      Advice: While he wasn’t Rick Carlisle’s choice to replace the injured Tyrese Haliburton (hamstring) in the starting lineup, McConnell was still in a position where he needed to step up. The veteran point guard came through, recording his first 20-point game since Game 6 of the Pacers’ first-round series against Milwaukee. The workload was also notable from Game 3, as the 29 minutes are the most T.J. has played in a game this postseason.       Advice: Neither White nor Jrue Holiday (illness) shot the ball well in Game 3, but both came up big on the defensive end of the floor. While the latter was responsible for three steals, including one in the final seconds, the former racked up four blocked shots. White has accumulated six blocked shots and three steals for the series, more than making up for the inconsistent shooting. As for Holiday, he supplemented his three steals with 14 points, nine rebounds, three assists, one block, and one 3-pointer in 38 minutes. Boston will look to close out the series on Monday night.       According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Tyrese Haliburton will miss Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals due to left hamstring soreness.

      Advice: Haliburton missed 10 games in the regular season due to a left hamstring injury, and he sustained that same injury in the third quarter of Game 2 on Thursday. Down 0-2 to Boston, Haliburton’s absence is a massive blow to Indiana’s hopes of coming back in the series. T.J. McConnell is a likely candidate to replace him in the starting five.       Advice: Though Haliburton tallied 10 points (4-8 FG, 2-6 3Pt), eight assists, four rebounds and one steal in 28 minutes before leaving the game for good with 3:44 remaining in the third quarter, he appeared to have picked up the injury earlier in the contest. He fell hard to the floor in the first half and was spotted in the medical imaging room at TD Garden during halftime to get evaluated for a chest injury, but Carlisle relayed after the game that Haliburton was also getting his hamstring worked on. Haliburton was playing in pain in the third quarter before checking out of the game for good with an injury that the Pacers officially labeled as left leg soreness before Carlisle provided more clarity afterward. The All-Star guard previously missed 10 games in January due to a strain of the same hamstring, so he could struggle to gain clearance ahead of Saturday's Game 3 in Indiana. White was phenomenal against Miami, but he struggled for most of the Cleveland series and in Game 1 against the Pacers. However, if this second half performance can spark something for him, they shouldn’t have any issues advancing to the NBA Finals.
