  • Cory Joseph (ankle) upgraded to probable Fri.
Cory Joseph (ankle) has been upgraded to probable for Friday's game vs. the Kings.

Advice: Joseph is averaging a meager 7.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists this season, so whether he plays or not should be of no concern to owners in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

  • JaVale McGee (tibia) out Friday vs. the Suns
JaVale McGee (tibia) has been ruled out for Friday's game vs. the Suns.

Advice: Timofey Mozgov, J.J. Hickson, and Jusuf Nurkic will continue to man the center position in Denver, but Mozgov is the guy to own out of the three. McGee has been a constant disappointment in both reality and fantasy, and he should remain on the waiver wire in most leagues. Rotoworld.com

  • Danilo Gallinari (knee) will play Friday
Danilo Gallinari (knee) said that he is fine, and will play Friday vs. the Suns.

Advice: Danilo only managed to play 8.7 minutes during his last outing, checking out due to soreness in his surgically repaired left knee, but his return to the lineup tonight is an encouraging sign. He's by no means a must-own player in standard leagues, but he was starting to get it going before his injury scare on Wednesday, so if you're in a deeper league and have available roster space, stashing him wouldn't be the worst idea. • Kemba Walker (thigh) expected to play Friday
Kemba Walker (thigh, face) expected to play Friday vs. the Warriors.

Advice: Walker took a knee to the thigh, and an elbow to the face during his last outing, but it didn't cause him to miss any time. Charlotte beat reporter Rick Bonnell is expecting him to play, and he tends to be very accurate on these things. It's safe to assume that Walker will give it a go, so go ahead and get him in your active lineups. Rotoworld.com

  • P.J. Hairston (thumb) likely to play Friday
P.J. Hairston (thumb) is expected to play Friday vs. the Warriors.

Advice: Hairston sprained his thumb during his last outing, but plugged-in beat reporter Rick Bonnell is speculating that he will give it a go tonight. He's seen some increased opportunity with Gary Neal (shoulder) and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) both sidelined, but that hasn't translated statistically, and he's not worth using in most leagues. • Thabo Sefolosha (illness) out Friday vs. NO
Thabo Sefolosha (illness) will not play Friday vs. the Pelicans.

Advice: With Sefolosha out, DeMarre Carroll will get all the run he can handle and he has a favorable matchup vs. New Orleans. Carroll logged 38.7 minutes sans Thabo during his last outing, scoring 14 points (two 3-pointers), to go with three rebounds an assist, and a block, and should have similar production tonight. Think about deploying him as a low-budget play in daily leagues. Rotoworld.com

  • Marcus Smart (ankle) doubtful for Sunday
Marcus Smart (ankle) does not think he'll be able to play Sunday vs. the Spurs.

Advice: Smart is getting close to making a return, but it's not looking like Sunday will be the day. He's stuck in a reserve role, playing behind Rajon Rondo and doesn't offer enough statistically to be considered a viable option in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

  • Marvin Williams (shoulder) doubtful Friday
Marvin Williams (shoulder) is being listed as doubtful for Friday's game vs. the Warriors.

Advice: If Marvin sits, Cody Zeller would draw the start at power forward, however he has an unfavorable matchup today against Draymond Green of the Warriors, and on such a busy Friday night owners in standard leagues could probably do better. Rotoworld.com

C.J. Watson is expected to make his season debut on Friday after being out with a foot injury.

  • Report: Jimmy Butler turned down 4-year, $40M
Jimmy Butler reportedly turned down a four-year, $40 million-plus offer from the Bulls after seeing Klay Thompson land a max four-year, $70 million deal with the Warriors.

Advice: Butler said he was "gambling on myself," with regards to his decision to test the market as a restricted free agent this offseason, and he's looking like a guy trying to get paid. Butler has entered the conversation as an elite player in the league, averaging 21.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game (all career-highs) while shooting 50 percent from the field. Butler is currently ranked as the seventh-best player in fantasy hoops, and owners that gambled on him in the middle rounds should be cautious not to pull a muscle while patting themselves on the back. • Steve Kerr praises Stephen Curry's defense
Steve Kerr praised Stephen Curry's play on the defensive end during a recent interview.

Advice: "I've seen really good defense," Kerr said of Curry. "That's the thing that's impressed me the most is Steph's commitment on that end. Offensively, I already knew what he could do just watching the highlights the last couple of years. I think he's become a really well-rounded All-Star. He was already an All-Star, but now I think he's an All-Star at both ends of the floor." The Dubs currently rank third in defensive efficiency vs. the point guard position, and Curry is hitting career-highs in points (24.2), 3-pointers (3.5), steals (2.1), and field goal percentage (49.8). He's currently the second-best player in fantasy hoops, and has joined the conversation as a potential MVP-candidate. Rotoworld.com

  • Jordan Hill having career-season with Lakers
Jordan Hill is having a career-year with the Lakers this year, and he credits his development to Byron Scott giving him minutes.

Advice: "I got the minutes. This is what I've been waiting for," Hill said when discussing what has changed this season. "I knew once I got the minutes I was going to progress and show [the Lakers] what they bought." Hill is currently averaging 13.7 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists this season over 31.3 minutes of action, all career-highs. However, health will always going to be a concern, and coach Scott is playing with fire giving him regular minutes in the 30s, so owners may want to sell-high while the headlines are positive. • Taj Gibson (ankle) out Friday vs. the Celtics
Taj Gibson (ankle) will not play Friday vs. the Celtics.

Advice: With Gibson out, Nikola Mirotic could see some extended minutes off the bench. • Derrick Rose (hamstring) hopeful for Friday

Cory Joseph (ankle) is questionable for Friday's game against the Kings.

Advice: Joseph is only averaging 7.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists this season, so Joseph's status means more to the injury-depleted Spurs than it does to fantasy owners. • Kevin Durant set to return to Thunder on Fri?
Darnell Mayberry of the Oklahoman reports there is a growing belief around the Thunder that Kevin Durant (foot) could return as soon as Friday against the Knicks.

Advice: Mayberry cites the Thunder's decision to release Sebastian Telfair as a reason Durant may be closer to a return and writes that, "The Thunder’s decision to waive Telfair as opposed to apply for a third 10-day stint on Smith serves as confirmation that the team is confident that either Durant, [Russell] Westbrook or rookie forward Mitch McGary will be available at some point over the next three games." The Thunder snapped their six-game losing streak on Wednesday, led by Reggie Jackson's 22 points on 10-of-18 shooting, two 3-pointers, four rebounds, eight assists and one steal.

Advice: He turned the ball over five times, as usual, but at least he made more than half his shots tonight. Backup PG Sebastian Telfair was waived on Wednesday which suggests that Russell Westbrook (hand) might return as soon as Friday's game. Jackson will inevitably lose some minutes and offensive firepower, but he's still a must-own fantasy player even if he shifts to a bench role. Rotoworld.com

Mo Williams (illness) will travel with the Wolves for their upcoming West Coast trip.

  • Stephen Curry lights up Magic in 24 minutes
Stephen Curry followed up Tuesday's season-high 40-point game with 28 points, six 3-pointers, five rebounds and eight assists in just 24 minutes vs. the Magic on Wednesday.

Advice: Curry made 9-of-13 FGs and 4-of-5 FTs with just one turnover in the Warriors' easy road win. He is in the mix for top fantasy honors but Anthony Davis still has an edge on him, especially in 9-cat leagues where Curry's 3.5 turnovers per game take a heavy toll. Rotoworld.com

Hornets rookie P.J. Hairston returned on Wednesday with three points, two rebounds and two turnovers in 21 minutes off the bench, but he sprained his thumb and left the arena with a brace.

Advice: The absence of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) and Gary Neal (shoulder) opened up more opportunities for Hairston and Gerald Henderson, but Hairston isn't worth fantasy attention unless you're desperate for 3-pointers. He's averaging 5.4 points, 1.3 triples, 1.4 rebounds and very little else in 14 minutes per game this season, while shooting 37.8 percent from the field. Marvin Williams was scoreless in 11 minutes of action on Wednesday, starting at PF but finishing with just one rebound and two assists to his credit.

Advice: Cody Zeller had nine points and seven boards off the bench, while playing superior defense vs. LaMarcus Aldridge, and it's fair to question how much longer Williams will keep his starting gig. The Hornets shot 42.6 percent in their previous six games, all losses, and finished tonight's defeat just 41-of-94 from the field (43.6 percent). Something has to give. Rotoworld.com

Kemba Walker shook off a hard collision to finish Wednesday's home loss with 15 points (6-of-19 FGs), one 3-pointer, four rebounds, nine assists and one block.

Advice: He took a knee to the thigh and was also elbowed in the face, but the Hornets' training staff quickly cleared him to return. • Kemba Walker (thigh) available to return
Kemba Walker went down on Wednesday after bruising his thigh and being elbowed in the face, but he is available to return.

Advice: Walker was down for a while and looked a bit 'woozy' as he made his way to the Hornets' bench, but it sounds like he avoided any serious injuries. With Gary Neal (shoulder) already unavailable, Walker's absence would have left Charlotte heavily reliant upon Brian Roberts. Rotoworld.com

  • Derrick Rose (hamstring) rested as precaution
Derrick Rose (hamstring tightness) sat out the second half of Tuesday's game as a precaution, and he "didn't feel anything pop or pull" prior to his exit.

Advice: Tom Thibodeau asked Rose to sit out the second half and Rose agreed. The Bulls' former MVP was very tentative during the first half, as he was during Monday's game, but Thibodeau is hopeful that a few days of rest will have Rose ready to go for Friday's game in Boston. When asked if Rose would require an MRI, Thibs replied, "I don’t believe so. I think he's fine." Fantasy owners have played this game long enough to distrust the Bulls' injury updates, however, and we're unlikely to learn Rose's status until close to tip-off on Friday. Rotoworld.com

  • Jimmy Butler's 32 points not enough vs Denver
Jimmy Butler set a new career high with 20 free throw attempts on Tuesday, making 18 of them to finish with 32 points, nine rebounds, one assist and one steal in a loss to the Nuggets.

Advice: Butler has been unbelievable to begin the season, embracing an expanded offensive role without letting up defensively in nearly 40 minutes per game. He's taken a massive leap into top-10 fantasy value and shows no signs of letting up, though his huge workload may take a toll physically as the season progresses. Congratulations to all those owners who snagged Butler in the middle rounds on draft day. Rotoworld.com

  • Danilo Gallinari scores 15 points on Tuesday
Danilo Gallinari scored 15 points on 5-of-9 FGs and 5-of-5 FTs in Tuesday's game, adding five rebounds, three assists and one block in 29 minutes.

Advice: Gallo's minutes have ramped up over the past week and he's averaging 14.0 points and 1.7 triples in his last three games. Wilson Chandler is playing well as Denver's starting SF and there are no guarantees that Gallinari will overtake him, but he has enough upside to be worth a speculative add -- he has enough upside to return top-100 value in a 30-minute bench role, assuming he stays healthy. • Derrick Rose exits Tuesday w/ tight hamstring
Derrick Rose will not return to Tuesday's game due to left hamstring tightness.

Advice: Rose's left hamstring caused him to miss four games prior to his return on Monday, and he didn't last long before going back on the injury report. The daily guessing game about his status will continue on Friday when the Bulls play in Boston. Considering the Bulls' protective stance regarding their former MVP, and the fact that hamstring injuries are easy to aggravate, we're not optimistic that he'll be in uniform vs. Rajon Rondo and the Celtics. Check back for updates on Tuesday, and anticipate Kirk Hinrich starting at PG if Rose misses more games. Rotoworld.com

  • Steph Curry gets season-high 40 pts, eight 3s
Stephen Curry torched the Heat for a season-high 40 points in Tuesday's road win, making 12-of-19 field goals including a season-high eight 3-pointers.

Advice: This was just Curry's second 20-point performance in the Warriors' past seven games, but his fantasy value hasn't suffered thanks to his ability to fill up the stat sheet. He went 8-of-9 from the FT line and a ridiculous 8-of-11 from downtown, as the Heat simply couldn't defend him once he started feeling it. Reggie Miller wrote on Twitter that Curry may have overtaken Drazen Petrovic as the greatest 3-point shooter Miller has ever seen -- that's lofty praise, but it's hard to argue otherwise. • Derrick Rose (hamstring) starting vs. Nuggets
Derrick Rose (hamstring) will play on Tuesday, as expected.

Advice: He was technically listed as 'probable' and the Bulls have been understandably protective of Rose early in the season, so fantasy owners are wise to check his status before every game. He scored 18 points in a somewhat passive performance on Monday and we can only hope he'll continue to build on that performance without any health-related setbacks. Rotoworld.com

  • Brandon Jennings (thumb) will not play Tues.
Brandon Jennings (thumb) will not suit up for Tuesday's game vs. the Bucks, and D.J. Augustin will draw the start.

Advice: Augustin will draw his first start of the season, and he could make for a nice plug-and-play option in daily leagues. Spencer Dinwiddie will also see some extended minutes off the bench, but Augustin offers the most upside. Owners in standard leagues can use a wait-and-see approach with Augustin, but his value will likely be short-lived as Jennings shouldn't be out very long with a sprained thumb. Rotoworld.com

Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau said that Derrick Rose (hamstring) is not real comfortable right now.

Advice: Rose scored 18 points with five assists, one steal, and three 3-pointers during Monday's win over the Jazz, but will be listed as day-to-day for Tuesday's game against Denver. "I thought he did a lot of good things," Thibodeau said. "You could see he's not real comfortable with the ball yet, but that will come. He's averaging 13.3 points, 1.7 triples, 1.8 rebounds and 9.7 assists in the past three games. Advice: Both players will be evaluated around Thanksgiving, conceivably setting up returns on Friday, Nov. 28 or Tuesday, Dec. 2. • Taj Gibson (ankle) frustrated by third sprain
Taj Gibson sprained his left ankle for the third time since last year's playoffs on Friday, saying afterward, "I have to stop trying to run back out there and trying to play through these things."

Advice: "I pushed through a whole summer of trying to rehab the same ankle and it just keeps flaring up," Gibson said. "I just keep having these little bum ankle turns ... I have to be patient ... We've got a long season, but the dog in me wants to be out there and play. I have to learn from this." The ongoing nature of Gibson's injury suggests he'll miss significant time with his latest sprain, though fantasy owners can expect plenty of nebulous injury updates from the Bulls in the days to come. Nikola Mirotic posted a 20-10 game after Gibson went down on Friday, though his role will be limited once Pau Gasol (calf) gets back on the court. Rotoworld.com

  • Jimmy Butler has an overdue dud vs. POR
Jimmy Butler scored nine points with four rebounds, two assists and one steal on 3-of-13 from the field against the Blazers on Friday.

Advice: He's been one of the best players in the NBA this season and obviously gets a pass here. Butler's shot selection wasn't as great tonight, but there is no need to worry thanks to taking much smarter shots throughout the season. He'll likely get it going again on Monday against the Jazz. • JaVale McGee is perfect from the field
JaVale McGee made all six shots from the field for 14 points with eight rebounds, one steal and two blocks in 19 minutes against the Pelicans on Friday.

Advice: He's usually on the highlight reel for air-balling a free throw, throwing a ball away to the other team, or running back on defense when his team is still on offense, but he had himself a nice game. Although, he did kiss a fan after diving into the stands, so he'll still be on Shaqtin' a Fool next Thursday. McGee still hasn't played more than 20 minutes in a game this year and is just at 11.5 per game, so the negatives currently outweigh the positives. Rotoworld.com

Advice: He entered tonight making just 26.2 percent from the field and he really needed a big game like this one. • Thibs downplays Gibson's ankle injury
Coach Tom Thibodeau downplayed the ankle injury suffered by Taj Gibson on Friday night against the Blazers, saying he didn't think it was serious despite Gibson leaving the arena on crutches and in a walking boot.

Advice: X-rays taken were negative but there is a different vibe coming from writers that think he may need at least a little time to get his ankle right. Owners speculating on Nikola Mirotic (24 points, 11 rebounds, four threes) may want to tap the breaks here, but the running joke is that Thibs doesn't think any injury is serious. With Pau Gasol set to come back sooner rather than later it would appear, Mirotic is more of a flier than anything in 12-14 team formats. In daily formats owners could be able to squeeze a few good games out of him. Rotoworld.com

  • Taj Gibson hurts ankle in Friday's game
Taj Gibson hit the ground after hurting his left ankle in Friday's game and did not return.

Advice: He was helped off the floor by teammates and he is already on crutches, and it's the same ankle he hurt against the Cavs. Nikola Mirotic has looked pretty good with Pau Gasol out and he'll clearly take a backseat to Gasol and Joakim Noah, but in that injury prone crew he'll also be well-positioned if the injury bug strikes. We don't have a timetable on Gibson since the injury just occurred, but Mirotic is worth a look as a speculative add for any low-upside or risky player on your roster. Rotoworld.com

Kemba Walker flirted with a triple-double in Friday's home loss to the Magic, scoring 15 points on 7-of-19 shooting with a career-high 12 rebounds, eight assists and one 3-pointer.

Advice: It may seem like Walker's biggest issue is his field goal shooting but it's actually his free throw shooting. • Shaw wants JaVale McGee to go back to basics
Nuggets' head coach Brian Shaw wants JaVale McGee to go back to the basics.

"And I think that's where he gets himself in trouble from time to time. As he starts to do those things, he'll get to play more." McGee is still with a minutes restriction, and is averaging just 5.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks over 11.4 minutes of action this year. Once his minutes restriction is eventually lifted, he will still be locked into a timeshare with Timofey Mozgov and Jusuf Nurkic, and he just doesn't offer enough upside to be worth owning in most leagues. In his seven starts at power forward last season, he averaged 20.6 points, 9.7 boards, 1.7 blocks and 0.9 steals. Advice: "I couldn’t really tell you [an expected return date]. It just depends," Smart said. "One day my body feels good, probably one day it doesn’t. I’ve got to listen to my body." Smart was able to do some straight-line movement during Thursday's practice, but still is unable to do anything side-to-side. He may be able resume practicing next week, and after Sunday's game vs. Portland the Celtics don't play again until Friday, Nov. 28. • Mo Williams to start for the Timberwolves?
Mo Williams looked great in a starting role on Wednesday and his play has head coach Flip Saunders thinking about sticking with him in that role.

"When Mo came in and got me going. He’s just a veteran point guard in the backcourt with you. He knows your spots." Advice: The Hawks rank 28th in rebounding with a -3.8 differential and they're particularly poor on the offensive glass, where Carlos Boozer and Hill hurt them all night long.
