He still shot 50% from the field and played 37 minutes despite some foul trouble, but navigating the balance between scoring and deferring to Leonard at times will be one of the most significant subplots for the remainder of this series. This was Williams' best scoring performance since March 31, when he scored 33 points in a win over the Knicks just before missing four contests with an ankle injury.       Advice: McCollum didn't have his best shooting display Sunday, an issue that has been plaguing him for some time now. He also executed poorly in the final play of the game, where the Pelicans could've gone for a tie or a win. The veteran guard still ended as one of the top scorers for the Pelicans -- a positive sign after he scored a combined 16 points while shooting 7-for-23 in his two Play-In Tournament appearances.       Advice: Neither of New Orleans’ top two available scorers performed well in Game 1, with McCollum and Brandon Ingram (12/6/3/0/1 in 37 minutes) shooting a combined 14-of-39 from the field. The former had a chance to win the game in the final seconds, but his leaner from beyond the arc went long. Oklahoma City has multiple wing defenders capable of giving the Pelicans trouble, beginning with Luguentz Dort, and rookie Cason Wallace guarded McCollum well on the final possession. With Zion Williamson (hamstring) not being evaluated for another two weeks, McCollum and Ingram will have to do most of the heavy lifting if the Pelicans are to have any chance of winning the series.       Advice: The 94 points were the fewest Oklahoma City has scored in a win this season, but they all count just the same. Williams did everything except block a shot, but the rebounds, assists (tied for most on the team), and steals were quality for those who rostered JDub in DFS tournaments. He was one of only three Thunder players to finish in double figures, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren being the others. That trio will have to do a lot of the heavy lifting in the postseason, with their teammates chipping in at timely moments. Game 2 of the series is on Wednesday night.
