    • Option picked up
The Celtics will exercise Hauser's $2.1 million option for the 2024-25 season Saturday, Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: Both parties are expected to have negotiations on an extension after the window to do so opens July 9, but for the time being, Hauser will at least be back with the Celtics for the 2024-25 season. The 26-year-old has seen his role grow with the club in each of the three years he has been on the team. He was a key rotational piece on this season's championship-winning squad, averaging 9.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 triples and 0.5 steals across 22.0 minutes in 79 games. Rotowire.com Today, 8:52 am
    • Woj: HOU to pick up Jae’Sean Tate’s player option
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Rockets are picking up Jae’Sean Tate’s player option for the 2024-25 season.

Advice: Tate, who appeared in 65 games last season, will make approximately $7.6 million in 2024-25. The versatile forward averaged 4.1 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 0.6 steals in 15.2 minutes, with his production and playing time decreasing due to the arrivals of Dillon Brooks and Amen Thompson. And this was with Tari Eason missing most of the season with a leg injury. A healthy Eason in the rotation lowers Tate’s fantasy ceiling even more. Rotoworld Today, 8:20 am
    • Woj: Kevin Love to decline player option
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Kevin Love is declining his player option for the 2024-25 season.

Advice: Had he opted into the final season of his contract, Love would have made approximately $4 million in 2024-25. He’ll become an unrestricted free agent, but Wojnarowski also reported that Love and the Heat are “enthusiastic” about being able to work out a deal. Love will likely have limited fantasy value if he returns to Miami, as the Heat have Bam Adebayo as their starting center and selected Indiana’s Kel’El Ware with the 15th overall pick in Wednesday’s NBA Draft. • Testing free agency
Love declined $4.03 million player option for the 2024-25 season Saturday and will become an unrestricted free agent, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Advice: Though Love will hit the open market, he and the Heat are optimistic about negotiating a new deal in the opening days of free agency. The veteran big man has carved out a nice role off the bench in Miami, where he has been productive in relatively short-minute stints. Overall, Love averaged 8.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.5 triples across 16.8 minutes in 55 appearances in 2023-24. If Love does in fact re-sign with Miami, he'll face a new challenger for the top backup role behind starting center Bam Adebayo, as the Heat used its first-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft on Indiana big man Kel'el Ware. • Woj: Magic to decline Joe Ingles’ player option
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Magic are declining Joe Ingles’ $11 million team option for next season, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Advice: While Ingles will be an unrestricted free agent when free agency opens on Sunday evening, this does not mean his time in Orlando is over. According to Wojnarowski, the two sides will continue to have dialogue on a potential agreement. Ingles appeared in 68 games during his first season with the Magic, averaging 4.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.0 3-pointers in 17.2 minutes. Given the presence of Jalen Suggs and Franz Wagner, Ingles’ fantasy impact was muted last season. Rotoworld Today, 8:02 am
    • Team option turned down
The Magic declined Ingles' $11 million team option for the 2024-25 season Saturday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Advice: Though Orlando wasn't interested in retaining Ingles at an $11 million salary figure, the team is expected to try and re-sign the 36-year-old at a more favorable rate. However, Ingles' skills as a perimeter shooter and secondary playmaker should make him a sought-after player in free agency for contending clubs looking to bolster their bench unit, so the Magic could face competition in their bid to retain him. Over 68 appearances for Orlando in 2023-24, Ingles averaged 4.4 points, 3.0 assists, 2.1 rebounds and 0.6 steals in 17.2 minutes while shooting 43.6 percent from the field. • Heading for free agency
Cain will become an unrestricted free agent after the Heat declined to extend him a $2.09 million qualifying offer Friday, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Advice: The Heat extended qualifying offers for fellow two-way players Alondes Williams and Cole Swider but elected not to do the same for Cain, who recently wrapped up his second season on a two-way deal. The 25-year-old forward logged just 44 appearances over the last two seasons with Miami, but he was a standout performer for the G League's Sioux Falls Skyforce in 2023-24, averaging 23.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.2 steals, 1.6 three-pointers and 1.1 blocks in 39.1 minutes over 15 appearances. If the Heat don't elect to re-sign Cain, he shouldn't have much trouble finding an opportunity elsewhere on a two-way deal or a non-guaranteed contract. Rotowire.com Today, 5:37 am
    • Report: Jaxson Hayes to exercise player option
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Jaxson Hayes has decided to exercise his player option for the 2024-25 season.

Advice: Hayes is due to make approximately $2.4 million in 2024-25, and the decision to opt into his contract means the Lakers will have a full rotation at center. Anthony Davis prefers to play at power forward, and having Hayes and Christian Wood under contract will give new head coach JJ Redick more opportunities to make that happen. That said, Hayes and Wood don’t offer enough fantasy value to merit being selected in most drafts. Rotoworld Today, 5:09 am
    • Picking up player option
Hayes informed the Lakers on Friday that he will exercise his $2.4 million player option for the 2024-25 season, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Hayes likely would have been on track for a one-year contract at a similar salary level in free agency had he declined the option, so he'll stick around in Los Angeles with the hope that he can solidify himself as the top backup center under first-year head coach JJ Redick. Previous coach Darvin Ham deployed Hayes as Anthony Davis' primary backup in 2023-24, though the Lakers were without Hayes' main competitors for the position -- Jarred Vanderbilt and Christian Wood -- for much of the season due to injury. Vanderbilt and Wood are both healthy again and are under contract for the upcoming season, so Hayes could struggle to reach the 70 appearances and 12.5 minutes per contest he averaged in 2023-24.
