  • Marcus Smart says ankle finally 100 percent
Marcus Smart said that he has now fully recovered from the ankle sprain that sidelined him for nearly a month during the regular-season.

Advice: Smart went down with the ankle injury on November 7, and didn't return until December 3, but he was in pain for most of the season. Smart played some quality defense during his rookie season, but his averages of 8.6 points, 2.9 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.3 three-pointers on 35.9 percent shooting from the field (62.5 percent from the stripe) left a lot to be desired from a fantasy perspective. He'll need to improve his assist numbers and shooting percentages in order to become a standard league asset, and we'll be monitoring his development closely this offseason. Rotoworld.com

  • Report: Varejao to be activated for Finals?
Brian Windhorst is reporting that Anderson Varejao (Achilles) could be activated during the Finals in the event of an emergency.

Advice: Cavs' GM David Griffin said back in April that he didn't even believe it was a "remote possibility" that Varejao could return this postseason, so this report should be viewed with some skepticism. Windhorst does say that Varejao will only play on an emergency basis, so it sounds like as long as Timofey Mozgov and Tristan Thompson are healthy, we're not going to see Varejao activated. • Wayne Ellington says shoulder has healed
Wayne Ellington said on Thursday that his shoulder has fully healed.

Advice: Ellington was forced to miss the end of the Lakers 2014-15 season with a Grade 1 shoulder separation, but he's now back to 100 percent. He’ll be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and it'll be interesting to see where he lands. Ellington had some nice spurts with the Lakers this year, but his averages of 10.0 points and 1.4 three-pointers per game leave a lot to be desired from a fantasy perspective. He's unlikely to hold any standard league value next season, regardless of where he lands. Rotoworld.com

  • Elton Brand will wait to decide on NBA future
Elton Brand said during his exit interview that he will take several weeks before making a decision on whether or not he will return for a 17th season.

Advice: "I’ll see if I have another year of trying to get prepared and what it takes to be on an NBA roster," Brand said. "There is a lot of work you have to put in… After two or three weeks, I’ll know. See if I have that itch." Brand will offer veteran leadership to any team's roster, but his days of fantasy relevancy are long behind him. Rotoworld.com

  • Shelvin Mack (shoulder) out 3-4 months
Shelvin Mack will be sidelined for the next 3-4 months with a Grade 5 separation of the right shoulder that will require surgery.

Advice: Mack sustained the injury during the closing minutes of Game 4's season-ending loss to the Cavs, and he's scheduled to undergo surgery on Tuesday. He'll have plenty of time to get ready for training camp, but as the third-string point guard in Atlanta, his fantasy value is right around zero. Rotoworld.com

  • Julius Randle (leg) cleared for full contact
Julius Randle (leg) has been cleared for full contact half court 2-on-2 and 3-on-3 sessions.

Advice: Randle's next step will be going through 4-on-4 drills, but he continues to move in a positive direction, and at this rate he should be good to go for Las Vegas Summer League. The Lakers have a lot of decisions to make this offseason with regards to the roster, but depending on how things shake out, Randle may have the opportunity to step into a starting role next season. As always, will continue to track his progress closely this offseason. Rotoworld.com

  • Dudley says guys don't want to play w/ Kobe
Jared Dudley proclaimed during an appearance on an ESPN radio show on Tuesday that "most guys don't want to play with Kobe [Bryant]."

Advice: "He wants to show everyone so much," Dudley said. "We love you Kobe. But come on, it’s like, it’s now time to start giving up. Most guys don’t want to play with Kobe. Kobe gets in this thing where he doesn’t pass and then he over-passes and he’s trying to get triple-doubles every night. You have [the ability to pass]. It’s just not something he wants to do. And that’s why I think it’ll be a while before the Lakers can get good." Rotoworld.com

  • Jared Dudley apologizes for Anthony comments
Jared Dudley apologized for saying Carmelo Anthony is the most overrated player in the NBA.

Advice: After saying Anthony has failed to take his team past the second round in the playoffs, Dudley quickly backtracked from his comments. "I shouldn’t have said that that was my fault for saying that because it’s not the truth," Dudley said on Wednesday. "I apologize for saying that about Carmelo." While Dudley has apologized, the first Knicks-Bucks matchup of the 2015-16 season will be an interesting one. Rotoworld.com

  • Feats of Strength: Festus Ezeli scores 12
Festus Ezeli scored a playoff career-high 12 points against the Rockets on Wednesday, adding nine rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 28 minutes.

Advice: Andrew Bogut was in foul trouble and the Warriors were lucky to get a massive game out of their backup center. Ezeli was only playing 7.5 minutes per game in these playoffs before this win and he's likely earned some extra playing time in the NBA Finals. Considering how much LeBron James likes to get into the paint, the Warriors are likely going to have some fouling issues. Of course, don't expect Festus to play this much. Rotoworld.com

  • Shelvin Mack will have shoulder surgery
Shelvin Mack will have surgery on his right shoulder.

Advice: The Hawks are really, really banged up with the season ending. Mack separated his shoulder and the surgery should take place next week. He'll be nothing more than a backup next season. Rotoworld.com

  • Jared Dudley calls Carmelo overrated
Jared Dudley said Carmelo Anthony is the most overrated player in the NBA.

Advice: "He’s gotta get out of the first, second rounds," Dudley said. "He’s gotta get his teams to the playoffs. LeBron with that roster, LeBron would’ve gotten them to the playoffs." This one will be going on the bulletin board when Melo takes on Dudley next season. Rotoworld.com

  • Marreese Speights (calf) still out, progressing
Marreese Speights (calf) will not play against the Rockets on Wednesday.

  • LeBron wanted Joe Harris to get some minutes
LeBron James said that mission in Game 4 against the Hawks was to get Joe Harris into the game.

Advice: "My mission was to get Joe Harris into the game," James said. "That's what I told the guys at halftime. I said, our motivation for the second half is to get Joe Harris in the game, and they answered the call." The Cavaliers had a 17-point lead at the half, but James made sure his team kept up the pressure so that Harris could get some action. Harris hit both of his shots and finished with seven points, one board, one assist and one 3-pointer in six minutes. The rookie has played well in spurts this season, but he won't see consistent playing time with the Cavaliers close to full strength. Rotoworld.com

  • Matthew Dellavedova was sick during Game 4
Head coach David Blatt said that Matthew Dellavedova was dealing with an illness in Game 4 vs. the Hawks.

Advice: Dellavedova played just 17 minutes in Game 4 after playing 45 in Game 3, but the biggest reason why he saw a reduced role was because Kyrie Irving (knee) returned from a two-game absence. The NBA Finals don't take place until June 4, so Dellavedova will have more than enough time to fully recover. However, with Irving active, he won't see enough run to matter in fantasy leagues. • Bogdan Bogdanovic won't come to NBA yet
Bogdan Bogdanovic will not be making the jump to the NBA next season, as he is still committed to Fenerbahce in Turkey.

Advice: The Suns selected Bogdanovic with the 27th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, but we will unfortunately have to wait at least one more year until we see him in the NBA. He was recently named the Euroleague Rising Star for the second year in a row, so the Suns have to be excited about his potential. For now, Bogdanovic is not on the fantasy radar. Rotoworld.com

  • Report: Beno Udrih will undergo ankle surgery
Beno Udrih will undergo ankle surgery and will not play with the Slovenian national team at Eurobasket this summer.

Advice: We don't have a lot of details right now, but it is likely a minor procedure. Udrih played through an ankle issue during the playoffs, but the fact that he won't play with the Slovenian national team means that he will have plenty of time to recover. As always, we will track his progress closely and will update his status once more is known. Rotoworld.com

  • Jae Crowder is making 'great strides' in recovery
Celtics general manager Danny Ainge said that Jae Crowder is making "great strides" in his recovery from a left knee sprain.

Advice: Ainge also said that Crowder has been able to do some light workouts, but he didn't specify exactly what he was doing. The Celtics would like to sign Crowder to a multi-year deal this summer, and both parties appear anxious to get a deal done. "I just think what I bring to the game and what they need … it’s a good fit," Crowder said. "Hopefully we can get something done that’ll keep me here for a long time." We will continue to track his progress closely this summer, but he should be ready in time for training camp. Rotoworld.com

  • Kosta Koufos drawing interest around league
Kosta Koufos will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, and teams such as the Magic, Celtics and Kings are interested in signing him.

Advice: Koufos was stuck behind Marc Gasol in Memphis, and he has made it known that he would like to have a starting role. If the Grizzlies are able to retain Gasol, it sounds like Koufos will likely be wearing a different uniform next season. Koufos averaged just 5.2 points, 5.3 boards and 0.8 blocks in just 16.6 minutes per game this season, but he could pop up on the radar in fantasy leagues if he lands in an ideal situation. • Marreese Speights doing some running
Marreese Speights (right calf) advanced to running the stairs on Monday.

Advice: He's still out for Game 4, but could get back to court work in the next day or two. Speights could be ready for the NBA Finals, but obviously the Warriors may not need him. Festus Ezeli has really stepped up for the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals. Rotoworld.com

  • Andrew Bogut praises Festuz Ezeli's effort
Andrew Bogut praised Festuz Ezeli's effort after Saturday's Game 3 win over the Rockets.

Advice: "[Ezeli] was huge for us. He's been playing great all series in my opinion," Bogut said. "He has stayed professional and when he gets limited minutes he stays ready. He got some extended minute [Saturday] and did a hell of a job for us. That's what we're going to need." Ezeli stepped up on Saturday night when Bogut got into foul trouble, playing some excellent defense against Dwight Howard while scoring 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting to go with six boards and a block. The Warriors need his size to battle with big D12, and so far, he's gotten the job done. Rotoworld.com

  • Marreese Speights (calf) ruled out for Game 4
Marreese Speights (calf) is making progress, but he will not play in Game 4 against the Rockets on Monday.

Advice: David Lee was initially the one getting the minutes with Speights sidelined, but he's nearly fallen out of the rotation entirely during the Houston series. Festus Ezeli has earned himself a nice role off the bench in the Conference Finals, but with averages of just 6.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.0 block over 13.6 minutes of action, he's not much of an asset in fantasy basketball. Speights is unlikely to be a factor the rest of the way. Rotoworld.com

  • Julius Randle continues to show improvement
Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said that it looks like Julius Randle (leg) "has recovered completely".

Advice: This is definitely exciting news for Randle, and it appears that his recovery is going very smoothly. All signs point to him playing during the Las Vegas Summer League, and it will be interesting to see how he does after such a long time on the shelf. Randle could potentially be the starting power forward next season if he impresses this summer, so we will be sure to track his progress very closely. Rotoworld.com

Marreese Speights (calf) will not play against the Rockets in Game 3 on Saturday.

Advice: He is expected to be held out for the first five game of the series against Houston, so this isn't a surprise. With Speights out of the lineup, Festus Ezeli should see around 10-12 minutes per game moving forward. Head coach Steve Kerr did say that Speights has shown improvement, so we will continue to track his progress closely. Rotoworld.com

  • Dellavedova gets the job done for the Cavs
Matthew Dellavedova got the job done for the Cavs in Friday's Game 1 win over the Hawks, scoring 11 points on 4-of-13 shooting (including two threes) with six rebounds, four assists and one steal in fill-in duty for Kyrie Irving.

Advice: Delly played great defense and was aggressive against a shell-shocked Hawks squad. The Cavs might decide to buy some rest for Irving after the way the Hawks looked beaten tonight, so we could see some more big outings for the St. Marys product in DFS formats. Rotoworld.com

  • BOS again makes it clear Crowder a priority
Celtics' president Rich Gotham stated on Thursday that signing Jae Crowder as a restricted free agent this offseason will be a "priority" for the Celtics.

Advice: "[Crowder] added toughness, energy and confidence," said Gotham. "I think he gave our guys a swagger." Multiple executives from Boston's front offices have openly stated their desire to retain Crowder as a restricted free agent this offseason, and it'll be interesting to see just how high they go in order to keep him in a Celtics' jersey. Crowder had a nice run down the stretch, posting averages of 11.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 0.9 three-pointers per game during the month of April, so he'll be a nice low-end option in deep leagues if he does indeed remain in Boston. • Kosta Koufos wants to be a starter
Kosta Koufos, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, wants to be a starter in the NBA.

Advice: Koufos was a very solid backup in Memphis behind Marc Gasol, and he will be sure to command plenty of interest on the open market. The Grizzlies will obviously make re-signing Gasol their top priority, so it's possible that they are forced to part ways with Koufos. If he lands in an ideal situation, Koufos could be a name to watch heading into fantasy drafts next season. Rotoworld.com

  • Marreese Speights (calf) doubtful Games 2-5
Marreese Speights expects his moderately strained calf to sideline him for at least the first five games of the Western Conference Finals.

Advice: Speights has already been ruled out for Tuesday's series opener and it sounds like he'll be on the shelf a while longer. His absence opens up extra opportunities for David Lee off the bench, with Festus Ezeli also playing more minutes vs. Dwight Howard and the Rockets. Rotoworld.com
