Darius Garland (back) dishes out eight assists
Darius Garland (lower back contusion) finished Saturday’s win over Orlando with 14 points (6-of-11 FGs), three rebounds, eight assists, one steal, and two 3-pointers in 32 minutes.
Advice: Garland experienced an injury scare early in the third quarter of Saturday’s series opener, as he needed to exit to receive treatment on his lower back. He sat out Sunday’s regular-season finale with a lower back contusion, which is why there could be some concern in Cleveland. The good news is that he returned to the game a little over two minutes later and did not experience further issues with the back. Game 2 is on Monday, and Caris LeVert would be of added importance to the Cavaliers if Garland’s back flares up before then. LeVert, who replaced DG early in the third quarter, played 20 minutes on Saturday, finishing with five points, four rebounds, and two assists.
