  • Andrew Wiggins out, Shabazz Muhammad in
Andrew Wiggins (illness) will not play while Shabazz Muhammad (hip) will on Friday.

Advice: Coach Tom Thibodeau said he wants to use his starters into the fourth, so we'll see a bunch of the other four first-unit guys. Wiggins should be OK for the opener next week. 33 minutes ago
  • Spurs: Danny Green to miss about 3 weeks
Danny Green (thigh) has been diagnosed with a left quad strain and is expected to be out approximately three weeks.

Advice: It was originally thought to be just a bruise, but now there is a strain of the muscle on Green's left leg. It's going to be tough to replace Green's 26.1 minutes per game, but Kyle Anderson figures to be the next man up along with Jonathon Simmons (calf). Green is only a last-round pick with this injury news. 42 minutes ago
  • Update: Terrence Ross in, Cory Joseph out
Terrence Ross will dress and Cory Joseph is out with flu-like symptoms for Friday.

Advice: The Raptors have said Ross is in, then out, and now he's in again today. 45 minutes ago
  • Kyle Anderson starting on Friday night
Kyle Anderson will start for Danny Green (thigh) on Friday night.

Advice: The position flexibility is helpful here and we might see Anderson run more stuff on offense. With Danny Green (thigh) possibly missing weeks, there is a chance here. He's been a little disappointing this month, so he's only a short-term option. 55 minutes ago
  • Luke Babbitt starting at power forward Friday
Luke Babbitt (groin) will start at power forward next to Goran Dragic, Wayne Ellington, Justise Winslow and Hassan Whiteside for Friday's game against the 76ers.

Advice: Interesting. There's a chance Babbitt gets the start on opening night and it is now looking like a two-horse race with him and Derrick Williams. Babbitt can shoot it and can play two positions, so he's on the radar in deep leagues. 58 minutes ago
  • Justise Winslow back in action
Justise Winslow (back) will play on Friday night.

Advice: He missed two games due to his back tweak. Winslow was expected to take on a bigger offensive role and he is up to a 20.4 usage rate in his 105 preseason minutes. The upside isn't too high on him, so he's more of a late-round pick. Today, 3:25 pm
  • Luke Babbitt and Justise Winslow will play
Luke Babbitt (groin) and Justise Winslow (back) will play on Friday.

Advice: Babbitt has been out for one week due to his groin injury. Coach Erik Spoelsta has used him at both forward spots and the Heat do love corner 3-pointers, so Babbitt could carve out a role with his new team. Plus, it helps that James Johnson (foot) is banged up. He's still only on the radar in deep leagues. Today, 3:24 pm
  • Update: Terrence Ross will not play
Terrence Ross (knee) will not play on Friday.

Advice: It was reported earlier Ross was going to play, but the Raptors will keep him out. He still should be able to suit up for the opener as the first wing off the bench. He and Norman Powell negate each other in the second unit. Today, 2:53 pm
  • Wall, Beal, Otto, Morris & Gortat will start
John Wall, Bradley Beal, Otto Porter (ribs), Markieff Morris and Marcin Gortat will start on Friday.

Advice: Due to the injuries to Markieff Morris (foot), Otto Porter (ribs) and John Wall (knees), the Wizards finally get their starters out there for a preseason game. There is some talk of Kelly Oubre taking Porter's spot, but that seems even more unlikely now. Porter is a fine pick in the later rounds. Today, 2:32 pm
  • C.J. Miles up in the air for opener
C.J. Miles (knee) did not practice on Friday.

Advice: With Miles down, the Pacers have seen Glenn Robinson III have a wonderful preseason. Miles is expected to play more stretch four in the second unit, but his minutes could be in jeopardy if GR3 keeps playing well. Today, 1:44 pm
  • Spurs pick up options on Slo-Mo
The Spurs exercised their fourth-year option on Kyle Anderson.

Advice: This was a no-brainer for the Spurs. Anderson has been a letdown this month after coach Gregg Popovich said he has to find playing time for him. If Kawhi Leonard misses time, Anderson will be a hot fantasy add. Today, 11:45 am
  • Knicks waive Cleanthony Early
    Knicks waive F Cleanthony Early.

Advice: He's most likely going to wind up with the Westchester Knicks in the D-League. Early was the very first draft pick of the Phil Jackson era. Today, 11:28 am
  • Knicks waive Damien Inglis
    Knicks waive F Damien Inglis.

Advice: He had some buzz when the Bucks took him at 31 in the 2014 draft, but injuries and a lack of an offensive game hurt his chances for playing time. Inglis might be heading overseas. Today, 11:22 am
  • Luc Mbah a Moute limited in practice
Luc Mbah a Moute (knee) was limited in practice on Friday.

Advice: He has a right knee contusion, but he's fully expected to be ready to start the season. Mbah a Mouse could start for the Clippers, but he's coming off a tiny 9.3 usage rate last year. There is not enough upside to draft him almost anywhere. Today, 11:18 am
  • Shabazz Muhammad (hip) questionable Friday
Shabazz Muhammad (right hip soreness) is questionable for Friday's game vs. the Hornets.

Advice: He went through a full practice on Thursday and should be good to go for the season opener regardless of his status for Friday. Muhammad will be instant offense off the Minnesota bench, but doesn't do much in the box score outside of the scoring column. He's not worth owning while Andrew Wiggins is healthy. Today, 9:59 am
  • Andrew Wiggins (illness) questionable Friday
Andrew Wiggins (illness) is questionable for Friday's game vs. the Hornets.

Advice: Shabazz Muhammad (hip) is also questionable. Wiggins returned to practice on Thursday, but if he is ultimately held out, it will likely just be a precaution. He will be fine for the regular season. Today, 9:57 am
  • Trevor Ariza resting on Friday
Trevor Ariza (rest) will not play vs. the Spurs on Friday.

Advice: He's a perfect in Mike D'Antoni's system and has started to turn things around after a slow start to the preseason, averaging 12.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.3 treys per game. Corey Brewer and K.J. McDaniels should both get a long look on Friday. Today, 9:20 am
  • Harden, Ariza, Capela, Gordon out Friday
James Harden, Trevor Ariza, Eric Gordon and Clint Capela will all be rested on Friday vs. the Spurs.

Advice: They have been playing heavy minutes in the preseason and deserve a night off, and they are not even traveling with the team. Harden has been borderline ridiculous during the preseason with averages of 29.0 points, 7.5 assists, 6.1 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 2.9 treys, making a strong case to be the top pick in fantasy this season. Tyler Ennis and Bobby Brown will get a look at point guard tonight. Today, 9:05 am
    New Player Note
    James Harden Hou - PG,SG,SF
  • Terrence Ross will play, Cory Joseph will not
Terrence Ross (knee) will play on Friday vs. the Wizards, while Cory Joseph (illness) has been ruled out.

Advice: Ross was able to get up some shots on Wednesday and this confirms that he will be ready for opening night, barring a setback. The Raptors have been talking him up a ton, but he's not a lock to be the first wing off the bench with Norman Powell around. Ross is only on the radar in deeper formats. Today, 8:24 am
  • Wizards pick up Kelly Oubre's option
The Wizards have picked up their team option on Kelly Oubre.

Advice: He's improved a ton since last season and is averaging 13.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.8 3-pointers through six preseason games. Otto Porter is still expected to start, but Oubre can play multiple positions and should be a significant part of the rotation. He's worth keeping an eye on in deeper formats. Today, 6:49 am
  • Shabazz Muhammad (hip) practices Thursday
Shabazz Muhammad (right hip soreness) went through a full practice on Thursday.

Advice: Muhammad is going to be re-evaluated again following Friday morning's shootaround, so for now we'll be considering him questionable for tomorrow's preseason finale against the Hornets. It's going to be difficult for Muhammad to make a difference in most fantasy leagues while the Timberwolves are at full strength. Yesterday, 1:00 pm
  • Wiggins, Muhammad practice on Thursday
Andrew Wiggins (illness) and Shabazz Muhammad (hip) went through a full practice on Thursday and will be re-evaluated on Friday.

Advice: We're going to consider both guys questionable for the preseason finale against Charlotte on Friday, but neither guy is dealing with anything that should linger into the regular season. Wiggins should be able to take another step forward under Tom Thibodeau, so he's a decent guy to gamble on during the middle rounds. Yesterday, 12:53 pm
  • Mbah a Moute (knee) doesn't practice Thursday
Luc Mbah a Moute (right knee contusion) sat out Thursday's practice.

Advice: Mbah a Moute is simply dealing with a bruised knee, and head coach Doc Rivers expects him to be fully recovered in the next day or so. Mbah a Moute will likely shuffle in and out of the starting five this season based on matchups, but his fantasy value will remain non-existent regardless of how he enters the game. Yesterday, 11:45 am
  • Luke Babbitt won't play vs Hornets on Thurs
Luke Babbitt (groin) won't play against the Hornets on Thursday.

Advice: Babbitt's injury isn't believe to be serious, so he should be ready for the start of the regular season. While Babbitt should see plenty of minutes this season, he doesn't have much fantasy value outside of deeper fantasy leagues. Yesterday, 9:32 am
  • Justise Winslow won't play vs Hornets Thurs
Justise Winslow (back) won't play against the Hornets on Thursday.

Advice: Winslow's back injury isn't thought to be anything serious, so there's nothing to worry about in terms of his availability for the start of the regular season. Winslow will be stepping into an expanded role this season and is worth a late-round pick in standard fantasy leagues. Yesterday, 9:10 am
  • Trevor Ariza not having good preseason
Trevor Ariza scored three points with six rebounds, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer in 26 minutes on Wednesday.

Advice: It's been a rough preseason for Ariza. In his five games against NBA teams this month, he's only made 29.7 percent from the field with averages of 7.2 points, 5.0 boards, 1.0 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.2 treys. His minutes should still be safe in the mid 30s and should be one of a handful of players to have at least 2.0 steals and treys. If he starts sliding in the middle rounds in standard leagues, you know what to do. Wednesday, 8:20 pm
  • C.J. Miles (sore knee) held out of contact
C.J. Miles (sore left knee) did spot-up shooting on Wednesday but he didn't participate in contact drills.

Advice: Miles won't play on Wednesday, obviously, and it's unclear when he'll be cleared to return -- the injury doesn't sound too serious but Indiana might play it safe with the veteran marksman. If he does miss time, expect Glenn Robinson III to pick up most of his minutes. Wednesday, 3:58 pm
  • Shabazz Muhammad out with hip soreness
Shabazz Muhammad (right hip soreness) will not play on Wednesday.

Advice: He did not play on Sunday, but that was reported as a rest day. Muhammad doesn't have a history with hip injuries and this is just reported as soreness, so he should be fine. Wednesday, 3:35 pm
  • Andrew Wiggins, Shabazz Muhammad out vs. MEM
Andrew Wiggins (illness) and Shabazz Muhammad (right hip soreness) will miss Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies.

Advice: Coach Tom Thibodeau is going to miss his top two small forward tonight. Brandon Rush has played mostly at shooting guard, but he should have no problem sliding over. We'll also see if Thibs wants to roll with more three-guard lineups. Wiggins should be good to go for the season. Wednesday, 3:32 pm
  • Miles (knee), Brooks (knee) out Wednesday
C.J. Miles (sore left knee) and Aaron Brooks (sore right knee) have been ruled out for Wednesday's preseason game against the Bucks.

Advice: Neither player is dealing with a significant injury, but it always seems to be something with Miles. Neither Miles nor Brooks will be worth drafting in most leagues this season. Wednesday, 10:29 am
  • Terrence Ross (knee) out Wednesday vs. DET
Terrence Ross (knee) will not suit up for Wednesday's preseason game against the Pistons.

Advice: Ross was able to get on the court for some light shooting during Wednesday morning's shootaround, so he is making progress, although it seems unlikely that he'll be able to suit up for Toronto's final two preseason games. He should be good to go by opening night, but Ross won't be a fantasy hoops factor this season stuck in a reserve role fighting for minutes with Norman Powell. Wednesday, 9:39 am
  • Wall, Beal, Oubre, Morris, Gortat starting
John Wall, Bradley Beal, Kelly Oubre, Markieff Morris and Marcin Gortat will start Tuesday vs. the Cavs.

Advice: Otto Porter is dealing with some sore ribs, so Oubre will earn the start tonight, and there could be some extra minutes available for Tomas Satoransky. Tuesday, 3:59 pm
  • Luke Babbitt (groin) out Tuesday vs. Orlando
Luke Babbitt (groin) has been ruled out for Tuesday's exhibition game against the Magic.

Advice: The injury isn't believed to be serious, but there's just no reason for the 27-year-old to rush back for a meaningless preseason game. He'll likely be good to go when the regular season tips, but he's not going to have much fantasy value at all this season. Tuesday, 3:03 pm
  • Justise Winslow (back) out Tuesday vs. ORL
Justise Winslow (back) will not suit up for Tuesday's preseason game against the Magic.

Advice: The newly signed Luis Montero will likely be earning some extended minutes tonight sans Winslow, with Derrick Williams and James Johnson picking up the scraps. Winslow should be stepping into an expanded role this year with the departure of Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh (blood clots), so he's someone to consider swooping up with a late-round selection on draft day. As for his back, Winslow said he just slept on it wrong, but believes he'll be fine by the end of the week. Tuesday, 2:56 pm
  • Knicks officially re-sign Cleanthony Early
The Knicks have officially re-signed Cleanthony Early.

Advice: Early is expected to begin the year rehabbing his hamstring injury in the D-League, and that's more than likely where he'll be spending a majority of the 2016-17 season. Tuesday, 12:48 pm
  • Otto Porter, Smith out Tuesday vs. Cleveland
Otto Porter (ribs) and Jason Smith (oblique) will miss Tuesday's preseason game against the Cavs.

Advice: It's just a precautionary absence for Porter, so he should be just fine for opening night. Scott Brooks seems to really like him, so he should be able to improve upon last year's averages of 11.6 points, 5.2 boards, 1.6 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.3 treys per contest. He's a solid mid-round target. Smith, however, will have zero fantasy value this season operating as the third-string center in Washington. Tuesday, 11:59 am
  • Justise Winslow a game-time decision Tuesday
Justise Winslow will be a game-time decision for Tuesday's exhibition game against the Magic.

Advice: Winslow isn't dealing with an injury, but head coach Erik Spoelstra might want to get an extended look at some of the new guys. If Winslow sits out Tuesday's game, look for James Johnson and Wayne Ellington to split his minutes. Tuesday, 11:31 am
  • C.J. Miles takes some practice shots on Tues
C.J. Miles (sore left knee) didn't practice, but was able to take some shots on Tuesday.

Advice: Miles will travel with the team to Milwaukee and is expected to participate in shootaround on Wednesday. While Miles looks to be on track for the regular season opener, he doesn't have much fantasy value outside of deeper leagues. Tuesday, 10:31 am
  • Otto Porter present at shootaround on Tuesday
Otto Porter (ribs) was present at shootaround on Tuesday.

Advice: The Wizards play their final preseason game on Tuesday against the Cavs, but Porter will be held out for precautionary reasons. The 23-year-old should be ready to roll for the regular season and make for a solid late middle round target after averaging 11.6 points, 5.2 boards, 1.6 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.3 triples last season. Tuesday, 10:04 am
  • Luke Babbitt (groin) questionable Tuesday
Luke Babbitt (groin) is questionable for Tuesday's game vs. the Magic.

Advice: He went through most of the non-contact practice on Monday and made it clear that the injury isn't serious. The Heat probably don't want to risk it with the regular season a little more than a week away, so he's probably a little closer to doubtful. He's on the radar in deeper leagues due to the Heat's lack of quality depth at both forward spots. Monday, 3:12 pm
  • Luke Babbitt downplays groin issue
Luke Babbitt (groin) went through most of the non-contact practice on Monday.

Advice: He said his groin injury isn't serious and hopes to play next week. Coach Erik Spoelsta is using Babbitt at both forward spots, which should be a comfortable role for him after last year with the Pelicans -- he played mostly PF there. Monday, 12:24 pm
  • Terrence Ross (knee) targeting opening night
Terrence Ross (knee) did not practice on Monday but the Raptors are expecting him back next week.

Advice: Additionally, the Raptors believe he will be ready for opening night. Ross has been hyped quite a bit by the Raptors this summer, but his fantasy outlook is still pretty bleak -- he's going to be fighting for minutes off the bench with impressive second-year player Norman Powell. Ross is only on the radar in deeper leagues. Monday, 10:59 am
  • C.J. Miles (sore left knee) misses practice
C.J. Miles (sore left knee) missed practice again on Monday.

Advice: Coach Nate McMilan said that Miles is day-to-day, but he's not a lock to be ready for opening night either. If he can't go, Glenn Robinson III could be in the rotation behind Paul George after a solid preseason. Miles isn't worth monitoring outside of deeper leagues. Monday, 10:41 am
  • Shabazz Muhammad (rest) out Sunday vs. OKC
Shabazz Muhammad (rest) will not suit up for Sunday's exhibition game against the Thunder.

Advice: Muhammad isn't dealing with any sort of injury, but this is a preseason back-to-back set, so Thibodeau is also resting his entire starting five. Nemanja Bjelica could flirt with close to 40 minutes tonight. Sunday, 3:59 pm
  • Heat will pick up Justise Winslow's option
The Heat will pick up Justise Winslow's option for the 2017-18 season.

Advice: It's just a formality for one of the most promising two-way wings in the East. Winslow has been a little underwhelming in the preseason so far with just one steal in five games, but the good news is that he's hit five 3-pointers in that span. His game doesn't translate to standard-league value real well, but he could force his way onto fantasy rosters just by playing a ton of minutes at several different positions. Sunday, 7:43 am
  • James Harden just misses a triple-double
James Harden almost dropped a preseason triple-double on Saturday with 14 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists, one steal and seven turnovers in 28 minutes.

Advice: There really is nothing left to say on Harden. He's going to have numerous monster lines in a breakneck-pace offense as the team's "point guard" this season and should be among the league leaders in points, assists, threes and steals. He makes an extremely strong case as the top pick in almost any fantasy format. Saturday, 9:11 pm
    New Player Note
    James Harden Hou - PG,SG,SF
  • Andrew Wiggins scores 23 points vs. Heat
Andrew Wiggins scored a preseason-high 23 points against the Heat on Saturday, adding four rebounds, one assist, one block and one turnover in 31 minutes.

Advice: After he struggled to hit jumpers earlier this preseason, Wiggins went back to the well with his attacking style. Although, he did have four makes outside of the paint in this game. Wiggins does only have one 3-pointer in his four preseason games, so he might not be able to clear 1.0 per game this season. He's still a decent guy to take in the middle of drafts as long as you're not reaching up too high to get him. Saturday, 8:20 pm
  • Kelly Oubre scores 15 in a spot start
Kelly Oubre started for Otto Porter (ribs) on Saturday, finishing with 15 points, three rebounds, one assist, two steals and one 3-pointer.

Advice: Porter's injury is not considered serious and he did travel. Additionally, the Wizards are now a little thin up front, so Porter will be important for minutes at the four. That should help Oubre get a few extra minutes in the second unit as a player to throw on your watch list in standard leagues. Saturday, 7:26 pm
  • Luke Babbitt (right groin) out on Saturday
Luke Babbitt (right groin) will not play on Saturday vs. Minnesota.

Advice: Babbitt's groin has kept him out for the last handful of days, and right now it's unclear when he may be able to return. In the interim, expect Derrick Williams and James Johnson to get the bulk of the minutes at power forward with Josh McRoberts (foot) also sidelined. Saturday, 3:08 pm
  • C.J. Miles (left knee) not a lock for opener
C.J. Miles (sore left knee) is not a lock to be ready by opening night.

Advice: Although he's labeled as day-to-day, nobody seems to really know when Miles will be able to get back onto the court. "He's being reevaluated as far as where he's at and being able to get on the floor," said head coach Nate McMillan. As a result, Glen Robinson III has been given a new opportunity and could be in line to begin the year in the rotation. When discussing Miles, McMillan confirmed that "Glenn has taken that spot." Saturday, 2:10 pm
  • Kelly Oubre expected to start for Otto Porter
Kelly Oubre is expected to draw the start in place of Otto Porter (ribs) on Saturday vs. Sacramento.

Advice: The starting small forward spot has been an open competition in the Scott Brooks era, and Oubre has looked like a completely different player in his sophomore season than what we saw during his rookie campaign. He'll have another opportunity to strut his stuff on Saturday, so make sure to continue to monitor his progress accordingly. Saturday, 2:05 pm
  • Otto Porter (ribs) ruled out Saturday
Otto Porter (ribs) will not play on Saturday vs. the Kings.

Advice: He is traveling with the team and the injury isn't believed to be serious. It's the preseason, so nobody should be shocked that the Wizards are playing it safe. Kelly Oubre looks like the real deal and will get a chance to impress again on Saturday. Saturday, 9:22 am
  • Kyle Anderson scores six points in start
Kyle Anderson scored six points with seven rebounds, one assist, two steals and one turnover in 18 minutes.

Advice: He might have a statue for Summer League play, but Anderson just hasn't done anything this month. Coach Gregg Popovich said he's going to have to find a way to get get Anderson minutes, but this sub-par month is taking the luster off him as a late-round pick. Friday, 8:16 pm
  • Otto Porter travels with the team
Otto Porter (ribs) traveled with the Wizards for Saturday's game against the Kings.

Advice: The game is at University of Kentucky and it sounds like Porter could be suiting up for that one. He suffered bruised ribs after a collison with Joel Embiid on Thursday and did not return. This injury shouldn't affect his fantasy value as a late middle round target. If he's out, that will be more time for Kelly Oubre. Friday, 4:43 pm
  • T-Ross out again on Friday
Terrence Ross (knee) will not play on Friday.

Advice: He tweaked his knee on a 360-degree jam in practice earlier this week. The good news is that the MRI came back clean, so he should be ready for the regular season. Friday, 2:56 pm
  • Luke Babbitt (right groin) ruled out Friday
Luke Babbitt (right groin) will not play on Friday vs. the Spurs.

Advice: Heat coach Erik Spoelstra hasn't decided who will start at power forward on opening night, but this injury could give Derrick Williams and James Johnson an edge. Babbitt should be considered day-to-day until we get another update. Friday, 9:34 am
  • C.J. Miles, Aaron Brooks ruled out Friday
C.J. Miles (sore left knee) and Aaron Brooks (sore right knee) will not play vs. the Magic on Friday.

Advice: Miles was listed as doubtful, so the Pacers will hold him out as expected. It doesn't sound serious, so he should be ready for the opener in a couple weeks. Miles averaged 11.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.8 steals, 0.5 blocks and 2.2 3-pointers on 41 percent shooting last season, but he will have a tough time matching those numbers on a revamped Pacers roster. Friday, 8:25 am
  • Otto Porter (bruised ribs) out for game
Otto Porter suffered bruised ribs on Thursday night and will not return.

Advice: He got into a collison with Joel Embiid in the second quarter and did not start the third quarter. Kelly Oubre started the third in his place and should see more burn tonight. While Porter hasn't locked up his starting job yet, he's still the heavy favorite to start at the three and see a good chunk of time at the four. Assuming he didn't suffer any structural damage to his ribs, Porter is a sneaky pick to take in the late middle rounds. Thursday, 5:48 pm
  • Terrence Ross out for Thursday
Terrence Ross (knee) will not play against the Cavs on Thursday.

Advice: He tweaked his knee on a 360 jam, but the MRI came back clean. Chances are he will be missing time with this, but there is no timetable just yet. Ross is having himself a nice preseason, averaging 13.0 points per game. He's still going to be behind DeMarre Carroll during the season, though. With him out, there should be more minutes for Norman Powell. Thursday, 4:07 pm
  • Report: NYK set to re-sign Cleanthony Early
The Knicks are reportedly re-signing Cleanthony Early.

Advice: Early is currently dealing with a hamstring injury, so he's expected to begin the year rehabbing in the D-League. There's no fantasy value here. Thursday, 2:42 pm
  • C.J. Miles (knee) doubtful Friday vs. Orlando
C.J. Miles (left knee) sat out Thursday's practice and is doubtful to suit up for Friday's preseason game against the Magic.

Advice: Miles isn't dealing with anything more than a sore knee, so he should be good to go when the regular season tips. However, his fantasy value is going to be nearly non-existent this season. Thursday, 11:23 am
  • Scott Brooks eyes Otto Porter as stretch-PF
Wizards coach Scott Brooks suggested that Otto Porter could develop into a stretch-PF role, which Porter was quick to embrace.

Advice: "[Porter's] evolution as a player, he's going to have to learn how to play some fours and using his length and his quickness guarding bigger fours," Brooks said. Porter unabashedly supported the notion, saying, "[Playing power forward] puts a lot of pressure on the defense to react to you. That's where I feel really comfortable playing that position." This should only help his fantasy outlook, and we might get a long look at Porter-as-PF if Markieff Morris' foot injury costs him any preseason games. Wednesday, 10:05 pm
  • Shabazz Muhammad sinks 7-of-10 FGs for 18 pts
Shabazz Muhammad caught fire in the fourth quarter on Wednesday, finishing a 105-88 win vs. the Nuggets with 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting.

Advice: Muhammad had a few rough shooting nights to start the preseason, but he looked great tonight. The former lottery pick attacked the basket and showed improved proficiency from deep -- he sank his only 3-point attempt tonight, making him 3-of-6 from that range in the preseason. Playing time will be the biggest challenge for Muhammad, but he'll be a popular pickup if injuries thin out the Wolves' rotation. Wednesday, 7:44 pm
  • Danny Green OK after left quad injury
Danny Green (left quad) played in his third straight preseason game on Wednesday, going scoreless on 0-of-3 shooting in 12 minutes.

Advice: Green hasn't played more than 16 minutes this preseason but he's been a full participant at practice, and we've taken him off the injury report. His shooting is under a microscope after last year's career-worst performance, but the sample size is too small to draw conclusions based on the preseason. You could do far worse with a late-round pick. Wednesday, 6:43 pm
  • Slo-Mo, Mills & Jean-Charles listed starters
Patty Mills, Danny Green, Kyle Anderson, Livio Jean-Charles and LaMarcus Aldridge are listed as the starters on Wednesday.

Advice: That means Pau Gasol could be out, but obviously it's hard to trust the "listed as starters" when it comes to the Spurs. Regardless, this definitely feels like a Kyle Anderson kind of night. Wednesday, 3:14 pm
  • C.J. Miles out, Glenn Robinson likely starts
C.J. Miles (left knee) will not play on Wednesday against the Bucks.

Advice: He was questionable to play after shootaround and the Pacers will just keep him out. Miles should see his role change a little this year with the Pacers wanting to go smaller and faster. He's still not worth drafting. Glenn Robinson should get extended run tonight. Wednesday, 3:07 pm
  • C.J. Miles (knee) questionable for Wednesday
C.J. Miles (sore left knee) is questionable to play in Wednesday's preseason game against the Bucks.

Advice: Indiana is hopeful that Miles can get on the court for "some minutes" during Wednesday's game, but if there's any question that his knee is at less than 100 percent, you can bet he'll be taking the night off. Miles won't have much fantasy value at all this year operating as Paul George's backup. Wednesday, 9:11 am
  • James Harden posts 14-8-6 line in 24 minutes
James Harden racked up the stats in limited minutes during Wednesday's preseason win over the Pelicans, registering 14 points, eight assists, six boards, one steal and five turnovers in 24 minutes.

Advice: Yes, the turnovers will likely be an issue for Harden this season, but his ridiculous stat lines will make that easy to forgive. He’ll be a popular No. 1 overall target on draft day, and justifiably so. Trevor Ariza finished the game with nine points, four boards, one triple and two steals, while Ryan Anderson tallied 11 points, seven rebounds, one triple, one block and one turnover through 22 minutes of action. • Justise Winslow fouls out in 21 minutes
Justise Winslow fouled out in 21 minutes vs. the Nets on Tuesday, scoring five points with seven rebounds and four assists.

Advice: Winslow is a dark horse to lead the Heat in minutes this season because of his ability to play several positions, but the production hasn't been there in the preseason yet. Through three games, Winslow has yet to record a steal and is shooting just 28.5 percent from beyond the arc. His value could be limited to points leagues until he improves his shooting percentages and expands his offensive game -- he averaged just 6.4 points as a rookie in 28.6 minutes per contest. • Knicks sign F Damien Inglis
The Knicks have signed F Damien Inglis.

Advice: Inglis will be suiting up for the Knicks' D-League affiliate, so there's no fantasy value here. Tuesday, 11:26 am
