    • Thunder decline team option
The Thunder declined Joe's $2.1 million team option Saturday, but the team is expected to work with the 24-year-old on a long-term deal, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Joe proved to be a solid contributor in his second season with the Thunder, during which he averaged 8.2 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists across 18.5 minutes. The 24-year-old also got the starting nod in the team's final two playoff games, and he is expected to return on a long-term deal that will be agreed upon when free agency opens in July. By doing this, the Thunder allow themselves to spend $30 million before potentially re-signing both Joe and Aaron Wiggins. Joe has produced his two best years with OKC and shot a career-high 41.6 percent from deep in 2023-24. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:22 pm
    • Stays in Atlanta
The Hawks exercised Mathews' $2.23 million team option for the 2024-25 season Saturday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.

Advice: In his first full season with Atlanta in 2023-24, Mathews averaged 4.9 points, 1.4 rebounds, 1.3 three-pointers and 0.6 assists across 15.0 minutes in 66 regular-season games. While he doesn't project to see a major increase in playing time heading into Year 2 in Atlanta, Mathews' perimeter-shooting skills make him a valuable reserve. He connected on 44 percent of his attempts from downtown last season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:55 am
    • Report: ATL exercise Garrison Mathews team option
According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, the Hawks have picked up Garrison Mathews’ option for the 2024-25 season.

Advice: After shooting a career-high 44.0% from three last season, Mathews’ option has been picked up by the Hawks. While Atlanta has added Zaccharie Risacher (draft) and Dyson Daniels (reported trade) this week, Mathews’ 3-point shooting ability will allow him to earn rotation minutes next season. However, he only played 15.0 minutes per game last season, so fantasy managers should not consider him a “must-draft” player in most leagues. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:52 am
    • Headed for free agency
The Pistons didn't extend Flynn a $5.81 million qualifying offer Saturday, making him an unrestricted free agent, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.

Advice: Flynn notably dropped 50 points off the bench in an April 3 game Atlanta, but that was essentially the only highlight of his season. All told, the 26-year-old averaged 5.5 points, 1.9 assists and 1.7 rebounds across 12.7 minutes in 69 regular-season games while bouncing around between the Raptors, Knicks and Pistons. Flynn will look to catch on elsewhere in free agency as a reserve guard. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:03 am
    • Gets qualifying offer
The Lakers tendered a qualifying offer to Christie on Saturday, making him a restricted free agent, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.

Advice: By extending Christie a qualifying offer, the Lakers will have the ability to match any offer the 21-year-old guard might receive from another team in free agency. The 21-year-old appeared in 67 regular-season games in his second NBA campaign in 2023-24, averaging 4.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.9 assists across 14.1 minutes per game. • Expected to enter free agency
The Clippers won't tender a $2.48 million qualifying offer to Boston on Saturday, making him an unrestricted free agent, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Advice: The No. 51 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Boston appeared in 51 regular-season contests as a rookie, but he didn't see his role expand in any of the subsequent two seasons. The 22-year-old ended up making just 32 appearances in 2023-24, averaging 5.2 points, 1.6 rebounds, 0.4 assists and 0.3 steals across 10.8 minutes per contest. Boston is still young, and he will likely garner interest as a player who has potential as a rotational player moving forward. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:10 am
    • Woj: LAC will not tender QO to Brandon Boston Jr.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Clippers will not tender Brandon Boston Jr. a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Advice: Boston, the 51st overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, played a limited role during his three seasons with the Clippers. His minutes per game average decreased each season, with the athletic wing playing 10.8 minutes in 32 appearances last season. Boston’s exit will not significantly impact the Clippers’ rotation or fantasy basketball leagues. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:55 am
    • Not retained by Orlando
The Magic declined to extend Harris a $1.87 million qualifying offer Friday, making him an unrestricted free agent, Chris Haynes of Turner Sports reports.

Advice: Harris spent the past two seasons in Orlando after striking a two-year, two-way deal with the Magic in the summer of 2022. He appeared in 34 games with Orlando in 2022-23, but with the club becoming more competitive and reaching the playoffs in 2023-24, Harris was often inactive and saw action in just two contests at the NBA level. Harris was solid at G League level with the Osceola Magic in 2023-24 -- he averaged 16.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.9 three-pointers and 1.0 steals in 28.8 minutes per game while shooting 49.2 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from three-point range over 27 appearances -- but since he already turned 27 years old earlier this month, it's unlikely that another organization will view him as a development piece worthy of a two-way spot during the upcoming season. • Ticketed for free agency
Quinones will become an unrestricted free agent after the Warriors declined Friday to extend him a $2.29 million qualifying offer, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.

Advice: Quinones had spent the better part of the last two seasons as a two-way player for the Warriors, but Golden State upgraded him to a one-year, standard NBA contract in February. While Quinones was eligible to compete in the postseason as a result of the adjustment to his contract, it put him in line for a bump in pay in 2024-25, and the Warriors apparently weren't willing to keep him around on a $2.29 million salary. Quinones averaged only 4.4 points, 1.9 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 0.9 three-pointers in 10.6 minutes per game while shooting just 39.7 percent from the field over his 37 appearances for Golden State in 2023-24, but he was a top-notch performer at the G League level the past two seasons and demonstrated impressive positional versatility. Golden State could still look to bring him back on another two-way deal or on a non-guaranteed contract, but Quinones will first canvas the open market and see if he can find a better opportunity elsewhere.
