    • New Rocket Corey Brewer gets 25 pts w/ six 3s
Corey Brewer scored a season-high 25 points (8-of-11 FGs) off the Rockets bench in Sunday's road loss, while tying his career-high with six 3-pointers in a mere 24 minutes of action.

Advice: Brewer is now averaging 16.7 points on 58.1 percent shooting, 3.7 triples, 2.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.7 steals and 0.7 blocks in three games with Houston. He's averaging 23 minutes off the bench and his current numbers appear unsustainable (he had eight 3s all season with the Wolves), but he's worth a speculative pickup if you're in need of scoring, 3-pointers and steals. • Danny Green piles up fantasy stats vs Rockets
Danny Green's terrific season continued with 24 points (6-of-13 FGs, 9-of-10 FTs), three 3-pointers, four boards, three assists and five steals in Sunday's 110-106 win vs. the Rockets.

Advice: Green joins Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook as the only players averaging top-20 fantasy value (9-cat) in under 32 minutes per game, and we can't emphasize enough how undervalued he's been in fantasy leagues this season. There's no reason to expect a drop-off as the Spurs try to claw their way up from seventh place in the Western Conference. Rotoworld.com

    • Donatas Motiejunas plays 25 reserve minutes
Donatas Motiejunas shifted to a bench role vs. the Spurs on Sunday, posting 11 points, one 3-pointer, five rebounds, two assists and one steal in the Rockets' 106-110 defeat.

Advice: Motie has played well all season but his fantasy outlook took a huge hit when the Rockets signed Josh Smith and promised him a starting role. He logged 25 minutes on Sunday and is getting enough playing time to retain late-round value as a reserve, but most fantasy owners should be able to find higher-upside free agents as the season progresses. • Trevor Ariza held to seven pts on 2-of-9 FGs
Trevor Ariza logged 37 minutes in Sunday's loss to the Spurs, making 2-of-9 shots to finish with only seven points, three rebounds and two assists.

Advice: He made one 3-pointer and chipped in three assists to scrape together some fantasy value, and one off game would be nothing for his fantasy owners to fret about. Of much greater concern is the fact that Ariza's shooting slump extends back to Nov. 12, the last time he made at least half of his shots in a game -- in the 21 games since then, he's a combined 89-of-273 from the field (32.6 percent). • Josh Smith struggles w/ foul trouble vs Spurs
Josh Smith was in foul trouble throughout his first start with the Rockets on Sunday, scoring five points with eight rebounds, one assist and three steals in 26 minutes.

Advice: Smith made 2-of-7 FGs and 1-of-2 FTs with four turnovers and five personal fouls. The Spurs sagged way off him on the perimeter, daring him to beat them with long jumpers, and he finished with a +/- rating of -11. His inevitable ascension to the starting lineup bumped Donatas Motiejunas to the bench, where he had 11 points and five boards, while Kostas Papanikolaou picked up another DNP-CD. Smith was a fantasy liability in 8-cat and 9-cat leagues while in Detroit, and owners shouldn't expect any miracles in Houston. Rotoworld.com

    • Landry Fields (concussion) is out Sunday
Landry Fields (concussion) will not play on Sunday vs. Denver.

Advice: This will be his fourth straight game on the sidelines, and he has still not passed his concussion testing. James Johnson has been starting in Fields' absence and is worth a look in all leagues for his ability to rack up blocks and steals. Fields should be cut across the board. Rotoworld.com

    • J.R. Smith (heel) ruled out vs. Trail Blazers
J.R. Smith (heel) has been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Trail Blazers.

Advice: He's technically day-to-day but this marks his 10th consecutive DNP and it's anyone's guess when he'll be ready to return from his nagging bout of plantar fasciitis. With Iman Shumpert (shoulder) also on the sidelines, there will once again be plenty of minutes available for Tim Hardaway Jr. Rotoworld.com

    • Jonas Jerebko plays well in big bench role
Jonas Jerebko finished Sunday's easy road win with 10 points, two 3-pointers, seven rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.

Advice: Greg Monroe is the most obvious winner with Josh Smith no longer in Detroit, but his departure also clears more playing time for Jerebko off the bench. Anthony Tolliver could dent Jerebko's production once he's activated, but deep-league owners should consider speculatively adding Jerebko in case he maintains a 25-30 minute role as a primary reserve. • Marco Belinelli will start Sunday vs. Houston
Marco Belinelli will enter the starting lineup for Sunday's game vs. the Rockets, sending Kyle Anderson to the bench.

Advice: Belinelli has seen his minutes in the 30s with Kawhi Leonard (hand) sidelined, but he'll have a tough matchup tonight vs. the Rockets, so he's a risky play in daily leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Josh Smith will start at power forward Sunday
Josh Smith will start at power forward for Sunday's game vs. the Spurs, sending Donatas Motiejunas to the bench.

Advice: Smith was promised a starting job upon signing with Houston, so it was only a matter of time (in this case one game) until he overtook Motiejunas for the starting gig. Donatas was only able to put up four points and six rebounds during his last game, and with the demotion to the bench, he can probably be cut in most leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Lakers waive Xavier Henry
The Lakers have waived Xavier Henry.

Advice: Henry has really struggled with injuries throughout his career, and he was only able to get through nine games this season before going down with a season-ending Achillies injury. Given his constant struggles with health, it could be difficult for him to find another NBA contract. Rotoworld.com

    • Jeff Taylor assigned to D-League

    • Anthony Tolliver inactive for Sunday vs. Cavs
Anthony Tolliver will be inactive for Sunday's game vs. the Cavs.

Advice: Tolliver isn't on the fantasy radar, and with Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe healthy, he can safely remain on the waiver wire in all leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Ersan Ilyasova (concussion) won't play Monday
Ersan Ilyasova (concussion) has been ruled out for Monday's game vs. the Hornets.

Advice: With Larry Sanders (illness) also being listed as questionable for this one, the Bucks frontcourt will be manned by a collection of Zaza Pachulia, Johnny O'Bryant, and John Henson, with Zaza offering the most upside of the group. Ilyasova remains without an official timetable to return, and a concussion forced him to miss 21 games last season, so owners may want to consider looking for other options. Rotoworld.com

    • Kobe Bryant (soreness) will play Sunday
Kobe Bryant (soreness) will return to the starting lineup for Sunday's game vs. the Suns.

Advice: Bryant's return to action will send Wayne Ellington back to the bench, and take away some touches from Carlos Boozer. Kobe will be limited to 30 minutes tonight, but that's plenty of time for him to put up stats in an up-tempo game with Phoenix. He's obviously a must-start option every time he's in uniform, so go ahead and get him active. Rotoworld.com

    • J.R. Smith (heel) questionable for Sunday
J.R. Smith (heel) is questionable for Sunday's game vs. Portland.

Advice: He has had some tough luck with plantar fasciitis and has now missed nine straight games so don't be surprised if he sits this one out. Owners in standard leagues can continue to ignore Smith while Tim Hardaway Jr. is definitely worth a look in all leagues. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • Kevin Durant (ankle) out for Sunday's game
Kevin Durant (ankle) will not play in Sunday's game against the Mavericks.

Advice: This will be his sixth straight game out of the lineup and it is clear that KD's ankle is a real concern. However, he was able to go through shootaround on Sunday so it is safe to assume that he is somewhat close to returning. Perry Jones will likely get another start but is not an attractive option in most leagues. We will pass along further updates as needed. Rotoworld.com

    • C.J. Miles (illness) questionable for Monday
C.J. Miles (illness) is questionable for Monday's game against the Bulls.

    • Nick Young eager to have Kobe Bryant back
Nick Young is eager to have Kobe Bryant back in the lineup in order to ease the pressure on himself.

Advice: "We’re always going to need Kobe out there on the floor, especially for players like me," said Young. "That releases a lot of pressure." Swaggy P has averaged just 11 points per game with Bryant out of the lineup over the last three games, so his impending return may actually help Young get better looks. Bryant is probable to play on Sunday, meaning Young's minutes could take a slight dip, though his ability to fill up the scoreboard in a hurry makes him worth owning in most leagues. Rotoworld.com
      Today, 6:23 am
    • Quincy Acy will be active for Sunday's game
Quincy Acy will return from his one-game suspension and he will play on Sunday against Portland.

Advice: He was suspended for throwing a punch towards John Wall on Christmas but later admitted his mistakes. "I fouled him hard. The foul was unnecessary," Acy said. "I didn’t have to foul him that hard. Which is why I kept walking towards him and was about to help him up. He got up and pushed. Anybody’s initial reaction is to react. But then I stopped myself and tried to grab him." The Knicks will be glad to have their enforcer back on the court, though his limited role leaves him off of the fantasy radar in most leagues. • Draymond Green flirts with a 5x5 in win
Draymond Green flirted with a five-by-five line against the Wolves on Saturday with four points, eight rebounds, six assists, three blocks and a career-high six steals in 32 minutes.

Advice: He just seems to find a way to fill it up and he remains as the Western Conference version of Jimmy Butler -- to a slightly lesser degree. In case you needed convincing, David Lee's return is not hurting Green's fantasy value and that shouldn't be the case all season. Rotoworld.com

    • Shabazz Muhammad scores nine
Shabazz Muhammad scored nine points with nine rebounds, one assist, one block and one 3-pointer in 29 minutes against the Warriors on Saturday.

Advice: While the news of Kevin Martin (wrist) getting closer certainly doesn't help Muhammad's value, there's no need to panic. He plays three different positions and the Wolves are clearly rebuilding. Muhammad is doing more than just scoring on the stat sheet and does have a block in three straight, so keep him owned in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Jared Dudley slows down in loss
Jared Dudley scored nine points with five rebounds, three assists, two steals and one 3-pointer in 32 minutes against the Hawks on Saturday.

Advice: He had nowhere to go but down after his 10-of-10 from the field on Friday. Dudley is probably the most consistent wing besides Giannis Antetokounmpo, so he's at least worth a look for owners needing points and treys. Rotoworld.com
      Yesterday, 9:52 pm
    • Khris Middleton scores 21 points vs. Hawks
It was Khris Middleton's turn for a big game on Saturday in a loss to the Hawks, scoring 21 points with five rebounds, one assist, one steal and five 3-pointers in 37 minutes.

Advice: It's almost like coach Jason Kidd is flipping a coin on who he's giving his minutes to. Middleton scored just two points on Friday and wasn't over 24 minutes in any of his previous four games, so it's hard to be bullish on him. He's not a waiver-wire target in standard leagues. • Rodney Hood scores four points in start Sat
Rodney Hood scored just four points while starting in place of Alec Burks (shoulder) on Saturday, adding five boards, two assists and one 3-pointer in 29 minutes.

Advice: He was 1-of-8 from the field and also aggravated his ankle in what was a long night for the rookie. He will continue to start as long as Burks is sidelined, but he is too unreliable for all but the deepest of leagues. Ignore Hood on the waiver wire. Rotoworld.com

    • Robert Covington scores 17 in loss Saturday
Robert Covington scored 17 points in a loss to the Jazz on Saturday, adding nine boards, one steal, two blocks and two 3-pointers in 36 minutes.

Advice: He has been a beast since coming to Philadelphia, and is showing no signs of slowing down. Coach Brett Brown loves Covington's ability to stretch the floor, and he will likely see big minutes the rest of the way for the 76ers. Covington is by all means a must-own player in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Chris Copeland gets big minutes
Chris Copeland played 34 minutes against the Nets on Saturday with 12 points, three rebounds, four assists, one steal, one block and two 3-pointers.

Advice: The Pacers didn't have C.J. Miles or Damjan Rudez due to illnesses and Solomon Hill was in foul trouble, so that explains the high minutes. Maybe Copeland earned more playing time, but he's still not worth grabbing in almost any league. Rotoworld.com

    • Rodney Hood (ankle) returns on Saturday
Rodney Hood (ankle) left Saturday's game against the 76ers, but has since returned and is available to play.

J.R. Smith (heel) will not play on Saturday vs. the Kings.

    • Rodney Hood in the starting lineup
Rodney Hood will start in place of Alec Burks (shoulder) on Saturday against the 76ers.

Advice: The Jazz are also gaining some confidence in Dante Exum, so he may get more playing time. Hood is shooting the ball a little better from beyond the arc and he did play 21 minutes on Monday, so there's a chance he gets time in the high 20s tonight. Rotoworld.com

    • Ersan Ilyasova (concussion) out on Saturday
Ersan Ilyasova (concussion) is out for Saturday's game against the Hawks.

Advice: He reportedly suffered the concussion on Tuesday, but it is not related to his previously fractured nose. He has had some tough luck this season, but owners may want to hold onto him considering Jabari Parker (knee) is out for the season. Johnny O'Bryant will likely continue to start for now, but he has been way too inconsistent to rely upon in most leagues. John Henson played well in his return Friday, and is worth a look in deeper leagues for his upside. Rotoworld.com

    • C.J. Miles (illness) out for Saturday's game
C.J. Miles (illness) will not play against the Nets on Saturday.

Advice: He was questionable and Miles just has missed far too many games this season. While he is out, the Pacers figure to get Chris Copeland back in the rotation to help out Solomon Hill. Miles is a tough player to own in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Kobe Bryant (soreness) is probable for Sunday
Kobe Bryant (soreness) is listed as probable to play against the Suns on Sunday.

Advice: The Lakers did list him as probable for Christmas against the Bulls and he missed that game, so this probable tag should be viewed as more of a questionable one. Bryant has complained about his Achilles and his entire body not being at 100 percent, so his owners will want to check back. Wayne Ellington is obviously much less appealing should Kobe make it back. Rotoworld.com

    • Trevor Ariza (knee contusion) is probable
Trevor Ariza (left knee contusion) is probable to play against the Spurs on Sunday.

Advice: This is a new injury and he's already had a minor problem with his calf. Ariza is really struggling in scoring efficiency, but his output in triples has helped him hold solid fantasy value. Rotoworld.com

    • C.J. Miles (illness) is questionable Saturday
C.J. Miles (illness) is considered questionable for Saturday's game vs. the Nets.

Advice: He is dealing with an upper respiratory infection so he likely won't be close to 100 percent even if he does play. Miles has been much better than he was at the beginning of the season, and if he can stay on the court he will continue to be worth a look in standard leagues for his 3-point shooting. Expect Solomon Hill to play big minutes if Miles sits, while Chris Copeland might jump back into the rotation as well. Rotoworld.com

J.R. Smith (heel) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Kings.

Advice: He has missed eight straight games because of his plantar fasciitis, so even if he does play he will likely be eased into action. Smith is worth a flier in deeper leagues for his ability to knock down 3-pointers, but owners in standard leagues can safely monitor him from the waiver wire. Tim Hardaway Jr. will continue playing big minutes if Smith sits this one out. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • Jared Dudley makes NBA history Friday
Jared Dudley made NBA history during Friday's game, becoming the first player to hit 10 or more shots while connecting on three 3-pointers without a miss.

Advice: This arguably goes down as one of the craziest performances in the NBA this season, and if you played Jared Dudley in daily leagues you were more than likely handsomely rewarded. While Dudley will probably never come close to doing this again, he has earned a decent role in Milwaukee following the loss of Jabari Parker (leg) for the season. If you are in need of 3-pointers and steals, Dudley is worth a look. Rotoworld.com

    • Quincy Acy will not play Saturday vs. Kings
Quincy Acy (suspension) will not play on Saturday vs. the Kings.

Advice: He was ejected on Christmas for throwing a punch at John Wall, so his minutes will be soaked up by the likes of Amare Stoudemire, Travis Wear, and Jason Smith. Acy will be able to play on Sunday vs. Portland, but his value is limited to extremely deep leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Muhammad posts empty, inefficient line
Shabazz Muhammad scored 14 points on 5-of-14 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds and one block over 34 minutes in Friday's loss.

Advice: The threes and block save this from being a complete disaster, and because he doesn't do much besides score at times owners need to be ready for the occasional dud. A six-game sample shows him at a mid-round value for owners, so he should be in most lineups unless he starts to fall off. Rotoworld.com

Nick Young hit 5-of-8 threes but missed his other eight shots from the field, finishing with 15 points, five rebounds, two assists and one steal in 29 minutes off the bench on Friday.

Advice: Young is never going to be an efficiency monster and he has done enough recently to be owned in most formats. In 20 games this season, he is averaging 14.9 points with 2.5 treys and 1.2 combined steals and blocks while hitting 40 percent from the field and 89 percent from the line -- good for top 75-110 value in 8- and 9-cat formats, respectively. Trevor Ariza double-doubled in the Rockets' overtime win over the Grizzlies on Friday, scoring 15 points on 5-of-13 shooting (including four threes) with 10 rebounds, two steals and one block.

Advice: Ariza flies underneath the radar playing next to superstars James Harden and Dwight Howard, but his top-60 campaign is exactly what owners bargained for on draft day and there's no end in sight. Rotoworld.com

    • Motiejunas losing his value in Houston
Donatas Motiejunas started and scored four points on 2-of-4 shooting with six rebounds, two assists and two blocks over 31 minutes in Friday's overtime win.

Advice: Motiejunas had started to improve his versatility and played well enough to hold some low-end value in standard leagues over the past few weeks. But with Josh Smith coming in and wasting no time taking on a primary role, there are enough hurdles for owners to move on a drop. If there is any good news for deep league owners it's that Terrence Jones will be out at least a month, and that should leave Motie a 24-28 minute role, albeit with limited touches. Rotoworld.com
      Friday, 11:21 pm
    • Josh Smith takes 21 shots in Houston debut
Josh Smith led the Rockets in field goal attempts with 21 in his Rockets debut on Friday, and he hit just nine of them to finish with 21 points, eight boards and three assists.

Advice: The jokes just write themselves and he was more or less a positive in this game, but as usual he missed both of his 3-point attempts and unlike normal he hit all three free throws without a steal or block in his 32 minutes. We learned tonight that Terrence Jones is going to be out at least a month, making this a two-man timeshare at the power forward position. Smith has been terrible in standard leagues because of his shooting and turnovers, but may be forced by new circumstances to reel himself in. He's well worth a speculative add if he has been dropped but there are no guarantees that he can change his stripes in his 11th season. Rotoworld.com

    • Dudley ties NBA best night w/ 10-of-10 FGs
Jared Dudley tied an NBA season best shooting performance (Jarrett Jack) with 10-of-10 makes from the field, finishing with a season-high 24 points, four threes, four boards, two assists and a season-high four steals to boot.

Advice: Dudley logged 24 minutes off the bench and this has fluke written all over it. The Bucks just had a players only meeting and perhaps that boosted the veterans tonight, but the best we can say about Dudley is that he's worth a look. Ersan Ilyasova's sudden concussion-related absence could boost his profile, but one look at Dudley's game log is proof why owners shouldn't cut anybody of value here. Rotoworld.com

    • Marco Belinelli scores 13 points off bench
Marco Belinelli scored 13 points off the bench against the Pelicans on Friday with three rebounds, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer in 32 minutes.

Advice: He's played 32.2 minutes per game in his last five, averaging 12.0 points, 2.6 boards, 1.8 assists and 1.0 treys. Belinelli is the biggest beneficiary of Kawhi Leonard (hand) missing time, but he's still not worth owning in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Jonas Jerebko lives up to the billing
Jonas Jerebko played 28 minutes as expected on Friday with 10 points, six rebounds, three assists, one block and one 3-pointer.

Advice: It was a solid game with seven field goal attempts. Garbage time was not really a factor and Jerebko should see minutes in the mid-20s off the bench. He is worth a look in deep leagues for his production in treys, points, boards and occasional defense. Rotoworld.com

    • Anthony Tolliver will not play Friday vs. IND
Anthony Tolliver will not suit up for Friday's game vs. the Pacers.

    • Josh Smith will come off the bench
Coach Kevin McHale said he will "play it by ear" on who he is going to start at power forward.

Advice: It's going to be Donatas Motiejunas for the foreseeable future, but it should be Josh Smith in a week or two. Of course, Terrence Jones (leg) will be a factor here too. Fantasy owners shouldn't have high hopes for any of these three guys. Rotoworld.com

    • Marco Belinelli will come off the bench Fri.

    • Kobe Bryant (soreness) out Friday vs. Mavs
Kobe Bryant (general soreness) has been ruled out for Friday's game vs. the Mavs, but coach Byron Scott likes Kobe's chances of playing Sunday vs. the Suns.

Advice: Kobe was doubtful heading into this one, so this news shouldn't come as a surprise. "I just need to kind of hit the reset button," said Bryant. "What happens is my body realizes how messed up it is. Then everything starts hurting. It’s an opportunity to treat everything." While Kobe is sidelined, Nick Young, Wes Johnson, Wayne Ellington, and Carlos Boozer will all see some increased opportunity on offense. Rotoworld.com

    • Kobe Bryant listed as questionable for Friday
Kobe Bryant is listed as questionable for Friday against the Mavericks.

Advice: He said earlier that his Achilles is sore and his chances of playing tonight are slim, so his Bryant's fantasy owners should plan on him sitting. Wayne Ellington will likely get another start while Wes Johnson should have a higher usage rate. Rotoworld.com

    • Kevin Durant out Friday, but getting closer
Kevin Durant (ankle) is getting closer to playing and was at shootaround on Friday, but he will not play against the Hornets.

Advice: It sounds like Sunday is a possibility for KD, but it's pretty clear the Thunder won't be rushing him back. Expect to see a lot of Russell Westbrook and Reggie Jackson against the Hornets. Perry Jones will start and is only a play in deep leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Josh Smith unlikely to start in debut
Josh Smith is expected to "get some run" tonight but is unlikely to start against the Grizzlies.

Advice: That suggests Donatas Motiejunas will start again. There were rumors that Smith wouldn't agree to joining a team unless he starts, so that will likely be happening soon. Motiejunas can be dropped in several formats while Smith's fantasy value isn't great in standard leagues either. Rotoworld.com

    • Josh Smith set to make Rockets debut Friday
Josh Smith has officially signed with Houston, and he's set to make his Rockets debut Friday vs. the Grizzlies.

Advice: Smith will likely start which will send Donatas Motiejunas to the bench. However, the Rockets were forced to cut Tarik Black in order to make room for Smith on the roster, so Motiejunas could see some time as Howard's primary backup with Terrence Jones (leg) still on the shelf. Owners of Motiejunas should see how he performs tonight before making the cut. Rotoworld.com

    • Quincy Acy has been suspended for one game
Quincy Acy has been suspended for one game by the league for his Christmas Day altercation with John Wall.

Advice: Acy will miss Saturday's game vs. Sacramento, so there will be more minutes to go around for Amare Stoudemire, Travis Wear, and Jason Smith. John Wall has received a $15,000 fine for his part in the ordeal. Rotoworld.com
      Friday, 10:11 am
    • Ersan Ilyasova (concussion) out Friday
Ersan Ilyasova (concussion) will not suit up for Friday's game vs. the Hawks.

Advice: This concussion is coming out of nowhere, and Ilyasova just can't seem to stay healthy. A concussion cost him 21 games last year, so there's some cause for concern with this news. The Bucks frontcourt has been decimated by injuries this season, and they'll have to lean heavily upon Zaza Pachulia and Johnny O'Bryant with current starter Larry Sanders (illness) also not expected to play Friday. John Henson (foot) has been upgraded to probable, so if he could also be forced into minutes tonight. Rotoworld.com

    • Kevin Durant (ankle) out Friday vs. Charlotte
Kevin Durant (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday's game vs. the Hornets.

Advice: While it's been Perry Jones starting for Durant, the true beneficiary has been Russell Westbrook who has been playing absolutely out of his mind lately. Westbrook will draw a favorable matchup tonight vs. the Hornets, and will make for an excellent plug-and-play option in daily leagues. Reggie Jackson also will get a small boost in value, while Jones won't be worth using in most leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Kobe Bryant (soreness) unlikely for Friday
Kobe Bryant said both of his Achilles are sore, and his chances to play Friday night vs. the Mavs are "slim."

Advice: Wayne Ellington, Nick Young, Wes Johnson, and Carlos Boozer will all be given more offensive responsibilities with Bryant on the sidelines. Nick Young has been struggling lately sans Kobe, going 6-of-19 from the field through his past two outings, so he makes for a risky option in daily leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Josh Smith is hopeful to play Friday vs. MEM
Josh Smith is hopeful he'll be able to complete his physical and officially sign his deal with Houston early enough on Friday to be available for the Rockets' game vs. the Grizzlies.

Advice: Smith has been guaranteed the starting power forward slot in Houston, and if he's cleared to play tonight Donatas Motiejunas will head to the bench. If Smith isn't able to complete all the necessary paper work in time for tonight's game, he's a sure bet for Sunday's game vs. San Antonio. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • C.J. Miles chosing his spots more carefully
After struggling mightily from the field through the month of November, C.J. Miles has made an effort to choose his shots more wisely during the month of December.

Advice: "We wanted him to be assertive. He has the green light, but we want him to be selective in his shots," said Pacers' head coach Frank Vogel. "I was encouraging him to be so assertive that he was not great with shot selection. I think he's being smarter about that now." Miles is averaging 15.5 points and 2.4 three-pointers per game on 42.4 percent shooting from the field during the month of December, and he'll be worth owning in standard leagues as long as he can keep up his current pace. • Jonas Jerebko ready to step into the rotation
Jonas Jerebko is ready for a larger role with the Pistons with the departure of Josh Smith.

Advice: "Obviously, with a 4 man gone - I see myself as a 4 man - a lot more minutes open up in practice and in games," Jerebko said. "I feel like I'm ready to take that step and I'm ready to go in there and battle for them." Jerebko was buried on the bench while Smith was with the team, but now he'll likely be one of the first bigs off the bench. We’ll be monitoring coach Stan Van Gundy’s rotations closely over the coming weeks, and owners in standard leagues can use a wait-and-see approach with Jerebko. Rotoworld.com

    • Draymond Green does Draymond things
Draymond Green was his usual productive self against the Clippers during a 100-86 loss on Christmas, scoring 10 points with 10 boards, three assists, two steals, two blocks, two 3-pointers and no turnovers in 34 minutes.

Advice: His coach loves him and his play speaks for itself. Green doesn't look like he's in jeopardy of losing his playing time to David Lee and he's also held a solid usage rate since Lee's return. He was the No. 31 player in standard leagues before tonight and should continue to be owned in all leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Kobe Bryant could sit out for a week?
Coach Bryon Scott told Wayne Ellington and the Lakers that "it could be a week" before Kobe Bryant returns to a game action.

Advice: This is another weird story and Bryant was probable for Thursday, so Scott basically pulled a coach Tom Thibodeau here. Bryant said before the game that he's just feeling old, which is not a surprise because he's struggled so much considering how much he's carrying his team. His fantasy owners should bench him for now. Wes Johnson is worth a look in all leagues while Wayne Ellington could play more in the starting lineup. Rotoworld.com
      Thursday, 9:08 pm
    • Nick Young doesn't play well on Christmas
Nick Young made 1-of-6 from the field for three points with one rebound, two assists and one 3-pointer on Thursday against the Bulls.

Advice: Well, at least his girlfriend bought him an Impala for Christmas. Young is just 6-of-19 in his two games without Kobe Bryant (rest), so he's been a bit of a letdown. He's been in the top 60 for fantasy value over the previous two weeks, so he'll be worth owning in standard leagues thanks to his 2.4 triples over that span. Rotoworld.com
      Thursday, 7:36 pm
    • Kobe Bryant (rest) will not play on Christmas
Head coach Byron Scott said that Kobe Bryant is dealing with some "overall soreness," and he will not suit up for the Lakers' Christmas Day game vs. the Bulls, while Kobe says there's only a "slim" chance he'll play on Friday vs. Dallas.

Advice: Bryant was listed as probable for this one, so it is surprising to see Scott suddenly pull the plug. Expect Wayne Ellington, Wes Johnson, Nick Young, and Carlos Boozer to see some increased opportunity on offense, with Young offering the most upside. Rotoworld.com

    • Danny Green struggles with shot in SA loss
Danny Green shot 4-of-13 from the field (2-of-5 from the line) for 12 points during the Spurs' Christmas Day loss to the Thunder, adding two rebounds, two assists, two steals, one block, and two turnovers.

Advice: Green's all-around production is what makes him an elite option, so even when he struggles to score, he's still capable of providing quality statistics in other areas. He had a difficult matchup vs. the Thunder tonight, but he'll likely bounce-back on Friday in what will be a favorable matchup vs. the Pelicans. Keep rolling him out there. Rotoworld.com
      Thursday, 3:17 pm
    • Quincy Acy ejected on Xmas, suspension likely
Quincy Acy was ejected from the Knicks' Christmas Day game vs. the Wizards for throwing a punch at John Wall, and he'll likely be facing a suspension from the league.

Advice: Acy hasn't been worth using in almost any league with averages of 5.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per game this season, so if he's suspended it's not going to mean much. Expect more minutes to go to Amare Stoudemire, Jason Smith, and Carmelo Anthony. If you missed the altercation, you can click the link below. Rotoworld.com
      Thursday, 11:45 am
    • Kevin Durant says he has a 'bad ankle sprain'
Kevin Durant admitted that he's dealing with a "bad ankle sprain."

Advice: "I can't play basketball," said Durant. "I can't run. I can't cut. I can't jump. I'm not just sitting out just because. If I could play I would play. But I can't play." Durant was noncommittal when asked if he thought he would come back soon saying, "it's day-by-day." Durant is looking doubtful for Friday's game vs. Charlotte, and if he's unable to go, Russell Westbrook and Reggie Jackson will be the primary beneficiaries. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • Marco Belinellli will start vs Thunder Thurs
Marco Belinelli will draw the start against the Thunder on Thursday.

Advice: Belinelli will replace Kyle Anderson in the Spurs' starting lineup as Kawhi Leonard (hand) remains out. Belinelli has averaged 12.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 0.7 steals, and 1.0 three-pointers as a starter, so makes for a decent plug-and-play option on Thursday. Rotoworld.com
      Thursday, 10:29 am
    • Kevin Durant confirmed out for Christmas
Thunder head coach Scott Brooks has confirmed Kevin Durant (ankle) as out for Thursday's game against the Spurs.

Advice: Durant wasn't expected to play on Thursday, but this news puts an end to any speculation. "He could not go if he wanted to go," Brooks said. The Thunder play the Hornets on Saturday, but Brooks' statement puts Durant's availability in doubt for that game as well. Russell Westbrook and Reggie Jackson should see the biggest boost on Thursday with Durant out. Rotoworld.com

    • Josh Smith excited to join Houston Rockets
Josh Smith said he is excited to join the Houston Rockets.

Advice: Smith will join old friend Dwight Howard in Houston and referred to James Harden as the best shooting guard in the NBA. "It's an exciting time for me," Smith said on Wednesday. "Being able to be reunited with a good friend and one of the best teammates I ever played with, I think we can definitely do something special." While Smith has plenty of potential, he can be a frustrating player to own so fantasy owners will want to temper their expectations for the mercurial forward. Rotoworld.com

    • J.R. Smith out Thursday vs Wizards
J.R. Smith (heel) will miss Thursday's game against the Wizards.

Advice: Smith went through pre-game warmups, but wasn't feeling well enough to suit up for the Knicks' Christmas Day game against the Wizards. Tim Hardaway Jr. will pickup Smith's minutes and makes for a solid play on Thursday. Rotoworld.com

    • J.R. Smith game-time decision Thursday
J.R. Smith (heel) will be a game-time decision for Thursday's game against the Wizards, according to head coach Derek Fisher.

Advice: Updating a previous item, it seems as if Smith is feeling well enough to be upgraded from doubtful to a game-time decision. This one looks like it will come down to the wire, but Tim Hardaway Jr. would be the biggest fantasy beneficiary if Smith sits. Rotoworld.com

    • J.R. Smith likely to miss Christmas Day game
J.R. Smith (heel) is likely to miss Thursday's game against the Wizards.

Advice: Smith had been hoping to play on Christmas Day, but the last two days of practice didn't go as well as he and the Knicks had hoped. "Right now it’s a no," Smith said of his availability for Thursday. "We’ll see how the treatment reacts today, if it swells up." We'll update his status prior to tip-off, but Tim Hardaway Jr. will be in line for big minutes on Thursday if Smith can't play. Rotoworld.com

    • Josh Smith clears waivers on Wednesday
Josh Smith cleared waivers on Wednesday at 5 pm EST.

Advice: Obviously no team was going to claim Smith and help out the Pistons for their awful contract. He is going to sign with the Rockets for the bi-annual exception at $2.077 million. Interestingly, 25.8 percent of Smith's field goal attempts are long two-pointers of at least 16 feet. On the other hand, only 6.8 percent of the Rockets field goal attempts are long twos. Smith was just the 188th best player in standard leagues and is dead last in true shooting percentage among players with at least 26 minutes per game. Fantasy owners will probably not want to set their hopes too high for any Rockets power forward. Rotoworld.com

    • Kevin Durant (ankle) listed as out for Xmas
Kevin Durant (ankle) is listed as out for Thursday's game against the Spurs.

Advice: The team could change his status tomorrow, but for now he's not expected to play. This is a bit of a surprise considering the team called it a mild sprain and his owners will want to check back tomorrow morning to see if he goes through shootaround. For now, Russell Westbrook and Reggie Jackson benefit. Rotoworld.com

    • Donatas Motiejunas likely headed to bench
Donatas Motiejunas will likely return to a bench role once Josh Smith signs with Houston Wednesday evening.

Advice: It really is a shame considering how well Motiejunas had done after filling in for Terrence Jones (leg) in the starting lineup, but it looks like his time for fantasy relevancy in standard leagues is coming to an end. Owners may want to give it a few games before making a decision, but we won't blame you if you decide to move on. Rotoworld.com

    • Josh Smith has committed to Houston Rockets
Josh Smith has committed to play for the Houston Rockets after he clears waivers at 5:00 pm EST.

Advice: Given his outstanding relationship with Dwight Howard and Houston's promise to put him in the starting lineup, this move was expected. It's a little interesting that the Rockets were so intrigued with Smith given how inefficient he is, but maybe he can turn things around and provide a boost to their playoff aspirations. Terrence Jones and Donatas Motiejunas' value takes a huge hit with this news, but owners should use a wait-and-see approach to see how things pan out. Rotoworld.com

    • J.R. Smith (heel) says he's doubtful Thursday
J.R. Smith (heel) said that he is unlikely to play on Christmas vs. the Wizards.

Advice: He is still dealing with plantar fasciitis so we doubt that he will be activated for Thursday. Smith can continue to be ignored outside of deeper leagues while Tim Hardaway Jr. is making a lot of sense in standard leagues for his 3-pointers. Rotoworld.com

    • Suns Trade Anthony Tolliver for Tony Mitchell
The Phoenix Suns have traded forward Anthony Tolliver to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Tony Mitchell.

Advice: Tolliver wasn't in the rotation in Phoenix and we don't see him playing a lot for the rebuilding Pistons, so this news shouldn't matter in most leagues. Tony Mitchell, on the other hand, has some potential but will likely be waived by the Suns. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • Kobe Bryant will have his minutes monitored
Kobe Bryant will have his minutes monitored on a game-by-game basis moving forward according to coach Byron Scott.

Advice: "It might be something I have to do periodically along with trying to get the minutes down," Scott said. "Sometimes I’ll have to give him days off as well as games off." While Bryant is fully expected to play on Christmas, it may be wise to sell-high on the Mamba with this news because there would be no reason to risk his health in a lost season for the Lakers. Nick Young and Wes Johnson would see their value rise whenever Bryant chooses to rest so plan accordingly. Rotoworld.com

    • Kobe Bryant will play vs. Bulls on Christmas
Kobe Bryant (rest) will play on Christmas Day vs. the Bulls, as expected.

Advice: Did anyone doubt that he'd suit up for this one? Bryant sat out Tuesday's game to get some much needed rest so he should be ready to put on a show against the Bulls. Get the Black Mamba in all active lineups and expect Wayne Ellington to shift back to the bench. Rotoworld.com
      Tuesday, 11:00 pm
    • Nick Young scores 15 points w/ rare full line
Nick Young contributed across the board in Tuesday's upset win vs. Golden State, coming off the bench for 15 points, two 3-pointers, five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block.

Advice: He logged 30 minutes for the second straight game and should thrive whenever Kobe Bryant (rest) isn't in the Lakers' lineup, though he's been good enough to start under any circumstances. He has a total of 11 assists and 11 steals in 17 games this season, while shooting 41.5 percent from the field, so don't expect more than voluminous points (15.6) and 3-pointers (2.4). Rotoworld.com

    • Draymond Green plays only 23 minutes Tuesday
Draymond Green sputtered in 23 minutes on Tuesday, making 1-of-6 shots to finish with two points, three rebounds, two assists and one turnover in a loss to the Lakers.

Advice: Green didn't attempt a free throw or record any 3-pointers, steals or blocks, making this one of his worst statistical lines of the season. David Lee played well with 12 points in 18 minutes off the bench but Green's fantasy owners should view this as a fluke in an otherwise tremendous season. All signs point to Steve Kerr keeping his starting lineup intact -- when asked about it on Monday, Kerr said, "I mean, Draymond has been fantastic." Rotoworld.com
      Tuesday, 10:22 pm
    • Ersan Ilyasova scores four points in return
Ersan Ilyasova (nose) returned to action on Tuesday vs. the Hornets, scoring just four points to go with four boards and one assist in 17 minutes.

Advice: After missing the previous nine games, you could tell that there was some obvious rust and he ended up shooting just 2-of-8 from the field and missing all three 3-point attempts. With that being said, Jabari Parker (knee) is done for the season so there is a chance that Ilyasova can play his way into a larger role as the season progresses. Owners in standard leagues should monitor his progress closely. Rotoworld.com

    • Kobe Bryant rested, will not play Tuesday
Kobe Bryant (rest) will not play vs. the Warriors on Tuesday, but he's expected to meet the Lakers in Chicago for Thursday's game.

Advice: Wayne Ellington will start in Kobe's absence, with Nick Young, Wes Johnson and Jeremy Lin also getting more opportunities. Bryant has deferred the management of his minutes, DNPs and role to coach Byron Scott, and Scott said he intends to play Kobe around 32 minutes per game, down from his current 35 per game. More DNPs during back-to-back sets seem inevitable, and they're something Bryant's fantasy owners will have to live with -- if more rest leads to improved efficiency, the trade-off won't sting nearly as much. • Ersan Ilyasova (nose) will play Tuesday
Ersan Ilyasova (nose) will come off the bench for Tuesday's game vs. the Hornets.

Advice: Ilyasova was playing well before going down, and with Jabari Parker (knee) done for the season, he's going to have plenty of opportunity. Johnny O'Bryant will remain with the starters for tonight's game, but it should only be a matter of time until Ilyasova finds himself in the starting unit. Go and pick him up if he's still available. C.J. Miles (illness) is expected to play Tuesday vs. the Pelicans.

Advice: He's been lighting it up since returning to the lineup, and is averaging 20.5 points, 2.7 3-pointers, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.0 steal per game over the last four. He has a favorable matchup tonight vs. the Pelicans, and should serve as a decent plug-and-play option in daily leagues. Rotoworld.com

J.R. Smith (heel) missed practice on Tuesday and appears to be questionable to play on Christmas.

Advice: "We’ll just see where they are tomorrow & then probably have a better feel how Thursday will look," coach Derek Fisher said. Smith's injury has kept him out for seven games and it's allowed Tim Hardaway Jr. to play more. Smith is not worth owning in standard leagues while THJ only has short-term value. Rotoworld.com

Kevin Durant (ankle) will not play on Tuesday against the Blazers.

Advice: This will be his third game out of the lineup in a row since suffering the injury on Thursday. Durant has not gone through practice and he should be considered questionable to play against the Spurs on Christmas. While he is out, Perry Jones and Anthony Morrow figure to pick up the most playing time. Reggie Jackson will also get a nice boost in usage rate. Rotoworld.com

    • Danny Green doesn't get a stealth pop
Danny Green played 29 minutes against the Clippers on Monday with 11 points, one rebound, five assists, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers.

Advice: He was extremely quiet in the first half, but turned it on late with a huge corner 3-pointer to help ice this one. Green is putting up first-round value on the season, but he'll eventually slow down. Also, the next time he isn't in the starting lineup, it should raise a red flag. Rotoworld.com

    • Trevor Ariza scores seven points in win
Trevor Ariza scored seven points with six rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 32 minutes on Monday.

Advice: He's really cold right now and the timing couldn't be worse. Over his last 11 games, Ariza has made just 32.3 percent from the field with 2.0 turnovers and his fantasy value is bottoming out. With Corey Brewer going off tonight, it's worth seeing if his current fantasy owners is panicking. Ariza should be a mid-round guy this season. Rotoworld.com

    • Corey Brewer shines in his first game
Corey Brewer was terrific in his first game with the Rockets with 12 points, four rebounds, four assists, five steals, one block and two 3-pointers in 23 minutes.

Advice: This came out of nowhere and there's a good chance this will be his best game with the Rockets all season. It actually had nothing to do with garbage time and he had most of his work done in the first half. Brewer is not worth owning in standard leagues and will need to stay very hot to be worth a look. • Landry Fields (concussion) out on Monday
Landry Fields (concussion) will not play against the Bulls on Monday.

    • Trevor Ariza ready to roll vs. Portland
Trevor Ariza (calf) will play against the Blazers on Monday.

Advice: He just has some soreness to his calf and it doesn't sound like it will cost him minutes. Corey Brewer is available, but he's not likely going to be a threat to Ariza's minutes. Hopefully he breaks out of his shooting slump soon. His fantasy owners can plug him into their lineups. Rotoworld.com

    • Kevin Durant misses practice on Monday
Kevin Durant (ankle) missed practice on Monday and is a game-time decision against the Blazers on Tuesday.

Advice: The Thunder called it a "mild" ankle sprain on Friday, but they're still being very cautious. OKC rattled off a seven-game winning streak this month and are already just 1.5 games out of a playoff spot, so resting him makes sense. The Thunder have four games this week, so it's almost impossible to bench KD in weekly leagues. Rotoworld.com

Ersan Ilyasova (face/nose) returned to practice on Monday, and he's questionable for Tuesday against the Hornets.

Advice: Ilyasova is going to get a big chance at meaningful minutes with Jabari Parker (knee) out for the year, and it could come as soon as Tuesday vs. Charlotte. Jared Dudley will lose much of his streamer appeal when Ilyasova initially returns. Rotoworld.com

Corey Brewer and Alexey Shved are expected to be available on Monday against the Blazers.

    • Ariza added to injury report w/ sore calf
Trevor Ariza (sore left calf) is probable to play on Monday vs. the Blazers.

Advice: A late addition to the injury report, Ariza's calf is not considered a major issue. The Rockets can't afford any more injuries to anyone right now, and Ariza would be an especially difficult player to replace if he were forced to miss any time. Rotoworld.com

    • JR Smith more than just 'day-to-day w/ foot
JR Smith (foot) could be facing more than just a "day-to-day" situation.

Advice: Derek Fisher said Smith "may not have been day-to-day," but the Knicks listed him that way anyway on the medical report. Fisher then attempted to clarify with the following: "I think it's day-to-day. From the beginning, it may not have been day-to-day. It was probably going to be a few weeks or so." It's not clear when Smith might actually return yet, and Tim Hardaway, Jr. will continue seeing increased minutes with Iman Shumpert (shoulder) also out. Rotoworld.com

    • Timberwolves impressed with Shabazz Muhammad
The Timberwolves have been impressed with Shabazz Muhammad's development.

Advice: As have fantasy owners. Muhammad has really come on of late, and he's now scored 20-plus points in four straight games. Muhammad has also received at least 15 shots in each of those while playing at least 27.5 minutes, so the opportunity is there for the second-year forward to make his presence felt. He should be owned in all formats. Rotoworld.com

    • Corey Brewer planned to waive player option
Timberwolves President Flip Saunders said he decided to trade Corey Brewer after learning the swingman would waive his player option for next season.

Advice: Additionally, the development of sophomore Shabazz Muhammad allowed the team to pursue a deal that opened up minutes on the wing. Muhammad is the biggest winner of the trade from a fantasy standpoint and should be owned in all leagues at this point. Rotoworld.com

    • Nick Young buries four 3-pointers, scores 26
Nick Young hit four 3-pointers in Sunday's loss to the Kings, which he finished with 26 points, five boards, one assist and two steals in 30 minutes.

Advice: He was in danger of missing this game after his altercation with Steven Adams on Friday, so his owners have to be thrilled with this result. Swaggy P has been phenomenal all season, and with rumors going around that Kobe Bryant may be rested, Young's value is only going to get higher as the season progresses. Rotoworld.com

    • C.J. Miles drops 28 pts with four 3-pointers
The Pacers escaped with a win in Minnesota on Sunday thanks to C.J. Miles scoring 28 points on 10-of-18 shooting, including four 3-pointers.

Advice: Miles did his damage in 32 minutes off Indiana's bench, chipping in six rebounds with zero turnovers, assists, steals or blocks. He's been tremendous since returning to action on Dec. 15, and is worth a pickup based on his averages over the past four games -- 20.5 points, 2.7 threes, 4.7 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 1.0 turnovers. • Chris Copeland picks up DNP-CD on Sunday
Chris Copeland picked up another DNP-CD on Sunday.

Advice: He was a hot commodity early in the season, as he served an ill-fitting role as a go-to offensive player, but his role has evaporated with the return of guys like David West, Rodney Stuckey and C.J. Miles. Rotoworld.com

    • Shabazz Muhammad scores 21 points vs. Indy
Shabazz Muhammad scored 21 points on 8-of-18 FGs and 5-of-6 FTs in Sunday's disappointing home loss, marking his ninth consecutive game with double-digit points.

Advice: Muhammad's rapid development was a big reason the Wolves traded Corey Brewer, and he's poised for big minutes the rest of the season. He added six rebounds, two assists, two steals and three turnovers in 37 minutes on Sunday. Rotoworld.com
      Dec 21, 7:32 pm
    • Robert Covington OK after minor knee injury
Robert Covington tweaked his knee toward the end of Sunday's game but he quickly returned to finish with 11 points, one 3-pointer, 10 rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocks.

Advice: He turned the ball over once in nearly 40 minutes of action and continues to thrive as a starter in Philly, racking up early-round value over the 76ers' past five games. He won't continue to average 3.6 triples per game all season, but has more than enough multi-cat upside to be labeled a 'must-own' player in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com
      Dec 21, 5:51 pm
    • Robert Covington leaves game with knee issue
Robert Covington left Sunday's game against the Magic with a knee issue, but has since returned.

Advice: There were only two minutes left in the game when he tweaked it, but it is a great sign that he was able to play through it. Covington has become a must-own player after his hot start for the 76ers this season, and we will continue to monitor the situation closely. Rotoworld.com

    • Kevin Durant (ankle) out Sunday vs. NO
Kevin Durant (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Pelicans, and Perry Jones will draw the start.

Advice: With Durant sidelined, expect Russell Westbrook to have another big game, and he'll make for an excellent plug-and-play option in daily leagues. Perry Jones and Reggie Jackson will also be asked to step up, however Jones didn't do much with his last start, so he'll be a risky option in dailies. We'll be considering Durant questionable for Tuesday's game vs. Portland. Rotoworld.com

    • Nick Young will play Sunday vs. Sacramento
Nick Young will not be suspended for his flagrant 2 foul on Steve Adams during Friday's game, and he will suit up for Sunday's game vs. the Kings.

Advice: Young is averaging 14.9 points and 2.3 three-pointers per game this season on 40.8 percent shooting from the field, go ahead and get him active. Rotoworld.com
      Dec 21, 1:05 pm
    • Landry Fields (concussion) out on Sunday
Landry Fields (concussion) is out for Sunday's game against the Knicks.

Advice: He failed a concussion test on Sunday morning and he will now have to pass the NBA's protocol for concussions before being cleared again. James Johnson is the main beneficiary in Fields' absence, and is worth a look in most leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Kevin Durant's (ankle) status still unclear
Kevin Durant's (ankle) status for Sunday's game is still uncertain, and coach Scott Brooks will make a decision about 90 minutes prior to tip-off.

Advice: Durant's owners are just thankful that he has a shot to play in this one and that he didn't suffer a setback with his foot. Check back for official confirmation before deploying him in lineups, and expect Reggie Jackson and Perry Jones to pick up the slack if KD sits. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

Ersan Ilyasova (nose) is getting closer to a return, and is expected to be re-evaluated on Monday.

Advice: There is a big opportunity for playing time now that Jabari Parker (knee) is done for the season, so he makes sense as a speculative add. We will update his status as soon as we know more, and we will consider him questionable for Monday's game against the Hornets. Rotoworld.com

    • Khris Middleton has well-rounded game
Khris Middleton played 24 minutes off the bench for 12 points, four rebounds, two assists, one steal and one 3-pointer.

Advice: It was a big step up from his one-point stinker on Thursday and Middleton has fared well in three of his last four. He really doesn't do much outside of score while making only 43.0 percent from the field with 1.3 steals, so his ceiling isn't high enough to grab in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Jared Dudley scores 16 points vs. Clippers
Jared Dudley excelled against his former team on Saturday with 16 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and two 3-pointers in 30 minutes.

Advice: That's back-to-back good games from Dudley and he's passed Khris Middleton as the waiver-wire add du jour. Dudley's done a fair amount of ball handling to go with his perimeter shooting, so there is enough upside to at least give him a look. That said, trusting coach Jason Kidd's rotation is like trusting a dingo to look after your baby. Rotoworld.com

    • Marco Belinelli scores 21 points in start
Marco Belinelli scored a team-high 21 points against the Mavs on Saturday with three rebounds, two assists and five turnovers.

Advice: He played 39 minutes in the starting lineup with the Spurs resting most of their wing guys. Belinelli has been good on the nights he gets heavy minutes, but the problem is that doesn't happen often enough. He'll have a big night again, so keep him in mind the next time the Spurs rest numerous players. Rotoworld.com

    • Trevor Ariza really struggling
Trevor Ariza made 5-of-14 from the field for 13 point with three rebounds, one assist, two steals and three 3-pointers against the Hawks on Saturday.

Advice: He has been struggling in his previous 10, making just 32.4 percent from the field for 14.8 points, 7.6 boards, 1.4 assists and 1.6 steals, but he is still holding decent value in fantasy because of the treys. His catch-and-shoot percentage is a far cry from last year, so maybe this is the John Wall effect. Still, Ariza is a must-start player. Also, there's no need to worry about Corey Brewer. Rotoworld.com

    • Donatas Motiejunas finally struggling
Donatas Motiejunas scored eight points with seven rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 25 minutes against the Hawks on Saturday.

Advice: He's made just 8-of-24 (33.3 percent) from the field in his last two and has finally slowed down. This is probably good news for the Terrence Jones (leg) stashers out there and Motiejunas may have some trouble holding value in a few weeks. If there is an irresistible guy on the wire, D-Mo's ceiling isn't too high anyway. Rotoworld.com

    • Jeff Taylor makes season debut in win Sat
Jeff Taylor made his season debut on Saturday, but failed to register a stat in three minutes.

Advice: To be fair, it is hard to impress in just three minutes, but it is clear that Taylor won't be in the rotation soon. Leave him on the waiver wire. Rotoworld.com

    • Stealth Pop: Danny Green, Tiago Splitter DNPs
Danny Green and Tiago Splitter have been benched for Saturday's game against the Mavericks.

Advice: He was not listed in the starting lineup and coach Gregg Popovich just kept them on the bench. Green has played magnificent basketball and certainly deserved the night off. He's been the biggest steal of fantasy drafts and should get it going on Monday against the Clippers. Rotoworld.com
      Dec 20, 7:19 pm
    • Marco Belinelli set to start on Saturday
Marco Belinelli will start on Saturday vs. Dallas, replacing Danny Green.

Advice: Green will come off of the bench in an effort to monitor his playing time after playing 44 minutes on Friday, so this is by no means a permanent move. Belinelli is worth a look in deeper leagues for owners in need of 3-pointers, and will also be a decent plug-and-play option Saturday. Rotoworld.com
      Dec 20, 4:37 pm
    • Danny Green to come off bench on Saturday
Danny Green will come off of the bench on Saturday vs. Dallas.

Advice: There is nothing to worry about here, as coach Gregg Popovich is likely doing this to reduce Green's workload after playing 44 minutes on Friday. Marco Belinelli will draw the start, and is a sneaky plug-and-play option. Green's owners should temper their expectations for this contest, as we don't see him playing too many minutes Saturday. Rotoworld.com
      Dec 20, 4:31 pm
    • Corey Brewer will not be active on Saturday
Corey Brewer will not be active for Saturday's game against the Hawks.

Advice: He was just recently traded to the Rockets from Minnesota, but he wasn't cleared in time for this contest. However, Brewer lost a lot of fantasy value in this trade, and won't see many minutes as long as Trevor Ariza and James Harden are healthy. Owners in standard leagues can move on. Rotoworld.com
      Dec 20, 3:20 pm
    • Landry Fields practices, cleared of concussion
Landry Fields was cleared for a concussion and was at practice on Saturday.

Advice: He needed stitches to his head from Friday and it appears he will be fine. Fields plays about 20 minutes per night and only has value in extremely deep leagues. James Johnson doesn't get a bump in fantasy value. Rotoworld.com

    • Corey Brewer expected to be available on Sat
Corey Brewer and Alexey Shved missed shootaround on Saturday, but they are expected to be available against the Hawks.

Advice: Brewer will likely be used off of the bench in relief of James Harden and Trevor Ariza, so he won't see a lot of minutes. Brewer lost a lot of value with this trade, and owners in standard leagues can move on. Additionally, Shved likely won't be in the rotation at all, and can be cut across the board. Rotoworld.com

    • Nick Young not happy with Steven Adams
Nick Young was visibly upset after being ejected in the second half of Friday's loss to the Thunder, and is not happy with Thunder center Steven Adams.

Advice: "I got caught up in the moment, but Adams is a sneaky, dirty player," Young said. "He started talking to me the whole game, but I didn't think I was going to get ejected. I lost my mind a little bit, checked into the crazy house." Swaggy P could be looking at a suspension from the league, and if he has to miss any time Wes Johnson would see a bump in his minutes, while Wayne Ellington could also see a larger role as well. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • Danny Green fireworks continue on Friday
Danny Green scored 27 points on 9-of-21 shooting (including six threes) with 10 rebounds and one steal over 44 minutes in Friday's triple-overtime loss to the Blazers.

Advice: Green is returning top 15-25 value (9/8 cat) and while he's getting heavy run this week with the absences and overtime games, his production isn't the outlier that many believe it to be. The real difference in his value lies in the increase in trust and minutes that Gregg Popovich has been willing to give him this season, and it would be pretty surprising if he's not a top-40 play at the end of the year. • Nick Young gets tossed for flagrant 2 foul
Nick Young was ejected in the second half on Friday for a flagrant 2 foul.

Advice: He elbowed Steven Adams in the throat and this was an easy call for the refs. Young could be looking at a suspension from this one, so Wes Johnson and Wayne Ellington may see more playing time on Sunday. Swaggy P finished with 11 points, two rebounds, one steal and three 3-pointers. Rotoworld.com

    • Shabazz Muhammad drops 26-5-5 vs. BOS
Shabazz Muhammad was excellent in his first start at shooting guard on Friday, scoring 26 points with five boards, five assists and two 3-pointers on 11-of-15 from the field.

Advice: The triples were a very nice surprise and he also had a career high in dimes. Muhammad played 38 minutes tonight and he's going to play in the mid-30s most nights going forward. He's not going to be this good, but he should be owned in all standard leagues. Rotoworld.com
      Dec 19, 7:48 pm
    • Waiver Wire Wonder Robert Covington hits six 3s
Robert Covington kept it going against the Hornets on Friday with 19 points, two rebounds, one assist, two blocks and six 3-pointers.

Advice: He's for real. Covington is lapping the field for pickup of the year in deep leagues. He is a perfect fit for the 76ers and is going to keep this up all year. There's a decent chance he flirts with top-40 value. Over his last four, he's averaged 19.0 points, 5.8 boards, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals, 1.0 blocks and 4.3 treys. Rotoworld.com
      Dec 19, 7:02 pm
    • Landry Fields gets stitches, out for game
Landry Fields received stitches to his head on Friday and will not return.

Advice: He had a scary fall and might have suffered a concussion. Fields was in the starting lineup for the Raptors, so they might need to mix it up. James Johnson replaced Fields at the time of the injury and would make the most sense. He's worth a look in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Shabazz Muhammad will start at shooting guard
Shabazz Muhammad will start at shooting guard against the Friday against the Celtics.

Advice: He is getting the ball a ton and was the primary weapon in the second unit. Muhammad is a ball-dominant player, but he does have 64.9 of his baskets coming off an assist. The scoring makes him worth a look in standard leagues and his owners should just hope he starts adding more stats. Rotoworld.com
      Dec 19, 3:10 pm
    • Jeff Taylor is active for Friday night
Jeff Taylor is active to face the 76ers on Friday.

Advice: It will be his first game on the active list since being suspended for 24 games. His suspension ended on Wednesday and he was inactive. Taylor might get some run with Lance Stephenson (hip) out. He can be left on the wire in most leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Shabazz Muhammad time in Minnesota?
Shabazz Muhammad is expected to get more playing time with the trade of Corey Brewer.

Advice: He's played very well and has a superstar-like usage rate of 29.2 over his last seven games. Muhammad has also been playing more time at small forward these days, so that bodes very well for his outlook. He's not going to do much outside of scoring, but he does have two three-steal games in his last four. 'Bazz is better suited for points leagues, but he's worth a look in standards, as well. • Report: Corey Brewer dealt to Houston Rockets
Corey Brewer has been traded to the Rockets for Troy Daniels, Ronny Turiaf, two second-round picks and cash.

Advice: This has been in the works for a few days and was expected to get done today. Brewer will come off the bench to help a very thin second unit for the Rockets right now. He's a great fit in reality, but it's certainly not going to translate to solid fantasy value. Cut him in most leagues. Meanwhile, Shabazz Muhammad will get some extra minutes and is worth a look, especially in points leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Shabazz Muhammad headed for starting lineup?
According to beat reporter Jerry Zgoda, Flip Saunders has been contemplating inserting Shabazz Muhammad into the starting lineup to add some scoring to start the games.

Advice: This is an interesting report, and with trade rumors swirling around Corey Brewer, Muhammad is worth a speculative add in standard leagues. Over the past two weeks, Muhammad is averaging 18.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.0 steal per game while shooting 50.0 percent from the field and 69.8 percent from the line (on 6.1 attempts). However, his value would take a hit once Kevin Martin (wrist) returns. Rotoworld.com

    • Report: 4 teams still vying for Corey Brewer
The Rockets, Clippers, Cavaliers, and Heat are all in pursuit of a trade that would net them Corey Brewer.

Advice: Flip Saunders is reportedly trying to get a first-rounder in exchange for Brewer, but for Brewer, none of these destinations can been seen as a positive from a fantasy perspective. It seems to be only a matter of time until he is dealt, so owners may want to try selling high. Shabazz Muhammad and Chase Budinger would be the primary beneficiaries if/when Brewer is sent elsewhere. Rotoworld.com

    • Draymond Green flirts with a triple-double
Draymond Green filled the stat sheet as per usual with 16 points, nine rebounds, nine assists, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer in 44 minutes against the Thunder on Thursday.

Advice: He did make just 1-of-4 from the line, but who cares? Green is probably third on the NBA's Most Improved Player list behind Jimmy Butler and Anthony Davis, and he's also absolutely no fluke. He has Wally Pipp'd David Lee and should be worth owning in all leagues. Rotoworld.com
      Dec 18, 10:57 pm
    • Khris Middleton scores one point
Khris Middleton was a no-show against the Kings on Thursday with one point, two rebounds, one assist, one steal and one foul in 18 minutes.

Advice: That's good for a 10.3 usage rate, which shattered his previous season low of 14.2. Middleton usually gets to shoot while he's on the court, but it just wasn't in the cards tonight. Coach Jason Kidd is going to yo-yo his minutes, so his owners should not be expecting him to be the next Robert Covington or anything. Rotoworld.com
      Dec 18, 10:31 pm
    • Jared Dudley scores season-high 19 points
Jared Dudley scored a season-high 19 points against the Kings on Thursday with five rebounds, one assist, one steal and two 3-pointers in 33 minutes.

Advice: He had season highs in field goal attempts and free throw attempts in what was obviously his best game. Dudley has barely been shooting the rock while he's been out there and only had 0.8 triples per game in his previous eight games this month. This rotation is going to be a mess, so he's not a standard league target based on this game alone. Rotoworld.com
      Dec 18, 10:26 pm
    • Donatas Motiejiunas finally has a bad game
Donatas Motiejunas had an overdue dud on Thursday against the Pelicans with nine points, four rebounds and two assists in 23 minutes.

Advice: He got a front-row seat to watch Anthony Davis destroy him and he gets a pass here. Motiejunas made an impressive 56.7 percent from the field in his previous 10 for 16.6 points per game, so expect him to turn it around on Saturday against the Hawks. Rotoworld.com
      Dec 18, 9:11 pm
    • Corey Brewer deal not far behind
Corey Brewer could be traded to the Rockets before the weekend.

Advice: He would go from a guy seeing around 30 minutes to being a backup to two high-minute guys in Trevor Ariza and James Harden. Brewer would be a great fit, but the vast majority of his offense would have to come in transition. If he's on your team and Marcus Smart is out there, it makes sense to switch them and think ahead. Shabazz Muhammad is also an option, but it better suited for points leagues. Ariza would not be affected much. Harden wouldn't either, but you knew that. Rotoworld.com

    • Danny Green (foot) expected to play Friday
Danny Green (foot) was spotted limping to the Spurs' locker room after Wednesday's triple-overtime loss, but he's still expected to play Friday vs. Portland.

Advice: "I'm not considered one of the older guys here, so I have to play," said Green. After a very up-and-down season last year, he's hitting career-highs in all categories this season, and he's entered elite territory. Check back for an official update on his status closer to Friday's tip, but consider him probable. Rotoworld.com

    • Danny Green seen limping after Spurs loss
Danny Green (foot) was seen limping in the Spurs' locker room after Wednesday's triple-overtime loss to the Spurs.

Advice: Green took a hard foul towards the end of the first overtime, but the injury doesn't seem serious as he hasn't popped up on the injury report yet. We'll keep an eye on this one and Marco Belinelli, Manu Ginobili, and Kyle Anderson would see an uptick in fantasy value if Green misses any time. Green scored a season-high 25 points in Wednesday's loss and is worth an add in standard fantasy leagues due to his recent strong play. Rotoworld.com

    • Donatas Motiejunas keeps the party going
Donatas Motiejunas was fantastic against the Nuggets on Wednesday with 18 points, six rebounds, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers in 42 minutes.

Advice: Terrence Jones (leg) is at least getting some shots up at practice, so he's at least on his way back. There is still no timetable for his return, so Motiejunas is good to go as a must-start guy right now. Keep him roster and cross the TJ bridge when you get to it. Rotoworld.com

    • C.J. Miles scores 17 in loss to Clippers
C.J. Miles came off the bench to hit 6-of-14 shots and two 3-pointers for 17 points, three rebounds, three assists and a steal in Wednesday's loss to the Clippers.

Advice: He had 20 points and three 3-pointers on Monday night, and had a 30-point game on December 10. He appears to be over his knee injury and it would not be surprising to see him replace Solomon Hill in the starting lineup at some point in the near future. He's a streaky shooter and has trouble staying healthy, so make sure you can handle the headaches that are coming if you pick him up. Rotoworld.com

    • Khris Middleton drops 17 points in 33 minutes
Khris Middleton scored 17 points in 33 minutes against the Blazers on Wednesday with three rebounds, three steals and four 3-pointers.

Advice: He started the second half with Giannis Antetokounmpo (ankle) going down in the second quarter. Middleton is certainly going to benefit with the injury to Jabari Parker (knee) and does have a usage rate of 20, so he's worth a look in standard leagues. His prospective owners just need to remember that coach Jason Kidd runs some wild rotation and Antetokounmpo's injury is not serious. Rotoworld.com
      Dec 17, 10:59 pm
    • Jared Dudley scores three points in start
Jared Dudley scored three points in 27 minutes during a start against the Blazers on Wednesday, adding two rebounds, five assists and one steal.

Advice: He committed four fouls and wasn't as involved in the offense nearly as much. Dudley's usage rate is extremely low, so he's not going to be asked to score much. His assists are fairly high for a guy with his role, but it's still not enough to move the needle enough to grab him in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Danny Green goes bonkers in triple-OT loss
Danny Green had one of the most unique stat lines in NBA history on Wednesday during a triple-overtime loss to Memphis, scoring a season-high 25 points with seven rebounds, three assists, two steals, five blocks and seven 3-pointers in 52 minutes.

Advice: He became the first player in NBA history to make seven triples and block five shots in a game. Unlike last year, Green is seeing consistent minutes and it's led to him flirting with first-round value on the season. He's not going to be this great, but he's absolutely going to smash his ADP.
