    • James Harden offers little in Game 5 blowout loss
      James Harden played 33 minutes in Wednesday’s 123-93 loss to the Mavericks, accounting for seven points (2-of-12 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), four rebounds, seven assists, and one 3-pointer.

      Advice: After shining in Sunday’s Game 4 victory, Harden put up an absolute stinker in Game 5. He finished with more turnovers (four) than made field goals (two), failing to reach double figures in a postseason game for the first time since Game 7 of the 76ers’ second-round loss to the Celtics last season.       Jayson Tatum logged 32 minutes in Wednesday’s 118-84 win over Miami, finishing with 16 points (4-of-9 FGs, 6-of-9 FTs), 12 rebounds, three assists, one block, and two 3-pointers.

      Advice: The only people upset about Tatum’s performance may be bettors who placed money on his overs and DFS players hoping for a big night. Boston opened up an 18-point lead by the end of the first quarter, and things would only get worse for the visiting Heat in the series clincher. Derrick White and Jaylen Brown scored 25 points, and Boston’s reward is a few days off ahead of the second round.       Carter closed Tuesday's 104-103 loss to the Cavaliers in Game 5 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs with seven points (3-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 11 rebounds, two assists, three blocks and one steal across 33 minutes.

      Advice: Despite a quiet night offensively, Carter still had a big impact on the game, particularly on the boards and the defensive end.       Advice: Facing elimination, the Heat will be without three key rotation pieces in Boston. Rozier and Jimmy Butler (knee) remain sidelined, with Jaime Jaquez Jr. (hip) joining them on the sideline after injuring his hip during Monday’s Game 4 defeat. Caleb Martin will remain in the starting lineup, while Tyler Herro will continue to shoulder a heavy workload.       Advice: Hachimura scored in double figures for the first time during the opening-round series, but it wasn't enough as the Lakers were bounced from the playoffs by the Nuggets for a second consecutive season. From Feb. 9 through April 16, Hachimura averaged 16.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steals-plus-blocks in 31.4 minutes. He excelled as a starter during the regular season, but Hachimura's poor postseason may impact his role next season. He signed a three-year, $51 million deal with the Lakers last summer.     • Anthony Davis finishes with 17/15/4 line in loss
      Anthony Davis recorded a double-double on Monday with 17 points (8-of-11 FGs), 15 rebounds, four assists and two blocks against Denver in Game 5.

      Advice: After a strong first half, AD exited the game briefly due to a left shoulder injury. While he was able to play through it, he really wasn’t the same player after that. 16 of his 17 points came before halftime, and if he stayed healthy, the result of this game may have been different. AD has been banged up all season, but he was still able to play a career-high 77 games. Davis has been knocked in fantasy hoops over the last few years by his lack of games played, but he may have flipped the script this season.     • Battles through shoulder injury
      Davis suffered a left shoulder injury during the third quarter of Monday's Game 5 against the Nuggets but was able to return after visiting the locker room. He recorded 17 points (8-11 FG, 1-2 FT), 15 rebounds, four assists and two blocks across 40 minutes in the loss.

      Advice: Davis suffered the injury early in the third quarter on a play during which he took contact to his left shoulder, and though he was able to remain in the contest immediately afterward, he was barely able to use his left arm. The 31-year-old exited the game with four minutes left in the third quarter and went to the locker room, later returning for the final period. The injury seemed to impact Davis on the offensive end of the court, forcing LeBron James and Austin Reaves to shoulder heavy workloads down the stretch.       Advice: Tatum didn’t have his best shooting night, but he was still able to make an impact in a convincing win that puts them up 3-1 in the series. He has shot below 40% in the three games that they have won this series, so his below average shooting nights haven’t hurt the team much. With Kristaps Porzingis exiting early due to what could be an Achilles injury, Tatum may have to continue to provide them with high level rebounding numbers for the remainder of the series.
