  • DeMarcus Cousins not on the injury report
DeMarcus Cousins did not appear on the Kings' injury report for Friday's game against the Spurs.

Advice: The Kings have thrown players with very minor injuries on the injury report as "probable" and it looks like Cousins dodged a bullet here. He suffered what could have been a contusion on Wednesday, but he did play through it and there look to be no negative effects since. He's arguably the best fantasy big man this side of Anthony Davis. Rotoworld.com

  • Joakim Noah (eye, knee) probable for Friday
Joakim Noah (eye, left knee) is being listed as probable for Friday's game vs. the Celtics.

Advice: Noah was able to go through a full practice on Thursday without any setbacks, and the Bulls listing him as probable is an encouraging sign. Still, owners will want to check back for an official update closer to Friday's tip. If Noah is a go, Cameron Bairstow who was a surprise start on Tuesday would head back to the bench. Rotoworld.com

  • Taj Gibson (ankle) out Friday vs. the Celtics
Taj Gibson (ankle) will not play Friday vs. the Celtics.

Advice: With Gibson out, Nikola Mirotic could see some extended minutes off the bench. However, Mirotic was only able to muster 20.8 minutes of action during his last outing with both Gibson and Joakim Noah (eye, left knee) sidelined, so there's no certainty that he will see major minutes. • Report: Teams inquiring about Brandon Bass
Various scouts and front-office types have reportedly begun to inquire about the availability of veteran forward Brandon Bass.

Advice: The Celtics currently own a record of 4-8, so they'll need to make a decision as to whether they're going to try and compete for a playoff spot, or go into a full rebuild. At 29-years-old, Bass doesn't make sense on a rebuilding team, so the Celtics may look to trade him for a younger asset or draft picks. It's not currently known what teams have reached out to the Celtics, and Danny Ainge has not made himself available to comment on the situation, but it is something worth monitoring. Bass doesn't get enough consistent minutes in Boston to be worth any attention in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

  • Joakim Noah (eye, knee) headed for GTD Friday
Joakim Noah (eye, left knee) was a full participant during Thursday's practice, and will be a game-time decision for Friday's game vs. the Celtics.

Advice: The fact that Noah is having problems with his surgically repaired left knee is troubling, but some of those concerns can be eased if he's able to suit up on Friday. Owners will want to check back for an official update closer to tip-off, but if he's unable to go, Pau Gasol will start at center, and Nikola Mirotic could see some extended minutes. Stay tuned. • Nick Young hits 4-of-14 shots in loss
Nick Young hit just 4-of-14 shots and two 3-pointers for 13 points and two blocks in Wednesday's loss.

Advice: The Lakers were talking about "force feeding" Young tonight, but it never really happened. Like Isaiah Thomas, Gerald Green, Giannis Antetokounmpo and J.R. Smith, Young is always an interesting all-or-nothing play. Unfortunately, tonight was closer to nothing than all, and Young's been too inconsistent to be trusted as an everyday starter in most fantasy leagues. Rotoworld.com

  • Gee's up: Alonzo gets 18 minutes
Alonzo Gee picked up 18 minutes against the Suns on Wednesday with 11 points, five rebounds, one assist and two turnovers.

Advice: He has seen playing time on occasion and even played over Kenneth Faried down the stretch in a game earlier this season. The Nuggets will likely throw him out there for minutes in the low 20s with Danilo Gallinari (knee) and Randy Foye (knee) hurt. He's only an option in deep leagues, of course. Rotoworld.com
    Yesterday, 11:52 pm
  • Boris Diaw awful in win over Pacers
Boris Diaw hit just 1-of-3 shots for two points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal in 33 minutes of Wednesday's win over the Pacers.

Advice: He also committed three turnovers in his worst game of the season. He had scored in double figures in his previous three games, but was scoring in single figures for most of the season prior to his hot streak. He's always worth a look in fantasy leagues, but is simply unreliable in the Spurs offense. Rotoworld.com

  • Copeland coping with fewer minutes for Indy
Chris Copeland came off the bench and played just 23 minutes to finish with 12 points, three rebounds, a steal and two 3-pointers on 4-of-10 shooting Wednesday.

Advice: David West is finally expected back on Friday from a severely sprained ankle as Copeland's minutes and production have been slipping. Once West is back, Copeland is probably waiver-wire material in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

  • Matt Bonner returns, but you wouldn't know it
Matt Bonner returned to action from an illness on Wednesday but failed to score in 14 minutes.

Advice: He had missed three straight games and while he'll have the occasional big line when the Spurs get nutty with the lineup, he's not worth holding in almost any league. Rotoworld.com
    Yesterday, 10:56 pm
  • Larry Sanders capitalizes with 15 & 5 blocks
Larry Sanders was the 2012-13 version of himself against the Wolves on Wednesday with 15 points, seven rebounds, two assists, one steal, five blocks and four turnovers in 28 minutes.

Advice: He made 7-of-10 from the field and only committed three fouls in his best game of the year. Sanders was coming off a nice 12-point, nine-board game, so it's going to be awfully hard to leave him on the wire considering his upside in blocks. If you have anything on your team you're not too attached to, go get him before someone else does. Rotoworld.com

  • Luis Scola scores 13, but end of run is near
Luis Scola started and had 13 points and six rebounds on 5-of-12 shooting in Wednesday's loss to the Spurs.

Advice: Scola could be on his way out of the starting lineup soon if David West is really ready to play through his ankle injury on Friday. He might hold onto some value with Roy Hibbert also sitting with a sprained ankle, but when both West and Hibbert are healthy, it's hard to see Scola being worth owning in most leagues. Rotoworld.com

  • James Harden scores 26 points on 31 FGAs
James Harden made 10-of-31 from the field for 26 points against the Kings during a 102-89 win on Wednesday, adding seven rebounds, eight assists, two steals, three blocks and two 3-pointers.

Advice: He only turned the ball over once and the Rockets did win against a good Kings team, so it's hard to bash The Beard for the ridiculous shooting clip. He set a career high in shot attempts tonight, but he's cleared the 30-point plateau in every game with at least 25 shots from the field. Regardless, Harden is a fantasy stud. Rotoworld.com

  • Donatas Motiejunas getting hot, scores 21
Donatas Motiejunas scored a career-high 21 points against the Kings on Wednesday with six rebounds, three assists, three steals and one 3-pointer on 10-of-15 from the field.

Advice: This is his third effective game in a row with an average of 13.5 points per game in his previous two. He's also seen a major bump in minutes with 35.7 per game over his last three. The Rockets won't get Terrence Jones (leg) back any time soon and Dwight Howard (knee) is out, so Motiejunas is worth a look in all standard leagues now that he seems to have figured it out. • DeMarcus Cousins is 'fine' after injury scare
DeMarcus Cousins suffered a leg injury against the Rockets on Wednesday and did not miss time, finishing with 29 points, 17 rebounds, six assists, three blocks and seven turnovers in 37 minutes.

Advice: After the game, he said his knee is sore, but he will be fine for Friday against the Spurs. Cousins has put the team on his back over his last seven and has a usage of at least 36 percent in five of those games, which led to averages of 25.0 points, 14.3 boards, 3.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.9 blocks on 52.4 percent from the field and 83.3 from the line. He is a monster and is basically unstoppable. Rotoworld.com

  • James Johnson blocks three in 20 minutes
James Johnson (illness) played 20 minutes against the Hawks on Wednesday with four points, one rebound, one assist, one steal and three blocks.

Advice: He was reportedly very ill, but Johnson takes great pride in calling himself Wolverine. He is doing a great job on the defensive side and he had a nice Euro step on the offensive end tonight, too. Johnson is a sneaky player to own in 14-team leagues. Rotoworld.com
    Yesterday, 9:28 pm
  • Al Horford scores 23 on 16 shot attempts
Al Horford made 11-of-16 from the field for 23 points against the Raptors on Wednesday with nine rebounds, four assists and two blocks in 32 minutes.

Advice: He had foul trouble on Tuesday in one of his worst games of the year, but Horford is starting to see his shots go up. It's just the second time he's been over 20 points all season, and there should be more of those games as he gets into a rhythm. Even with the low scoring of 13.3 points per game, Horford was still putting up third-round value. Rotoworld.com

  • James Johnson is playing on Wednesday
James Johnson (illness) is playing on Wednesday.

Advice: The team didn't update him and he just checked in. Johnson should have limited playing time tonight. Rotoworld.com
    Yesterday, 5:17 pm
  • Matt Bonner (illness) is back for Spurs
Matt Bonner (illness) is ready to play against the Pacers on Wednesday.

Advice: It's going to be interesting to see how coach Ettore Messina uses Bonner tonight. Boris Diaw has been great, so his fantasy owners shouldn't be too concerned about Bonner returning. Rotoworld.com
    Yesterday, 3:58 pm
  • James Johnson (flu) questionable for Wed
James Johnson (flu) is questionable to face the Hawks on Wednesday.

Advice: He is under the weather and the Raptors might not need him. Johnson played four minutes in his return from an ankle injury on Monday, but the fouls were likely the issue. Fantasy owners shouldn't be counting on him tonight. Rotoworld.com
    Yesterday, 3:17 pm
  • Forcefeed coming to Nick Young vs. MEM?
Coach Byron Scott said the Lakers will "forcefeed" Nick Young in Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies to help get him going.

Advice: Uh oh. That's basically giving the Cookie Monster an all-you-can-eat trip to the cookie stand in the mall. Young has only attempted 9.5 shots per game in his last two, so he will likely get shots in the teens. On the down side, the Grizzlies play very good defense, so he could have an inefficient game. He's a decent option in daily leagues, but owners in standards might have a better option on a 13-game night. Rotoworld.com
    Yesterday, 11:28 am
  • DeMarcus Cousins leads Kings to 9-5 record
DeMarcus Cousins led the Kings to a road win on Tuesday with 22 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, three steals, one block and five turnovers in 35 minutes.

Advice: DMC made 8-of-18 FGs and 6-of-6 FTs in another impressive performance, helping Sacramento improve their record to 9-5. He's solidified himself as a top-10 fantasy option and has only picked up one technical foul through 14 games, so owners shouldn't have to fret about suspensions as we near the end of the regular season. Rotoworld.com
    Tuesday, 8:47 pm
  • Al Horford limited by foul trouble Tuesday
Al Horford was limited by foul trouble during Tuesday's game, playing only 23 minutes and finishing with seven points, seven boards, two assists and one block.

Advice: He made 3-of-4 shots and it wasn't a total bust for fantasy owners, who should take his rare foul-plagued dud in stride. He'd scored double-digit points in four straight games prior to Tuesday and should begin a new streak vs. Toronto on Wednesday. Rotoworld.com
    Tuesday, 6:46 pm
  • Joakim Noah diagnosed w/ left knee effusion
Joakim Noah has been diagnosed with a left knee effusion, more commonly referred to as water on the knee, and he will not play on Tuesday.

Advice: Noah also has an eye injury, but his surgically-repaired left knee is a more serious concern for fantasy owners. Pau Gasol will shift to center in his absence and Nikola Mirotic is a terrific speculative pick-up, having averaged 13.3 points, 2.0 threes and 7.0 rebounds over Chicago's past four games. The Bulls play in Boston on Friday, so Noah's owners will have to stay alert for updates over the next few days. At the moment we're considering him day-to-day. Rotoworld.com

  • Joakim Noah (eye, knee) ruled out vs. Denver
Joakim Noah (eye, left knee) will not play vs. the Nuggets on Tuesday.

Advice: Noah's eye injury doesn't seem serious and fantasy owners should be more concerned about his left knee, which was surgically repaired over the summer. He's been on a minute-limit and hopefully this is just a precaution by Chicago in the second game of a back-to-back set. With Noah and Taj Gibson (ankle) both out, Pau Gasol will have a heavy workload and plenty of minutes will be available for Nikola Mirotic, with help from Doug McDermott. Rotoworld.com

  • Matt Bonner (stomach virus) probable for Wed.
Matt Bonner (stomach virus) is being listed as probable for Wednesday's game vs. the Pacers.

Advice: Bonner can give you some 3-pointers, but that's about it. He's averaging 6.6 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.4 three-pointers this season, so he's not worth owning in most leagues. Rotoworld.com
    Tuesday, 4:13 pm
  • Matt Bonner (illness) probable vs. Pacers
Matt Bonner (stomach virus) is probable for Wednesday’s game vs. Indiana.

Advice: Bonner sat out Saturday's game as the Spurs quarantined him to avoid spreading his illness, but he's recovered and might even return to the starting lineup with Tiago Splitter sidelined. He's a poor source of fantasy value beyond the handful of 3-pointers he offers per game. Rotoworld.com
    Tuesday, 4:08 pm
  • Joakim Noah (eye/knee) questionable Tuesday
Joakim Noah (eye/left knee) is being listed as questionable for Tuesday's game vs. Denver.

Advice: It's worth noting that Joakim's left knee is the one that was surgically repaired this offseason, so we'll be monitoring this situation closely. If Noah sits out, Nikola Mirotic would likely slide into the starting lineup, and would serve as an excellent plug-and-play option in daily leagues against a weak Denver interior defense. Check back for an official update on Noah's status as we draw closer to Tuesday's tip. Rotoworld.com

  • No setbacks for James Johnson
James Johnson didn't suffer a setback in Monday's game when he played just four minutes in his return from an ankle injury.

Advice: The Raps are just working him back into the mix slowly, so it might take him a week to get back up to speed. Rotoworld.com
    Tuesday, 11:24 am
  • Larry Sanders shares source of inspiration
Larry Sanders spoke about the importance of sacred idols as the source of his inspiration.

Advice: When asked during an interview about what inspires him outside of basketball, Sanders showed his theological side. "I would just say, I really look to sacred idols," Sanders said. "I feel people who draw other people to God. So, Buddha, Jesus, just all the sacred icons. It's all theosis." While the 26-year-old has had a rough start to the 2014-15 regular season, he's still worth holding onto in standard leagues due to his potential to put up huge block numbers. Rotoworld.com
    Tuesday, 7:02 am
  • Noah leaves briefly with eye injury
Joakim Noah left Monday's game with an eye injury but eventually returned and finished with four points, five rebounds, four assists and one block in 30 minutes.

Advice: Noah is probably going to be a disappointment for anybody burning a high mid-round pick and that's before we talk about any injury risk. Unless you hear otherwise, feel free to have him in lineups for Tuesday's game in Denver. Rotoworld.com

  • Scola double-doubles with versatile line
Luis Scola had a uncharacteristic versatile line in Monday's win over the Mavs, scoring 14 points on 4-of-11 shooting with 11 rebounds, two assists, two steals, one block, one three and a 5-of-6 mark from the foul line.

Advice: Scola has been productive and will probably enjoy the rest of his four-game week, but he will lose his low-end value sooner rather than later when David West and Roy Hibbert return. Rotoworld.com
    Monday, 10:09 pm
  • Harden scores season-high 36 points
James Harden scored a season-high 36 points in the Rockets' 91-86 win over the Knicks on Monday, hitting 11-of-22 shots (7-of-12 from deep, 7-of-7 from the line) with six rebounds, six assists, three steals and one block.

Advice: Harden is a beast and likely to be a top-5 fantasy asset even when LeBron James gets back on track, and the Thunder guys return and get rolling. Rotoworld.com
    Monday, 10:00 pm
  • Copeland's value goes into the tank
Chris Copeland scored 11 points on 4-of-10 shooting with three treys, one board and that's it in 14 minutes off the bench on Monday.

Advice: Copeland never had any real value in standard leagues unless you were punting half your categories and who does that. Even though he hit three treys he's waiver wire fodder. Rotoworld.com
    Monday, 9:46 pm
  • Motiejunas nears solid double-double vs. NY
Donatas Motiejunas scored 13 points on 6-of-12 shooting with eight rebounds, one steal, one block and one three in 32 minutes against the Knicks.

Advice: Motie beating up on the Knicks and getting his usually non-existent peripheral stats isn't swinging the pendulum here, but he has been much more productive than he usually is lately. With Terrence Jones (leg) out long-term and Dwight Howard (knee) a question mark at this moment, we're all on the hunt for the beneficiary and right now Kostas Papanikolaou has a much better stat-set to get the job done with. Rotoworld.com
    Monday, 9:37 pm
  • James Johnson plays four minutes on Monday
James Johnson played four minutes against the Suns with one steal and two fouls.

Advice: He didn't take a single shot tonight and may not be 100 percent. Johnson said he was "like Wolverine" for recovering so soon from his ankle sprain, but he wasn't a superhero with fouling tonight. He should be better his next time out. Rotoworld.com
    Monday, 9:06 pm
  • James Johnson will play on Monday night
James Johnson (ankle) will play against the Suns on Monday night.

Advice: He has been out since Nov. 16 with what looked like a severe ankle sprain, but Johnson is likely going to see his normal minutes. He was actually turning in mid-round value because of all the defensive stats, so he's worth a look in standard leagues. To be clear, he's not a must-own player and obviously won't be a mid-round guy on the season. Rotoworld.com
    Monday, 2:49 pm
  • Taj Gibson not a lock to return on Friday
Taj Gibson (ankle) is uncertain to return by Friday's game against the Celtics.

Advice: Gibson has already been ruled out of Monday and Tuesday's contests, and he's not even traveling with the team currently. Tom Thibodeau said there isn't much swelling, the Bulls won't take any chances with letting Gibson's ankle injury linger. Nikola Mirotic stands to benefit from Gibson's absence. Rotoworld.com
    Monday, 6:44 am

  • Taj Gibson (ankle) out Monday and Tuesday
Taj Gibson (ankle) was sent home to Chicago to be evaluated by team doctors, and he will not play Monday vs. the Jazz or Tuesday vs. the Nuggets.

Advice: Nikola Mirotic will be the main beneficiary of Gibson's absence, and he is coming off a 24-point 11-rebound outing vs. Portland. If Pau Gasol (calf) is also unable to suit up on Monday, Mirotic is going to get all the minutes he can handle, and he makes for a decent speculative add in standard leagues for owners with roster space. Just know that Mirotic's value could be short-lived with Gasol nearing a return. Rotoworld.com

  • Larry Sanders gets his minutes in check
Larry Sanders played 19 minutes against the Wizards on Saturday with five points, four rebounds, one steal and four blocks.

Advice: He fouls too much and the Bucks run an 11-man rotation, so that leaves a lot to be desired from the 2012-13 breakout player. Still, the blocks make him someone worth holding on to just in case coach Jason Kidd decides to tighten his rotation. Rotoworld.com
    Saturday, 10:25 pm
  • James Harden bounces back, wins it for Rox
James Harden hit 8-of-18 shots, four 3-pointers and 12-of-13 free throws for 32 points, eight boards, four assists and two steals in Saturday's comeback win over the Mavs.

Advice: Harden was fouled late, made the shot and hit the free throw for a tough 3-point play to put the Rockets ahead for good on Saturday. He scored just six points on Tuesday, but bounced back for 24 points on Thursday and 32 tonight. Rotoworld.com
    Saturday, 8:51 pm
  • Donatas Motiejunas racks up 14 & 12 in win
Donatas Motiejunas played a whopping 38 minutes (season high) and hit 5-of-7 shots on his way to 14 points, 12 rebounds and a 3-pointer on Saturday.

Advice: He also had five turnovers, but who cares? He's been getting some decent run with Dwight Howard out, but this was easily his best game of the season. He had played just 18 minutes in each of his last two games, but got big run tonight, and it paid off. He's still a shaky play in daily or standard leagues, but as long as Howard and Terrence Jones are out, he's at least worth a look from night to night. Rotoworld.com
    Saturday, 8:45 pm
  • DeMarcus Cousins dominates w/ 31 pts, 18 reb
DeMarcus Cousins steamrolled the short-handed Wolves in Saturday's road win, scoring 31 points and tying his season-high with 18 rebounds.

Advice: He navigated foul trouble while making a stellar 11-of-15 FGs and 9-of-10 FTs, to go along with two assists, one steal, two blocks and three turnovers. Wolves coach Flip Saunders said prior to the game that DMC is in his top-five MVP candidates to begin the season, and it's hard to disagree. The Kings' 8-5 record would be golden in the Eastern Conference, but as things stand they're in fourth place in the tough Pacific division. Rotoworld.com
    Saturday, 8:27 pm
  • Matt Bonner (illness) will not play on Sat.
Matt Bonner (illness) will not play against the Nets on Saturday.

Advice: He was doubtful and his illness will cost him his third game. Bonner has been helpful for the Spurs while Tiago Splitter (calf) has been out, but he's usually not worth starting in almost any fantasy league. Rotoworld.com
    Saturday, 3:54 pm
  • James Johnson is out again on Saturday
James Johnson (ankle) will not play on Saturday against the Cavs.

Advice: He was not expected to play anyway and hasn't gone through a full practice yet. Terrence Ross and Patrick Patterson will get some extra run tonight. Rotoworld.com
    Saturday, 3:10 pm
  • Nick Young still wearing soft cast
Nick Young has been playing with a soft cast on his right thumb for all three games this season.

Advice: While his right arm may be strictly for buckets, it's possible the cast on his shooting hand could have hindered him. Young made just 2-of-7 from the field for five points against the Mavericks on Friday. He is really going to struggle in most non-scoring categories in fantasy leagues, so it's not going to be easy for him to be a top-120 guy. Rotoworld.com
    Saturday, 12:52 pm
  • Matt Bonner (illness) doubtful for Saturday
Matt Bonner (illness) is doubtful to face the Nets on Saturday.

Advice: The Spurs have seen Boris Diaw flourish in the starting lineup over the past couple games and he should get another chance tonight. If you want to give him a look in a daily league, it makes sense. Bonner has very little fantasy value. Rotoworld.com
    Saturday, 11:37 am
  • Taj Gibson (ankle) frustrated by third sprain
Taj Gibson sprained his left ankle for the third time since last year's playoffs on Friday, saying afterward, "I have to stop trying to run back out there and trying to play through these things."

Advice: "I pushed through a whole summer of trying to rehab the same ankle and it just keeps flaring up," Gibson said. "I just keep having these little bum ankle turns ... I have to be patient ... We've got a long season, but the dog in me wants to be out there and play. I have to learn from this." The ongoing nature of Gibson's injury suggests he'll miss significant time with his latest sprain, though fantasy owners can expect plenty of nebulous injury updates from the Bulls in the days to come. Nikola Mirotic posted a 20-10 game after Gibson went down on Friday, though his role will be limited once Pau Gasol (calf) gets back on the court. Rotoworld.com

  • Al Horford happy to wear compression shirt
Al Horford will continue to wear a compression shirt under his jersey, saying that it's "actually helped [him] a lot" as he returns from pectoral surgery.

Advice: "I never really wanted to wear it," Horford said. "My trainers thought it was a good idea to help me. I was getting very stiff at times. With the shirt I notice it keeps it warm, keeps it tight." Horford is quietly returning to form, averaging 13.8 points on 54.2 percent shooting, 6.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.2 blocks per game, good enough for top-40 fantasy value. Rotoworld.com

  • Thibs downplays Gibson's ankle injury
Coach Tom Thibodeau downplayed the ankle injury suffered by Taj Gibson on Friday night against the Blazers, saying he didn't think it was serious despite Gibson leaving the arena on crutches and in a walking boot.

Advice: X-rays taken were negative but there is a different vibe coming from writers that think he may need at least a little time to get his ankle right. Owners speculating on Nikola Mirotic (24 points, 11 rebounds, four threes) may want to tap the breaks here, but the running joke is that Thibs doesn't think any injury is serious. With Pau Gasol set to come back sooner rather than later it would appear, Mirotic is more of a flier than anything in 12-14 team formats. In daily formats owners could be able to squeeze a few good games out of him. Rotoworld.com

  • Taj Gibson hurts ankle in Friday's game
Taj Gibson hit the ground after hurting his left ankle in Friday's game and did not return.

Advice: He was helped off the floor by teammates and he is already on crutches, and it's the same ankle he hurt against the Cavs. Nikola Mirotic has looked pretty good with Pau Gasol out and he'll clearly take a backseat to Gasol and Joakim Noah, but in that injury prone crew he'll also be well-positioned if the injury bug strikes. We don't have a timetable on Gibson since the injury just occurred, but Mirotic is worth a look as a speculative add for any low-upside or risky player on your roster. Rotoworld.com

  • James Johnson still out on Friday night
James Johnson (ankle) will not play against the Bucks on Friday.

Advice: He is expected to miss more games, but he has been on the practice court in a limited capacity. Terrence Ross and Patrick Patterson will get some more run tonight. Rotoworld.com
    Friday, 4:10 pm
  • Larry Sanders is in the starting lineup
Larry Sanders is in the starting lineup against the Raptors.

Advice: We just thought we'd throw that out there considering it was an issue with him last time. Start Sanders like you normally would and hope he avoids foul trouble. Rotoworld.com
    Friday, 4:08 pm
  • Diaw is starting again on Friday night
Boris Diaw is starting again on Friday night against the Wolves.

Advice: He is coming off his best game of the season and it was fairly obvious he was going to start tonight. Diaw probably won't be as great, but he's someone to consider in standard leagues against a weak Wolves team. Rotoworld.com

  • Larry Sanders left thigh now 100 percent
Larry Sanders said that he's fully healed from his left thigh injury he sustained during Friday's game vs. the Magic.

Advice: It's nice to know that he's healthy, but it would be better if he could start contributing consistently. Sanders is averaging 6.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.4 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game this season while shooting 41.1 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from the charity stripe. Those poor shooting percentages are keeping him out of the top-100, and right now he doesn't look like much more than a blocks specialist in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

  • Matt Bonner (stomach) out Friday vs. Boston
Matt Bonner (stomach illness) will not suit up for Friday's game vs. the Celtics.

Advice: Bonner has little fantasy value in most fantasy leagues, and his absence just means more minutes for Tim Duncan, Boris Diaw, and Aron Baynes. Bonner can remain on the wire in nearly all formats. Rotoworld.com

  • Kobe happy to have Nick Young back in action
Kobe Bryant stated during a recent interview that he's happy to have Nick Young back in action.

Advice: "You got a player who can get buckets and create. He does wonders," Bryant said. "Nick is a phenomenal talent. He has a pull-up jump shot and is creating mismatches. I’m very happy to have him back." Bryant also went on to say that he thinks Young will compete for Sixth Man of the Year honors, a high compliment from a man who doesn't give out many. Young is averaging 16.5 points and 2.0 three-pointers through his first two games back with the team, and while he doesn't bring much else to the stat sheet, his scoring and 3-point shot making make him worth owning in standard leagues. • DeMarcus Cousins post 22-14 line in win
DeMarcus Cousins played through a hip injury and lived in the paint against the Bulls on Thursday, scoring 22 points with 14 boards, four assists, one steal and one block in 34 minutes.

Advice: He did turn the ball over five times and had five fouls. Cousins leads the NBA in fouls and has committed at least five in all but three games this season. Besides that and the high turnovers, Cousins is dominating on the stat sheet and is the main reason why the Kings are 7-5. He's in the mix to be the most valuable big man behind Anthony Davis. • Taj Gibson has a letdown game in Sacramento
Taj Gibson scored 12 points with eight rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal in 34 minutes against the Kings on Thursday.

Advice: Gibson owners had higher hopes than this tonight as the starting power forward. In his seven starts at power forward last season, he averaged 20.6 points, 9.7 boards, 1.7 blocks and 0.9 steals. Pau Gasol (calf) could miss more time, so Gibson owners should continue to have him locked into their lineups until further notice. Rotoworld.com

  • Joakim Noah turns it on late
Joakim Noah turned it on late against the Kings in a losing effort on Thursday, finishing with 10 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block in 37 minutes.

Advice: He played almost the entire fourth quarter with five fouls and was very active on the glass. Noah had another double-double on Monday in the first game without Pau Gasol, so it's fair to say Noah will have better fantasy value sans Pau. Rotoworld.com

  • Nick Young receives flop warning from league
Nick Young received a flop warning from the NBA on Thursday.

Advice: Young drew a foul on Kyle Korver while attempting a 3-point shot, and as the video shows, Korver did not even make contact with Young. The first offense is just a warning, but the second results in a $5,000 fine, with each additional flop resulting in an increased penalty. Young has brought a much-needed scoring-punch to the Lakers' second unit, and is averaging 17.0 points and 2.0 three-pointers through his first two games. He doesn't do much aside from score, but should be able to sustain limited value in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com

  • Matt Bonner (stomach) questionable for Friday
Matt Bonner (stomach illness) is being listed as questionable for Friday's game vs. the Timberwolves.

Advice: Bonner is averaging just 6.6 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.4 three-pointers on the season, and that pretty much tells you all you need to know about Bonner's non-existent fantasy value. Feel free to leave The Red Mamba on the wire in all but the deepest of leagues. Rotoworld.com

  • DeMarcus Cousins (hip) probable for Thursday
DeMarcus Cousins (hip) is being listed as probable for Thursday's game vs. the Bulls.

Advice: Cousins' injury seems very minor, and he was able to put up 24 points and 17 rebounds during his last outing, despite tweaking his left hip flexor during Tuesday's warmups. Stay tuned for an official update as we draw closer to Thursday's tip, but things are looking positive for Sacramento's primary offensive weapon. Rotoworld.com

  • James Johnson (ankle) sheds walking boot
James Johnson (ankle) was moving well without a walking boot after the Raptors' practice on Thursday.

Advice: The Raptors' defensive specialist and energizer is questionable for Friday's home game vs. the Bucks. It wouldn't be surprising to see him held out another game as a precaution, but we'll have a much clearer idea of his status after shootaround. Rotoworld.com

  • Swaggy PhD: Nick Young cures Lakers
Nick Young helped the Lakers win their second game in a row in a 98-92 victory in Houston, scoring 16 points with four rebounds, two steals and two 3-pointers in 28 minutes.

Advice: The Lakers went 1-9 without Young, but they've now won both games with him. He's getting plenty of shots in the second unit and it looks like he'll be able to score in the teens. His owners shouldn't expect much else besides scoring, but give him a look if that's what your team is lacking. Rotoworld.com

  • Donatas Motiejunas loses playing time
Donatas Motiejunas played 18 minutes against the Lakers on Wednesday with seven points, three rebounds, one assist, one steal, one 3-pointer and four fouls.

Advice: He may have squandered his last real chance here. Motiejunas had his best opportunity of the season with Dwight Howard (knee) and Terrence Jones (leg) out, but his fouls and turnovers were the headline for him tonight. Fantasy owners just can't trust him right now. Rotoworld.com
    Wednesday, 11:29 pm
  • Larry Sanders plays 14 minutes
Larry Sanders played 14 minutes against the Nets on Wednesday with four points, four boards and one turnover.

Advice: He was a game-time decision tonight and the Bucks didn't announce he was a go until after the 7:30 start time in Brooklyn. Sanders will likely have his minutes limited in his next game on Friday, so his owners should have low expectations against the Raptors on Friday. Check back for updates, assuming the team provides them. Rotoworld.com
    Wednesday, 9:58 pm
  • Chris Copeland's minutes take a hit
Chris Copeland played just 27 minutes against the Hornets on Wednesday with six points, two rebounds and two assists.

Advice: His minutes took a significant hit with Rodney Stuckey returning tonight after a 39-minute game in his last outing. Copeland is struggling from the field and has hit just 34.0 percent in his last five, averaging 9.0 points, 3.0 boards, 1.2 assists, 0.4 steals and 1.8 triples in that span. If you're eyeing another hot free agent, Copeland is not a must-own player anymore. Rotoworld.com

  • Brandon Bass scores season-high 23 in win
Brandon Bass hit 9-of-13 shots for a season-high 23 points, six rebounds, a steal and a block in Wednesday's win over the Sixers.

Advice: Bass had only hit double digits in scoring in two games this season prior to tonight and doesn't belong on fantasy rosters. Rotoworld.com
    Wednesday, 8:33 pm
  • DeMarcus Cousins is probable for Thursday
DeMarcus Cousins (hip) is probable to face the Bulls on Thursday.

Advice: He should be fine and was able to play through the injury on Tuesday. Cousins has been outstanding this season and he'll get a tough test against a great Chicago frontline. Rotoworld.com
    Wednesday, 7:44 pm
  • Boris Diaw shines as Spurs beat Cavs
Boris Diaw played a team-high 39 minutes and hit 8-of-14 shots and a 3-pointer for 19 points, six rebounds, seven assists, three steals and a block in Wednesday's big win over the Cavaliers.

Advice: That's fantasy gold, right there, but the minutes were a big reason. Diaw normally gets 26 a night, but with Matt Bonner out, Diaw was a featured player for Gregg Popovich. This was his first double-digit scoring night since Nov. 5 and he's averaging 7.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 0.6 steals, 0.6 blocks and 0.5 3-pointers, meaning he's probably not worth owning in your league. But this is your sign to keep a close eye on him going forward, in case tonight was the start of a hot streak. Rotoworld.com
    Wednesday, 7:26 pm
  • Larry Sanders is starting on Wednesday
Larry Sanders is in the starting lineup on Wednesday night.

Advice: In usual Bucks fashion, this update comes at 7:37 pm EST for the 7:30 game. Sanders' thigh issue may limit him and his minutes have been a bit erratic anyway, so he should be on the bench in most fantasy leagues. Zaza Pachulia will move back into the second unit tonight. Rotoworld.com
    Wednesday, 4:36 pm
  • Boris Diaw is starting for Spurs
Boris Diaw will start against the Cavs on Wednesday.

Advice: He has usually been brought off the bench, but the Spurs are without Matt Bonner (illness) and Tiago Splitter (calf). Diaw did a nice job on LeBron last year in the Finals and will likely get more minutes than usual. Rotoworld.com
    Wednesday, 4:09 pm
  • Larry Sanders is a game-time call vs. Nets
Larry Sanders (thigh) is a game-time call on Wednesday night to face the Nets.

Advice: He was a late scratch on Tuesday and there is a good chance he misses tonight. Zaza Pachulia is coming off a nice game and would be a desperate plug-and-play option on a busy night in the NBA. Rotoworld.com
    Wednesday, 3:28 pm
  • James Johnson won't play vs. Memphis
James Johnson (ankle) will not play against the Grizzlies on Wednesday.

Advice: He is in a walking boot and does not have a timetable to return. Johnson is a tough customer, but the Raptors will likely be careful based on how things went with Amir Johnson's ankle last season. Expect more Terrence Ross and Patrick Patterson tonight. Rotoworld.com
    Wednesday, 3:20 pm
  • Matt Bonner out Wednesday w/ stomach illness
Matt Bonner will not suit up for the Spurs on Wednesday due to a stomach illness.

Advice: Tiago Splitter (calf) is still on the shelf, so there will be extra opportunities for Tim Duncan, Boris Diaw and Aron Baynes against the Cavaliers' lenient frontcourt. Bonner is coming off a fluky 18-point game vs. the 76ers, but he's too inconsistent for use as more than a 3-point specialist in very deep leagues. Rotoworld.com
    Wednesday, 2:40 pm
  • Larry Sanders (thigh) questionable Wednesday
Larry Sanders (thigh) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Nets.

Advice: He was a late scratch on Tuesday because of his bruised thigh, so owners will want to check back for updates prior to tip-off. If Sanders can't go, expect Zaza Pachulia to draw another start after he double-doubled on Tuesday, but anything is possible with coach Kidd. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com
    Wednesday, 10:36 am
  • DeMarcus Cousins (hip) plays well vs Pelicans
DeMarcus Cousins tweaked his left hip flexor while warming up for Tuesday's game, but he still finished with 24 points, 17 boards, three assists and two blocks vs. the Pelicans.

Advice: Needless to say, the hip injury didn't limit DMC and shouldn't be a problem going forward. The Kings jumped out to a big lead for the third straight game tonight, but once again they let it slip away and their record has fallen to 6-5 after an impressive 5-1 start to the season. They'll have a tough task staying above .500 with the Bulls coming to town for a nationally-televised game on Thursday. Rotoworld.com
    Tuesday, 9:36 pm
  • Larry Sanders (thigh) traveling on road trip
Larry Sanders (bruised left thigh) will travel with the Bucks for games on Wednesday and Friday.

Advice: He remains questionable for Wednesday's game vs. the Nets, but it's a great sign that he'll join the team for their brief two-game road trip. Zaza Pachulia double-doubled with a full line as a starter in Sanders' absence on Tuesday and would be worth a look for temporary value if Sanders misses any more games. We should know more after Milwaukee's shootaround, so check for updates on Wednesday afternoon. Rotoworld.com

  • Al Horford shoots 7-of-8 in tough home loss
Al Horford made 7-of-8 field goals on Tuesday, including one 3-pointer, to finish a tough loss vs. L.A. with 15 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two turnovers in 30 minutes.

Advice: Horford hasn't played 30+ minutes or taken 10+ shots in any of the Hawks' past four games. He's averaging just 13.7 points and 6.7 rebounds this season but he's likely just off to a slow start after missing many months following pectoral surgery. Fantasy owners should view this is a buy-low opportunity for Horford, who will need to play a bigger role for Atlanta to emerge as a legitimate playoff threat. Rotoworld.com
    Tuesday, 7:07 pm
  • Nick Young scores 17 efficient pts in debut
Nick Young (thumb) made his season debut on Tuesday, scoring 17 points with two 3-pointers, five rebounds and one steal in 28 minutes off the bench.

Advice: Swaggy P had a few typically erratic shot attempts, but he was generally under control and efficient, which isn't usually the case -- he's a 42.9 percent shooter for his career, and was at just 41.3 percent last season. Fantasy owners may find him useful for scoring and 3-point shooting, but don't expect well-rounded production. Rotoworld.com
    Tuesday, 7:05 pm
  • Nick Young to come off bench Tuesday
Nick Young (thumb) will come off the bench as he makes his 2014-15 season debut against the Hawks on Tuesday.

Advice: Swaggy's back. While Young will likely find himself in the Lakers' starting lineup sooner or later, Lakers' head coach will ease him back into action against the Hawks on Tuesday. Fantasy owners can expect Swaggy P to serve as the Lakers' second scoring option behind Kobe Bryant, but need to be aware of the low field goal percentage and minimal peripherals that will come with his scoring. • Joakim Noah says Bulls have work to do
Joakim Noah said the Bulls still have work to do after Monday's win over the Clippers.

Advice: After easily defeating the Clippers without Derrick Rose and Pau Gasol, Noah said the Bulls have some building to do. "We have a lot of work to do," Noah said. "As long as we stay humble and we keep working, keep getting better as a team, hopefully, we'll have a chance. But we're nowhere near where we have to be." While Noah's numbers haven't been exactly what his fantasy owners expected, his improved play over the Bulls' last five games should give hope that he can still return top-30 value. Rotoworld.com

  • Gibson enjoys like without Pau on Monday
Taj Gibson enjoyed life without Pau Gasol (calf) in Monday's road win over the Clippers, scoring 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting with five rebounds, six assists, one steal and two blocks in 41 minutes.

Advice: Yes, he would be quite good if Gasol (day-to-day) missed any extended time, but everybody knew that coming into the season. He still has standalone value and should be in many lineups on a weekly basis. Rotoworld.com
    Monday, 11:08 pm

  • Noah posts big popcorn line in easy win
Joakim Noah scored 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting with 16 rebounds and six assists in Monday's easy win over the Clippers.

Advice: Noah's numbers are down in enough areas to worry that he's still not at 100 percent, but he's playing and doing enough to return top-75 value. Rotoworld.com

  • Red Mamba scores 18 points in win
Matt Bonner scored 18 points with one rebound, three assists and four 3-pointers in 20 minutes against the 76ers on Monday.

Advice: The 76ers will give up big lines and this is one of the funnier ones. Bonner is not worth owning in most leagues, but he's a deep-league spot-start guy while Tiago Splitter (calf) is out. Rotoworld.com
    Monday, 10:24 pm
  • Motiejnuas can't take advantage of chance
Donatas Motiejunas logged just 18 minutes in Monday's blowout loss, scoring six points on 3-of-8 shooting with two rebounds and one block.

Advice: It's starting to feel like Terrence Jones (leg) will miss another month, and we've included the link to one of many scattered reports that had Rockets play-by-play man Bill Worrell saying that "may" be the case. But Motiejunas has been terrible in most formats this year, and it's more likely that there is no real beneficiary due to Jones' time off. Rotoworld.com
    Monday, 10:18 pm
  • Nick Young (thumb) expected to play Tuesday
Nick Young (thumb) is expected to play on Tuesday, according to Lakers reporter Mike Trudell.

Advice: Young made it through a full practice without any setbacks and his scoring ability is sorely needed by L.A., though they're in greater need of defense. Swaggy is the most likely Laker to finish second in scoring behind Kobe Bryant, but fantasy owners should anticipate low FG percentages as well as minimal assists, rebounds, steals or blocks.
