  • Josh Smith doesn't score in nine minutes
Josh Smith missed all four shots from the field with two rebounds and one turnover in nine minutes against the Blazers on Saturday.

Advice: The milk has gone bad for Smith, who has really just turned in one good game in his last four. The Rockets are really embracing the small-ball look, so that is bad news for Smith while Dwight Howard is healthy. He's not a great option. Rotoworld.com 39 minutes ago
  • James Harden scores 33, hurts right hand
James Harden suffered an apparent minor right hand injury on Saturday, finishing with 33 points, eight rebounds, three assists, three steals, one block, four 3-pointers and 10 turnovers.

Advice: He had ice on his hand for most of the fourth quarter because the Rockets were blown out tonight. Harden did play through his hand issue for a few minutes before going to the bench, so chances are this is minor. He also took the ice pack off his hand for the final two minutes. For now, there shouldn't be much concern, but you never know when it comes to a hand injury. We'll pass along any info if he needs an X-ray. Rotoworld.com 48 minutes ago
  • Brandan Wright does pre-game routine
Brandan Wright (knee) did some pre-game work on Saturday and could return after the break.

Advice: There have not been many updates on Wright, so it's good to see he's coming around. He has a decent upside, but won't have much value while Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol are healthy. Rotoworld.com Today, 4:01 pm
  • Martin, Pekovic and Garnett out Saturday
Kevin Martin (wrist), Kevin Garnett (knee) and Nikola Pekovic (foot, ankle) will not play on Saturday against the Bulls.

Advice: These guys are not close to a return. Martin may have played his last minutes with the Wolves as the trade deadline approaches. Zach LaVine will get close to 30 minutes tonight and is worth owning in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Today, 3:36 pm
  • Dante Cunningham will start, Gee to bench
Dante Cunningham will start on Saturday vs. the Cavaliers, sending Alonzo Gee to the bench.

Advice: The Pelicans have lost three straight games, so coach Alvin Gentry is looking to shake things up. Cunningham isn't very involved in the offense and has very little upside, so he's safe to ignore in most leagues. Gee can be dropped almost everywhere. Rotoworld.com Today, 3:13 pm
  • Richaun Holmes ruled out
Richaun Holmes (ankle) will not play against the Nets on Saturday.

Advice: He was always expected to miss this game and now it's official. We barely saw lineup combos with Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor on Friday, which will probably continue tonight. Holmes isn't a fantasy option. Rotoworld.com Today, 3:01 pm
  • Kevin Love (quad) will not play on Saturday
Kevin Love (quad) will not play on Saturday against the Pelicans.

Advice: It's a quad contusion from Friday night, which he was unable to return from in the loss. With Love out, the Cavs will likely be giving more minutes to Tristan Thompson and Timofey Mozgov. Interestingly, Kyrie Irving's usage rate is 31.6 without Love and with LeBron James, so he has a nice chance tonight. Rotoworld.com Today, 2:51 pm
  • Jordan Hill moving to the bench
Jordan Hill will come off the bench on Saturday against the Pistons.

Advice: He lost all his momentum on Friday and his playing time should drop quite a bit tonight. If you still have Hill on your roster, it's time to start thinking about dropping him. Rotoworld.com Today, 2:26 pm
  • Rudy Gay (ankle) doubtful vs. Boston
Rudy Gay (ankle) is doubtful to play against the Celtics on Sunday.

Advice: He rolled his ankle on Friday and did not return. The Kings will desperately need Gay to help save Karl's job, but that might not happen. If Gay doesn't play, Omri Casspi should get the start and get a chance to rebound from a rough stretch. Darren Collison and Marco Belinelli should also benefit. Rotoworld.com Today, 1:43 pm

  • Martin, Garnett and Pekovic are all doubtful
Kevin Martin (wrist), Kevin Garnett and Nikola Pekovic (foot) are all doubtful for Saturday's game vs. the Bulls.

Advice: To be clear, none of them will play and the Wolves should've just listed them as out. Martin may not play again until the trade deadline, and by that by point he might be wearing a different uniform. He's not worth stashing in most leagues, while Zach LaVine will continue to benefit in his absence. Rotoworld.com Today, 10:34 am
  • Watson praises Orlando Johnson
Suns coach Earl Watson spoke highly of newly-acquired guard Orlando Johnson.

Advice: "He plays with his heart like [P.J. Tucker]," Watson said. "He’s athletic. He’s shooting the ball well from 3 right now. But what we need more than anything right now is like-minded players. He has a like-minded attitude coming from the Spurs program. You know the attitude he’s going to have. He’s going to play the right way." Johnson is on a 10-day deal and will look to impress the Suns during Saturday's game vs. the Jazz. He's not on the fantasy radar for now. Rotoworld.com Today, 8:29 am
  • Bickerstaff praises Corey Brewer
Rockets coach J.B. Bickerstaff said that Corey Brewer is "disruptive" on the defensive end.

Advice: "He's disruptive," Bickerstaff said. "When he's able to get steals, that's when his offense starts. His offense starts on the defensive end of the court. It's a steal for us. It's a defensive rebound for us and then it's a quick outlet. When we're getting stops, that's when [Brewer] is at his best." Brewer scored 24 points against the Suns on Thursday and is still starting at small forward, but he was struggling prior to that game. Unless he does this again, he's better suited for deeper leagues. Rotoworld.com Today, 7:57 am
  • Sam Dekker (back) is progressing well
Sam Dekker (back) is still on track to begin full-contact practices in mid-February.

Advice: "Everything is on schedule so far," Dekker said. "I can't wait." Coach J.B. Biskerstaff also sounded encouraged by the rookie's recent progress. "He's upped his workload," Bickerstaff said. "He hasn't had any setbacks. That's been positive. He's moving in the direction we like to see him going." Dekker likely won't be a big part of the rotation this season, so he's only worth keeping an eye on in deeper leagues. Rotoworld.com Today, 7:53 am
  • P.J. Tucker doesn't want a trade
P.J. Tucker is hopeful that the Suns will not trade him.

Advice: "I love being in Phoenix," Tucker said. "It’s been my longest stop of my career and hopefully it continues." Tucker is on the last year of his deal and the Suns are tanking, so he should draw plenty of interest prior to the Feb. 18 trade deadline. The Raptors have been linked with the swingman, but a move to Toronto would be bad news for his fantasy value. To be clear, nothing is imminent. Rotoworld.com Today, 6:51 am
  • Report: LAC are not shopping Blake Griffin
According to Dan Woike of the Orange County Register, the Clippers are not shopping Blake Griffin.

Advice: Teams have inquired about Griffin, but the Clippers still believe that they can win this season and they aren't interested in making a move. There were reports on Friday that the Clippers had discussions with Denver and Philly, but the talks obviously never made it out of the rumor stage. Expect Griffin to remain with the Clippers. • Charlie Villanueva scores 16 points in loss
Charlie Villanueva scored 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting Friday, to go with six boards, three assists, one 3-pointer and three turnovers in 23 minutes.

Advice: Villanueva got some extra run tonight with the game well out of reach by halftime, and with the Mavs on a back-to-back set, CV could potentially enter the starting lineup on Saturday if Rick Carlisle elects to rest Dirk Nowitzki. If that's the case, Villanueva could be worth a punt play in DFS, although there's no reason to swoop him up in season-long settings. Rotoworld.com Today, 12:00 am
  • Justin Anderson scores 13 points w/ two treys
Justin Anderson actually got into the rotation due to the blowout nature of Friday's game, and produced 13 points and two 3-pointers in 18 minutes of action.

Advice: Anderson shot 4-of-7 from the field and also pulled down three boards, but he's a negligible part of the rotation more often than not. We'll need to see him earning consistent minutes before recommending him as an add in any league. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 11:56 pm
  • Wesley Matthews scores four points in 23 mins
Wesley Matthews couldn't get anything going during Friday's blowout loss to the Spurs, tallying just four points on 2-of-5 shooting with one rebound, two assists, one block and one turnover in 23 minutes.

Advice: The Mavs were blown out badly in this one, and the game was essentially over after the first-quarter. Wesley was noticeably upset after the game saying it was the most "embarrassing game" he's ever been a part of "at any level." Matthews has been struggling over the past month, knocking down just 34.5 percent of his shots, and it might not get any better any time soon with Dallas set to play Memphis on Saturday and Utah on Tuesday. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 11:23 pm
  • LaMarcus Aldridge double-doubles w/ two swats
LaMarcus Aldridge double-doubled during Friday's easy win over the Mavs, tallying 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting to go with 10 boards, two assists, two steals, two blocks and one turnover in 28 minutes.

Advice: Aldridge has been playing extremely well since Tim Duncan (knee) went down, producing averages of 20.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 2.0 blocks and just 1.5 turnovers per game which has been good enough for top-20 value in standard leagues. However, Aldridge has never averaged more than 1.2 swats per game, so now seems like a good sell-high opportunity for a guy that's producing unsustainable numbers. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:47 pm
  • Derrick Favors double-doubles with five block
Derrick Favors scored 11 points with 15 rebounds, one assist, two steals and five blocks in 32 minutes against the Bucks on Friday.

Advice: Teammate Joe Ingles does commercials for mattresses, so one would think every mattress store around Salt Lake City would be calling Favors' agent. The big man is changing his mattress to fix his back problems and he's been rolling with second-round value in his last four. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:26 pm
  • Danny Green scores eight points w/ two treys
Danny Green scored eight points on 3-of-8 shooting Friday, to go with two 3-pointers, four boards, one assist and one turnover in 27 minutes.

Advice: Mr. Green has become elite at following up productive outing with meaningless stat lines, although he has managed to produce fifth-round value in 9-cat leagues over the past two weeks with averages of 9.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.7 three-pointers on 45.7 percent shooting. He can be truly infuriating to own, but with the upward trend, he's a hold in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:22 pm
  • Danilo Gallinari snuffs Bulls, scores 33
Danilo Gallinari scored a season-high 33 points during a 115-110 win over the Bulls on Friday with three rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer in 35 minutes.

Advice: He made all 18 attempts from the line and killed the Bulls with his slow-mo style of scoring. Gallinari is the first player to take at least 18 attempts from the line and make all of them since Kobe Bryant in 2013. He was cooling off a bit before this one and only has sixth-round value in his last 10, but expect him to trend up. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:12 pm
  • J.R. Smith drains five triples, swats a shot
J.R. Smith drained five more triples during Friday's heartbreaking loss to the Celtics, to go with 20 points, three rebounds, one assist, one block and three turnovers in 33 minutes.

Advice: Swish did pick up a questionable foul during the closing minutes of the game, which essentially cost Cleveland the win, but at least his stats were nice. He's been a mid-round guy over the past month, and he's fully capable of going stretches producing early-round value. The horrendous start is a distant memory. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:54 pm
  • Jeff Green scores 16 points vs. Knicks
Jeff Green scored 16 points with five rebounds, two assists, one steal and no turnovers in 29 minutes against the Knicks in Friday's win.

Advice: He just thrives in wins and he's found his role off the bench. He's pretty close to his peak and he's putting up sixth-round value in his last 10 games. Green is a hold in all leagues, but selling high makes sense. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:26 pm
  • Evan Turner double-doubles in 32 minutes
Evan Turner double-doubled in 32 minutes off the bench during Friday's win over the Cavs, tallying 19 points on 8-of-16 shooting with 12 boards, six assists, one block and one turnover.

Advice: Jae Crowder (ankle) said after the game that he felt like he was playing on one leg, so he may be forced to the sidelines on Sunday vs. Sacramento, which would likely result in Turner returning to the starting lineup. While Evan isn't the most exciting guy to own, he's been producing late-round value over the past month behind averages of 9.6 points, 4.5 boards, 4.8 assists and 1.0 steal on 48.5 percent shooting. He's worth owning in most leagues, particularly with Crowder hurting. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:21 pm
  • Thaddeus Young lights up Kings
Thaddeus Young scored 14 points with 14 rebounds, seven assists and two steals in 39 minutes against the Kings on Friday.

Advice: He's finally on the right track again coming off a 16-point, 14-board game. The Nets handed out 29 assists and Thad's seven were a season high. He should be back to being a top-50 guy going forward. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:16 pm
  • Rudy Gay (left ankle) questionable Sunday
Rudy Gay has been diagnosed with a sprained left ankle, and he will be listed as day-to-day moving forward.

Advice: X-rays on Gay's left ankle came back negative, and it looks like he'll be questionable for Sacramento's upcoming back-to-back set Sunday vs. Boston and Monday vs. Cleveland. If he's forced into an extended absence, Omri Casspi, Willie Cauley-Stein and Darren Collison will benefit, with Casspi likely returning to the starting five. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 8:24 pm

  • Kevin Love (thigh) hopeful to play Saturday
Kevin Love (left thigh) said that he's hopeful to play Saturday vs. the Pelicans.

Advice: Love was able to limp out of the arena under his own power, and said he was "okay," and owners can expect to get another update on Saturday. If Love is unable to play tomorrow, Tristan Thompson would get all the run he can handle, with Kyrie Irving doing a bit more on offense. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 8:10 pm
  • Jordan Hill scores three points in loss
Jordan Hill scored three points with eight rebounds, three assists and one steal in 28 minutes against the Hawks on Friday.

Advice: As great as he's been lately, he's still Jordan Hill. He scored just six points in Wednesday and is clearly trending down. If there is a hot pickup out there, Hill's owners shouldn't be too tied to keeping him. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:22 pm
  • Kevin Love exits game with left thigh bruise
Kevin Love was forced out of Friday's game after suffering a eft thigh bruise, and he will not return.

Advice: Love was able to limp his way to the locker room under his own power, but he looked to be in quite a bit of pain. He'll end his night with 10 points, five boards, two assists, one block and two 3-pointers, and if he's forced into an extended absence, Tristan Thompson will be the primary beneficiary. It's safe to say that Love does not love playing against the Celtics. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 6:23 pm
  • Rudy Gay (ankle) out for game vs. Nets
Rudy Gay (left ankle) will not return on Friday.

Advice: He tweaked his left ankle in the first quarter and tried to play through it, but it just wasn't feeling right for him. Omri Casspi will get a bump in minutes while Willie Cauley-Stein will play more, too. Darren Collison is also playing well tonight. Gay finished with two points, one rebound and one assist. • Rudy Gay exits Friday w/ left ankle injury
Rudy Gay exited Friday's game after turning his left ankle and has returned.

Advice: Gay walked off under his own power and might be able to return after having the ankle re-taped. It looks like he is fine. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 4:51 pm

  • Kevin Martin (wrist) questionable Saturday
Kevin Martin (wrist) is officially questionable to play vs. the Bulls on Saturday.

Advice: Martin has missed six straight games, he hasn't logged 30 minutes in a contest since early December, and Sam Mitchell said recently that he wasn't close to returning. The Wolves' only incentive to play him at less than 100 percent would be to showcase him for a potential trade -- he's not a desirable fantasy asset unless he lands in an ideal situation. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 4:44 pm
  • Blake Griffin had second procedure on hand
Blake Griffin (hand) underwent a second procedure this week on his broken right hand, according to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

Advice: According to Shelburne, "the procedure was a part of the original surgery last week, so sources said the 4-6 week timeframe for his return remains unchanged." This has been a very odd situation for Blake and he's going to receive some additional punishment once he's back. Wes Johnson has been the best pickup and could hold nice value this month. Additionally, enjoy the Blake trade rumors. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 3:37 pm

  • Report: PHI showing interest in Blake Griffin
The 76ers had discussions with the Clippers about Blake Griffin, according to Sam Amico of FOX Sports Ohio.

Advice: OK. First and foremost, a discussion about a trade doesn't seem like much. Secondly, the 76ers dealing for Griffin would be one of the most shocking developments of all time. For now, it's safe to assume this won't happen. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 12:10 pm

  • Martin, Garnett & Pekovic not close to return
Coach Sam Mitchell said the Kevin Martin (wrist), Kevin Garnett (knee) and Nikola Pekovic (ankle, foot) are not close to returning.

Advice: "I love the way we're playing right now," Mitchell said. In other words, those guys are basically out of the rotation. This is terrific news for Zach LaVine and Gorgui Dieng. Martin is on the trade block for next to nothing and will need to be dealt to have value. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 11:30 am
  • LAC had talks with DEN about Blake Griffin?
The Clippers reportedly discussed a Blake Griffin trade with the Nuggets according to Mitch Lawrence of Sirius XM Radio.

Advice: It's not clear what pieces were involved in the reported talks, but it would likely take a massive offer from the Nuggets to get the ball rolling. Nothing is imminent by any means, so take this report with a grain of salt until we hear something more concrete. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 11:09 am

  • Richaun Holmes (ankle) to miss two games
Richaun Holmes sprained his ankle in practice and is expected to miss the next two games.

Advice: This means he will not play on Friday vs. the Wizards or Saturday against the Nets. The rookie has had some tough luck with injuries this season, but there's not many fantasy implications because he usually just plays minutes in the teens. Carl Landry and Jerami Grant could each pick up a few extra minutes. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 8:35 am
  • Suns signing Orlando Johnson
The Suns will sign Orlando Johnson to a 10-day deal.

Advice: The Suns have no healthy point guards on their roster and are playing three shooting guards and P.J. Tucker out of position. This season Johnson is averaging 15.2 points, 5.1 boards, 2.7 assists, 0.5 steals and 1.9 treys with the Austin Spurs this year. He's 26 years old, was a second-round pick in 2012 and hasn't been in the NBA since 2013-14. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 11:21 pm
  • Dante Cunningham gets 32 minutes
Dante Cunningham missed his one attempt from the field and went 1-of-2 from the line for one point with five rebounds, two assists and one block in 32 minutes against the Lakers on Thursday.

Advice: His minutes went up because the non-Jrue Holiday point guards were awful. Cunningham played some small forward tonight, but obviously he's not getting enough shots to matter in almost any league. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 9:46 pm
  • James Harden scores just 17 points
James Harden was quiet during a 111-105 win over the Suns on Thursday, scoring 17 points with nine rebounds, six assists, two steals and two 3-pointers on 4-of-19 from the field.

Advice: Interestingly, coach J.B. Bickerstaff pulled all of his starters four minutes into the the game because of sloppy play. They obviously turned it around, though. Harden usually lights up the Suns and he is also solid on the road, so this is a shocking letdown. He'll be fine and should be a top-five player going forward in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 9:30 pm
  • Corey Brewer scores game-high 24 points
Corey Brewer scored a game-high 24 points against Suns on Thursday with one assist, four steals and three 3-pointers in 25 minutes.

Advice: The Rockets scored 26 points in fast break, so that kind of output there is right up Brewer's alley. In his previous starts, Brewer only has averages of 9.6 points, 3.4 boards, 1.9 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.8 treys on 38.8 percent from the field. If you want to ride him while he's played better, hopefully you're not dropping anything of value. He's not an add in standard leagues yet. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 9:15 pm
  • Clippers could punish Blake?
Owner Steve Ballmer said "there needs to be consequences" for Blake Griffin's incident last week.

Advice: "It's the right thing to do," Ballmer said. The league is also looking at a punishment for Blake, so he might get at least a game or two. He is out for this month and could make it back for next month. Wes Johnson has been the best pickup by far. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 4:12 pm

  • LaMarcus Aldridge feeling like old self again
LaMarcus Aldridge was back to feeling like his old self after Wednesday's win over the Pelicans.

Advice: Aldridge scored a season-high 36 points against the Pelicans on Wednesday and said he's feeling like his old slef again. "The ball’s been going in," Aldridge said. "Taking the shots and making them, playing more confident, more like myself, and I think the team has fed off that energy." While Aldridge isn't providing the returns his fantasy owners expected, his last two games could go a long way towards getting his value back on track. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 9:27 am
  • LaMarcus Aldridge scores season-high 36
LaMarcus Aldridge scored a season-high 36 points against the Pelicans during a 110-97 win on Wednesday, adding six rebounds, one assist, one steal and three blocks.

Advice: He was 12-of-20 from the field and made all 12 free throws. Aldridge is coming off a season-high 28 from Monday and he's rolling in his last four, averaging 26.0 points, 5.5 boards, 1.5 assists and 2.0 blocks on 64.9 percent from the field. He'll cool off, but this is nice to see for those who overspent on him. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 10:38 pm
  • Danny Green scores 16 points in 39 minutes
Danny Green scored 16 points with seven rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block and four 3-pointers in a season-high 39 minutes against the Pelicans on Wednesday.

Advice: Green did not hit the 30-minute mark in any game since Jan. 8, so this is a shock. He has more ups and downs than an entire amusement park of roller coasters, but Green is putting up value. In 2016, he has put up sixth-round value in his last 15 games, so it's hard to complain too much. Keep him owned in all leagues and remember not to complain to your friends too much about the bad Green nights. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 10:01 pm
  • Derrick Favors drops 16-11-6 in win
Derrick Favors had 16 points, 11 rebounds and six blocks on 7-of-14 shooting in Wednesday's win over the Nuggets.

Advice: He's played 30-plus minutes in each of his last three games, and it looks like he's back and good to go. That was a long month that he was listed as day-to-day with his back injury, so let's just quietly hope he stays healthy the rest of the way. He's averaging 15.0 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in his five games since returning from the injury. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 9:41 pm
  • Thaddeus Young comes through with 16 & 14
Thaddeus Young broke out of a funk and had 16 points and 14 rebounds in 35 minutes in Wednesday's loss to the Pacers.

Advice: He didn't do much else, but this was just his third double-double since Jan. 15. He's still a candidate for steals on most nights and we're hoping this is a sign that he's ready to start racking up solid fantasy stats again. He had just eight points and five rebounds in his previous game. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 8:09 pm
  • J.R. Smith makes four 3s, gets four steals
J.R. Smith shot just 5-of-14 from the field on Wednesday, scoring 14 points, but four of his makes came from downtown and he added a season-high-tying four steals.

Advice: Smith also chipped in three rebounds and a block without any turnovers, enough to pacify most fantasy owners. He's a streaky scorer and occasional duds are to be expected, but the 12th-year guard is anchoring his value with 2.4 triples and 1.1 steals per game. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 7:12 pm
  • Kevin Love cools off but still double-doubles
Kevin Love cooled off vs. Charlotte on Wednesday with 12 points on 4-of-12 shooting, including a 2-of-7 mark from downtown.

Advice: It wasn't a total loss, as Love added 12 rebounds, two steals, two blocks and one assist in 36 minutes. This snaps an eight-game streak of double-digit scoring for Love, tying his season high, and he's still been a top-30 option (9-cat) since the start of 2016. He'll look to bounce back vs. the visiting Celtics on Friday. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 7:09 pm
  • Martin, Garnett and Pekovic all out vs. Clips
Kevin Martin (wrist), Kevin Garnett (knee) and Nikola Pekovic (foot) will not play against the Clippers on Wednesday.

Advice: The severity of Martin's injury isn't known, but he might not even be in the rotation upon his return anyway. Leave him on the wire. Zach LaVine should get 30 minutes or so and is worth holding in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 6:09 pm
  • Kevin Martin (wrist) questionable vs. LAC
Kevin Martin (wrist) is questionable to play against the Clippers on Wednesday.

Advice: He was questionable for Tuesday and did not play. Martin has been out since Jan. 23 and he's also very likely to be traded. If he does play, Zach LaVine may play a little less. Martin is probably closer to doubtful for this one. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 11:34 am
  • Sam Dekker (back) looks good at shootaround
Sam Dekker (back) was reportedly moving around "pretty good" during Wednesday morning's shootaround, according to Calvin Watkins of ESPN.

Advice: Dekker underwent back surgery back in November but he's hopeful to get back on the court some time after the All-Star break. However, the rookie won't be a major part of the rotation upon his return, and he can safely remain on the waiver wire in all re-draft leagues. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 10:52 am
  • Report: Toronto interested in P.J. Tucker
The Raptors have reportedly expressed interest in trading for P.J. Tucker.

Advice: It makes sense as the Raptors’ small forwards have been ravished by injuries, although Tucker would lose a lot of value in Toronto once DeMarre Carroll (knee) is able to get back on the court. It's unclear exactly what assets the Raptors would send to the Suns in order to make this deal happen, but Stein reports that Phoenix is likely seeking a "nice" draft pick as compensation. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 10:45 am
  • James Harden hands out season-high 14 dimes
James Harden hit 10-of-19 shots and three 3-pointers on his way to 26 points, four rebounds, a season-high 14 assists, two steals and a block in Tuesday's win over the Heat.

Advice: It wasn't a 40-point bomb like he dropped on Saturday, but it was pretty darn good. And don't look now, but he's hit at least half his shots in four of his last five games. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 8:24 pm
  • Josh Smith scores 19 in start at center
Josh Smith started at center with Dwight Howard suspended and Clint Capela out with a thigh injury, and hit 8-of-13 shots and three 3-pointers for 19 points, four rebounds, two steals and a block in Tuesday's win.

Advice: This was easily Smith's best shooting game in recent memory, but with Howard and Capela due back soon, Smith will be heading back to the bench. He's still likely to get more minutes than Terrence Jones, but his horrid shooting from everywhere will probably do more harm than good to fantasy lineups. But he sure played well tonight. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 8:22 pm
  • Evan Turner double-doubles in win
Evan Turner played 29 minutes off the bench and hit 6-of-13 shots for 14 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Advice: Marcus Smart really struggled tonight and Turner took advantage. He's averaging 13.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.6 steals, but is not a 3-point shooter. Given how well he's playing, he should be owned in most leagues. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 7:57 pm
  • Kevin Martin (wrist) out for Tuesday
Kevin Martin (wrist) will not play on Tuesday vs. the Lakers as expected.

Advice: He was listed as questionable but coach Sam Mitchell never expected him to play. K-Mart is likely going to be traded, but he isn't worth stashing in almost any format at the moment. Zach LaVine will benefit on Tuesday and from here on out. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 6:42 pm
  • Josh Smith will start at center Tuesday
Josh Smith will start at center on Tuesday vs. the Heat.

Advice: Dwight Howard is suspended for tonight's game and Clint Capela (thigh) is sitting this one out, so Smith is expected to split the center minutes with Terrence Jones. Howard will be back next game and Capela is day-to-day, so feel free to leave Smith on the wire. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 4:46 pm
  • Kevin Martin (wrist) questionable for Tuesday
Kevin Martin (wrist) is being listed as questionable for Tuesday's game vs. the Lakers, although head coach Sam Mitchell said he didn't think he would play.

Advice: Martin should be listed as doubtful here, and it would be very surprising to see him take the court tonight. We should have official confirmation soon enough, but Zach LaVine will be the primary beneficiary with Martin likely on the sidelines Tuesday night, and he's on the radar in DFS with a favorable matchup against the Lakers. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 1:07 pm
  • Blake Griffin still waiting on discipline
Blake Griffin (hand) is still waiting to hear from the league about his punishment from the league.

Advice: The Clippers are hoping to hear from the league about Griffin's discipline soon, but a decision may not be imminent, according to sources. Griffin is expected to miss up to two months with a fractured right hand and will likely miss more time due to a suspension when he returns, so fantasy owners may not get him back until mid-to-late March. Short of having a a free IR spot, stashing Griffin could be a detrimental move for fantasy owners. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 6:20 am

  • Derrick Favors back problems due to mattress?
Derrick Favors scored 13 points with eight rebounds and four blocks in 38 minutes against the Bulls on Monday.

Advice: There's still no word if he got a new mattress, but nobody will be sleeping on him in fantasy leagues anymore. Favors is coming off a 20-point game on Saturday and should be an early-round player going forward. Rotoworld.com Monday, 10:42 pm
  • LaMarcus Aldridge drops season-high 28 points
LaMarcus Aldridge scored a season-high 28 points against the Magic during a 107-92 win on Monday, adding four rebounds and five blocks in 32 minutes.

Advice: His five blocks were also a season high and topped his entire January total of four. It's pretty wild to see Aldridge set a season high tonight at 28. In fact, he scored 28 or more 10 different times before Feb. 1 of last season with the Blazers. Aldridge is definitely trending up. Rotoworld.com Monday, 10:06 pm
  • Rudy Gay feasts vs. the Bucks with 32 points
Rudy Gay was phenomenal in a 111-104 win over the Bucks on Monday with 32 points on 13-of-20 shooting with nine boards, six assists, two steals and one 3-pointer in 38 minutes.

Advice: DeMarcus Cousins (ankle) sat this one out, so Gay predictably took control of the offense and helped the Kings snap a four-game losing streak. Cousins' status for Wednesday's game vs. the Bulls is up in the air, so Gay could be a popular target in DFS if Boogie misses another game. Rotoworld.com Monday, 9:59 pm

  • Jeff Green scores 24, Grizzlies win again
Jeff Green made 8-of-13 from the field for 24 points with seven rebounds, one assist, one steal and three 3-pointers in 34 minutes.

Advice: It's amazing how well Green plays when the Grizzlies win. In wins this year, Green averaged 14.6 points, 4.9 boards, 2.0 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.0 treys. In losses, it's just 8.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.5 treys. The Grizzlies are on a four-game winning streak and only James Harden has been better than Green in that span. He has to be owned. Rotoworld.com Monday, 9:19 pm
  • Thaddeus Young cooling off these days
Thaddeus Young scored eight points with five rebounds and one block in 25 minutes against the Pistons on Monday.

Advice: After he became one of the most improved rebounders in the first month of the season, Thad has cooled off. In his previous 10, Young averaged 13.6 points, 7.9 boards and 1.6 steals. He's still a very good bet to be a mid-round player going forward and flirt with top-50 value. He also had an awesome block on Ersan Ilyasova tonight (in link below). Rotoworld.com Monday, 7:41 pm
  • J.R. Smith scores 19 points
J.R. Smith scored 19 points with three rebounds, two steals and four 3-pointers in 42 minutes against the Pacers on Monday.

Advice: He had a great January, averaging 14.8 points, 2.9 boards, 1.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 3.0 treys on 45.4 percent from the field. He's playing about 16.3 minutes per game with LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love in 2016, but he's still managed to get his shots. He's flirting with top-50 value in 2016. Rotoworld.com Monday, 7:14 pm
  • Jordan Hill still hangs a nice line in loss
Jordan Hill scored 17 points with six rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block in 36 minutes against the Cavs on Monday.

Advice: It wasn't as great as his 20-point, six-block game on Saturday, but this is still a nice line. Ian Mahinmi (back) is likely looking at a few more games out of the lineup. Hill is nowhere near the asset Myles Turner is, but he's worth a look if you need some short-term help at PF/C. Rotoworld.com Monday, 7:00 pm
  • Kevin Martin doubtful for Tuesday
Kevin Martin (wrist) is doubtful to play against the Lakers on Tuesday.

Advice: It would be a shock to see him play. Zach LaVine is seeing minutes in the upper 20s with plenty of minutes at both guard spots. He should be owned in standard leagues now while Martin should have been dropped in most leagues. Rotoworld.com Monday, 4:45 pm
  • Derrick Favors back problems due to mattress?
Derrick Favors said his back problems may have been due to sleeping on his stomach and from having a soft mattress.

Advice: "I’m in the process of of changing my mattress now," Favors said. "It wasn’t soft, but it was kind of outdated. I had it for a couple of years." Former Jazzman Al Jefferson spent over $23K on his mattress in his Utah days, so maybe Favors can give him a call for help. Whatever the case, Favors has looked fantastic recently and dropped 20 points on Saturday. Rotoworld.com Monday, 12:00 pm
  • Lue wants Kevin Love to go back into the post
Kevin Love said Tyronn Lue has told him that he needs to return to being a "power player."

Advice: "He basically said that I need to go back to being more in the post, a power player, more demonstrative down there," Love said. "He just said I need to be aggressive every game and play hard. He said I'm only going to get the best out of myself if I play hard every night." The big man previously admitted that getting touches closer to the basket helps his comfort level in the flow of a game, so those with Love on the roster have to be feeling romantic about his outlook with Valentine's Day two weeks away. Rotoworld.com Monday, 8:42 am
  • Love feels more involved w/ close touches, FT
Kevin Love admitted that getting touches closer to the basket helps him feel more involved in the game.

Advice: "When I get to the free-throw line and get those close touches, it helps me have continuity and feel a little bit of a flow, involved in the offense," Love said. "It makes the hoop bigger in a lot of ways just getting those easy touches." Love has eclipsed 20 points scored in three straight games, averaging 23.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.0 blocks and 3.7 triples on 51.0 percent shooting during that stretch. • Vogel praises Jordan Hill's rim protection
Frank Vogel praised Jordan Hill's rim protection after his six-block showing on Saturday.

Advice: "He was great," Vogel said. "We’ve been on him the last couple of weeks to raise his level in terms of rim protection. He was great tonight in that regard." Hill has also drawn behind-the-scenes praise for his work mentoring Myles Turner, who he said is "going to be great." As for Hill, it's going to be tough to carve out sustainable fantasy value with Turner now playing an integral role and Ian Mahinmi (back) still performing well when healthy. • Wes Matthews' slump continues w/ 2-of-12 FGs
Wes Matthews' slump continued on Sunday, as he shot just 2-of-12 from the field to finish with seven points, four boards, one assist and one steal in 34 minutes.

Advice: The Mavs started a favorable stretch of their schedule with an easy win vs. the Suns, pushing them to within one game of the No. 5 seed Grizzlies. Matthews couldn't join the party offensively, going 1-of-8 from downtown, and he's now averaging just 6.8 points on 10-of-36 shooting in the Mavs' past four games. The perimeter gunner will look to get on track vs. the struggling Hawks on Monday. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 7:17 pm
  • Kevin Martin (wrist) out Sunday
Kevin Martin (wrist) will not play on Sunday vs. the Blazers.

Advice: This is Martin's fourth consecutive game on the sidelines and he won't play until he is 100 percent because he is on the trade block. Zach LaVine will pick up some extra minutes vs. the Blazers. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 4:44 pm
  • NBA still looking into Blake Griffin incident
The NBA's investigation of Blake Griffin (hand) is still ongoing.

Advice: Griffin is expected to miss up to two months of action because of his hand, but he could face some discipline from either the NBA or the Clippers. "He feels awful about it, and he's let everyone know that," Coach Doc Rivers said. "That's all you can do. You have to forgive people at some point. I believe that. We built Richard Nixon a library. I mean, my goodness, you forgive people." Unless you have an IR spot, stashing Griffin at this point in the season will be very difficult. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 6:09 am

James Harden dropped 40 points in Saturday's 123-122 loss to the Wizards, adding 11 assists, seven boards, four steals and six 3-pointers in 37 minutes.

Advice: The Wizards had no answer for him on the defensive end and he even fouled Garrett Temple out of the game. The Rockets have lost three straight games, but Harden has been playing some incredible ball with averages of 30.2 points, 8.6 boards, 7.6 assists, 1.4 steals, 1.0 blocks and 3.0 treys over his last five games. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 9:19 pm
  • Jeff Green scores 29 points off the bench
Jeff Green scored 29 points off the bench on Saturday vs. the Kings, adding two boards, one assist, three steals and three 3-pointers.

Advice: He shot 11-of-16 from the field and was arguably the best Grizzly other than Marc Gasol in this one. Green is now averaging an incredible 26.7 points, 5.0 boards, 1.0 assists, 1.7 steals and 2.6 3-pointers over his last three games, so he needs to be owned until he cools off. Green is a trade candidate for the Grizzlies, and his value may not be at a higher point this season than it is right now. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 8:48 pm
  • Danny Green has a bad game
Danny Green scored five points with three rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 23 minutes against the Cavs on Saturday.

Advice: You have to take the good with the bad with Green and it was bad tonight. He'll probably have a big game soon and he was shooting 50.0 percent from deep in his previous January games. Hang in there. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 8:21 pm
  • Rudy Gay (eye) scores 21 points in return
Rudy Gay (eye) returned from a two-game absence on Saturday vs. the Grizzlies and scored 21 points with seven boards, three assists, one steal, one block and two 3-pointers in 38 minutes.

Advice: DeMarcus Cousins left the game late with a pretty nasty ankle sprain, so Gay could take on a larger role in the offense if Boogie misses some time. His vision wasn't a problem tonight and he was in a good rhythm, shooting 6-of-12 from the field and connecting on all seven of his 3-pointers. Gay could be very busy on Monday vs. the Bucks so keep that in mind in DFS. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 8:11 pm

  • Jordan Hill scores 20 points with six blocks
Jordan Hill erupted for 20 points in a start with seven rebounds, three assists, one steal and six blocks in 38 minutes against the Nuggets on Saturday.

Advice: Wow. The blocks are obviously a fluke and were a career high. Ian Mahinmi (back) has been hurt throughout his career and there's a decent chance he is going to miss more games. Hill's body of work suggests he won't be great while Ian is out, so he's only an add if you have something to cut. Most owners will want to see it again. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 7:38 pm
  • Rudy Gay (eye) will start vs. the Grizzlies
Rudy Gay (eye) will start against the Grizzlies on Saturday.

Advice: He has missed the last two games, but he isn't expected to have any limitations tonight. His return will send Omri Casspi to the bench, but he is still worth owning in standard leagues. Gay is safe to plug back into lineups. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 4:28 pm

  • Jordan Hill starting for Ian Mahinmi
Jordan Hill will start in place of Ian Mahinmi (back) on Saturday against the Nuggets.

Advice: While Hill starting is interesting, this is all about more run for red-hot Myles Turner. Hill and Lavoy Allen will likely split minutes while Turner should see some heavy run. Hill isn't the greatest asset in most leagues. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 3:29 pm
  • Gobert is excited to have Favors back
Rudy Gobert is excited that Derrick Favors is starting again.

Advice: "I'm happy that he's back in the lineup," Gobert said. "It's great to have him back and we really missed his presence. We feel like we want to try and get back to how we played last year and at the start of this season." Favors moved back into the starting lineup on Friday vs. the Wolves and was excellent, scoring 20 points with nine boards and one block in 35 minutes. Needless to say, his buy-low window is likely closed. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 9:18 am
  • Danny Green hopes his shot keeps falling
Danny Green is hopeful that his shot will continue to improve.

Advice: "Most nights [the shot] doesn’t feel like you’d like it to," Green said. "My teammates are constantly encouraging me to shoot, and that helps." Green has been in a season-long slump, but he actually hit 25-of-50 3-pointers during the month of January and is coming off an 18-point performance against the Rockets in which he hit six triples. As frustrating as he has been, he shouldn't be sitting on the wire in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 8:47 am
  • Wes Matthews disappears on Friday
Wes Matthews scored just two points with five rebounds, three assists and no turnovers in 34 minutes against the Nets on Friday.

Advice: Weird. Matthews was just 1-of-4 from the field, didn't get to the line and didn't turn the ball over for a Tayshaun Prince-like 5.6 usage rate. Expect him to improve on Sunday against the Suns. Rotoworld.com Friday, 10:26 pm
  • James Harden scores 33 points in loss
James Harden scored 33 points against the Thunder during a 116-108 loss on Friday, adding seven rebounds, seven assists, two steals, one block and two 3-pointers.

Advice: He's scored more points per game against OKC than any other team. Harden and the Rockets are on a back-to-back and will take on the Wizards on Saturday. He's been terrific on the second half of back-to-backs with 31.2 points per game in those 12 instances, so fire him up in DFS against a sloppy Wizards team. Rotoworld.com Friday, 9:18 pm
  • Corey Brewer gets 30 minutes in start
Corey Brewer scored 17 points with two rebounds and one assist in 30 minutes against the Thunder on Friday.

Advice: The scoring is nice and all, but this wasn't a great line. Brewer doesn't gain too much value in the starting lineup and he's more of a 16-team guy. Rotoworld.com Friday, 9:14 pm
  • Josh Smith scores 10 points
Josh Smith scored 10 points with one rebound, one block and two 3-pointers in 15 minutes against the Thunder on Friday.

Advice: The Rockets didn't lean on him too much in this matchup. Smith is going to have a very bumpy ride in his stint with the Rockets and he's only worth a look in points leagues in most cases. Rotoworld.com Friday, 8:57 pm
  • Kevin ove scores 29 points vs. Pistons
Kevin Love scored a game-high 29 points against the Pistons on Friday during a 114-106 win, adding six rebounds, three assists and five 3-pointers in 37 minutes.

Advice: A lot of day-time sports shows have a target on Love, but it's easy to forget how great he can be on offense. He's not being used too much and his rebounds are down a tad, but expect Love to flirt with top-30 value going forward. Rotoworld.com Friday, 8:45 pm
  • Evan Turner scores 15 off the bench
Evan Turner scored 15 points with two rebounds, eight assists, two steals and three turnovers in 25 minutes against the Magic on Friday.

Advice: He said second unit has been beating the first unit in practice, and he compared it to UConn women's win streak. Jokes aside, Turner has been really good in reality for the second unit. He's still only hanging around top-150 value in standard leagues recently, so he's not an add now that Marcus Smart is back and playing wonderful ball. Rotoworld.com Friday, 8:05 pm
  • Corey Brewer sticking in the starting lineup
Corey Brewer is starting again on Friday against the Thunder.

Advice: The Rockets are going small again, so that means Trevor Ariza will probably have to guard Serge Ibaka. Brewer may have to guard Kevin Durant, so that'll be fun for him. This lineup also helps Josh Smith and really hurts Clint Capela, who played just 0.1 minutes next to Dwight Howard on Wednesday. Rotoworld.com Friday, 3:51 pm
  • Rudy Gay (eye) ready to return on Saturday
Rudy Gay (eye) is ready to return on Saturday against the Grizzlies.

Advice: It's still unknown if Gay will have goggles for this game. Gay missed two games after being hit in the eye on Monday, but he should be able to get back into the 30s for minutes off the bat. Expect to see less of Omri Casspi, Ben McLemore and Willie Cauley-Stein. Rotoworld.com Friday, 2:30 pm

  • Rudy Gay at practice with goggles
Rudy Gay (eye) was at practice on Friday with goggles.

Advice: It sounds like he'll be ready to go for Saturday against the Grizzlies for a revenge game. His return would be bad news for Omri Casspi, Ben McLemore and Willie Cauley-Stein. Gay's owners can plan on plugging him back into their lineups. Rotoworld.com Friday, 1:25 pm

  • Derrick Favors to start, Trey Lyles benched
Derrick Favors will start against the Wolves on Friday with Trey Lyles moving back to the bench.

Advice: It was just a matter of time. Favors' back has been responding really well, so his workload should continue to gradually increase. Needless to say, Favors belongs in all active lineups. Lyles had a good run with the first unit, but he's safe to drop outside of dynasty formats. Rotoworld.com Friday, 10:24 am
  • Report: Blake Griffin could miss two months
According to Zach Lowe of ESPN, Blake Griffin (hand) could miss two months of action.

Advice: His original timetable was established at 4-6 weeks, but even Doc Rivers suggested that the timetable wasn't realistic. This would mean that Griffin wouldn't return to the court until the end of March at the earliest, so his owners may be forced to evaluate other options if they don't have an IR spot. In the meantime, DeAndre Jordan, J.J. Redick and Chris Paul will all benefit. Rotoworld.com Friday, 9:26 am

  • Jeff Green, Courtney Lee available?
The Grizzlies are gauging the value of Jeff Green and Courtney Lee prior to the Feb. 18 trade deadline.

Advice: Memphis is not actively pursuing a trade, but they are considering one because both Lee and Green can leave as free agents this summer. Green has been inconsistent this season and has been called out by some of his teammates for a lack of effort at times, but his value might be decent after scoring a combined 51 points over his last two games. Nothing is imminent, but both players could certainly benefit from a change of scenery. Rotoworld.com Friday, 6:38 am
  • Jeff Green stays hot, scores 21 points in win
Jeff Green scored 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting in Thursday's win over the Bucks, adding five boards, one assist and three 3-pointers in 32 minutes.

Advice: He is hot right now. Green exploded for a season-high 30 points vs. the Magic on Monday, but we have seen this story before. Green tends to disappear for multiple games at a time, but he's at least worth a look while he's playing this well. He will look to keep it going vs. the Kings on Saturday. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 8:56 pm
  • The Rooster crushes Wizards in win
Danilo Gallinari scored 26 points against the Wizards on Thursday with five rebounds, six assists, one steal and four 3-pointers.

Advice: He's been fantastic in his last seven, averaging 23.0 points, 4.4 boards, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.0 treys on 46.6 percent from the field. Gallinari will put up early-round value this year as long as he's healthy. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 8:26 pm
  • LaMarcus Aldridge gets an All-Star spot
LaMarcus Aldridge, DeMarcus Cousins, Anthony Davis, Draymond Green, Klay Thomson, James Harden and Chris Paul were named to the Western Conference All-Star Team.

Advice: No Zaza Pachulia? Kidding aside, it's pretty hard to argue here outside of Damian Lillard and DeAndre Jordan, but it's hard to take any of these guys off. The Spurs are playing wonderful ball and deserve two guys while you could argue C.J. McCollum has been better than Dame on the whole because of Dame's heel injury. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 4:22 pm
  • LaMarcus Aldridge takes care of Houston
LaMarcus Aldridge scored a game-high 25 points during a 130-99 win over the Rockets on Wednesday, adding 10 boards, five assists and two turnovers on 9-of-13 from the field.

Advice: He famously deleted his Twitter account after the loss to the Warriors and said after Wednesday's game he wants to "lock in" for the season. His fantasy owners can't complain with Aldridge posting fourth-round value in January. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 9:53 pm
  • Danny Green scores 18 with six treys
Danny Green matched his season highs of 18 points and six 3-pointers against the Rockets on Wednesday, adding six rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block.

Advice: We know, we know. Green is a disappointment. However, he's actually shooting an even 50.0 percent from deep in January and he's sneakily posted sixth-round value this month. "I wouldn't have known that if you didn't tell me," Green said about his improved January shooting. As annoying as he's been and even though the following sentence has been written 30 times this season, his upside is too nice to leave on the wire in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 9:49 pm
  • Derrick Favors hits 6-of-9 FGs in 21 minutes
In his second game back from an extended absence, Derrick Favors posted 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting with three rebounds, two assists and one steal in 21 minutes.

Advice: "At this point it becomes what type of shape is he in?" said Quin Snyder, referring to Favors' playing time and role. "[It's] us not wanting to play him beyond what he's capable of right now." Favors didn't need to play more than 21 minutes in an easy win tonight, and he should be more active when the Jazz host the Wolves on Friday. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 9:24 pm
  • James Harden struggles in loss to Spurs
James Harden scored 20 points against the Spurs during a 130-98 loss on Wednesday, adding three rebounds, two assists, one block and one 3-pointer in 28 minutes.

Advice: The Spurs can shut down basically any non-Warriors team, so this isn't a surprise to see Harden struggle. His owners should have high hopes against his former team when he takes on OKC on Friday night. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 9:22 pm
  • Josh Smith scores 11 points
Josh Smith scored 11 points with seven rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block, one 3-pointer and three turnovers in 25 minutes against the Spurs on Wednesday.

Advice: He played the entire fourth quarter in garbage time. Smith is really going to be bad in the percentages, so he's going to have a tough time putting up value in nine-cat leagues. J-Smoove will be very annoying to own unless you play in a points format. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 9:16 pm
  • Corey Brewer scores eight in start
Corey Brewer scored eight points with one rebound and one 3-pointer in 14 minutes against the Spurs on Wednesday.

Advice: He probably won't stick in the starting lineup for long. Regardless, Brewer scores 33 percent of his points in fast break, so he's going to be extremely inconsistent due to nothing being drawn up for him. Even if he does keep his job, leave him on the wire in most leagues. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 9:06 pm
  • Evan Turner racks up 14/6/4 in 30 minutes
Evan Turner paced the Celtics' second unit on Wednesday with 14 points, four rebounds, six assists and a pair of steals, with three turnovers in 30 minutes of action.

Advice: This is Turner's fourth straight game with at least one steal, which is crucial since he never blocks shots and lacks 3-point range (14.8 percent on the season). As ever, his solid points, boards and assists are undermined by a lack of supporting stats -- most owners should leave him untouched. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 7:27 pm
  • J.R. Smith stays hot for coach Tyronn Lue
J.R. Smith scored 18 points in 23 minutes on Wednesday, making 7-of-11 shots (4-of-6 from downtown) with three boards, four assists and four steals.

Advice: Smith was averaging 37.0 minutes per game since Tyronn Lue took over head coaching duties on Jan. 23, and he might have reached that mark tonight if it weren't a blowout. He was averaging just under 30 minutes under coach David Blatt, so the regime change is paying dividends for Swish's owners. He's more than a 3-point specialist and needs to be active in all lineups. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 6:50 pm
  • Kevin Love gets 21 & 11 with full line vs PHX
Kevin Love finished Wednesday's blowout win with 21 points, three 3-pointers, 11 rebounds, four assists, two steals, two blocks and only one turnover in 28 minutes.

Advice: He got hit in the thigh during the first quarter but was able to walk it off, and it shouldn't bother him going forward. Tyronn Lue wants to get Love more involved as a playmaker by establishing him on the elbow offensively, something David Blatt seemed reluctant to try. Love is averaging a modest 2.7 dimes in his past three games, but the assists should tick upward if Lue stays the course. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 6:48 pm
  • P.J. Tucker solid in road loss vs. LBJ, Cavs
P.J. Tucker fared well vs. LeBron James and the Cavs, finishing Wednesday's road loss with 13 points, three 3-pointers, seven boards, two assists, one steal and only one turnover in 35 minutes.

Advice: Tucker appears to relish the challenge vs. LBJ -- in his first game vs. Cleveland this season, he racked up 14 points, two triples, six boards, two assists and three steals. He's been a borderline 9-cat option since Jan. 1, and most waiver wires feature free agents with greater upside. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 6:43 pm
  • Derrick Favors likely coming off bench
Derrick Favors is likely going to come off the bench against the Hornets on Wednesday.

Advice: That'll put Trey Lyles in the starting lineup again. Favors played just 20 minutes in his return on Monday, so expect him to be in the 23-27 range tonight. Expect Favors to get hot again soon. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 4:37 pm
  • Josh Smith says he feels 'comfortable' in HOU
Josh Smith said that he feels "comfortable" playing in Houston.

Advice: Smith's return to Houston has made Terrence Jones an afterthought in the rotation, and through three appearances with the Rockets Smith has averaged 24 minutes a game to go with 7.7 points, 4.0 boards, 3.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.7 blocks on 25.7 percent shooting from the field and 50.0 percent from the charity stripe. If you're punting free throws, Smith can be a worthwhile asset to own in deep leagues. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 8:11 am
  • Blake Griffin apologizes to LAC organization
Blake Griffin took to Twitter to apologize to the Clippers' organization for the physical altercation that happen between him and a Clipper staffer, and resulted in a fractured hand for Blake.

Advice: "A situation among friends escalated and I regret the way I handled myself towards someone I care about," Griffin said in the statement. "I want to apologize to the Clippers organization, my teammates and the fans for creating this distraction." Griffin is set to spend at least the next 4-6 weeks on the sidelines, but Doc Rivers indicated he feels that timetable is a bit optimistic, so owners without an IR-spot will need to consider cutting Blake at this point. • Wesley Matthews struggles vs. the Lakers
Wesley Matthews struggled in Tuesday's win over the Lakers, scoring just nine points with five assists and one 3-pointer in 33 minutes.

Advice: That is not the performance his owners were expecting against a team that has a total of nine wins this season. Regardless, Matthews did score in double digits in his previous five games and simply just had an off night, so make sure you keep him locked in all lineups. The Mavs will need him to be sharp on Wednesday vs. the Warriors. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 10:28 pm
