    • Shams: Hawks send Dejounte Murray to Pelicans
      The Hawks have traded Dejounte Murray to the Pelicans in exchange for Larry Nance Jr., Dyson Daniels and two first round picks, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

      Advice: Atlanta has officially broken up the point guard duo of Trae Young and Dejounte, which means that both should be elite fantasy options this season. Dejounte’s arrival in New Orleans will take the ball out of CJ McCollum’s hands and shift him to more of an off-ball role. Plenty more can still change, as Brandon Ingram is still expected to be moved. For the Hawks, Dejounte’s departure will open up minutes for Kobe Bufkin, as well as Daniels. Nance should fill in as the backup center, and it wouldn’t be surprising if they traded Clint Capela at some point this summer. The picks they acquired are the Lakers’ first rounder next season, as well as the least favorable first rounder between the Pelicans and Bucks in 2027.       Advice: A key piece in the Nuggets' run to the NBA title in 2022-23, Brown struggled to take hold of a larger role in Indiana to begin the season and then with the Raptors, who acquired him from the Pacers in January. Following the trade to Toronto, Brown appeared in 34 games and averaged 9.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.6 three-pointers in 26.1 minutes per contest. Despite his underwhelming production in Toronto, the Raptors still saw enough value in Brown's defensive versatility to retain him at a $23 million salary. If nothing else, the sizable expiring contract will make Brown a valuable trade piece in helping Toronto facilitate a potential deal during the upcoming season.       Okogie declined his $2.96 million player option for the 2024-25 season and enter unrestricted free agency, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.

      Advice: Evan Sidery of Forbes.com previously reported that Okogie planned to exercise his option and remain with the Suns, but Gerald Bourguet of GoPHNX.com relays the Suns want to re-sign Okogie to a slightly larger deal. Declining the player option is the first step in setting in motion a return to Phoenix on a larger deal, though Okogie will surely listen to what other offers might exist for him in free agency before putting pen to paper on a new deal with the Suns. Okogie had a reduced role for Phoenix during the 2023-24 campaign, averaging 4.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 16.0 minutes across 60 regular-season appearances. The 25-year-old finished the season without a spot in former head coach Frank Vogel's rotation, but Okogie could re-establish himself under new coach Mike Budenholzer if he does in fact stick around in Phoenix. Over 51 total appearances during the regular season last year, he averaged 7.0 points and 2.0 rebounds in 20.1 minutes per game. He'll attempt to carve out a role off the bench in Dallas after the team cleared some cap space by trading Hardaway. Over 79 regular-season appearances last year, he averaged 14.4 points and 3.2 rebounds in 26.8 minutes per game, but his role decreased once the playoffs began.
