  • Medication is key issue for Chris Bosh?
According to the Miami Herald, it's still being discussed whether or not Chris Bosh should be taken off blood thinners.

Advice: If Bosh comes off blood thinners this summer then he should be able to play, but that's not a guarantee. He has previously tried to convince the Heat to let him try a new medication that would be out of his system in 8-12 hours so that he could he lessen the risks of playing a contact sport while on thinners, but the Heat didn't go for it. Bosh may take this issue to the players union, but some in his camp have reportedly grown suspicious of the Heat’s intentions --Miami could take the rest of his contract off the books if he doesn't make a single appearance next season. It doesn't sound like the two sides are close to a resolution at all. Rotoworld.com Today, 10:20 am
  • Jahlil Okafor trade talks 'have grown stale'
Talks between the Celtics and 76ers regarding a potential Jahlil Okafor trade have grown "stale" according to the Boston Herald.

Advice: Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer recently reported that the Celtics aren't willing to give up much to acquire Okafor, but that's not surprising because Philly doesn't have any leverage in trade talks because of their desire to move a big. The teams could revisit the talks soon, but nothing is imminent by any means. Rotoworld.com Today, 7:16 am
  • Meyers Leonard will be re-evaluated Aug. 1
Meyers Leonard (shoulder surgery) said he will be re-evaluated on August 1.

Advice: He recently said that he's hoping to be ready in time for the start of the season, but his timetable will likely be updated after his checkup. Leoard did admit that he will be cautious with his return, which makes sense because he just signed a four-year, $41 million deal. Unfortunately for Leonard, minutes won't be easy to find in Portland's frontcourt next season, especially if they re-sign Moe Harkless as well. Rotoworld.com Today, 6:35 am
  • Tiago Splitter (hip surgery) is progressing
Tiago Splitter (hip surgery) is now able to sprint at full speed.

Advice: He posted a video of himself sprinting and doing agility drills on his Instagram account this week. He was given an eight-month timetable after undergoing surgery in February, so there's a chance he could be ready around the start of the 2016-17 season. Splitter won't have much fantasy value as the backup center behind Dwight Howard. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:36 am
  • Meyers Leonard targeting start of season
Meyers Leonard (shoulder surgery) said that he's hoping to be ready around the start of the 2016-17 season.

Advice: "It's a progression, first introducing rebounding, grabbing stuff overhead, then one-on-one, three-on-three, extending to the full court," Leonard said. "We'll see. You just never know." The Blazers won't be in a hurry to rush him back after re-signing him to a four-year deal worth $41 million, and most players tend to be a little too optimistic about timetables anyways. If the Blazers re-sign Moe Harkless, Leonard's outlook for the 2016-17 campaign won't be great with Al-Farouq Aminu expected to play more power forward. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:31 am
  • PHX, IND and ATL linked to Thomas Robinson
The Suns, Pacers and Hawks are interested in free agent forward Thomas Robinson according to Amico Hoops.

Advice: We haven't heard much about Robinson this offseason, so his market value is probably pretty low. He did have a nice finish to the 2015-16 season with averages of 14.6 points and 12.3 rebounds in seven starts, but he shot just 44.7 percent from the field and 43.1 percent from the line on the season. • Celtics, Tyler Zeller agree to 2-year deal
Tyler Zeller has agreed to a two-year, $16 million deal with the Celtics.

Advice: The second year of the deal is a team option, so the Celtics will still keep their financial flexibility for the 2017 offseason. Zeller was solid in limited minutes last season, averaging 6.1 points, 3.0 boards and 0.4 blocks in 11.8 minutes per game. He won't have much fantasy value with Amir Johnson and Al Horford around. • DeMarcus Cousins drops 14 and 15
DeMarcus Cousins scored 14 points with 15 rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block against Argentina on Friday.

Advice: He looked awesome, especially under the boards. Cousins has been doing more yoga, which he announced after his "give me strength" tweet on NBA Draft night. The Kings are not looking to deal Cousins now and are hoping coach Dave Joerger will be the Boogie Whisperer. Rotoworld.com Friday, 8:25 pm
  • Dirk Nowitzki gets a pay raise
Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavs have finalized their new contract to $50 million over two years.

Advice: He was originally expected to get $40 million over two years, so the Mavs are rewarding him now that they have some cap space after some swings and misses in free agency. Nowitzki just turned 38 last month, but he played 31.5 minutes per game over 75 outings last year. While he has played at least 75 games in each of his last three seasons, it would be a surprise to see him repeat this feat next year. Rotoworld.com Friday, 11:35 am
  • Crowder says Al Horford is the 'perfect fit'
Jae Crowder said that Al Horford will be a "perfect fit" in Boston.

Advice: "We play through our bigs, and a lot of teams don't play through their bigs — they post them up and give them the ball," Crowder said. "Our bigs, like he did in Atlanta, he makes the play. We were explaining our basketball terminology to him, and how ours will fit right in with [his] game. It's going to mesh. Most guys have to blend in and fit in, but it's going to be automatically just there." Danny Ainge said that Horford will play both the four and five next season, so he should be able to return top-20 value in standard leagues once again. Rotoworld.com Friday, 8:39 am
  • Jordan Hill signs with the Wolves
Jordan Hill has officially signed with the Wolves.

Advice: It's a two-year, $8 million deal, but Eric Pincus of Basketball Insiders is reporting that the second year isn't guaranteed. The Wolves also signed Cole Aldrich this summer, so there won't be much playing time available behind Gorgui Dieng and Karl-Anthony Towns. Rotoworld.com Friday, 8:04 am
  • Report: Celtics won't give up much for Okafor
According to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Celtics won't give up much for Jahlil Okafor.

Advice: Okafor is coming off knee surgery and had several off-court issues during his rookie season, and the 76ers won't have much leverage in trade talks because everyone knows that they need to move a big. It sounds like the talks are still ongoing, and if Okafor does find a new home then that will certainly benefit the fantasy outlook of Nerlens Noel, Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. Rotoworld.com Friday, 6:35 am
  • Chris Andersen signs with the Cavs
Chris Andersen has officially signed with the Cavaliers.

Advice: He turned 38 years old on July 7, so this could be his last shot at another title. The Cavs could use some depth up front with Timofey Mozgov moving on to the Lakers, but Andersen can only play minutes in the teens at best. Rotoworld.com Friday, 6:16 am
  • Jusuf Nurkic will suit up for National Team
Jusuf Nurkic will suit up for Bosnia and Herzegovina during the FIBA qualifying tournament.

Advice: Nurkic will be competing for his national team in just a few weeks, and the games will go through September, so Nurkic's offseason has effectively ended. The fact that Nurkic will be participating in this tournament suggests he's completely recovered from the knee surgery that sidelined him for much of the 2015-16 season, so he should come into camp in great shape. He'll be a high-upside guy to take towards the middle rounds on draft day. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 3:37 pm
  • Report: Knicks interested in Greg Monroe
The Knicks are reportedly interested in trading for Greg Monroe.

Advice: The Bucks has made it painfully clear that Monroe is available, and the Knicks seem like a realistic landing spot given that they were one of his primary suitors when he was a free agent. Sam Amico reports that the Knicks would likely need to get a third team involved in order to strike a deal, and that if a trade were to go down, it likely wouldn't happen until December. • Willie Reed working to improve his offense
Willie Reed said that he will spend time this summer honing his skills on the offensive end.

Advice: "Obviously my defense is ahead of my offense at this point," said Reed. "So I’ve been working extremely hard to make sure I get better on the offensive end." Reed could be looking at some increased opportunity next season if Chris Bosh (blood clots) is forced into an early retirement, but if Bosh and Hassan Whiteside are healthy, Reed will be an irrelevant name in fantasy hoops. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 12:17 pm
  • DeMarcus Cousins dropping weight with yoga
DeMarcus Cousins has lost weight by following a strict yoga routine this summer.

Advice: Cousins has spent the offseason dedicating himself to yoga, pilates, and weights in heated rooms as part of his training regime and has reportedly lost 20 pounds. "I feel great," Cousins said. "It’s just that feeling of your body detoxing every workout, so that’s one thing. I feel a lot lighter on my feet. Of course I’ve slimmed down. I’m a lot more flexible, a lot more mobile, so it’s all coming together for me." Cousins will again enter the season as the Kings go-to scorer and is poised for a big fantasy season if he's able to stay on the court. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 6:43 am
  • Report: BOS-PHI talking Jahlil Okafor trade
Jahlil Okafor is reportedly the "most likely" Philadelphia big to be traded to Boston, should a trade go down.

Advice: The 76ers and Celtics have been in trade talks since draft night, and while Boston was initially higher on Nerlens Noel, their interest in Noel has dissipated after they picked up their team option on Amir Johnson. Boston management reportedly believes that Okafor could pair well with Al Horford, although they are concerned about Okafor's well documented off-court antics. Okafor's value wouldn't necessarily improve playing in Boston's loaded frontcourt, but sending Okafor away would open up minutes for Noel, Joel Embiid, and Ben Simmons. • Coach K says Cousins in 'unbelievable shape'
Coach Mike Krzyzewski said that DeMarcus Cousins has gotten himself in "unbelievable shape" for Team USA.

Advice: This is the third report we've had this offseason of Cousins' newly sculpted body, so it's clear that he's taking this offseason very seriously. Perhaps the weight loss will help him stay on the court, as foot issues limited Cousins to just 65 games last season. Cousins has a new coach in Dave Joerger, who is a big fan and has already said that DMC will be the team's go-to guy on offense, but the awkwardly constructed roster in Sacramento will likely lead to another playoff-less postseason. • Ognjen Kuzmic returning to Europe
Ognjen Kuzmic has agreed to terms with KK Crvena Zvezda of Serbia.

Advice: The big man spent the past year overseas, but he tried to work his way back into the NBA via summer league. The 26 year olds days of playing in the NBA may be numbered, but hey, at least he owns a championship ring. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 6:42 am
  • Greg Monroe reportedly on the trade block
Greg Monroe is available via trade, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.

Advice: Stein reports that Monroe is available now that the Bucks have re-signed Miles Plumlee, so it wouldn't be a huge surprise to see the big man on the move. Monroe's fantasy upside is a tad limited, but a change in scenery would likely provide a nice boost to his fantasy value. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 9:05 am
  • DeMarcus Cousins didn't understand the draft?
DeMarcus Cousins said he didn't "really understand what's going on" with the Kings getting younger and bigger.

Advice: "I just control what I can control," Cousins added. Boogie has been under a microscope since he tweeted out "Lord give me strength" on the night of the draft, and later said it was about his hot sculpting class. Cousins is quite the character. Rotoworld.com Jul 18, 4:40 pm
  • Jahlil Okafor (knee) limited w/ Select Team
Jahlil Okafor (knee) will be limited to non-contact drills with the U.S. Men's Select Team in Las Vegas.

Advice: Okafor will train with the Olympic team from July 18-21 but the Sixers feel that he's "simply not in the kind of basketball condition required to compete at this level," according to team president Bryan Colangelo. His surgically-repaired knee has healed and he's expected to be ready for training camp, though his fantasy outlook is clouded by trade rumors and uncertainty about the Sixers' frontcourt rotation. • Pat Riley provides no update on Chris Bosh
Pat Riley did not provide any updates on Chris Bosh's (blood clots) situation during Saturday's press conference.

Advice: "I know Chris wants to play, and we would be open to that," said Riley. "But this is still fluid. There's not an answer." Basically, if Bosh is on a blood thinning medication to prevent blood clots, he's not going to play NBA basketball. For what it's worth, the Heat, Bosh and his doctors are talking "constantly," and Riley said they've even discussed the possibility of Bosh only playing in "some games," but they won't have an official decision on Bosh’ status for the 2016-17 season until August or September. Rotoworld.com Jul 16, 10:23 am
  • Cavs pick up Chris Andersen
The Cavs agreed to a deal with Chris Andersen for the veteran minimum.

Advice: The Cavs have lost some of their depth up front, so Andersen might get some minutes in some spots. Birdman hasn't been very durable and just turned 38 this month, so he's not going to be a difference maker for the Cavs. Rotoworld.com Jul 15, 4:02 pm
