    • Deron Williams suffers strained right calf
Deron Williams suffered a strained right calf on Friday and will not return.

Advice: Williams has a litany of leg injuries and he might be getting an MRI to check on the severity of the strain. He also has history of calf strains, so he's a good bet to miss at least a couple games. Jarrett Jack is worth a look for short-term value. Rotoworld.com

    • Darrell Arthur (leg) will not play on Friday
Darrell Arthur (leg) will not play on Friday night against the Clippers.

Advice: He has a lower leg strain and the injuries just keep coming for Arthur. He's played well, but he's going to be tough to own in most leagues. Kenneth Faried and J.J. Hickson will pick up some playing time. Rotoworld.com

    • George Hill (knee) practices on Friday
George Hill (knee, quad) participated during Friday's practice, and ran with the starters towards the end with C.J. Watson (sinus infection) unable to finish the session.

Advice: Slowly but surely Hill is nearing a return. He's likely going to start out slow after being sidelined for over a month, but he offers enough upside to warrant a stash in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • C.J. Watson (illness) is probable for Sat
C.J. Watson (illness) is probable to play against the Nuggets on Saturday.

Advice: He did not finish practice and has been ill since Wednesday. Watson should be fine, but his fantasy value is about to take a hit with George Hill almost ready to go. Rotoworld.com

    • Ricky Rubio hopeful for contact in two weeks
Ricky Rubio (ankle) is hoping to take on contact in two weeks.

Advice: He was hoping to play around Christmas, but it doesn't sound like that's going to happen. Rubio will likely take at least a week to progress from practice to games. In other words, he's probably looking to return in January. Rotoworld.com

    • Mario Chalmers starting, Norris Cole benched
Mario Chalmers will start at point guard on Friday night against the Wizards.

Advice: The move is a little overdue with Norris Cole not playing well. Chalmers is going to do a lot of work as a shooter as Dwyane Wade handles the ball, but his upside in treys and steals will make him worth owning in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Nicolas Batum (knee) out Friday vs. the Spurs
Nicolas Batum (wrist, knee) has been ruled out for Friday's game vs. the Spurs.

Advice: C.J McCollum, Dorell Wright, Allen Crabbe, and Will Barton will all step up to help fill the void with Batum sidelined, but none of these guys make for a great play in standard leagues. Portland plays again Saturday against the Pelicans, and we'll be considering Batum questionable for that one. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • Tony Allen (eye) out Friday vs. Chicago
Tony Allen (right corneal abrasion) will not suit up for Friday's game vs. the Bulls.

Advice: Quincy Pondexter will likely draw the start, while Vince Carter will see extended minutes off the bench. Carter logged 41 minutes during his last outing with Allen sidelined, and put up 18 points with five 3-pointers, he does however have a difficult matchup against the Bulls, so Carter remains a risky option in daily leagues. • Francisco Garcia gets cut
      Rockets waive G/F Francisco Garcia.

    • Jordan Hill expected to start with minutes limit
Jordan Hill (illness) is expected to start against the Thunder on Friday.

Advice: He is expected to have a limitation on his minutes. Hill has been sick for the past two days and was not at shootaround. His owners will want to check back and may want to consider him benching him considering this is a late game. If he's out, Robert Sacre will likely pick up his minutes while Ed Davis may also play a little more. Rotoworld.com

Spencer Hawes (knee) will not suit up for Friday's game vs. Denver.

Advice: Hawes has been out of the lineup since Dec. 12, and he remains without an official timetable to return. As long as DeAndre Jordan is healthy, he's not going to be worth owning in most leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Jameer Nelson not active Friday vs. MIN
Jameer Nelson will not be active for Friday's game vs. the Timberwolves.

Advice: With Marcus Smart (Achilles) being listed as questionable, there's a chance that Evan Turner will draw the start in a favorable matchup vs. the Wolves. Turner has averaged 16.0 points, 3.5 assists, and 3.5 rebounds through two games with the starting unit this season, so he could work as a plug-and-play option in daily leagues. Stay tuned. • Joakim Noah (ankle) probable Friday vs. MEM
Joakim Noah (ankle) is probable to play Friday vs. the Grizzlies.

Advice: The Bulls sure could use him going up against Memphis, and owners can probably feel comfortable plugging him into their lineups. We'll let you know if anything changes. Rotoworld.com
      Today, 10:33 am
    • Derrick Rose (illness) out Friday vs. Memphis
Derrick Rose (illness) has been ruled out for Friday's game vs. the Grizzlies.

Advice: Expect Kirk Hinrich to draw the start, Aaron Brooks to see extended minutes off the bench, and Jimmy Butler to be tasked with running the offense. The Bulls don't play again until Monday, so we'll consider Rose questionable for that one. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com
      Today, 10:21 am
    • Tony Allen (eye) questionable Friday vs. CHI
Tony Allen (right corneal abrasion) is questionable to play Friday vs. the Bulls.

Advice: If Allen is forced to sit, Quincy Pondexter would likely draw another start, but he doesn't do enough statistically to be considered an option in most leagues. While Allen averages 25.8 minutes per game, he's not a large part of the offense (6.5 FGAs per game) so his absence doesn't have too much of a statistical impact on the player replacing him. • Boston's new arrivals uncertain for Friday
Jameer Nelson, Jae Crowder, and Brandan Wright did not arrive in time for shootaround, and their status for Friday's game vs. Minnesota is uncertain.

Advice: With Marcus Smart (Achilles) being listed as questionable, and Jameer's status uncertain, Evan Turner could draw the start on Friday in a favorable matchup vs. the Timberwolves. Jae Crowder would likely play sparingly behind Jeff Green if available, so his status shouldn't matter in most leagues, while Brandan Wright's spot in the rotation is not clear at this point. Stay tuned for an official update closer to tip-off. Rotoworld.com
      Today, 10:06 am
    • Danny Granger (illness) expected to play Fri.
Danny Granger (illness) went through shootaround and is expected to be available to play Friday vs. the Wizards.

Advice: Granger is averaging just 4.0 points on 30.0 percent shooting from the field this season, so whether he plays or not should be of little concern to owners in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Stephen Curry goes off with 34 points in win
Stephen Curry had one of his patented explosions against the Thunder during a 114-109 win on Thursday, scoring 34 points with seven rebounds, nine assists, four steals, one block and five 3-pointers in 42 minutes.

Advice: The Thunder came out firing with a 40-point first quarter, but Curry got it going. He did have a minor ankle scare tonight and it did not cause him to miss time. On top of the obvious treys, Curry has career highs in free throw makes, rebounds, steals, usage rate and true shooting percentage. Superstar. Rotoworld.com

    • Marreese Speights has 10 points in 19 minutes
Marreese Speights had 10 points in 19 minutes against the Thunder on Thursday with five rebounds, one assist and two blocks.

Advice: He has a very high usage rate and should be able to score in the teens while Andrew Bogut (knee) is out. Bogut could miss up to a month, so that means the Speights Cowboy is worth a grab in standard leagues. Some people call him Marreese. Rotoworld.com

    • Russell Westbrook scores 33 points in loss
Russell Westbrook scored 33 points against the Warriors on Thursday on 11-of-30 from the field and 8-of-12 from the line, adding three rebounds, eight assists, two steals, six turnovers and three 3-pointers.

Advice: It was the Russell Westbrook Show -- a great show, by the way -- in the second half as he posted a ridiculous usage rate of 46.5 to go with an assist percentage of 27.3. Westbrook is easily of the best players in the league and all of his naysayers have decided to hide out for a while. He can stuff a stat sheet like only a few others can and should be viewed as a first-round asset in standard leagues. He might be the best player for Daily Fantasy Sites this side of Anthony Davis. • Jared Dudley scores season-high 19 points
Jared Dudley scored a season-high 19 points against the Kings on Thursday with five rebounds, one assist, one steal and two 3-pointers in 33 minutes.

Advice: He had season highs in field goal attempts and free throw attempts in what was obviously his best game. Dudley has barely been shooting the rock while he's been out there and only had 0.8 triples per game in his previous eight games this month. This rotation is going to be a mess, so he's not a standard league target based on this game alone. Rotoworld.com

    • O.J. Mayo scores 19 points in a win
O.J. Mayo scored 19 points in just 23 minutes against the Kings on Thursday with two rebounds, one assist, one steal and three 3-pointers.

Advice: He started out red hot with 17 of those 19 coming in the first quarter, but cooled off with some fouling issues. Surprisingly, Mayo's worst quarter this season has been the first and he's been able to exhibit some added effort on both ends. What's more, his fouling has been his biggest issue with at least five fouls in three of his last five. He's more of a player to track in standards, but a big game could change that. Rotoworld.com

    • Jerryd Bayless plays 29 minutes on Thursday
Jerryd Bayless played 29 minutes against the Kings on Thursday with 17 points, four rebounds, five assists and three 3-pointers.

Advice: O.J. Mayo battled some foul trouble, so Bayless picked up some of the slack. He's going to get minutes in the mid-20s while the Bucks try to figure out how to fill their minutes at the forward spots, so he might have some low-end value in standard leagues for the next couple weeks. • Johnny O'Bryant plays 17 minutes
Johnny O'Bryant played 17 minutes in his first NBA start on Thursday with six points, one rebound and one assist against the Kings.

Advice: He had four fouls and had several "Welcome to the NBA" moments tonight. O'Bryant is a banger and doesn't have much polish to his game, but the Bucks need someone like that right now. His minutes might climb into the 20s while Ersan Ilyasova (face) is out. He's not worth owning in almost any league, though. Rotoworld.com
      Yesterday, 10:12 pm
    • Jason Thompson takes a backseat
Jason Thompson played 19 minutes with three points, three boards and two turnovers against the Bucks on Thursday.

Advice: He made 1-of-4 from the field and anyone who rode him in a deep league should be looking at other options. Thompson is not worth owning in even 20-team leagues. Rotoworld.com
      Yesterday, 9:54 pm
    • Omer Asik looks like garbage again
Omer Asik did not play down the stretch on Thursday against the Rockets, finishing with two points, 11 rebounds, one assist and three turnovers in 28 minutes.

Advice: He is one of the most inept offensive big men in the NBA and doesn't even block shots. Asik has been the 176th-best player in standard leagues over the past month, so there is nothing wrong with cutting him if you want to add the upside of Marcus Smart or someone else. Rotoworld.com

    • James Harden scores 21 points in a loss
James Harden scored 21 points on 8-of-23 from the field during a 99-90 loss to the Pelicans on Thursday, adding seven rebounds, five assists and two 3-pointers.

Advice: Kudos to Austin Rivers for actually doing something most players can't do: Keep Harden in check. Obviously Harden is one of the biggest stat-stuffers in the NBA, leading the NBA in scoring and free throw makes with two steals per night. He did play the second half of a back-to-back, so he'll be fine. Rotoworld.com

    • Joakim Noah plays 34 minutes
Joakim Noah played 34 minutes against the Knicks during a 103-97 win on Thursday, making 1-of-8 from the field for four points with 13 rebounds, three assists and one block.

Advice: He had six offensive rebounds and also had the biggest rebound of the game to help close out the win. Noah has dealt with knee soreness and ankle issues for much of the season, so the durability is somewhat troubling. Plus, most of his other numbers are down, so he's not even close to being as valuable in fantasy as he was last season. Rotoworld.com

    • Derrick Rose not traveling with team to Memphis
Derrick Rose (illness) is not traveling with the Bulls for Friday's game against the Grizzlies.

Advice: He could travel on his own, but we would consider Rose doubtful to play. After playing 11 in a row, he's going to miss his second consecutive game. The former MVP is the most annoying player to own and his owners have probably checked for updates more than any other player. Aaron Brooks is worth a look in a sub-par matchup. Rotoworld.com

    • Johnny O'Bryant getting the start vs. Kings
Johnny O'Bryant will start at power forward against the Kings.

Advice: He made his NBA debut on Wednesday and he already making his first start. The Bucks are completely gutted up front and have nobody behind O'Bryant and Zaza Pachulia, so he could get big minutes. Of course, he's only worth a look in very deep leagues. O'Bryant joins Brandon Knight, O.J. Mayo, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Pachulia in the starting unit. Rotoworld.com

    • Nicolas Batum (knee, wrist) questionable Fri
Nicolas Batum (left knee contusion, right wrist) is questionable to play against the Spurs on Friday.

Advice: This probably has to do with his bad fall from the incident with Larry Sanders on Wednesday. Batum did not miss time, but he does have a history with wrist and knee ailments. If he misses time, C.J. McCollum, Dorell Wright and Will Barton will likely pick up some minutes -- none are great fantasy plays. Batum owners will want to check back on Friday morning. Rotoworld.com

    • Joakim Noah (ankle) will play Thursday vs. NY
Joakim Noah (ankle) will play Thursday vs. the Knicks, as expected.

Advice: Get him in your lineups for what is a favorable matchup vs. the Knicks. With Derrick Rose (illness) unavailable for this one, Noah will be asked to do a bit more on offense, and he makes for a solid plug-and-play option in daily leagues. Rotoworld.com
      Yesterday, 3:32 pm
    • Derrick Rose (illness) will not play on Thurs
Derrick Rose (illness) will not play against the Knicks on Thursday.

Advice: He was questionable for the game due to an illness and this will snap his 11-game streak of playing in games -- his longest since his ACL tear. Rose should be considered questionable for Friday against the Grizzlies. Meanwhile, Aaron Brooks is an interesting option as a plug-and-play guy. Kirk Hinrich will likely start. Rotoworld.com
      Yesterday, 3:19 pm
    • Jameer Nelson headed to Boston
Jameer Nelson has been traded to the Celtics.

Advice: He is having an awful year with the Mavericks and perhaps his zero-point game is what forced the team's hand to make a deal. Simply put, this might be the worst year of his career. He has a career low in assist percentage, usage rate, field goal percentage and points while just being roasted on the defensive end. Nelson is not part Boston's future, so there is little reason to add him. Rotoworld.com

    • Jordan Hill (illness) probable for Friday
Jordan Hill (upper respiratory infection) did not practice on Thursday, but he is being listed as probable for Friday's game vs. OKC.

Advice: This is Hill's second consecutive missed practice, but he doesn't appear to be in jeopardy of missing Friday's game. Still, owners will want to check back for an official update closer to Friday's tip, and if he's unable to go, Robert Sacre, Ed Davis, and Carlos Boozer will help fill the void. Stay tuned. • Derrick Rose questionable for Thursday night
Derrick Rose (illness) is questionable for Thursday night's game against the Knicks.

Advice: Besides the fact that Rose has played in 11 consecutive games, the silver lining here is that his questionable status has nothing to do with his knees. We'll update his status as soon as we know more, but Rose looks to be headed towards a game-time decision for Thursday's game. If Rose sits against the Knicks, Kirk Hinrich and Aaron Brooks would become viable plug-and-play options while Jimmy Butler would also see an uptick in his fantasy value. Rotoworld.com

    • Joakim Noah expected to play Thurs vs NYK
Joakim Noah (ankle) is expected to play against the Knicks on Thursday.

Advice: Noah was a participant in shootaround and is expected to be available when the Bulls take on the Knicks Thursday night. Noah's owners can feel free to plug him back into their starting lineups, while Taj Gibson and Nikola Mirotic will see their fantasy value take a hit upon Noah's return. Rotoworld.com

    • Spencer Hawes downplays knee injury
Spencer Hawes (knee) downplayed the seriousness of his injury to his left knee.

Advice: There had been rumors of a more serious nature to Hawes' injury as he's still without a timetable, but Hawes downplayed those reports are greatly exaggerated. "I'm not out for the season," he told reporters on Wednesday. While Hawes may not be out for the season, he's not going to help fantasy owners much and can safely be left on the waiver wire. • James Harden scores 41 points in OT win
James Harden added his newest piece of evidence in his bid for MVP during a 115-111 overtime win over the Nuggets on Wednesday scoring 41 points with four rebounds, 10 assists, two steals and one 3-pointer.

Advice: He made 11-of-21 from the field and 18-of-21 from the field in 45 minutes. This line is pretty ridiculous and he became the sixth player since 1985-86 to have more than 20 attempts from the field, more than 20 attempts from the line, and at least 10 assists. The other five are Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Allen Iverson and Kenny Anderson. Harden is good. Rotoworld.com

    • Nicolas Batum is fine after a bad fall
Nicolas Batum had a bad fall against the Bucks on Wednesday, finishing with eight points, six rebounds, six assists, one steal and one 3-pointer.

Advice: Larry Sanders committed a dirty foul on Batum and he was down for a couple minutes, but he did not miss time at all in tonight's game. Batum does play some stretch four, so that might actually help him get more shots while the Blazers adapt to not having Robin Lopez. He's still a nice buy-low player. Rotoworld.com

    • C.J. Watson goes for 12 & 4 in start
C.J. Watson had 12 points, four assists and five turnovers on 3-of-9 shooting in Wednesday's loss.

    • Jerryd Bayless scores 10 in 22 minutes
Jerryd Bayless scored 10 points with two rebounds, three assists and two turnovers in 22 minutes on Wednesday.

Advice: He played his first two seasons in Portland, but didn't get his revenge. Bayless is likely to see a slight increase in playing time, but he's not taking many threes and is posting a low usage, so it's hard to be too excited about grabbing him in most leagues. Rotoworld.com
      Wednesday, 11:14 pm
    • O.J. Mayo plays 36 minutes on Wednesday
O.J. Mayo made 4-of-12 from the field for 12 points with one rebound, two assists, two steals, five fouls and three turnovers in 36 minutes against the Blazers on Wednesday.

Advice: It's the first time he's played 36 minutes in a non-overtime game in the past year and the Bucks losing Giannis Antetokounmpo (ankle) just before halftime probably had something to do with it. Mayo played 16 minutes in the first half, so the plan was probably to give him around 32 minutes. Conditioning hasn't been an issue for him and he's seen some minutes at small forward this season, so owners in standard leagues can keep him in mind. He's still not playing well enough to grab, though. Rotoworld.com

    • Johnny O'Bryant makes his debut
Johnny O'Bryant played five minutes in his NBA debut with two points on Wednesday.

Advice: The good news is he's made 100 percent from the field, but the bad news is he has 9.6 fouls per 48 minutes. O'Bryant has no fantasy value. Rotoworld.com

    • Jared Dudley scores three points in start
Jared Dudley scored three points in 27 minutes during a start against the Blazers on Wednesday, adding two rebounds, five assists and one steal.

Advice: He committed four fouls and wasn't as involved in the offense nearly as much. Dudley's usage rate is extremely low, so he's not going to be asked to score much. His assists are fairly high for a guy with his role, but it's still not enough to move the needle enough to grab him in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Mario Chalmers struggles in 32 minutes
Mario Chalmers came off the bench for 11 points, one rebound, zero assists, two steals and a 3-pointer on 3-of-13 shooting in 32 minutes on Wednesday.

Advice: Chalmers has been quiet since the return of Dwyane Wade, but Norris Cole played just 17 minutes tonight and had one point and zero assists. If Chalmers can reclaim the starting job from Cole, which could be coming, he'll be a must-own player going forward. Just hang onto him for now, if you own him. Rotoworld.com

    • Jameer Nelson scoreless despite start, 26 min
Jameer Nelson started and played 26 minutes, but missed all four of his shots and finished with zero points and zero assists in a win over the Pistons.

Advice: Devin Harris had eight points, nine assists and two 3-pointers off the bench, and is clearly the better play right now. This could all be a moot point soon though, as ESPN's Marc Stein is reporting that the Mavs are in serious discussions with the Celtics in a deal that would send Rajon Rondo to Dallas for a package that would include C Brandan Wright. And if you think Nelson's hideous play this season has Mark Cuban trying to work out a deal for Rondo, you're probably right. Rotoworld.com

    • C.J. Watson will start against the Clippers
C.J. Watson (illness) will start against the Clippers on Wednesday.

Advice: He missed shootaround due to an illness, but it sounds like he's good to go based on the starting distinction. Watson has been inconsistent on the season, averaging 11.2 points, 4.4 assists and 1.2 triples in 25.0 minutes. He's worth owning in deeper leagues until George Hill (knee) is back. Rotoworld.com

Jared Dudley will start in place of Jabari Parker on Wednesday.

Advice: He replaced Jabari when the injury happened, so this move is not a surprise. Dudley also played 20 minutes in the second half on Monday, so he should see a nice increase in playing time. He's worth a look in standard leagues, but there's no need to be too aggressive. Rotoworld.com

Advice: He has been playing around 30 minutes per night before taking garbage time into account, so the Pacers would have a big hole to fill. Donald Sloan would pick up some extra playing time while Rodney Stuckey's minutes would be extremely safe. Rotoworld.com

    • Joakim Noah says he'll play on Thursday
Joakim Noah (ankle) said he will play against the Knicks on Thursday.

Advice: It's the Bulls, so he's not a complete lock to play. Noah has been held out of the lineup for the past four games, but he did go through practice. Upon his return, Taj Gibson will lose some minutes while Nikola Mirotic will also lose some playing time -- he's struggled lately. Noah's owners can pencil him in for their lineups. Rotoworld.com

    • Joakim Noah (ankle) expects to play Thursday
Joakim Noah (ankle) fully expects to play against the Knicks on Thursday if all goes well.

Advice: He practiced fully on Wednesday and as long as he is feeling up for it he will play against the Knicks. Noah has missed the last four games, but owners can finally expect to have him back and would be wise to get him in their lineups. Taj Gibson would likely slide back to the bench with this news and Nikola Mirotic could potentially fall out of the rotation. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • Tony Allen iffy for Wednesday w/ eye injury
Tony Allen suffered a corneal abrasion in his right eye on Tuesday and is questionable to play on Wednesday against the Spurs.

Advice: If Allen's out it's going to leave a big dent in the defensive scheme of Memphis, while Courtney Lee, Vince Carter and Tayshaun Prince would all see some extra minutes against the Spurs. Rotoworld.com

    • Russell Westbrook scores 32 points Tuesday
Russell Westbrook scored 32 points on 11-of-20 shooting in Tuesday's win vs. the Kings, adding six boards, seven assists, four steals and one 3-pointer in 32 minutes.

Advice: Westbrook has had at least 20 points, five boards, and five assists over his last nine games, and has played his way into MVP consideration. He has been the best player on the Thunder this season, and is doing a fine job propelling the Thunder until Kevin Durant regains his previous form. Continue to expect big things from Westbrook as the Thunder edge closer to a playoff spot. Rotoworld.com

    • Deron Williams double-doubles in loss Tuesday
Deron Williams double-doubled in Tuesday's loss to the Heat, finishing with 15 points, 11 assists, one board, two steals and one 3-pointer in 39 minutes.

Advice: The trade rumors aren't going anywhere, but Williams doesn't seem too distracted on the court and has been playing really well lately. There is always going to be some risk involved with his shaky ankles, but as long as he stays healthy he will remain a must-start option in all leagues. If you were ever thinking about trading D-Will, his value likely won't be any higher than it is right now. Rotoworld.com

    • Mario Chalmers plays well off bench Tuesday
Mario Chalmers played well in Tuesday's win against the Nets, scoring 10 points to go with seven boards, five assists and four steals in 31 minutes.

Advice: Chalmers is tough to own when Dwyane Wade is active, but tonight was an exception. Mario was excellent on both ends of the floor and the four steals illustrates why he is so valuable in fantasy. He also shot 6-of-6 from the free throw line on the night, despite turning the ball over three times. He should be owned in all leagues, and will become a must-start player if Norris Cole goes down with an injury. Rotoworld.com

    • Marreese Speights drops 18-8-2 line in loss
Marreese Speights came off the bench for 18 points, eight rebounds and two blocks on 7-of-14 shooting in 26 minutes on Tuesday.

Advice: With news that Andrew Bogut's knee injury might be more serious than we were initially led to believe, Picking up Speights might be a good idea. He usually gets just 19 minutes a game, but saw more than that tonight and could be a very effective fantasy player if Bogut is going to miss extended time. Rotoworld.com

    • Steph Curry hits 1-of-10 treys as streak ends
Stephen Curry hit just 9-of-25 shots and 1-of-10 3-pointers for 19 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four steals in Tuesday's loss to the Grizzlies, the Warriors first since Nov. 11.

Advice: The Grizzlies play solid defense and the Warriors could have used Andrew Bogut, or Harrison Barnes being at 100 percent, which would have helped them keep the 16-game winning streak alive. We're not going to lie and say the Warriors are glad the streak is over, but the pressure is off and they'll no longer have to hear about it every day, which has to be viewed as a good thing. With tonight's loss the Warriors are still a league best 21-3. Rotoworld.com

    • Tony Allen goes leaves game after hard fall
Tony Allen left Tuesday's game after a hard fall and is questionable to return.

Advice: It will be interesting to see if he returns to the game and we will be sure to update his status as soon as we know more. If Allen were to miss time, Tayshaun Prince and Vince Carter will see a bump in their minutes, but still won't be worth picking up in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Danny Granger (illness) out Tuesday vs. BKN
Danny Granger (illness) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game vs. the Nets.

Advice: With Granger out, Luol Deng will get all the minutes he can handle, and he'll be tasked with a bit more offensive responsibilities with Chris Bosh (calf) sidelined. Rotoworld.com

    • Report: Nets not having fire sale
While reports have surfaced that the Nets want to blow up their team and trade Deron Williams, Joe Johnson and Brook Lopez, it sounds like they're more interested in making one big deal and staying competitive as they rebuild.

Advice: A more logical theory is that they would trade one of their so-called Big 3, and maybe two of them, but not all three. This can be viewed as good or bad news for Nets fans, as it sounds like the team will attempt to move a big contract or two but not tank to improve their draft position. Rotoworld.com

    • George Hill (knee) ramping up activities
George Hill (knee, quad) went through most of Tuesday's practice, although he has "a long way to go with his conditioning," according to head coach Frank Vogel.

Advice: Vogel added that Hill is "moving really well," and it's probably time to grab him off the waiver wire if he's still available. He's nearing a return, and he's going to be asked to be one of the Pacers' main guys on offense with Paul George (leg) sidelined. It's reasonable to think he'll be able to get somewhere near his 2012-13 averages of 14.2 points, 4.7 assists, 1.7 three-pointers, and 1.1 steals per game. Rotoworld.com

    • Danny Granger misses Tuesday shootaround
Danny Granger (illness) missed Tuesday's shootaround in advance of the Heat's game against the Nets Tuesday night.

Advice: We'll consider Granger as questionable heading into Tuesday night's game against the Knicks as he deals with the illness that he affected quite a few Heat players. Granger has only hit four of 16 shots in his past three games and just isn't worth fantasy owners' attention right now. Rotoworld.com

    • Ricky Rubio may return earlier than expected
Ricky Rubio (ankle) is running on his own and could speed up his return timetable, according to head coach Flip Saunders.

Advice: Saunders said he's hopeful that Rubio will be able to get on the court by Christmas, which would put him on-track for a return in early-January. Rubio will likely be eased back into the rotation upon his return, but he should be owned in all fantasy leagues for his ability to rack up assists and steals. Rotoworld.com

    • Jerryd Bayless plays 26 minutes vs. Suns
Jerryd Bayless had a nice game in his hometown vs. the Suns on Monday, scoring 11 points with four rebounds, four assists, two steals, one block and one 3-pointer in a 96-94 win.

Advice: He's played in at least 20 minutes with at least nine points in each of his last five, averaging 10.8 points, 3.4 boards, 3.4 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.8 triples. He should get a few minutes of extra playing time as the Bucks shift their wings up to the three and four spots. He's worth a look in deep leagues. Rotoworld.com
      Monday, 10:59 pm
    • Jared Dudley plays 31 minutes as fill in
Jared Dudley replaced Jabari Parker (knee) after his knee injury on Monday, finishing with 10 points, two rebounds, five assists, two steals and three 3-pointers.

Advice: Coach Jason Kidd hasn't been playing Dudley too much with just 18.9 minutes per game on the season, but it's fair to think he'll get his playing time to around 26-28 minutes per game. He'll have a chance to make 1.5 treys per game, which puts him on the radar in standard leagues. Unless you hate the guy on the end of your bench, it's probably better to wait and see how things go on Wednesday against the Blazers. Rotoworld.com
      Monday, 10:39 pm
    • Watson scores 12 points with four assists
C.J. Watson scored 12 points on 3-of-3 shooting (6-of-7 FTs) with zero rebounds, four assists and two steals over 23 minutes in Monday's blowout win.

Advice: Watson's line wouldn't have had as many holes if he played the full amount, but looking forward George Hill's eventual return will steal away his upside. Tonight's minutes will probably look pretty familiar when that happens though, so he could retain low-end value in 12-16 team leagues at that point. Rotoworld.com
      Monday, 10:26 pm
    • Derrick Rose struggles with his shot
Derrick Rose made 6-of-17 from the field for 14 points with five rebounds, eight assists, one block and six turnovers in 32 minutes.

Advice: Coach Tom Thibodeau wanted Rose to be aggressive, but he had six mid-range attempts tonight and was careless with the ball. Poor game aside, it's nice to see Rose on the court for 11 consecutive games, so his fantasy owners should have some confidence in him on a nightly basis. Rose hasn't been in the top 150 for standard leagues per-game fantasy value. Rotoworld.com
      Monday, 9:31 pm
    • Spencer Hawes out on Monday night
Spencer Hawes (knee) will not play on Monday against the Pistons.

Advice: Coach Doc Rivers said he did not know when Hawes would make it back. Hawes is just a backup to DeAndre Jordan with the occasional minutes at power forward, so his owners shouldn't be too attached to him. Rotoworld.com

    • Mayo leaves game with hamstring injury
O.J. Mayo left Monday's game with a hamstring injury and returned to start the second half.

Advice: Now that Jabari Parker has gone down to a serious looking knee injury, his outlook has actually improved tonight. We'll be monitoring this game closely and for what it's worth Mayo has nine points, four rebounds, four turnovers and one three in 20 minutes mid-way through the third quarter. Rotoworld.com
      Monday, 6:39 pm
    • George Hill going through full practice
George Hill (knee, quad) will be going "full out" at practice this week, according to coach Frank Vogel.

Advice: "Unlikely [he'll play] on this trip," Vogel added, "but not out of the realm of possibility." It's probably about time to pick up Hill in most leagues since he could be ready next week. Donald Sloan will get bumped in the rotation while C.J. Watson should lose playing time. Rotoworld.com

    • Joakim Noah will not play on Monday night
Joakim Noah (ankle) will not play against the Hawks on Monday.

Advice: He was doubtful for this one and had almost no chance to play. Noah could miss more time and the Bulls are not going to rush him back considering they have such great depth behind him. Taj Gibson will start and is a must-start play while Nikola Mirotic will also get more run. Rotoworld.com
      Monday, 3:01 pm
    • Joakim Noah (ankle) doubtful to play Monday
Joakim Noah (ankle) is being listed as doubtful for Monday's game against the Hawks.

Advice: We would be shocked if Noah played. Without him, Pau Gasol, Taj Gibson and Nikola Mirotic will all see more playing time. The Bulls are also playing the second of a back-to-back, so that's something to consider when filling out lineups in daily leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Thibodeau wants Rose to be aggressive in 4th
Tom Thibodeau wants Derrick Rose to be more aggressive in the fourth quarter.

Advice: "Just put it in my mind: It’s still the fourth quarter no matter what the score is I still have to be myself in the fourth quarter," said Rose. "Thibs always tells me I should be more aggressive in the fourth no matter what the score of the game is. Just getting those reps; shooting mid range, getting my floater game together." Rose added that he wasn't mentally prepared for his previous comeback, but this time around "it's totally different. I'm at peace with myself." Rotoworld.com

    • Westbrook shooting career-high from field
Russell Westbrook is shooting a career-high 48.9 percent from the field and a career-high 35.7 percent from behind the 3-point line.

Advice: Westbrook has been on an absolute tear this season, and he's doing it with improved efficiency. Westbrook is averaging a ridiculous 25.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 6.8 assists to go along with 1.7 steals and 1.0 3-pointers per game. The only knock on him currently is his 4.1 turnovers per game, but considering the stats he's piling up in an average of just 29.5 minutes, none of his owners are complaining. Let Westbrook be Westbrook. Rotoworld.com

    • Russell Westbrook nearly triple-doubles Sun
Russell Westbrook nearly triple-doubled in Sunday's win against the Suns, finishing with 28 points, eight boards, eight assists, two steals and one 3-pointer in 27 minutes.

Advice: If this game wasn't over so quickly, he would have easily been able to notch the coveted triple-double. Instead, he was able to comfortably watch the game end from the sidelines as the Thunder destroyed the Suns. He made all 13 of his shot attempts from the free throw line and was an animal on both ends of the court all night. The Thunder are in a heated playoff race and Westbrook looks poised to put them on his back. Rotoworld.com
      Sunday, 6:41 pm
    • Derrick Rose quiet w/ 14 points vs. Miami
Derrick Rose couldn't build on his momentum from Friday's 31-point outburst, finishing Sunday's road win with 14 points and three assists in 27 minutes.

Advice: Tom Thibodeau continues to be conservative with his starting PG's playing time, which makes perfect sense, and fantasy owners should still be ecstatic about Rose's averages over the past three games -- 22.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. His utter lack of defensive stats takes a big chunk out of his value in 8-cat and 9-cat leagues, where he's only a top-100 value so far this year (on a per-game basis). Rotoworld.com
      Sunday, 5:56 pm
    • Joakim Noah (ankle) out Sunday vs. Miami
Joakim Noah (ankle) will not suit up for Sunday's game vs. the Heat.

Advice: Taj Gibson, Pau Gasol, and Nikola Mirotic will all see an uptick in value with Noah sidelined, and make for quality plug-and-play options in daily leagues against a depleted Miami frontcourt. Plan accordingly. Rotoworld.com
      Sunday, 1:46 pm
    • Joakim Noah (ankle) is doubtful for Sunday
Joakim Noah (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game vs. the Heat.

Advice: He has missed the Bulls last two games, and he appears likely to sit this one out as well. Noah said on Friday that his ankle is showing signs of improvement, but knowing the Bulls they will probably proceed with extreme caution. Owners should have a backup plan ready and we expect Taj Gibson to start and play big minutes if Noah sits. Nikola Mirotic would also continue to have a good role off of the bench and could be a sneaky plug-and-play. Rotoworld.com

    • Spencer Hawes gets good news after MRI
Spencer Hawes had an MRI on Saturday and it revealed no structural damage.

Advice: This is great news for the Clippers and coach Doc Rivers even said that Hawes could have played on Saturday if he needed him too. However, the Clippers are going to be cautious with him and they have not yet provided a timetable for his return. "I think it's still early," Hawes said. "We want to figure out exactly what the issue is and try to go forward from there." This is something that we will monitor very closely, and we will provide an update to his status as needed. If he misses any more time, Glen Davis and Hedo Turkoglu will receive a slight boost. Rotoworld.com

    • James Harden drops third trip-dub of career
James Harden logged the third triple-double of his career on Saturday with 25 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, one steal, two blocks and two 3-pointers in 38 minutes.

Advice: He did make just 7-of-20 from the field, which dropped his season shooting to just 41.7 percent. On the other hand, he's made 89.1 percent of his 9.6 free throws per game, which boost his true shooting percentage to 57.8 percent. Harden is the third-best player in fantasy leagues despite his poor shooting and turnovers. He's a monster everywhere else, though. Rotoworld.com
      Saturday, 9:11 pm
    • Darrell Arthur goes off against Houston
Darrell Arthur went off against the Rockets during a 108-96 loss on Saturday, scoring a team-high 20 points with six rebounds, one assist, one steal and four 3-pointers.

Advice: Just about every other big man was in foul trouble and Kenneth Faried (ankle) had an injury, so Arthur picked up some playing time. He doesn't usually get big minutes while the team is healthy, so he's only worth a look in deep leagues. Rotoworld.com
      Saturday, 8:51 pm
    • O.J. Mayo scores six in 11 minutes
O.J. Mayo scored six points against the Clippers on Saturday with one assist and two turnovers in 11 minutes.

Advice: It's his second game in his last four with minutes under 14 and he's made just 40 percent from the field on the year, so it's going to be awfully tough to trust him. Mayo is going to need to string together about five games in a row for fantasy owners in most leagues to consider grabbing him. Rotoworld.com
      Saturday, 7:46 pm
    • Deron Williams plays well in easy win on Sat
Deron Williams played well in Saturday's easy win over the Hornets, finishing with 18 points on 4-of-11 shooting to go with 10 assists, two boards and three 3-pointers in 26 minutes.

Advice: This line would have been even more impressive if this game wasn't such a blowout, but owners can't really complain. Williams has been playing pretty well this season despite slumping last week, but as long as he is healthy he will be a must-start option in all leagues. Rotoworld.com
      Saturday, 7:37 pm
    • Nicolas Batum fills it up on Saturday
Nicolas Batum was up to his stat-stuffing ways during a 95-85 win over the Pacers on Saturday, scoring 14 points with four rebounds, five assists, three steals and one 3-pointer in 36 minutes.

Advice: He made 6-of-11 from the field, which he really needed after making just 33.7 percent from the field in his previous 10. Compared to last season, Batum's averages are down in points, boards and triples, but he should get it all sorted out soon. The buy-low window is going to close, especially with a four-game week on the horizon. Rotoworld.com
      Saturday, 6:40 pm
    • C.J. Watson scores 23 points in 33 minutes
C.J. Watson had his best game of the season on Saturday with 23 points, one rebound, five assists and four 3-pointers in 33 minutes.

Advice: He made just 37.1 percent from the field this season before tonight, but buried 8-of-11 in a losing effort. His minutes have been on the rise and he should be able to keep his minutes in the mid 20s even when George Hill gets back. He's worth a look for owners need treys. Rotoworld.com

    • Spencer Hawes (knee) won't play on Saturday
Spencer Hawes (knee) will not play on Saturday against the Bucks.

Advice: There was almost no way he was going to play because his twisted knee caused some bruising. Expect to see Hedo Turkoglu and Glen Davis to get more minutes. Hawes doesn't really have enough upside to stash. Rotoworld.com

    • Johnny O'Bryant is available on Saturday

    • Steph Curry scores 29, GSW wins 15th in a row
Stephen Curry scored a game-high 29 points against the Mavericks during a 105-98 win on Saturday, adding three rebounds, eight assists, two steals, three 3-pointers and one turnover.

Advice: This game wasn't that close and the Warriors put up a ridiculously efficient 39 points in the first quarter. They actually missed a ton of wide-open triples today, but had a slew of easy buckets around the rim due to great passing. Curry is unstoppable and is going to be great for a very long time. • Jameer Nelson plays 27 minutes in return
Jameer Nelson played 28 minutes in his return to the lineup on Saturday against the Warriors, making 2-of-7 from the field for six points with four rebounds, five assists and one steal.

Advice: He had some Kinesio tape on his shooting shoulder and maybe that was a factor today. Nelson is making just 38.1 percent from the from the field on the season while not doing much else, so he's not a fantasy option right now. Rotoworld.com
      Saturday, 1:43 pm
    • Johnny O'Bryant (knee) questionable Saturday
Johnny O'Bryant (knee) is considered questionable for Saturday's game vs. the Clippers.

Advice: He likely won't be in the rotation upon his return and would need an injury to Zaza Pachulia or Larry Sanders before owners in deep leagues should pay him any attention. Leave him on the waiver wire. Rotoworld.com
      Saturday, 10:41 am
    • Jameer Nelson (shoulder) will play Saturday
Jameer Nelson (shoulder) will play in Saturday's game vs. the Warriors.

Advice: He doesn't have a favorable matchup considering he will have to go up against arguably the best point guard in the league, Stephen Curry, so owners should probably look elsewhere for production. Devin Harris and J.J. Barea's value takes a hit with this news. Rotoworld.com
      Saturday, 10:02 am
    • Spencer Hawes (knee) doubtful for Saturday
Spencer Hawes (knee) is listed as doubtful for Saturday's game against the Bucks.

Advice: X-Rays were negative but the Clippers are likely going to be caution with him until he is close to 100 percent. Glen Davis and Hedo Turkoglu will both see extra minutes if Hawes sits, but not enough to matter in most leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Jameer Nelson (shoulder) is a game-time call
Jameer Nelson (shoulder) will be a game-time decision for Saturdays' game vs. the Warriors.

Advice: Coach Rick Carlisle said he was more optimistic about Nelson playing than he was about Chandler Parsons (back), so it will be interesting to see if he will give it a go. Nelson isn't a reliable option due to Dallas' crowded backcourt, but Devin Harris would be worth a plug-and-play if Nelson sits while J.J. Barea will also get more minutes. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com
      Saturday, 9:31 am
    • Francisco Garcia (ankle) is out on Saturday
Francisco Garcia (ankle) will not play in Saturday's game vs. the Nuggets.

Advice: He is still not practicing and it is looking like this won't be the last game he misses due to his ankle. Even if he was healthy, he doesn't have a large enough role to warrant consideration in most leagues. Leave him on the wire. Rotoworld.com
      Saturday, 8:03 am
    • Jameer Nelson (shoulder) questionable for Sat
Jameer Nelson (shoulder) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Warriors.

Advice: He has already missed Wednesday's game, and it wouldn't be a bad idea for Dallas to rest the veteran until he gets healthy. Nelson has battled a variety of ailments this season, and he has really struggled with the first unit this season. If he sits, expect Devin Harris to draw the start while J.J. Barea would also get more run. Harris is worth a look for short-term value or as a daily plug-and-play. Rotoworld.com
      Saturday, 6:59 am
    • Chalmers quiet on 1-of-7 shooting night
Mario Chalmers hit just 1-of-7 shots (including a three) for four points, three rebounds and three assists in 24 minutes off the bench on Friday.

Advice: We know how Dwyane Wade essentially ruins things for Chalmers, but he has been worth owning on the whole this year and his upside when Wade goes out is worth the roster slot. At least for now. Rotoworld.com
      Saturday, 12:31 am
    • Westbrook still on a tear with 34-6-6
Russell Westbrook continued his tear with 34 points on 12-of-19 shooting (2-of-3 3PTs, 8-of-9 FTs), six rebounds, six assists and two steals in Friday's win over the Wolves.

Advice: Westbrook has yet to have a game this season in which he hasn't put up 20 points, five boards and five assists. Our only concern is that he continues to jam like a madman with his still-recovering right hand and nobody in Oklahoma City has the fortitude to demand he stop for a few weeks. He's the No. 7 and 16 play in 8- and 9-cat leagues on a per-game basis, respectively. Rotoworld.com
      Friday, 10:32 pm
    • Deron Williams misses all eight from field
Deron Williams missed all eight shots from the field during an 88-70 win over the 76ers on Friday, making three shots from the line with four rebounds, 10 assists, three steals and two turnovers.

Advice: He's in a bad slump over his last three, making just 8-of-37 (21.6 percent) from the field. Williams was having a successful offensive season before this dud and he should be better his next time out. There will be some trade rumors surrounding him until the deadline, but he should have decent value as long as he's healthy. Rotoworld.com
      Friday, 9:56 pm
    • Watson posts solid line in start at the point
C.J. Watson started at point guard in Friday's loss, scoring 13 points on 5-of-14 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds, four assists and one steal in 30 minutes.

Advice: Watson has been knocking off the rust for the most part since returning to action but this is a nice look for him. He's worth a hard look for a chance at solid late-round value while George Hill is out. Rotoworld.com

    • Rose scores season-high 31 points in win
Derrick Rose scored a season-high 31 points on 14-of-24 shooting with three rebounds, five assists and one steal in the Bulls' 115-106 win over the Blazers on Friday.

Advice: Rose has been a mess this season and averaging just 0.6 combined steals and blocks on the year he's returning just top 90-150 value (8/9 cat) in standard leagues. On a deep team, he's not getting the volume necessary to float his poor peripherals, and if you want to get out from under his risk this is probably a good time. As an aside, he'll probably lift those valuations a bit as long as he stays relatively healthy. Rotoworld.com

    • X-rays negative on Spencer Hawes
X-rays were negative on Spencer Hawes' left leg and he will be re-evaluated on Saturday.

Advice: He twisted his knee badly and the Clippers are likely going to give him an MRI. Hawes was ruled out quickly and is likely going to miss time. Glen Davis and Hedo Turkoglu will get more run, but are not options in most leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Batum still can't find the range in Chicago
Nicolas Batum continued to shoot poorly in Friday's loss to the Bulls, hitting 3-of-12 shots (including a three) with five rebounds, five assists and no defensive stats.

Advice: Batum is shooting just 36.6 percent on the season and that's simply not going to be the case all year. He's a prime buy low candidate and things will start to look nice when he cleans up that crooked number. Rotoworld.com
      Friday, 7:10 pm
    • Spencer Hawes (bruised knee) out for game
Spencer Hawes suffered a bruised left knee on Friday and will not return.

Advice: The severity is not yet known and he is getting X-rays. Hawes was playing well in his 17.5 minutes per game on the season and now the Clippers will likely lean on Glen Davis a bit more. Matt Barnes could get minutes at stretch four on occasion. Hawes finished with one point and one block in six minutes. Rotoworld.com

    • Rubio (ankle) making progress in recovery
Ricky Rubio (ankle) has progressed to running on an anti-gravity treadmill, but he's still not expected to be back until January.

Advice: It's nice to know that Rubio is making progress, and he should still be owned in most leagues for his ability to light up the assist category. However, owners will need to be patient, as he'll likely be eased back into the rotation upon his return. Rotoworld.com

    • C.J. Watson will start on Friday vs. Toronto
C.J. Watson will enter the starting lineup on Friday, with Rodney Stuckey shifting over to SG, and Solomon Hill headed to the bench.

Advice: Watson will be tasked with running the Pacers' offense, but he's a risky play in daily leagues due to his hit-or-miss nature. Stuckey could benefit by moving to his natural position of shooting guard, and he has a decent matchup vs. the Raptors tonight. Watson is worth a speculative add in deeper leagues, as George Hill is still not close to making a return. Rotoworld.com
      Friday, 3:08 pm
    • Francisco Garcia (ankle) still out for ROX
Francisco Garcia (ankle) will not play against the Nuggets on Saturday.

Advice: He is not practicing yet and looks like he'll miss more games. Garcia is not worth owning in almost any league now that the Rockets are getting some players back. Rotoworld.com
      Friday, 11:18 am
    • Johnny O'Bryant does more work at practice
Johnny O'Bryant (knee) did some more work at practice on Friday.

Advice: He doesn't have a timetable to return and is up in the air for Saturday. The Bucks need a big man behind Larry Sanders and Zaza Pachulia, so O'Bryant has an outside shot at playing time. Of course, he's not worth owning in any league. Rotoworld.com
      Friday, 11:13 am
    • Jameer Nelson (shoudler) is questionable
Jameer Nelson (shoulder) is questionable to face the Warriors on Saturday.

Advice: He did not play on Wednesday and he certainly has a chance to miss this one. Devin Harris stepped up off the bench and is worth a look for short-term value. Nelson is not worth owning in most leagues right now. Rotoworld.com

    • What back injury? James Harden scores 44
James Harden put the Rockets on his back during a 113-109 overtime win against the Kings on Thursday, scoring a season-high 44 points with four rebounds, eight assists, three steals, one block and three 3-pointers.

Advice: He made 14-of-32 from the field and 13-of-15 from the line and had the ball in his hands throughout the night in 48 minutes. Harden is leading the NBA in scoring at 26.4 points per game while also posting averages of 6.2 boards, 6.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.3 triples. He's a stat factory and his shooting percentage is starting to come around, too. Rotoworld.com
      Thursday, 11:16 pm
    • Jason Thompson double-doubles vs. HOU
Jason Thompson grabbed a season-high 15 rebounds against the Rockets on Thursday with 13 points, one assist and one steal.

Advice: He's had at least eight boards in his each of his last five, averaging 11.0 points, 10.2 boards, 0.4 steals and 0.2 blocks on 48.6 percent from the field in 33.8 minutes in that stretch. Thompson isn't going to be great in standard leagues because of his lack of defense, but owners in points leagues can give him a look until DeMarcus Cousins comes back. Rotoworld.com
      Thursday, 10:51 pm
    • Russell Westbrook scores 26 points in win
Russell Westbrook was everywhere against the Cavs on Thursday with 26 points, seven rebounds, eight assists and one steal in 36 minutes.

Advice: He is co-existing just fine with Kevin Durant and is still posting a usage rate of 35.9 in his last five games since Durant debuted, which is only a shade below where he was before. Westbrook is the only player to have a usage rate greater than 30 and an assist percentage over 40 -- he's at 37.3 and 44.6, respectively. No player in the NBA is the offensive weapon that Westbrook is and he'll have elite fantasy value as long as he's healthy. Rotoworld.com
      Thursday, 8:22 pm
    • Francisco Garcia still not ready to play
Francisco Garcia (ankle) will not play against the Kings on Thursday.

Advice: He has been out since Dec. 6 and could miss additional time. Garcia has been hurt a lot in his career, so the Rockets are not going to rush him back. He is not worth owning in almost any league. Rotoworld.com
      Thursday, 6:39 pm
    • Johnny O'Bryant (knee) returns to practice
Johnny O'Bryant (knee) returned to practice on Thursday, and is nearing a return.

Advice: O'Bryant isn't likely to be a key rotation player for the Bucks, and he can be left on the wire in all leagues. Rotoworld.com
      Thursday, 1:11 pm
    • George Hill (knee) participates in practice
George Hill (knee, quad) was able to participate in his first semi-contact practice on Thursday, but remains without an official return date.

Advice: Hill has not been able to go through a full practice yet, but this is an encouraging sign. He's going to step into a big role upon his eventual return to the lineup, but until then C.J. Watson and Rodney Stuckey will help fill the void. Given Hill's upside, he qualifies as a stash candidate, but owners will need to be patient, as he'll likely be eased back into things. Rotoworld.com

    • Jordan Hill wants to attempt more treys
Jordan Hill is trying to expand on his range and wants to attempt more three-pointers.

Advice: Hill has only attempted 11 three-pointers in his six-year NBA career, but he's not letting that hurt his confidence. "If I took 100 3s right now, I would say I could make close to 50," Hill said. "Probably 40." Hill's targeted percentages would put him among the league leaders, but his fantasy owners will have to settle for his relatively inconsistent rebounding numbers until he decides to unleash his inner Kyle Korver. • Derrick Rose says he's finally feeling great
Derrick Rose said he's feeling great both mentally and physically after Wednesday's win over the Nets.

Advice: That might be the best news Rose's fans and fantasy owners have heard in two years. "I just feel great. My body is healthy. My mind is good. My spirit is good," Rose said. "Just trying to keep it going and know that when I have bad games like last game, they're going to happen." Rose has the potential to be a top fantasy player, but his owners may want to investigate selling high now that he's coming off a strong performance after playing eight consecutive games. • Mo Speights plays well sans Andrew Bogut
Mo Speights came off the bench for 15 points, eight rebounds and a block in 20 minutes on Wednesday.

Advice: Festus Ezeli started at center and had seven points and three rebounds, but any time Andrew Bogut (knee) is out, Speights is the guy you'll want to plug-and-play. Rotoworld.com

    • James Harden scores 34 in loss to Dubs
James Harden played through a back injury and had 34 points, eight rebounds, four assists, four steals and three 3-pointers on 14-of-27 shooting, but the Rockets fell to the Warriors.

Advice: He outshined Stephen Curry (20-7-7) and Klay Thompson (21-4-4) tonight, but the Warriors got the last laugh with their 14th straight game and now sit at a ridiculous 19-2 on the season. The Rockets were 7-1 over their last eight games and were in this game until the end, but weren't able to win it in the end. Rotoworld.com

    • Omer Asik racks up 15 more rebounds in loss
Omer Asik scored just six points on 2-of-6 shooting, but also had 15 rebounds in 26 minutes on Wednesday.

Advice: Asik has hit double digits in boards in six straight games and is averaging 9.8 points and 13.0 rebounds over his last five. He hasn't been blocking many shots, and maybe he never will, but he's playing well again for the Pelicans. Rotoworld.com
      Wednesday, 9:45 pm
    • Nicolas Batum fills stat sheet on off night
Nicolas Batum hit just 1-of-6 shots (a 3-pointer) for five points, but still finished with three rebounds, six assists, two steals and four blocks.

Advice: If there such a thing as a good-bad game, this is it. Batum isn't scoring as much as his owners would like to see, but he's doing enough in every other category to still provide excellent fantasy value. Rotoworld.com
      Wednesday, 9:08 pm
    • Derrick Rose scores 23 in easy win for Bulls
Derrick Rose hit 8-of-15 shots for 23 points, four rebounds, four assists and three 3-pointers in Wednesday's win over the Nets.

Advice: Rose hit just 2-of-11 shots for nine points in his previous game on Saturday, but has been playing well outside of that one. He's played in eight straight games and with a day off before Friday's game against the Blazers, he's looking to make it nine straight. If he can somehow stay healthy the rest of the way, the early headaches will have been worth it. However, selling him off before the next string of missed games happens is probably the smart plan of action. Rotoworld.com

    • C.J. Watson goes for 8 & 7 in 28 minutes
C.J. Watson hit just 1-of-7 shots for eight points, seven assists and two steals in 28 minutes on Wednesday.

Advice: He came off the bench, but given how poorly some of the Pacer starters have played lately, it's not out of the question that CJW is starting soon. He'll take a hit once George Hill is back, and has been pretty inconsistent thus far, but after the Pacer starters were benched tonight, things could be changing in Indy. Rotoworld.com

    • Jameer Nelson (shoulder) will not play vs. NO
Jameer Nelson will not play against the Pelicans on Wednesday due to a right shoulder injury.

Advice: The injuries are really piling up for Jameer and the severity is not yet known. Nelson could miss more time and wasn't great to begin for his patient fantasy owners, so there's little incentive to keep him despite a big game on Tuesday. Devin Harris is worth a look tonight. Rotoworld.com
      Wednesday, 4:18 pm
    • Francisco Garcia ruled out for Wednesday
Francisco Garcia (ankle) will not play on Wednesday.

Advice: He was questionable earlier today, but shootaround must not have went well. Garcia would have picked up some playing time because of all the injuries, but he could miss Thursday as well. Rotoworld.com
      Wednesday, 12:11 pm
    • Rockets: James Harden (back) will play vs GSW
James Harden (back) will play against the Warriors on Wednesday.

Advice: This report comes from the team and Harden has said he's playing tonight, as well. The Rockets play the late game, so it couldn't hurt to check back later tonight to make sure everything is still good to go. Harden is going to be extremely busy tonight. Rotoworld.com
      Wednesday, 12:07 pm
    • James Harden goes through shootaround
James Harden (back) went through shootaround on Wednesday and is likely a game-time decision against the Warriors.

Advice: He did add that he thinks he is good to go. Harden played through his back spasms on Saturday, so the few days off look to have helped him. He could still miss this game with the late start time, so his owners will have to check back. If he's out, it'll be a collective effort from Patrick Beverley, Jason Terry and maybe even Nick Johnson helping out at the guard spots. Again, it sounds like he will play. Rotoworld.com
      Wednesday, 11:34 am
    • Francisco Garcia (ankle) questionable on Wed
Francisco Garcia (ankle) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Warriors

Advice: The Rockets are severely depleted, and could use all the bodies that they can muster against the talented Warriors. Garcia could emerge as a deep league asset over the short-term due to increased opportunity, but owners in standard leagues can do better. if he sits this one out, expect Trevor Ariza to play big minutes down the stretch. • Jerryd Bayless solid in 20 minutes vs. OKC
Bucks guard Jerryd Bayless played one of his most complete games of the season on Tuesday, scoring 11 points with six assists and two steals in just 20 minutes of action.

Advice: He's had a few solid games this year, including last Friday's 12-point, five-assist, two-steal performance, but his limited 3-point range and sporadic production spoil any fantasy value. Jared Dudley chipped in eight points on Tuesday while reserves Khris Middleton and Zaza Pachulia each scored seven, and the Bucks continue to have one of the league's most productive benches. • Russell Westbrook leads Thunder w/ 28 points
Russell Westbrook had 28 points, five rebounds, seven dimes and three steals in 32 minutes during Tuesday's win vs. the visiting Bucks.

Advice: He led the Thunder in shot attempts and has now recorded at least 21 points, five rebounds and seven assists in each of his five games this season. It's not surprising that he easily leads all NBA guards with 63 games of at least 25-5-5 over the past seven seasons. Rotoworld.com

    • Omer Asik double-doubles w/ 16 pts, 14 boards
Omer Asik notched 16 points and 14 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season on Tuesday, helping New Orleans in a win vs. the visiting Knicks.

Advice: Asik made 7-of-10 FGs and 2-of-4 FTs, and it was nice to see him blocking shots after going three games without a single swat. He's among the league's best sources of rebounds but remains a marginal fantasy option in most leagues thanks to damaging averages in points (8.4), FT percentage (59.1 percent), steals (0.3) and blocks (0.7). • Report: Brooklyn shopping their star players
The Nets have made Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, and Brook Lopez available via trade, according to sources of ESPN.

Advice: The Nets currently roster the most expensive team in the league, but also boast a losing record of 8-11, so it's not exactly shocking that Brooklyn management is looking to unload some of their less than desirable contracts. However, with all these guys under performing relative to their contract, there probably aren’t many teams eager to add one of these names to their roster. Without knowing what pieces would be coming in, it's too difficult to do any analysis on potential outcomes, so this is just something worth noting for now. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • James Harden (back) questionable Wednesday
James Harden (back spasms) is questionable to play vs. the Warriors on Wednesday.

Advice: If Harden is unable to go, Jason Terry could slide back into the starting lineup, and he'd make for a solid option in daily and standard leagues. Terry is averaging 16.5 points, 4.5 assists, 3.8 rebounds, 1.8 steals, and 3.3 three-pointers per game with the starting unit this year. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • Thompson just misses double-double
Jason Thompson just missed a double-double with 10 points, nine rebounds and three assists over 36 minutes in Monday's win over the Jazz.

Advice: Thompson did not record a steal or block and he's going to be raw in the fantasy sense even if he gets a boatload of minutes. With DeMarcus Cousins looking at weeks and maybe even months before he returns at full speed, there is a big window to plod his way into standard league value. Rotoworld.com

Marreese Speights scored 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting with seven rebounds, one steal and one block in 21 minutes off the bench on Monday against the Wolves.

Advice: If you've been riding Speights this keeps him on your good side before David Lee eventually returns to dent his value. Rotoworld.com
