  • Cody Zeller coming on for Hornets
Cody Zeller had nine points, seven rebounds, a steal and a block on 4-of-10 shooting in 30 minutes off the bench on Wednesday.

Advice: Marvin Williams was useless again, failing to score in 11 minutes, and Zeller has now been playing well for three games. He's averaging 12.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, a steal and a block in 30 minutes over that stretch. It would not be surprising to see him replace Marvin Williams in the starting lineup if things don't change soon. Rotoworld.com

  • Report: Teams inquiring about Brandon Bass
Various scouts and front-office types have reportedly begun to inquire about the availability of veteran forward Brandon Bass.

Advice: The Celtics currently own a record of 4-8, so they'll need to make a decision as to whether they're going to try and compete for a playoff spot, or go into a full rebuild. At 29-years-old, Bass doesn't make sense on a rebuilding team, so the Celtics may look to trade him for a younger asset or draft picks. It's not currently known what teams have reached out to the Celtics, and Danny Ainge has not made himself available to comment on the situation, but it is something worth monitoring. Bass doesn't get enough consistent minutes in Boston to be worth any attention in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

  • Cory Joseph questionable for Friday vs Kings
Cory Joseph (ankle) is questionable for Friday's game against the Kings.

Advice: Joseph is only averaging 7.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists this season, so Joseph's status means more to the injury-depleted Spurs than it does to fantasy owners. If Joseph is again unable to play, Manu Ginobili and Marco Belinelli would handle the ball when Tony Parker is on the bench. Rotoworld.com

  • Dirk happy about Tyson Chandler revenge game
Dirk Nowitzki said he and his Mavericks teammates wanted to win Wednesday's game against the Knicks for Tyson Chandler.

Advice: Chandler was quick to downplay Wednesday's matchup against his former team, but Nowitzki said Mavericks wanted to win the game for their center. "We were actually talking about before the game that we had to shoot him with a tranquilizer gun to slow him down a little bit," Dirk Nowitzki said. "He was obviously amped up for this one. And we wanted to get this one for him." This was likely Chandler's high-water mark for the season, but his fantasy owners can still look forward a potential double-double every time the 32-year-old steps on the court. Rotoworld.com

  • Jeremy Lin plays well again despite back
Jeremy Lin continues to play through a tender back and hit 4-of-9 shots for 14 points, four rebounds, five assists, two steals, a block and two 3-pointers in Wednesday's loss to the Grizzlies.

Advice: Despite the back issue, Lin has averaged 31 minutes, 13.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.2 3-pointers on 57 percent shooting over his last five games. And that's a vast improvement over his early-season struggles. Rotoworld.com

  • Zach LaVine plays OK in start on Wed.
Zach LaVine started in place on Mo Williams (illness) on Wednesday against the Bucks during a 103-86 loss, scoring 12 points with three rebounds, four assists, two steals, three turnovers and five fouls in 37 minutes.

Advice: Williams is not expected to be out much longer and will travel with the team. LaVine hasn't really done much to warrant more than 22 minutes per game and there are just going to be too many negatives to his fantasy value. Additionally, tonight was the first time in NBA history four teenagers, LaVine, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jabari Parker and Andrew Wiggins, were on the court at the same time. Rotoworld.com

  • Ginobili! Manu goes for season-high 28 in win
Manu Ginobili hit 10-of-18 shots, two 3-pointers and 6-of-7 free throws for a season-high 28 points, four rebounds and two assists in Wednesday's win over the Pacers.

Advice: There was no way to see this one coming, as he had totaled just 19 points over his last four games and hasn't scored more than 28 points in a game since last February. He ruined Danny Green tonight, but it's nice to know he can still produce on occasion. He's not trustworthy enough to be owned in most leagues, but is worth keeping an eye on. Rotoworld.com

  • Tony Parker scores 21, dominates Don Sloan
Tony Parker hit 8-of-16 shots and a 3-pointer for 21 points, four rebounds, six assists and a steal on Wednesday.

Advice: He also dominated Pacers' point guard Donald Sloan, who hit just 1-of-6 shots for three points after blowing up for 29 and a full stat line on Monday. Parker has now scored at least 21 in three straight games and is rolling, and the only thing that can seemingly slow him down right now is Gregg Popovich. Rotoworld.com

  • Boris Diaw awful in win over Pacers
Boris Diaw hit just 1-of-3 shots for two points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal in 33 minutes of Wednesday's win over the Pacers.

Advice: He also committed three turnovers in his worst game of the season. He had scored in double figures in his previous three games, but was scoring in single figures for most of the season prior to his hot streak. He's always worth a look in fantasy leagues, but is simply unreliable in the Spurs offense. Rotoworld.com

  • Copeland coping with fewer minutes for Indy
Chris Copeland came off the bench and played just 23 minutes to finish with 12 points, three rebounds, a steal and two 3-pointers on 4-of-10 shooting Wednesday.

Advice: David West is finally expected back on Friday from a severely sprained ankle as Copeland's minutes and production have been slipping. Once West is back, Copeland is probably waiver-wire material in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

  • Pacer C's Mahinmi, Allen quiet vs. Spurs
Ian Mahinmi started and had eight points, five rebounds, a steal and a block in Wednesday's loss to the Spurs, while Lavoy Allen came off the bench for eight points and nine rebounds.

Advice: The Pacers desperately need Roy Hibbert back from his sprained ankle and might have had a chance against the Spurs tonight if Hibbert played (and was effective). The two big men are holding down the fort, but neither can be relied upon in most fantasy situations. Hibbert remains day-to-day with his injury. Rotoworld.com

  • Luis Scola scores 13, but end of run is near
Luis Scola started and had 13 points and six rebounds on 5-of-12 shooting in Wednesday's loss to the Spurs.

Advice: Scola could be on his way out of the starting lineup soon if David West is really ready to play through his ankle injury on Friday. He might hold onto some value with Roy Hibbert also sitting with a sprained ankle, but when both West and Hibbert are healthy, it's hard to see Scola being worth owning in most leagues. Rotoworld.com

Lou Williams may have had a revenge game against the Hawks on Wednesday during a win, making 6-of-11 from the field for 22 points with two assists, three steals and four 3-pointers in 26 minutes.

Advice: He's so hot right now. Perhaps no bench player is performing at his level, averaging 24.3 points, 1.8 boards, 2.3 steals, 3.5 treys and 0.5 turnovers on 50.0 percent from the field and 96.4 percent from the line in his last four. James Johnson (illness) played 20 minutes against the Hawks on Wednesday with four points, one rebound, one assist, one steal and three blocks.

Advice: He was reportedly very ill, but Johnson takes great pride in calling himself Wolverine. He is doing a great job on the defensive side and he had a nice Euro step on the offensive end tonight, too. Johnson is a sneaky player to own in 14-team leagues. Rotoworld.com

  • Al Horford scores 23 on 16 shot attempts
Al Horford made 11-of-16 from the field for 23 points against the Raptors on Wednesday with nine rebounds, four assists and two blocks in 32 minutes.

Advice: He had foul trouble on Tuesday in one of his worst games of the year, but Horford is starting to see his shots go up. It's just the second time he's been over 20 points all season, and there should be more of those games as he gets into a rhythm. Even with the low scoring of 13.3 points per game, Horford was still putting up third-round value. Rotoworld.com

Tyson Chandler hauled in a season-high 25 rebounds on Wednesday, while making 7-of-12 shots to finish with 17 points, one steal and two blocks in 43 minutes vs. the Knicks.

Advice: Chandler was three boards shy of his career high and New York simply had no answer for him in the paint. "You can't always try to outscore the other team every single night," Chandler said before the game. "Some nights, you're going to rely on your defense." He did it all in this game, grabbing 10 of his boards on the offensive end, and he's been an absolute steal for fantasy owners through the Mavs' first 16 games. Rotoworld.com

Advice: He made 3-of-4 shots and it wasn't a total bust for fantasy owners, who should take his rare foul-plagued dud in stride. He'd scored double-digit points in four straight games prior to Tuesday and should begin a new streak vs. Toronto on Wednesday. Rotoworld.com

"But I feel like New York made me a lot stronger, a lot stronger of a person going through trials and tribulations there. But that's life." Advice: He's coming off the bench and is taking away a few minutes from Greivis Vasquez and Terrence Ross. Williams is a little bit like Nick Young except he does a little more than score -- he's obviously much worse in the sound-byte department, though. Advice: Blake Griffin dominated Marvin Williams in the early going, so Zeller picked up some extra playing time. Tony Parker is shooting 14-of-22 (63.6 percent) from behind the 3-point line this season.

Advice: Parker leads the NBA in 3-point field goal percentage. It's a small sample size, but it speaks to Parker's improvement in that area of his game. A career 32.1 percent shooter from distance, Parker's previous career-high was 39.5 percent back in 2006-07. Parker made just 25 3-pointers last season, and he's on pace to shatter that mark. Advice: He made 9-of-9 free throws in his first nine minutes alone, and this is an extreme example of the instant offense that Toronto was hoping he'd provide when they traded for him this summer. Tony Parker made all three attempts from 3-point range and 12-of-18 overall for 28 points against the Wolves on Friday with five assists and one turnover in just 25 minutes.

Advice: Amazingly, he is now making 68.4 percent from beyond the arc this season, which is more than double his career 32.0 percent from that range. Parker is going to have to handle a lot of minutes with Cory Joseph (ankle) at less than 100 percent, so he is actually a solid daily fantasy play against the Nets on Saturday. Rotoworld.com

  • Zach LaVine scores seven off bench
Zach LaVine scored seven points with two rebounds, three assists, two steals and one 3-pointer in 20 minutes against the Spurs on Friday.

Advice: He had three turnovers tonight and has an assist:turnover ratio below one in his last four games. Plus, he's shooting just 33 percent on the season. LaVine has a lot to learn and is not worth owning in almost any league. Rotoworld.com

  • Joseph leaves game with ankle sprain
Cory Joseph left Friday's game with a mild left ankle sprain and did not return.

Advice: Joseph has played well in a backup role but as usual if he misses any time the rest of the rotation will absorb the minutes without a clear winner. He walked out of the arena under his own power and wasn't ready to rule himself out for Saturday's game. Rotoworld.com

  • James Johnson still out on Friday night
James Johnson (ankle) will not play against the Bucks on Friday.

Advice: He is expected to miss more games, but he has been on the practice court in a limited capacity. Terrence Ross and Patrick Patterson will get some more run tonight. Rotoworld.com

  • Diaw is starting again on Friday night
Boris Diaw is starting again on Friday night against the Wolves.

Advice: He is coming off his best game of the season and it was fairly obvious he was going to start tonight. Diaw probably won't be as great, but he's someone to consider in standard leagues against a weak Wolves team. Rotoworld.com

  • James Johnson (ankle) sheds walking boot
James Johnson (ankle) was moving well without a walking boot after the Raptors' practice on Thursday.

Advice: The Raptors' defensive specialist and energizer is questionable for Friday's home game vs. the Bucks. It wouldn't be surprising to see him held out another game as a precaution, but we'll have a much clearer idea of his status after shootaround. Rotoworld.com

  • Jeremy Lin doesn't get his revenge
Jeremy Lin didn't get his revenge game against the Rockets on Wednesday with three points, four assists, one steal, one block and five turnovers.

Advice: Patrick Beverley's defense trumps a revenge game almost every time. Lin should be better his next time out, but he did lose some minutes at point guard, which will be worth watching. Rotoworld.com

  • Zach LaVine still struggling off bench
Zach LaVine came off the bench against the Knicks on Wednesday with two points, one rebound, two assists and no turnovers on 1-of-5 from the field.

Advice: He's been awful in his five games since the Ricky Rubio injury, averaging 6.4 points, 3.2 boards, 3.2 assists 0.2 steals and 2.6 turnovers on 32.4 percent from the field. LaVine is too raw to be counted on in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

  • Tyson Chandler with 16 rebounds, 3 blocks
Tyson Chandler scored just five points, but added 16 rebounds, a steal and three blocks in Wednesday's win over the Wizards.

Advice: He's a rebounding machine right now and is averaging 10.8 points, 12.4 rebounds and 1.6 blocks over his last five games, despite tonight's scoring dud. Rotoworld.com
    Wednesday, 9:21 pm
  • Chris Copeland's minutes take a hit
Chris Copeland played just 27 minutes against the Hornets on Wednesday with six points, two rebounds and two assists.

Advice: His minutes took a significant hit with Rodney Stuckey returning tonight after a 39-minute game in his last outing. Copeland is struggling from the field and has hit just 34.0 percent in his last five, averaging 9.0 points, 3.0 boards, 1.2 assists, 0.4 steals and 1.8 triples in that span. If you're eyeing another hot free agent, Copeland is not a must-own player anymore. Rotoworld.com

  • Brandon Bass scores season-high 23 in win
Brandon Bass hit 9-of-13 shots for a season-high 23 points, six rebounds, a steal and a block in Wednesday's win over the Sixers.

Advice: Bass had only hit double digits in scoring in two games this season prior to tonight and doesn't belong on fantasy rosters. Rotoworld.com

  • Tony Parker's struggles continue in win
Tony Parker played 34 minutes, but hit just 2-of-7 shots for eight points and three assists in Wednesday's win over the Cavs.

Advice: Parker's season is off to a tumultuous start and he's scored 11 or fewer points in four straight games. He's averaging 16 points and five assists on the season, but he tends to sit any time the Spurs play an inferior opponent. And even against teams like the Kings and Cavs over the last week, he's been disappointing. Parker has only hit the 20-point plateau three times in 11 games and his owners could be in for a long season, with Gregg Popovich focused solely on the postseason health of his players. • Boris Diaw shines as Spurs beat Cavs
Boris Diaw played a team-high 39 minutes and hit 8-of-14 shots and a 3-pointer for 19 points, six rebounds, seven assists, three steals and a block in Wednesday's big win over the Cavaliers.

Advice: That's fantasy gold, right there, but the minutes were a big reason. Diaw normally gets 26 a night, but with Matt Bonner out, Diaw was a featured player for Gregg Popovich. This was his first double-digit scoring night since Nov. 5 and he's averaging 7.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 0.6 steals, 0.6 blocks and 0.5 3-pointers, meaning he's probably not worth owning in your league. But this is your sign to keep a close eye on him going forward, in case tonight was the start of a hot streak. Rotoworld.com

  • Zach LaVine shifts to Wolves bench vs. Knicks
Zach LaVine will come off the bench on Wednesday with Mo Williams taking over as the starting PG.

Advice: LaVine started the past four games but they were all Minnesota losses, and coach Flip Saunders has apparently seen enough of his rookie as the full-time starter. Neither LaVine nor Williams have had reliable value in Ricky Rubio's absence, but Williams is worth a long look now that he's running with the first unit. Rotoworld.com

  • Boris Diaw is starting for Spurs
Boris Diaw will start against the Cavs on Wednesday.

Advice: He has usually been brought off the bench, but the Spurs are without Matt Bonner (illness) and Tiago Splitter (calf). Diaw did a nice job on LeBron last year in the Finals and will likely get more minutes than usual. Rotoworld.com

  • James Johnson won't play vs. Memphis
James Johnson (ankle) will not play against the Grizzlies on Wednesday.

Advice: He is in a walking boot and does not have a timetable to return. Johnson is a tough customer, but the Raptors will likely be careful based on how things went with Amir Johnson's ankle last season. Expect more Terrence Ross and Patrick Patterson tonight. Rotoworld.com

  • Jeremy Lin bounces back w/ 15 pts, 10 dimes
Jeremy Lin bounced back from Sunday's scoreless dud, scoring 15 points with one 3-pointer, three rebounds, two steals and a season-high 10 assists in Tuesday's win in Atlanta.

Advice: Lin is off to a quiet start this season, averaging 11.7 points on 43.2 percent shooting, while attempting only 8.1 shots per game. Those are all the lowest numbers since his rookie season in 2010-11 and owners should strive to be patient, as tonight's game is a timely reminder of his upside as the Lakers' unquestioned starting PG. • Al Horford shoots 7-of-8 in tough home loss
Al Horford made 7-of-8 field goals on Tuesday, including one 3-pointer, to finish a tough loss vs. L.A. with 15 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two turnovers in 30 minutes.

Advice: Horford hasn't played 30+ minutes or taken 10+ shots in any of the Hawks' past four games. He's averaging just 13.7 points and 6.7 rebounds this season but he's likely just off to a slow start after missing many months following pectoral surgery. Fantasy owners should view this is a buy-low opportunity for Horford, who will need to play a bigger role for Atlanta to emerge as a legitimate playoff threat. Rotoworld.com

  • Tony Parker plays just 18 minutes in easy win
Tony Parker played just 18 minutes in a blowout win over the 76ers on Monday, scoring five points with five assists, three steals and one 3-pointer.

Advice: The Spurs will play a desperate Cavs team on Wednesday in Cleveland and maybe that's why coach Gregg Popovich took it easy on his veterans tonight. Parker will be fine on Wednesday night. Rotoworld.com

  • Cory Joseph has a nice game on Monday night
Cory Joseph scored 14 points with five rebounds, two assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 26 minutes against the 76ers on Monday.

Advice: He's scored in double-digits in three of his last four games with 1.3 steals and 3.0 dimes per game in that span. Obviously Joseph isn't going to light it up, but he's playing really well for owners in deep leagues. Plus, it's clear he'll be given plenty of chances should Tony Parker ever miss time.
