    • Kentavious Caldwell-Pope might not be back in FA
      In a recent interview with Ryan Blackburn of Mile High Sports, Nuggets GM Calvin Booth alluded to a potential Kentavious Caldwell-Pope free agency departure.

      Advice: Booth said, “Yeah, I think you have to look at everything and the nature of free agency is that he’s unrestricted. So we can try to bring him back and if he doesn’t want to come back or opts to go somewhere else, that’s his prerogative so we’ll have to work with that.” That comment is innocuous, but his final word on the matter speaks to the possibility of KCP departing in free agency. According to Booth, “It would be nice if he’s back, we’d have a lot of continuity together, but all the stuff I’ve looked at with lineup stuff and everything, Christian Braun is one of the best net rating guys in the league — as is KCP. So I think if he’s to step into the starting lineup, I would project that we’ll be OK if KCP doesn’t return.” If Caldwell-Pope doesn’t return to the Nuggets next season, Braun is an intriguing late-round pick.     • Shams: MIA to sign Bam Adebayo to 3-year extension
      According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Heat will sign Bam Adebayo to a three-year, $166 million extension on July 6.

      Advice: Adebayo is viewed as a franchise cornerstone in Miami, and the Heat will pay him accordingly. Per the new league rules, teams can negotiate with their players, who will either be free agents or extension-eligible beginning the day after the conclusion of the NBA Finals.     • To sign three-year extension
      Adebayo intends to sign a three-year extension with the Heat, Tim Reynolds of Associated Press reported Wednesday.

      Advice: The extension will be worth $166 million, per Shams Charania of The Athletic, and keep Adebayo in Miami through the 2028-29 campaign. Adebayo is a three-time All-Star and was named to the All-Defensive First Team last season. He averaged 19.3 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.9 blocks in 34.0 minutes per game across 71 regular-season appearances in 2023-24. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:40 am
       
    • Stein: Magic, 76ers targeting Caldwell-Pope
      The Magic and 76ers are considering making runs at Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in free agency, per Marc Stein.

      Advice: KCP has won two of the last five championships as part of different squads while providing value on both ends of the value. He should make a huge impact on either the 76ers or Magic as both teams are ready to contend and could use a 3-and-D starter at shooting guard.     • Pascal Siakam to ink 4-year, $189.5M max extension
      According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Pascal Siakam will sign a four-year, $189.5 million max extension with the Pacers.

      Advice: Siakam can sign the deal on July 6 when the free agency moratorium period ends. It’s not a surprising update based on earlier reports indicating he’d return to Indiana on a long-term deal. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:49 am

      Siakam agreed Wednesday with the Pacers on a four-year, $189.5 million maximum contract, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

      Advice: Siakam plans to officially sign the contract once the free agency moratorium ends July 6. After coming over from Toronto in Jan. 17 trade, Siakam proved to be an ideal fit in the Pacers frontcourt and was instrumental in helping lead Indiana to an appearance in the Eastern Conference Finals. Over his 41 regular-season appearances with the Pacers following the trade, Siakam averaged 21.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.0 three-pointers and 0.8 steals in 31.8 minutes per contest while shooting 54.9 percent from the field.       According to Pacers beat writer Scott Agness, Pascal Siakam and the Pacers are nearing a long-term contract extension.

      Advice: According to Agness, “Both sides know how each other feels [and] want the partnership to continue.” It’s not surprising news considering Siakam’s trade to Indiana at the end of his expiring deal. The belief was that he would stick around for the long haul after the Pacers traded for him, and he’ll be back with Tyrese Haliburton, Myles Turner and the rest of Indiana’s young core as the team looks to replicate the success it found in an Eastern Conference Finals run this season. Siakam averaged 21.3 points on 54.9% shooting, 7.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.0 triples across 41 appearances for the Pacers and finished 77th in per-game fantasy value in that span. The terms of the proposed deal aren't known yet, but Siakam is likely getting a maximum deal or close to it.
