    • James intends to opt into his player option with the Heat for next season, Fox Sports reports.
Recommendation: James averaged just six minutes of action in the 38 games he appeared in with the Heat this season and has mostly become a forgotten man on the team's deep roster. If Mike Miller is released, as has been discussed as a very real possibility, and Ray Allen decides to retire or opt out of his contract, Jones could find himself playing a larger role next season.

    • James had a monster performance in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals, finishing with 30 points (12-of-24 FG, 2-of-6 3Pt, 4-of-7 FT), 10 rebounds, 10 assists and three blocks in an overtime win against the Pacers.
Recommendation: James was able to put the exclamation point on his triple-double by blowing past Indiana's Paul George for the game-winning layup as the clock expired in overtime. LBJ's stellar play from the regular season has carried over to the playoffs, as the MVP is averaging 24.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 7.6 assists and 1.5 steals through 10 postseason contests.

    • Smith has fluid build in his left knee that may have contributed to his poor shooting performance in the playoffs, the NY Post reports.
Recommendation: Smith is supposed to get the fluid drained from his in the near future, and he should be fine after that. Everything in the Post's report suggests that draining the knee and resting it for a short period of time should relieve any stiffness or swelling. Smith is expected to opt out of his contract and become an unrestricted free agent this summer. He has said he wants to remain a Knick, but it'd be somewhat surprising if Smith isn't able to spin his Sixth Man of the Year Award into a decent long-term contract.

    • Landry is expected to opt out of the final year of his contract to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, the Contra Costa Times reports.
Recommendation: Landry saw his role squeezed as the season went on until he was playing just 20 minutes in the playoffs. Though he's a decent offensive option, Landry lacks the defensive presence to justify playing starter minutes in the NBA. His option is for $4 million, but the lure in opting out of his final year is the ability to sign a multi-year at what may be a slightly reduced yearly salary. Landry's departure would open up more minutes for Harrison Barnes and Draymond Green next season.

    • Anthony underwent an MRI that revealed he's been suffering from a small left shoulder tear that may require surgery, the New York Daily News reports.
Recommendation: Anthony first aggravated the shoulder injury near the tail end of the Knicks' first-round series against the Celtics, which may explain his relatively wretched string of shooting performances during the Round 2 series loss to the Pacers. In any case, if such a procedure is required, it wouldn't seem likely to jeopardize Anthony's chances of being ready to play for the regular season.

    • White is unlikely to return with New York next season, ESPN New York reports.
Recommendation: White's agent, William McCandless, noted that White values his playing time, which was certainly lacking in New York. He started 16 games and averaged only 7.6 minutes and 2.2 points per game. White has a team option next season for about $1 million. The Knicks will have to reach a decision on what to do with him by June 30. If they do not choose to accept the team option, he will become an unrestricted free agent. If White is looking to make the most money, he may have to return to his previous career path and play for an international team. McCandless noted that there has been plenty of interest by international teams already and that White would not hesitate to go to these teams.

    • Williams has yet to be charged in the firearm incident he's been implicated in due to the prosecutors needing extra time to complete their investigation, Mass Live reports.
Recommendation: Williams has admitted to police that he pulled his gun but says he did so out of fear for his well-being. The Celtics gave Williams a multi-year contract this season, but there are several qualifiers that would allow them to cut him without paying the entirety of the contract as all of it is not guaranteed. The Celtics don't appear in any rush to make a decision regarding Williams' future on their roster, but if this issue with the police turns into a distraction, he'll likely be released.

    • George scored a team-high 27 points (7-of-16 FG, 3-of-6 3Pt, 10-of-11 FT) with four rebounds, five assists and six turnovers in 47 minutes Wednesday night in Indiana's overtime loss to Miami in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Recommendation: George had just two points at halftime, but got engaged offensively in the second half and hit a last-second three-pointer to send the game into overtime. In addition to his work offensively, George was tasked defensively with guarding LeBron James.

    • Prince saw 16 minutes of playing time in Tuesday's loss to the Spurs and finished with 2 points (1-5 FG), two rebounds, and one assist.
Recommendation: Prince hasn't been particularly effective this postseason, and he lost playing time to Quincy Pondexter and Jerryd Bayless as the Grizzlies fell into a 2-0 hole in the Western Conference Finals. Prince could be looking at a decreased role going forward, although Memphis will have three days off to figure things out, before returning to the court for Saturday's Game 3.

    • Leonard scored 12 points (5-9 FG, 2-5 3Pt) with nine rebounds in Tuesday's game against the Grizzlies.
Recommendation: Leonard played a robust 40 minutes in the game two win. His impact is on the defensive side, but Leonard's averaging 14.1 points at an amazing 56.9 percent shooting from the field. Look for Leonard to continue his strong contributions with defenses keying in on Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili.

    • Barnes passed the league's concussion tests, the San Jose Mercury News reports.
Recommendation: Barnes was held out of the entire fourth quarter of Game 6 against the Spurs due to the concussion. Having now passed concussion tests, this should not be an issue for Barnes going forward, especially with the Warriors out of the playoffs.

    • Shumpert intends to play in the Las Vegas Summer League, the New York Times reports.
Recommendation: Shumpert wants to continue working on his game, with the preparation for Las Vegas and the tournament itself providing a great offseason opportunity for contact with the coaching staff. The games will act as the second-year pro's first sniff of summer league, as he was unable to participate heading into his first two seasons due to 2011's lockout and knee surgery in May of 2012.

    • Green played in 79 games in his rookie season of 2012-13, averaging 2.9 points and 3.3 rebounds in 13.4 minutes per game. His playing time increased in the postseason to 18.6 minutes per game as he was part of the mix to replace an injured David Lee.
Recommendation: Green was a drain offensively for much of the season, shooting 32.7 percent from the field and 20.9 percent from 3-point range. Those numbers got better in the postseason, but Green's game isn't about scoring. He's a heady player capable of playing three positions and played some center during the playoffs. His versatility and IQ are valued, but he doesn't figure to be a significant scoring threat.

    • Copeland played 56 games during the regular season and averaged 8.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.1 three-pointers a game. He saw his playing time decrease in the playoffs until the final two games of the series against the Indiana Pacers. He averaged only 4.1 points, 1.2 three-pointers and 1.0 rebound during the playoffs overall.
Recommendation: Copeland is a restricted free agent, and it's unclear if he will return as a member of the Knicks. He is an excellent shooter from behind the arc for his size and provides lots of energy on the defensive end. He may find himself a fairly desirable commodity this offseason and could really increase his fantasy value if he can land with a team who will give him extended minutes.

    • Pondexter had a team-high 17 points and was 5-for-9 from three-point range in Sunday's Game 1 blowout loss against the Spurs.
Recommendation: He is the best three-point option on the Grizzlies, and was called upon to hoist with regularity to try to get the team back into Sunday's lopsided defeat. The situation called for a lot of minutes and shots for Pondexter, but we wouldn't expect him to lead Memphis in scoring in future games in this series.

    • Richardson played in only one regular season game and five playoff games for the Knicks this season. He will be a free agent this offseason.
Recommendation: Richardson is in the twilight of his career and likely won't warrant fantasy consideration next season should he play again.

    • Thompson finished up the regular season averaging 16.6 points per game on 42.2 percent shooting (40.1 percent from 3-point distance) in 82 games. During the postseason, Thompson averaged 15.2 points on 43.7 percent shooting from the field and 42.4 percent from 3-point range.
Recommendation: Thompson's sophomore NBA season was a drop off from the promise hinted at during his rookie campaign. There were often nights when Thompson's shot was not falling, and he labored under 40 percent shooting for the first two months of the season. After scoring a pivotal 34 points in a Game 2 win over the Spurs, Thompson followed up the final four games of the series with 10.3 points per game on 34 percent shooting. That illustrates Thompson's season overall. Very spotty and inconsistent. He remains a threat from 3-point range on any given night, but he may lose some shots next season to the developing Harrison Barnes.

    • Novak played 81 games during the regular season for the Knicks and averaged 6.6 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.8 three-pointers a game. He played nine games during the playoffs and averaged only 2.0 points and 0.4 three-pointers a game.
Recommendation: Novak regressed this season after averaging 8.8 points and 2.5 three-pointers a game last season. He can provide fantasy owners with solid production from the behind the arc, but isn't likely to contribute much more than that again next season.
