but Lin was coming off a 14-point, eight-assist performance in 30 minutes on Friday and he has enough upside to be worth holding a few more weeks. There are no guarantees that Ronnie Price (two points, two assists in 25 minutes) will keep the starting PG job, though immediate changes are unlikely with the Lakers riding a three-game win streak. • Andre Iguodala drops 20 points in OT road win
Andre Iguodala scored double-digit points for the first time in nine games on Sunday, making 7-of-12 field goals with three 3-pointers to finish with 20 points.

Advice: He added five rebounds but had zero assists, steals or blocks in 38 minutes. The increased playing time is interesting but likely unsustainable, as his 25-30 minute bench role hasn't been sufficient for reliable value. Iguodala is averaging a career-low 6.3 points per game this season and David Lee's impending return is yet another threat to his playing time. Rotoworld.com
      Dec 14, 6:21 pm
    • Harrison Barnes conspicuously quiet on Sunday
Harrison Barnes finished Sunday's overtime win in New Orleans with only two points on 1-of-3 shooting, in addition to four rebounds and two assists in 29 minutes.

Advice: Barnes has quietly been a top-100 value this season (even higher in nine-cat leagues) and this off-game isn't worth fretting over for fantasy purposes. The return of David Lee is a mild concern, as Lee could steal a few minutes from Barnes, but the minor dent in playing time shouldn't prevent him from being a dependable option. Rotoworld.com

    • Harrison Barnes (face) returns to game Sun
Harrison Barnes suffered a laceration to his mouth during Sunday's game that required two stitches, and he has since returned.

Advice: He appears to be fine and owners should have no concerns moving forward. Barnes has improved tremendously from last season and has been a key part of the Warriors this season, so keep him active in all lineups. Rotoworld.com

    • Matt Barnes fined $25,000 in Friday's loss
Matt Barnes was fined $25,000 in Friday's loss to the Wizards after he kicked a water bottle into the stands and used profane language to the fans.

Advice: This has become very typical for Barnes, as he loves playing the villain role in the NBA. If anything, this incident must have a lit a fire under him considering he responded with his best game of the season on Saturday, scoring a season-high 26 points with one board, two steals, one block and six 3-pointers. If you are in need of a player, Barnes is worth a look as long as he continues to start for the Clippers. Rotoworld.com

    • Donatas Motiejunas scores 25 points vs. DEN
Donatas Motiejunas scored a career-high 25 points against the Nuggets on Saturday with five rebounds, one assist, one steal and two 3-pointers in 32 minutes.

Advice: Well, so much for Dwight Howard affecting him negatively. Motiejunas has been hot in his last five, averaging 17.2 points, 6.8 boards, 1.0 blocks and 0.4 triples on 53.7 percent from the field. It should be interesting to see what happens when Terrence Jones makes his return. For now, both players are worth owning in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com
