    • Carter scores 10 points with two threes
Vince Carter scored 10 points on 3-of-10 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds, three assists and two steals in 23 minutes off the bench on Friday.

Advice: Add another make or two and this is a typical Vince Carter line and it's looking like he's about ready to get his season going. When you iron out all the wrinkles it typically leads to late-round value, but with little upside he's not a must-add or even must-own player right now. Rotoworld.com

    • Ariza double-doubles with 15 & 10 vs. MEM
Trevor Ariza double-doubled in the Rockets' overtime win over the Grizzlies on Friday, scoring 15 points on 5-of-13 shooting (including four threes) with 10 rebounds, two steals and one block.

Advice: Ariza flies underneath the radar playing next to superstars James Harden and Dwight Howard, but his top-60 campaign is exactly what owners bargained for on draft day and there's no end in sight. Rotoworld.com

    • Harden just misses massive triple-double
James Harden just missed a massive triple-double in Friday's overtime win over the Grizzlies, scoring 32 points on 10-of-17 shooting (2-of-4 3PTs, 10-of-11 FTs) with eight rebounds, 10 assists and three blocks.

Advice: Harden pulls into a dead heat with Anthony Davis for the No. 1 rank in 8-cat leagues with the effort, though in 9-cat league that title is still held by Davis and it's not close. Rotoworld.com

    • Motiejunas losing his value in Houston
Donatas Motiejunas started and scored four points on 2-of-4 shooting with six rebounds, two assists and two blocks over 31 minutes in Friday's overtime win.

Advice: Motiejunas had started to improve his versatility and played well enough to hold some low-end value in standard leagues over the past few weeks. But with Josh Smith coming in and wasting no time taking on a primary role, there are enough hurdles for owners to move on a drop. If there is any good news for deep league owners it's that Terrence Jones will be out at least a month, and that should leave Motie a 24-28 minute role, albeit with limited touches. Rotoworld.com

    • Josh Smith takes 21 shots in Houston debut
Josh Smith led the Rockets in field goal attempts with 21 in his Rockets debut on Friday, and he hit just nine of them to finish with 21 points, eight boards and three assists.

Advice: The jokes just write themselves and he was more or less a positive in this game, but as usual he missed both of his 3-point attempts and unlike normal he hit all three free throws without a steal or block in his 32 minutes. We learned tonight that Terrence Jones is going to be out at least a month, making this a two-man timeshare at the power forward position. Smith has been terrible in standard leagues because of his shooting and turnovers, but may be forced by new circumstances to reel himself in. He's well worth a speculative add if he has been dropped but there are no guarantees that he can change his stripes in his 11th season. Rotoworld.com

    • Dudley ties NBA best night w/ 10-of-10 FGs
Jared Dudley tied an NBA season best shooting performance (Jarrett Jack) with 10-of-10 makes from the field, finishing with a season-high 24 points, four threes, four boards, two assists and a season-high four steals to boot.

Advice: Dudley logged 24 minutes off the bench and this has fluke written all over it. The Bucks just had a players only meeting and perhaps that boosted the veterans tonight, but the best we can say about Dudley is that he's worth a look. Ersan Ilyasova's sudden concussion-related absence could boost his profile, but one look at Dudley's game log is proof why owners shouldn't cut anybody of value here. Rotoworld.com

    • McHale: Terrence Jones could miss 4-6 weeks
Coach Kevin McHale said Terrence Jones (leg) could be out for a month to six weeks.

Advice: Well, now it makes a little more sense why the Rockets picked up Josh Smith. Jones' nerve damage to his leg was much worse than the Rockets were letting on, so it'll likely be a two-way split at power forward for Smith and Donatas Motiejunas -- they'll also get some minutes at center. Jones can be cut in most leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Marco Belinelli scores 13 points off bench
Marco Belinelli scored 13 points off the bench against the Pelicans on Friday with three rebounds, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer in 32 minutes.

Advice: He's played 32.2 minutes per game in his last five, averaging 12.0 points, 2.6 boards, 1.8 assists and 1.0 treys. Belinelli is the biggest beneficiary of Kawhi Leonard (hand) missing time, but he's still not worth owning in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Jonas Jerebko lives up to the billing
Jonas Jerebko played 28 minutes as expected on Friday with 10 points, six rebounds, three assists, one block and one 3-pointer.

Advice: It was a solid game with seven field goal attempts. Garbage time was not really a factor and Jerebko should see minutes in the mid-20s off the bench. He is worth a look in deep leagues for his production in treys, points, boards and occasional defense. Rotoworld.com

    • Nicolas Batum (wrist) will play against Philly
Nicolas Batum (wrist) will play against the 76ers on Friday.

Advice: He might not be looking for his shot due to the pain in his wrist, but Batum isn't a high volume scorer anyway. His fantasy owners can plug him back into their lineups in this favorable matchup. Allen Crabbe will likely move back to the bench. Rotoworld.com

    • Update: Tony Allen is now starting vs. HOU
Tony Allen is starting against the Rockets on Friday.

Advice: It was a surprise to see an earlier report say he was coming off the bench, especially in this matchup. Allen is still took risky to use in standard leagues right now. Rotoworld.com

    • Tony Allen (eye) will come off the bench Fri.
Tony Allen (eye) will come off the bench for Friday's game vs. the Rockets.

Advice: Tayshaun Prince is going to get the start at small forward tonight, but he's coming off a scoreless game and isn't a reliable option in any league. Vince Carter, Quincy Pondexter, Prince, Allen will likely all split minutes, effectively cancelling out the value of each player. Rotoworld.com

    • Josh Smith will come off the bench
Coach Kevin McHale said he will "play it by ear" on who he is going to start at power forward.

Advice: It's going to be Donatas Motiejunas for the foreseeable future, but it should be Josh Smith in a week or two. Of course, Terrence Jones (leg) will be a factor here too. Fantasy owners shouldn't have high hopes for any of these three guys. Rotoworld.com

    • Marco Belinelli will come off the bench Fri.
Kyle Anderson will replace Marco Belinelli in the starting lineup for Friday's game vs. the Pelicans.

Advice: Belinelli is far from consistent, so he'll be a risky option in daily leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Kyle Anderson will start on Friday
Kyle Anderson will start next to Cory Joseph, Danny Green, Tim Duncan and Tiago Splitter.

Advice: On top of Anderson starting, it's worth a mention that Green and Splitter are in the lineup. Those two guys were sneaky scratches on Saturday despite being active. Anderson is a very risky play tonight. Rotoworld.com

    • Tony Allen (eye) will play on Friday
Tony Allen (eye) will play against the Rockets on Friday.

Advice: He was at practice on Thursday and he should see his normal playing time. Vince Carter and Quincy Pondexter will likely lose playing time. This isn't a great situation to go with for daily leagues tonight. Rotoworld.com

    • Nicolas Batum, Aldridge are questionable
Nicolas Batum (wrist) and LaMarcus Aldridge (illness) are questionable to play against the 76ers on Friday.

Advice: Considering the matchup and how much Batum has struggled with his shot, he's probably a little closer to doubtful tonight. He did not play on Tuesday and it was mostly Allen Crabbe getting some extra run. Coach Terry Stotts plays the matchups a lot, so Crabbe is still an extremely risky play. Rotoworld.com
      Yesterday, 11:54 am
    • Josh Smith unlikely to start in debut
Josh Smith is expected to "get some run" tonight but is unlikely to start against the Grizzlies.

Advice: That suggests Donatas Motiejunas will start again. There were rumors that Smith wouldn't agree to joining a team unless he starts, so that will likely be happening soon. Motiejunas can be dropped in several formats while Smith's fantasy value isn't great in standard leagues either. Rotoworld.com

    • Hollis Thompson (illness) still out on Friday
Hollis Thompson (illness) will not play against the Blazers on Friday.

Advice: He's been out since Sunday, so this is a bit strange and hopefully he's OK. While he is out, JaKarr Sampson, K.J. McDaniels and Tony Wroten will get more run at shooting guard. Jerami Grant may also play a bit more, but is not a great fantasy option. Thompson is not worth owning in most leagues. Rotoworld.com

Lance Stephenson (hip) will not play Friday vs. OKC or Saturday vs. Orlando, but is hopeful for Monday's game vs. Milwaukee.

Advice: "I think we had a good idea he’d be out longer – it’s a tough [injury] day-to-day; where it is makes it hard to know," coach Steve Clifford said. "[Monday] at the very earliest. He hasn’t been able to do anything. He’s just getting to the point where he can even shoot." • Josh Smith set to make Rockets debut Friday
Josh Smith has officially signed with Houston, and he's set to make his Rockets debut Friday vs. the Grizzlies.

Advice: Smith will likely start which will send Donatas Motiejunas to the bench. However, the Rockets were forced to cut Tarik Black in order to make room for Smith on the roster, so Motiejunas could see some time as Howard's primary backup with Terrence Jones (leg) still on the shelf. Owners of Motiejunas should see how he performs tonight before making the cut. Rotoworld.com

    • Josh Smith is hopeful to play Friday vs. MEM
Josh Smith is hopeful he'll be able to complete his physical and officially sign his deal with Houston early enough on Friday to be available for the Rockets' game vs. the Grizzlies.

Advice: Smith has been guaranteed the starting power forward slot in Houston, and if he's cleared to play tonight Donatas Motiejunas will head to the bench. If Smith isn't able to complete all the necessary paper work in time for tonight's game, he's a sure bet for Sunday's game vs. San Antonio. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • C.J. Miles chosing his spots more carefully
After struggling mightily from the field through the month of November, C.J. Miles has made an effort to choose his shots more wisely during the month of December.

Advice: "We wanted him to be assertive. He has the green light, but we want him to be selective in his shots," said Pacers' head coach Frank Vogel. "I was encouraging him to be so assertive that he was not great with shot selection. I think he's being smarter about that now." Miles is averaging 15.5 points and 2.4 three-pointers per game on 42.4 percent shooting from the field during the month of December, and he'll be worth owning in standard leagues as long as he can keep up his current pace. • Jonas Jerebko ready to step into the rotation
Jonas Jerebko is ready for a larger role with the Pistons with the departure of Josh Smith.

Advice: "Obviously, with a 4 man gone - I see myself as a 4 man - a lot more minutes open up in practice and in games," Jerebko said. "I feel like I'm ready to take that step and I'm ready to go in there and battle for them." Jerebko was buried on the bench while Smith was with the team, but now he'll likely be one of the first bigs off the bench. We’ll be monitoring coach Stan Van Gundy’s rotations closely over the coming weeks, and owners in standard leagues can use a wait-and-see approach with Jerebko. Rotoworld.com

    • Tony Allen (eye) returns to practice Thursday
Tony Allen (eye) returned to practice on Thursday, and is looking probable for Friday's game vs. Houston.

Advice: Memphis is no longer listing Allen on their injury report, so it's looking very likely he will return to the lineup for a difficult matchup vs. the Rockets. His return will likely send Tayshaun Prince back to the bench, and hurt the limited value of Vince Carter. Check back for an official update on Allen's status closer to Friday's tip. Rotoworld.com

    • Marco Belinellli will start vs Thunder Thurs
Marco Belinelli will draw the start against the Thunder on Thursday.

Advice: Belinelli will replace Kyle Anderson in the Spurs' starting lineup as Kawhi Leonard (hand) remains out. Belinelli has averaged 12.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 0.7 steals, and 1.0 three-pointers as a starter, so makes for a decent plug-and-play option on Thursday. Rotoworld.com

    • Josh Smith excited to join Houston Rockets
Josh Smith said he is excited to join the Houston Rockets.

Advice: Smith will join old friend Dwight Howard in Houston and referred to James Harden as the best shooting guard in the NBA. "It's an exciting time for me," Smith said on Wednesday. "Being able to be reunited with a good friend and one of the best teammates I ever played with, I think we can definitely do something special." While Smith has plenty of potential, he can be a frustrating player to own so fantasy owners will want to temper their expectations for the mercurial forward. Rotoworld.com

    • Josh Smith clears waivers on Wednesday
Josh Smith cleared waivers on Wednesday at 5 pm EST.

Advice: Obviously no team was going to claim Smith and help out the Pistons for their awful contract. He is going to sign with the Rockets for the bi-annual exception at $2.077 million. Interestingly, 25.8 percent of Smith's field goal attempts are long two-pointers of at least 16 feet. On the other hand, only 6.8 percent of the Rockets field goal attempts are long twos. Smith was just the 188th best player in standard leagues and is dead last in true shooting percentage among players with at least 26 minutes per game. Fantasy owners will probably not want to set their hopes too high for any Rockets power forward. Rotoworld.com

    • Lance Stephenson (hip) ruled out for Friday
Lance Stephenson (hip) will not play against the Thunder on Friday.

Advice: He is not close to a return and coach Steve Clifford isn't exactly Lance's biggest fan. He is one of the least efficient players in the NBA and his defense has fallen off, too. Stephenson isn't necessarily a must-own player anymore. Gary Neal, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Gerald Henderson will benefit. Rotoworld.com

    • Terrence Jones (leg) working out on Wednesday
Terrence Jones (leg) did some working out with the team on Wednesday.

Advice: He is still without a timetable and it's possible the Rockets may have had interest in Josh Smith because of the severity of Jones' leg injury. Regardless, the Smith signing has essentially put the kibosh on a breakout for Terrence Jones, so patience has not paid off for his fantasy owners. His ceiling is severely capped and he is a cut candidate in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Donatas Motiejunas likely headed to bench
Donatas Motiejunas will likely return to a bench role once Josh Smith signs with Houston Wednesday evening.

Advice: It really is a shame considering how well Motiejunas had done after filling in for Terrence Jones (leg) in the starting lineup, but it looks like his time for fantasy relevancy in standard leagues is coming to an end. Owners may want to give it a few games before making a decision, but we won't blame you if you decide to move on. Rotoworld.com

    • Josh Smith has committed to Houston Rockets
Josh Smith has committed to play for the Houston Rockets after he clears waivers at 5:00 pm EST.

Advice: Given his outstanding relationship with Dwight Howard and Houston's promise to put him in the starting lineup, this move was expected. It's a little interesting that the Rockets were so intrigued with Smith given how inefficient he is, but maybe he can turn things around and provide a boost to their playoff aspirations. Terrence Jones and Donatas Motiejunas' value takes a huge hit with this news, but owners should use a wait-and-see approach to see how things pan out. Rotoworld.com

    • Houston to promise Josh Smith a starting spot
The Houston Rockets are assuring Josh Smith that he would be a starter if he signed on with them according to Marc Stein of ESPN.

Advice: Houston has emerged as the most likely destination for Smith, and this latest report would only solidify that. We will watch this situation very closely, as he is expected to clear waivers at 5:00 pm EST. His arrival would put a huge dent in the value of Donatas Motiejunas and Terrence Jones, so owners will want to stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

Lance Stephenson is rumored to be coveted by the Denver Nuggets, but he still hopes to stay in Charlotte and make things right.

Advice: Denver Coach Brian Shaw had a strong relationship with Stephenson when they were together in Indiana, so we could definitely see this report gaining some traction. However, the Hornets fear that they won't get enough in return for him at the moment, and there is no indication that a deal is in the works right now. Owners can only hope that Stephenson gets traded, as his fantasy value has plummeted in Charlotte. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

Advice: He's been lighting it up since returning to the lineup, and is averaging 20.5 points, 2.7 3-pointers, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.0 steal per game over the last four. He has a favorable matchup tonight vs. the Pelicans, and should serve as a decent plug-and-play option in daily leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Tony Allen (eye) questionable Friday vs. HOU
Tony Allen (eye) is questionable for Friday's game against the Rockets.

Advice: Tayshaun Prince has started the last two with Allen sidelined, but his contributions to the stat sheet have been negligible (zero points in his last outing). Vince Carter has been the main beneficiary with Allen unavailable, and he can be viewed as a low-end plug-and-play option in daily leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Howard would love to see Josh Smith in HOU
Dwight Howard said he's already had some discussions with Josh Smith, and he would love to see his old friend in Houston.

Advice: Houston is very confident they will be able to land Smith, and if he does end up in a Rockets uniform, he's really going to hurt the value of Donatas Motiejunas and Terrence Jones (leg). The Kings, Clippers, Heat, and Mavs remain in the running, and Smith is expected to clear the NBA waiver process Wednesday at 5pm EST. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • Nicolas Batum out Tuesday vs Thunder
Nicolas Batum (wrist) will miss Tuesday's game against the Thunder.

Advice: There isn't a major fantasy beneficiary of Batum's absence, but Wesley Matthews will look to get increased run while Allen Crabbe, Dorrell Wright, Victor Claver, Will Barton, and C.J. McCollum should all see extra minutes. Rotoworld.com

Vince Carter scored 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting (including two threes) with two rebounds, two assists and one steal in 22 minutes off the bench on Monday.

Advice: Carter also dunked on Rudy Gobert and sent the Internet into a brief tizzy. It's very possible that Carter took November and most of December off because he's old, and now he's ready to settle into the role he had last year. Give him a look. Rotoworld.com

    • Trevor Ariza scores seven points in win
Trevor Ariza scored seven points with six rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 32 minutes on Monday.

Advice: He's really cold right now and the timing couldn't be worse. Over his last 11 games, Ariza has made just 32.3 percent from the field with 2.0 turnovers and his fantasy value is bottoming out. With Corey Brewer going off tonight, it's worth seeing if his current fantasy owners is panicking. Ariza should be a mid-round guy this season. Rotoworld.com

    • Beard Goes Bonkers: James Harden scores 44
James Harden dominated the Blazers on Monday during a 110-95 win, scoring 44 points with three rebounds, seven assists, five steals and four 3-pointers in 32 minutes.

Advice: On top of all that, he had just one turnover. Harden had 31 points, five dimes and five steals at halftime and the Blazers couldn't do anything to stop him. In his last five games with Dwight Howard in the lineup, Harden averaged 29.6 points, 6.0 boards, 9.2 assists, 1.8 steals, 0.6 blocks and 2.2 triples. He's in the hunt for MVP. Rotoworld.com

Nicolas Batum had a quiet night against the Rockets on Monday with two points, two rebounds, three assists and one turnover.

Advice: He's just not taking shots right now and only had three attempts tonight. Batum posted a usage rate of just 10.5 over his last two games, which dropped his season usage rate to just 14.4 -- the second-lowest usage rate among players with at least 34 minutes per game (DeAndre Jordan). His fantasy value is near its low point. Rotoworld.com

    • James Harden (hamstring) will play
James Harden (hamstring) will play against the Blazers on Monday.

    • Trevor Ariza ready to roll vs. Portland
Trevor Ariza (calf) will play against the Blazers on Monday.

Advice: He just has some soreness to his calf and it doesn't sound like it will cost him minutes. Corey Brewer is available, but he's not likely going to be a threat to Ariza's minutes. Terrence Jones (leg) is still without a timetable to return.

Advice: There has been very little information on Jones, but he has been going through some strengthening. He appears to be getting at least somewhat closer and has been out since Nov. 3. Trevor Ariza (sore left calf) is probable to play on Monday vs. the Blazers.

Advice: A late addition to the injury report, Ariza's calf is not considered a major issue. The Rockets can't afford any more injuries to anyone right now, and Ariza would be an especially difficult player to replace if he were forced to miss any time. Rotoworld.com

    • James Harden, Dwight Howard probable Monday
James Harden (hamstring) and Dwight Howard (shoulder) are both probable to play on Monday against the Blazers.

Tony Allen (eye) currently has no timetable to return.

Advice: Allen is dealing with a corneal abrasion, and it's hard to even speculate how long he might miss with the eye injury. While he's sidelined, look for Quincy Pondexter, Vince Carter and Tayshaun Prince to all fill in for the Grizzlies. Rotoworld.com

Kyle Anderson felt good about being ready to step in for the Spurs when Kawhi Leonard (hand) went down.

Advice: "When I was told I would start, I was ready," said Anderson. "I went out there and played the way (coach Gregg Popovich) wants us to play, starting on the defensive end, finding open guys and playing within the system." Averaging 6.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.4 steals on 44.8 percent shooting (six games), Anderson has displayed some of the versatility he flashed in college. "He’s a young kid," Popovich said. • C.J. Miles drops 28 pts with four 3-pointers
The Pacers escaped with a win in Minnesota on Sunday thanks to C.J. Miles scoring 28 points on 10-of-18 shooting, including four 3-pointers.

Advice: Miles did his damage in 32 minutes off Indiana's bench, chipping in six rebounds with zero turnovers, assists, steals or blocks. He's been tremendous since returning to action on Dec. 15, and is worth a pickup based on his averages over the past four games -- 20.5 points, 2.7 threes, 4.7 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 1.0 turnovers. • James Harden (hamstring) probable for Monday
James Harden (strained left hamstring) is probable to play Monday vs. Portland.

Advice: Harden injured his hamstring during Saturday's game vs. Atlanta, but played through the strain and put up 18 points, six rebounds, and a season-high 14 assists over 39 minutes of action so we'd expect him to give it a go on Monday. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • Tony Allen (eye) out Sunday vs. Cleveland
Tony Allen (eye) will not play Sunday vs. the Cavs.

Advice: Allen's minutes will be distributed to guys like Vince Carter, Quincy Pondexter, and Tayshaun Prince, with Carter offering the most upside out of the group. Prince and Pondexter shouldn't be considered an option in most leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Hollis Thompson (illness) out on Sunday
Hollis Thompson (illness) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Magic.

Advice: He is dealing with an upper respiratory infection, but he should be fine with a little rest. K.J. McDaniels is the biggest beneficiary of this news, and makes for an intriguing plug-and-play option for his ability to block shots and shoot 3-pointers. Rotoworld.com

    • Tony Allen (eye) doubtful for Sunday's game
Tony Allen (eye) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Cavaliers.

Advice: His eye still looks really rough, so there is almost no shot he plays in this one. Quincy Pondexter will likely start, but Vince Carter played 41 minutes the last time Allen rested and he looks like the best option in daily leagues. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • Lance Stephenson clashing with teammates
According to league sources, Lance Stephenson is clashing with his teammates in the locker room, but coach Steve Clifford is hopeful that Charlotte's veterans will help Stephenson become more of a team player.

Advice: This isn't surprising by any means, as Stephenson has been a major disappointment so far in Charlotte. However, it appears that the Hornets are no longer aggressively shopping him, as they feel like his value is too low to deal him right now. Unless Stephenson returns from his hip injury soon and starts to turn things around, he will be a really tough player to own in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Jared Dudley scores 16 points vs. Clippers
Jared Dudley excelled against his former team on Saturday with 16 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and two 3-pointers in 30 minutes.

Advice: That's back-to-back good games from Dudley and he's passed Khris Middleton as the waiver-wire add du jour. Dudley's done a fair amount of ball handling to go with his perimeter shooting, so there is enough upside to at least give him a look. That said, trusting coach Jason Kidd's rotation is like trusting a dingo to look after your baby. Rotoworld.com

    • Marco Belinelli scores 21 points in start
Marco Belinelli scored a team-high 21 points against the Mavs on Saturday with three rebounds, two assists and five turnovers.

Advice: He played 39 minutes in the starting lineup with the Spurs resting most of their wing guys. Belinelli has been good on the nights he gets heavy minutes, but the problem is that doesn't happen often enough. He'll have a big night again, so keep him in mind the next time the Spurs rest numerous players. Rotoworld.com

    • Kyle Anderson logs 31 minutes
Kyle Anderson logged 31 minutes against the Mavericks on Saturday with 11 points, eight rebounds, two steals and one 3-pointer.

Advice: The Spurs were somehow able to snag him at 30 in the 2014 NBA Draft and he already looks like a steal. Kawhi Leonard (hand) could miss time, so Anderson is worth a look in deeper leagues for his multiple-category production. Just remember that he's not going to play this much because half of the team was rested. Rotoworld.com

    • James Harden (hamstring) double-doubles
James Harden needed to go to the locker room in the first half due to a hamstring injury on Saturday and did return in the second quarter, finishing with 18 points, six rebounds, 14 assists, one steal, one block and two 3-pointers during a 104-97 loss.

Advice: He played 39 minutes and the injury didn't seem to bother him much. The Rockets are off until Monday when they'll get a much anticipated rematch against the Blazers, so Harden owners can expect him to suit up for that one. Of course there is a chance he deals with soreness. Rotoworld.com

    • Trevor Ariza really struggling
Trevor Ariza made 5-of-14 from the field for 13 point with three rebounds, one assist, two steals and three 3-pointers against the Hawks on Saturday.

Advice: He has been struggling in his previous 10, making just 32.4 percent from the field for 14.8 points, 7.6 boards, 1.4 assists and 1.6 steals, but he is still holding decent value in fantasy because of the treys. His catch-and-shoot percentage is a far cry from last year, so maybe this is the John Wall effect. Still, Ariza is a must-start player. Also, there's no need to worry about Corey Brewer. • Donatas Motiejunas finally struggling
Donatas Motiejunas scored eight points with seven rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 25 minutes against the Hawks on Saturday.

Advice: He's made just 8-of-24 (33.3 percent) from the field in his last two and has finally slowed down. This is probably good news for the Terrence Jones (leg) stashers out there and Motiejunas may have some trouble holding value in a few weeks. If there is an irresistible guy on the wire, D-Mo's ceiling isn't too high anyway. Rotoworld.com

    • Nicolas Batum plays 30 minutes in a win
Nicolas Batum looked healthy against the Pelicans on Saturday with 11 points, three rebounds, five assists and three steals in 30 minutes.

Advice: It would have been a larger allotment of playing time, but the Blazers had this game won in the middle of the third quarter. Batum isn't quite 100 percent due to wrist and knee ailments, but he's played through plenty of issues -- an evulsion fracture to his hand last season, for example. He's a prime buy-low target. • James Harden returns after hurting hamstring
James Harden strained his hamstring in Saturday's game vs. the Hawks, but has since returned.

Advice: This is incredible news for the Rockets, and it looks like Harden dodged a bullet here. We will obviously monitor him closely, and we will provide updates as needed. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com
      Saturday, 5:49 pm
    • Marco Belinelli set to start on Saturday
Marco Belinelli will start on Saturday vs. Dallas, replacing Danny Green.

Advice: Green will come off of the bench in an effort to monitor his playing time after playing 44 minutes on Friday, so this is by no means a permanent move. Belinelli is worth a look in deeper leagues for owners in need of 3-pointers, and will also be a decent plug-and-play option Saturday. Rotoworld.com

    • Nicolas Batum still active for Saturday
Nicolas Batum, who intends on playing Saturday, was in pain and grimacing due to a sore wrist in pre-game warmups.

Advice: He's on the active list and all signs are pointing to him playing, but either way, he'll likely be limited by his wrist and knee, so it would be wise to look in another direction in daily leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Lance Stephenson (hip) out until Christmas
Lance Stephenson (hip) will not play until Christmas.

Advice: He is dealing with an injury to his pelvis and the Hornets won't have him for at least two more games following today. He should be considered questionable for Friday Dec. 26 against OKC. While he's out, Gary Neal, Gerald Henderson and Marvin Williams will benefit. None are worth owning in standard leagues, though. • Lance Stephenson (hip) highly doubtful Sat
Lance Stephenson (hip) is highly doubtful for Saturday's game vs. the Jazz.

Advice: He sat out on Friday against the 76ers, and there is almost no shot that he will play vs. the Jazz. Gerald Henderson will likely draw another start, while Gary Neal will also see a boost off of the bench. Stephenson has upside, but unless he is traded to a more favorable situation he will be really tough to own in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • Nicolas Batum (knee) out Friday vs. the Spurs
Nicolas Batum (wrist, knee) has been ruled out for Friday's game vs. the Spurs.

Advice: C.J McCollum, Dorell Wright, Allen Crabbe, and Will Barton will all step up to help fill the void with Batum sidelined, but none of these guys make for a great play in standard leagues. Portland plays again Saturday against the Pelicans, and we'll be considering Batum questionable for that one. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com

    • Tony Allen (eye) out Friday vs. Chicago
Tony Allen (right corneal abrasion) will not suit up for Friday's game vs. the Bulls.

Advice: Quincy Pondexter will likely draw the start, while Vince Carter will see extended minutes off the bench. Carter logged 41 minutes during his last outing with Allen sidelined, and put up 18 points with five 3-pointers, he does however have a difficult matchup against the Bulls, so Carter remains a risky option in daily leagues. • Report: Stephenson no longer on trading block
The Hornets have reportedly pulled Lance Stephenson off the trading block as none of the offers they received were enticing enough to pull the trigger on a deal.

Advice: The Hornets believe that Stephenson's groin injury has hindered him all season, and is the main culprit to his lack of production thus far. Charlotte feels that the injury affected Stephenson's movement and conditioning, and they would like to see him at full strength before sending him away for pennies on the dollar. While Stephenson may get traded away at some point this season, it is not likely to happen any time soon. Rotoworld.com

Lance Stephenson (hip) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the 76ers, and he's being listed as doubtful for Saturday's game vs. the Jazz.

Advice: This is just a reminder to get Stephenson out of your lineups. Gerald Henderson, Gary Neal, and Michael Kidd Gilchrist will all be asked to step up with Stephenson sidelined in a favorable matchup vs. the 76ers. MKG and Neal offer the most upside, but neither is a lock for production. Rotoworld.com

The Heat have reportedly expressed interest in acquiring Lance Stephenson.

    • Jared Dudley scores season-high 19 points
Jared Dudley scored a season-high 19 points against the Kings on Thursday with five rebounds, one assist, one steal and two 3-pointers in 33 minutes.

Advice: He had season highs in field goal attempts and free throw attempts in what was obviously his best game. Dudley has barely been shooting the rock while he's been out there and only had 0.8 triples per game in his previous eight games this month. This rotation is going to be a mess, so he's not a standard league target based on this game alone. Rotoworld.com

    • James Harden scores 21 points in a loss
James Harden scored 21 points on 8-of-23 from the field during a 99-90 loss to the Pelicans on Thursday, adding seven rebounds, five assists and two 3-pointers.

Advice: Kudos to Austin Rivers for actually doing something most players can't do: Keep Harden in check. Obviously Harden is one of the biggest stat-stuffers in the NBA, leading the NBA in scoring and free throw makes with two steals per night. He did play the second half of a back-to-back, so he'll be fine. Rotoworld.com

    • Donatas Motiejiunas finally has a bad game
Donatas Motiejunas had an overdue dud on Thursday against the Pelicans with nine points, four rebounds and two assists in 23 minutes.

Advice: He got a front-row seat to watch Anthony Davis destroy him and he gets a pass here. Motiejunas made an impressive 56.7 percent from the field in his previous 10 for 16.6 points per game, so expect him to turn it around on Saturday against the Hawks. Rotoworld.com

    • Nicolas Batum (knee, wrist) questionable Fri
Nicolas Batum (left knee contusion, right wrist) is questionable to play against the Spurs on Friday.

Advice: This probably has to do with his bad fall from the incident with Larry Sanders on Wednesday. Batum did not miss time, but he does have a history with wrist and knee ailments. If he misses time, C.J. McCollum, Dorell Wright and Will Barton will likely pick up some minutes -- none are great fantasy plays. Batum owners will want to check back on Friday morning. Rotoworld.com

    • James Harden scores 41 points in OT win
James Harden added his newest piece of evidence in his bid for MVP during a 115-111 overtime win over the Nuggets on Wednesday scoring 41 points with four rebounds, 10 assists, two steals and one 3-pointer.

Advice: He made 11-of-21 from the field and 18-of-21 from the field in 45 minutes. This line is pretty ridiculous and he became the sixth player since 1985-86 to have more than 20 attempts from the field, more than 20 attempts from the line, and at least 10 assists. The other five are Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Allen Iverson and Kenny Anderson. Harden is good. Rotoworld.com

    • Donatas Motiejunas keeps the party going
Donatas Motiejunas was fantastic against the Nuggets on Wednesday with 18 points, six rebounds, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers in 42 minutes.

Advice: Terrence Jones (leg) is at least getting some shots up at practice, so he's at least on his way back. There is still no timetable for his return, so Motiejunas is good to go as a must-start guy right now. Keep him roster and cross the TJ bridge when you get to it. Rotoworld.com

    • C.J. Miles scores 17 in loss to Clippers
C.J. Miles came off the bench to hit 6-of-14 shots and two 3-pointers for 17 points, three rebounds, three assists and a steal in Wednesday's loss to the Clippers.

Advice: He had 20 points and three 3-pointers on Monday night, and had a 30-point game on December 10. He appears to be over his knee injury and it would not be surprising to see him replace Solomon Hill in the starting lineup at some point in the near future. He's a streaky shooter and has trouble staying healthy, so make sure you can handle the headaches that are coming if you pick him up. Rotoworld.com

    • Nicolas Batum is fine after a bad fall
Nicolas Batum had a bad fall against the Bucks on Wednesday, finishing with eight points, six rebounds, six assists, one steal and one 3-pointer.

Advice: Larry Sanders committed a dirty foul on Batum and he was down for a couple minutes, but he did not miss time at all in tonight's game. Batum does play some stretch four, so that might actually help him get more shots while the Blazers adapt to not having Robin Lopez. He's still a nice buy-low player. Rotoworld.com
      Wednesday, 11:39 pm
    • Jared Dudley scores three points in start
Jared Dudley scored three points in 27 minutes during a start against the Blazers on Wednesday, adding two rebounds, five assists and one steal.

Advice: He committed four fouls and wasn't as involved in the offense nearly as much. Dudley's usage rate is extremely low, so he's not going to be asked to score much. His assists are fairly high for a guy with his role, but it's still not enough to move the needle enough to grab him in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com
      Wednesday, 10:51 pm
    • Vince Carter scored 18 in 41 minutes
Vince Carter played 41 minutes against the Spurs on Wednesday with 18 points, three rebounds, three assists, three steals and five 3-pointers.

Advice: He is half-a-man, half-amazing after all. Carter had a 16-point game on Tuesday and the Grizzlies have suddenly turned him loose with the loss of Tony Allen (eye). He was only played 15 minutes per game before this sudden increase, so he's only worth a look in deep leagues for now. Plus, Allen shouldn't be out too long. Rotoworld.com
      Wednesday, 10:24 pm
    • Kyle Anderson starting again on Wednesday
Kyle Anderson will start against the Grizzlies on Wednesday.

Advice: He'll join Cory Joseph, Danny Green, Tim Duncan and Matt Bonner in the first unit. Anderson was very impressive on Monday with 15 points, so he could keep it going. He's not worth owning in most leagues with Kawhi Leonard (hand) only day-to-day. Rotoworld.com
      Wednesday, 5:41 pm
    • Jared Dudley starting in place of Parker
Jared Dudley will start in place of Jabari Parker on Wednesday.

Advice: He replaced Jabari when the injury happened, so this move is not a surprise. Dudley also played 20 minutes in the second half on Monday, so he should see a nice increase in playing time. He's worth a look in standard leagues, but there's no need to be too aggressive. Rotoworld.com
