  • Anthony Bennett aggravates ankle in return
Anthony Bennett "re-sprained his ankle a little" on Sunday, according to Flip Saunders, but Bennett downplayed the injury after the game.

Advice: "It felt good," he said. "It just got a little sore near the end, but I tried to push through." Saunders also said that Bennett looked "rusty," which is understandable considering he'd missed more than a month of action. He belongs on the waiver wire while getting back up to speed.

  • Ed Davis will opt for free agency this summer
Ed Davis confirmed on Sunday that he will turn down his $1.1 million player option to test the free agent market this summer.

Advice: Davis will easily earn a more substantial deal in free agency so this comes as no surprise. He also said that "didn't ask to sit out" on Sunday, when he picked up a DNP-CD, and would have preferred to play. "I wanted to play all 82," he said. "I'm going to support the guys and be there, stay professional and stay ready." Davis should be back in the lineup on Monday, which unfortunately casts doubt on the availability of Jordan Hill.

  • Jared Dudley (back) confirms he'll play Wed
Jared Dudley (back) confirmed that he'll be ready to play vs. the Bulls on Wednesday.

Advice: "I'm 100% fine," he wrote on Twitter. "Just being pre cautious, I'll be ready [Wednesday]." This is excellent news for Bucks fans and any deep-league owners who have Dudley on their bench. He has had spurts of sustained value this year but is too risky for use in most leagues given the recurring nature of his back injury.
  • Mitch McGary vanishes in eight minutes Sunday
Mitch McGary vanished on Sunday, going scoreless with three rebounds and no other statistics in just eight minutes of action.

Advice: Steven Adams was rolling tonight and it was a poor matchup for McGary, as the Thunder ultimately surrounded Adams with four 3-point threats and dared the Suns to cover them all. McGary is far too risky for standard-league use while both Adams and Enes Kanter (11 points, nine rebounds) are dominating minutes in OKC's frontcourt.
  • T.J. Warren notches career-high 18 pts Sunday
T.J. Warren sank 8-of-10 shots to finish Sunday's home loss with a career-high 18 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.

Advice: The Suns' playoff hopes to a massive blow with tonight's loss, but Warren's emergence as a reliable bench scorer provides another silver lining for their season. He did his damage in 29 minutes tonight, without any turnovers, but fantasy owners should still be skeptical -- efficient shooting hasn't amounted to much given his 17.8 minutes per game over the past three weeks.
  • Jared Dudley (back) will not play on Monday
Jared Dudley will not play vs. the Hawks on Monday in order to give his ailing back some extra rest.

Advice: Dudley has been able to play in the past two games for the Bucks, but they are wanting to be cautious with him since he had missed six consecutive games earlier in March. Dudley should be fine for Wednesday's game vs. the Bulls, but he is still not a fantasy option outside of deeper leagues. Expect O.J. Mayo and Jerryd Bayless to see a few extra minutes off the bench Monday.
  • Ish Smith posts 11/7/5 in 31 minutes vs. CLE
Ish Smith had another solid showing on Sunday, racking up 11 points, five rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 31 minutes during a one-point loss to the Cavaliers.

Advice: Smith has wrested away the starting PG job from Isaiah Canaan (eight points in 17 minutes) and he's been a solid top-100 point guard since mid-March. Don't hesitate to start him if you need a burst of scoring (13.7 points), 3-pointers (1.0), assists (6.8) and steals (1.5).
  • Adreian Payne double-doubles in 36 minutes
Adreian Payne double-doubled on Sunday, putting up 14 points on 7-of-14 shooting, 11 rebounds, two steals, one assist and four turnovers over 36 minutes of action.

Advice: Payne was forced into heavy minutes with Gorgui Dieng (facial contusion) taking an early exit, and he responded very well to the increased floor time. With Dieng's status up in the air for Monday's game vs. the Jazz, Payne is worth a look as a streamer option in deep leagues.
  • Anthony Bennett (ankle) quiet in return Sun
Anthony Bennett (leg) returned to action on Sunday with two points, one rebound, two assists and one steal in 12 minutes off Minnesota's bench.

Advice: The former No. 1 pick hadn't played since a nine-minute stint in late February, so it's no surprise to see the Wolves ease him into the rotation. A fully-healthy Bennett could make some noise down the stretch, but time is quickly running out with only nine games left on the schedule. Better luck next year.
  • Alan Anderson scores nine pts w/ two steals
Alan Anderson scored nine points on 3-of-6 shooting (2-of-2 from the charity stripe), with one 3-pointer, three rebounds, three assists and two steals through 28 minutes of action.

Advice: Anderson is a guy that can do a little bit of everything, and he's seen his minutes increased over the past two games with Thaddeus Young (knee) unavailable. He's not going to blow you away with his production, but if you're in a deep league and looking for a low-end steals/3-point specialist, Anderson could be your guy.
  • Bojan Bogdanovic plays nine minutes Sunday
Bojan Bogdanovic was very quiet in nine bench minutes vs. the Lakers, finishing with only two points and one rebound.

Advice: The Croatian rookie has averaged 11.3 points and 1.4 threes since the All-Star break, but he's a poor source of anything beyond 3-pointers. Alan Anderson logged 28 minutes tonight, usurping Bogdanovic's role, and his owners should be scouring the waiver wire for a more reliable source of value.
  • Tony Allen (hamstring) won't play vs. Spurs
Tony Allen (hamstring) will not play vs. the Spurs on Sunday.

Advice: Vince Carter will step into the starting lineup, but Jeff Green will probably see the biggest boost in value off the bench. Allen has no timetable to return, but considering how tricky hamstring strains can be, The Grizzlies will likely be cautious moving forward. Allen should be considered closer to doubtful for Monday's game vs. the Kings.
  • Update: Shabazz Napier (hip) out Sunday
Updating a previous report, Shabazz Napier (hip) will not be able to play on Sunday vs. the Pistons.

Advice: The Heat have changed his status three times in the past 24 hours, so it's frustrating to see him ruled out of this one. Napier wasn't a consistent part of the rotation before the injury, so owners can comfortably leave him on the waiver wire in most leagues.
    W, 109-102 vs Det
  • Shabazz Napier (hip) will play vs. Pistons
Shabazz Napier (hip) will play through his minor injury vs. Detroit on Sunday.

Advice: This is a reversal from a previous report listing Napier as doubtful. It gives Miami some backcourt insurance if Dwyane Wade's knee prevents him from playing, but Napier isn't a viable fantasy option with Mario Chalmers and Goran Dragic both healthy.
    W, 109-102 vs Det
  • Kevin Garnett (illness) out Sunday vs. NO
Kevin Garnett (illness, knee) will not play Sunday vs. the Pelicans.

Advice: Garnett has reportedly been sick for the past four days, and unable to eat, so he'll remain on the sidelines for Sunday's game. With Garnett unavailable, Gorgui Dieng will continue to get all the run he can handle, while Andreian Payne will see his minutes in the 20s. Anthony Bennett will return to action today, so he'll also have the opportunity to get into the rotation, although his minutes will likely be very limited after spending the past month on the sidelines.
  • Anthony Bennett (ankle) will return Sunday
Anthony Bennett (ankle) will make his return Sunday vs. New Orleans.

Advice: The Timberwolves have been absolutely devastated by injuries, so Bennett will provide the team with some much-needed frontcourt depth. That being said, he's been out since Feb. 20, so he'll more than likely have his minutes held in check today as his conditioning isn't likely where it needs to be. Until he's logging major minutes for Minnesota, he belongs on the waiver wire in standard leagues.
  • Ed Davis (rest) will not play Sunday vs. BKN
Ed Davis (rest) will not play Sunday vs. the Nets.

Advice: With Davis and Carlos Boozer being given the day off, Tarik Black, Ryan Kelly, and Jordan Hill will all have the opportunity for some extended minutes. Kelly is good for some 3-pointers, while Hill can put up some points and rebounds, while Black can be viewed as a rebounding and shot blocking specialist in extremely deep leagues.
  • Nate Robinson (knee) making progress
Nate Robinson's knee is making progress and he is expected to be cleared to play within the week, but the Clippers have declined to sign him for the rest of the season.

Advice: The Clippers signed Lester Hudson to a 10-day contract on Sunday, so this isn't surprising. Hopefully Robinson will land on an NBA team soon, but he is well off the fantasy radar in most leagues.
  • Kris Humphries (groin) will not play Sunday
Kris Humphries (groin) will not play vs. the Rockets on Sunday.

Advice: He hasn't played since Feb. 26 and he remains without a timetable to return. Kevin Seraphin and Drew Gooden will continue to see a few extra minutes off the bench, but both players are not options in standard leagues. Humphries can be dropped everywhere until he is cleared to play.

  • Jusuf Nurkic plays 19 minutes vs. Blazers
Jusuf Nurkic played 19 minutes off the bench against the Blazers on Saturday, scoring 10 points on 5-of-5 from the field with one rebound and one steal.

Advice: Joffrey Laurvergne came off the bench before Nurkic tonight, but he was still able to get some minutes. It looked like Nurkic was going to be unleashed with two big games last weekend in 27.5 minutes per game, but he's seen his playing time cut back. We still like him as a hold, but he's not completely undroppable because he's off until Wednesday.
  • Tony Allen (hamstring) questionable for Sun
Tony Allen (hamstring) is questionable to play against the Spurs on Sunday.

Advice: He did not return from his hamstring strain on Friday and he's dealt with hamstring strains before this season, so Allen has a decent chance to miss this game. If he's out, expect Jeff Green to step up in the starting lineup while Courtney Lee will also benefit.
  • Anthony Bennett (ankle) is questionable
Anthony Bennett (ankle) is questionable to play against the Pelicans on Sunday.

Advice: He has been ruled out for games dating back to Feb. 20 and maybe he can get back in the rotation. The Wolves are rolling with just eight guys in their rotation and only seven of them are getting consistent double-digit minutes, so Bennett would likely get some run. He can stay on the wire until he's officially a go, though.
  • Kevin Garnett (knee) doubtful to play
Kevin Garnett (knee) is doubtful to play against the Pelicans on Sunday.

Advice: Why don't they just rule him out? He has yet to play in a road game with the Wolves this season and it would be a shock to see him suit up. The Wolves traded away Thaddeus Young to get Garnett. He can be dropped everywhere.
  • Shabazz Napier (hip) doubtful for Sunday
Shabazz Napier (hip) is doubtful to play against the Pistons on Sunday.

Advice: He may have suffered the injury on earlier in the week because he didn't play on Friday and the team is calling it "right hip pain." If the Heat are going to miss Dwyane Wade (knee, questionable) and Napier, there should be a lot of minutes going to Tyler Johnson and Mario Chalmers.

  • Nurkic grounded in Friday's win over UTA
Jusuf Nurkic was grounded on Friday against the Jazz, logging 11 minutes with just three points and three rebounds to show for it.

Advice: Nurkic looks like he came back from his ankle injury too soon and it appears to have derailed a promising last third of the season. With an unfavorable schedule, the only folks that should be sniffing a stash are those in desperate need of a big man.
    Friday, 11:56 pm
  • Bogdanovic scores 18 points with two threes
Bojan Bogdanovic hit 7-of-12 shots (including two threes) for 18 points and four rebounds in 32 minutes off the bench on Friday.

Advice: Bogdanovic should see enough touches to give owners a shot at some points and threes, but that's just about it.
    Friday, 9:44 pm
  • Alan Anderson plays 30 minutes on Friday
Alan Anderson logged 30 minutes off the bench on Friday, scoring 13 points on 5-of-11 shooting (including a three) with five rebounds and one steal.

Advice: With Thaddeus Young (knee) looking doubtful for Sunday's game and possibly more, this type of workload seems like a decent bet until Young gets back. Anderson has a week of late-round value under his belt and isn't going to blow you away, but if you need shooting guard stats he could be worth a look.
    Friday, 9:43 pm
  • Ish Smith turns in another nice line
Ish Smith was effective on offense against the Clippers on Friday with 18 points, two rebounds, nine assists, two steals and two 3-pointers.

Advice: He has three nine-dime games in his last five, averaging 12.8 points, 3.6 boards, 7.2 dimes, 1.6 steals and 1.0 treys in that span. Smith has been a very nice option for owners needing some points, assists and steals, and he's showing no signs of slowing down. He should be owned in standard leagues.
    Friday, 7:54 pm
  • Tony Allen (hamstring strain) leaves game
Tony Allen suffered a left hamstring strain on Friday.

Advice: He's had hamstring issues already this season and the Grizzlies are being blown out, so Allen is likely out for the game. If he needs to miss time, Courtney Lee and Jeff Green should pick up his minutes. Green would start and gain the most value. Allen finished with four points, four boards and one block in 19 minutes.
    Friday, 6:50 pm
  • Kevin Garnett (illness) out on Friday
Kevin Garnett (illness, knee) will not play against the Rockets on Friday.

Advice: He has been ill for five days and is not at the arena. Garnett could be out for the season with some sort of soreness in his knee, so keep him on the wire. Justin Hamilton could play more, but he may still be dealing with a head issue.
    Friday, 3:51 pm
  • Kris Humphries (groin) out Friday vs. CHA
Kris Humphries (groin) will not suit up for Friday's game vs. the Hornets, as expected.

Advice: Kevin Seraphin and Drew Gooden will continue to split Humphries reserve minutes, but neither guy is worth owning in standard leagues. With no clear return date in site for Humphries, he belongs on the waiver wire in all leagues.
    Friday, 9:23 am

  • Robinson (knee) may not be retained by LAC
The Clippers are reportedly waiting to see how Nate Robinson's knee is recovering before deciding whether or not to sign him for the remainder of the season.

Advice: Robinson's second 10-day contract with the club expired on Thursday, and given that the Clippers have not yet signed him, he's not going to be available for Friday's game vs. the Sixers. Through nine games with the Clippers, Robinson put in averages of 5.1 points and 2.2 assists over 14 minutes of action. His reserve minutes will likely go to Austin Rivers, and at this point, it's safe to cut Robinson in all leagues.
    Friday, 6:00 am
  • Jared Dudley has awful shot in win
Jared Dudley returned from his kneecap injury on Thursday, scoring two points with one rebound, one assist and one turnover.

Advice: He had the worst shot you'll see all season with a backwards shot in the corner. We know that doesn't make sense, so click the link below to check it out. Dudley can be left on the wire in almost all leagues.
    Thursday, 9:17 pm
  • Jared Dudley (knee) will play Thursday
Jared Dudley (knee) will play Thursday vs. the Pacers.

Advice: Dudley had some good stretches during the season, but his play has really fallen off during the month of March with averages of just 2.5 points and 3.0 rebounds per game on 22.2 percent shooting from the field. He'll likely be eased back into the rotation, so it's safe to leave Dudley on the waiver wire in nearly all leagues.
    Thursday, 3:20 pm
  • Bennett (ankle), Hummel (hand) out again Fri.
Anthony Bennett (ankle) and Robbie Hummel (hand) will not play Friday vs. Houston.

Advice: There's no reason to roster either of these guys in any league, leave them on the wire.
    Thursday, 2:14 pm
  • Kevin Garnett (knee) doubtful Friday vs. HOU
Kevin Garnett (knee) is doubtful to play Friday vs. Houston.

Advice: It's a road game, so it's very likely Garnett will be wearing a suit on Friday. Expect Gorgui Dieng to get all the run he can handle, with Adreian Payne seeing his minutes in the 20s. Garnett belongs on the waiver wire in all leagues.
    Thursday, 1:48 pm
  • Kris Humphries (groin) doesn't practice Thurs
Kris Humphries (groin) was unable to practice on Thursday.

Advice: Humphries was spotted going through a lot of individual work on Thursday, but his absence from practice would suggest he's doubtful for Friday's game vs. Charlotte. If he's unable to go, Drew Gooden and Kevin Seraphin will continue to split his reserve minutes. Seraphin can be viewed as a shot-blocking specialist in extremely deep leagues, while Humphries belongs on the waiver wire in all leagues.
    Thursday, 12:03 pm
    L, 99-91 vs Hou
  • Mitch McGary goes for 8 & 7 off bench
Mitch McGary had eight points, seven rebounds, three steals and a block off the Thunder bench in Wednesday's blowout loss to the Spurs.

Advice: The line wasn't bad considering the fact the Thunder lost by 39 points and sat the regulars for most of the second half. Steven Adams disappeared tonight, but he's still the guy we'd rather own over McGary, so don't do anything crazy. This game was over very early.
    Wednesday, 11:57 pm
  • Jusuf Nurkic plays just seven minutes
Jusuf Nurkic played just seven minutes against the 76ers on Wednesday with two points, three rebounds, one assist and one block.

Advice: He did not play in the fourth quarter and there's been no word on why -- Brian Shaw didn't magically appear on the sidelines, though. Nurkic was getting some big minutes before with 27.5 per game over his last two, so we're still against cutting him after a dud like this one. He should be owned in all leagues for his high ceiling.
    Wednesday, 11:22 pm
  • Ed Davis drops 14 & 9 off bench
Ed Davis came off the bench and played just 22 minutes, but had 14 points, nine rebounds and a steal in Wednesday's OT win over the Wolves.

Advice: Carlos Boozer and Jordan Hill have been taken out of action, in our opinion, for tanking purposes, so Davis is worth a look if you need a big man. We'd like him more if he were starting over Ryan Kelly or Tarik Black, but there's a possibility he ends up in the starting five at some point. None of them look like must-own players though, despite the opportunities that are coming their way.
    Wednesday, 10:31 pm
  • Kevin Garnett (knee) out on Wednesday
Kevin Garnett (knee) will not play on Wednesday.

Advice: He hasn't played since Mar. 7 and the move to acquire him for Thaddeus Young is making less sense by the day because the team has said it's not tanking. Justin Hamilton benefits most while Adreian Payne could play more, too. Garnett could be dropped everywhere, obviously.
    Wednesday, 3:55 pm
  • Kris Humphries (groin) won't play vs. Pacers
Kris Humphries (groin) will sit out again vs. the Pacers on Wednesday.

Advice: He hasn't played since Feb. 26 and it's anyone's guess when he'll return to action, though it's somewhat encouraging that he's traveling with the team. Nene, Drew Gooden and Kevin Seraphin will continue to play a few extra minutes in Humphries' absence.
    Wednesday, 3:24 pm
    L, 99-91 vs Hou
  • Nate Robinson (knee) won't play vs. New York
Nate Robinson (knee) will not play vs. the Knicks on Wednesday but he hopes to return later this week.

Advice: It's unclear when injured himself, but fortunately the bone bruise in his knee doesn't sound severe. He has scored double-digit points just once since joining the Clippers and isn't a fantasy asset while J.J. Redick and Chris Paul are healthy.
    Wednesday, 2:39 pm
  • Jared Dudley is questionable for Thursday
Jared Dudley (knee) is questionable to play against the Pacers on Thursday.

Advice: He did go through practice, but that doesn't mean much because he went through practice on Monday and missed Tuesday's game. Dudley can remain on the wire in almost all leagues.
    Wednesday, 2:06 pm
  • Kris Humphries (groin) doubtful for Wednesday
Kris Humphries (groin) is doubtful to play vs. the Wizards on Wednesday.

Advice: He has been on the shelf since Feb. 26 and his recovery has been unusually slow, so we would be surprised if he managed to play tonight. We will know more closer to tip-off, but Humprhies still belongs on the wire in most leagues. Drew Gooden and Kevin Seraphin will continue to see a slight uptick in minutes off the bench if Humprhries can't play.
    Wednesday, 10:35 am

  • Ish Smith approaches triple-double Tuesday
Ish Smith came close to recording a triple-double on Tuesday vs. the Kings, scoring 13 points on 5-of-14 shooting with eight boards, seven assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes.

Advice: Smith did have seven turnovers and the shooting obviously wasn't great, but it's tough to complain about this line for a guy that was sitting on waivers in most leagues just a few weeks ago. Isaiah Canaan did score 13 points in 19 minutes tonight, but it's clear that head coach Brett Brown trusts Smith more at the moment. If you can handle his turnovers and his inefficient shooting, Smith is worth owning in most leagues.
    Tuesday, 10:05 pm
  • Ed Davis shoots 5-of-5 in 16 minutes Tuesday
Ed Davis made all five of his shot attempts on Tuesday, but he played only 16 minutes and finished with 12 points, three rebounds, one steal and one block.

Advice: Byron Scott has suggested that he'll start Davis soon, possibly for the remainder of the season, making him a sneaky pickup despite tonight's lackluster numbers. With top-80 value as a reserve over the past month, Davis doesn't even need a promotion to help fantasy owners in standard leagues.
    Tuesday, 8:32 pm
  • Jared Dudley (knee) out Tuesday vs. Miami
Jared Dudley (knee) will not suit up for Tuesday's game vs. the Heat.

Advice: Dudley is inching his way closer to making a return after going through a full practice on Monday, but today will not be the day. He wasn't playing well before going down, and he belongs on the waiver wire in all leagues.
    Tuesday, 3:29 pm
  • Nate Robinson (knee) questionable Wednesday
Nate Robinson (knee) is being listed as questionable for Wednesday's game vs. the Knicks.

Advice: If Robinson is unable to go on Wednesday, Austin Rivers and Jordan Hamilton will likely pick up most of his reserve minutes, but they can't be viewed as reliable options in almost any league.
    Tuesday, 2:50 pm
  • Bennett (ankle), Hummel (hand) out Wednesday
Anthony Bennett (ankle) and Robbie Hummel (hand) will not play Wednesday vs. the Lakers.

Advice: Both players remain without a firm timetable to return, and belong on the waiver wire in all leagues.
    Tuesday, 2:41 pm
  • Kevin Garnett (knee) doubtful for Wednesday
Kevin Garnett (knee) is doubtful to play Wednesday vs. the Lakers.

Advice: Garnett has been out since March 7, and he remains without an official timetable to return. At this point in his career, Garnett belongs on the waiver wire in all leagues.
    Tuesday, 2:27 pm
  • Tony Allen hoping for All-Defensive team
Tony Allen said he wants to make the All-Defensive first time this year.

Advice: "I’m sticking your elite two-guards in the league," Allen sayid. "Not even just two guards: I check the Durants, the Joe Johnsons, the Lebrons—the best player every night. They robbed me last yea. The only reason they didn’t put me in there is because I missed a lot of games, but this year I’m for sure first team." Allen has been on a tear as of late in averaging 11.0 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 2.8 steals over his last five games and needs to be owned in all standard fantasy leagues.
    Tuesday, 7:30 am
  • Allen productive in 27 minutes on Monday
Tony Allen scored nine points on 4-of-5 shooting (including a three) with seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block in Monday's win over the Knicks.

Advice: Allen has been a top-75 player over the last month and it's well past time he's owned in all standard leagues.
    Mar 23, 8:02 pm
  • Bogdanovic scores six points with six boards
Bojan Bogdanovic scored just six points on 3-of-14 shooting with six rebounds and one assist in 26 minutes off the bench on Monday.

Advice: Bogdanovic had been a nice little run but this shows how shaky his value can be. He's a deep league play at best until he shows us a little bit more.
    Mar 23, 7:33 pm
  • Kris Humphries (groin) out again for Monday
Kris Humphries (groin) will not play against the Warriors on Monday.

Advice: He might miss the entire month of March and has been out since Feb. 26. Humphries can be ignored in most leagues. Marcin Gortat and Nene get a tough matchup tonight.

    L, 99-91 vs Hou
  • Kevin Garnett (knee) won't play Monday
Kevin Garnett (knee) will not play against the Jazz on Monday.

Advice: He's been out since Mar. 7 and has yet to play in a road game since joining the Wolves. Garnett can be dropped everywhere.
    Mar 23, 4:39 pm
  • Hollins continues praise for Bojan Bogdanovic
Coach Lionel Hollins said he hasn't been playing Deron Williams and Jarrett Jack together because of how well Bojan Bogdanovic is playing right now.

Advice: He had some kind of run last week, averaging 17.8 points, 3.5 boards, 2.0 assists, 0.5 steals, 0.5 blocks and 2.0 treys on 63.8 percent from the field in 35.0 minutes per game in his last four. There is a 49-minute outlier in there, so we're expecting Bojan to get minutes in the 28-33 range this week. He has four games, so feel free to give him a look if you're feeling saucy and want to roll the dice on a rookie. Additionally, Jack and Williams are both likely to play minutes in the mid 20s.
    Mar 23, 3:00 pm
  • Jared Dudley questionable for Tuesday
Jared Dudley (knee) is questionable to play against the Heat on Tuesday.

Advice: He went through practice on Monday and could return after missing most of the second half due to an issue with his kneecap. Dudley would take minutes away from Ersan Ilyasova, but Ghosface Ilya is still worth owning in all leagues.
    Mar 23, 12:37 pm
  • Kevin Garnett (knee) doubtful for Monday
Kevin Garnett (knee) is doubtful to play against the Jazz on Monday.

Advice: It's a road game, so Garnett is almost a lock to not play for his one. With KG and a slew of others out in the frontcourt, expect Gorgui Dieng to be very busy. Plus, Adreian Payne and Chase Budinger will get some extra run.
    Mar 23, 11:22 am
  • Ed Davis could join starting lineup soon?
Ed Davis could soon join the starting lineup, but it's unclear who he'd replace.

Advice: It would either be Jordan Hill or Tarik Black. As a starter, Davis is averaging 8.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 0.5 steals and 1.1 blocks on 56.8 percent shooting over 24 games. Seeing as how he's producing that line in just 26 minutes per contest, Davis has plenty of room to contribute for fantasy owners if he's ever unleashed.
    Mar 23, 9:37 am
  • Kevin Garnett again questionable for Monday
Kevin Garnett (knee) is questionable to play on Monday vs. Utah.

Advice: There is just no incentive to play Garnett right now, and it doesn't sound like he's close to returning since we never got an update on his second opinion after he was examined last week. Adreian Payne, who is averaging 8.7 points and 6.7 rebounds as a starting power forward, should once again get the call.

  • Anthony Bennett's injury now to his leg
Anthony Bennett (leg) will not play on Monday against the Jazz, and he remains out indefinitely.

Advice: This is just a reminder, and Bennett doesn't appear close to any kind of return. He's been out since February 20.
    Mar 23, 9:10 am
  • Ish Smith shoots poorly in road loss vs. LAK
Ish Smith started Sunday's game but had only nine points on 3-of-14 shooting, two rebounds, nine assists and four turnovers in 29 minutes.

Advice: The assists are nice and the best news, if you can call it that, is that backup PG Isaiah Canaan was even worse, shooting 1-of-12 from the field in 22 minutes. This timeshare at PG is doing neither player any favors in fantasy leagues, but Smith has enough upside to warrant holding onto in most 9-cat and all 8-cat leagues.
    Mar 22, 9:41 pm
  • Ed Davis blocks four shots w/ 11 rebounds
Ed Davis came off the Lakers bench for eight points, 11 rebounds and four blocks on Sunday, helping L.A. hold on for a 101-87 win vs. the visiting Sixers.

Advice: His play was bigger than the stat line reveals, particularly in the decisive fourth quarter, but Davis is trapped as a late-round value due to limited playing time -- he's played 30+ minutes just three times since Jan. 1.
    Mar 22, 9:38 pm
  • Adreian Payne flashes mid-range game Sunday
Wolves PF Adreian Payne notched 13 points, nine rebounds, one assist and one steal in 35 minutes on Sunday.

Advice: Payne's mid-range jumper was clicking tonight and he shot 6-of-7 from 18 feet and beyond, with only one attempt in the paint. That's not a long-term recipe for success but it's nice to see the 6'10" rookie flash his range. Payne should maintain a solid role even when/if Kevin Garnett and Nikola Pekovic return, but he's little more than a rebound specialist.
    Mar 22, 6:36 pm
  • Jusuf Nurkic fouls out in 25 minutes vs. ORL
Jusuf Nurkic fouled out in 25 minutes during Sunday's game, which he finished with 11 points, six rebounds, one assist and three steals.

Advice: Fouls have been a concern for Nurkic all season and they reared their ugly head again tonight, restricting him to mediocre value. His 5-of-7 shooting was tainted by a 1-of-4 mark at the FT line, but owners should still be mildly encouraged by tonight's performance -- he's poised for as many minutes as he can handle in the coming weeks and is a reliable source of FG percentage, rebounds and blocks.
    Mar 22, 6:00 pm
  • Mitch McGary scores 14 points in bench role
Mitch McGary shifted to the Thunder bench on Sunday and didn't miss a beat, scoring 14 points with eight rebounds, one steal and two blocks in 26 minutes.

Advice: McGary hasn't fared well recently, exceeding 20 minutes just three times in March, so it's hard to get too excited about tonight's performance vs. a weak Miami frontcourt. He's worth keeping an eye on but standard-league owners should avoid him as long as Enes Kanter and Steven Adams are both healthy and starting.
    Mar 22, 4:10 pm
  • Kevin Garnett (knee) will not play Sunday
Kevin Garnett (knee) will not play on Sunday vs. the Hornets.

Advice: The Wolves have no reason to play Garnett at less than 100 percent, and we wouldn't count on Garnett playing on Monday vs. the Jazz either. Adreian Payne will draw the start again, but Chase Budinger has emerged as the primary beneficiary off the bench for the Wolves.
    Mar 22, 3:26 pm
  • Kris Humphries (groin) is inactive on Sunday
Kris Humphries (groin) is inactive for Sunday's game vs. the Kings.

Advice: There hasn't been a lot of information on Humphries' recovery and it's possible he sits out through the end of March. Humphries shouldn't be owners in just about any league right now, and his absence has opened up more minutes for Drew Gooden and Kevin Seraphin off the bench.

    L, 99-91 vs Hou
  • Jared Dudley (knee) and Mayo (hamstring) out
Jared Dudley (knee) and O.J. Mayo (hamstring) remain out indefinitely.

Advice: Neither guy will play on Sunday, of course, and their absence leaves extra playing time available for Tyler Ennis, Jerryd Bayless, Ersan Ilyasova and others. Ilyasova is the best bet for reliable value, though Bayless is also worth a glance for deep-league owners seeking guard help. Dudley and Mayo both belong on the waiver wire until a return date is announced.
    Mar 22, 12:14 pm
  • Tony Allen double-doubles with six steals
Tony Allen double-doubled with 10 points, 11 rebounds, one assist, six steals and one 3-pointer in 35 minutes against the Blazers on Saturday.

Advice: He started tonight with Courtney Lee out of the lineup due to a nagging thumb injury. The more time Lee misses, the bigger the lines will be for Allen. If you need some steals, he's almost a must-own player.
    Mar 21, 8:34 pm
  • Bojan Bogdanovic scores 21, makes all 8 FGAs
Bojan Bogdanovic stayed hot against the Pacers on Saturday, making all eight attempts from the field for 21 points with five rebounds and three 3-pointers in 29 minutes.

Advice: He played a whopping 49 minutes on Friday and scored 17 points in a win. Bogdanovic has played at least 27 minutes in four straight games, averaging 17.8 points, 3.8 boards, 0.5 blocks and 2.0 treys. It's becoming clearer that coach Lionel Hollins is going to play him more, so he's worth a look in standard leagues while he's hot.
    Mar 21, 6:46 pm
  • Anthony Bennett (ankle) now out
Anthony Bennett (ankle) will not play on Sunday against the Hornets.

Advice: There was some hope he could play, but he'll miss another game. Bennett could get minutes due to how thin the Wolves are, but he can remain on the wire in fantasy leagues until we get a confirmation he'll be ready to go for game action. Plus, he hasn't practiced yet.
    Mar 21, 3:35 pm
  • Anthony Bennett has chance to play Sunday
Anthony Bennett (ankle) is questionable to play on Sunday against the Hornets.

Advice: He has been out for over one month with his leg injury and there's been little talk of him making progress. The Wolves need big men as bad as any team right now, so Bennett would get minutes if he's healthy. Adreian Payne and Chase Budinger would lose some playing time. Leave Bennett on the wire until we get a more encouraging update.
    Mar 21, 12:11 pm
  • Tony Allen plays 32 minutes in start
Tony Allen started on Friday against the Mavs with 13 points, seven rebounds, one assist and two steals on 5-of-8 from the field and 3-of-8 from the line in 32 minutes.

Advice: This is right up his alley for playing time and usage rate, so Allen will continue to be more of a steals guy with some boards and points mixed in. He's worth a look depending on your needs. Keep an eye on his status for the back-to-back set on Saturday, but there's little doubt the Grindfather will sit in the Grindhouse.
    Mar 20, 10:46 pm
  • Nurkic ties career-high with 16 points
Jusuf Nurkic tied a career-high with 16 points against the Heat on Friday, hitting 7-of-10 shots with seven rebounds, two steals and one block in 30 minutes.

Advice: The warts are still there with four turnovers and five fouls on the night, but he stayed on the floor and saved his fantasy value in the process. His upside is readily apparent and he should be picked up if he was dropped.
    Mar 20, 10:27 pm
  • Bojan Bogdanovic plays 49 minutes
Bojan Bogdanovic played 49 minutes against the Bucks on Friday during a triple-overtime win with 17 points, three rebounds, five assists, one steal, two blocks and two 3-pointers.

Advice: He hit a couple clutch shots and his coach clearly has confidence in him. Bogdanovic played 36 minutes on Wednesday and he's also taken 39 shots combined in his last three. He's still not a must-own player because of how many slumps he's had, but he's definitely on the radar now. He's probably a grab in 16-team leagues.
    Mar 20, 9:36 pm
  • Ish Smith scores 15 points with nine assists
Ish Smith scored 15 points on 7-of-16 shooting (including a three) with four rebounds, nine assists and two steals in Friday's win over the Knicks.

Advice: Smith has taken over as the starting point guard and by all appearances it's a job he can keep for the rest of the year, with Isaiah Canaan fitting in as a scorer off the bench. Owners should view Smith as a late-round guy with the potential for mid-round value, which he has returned this past week in just 26 mpg.
    Mar 20, 9:04 pm
  • Tony Allen will start for Jeff Green
Tony Allen will start for Jeff Green on Friday against the Mavericks.

Advice: It's not really a big move because Allen comes in for Green fairly early in the first quarter anyway. There's really no need to adjust minutes projections or output from this move.
    Mar 20, 5:20 pm
  • Mitch McGary will start Friday vs. Atlanta
Mitch McGary will be in the starting lineup for Friday's game vs. the Hawks with Enes Kanter (ankle) unavailable.

Advice: In McGary's previous start he put up 12 points, two rebounds, and two assists through 22 minutes of action. He'll have a tough matchup tonight against the Hawks, and with Scott Brooks, starting doesn’t necessarily equate to heavy minutes, so McGary remains a risky option in daily leagues.
    Mar 20, 3:31 pm
  • Jusuf Nurkic listed as the starter vs. Heat
Jusuf Nurkic is listed as the starter against the Heat on Friday.

Advice: After not logging a single second in the first half of Thursday, Nurkic will take Danilo Gallinari's (rest) spot in the starting lineup. Nurkic has admitted he wasn't at 100 percent, so he'll look to get more than 22 minutes for the first time since Feb. 22. There's a lot of risk in starting him, but the upside is far too much too ignore. He's worth owning in most leagues with tonight serving as a huge night for his value going forward.
    Mar 20, 3:12 pm
  • Kris Humphries (groin) out again Friday night
Kris Humphries (groin) will not play against the Clippers on Friday.

Advice: The team continues to rule him out early and we might not see him on the court for the rest of the month. The Wizards are playing some terrific ball without him and their frontcourt guys should bounce back from some quiet lines against the Jazz on Wednesday.
    Mar 20, 11:49 am
    L, 99-91 vs Hou
  • Jared Dudley (back) will not play on Friday
Jared Dudley (back spasms) will not suit up for Friday's game vs. Brooklyn, and he is currently without an official timetable to return.

Advice: With Dudley out, Ersan Ilyasova will likely continue to see his minutes in the 30s, with Giannis Antetokounmpo getting all the run he can handle. Dudley belongs on the waiver wire in all leagues.
    Mar 20, 8:26 am
  • Jusuf Nurkic plays 12 minutes in second half
Jusuf Nurkic didn't get any playing time in the first half against the Rockets on Thursday, playing 12 minutes in the second half for three points, three boards, one steal and one block.

Advice: He admitted his ankle is only 70 percent and maybe that's why his minutes were down. As much as we love his upside, it's going to be tough to own Nurkic with such little playing time. Most of his fantasy owners should give him another chance on Friday night against the Heat.
    Mar 19, 8:58 pm
  • Bennet (ankle), Hummel (hand) out Thursday
Anthony Bennett (ankle) and Robbie Hummel (hand) have been ruled out for Thursday's game vs. the Knicks.

Advice: The Timberwolves will enter Thursday's game with just eight healthy bodies on the roster. Bennett hasn't played since Feb. 20, and remains without an official timetable to return. Hummel has been out since Jan. 25, and he too has no clear return date. Zach LaVine, Kevin Martin, Andrew Wiggins, Gorgui Dieng, and Adreian Payne will be forced into heavy minutes tonight in a game that both teams would prefer to lose. Get ready for some very ugly basketball.
    Mar 19, 3:46 pm
  • Jusuf Nurkic says his ankle is at 70 percent
Jusuf Nurkic said that his ankle is currently only 70 percent healthy, but he hopes to get it close to 100 percent by next week.

Advice: Nurkic has cleared been limited by his sore ankle, averaging just 4.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 0.7 blocks per game since returning from the injury. However, he'll continue to fight through the pain, and will be active for Thursday's game vs. the Rockets. He does offer a lot of upside, but with the fantasy playoffs in full swing, he's not a must-own guy in standard leagues.
    Mar 19, 11:51 am
  • Mitch McGary plays just six minutes Wednesday
Mitch McGary played just six minutes on Wednesday and didn't see the court in the second half, finishing with just four points and one rebound (and three fouls).

Advice: With Enes Kanter leaving with a sprained ankle tonight, McGary could be getting more run if Kanter misses time. Stay tuned for news on Kanter's ankle.
