    • Donovan Mitchell dominates, finishes with 29 PTS
Donovan Mitchell tallied 29 points (10-of-19 FGs, 4-of-6 FTs), seven rebounds, eight assists, and five 3-pointers in 39 minutes in Thursday’s Game 2 win over the Celtics.

Advice: Cleveland earned a split of Games 1 and 2, with a common theme for both games being Boston’s inability to slow down Mitchell. After dropping in 33 points in Game 1, Spida scored 29 in Game 2 before both coaches decided to clear their benches with a little over four minutes remaining. Also, Mitchell was more efficient as a scorer and playmaker on Thursday, with the eight assists countered by just one turnover. Mitchell will get his in this series; Cleveland’s chances of winning depend on the “others” stepping up. They did in Game 2 and will need to do the same in Game 3 on Saturday. • Puts up 33 points in Game 1 loss
Mitchell produced 33 points (12-25 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 5-5 FT), six rebounds, five assists and one steal across 37 minutes during Tuesday's 120-95 loss to the Celtics in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Advice: Mitchell carried the momentum he had from his epic Game 7 performance against the Magic on Sunday and surpassed the 30-point mark for the third straight game. However, the rest of his teammates didn't step up, and the Cavaliers suffered a devastating 25-point loss in the series opener. Mitchell should continue to post excellent numbers as the Cavaliers' go-to player on offense -- by a wide margin -- but there's a chance his mighty performances might not translate into wins as happened against the Magic in the previous round. • Struggles in return
Hardaway (ankle) posted two points (1-5 FG, 0-4 3Pt) and two rebounds over 17 minutes during Tuesday's 117-95 loss to Oklahoma City in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals.

Advice: Hardaway returned to action following a four-game absence due to an ankle injury. While he provides Dallas with another scoring option off the bench, Hardaway struggled to get going Tuesday and was deprioritized. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:30 pm
    • Donovan Mitchell scores 33 points in blowout loss
Donovan Mitchell led the Cavaliers with 33 points (12-of-25 FGs), six rebounds, five assists, one steal and four triples in a 120-95 loss to the Celtics in Game 1 on Tuesday.

Advice: This was Mitchell’s third straight game with at least 30 points, but it didn’t end up mattering in the end. Mitchell did most of his scoring in the first quarter (14) and third quarter (16), but he didn’t add much in the second and fourth quarter, which lined up with Cleveland’s offensive struggles. Mitchell was able to provide plenty of offense, but he’ll need help if the Cavaliers want to pull off the upset in this series. If things continue to go this poorly, trade rumors will heat up quickly after their season ends. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:30 pm
    • Tim Hardaway Jr. (ankle) available Tuesday
Tim Hardaway Jr. is available for Tuesday’s Game 1 against the Thunder.

Advice: THJ sat out Games 3-6 of Dallas’ first-round series against the Clippers, but he’ll be good to go for Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals. He averaged 14.4 points and 2.7 triples in the regular season, so his return will be a welcomed sight to Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving thanks to his scoring and floor spacing. • Available for Game 1
Hardaway (ankle) will be available for Game 1 against the Thunder on Monday, Grant Afseth of SI.com reports.

Advice: This was the expectation when Hardaway made it through practices on Sunday and Monday. While this is great news for Dallas, it will be interesting to see how many minutes he's allotted because he's been struggling mightily with his shot. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:38 am
    • Goes through practice
Hardaway (ankle) was spotted going through another practice Monday, Mike Curtis of The Detroit News reports.

Advice: Hardaway also practiced on Sunday and continues to trend in the right direction. There should be additional clarity on his status for Game 1 against the Thunder on Tuesday when the Mavericks release their official injury report Monday evening. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:21 am
    • Franz Wagner endures brutal Game 7 performance
Franz Wagner shot 1-of-13 from the field and 4-of-4 from the foul line in Sunday’s 106-94 loss to the Cavaliers, scoring six points with six rebounds, six assists, one steal, and one blocked shot in 34 minutes.

Advice: Playing in the biggest game of his brief NBA career, as were many of his Magic teammates, Wagner struggled mightily on Sunday afternoon. He could not make anything happen offensively, missing all five of his 3-point attempts while shooting 1-of-8 from two. Cleveland’s Isaac Okoro certainly deserves some credit for that, but this performance was a severe departure from the norm for Wagner. Based on the Yahoo ADP (66.6), 2023-24 went as expected for Franz, who finished the regular season as a 6th-round player in 8- and 9-cat formats. Sunday wasn’t a good way for him to go out, but Wagner will be one of Orlando’s solid building blocks moving forward. He’s eligible for a contract extension this offseason; it would be surprising if the front office did not make that happen. Rotoworld May 5, 1:34 pm
    • Practices Sunday
Coach Jason Kidd said Hardaway (ankle) returned to practice Sunday, Grant Afseth of SI.com reports.

Advice: Hardaway sprained his right ankle during Game 2 of the opening-round series against the Clippers and missed the final four contests. His return to practice is an encouraging sign, but Hardaway's official status for Tuesday's Game 1 against the Thunder likely won't be known until Monday afternoon. Hardaway was one of the best sixth men in the NBA for much of the regular season, but his production tailed off later in the year, so it's difficult to assess exactly what his night-to-night role will be once he's cleared to return. Over his last 20 games, Hardaway averaged just 8.7 points on 37.8 percent shooting (33.0% 3Pt). Rotowire.com May 5, 11:41 am
