  • Darrell Arthur (knee) ruled out for opener
Darrell Arthur (knee) won't play Wednesday vs. New Orleans.

Advice: Arthur is still recovering from knee surgery, and he'll likely be brought along slowly once he's cleared to play. There's no reason to own him anywhere. 43 minutes ago
  • Cody Zeller (knee) available to play vs. MIL
Cody Zeller (knee) will be available to play Wednesday vs. the Bucks.

Advice: Zeller will more than likely be brought off the bench behind Roy Hibbert in an effort to limit his minutes. He's not a fantasy option anywhere. Today, 9:15 am
  • Frank Kaminsky (foot) ruled out for opener
Frank Kaminsky (right foot) will not suit up for Charlotte's regular-season opener against Milwaukee on Wednesday.

Advice: Marvin Williams (finger) is going to play, so there won't be much of a fantasy impact sans Kaminsky. Look for Michael Kidd-Gilchrist to log some extra minutes at the four-spot. Today, 9:11 am
  • Nogueira (ankle) not expected to play Weds
Updating a previous report, Lucas Nogueira (left ankle) is not expected to play Wednesday vs. Detroit.

Advice: While he hasn't officially been ruled out, it seems very likely that Nogueira will spend opening night on the sidelines. Pascal Siakam figures to benefit most sans Nogueira, but he's can't be considered a viable target in standard settings. Today, 8:49 am
  • Jusuf Nurkic ready to be a leader for Denver
Jusuf Nurkic is ready to step into a leadership role with the Nuggets this season.

Advice: "That’s my position. Whoever takes it, I get it back," Nurkic said of earning his job back as Denver's starting center. "I’m happy to be here. I’m here for a reason. I will show, like I showed in the preseason. I will do whatever I need to be a leader on this team and to help this team win." Nurkic looked great during the preseason with averages of 12.6 points, 10.7 boards, 1.0 steal and 0.7 swats per contest in just 23.4 minutes of action, so if he can just stay healthy, he could have a very nice season. Today, 8:33 am
  • Lucas Nogueira (ankle) questionable Wednesday
Lucas Nogueria (left ankle) is questionable to play Wednesday vs. Detroit.

Advice: Nogueria suffered a sprained ankle during Toronto's final preseason game, and it looks like he could be headed for a game-time decision tonight. If he's out, Pascal Siakam and Jakob Poeltl will have some increased opportunity for minutes. Today, 8:24 am
  • Noel (knee) could exceed 3-5 week timetable?
Nerlens Noel could exceed his initial 3-5 week timetable depending on if or how often he experiences swelling in his surgically repaired left knee.

Advice: Noel's surgery was successful, and he'll now begin his rehab in Alabama, but the 76ers are going to bring him along with extreme caution. It's unclear what Noel's role will be once he's fully up to speed, but the logjam in Philly's frontcourt will make it tough for Noel to reach his full fantasy potential this season. Today, 7:25 am
  • Embiid excited to make regular-season debut
Joel Embiid is excited to make his regular-season debut, Wednesday vs. the Thunder.

Advice: "Yeah, it's special," said Embiid of playing in his first regular-season game. "I have been waiting for a long time and I haven't played in two years, and I was a high pick and [Sixers fans] have been waiting for a long time. So it's going to be special for the city, for myself, for the coaches, my teammates, and my family." Embiid will be on a strict 20-minute limit on Wednesday, so there should be better options out there to throw in your lineups on a busy 10-game night. Today, 7:14 am
  • Josh McRoberts (foot) questionable for opener
Josh McRoberts (foot) is being listed as questionable for Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Magic.

Advice: McRoberts has been cleared for contact, so there's a chance he could get on the floor for limited minutes Wednesday night. He's not a fantasy option anywhere, though. Today, 7:04 am
  • Bismack Biyombo (suspension) out Wednesday
Bismack Biyombo (suspension) will be unavailable for the first game of the season.

Advice: This is just a reminder to get Biyombo out of your lineups. Orlando is expected to roll out a starting five of Elfrid Payton, Evan Fournier, Aaron Gordon, Serge Ibaka and Nikola Vucevic for the season opener, and Vucevic should see plenty of minutes with Biyombo unavailable. Today, 7:02 am
  • DeMarcus Cousins says playoffs are the goal
DeMarcus Cousins said that his only goal this season is to get the Kings into the playoffs.

Advice: "I have one goal, that’s playoffs," Cousins told media members on Tuesday before the team boarded a plane for Phoenix. "That’s success for me right now." Through six years of NBA experience, DMC has yet to sniff the playoffs, and it would be surprising to see this Kings team break that trend. Cousins is sure to have another stat stuffing season, but cutting down on the turnovers will be key to improving his value in 9-cat leagues. Today, 6:35 am
  • Pau Gasol plays just 18 minutes vs. GSW
Pau Gasol played just 18 minutes and finished with two points, four rebounds and one assist on 1-of-4 shooting in Tuesday's easy win over the Warriors.

Advice: The Warriors didn't really use center Zaza Pachulia much and the Spurs were quite dominant without Gasol on the floor. He'll be better than this on most nights, so don't do anything crazy with Pau. Yesterday, 10:35 pm
  • Aldridge drops 26 & 14 in easy win over GSW
LaMarcus Aldridge hit 10-of-20 shots for 26 points and 14 rebounds, and added a 3-pointer and a steal in Tuesday's surprisingly easy 129-100 win at Oracle Arena.

Advice: Aldridge had his way with the Warriors tonight and looked spry. He's primed for a big season, especially given that Tim Duncan is retired. Yesterday, 10:30 pm
  • Boris Diaw held to two points in loss to POR
Boris Diaw disappointed in a start at power forward vs. the Blazers on Tuesday, scoring two points on 1-of-8 shooting.

Advice: Not many forwards can play 32 minutes and finish with just three rebounds, but it was that kind of night for Diaw. He looked a step too slow and also missed all three of his triples. It sounds like Derrick Favors (knee) is progressing, but no one knows for sure. Even with the uncertainty, it's better to leave Diaw on the wire. Yesterday, 10:08 pm
  • Rudy Gobert double-doubles with two blocks
Rudy Gobert double-doubled in Tuesday's loss to the Blazers, scoring 12 points with 14 rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 40 minutes.

Advice: He had his double-double locked up in the third quarter and most importantly, he hit 4-of-4 from the free throw line. Gobert's health was an issue last season, but the bounce-back candidate is off to a fine start to 2016-17. His minutes will eventually stabilize in the lower 30s when Derrick Favors (knee) returns, but he gets a cupcake matchup with Timofey Mozgov and the Lakers on Friday. Yesterday, 9:54 pm
  • Mason Plumlee plays just 15 minutes
Mason Plumlee played just 15 minutes on Tuesday vs. the Jazz, finishing with two points, one rebound and one assist.

Advice: He looked like a stud in the preseason and he’s locked down the starting job, but he struggled with foul trouble against Rudy Gobert. Plumlee is a nice source of rebounds and is usually good for a few assists, but it’s going to be interesting to see what happens when the Blazers add another center to mix in Festus Ezeli (knee). Give Plumlee another chance. Yesterday, 9:38 pm
  • Noel undergoes successful left knee surgery
Nerlens Noel underwent successful surgery on his left knee on Tuesday.

Advice: Early reports suggest that Noel is looking at a 3-5 week absence, but knowing the 76ers, his absence could certainly extend past that timeline. Joel Embiid and Jahlil Okafor (knee) will be picking up the slack in Noel's absence, and we could also see Brett Brown go with some small-ball lineups using Dario Saric at the five-spot with Jerami Grant earning some extended minutes at the four. Expect Noel to be handled with kid gloves once he is finally cleared to return to the court. Yesterday, 12:42 pm
  • Darrell Arthur (knee) questionable for opener
Darrell Arthur (knee surgery) is questionable to play in Denver's regular-season opener against New Orleans on Wednesday.

Advice: He still hasn't gone through a full practice, so chances are he'll spend Wednesday's game on the sidelines. Arthur is a non-factor in all leagues while the Nuggets are healthy. Yesterday, 12:27 pm
  • Boris Diaw will start at PF on opening night.
Boris Diaw will start at PF on opening night.

Advice: Diaw will start in place of the injured Derrick Favors (knee). Even though he is starting it would be surprising if Diaw played more than 25 minutes on opening night. He will likely split time with Trey Lyles. Despite coming off the bench, Lyles is the more appealing Daily Fantasy play. Yesterday, 11:07 am
  • Joel Embiid on 20-minute restriction
Joel Embiid (foot) will on a 20-minute restriction on opening night.

Advice: Embiid had been playing between 18 and 20 minutes a night in the preseason and showed no ill effects. The Sixers plan on playing Embiid for five 4-minute increments each game early on this season. Embiid in incredibly skilled and would post terrific numbers if he stays healthy enough to play 30-plus minutes. Embiid is one of the most intriguing players in the entire league this season. The downside is obvious, but the potential reward is also great. Yesterday, 10:23 am
  • Frank Kaminsky unlikely to play in opener
Frank Kaminsky (foot strain) is unlikely to play in Wednesday night's season-opener.

Advice: Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer states that it "doesn't sound like" Kaminsky will play in the season-opener. Kaminsky has been making progress, as yesterday he shed the protective walking boot he had been wearing over the weekend, but it appears as if he won't make his season debut to later this week. Yesterday, 9:45 am
  • Cody Zeller (knee) expected to be available
Cody Zeller (bruised right knee) will be available for the season opener, barring a setback.

Advice: It sounds like Zeller is making progress and appears to be on track to play; however, it is unknown if he will be on a minutes restriction. Yesterday, 9:09 am
  • Frank Kaminsky is ‘making lots of progress'
Hornets forward Frank Kaminsky (foot strain) is "making lots of progress" and is "questionable" for the season-opener.

Advice: Kaminsky, who suffered a right foot strain in Friday’s exhibition game, was well enough Monday to be walking in sneakers, rather than the protective boot he wore over the weekend. "He said he felt a lot better," coach Steve Clifford said of Kaminsky. "He did a ton [of rehabilitation] Sunday and then he was back in here this morning. I guess you’d call him questionable [for the season-opener], but he’s making lots of progress." Monday, 3:23 pm
  • Josh McRoberts (foot) cleared for contact
Josh McRoberts (left foot) has been cleared for contact, and hopes to make it back to the court "sooner rather than later."

Advice: Additionally, McRoberts said he's spent most his time at the five-spot during Heat practices, so it sounds like Erik Spoelstra envisions McBob operating as Hassan Whiteside's primary backup. It's unlikely that McRoberts will be able to see much more than 20 minutes a night in a reserve role, and he's still without an official timetable to return, so there's no reason to draft him anywhere. Monday, 10:11 am
  • Cody Zeller (knee) practices fully Sunday
Cody Zeller (bruised right knee) was a full participant in Sunday's practice.

Advice: He's questionable for opening night, but coach Steve Clifford has already conceded that Zeller will be very limited upon his return due to a lack of conditioning. Roy Hibbert will almost certainly start on opening night, but there are no guarantees he can keep the job once Zeller gets up to speed. Sunday, 5:13 pm
  • Darrell Arthur (knee) limited at practice Sun
Darrell Arthur (knee surgery) was a limited participant during Sunday's practice.

Advice: Michael Malone is hopeful that Arthur will be able to ramp of his activities during Monday and Tuesday's practice, but he remains questionable for Denver's regular-season opener against the Pelicans on Wednesday. Arthur won't be on the court enough while the team is at full strength to justify a roster spot in fantasy hoops. Sunday, 12:12 pm
  • Frank Kaminsky (foot) questionable for opener
Frank Kaminsky (right foot sprain) is questionable to play Charlotte's regular-season opener against Milwaukee.

Advice: Marvin Williams (finger) is going to play on opening night, so Kaminsky's status is more or less meaningless. If Kaminsky is out on Wednesday, it'll be Michael Kidd-Gilchrist earning some extended minutes at the four-spot, with Roy Hibbert and Spencer Hawes splitting the center minutes. Sunday, 11:40 am
  • Boris Diaw (leg) practices in full on Sunday
Boris Diaw (right leg) was a full participant during Sunday's practice.

Advice: Diaw sat out Saturday's practice with a leg bruise, but he should be just fine for opening night. Still, he won't have a large enough role in Utah to justify a draft pick in almost any format. Sunday, 11:36 am
  • Raptors pick up Nogueira's option
The Raptors have picked up their fourth-year option on Lucas Nogueira.

Advice: He had a decent preseason and it looks like he has the edge over Jakob Poeltl for the backup center role. He won't be a fantasy asset while Jonas Valanciunas is active. He is dealing with a tweaked left ankle, but said he expects to be ready for the opener. Sunday, 8:35 am
  • Report: Noel (knee surgery) to miss 3-5 weeks
Nerlens Noel (left knee surgery) is expected to be out for the next three-to-five weeks, sources told Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Advice: Noel's procedure is scheduled to take place on Monday, and we now have a better idea of just how long we can expect to see him sitting on the sidelines. This means Noel will be targeting a return in late November, and it's unclear what role he may come back to given Joel Embiid has played well and Jahlil Okafor (knee surgery) will be his backup to begin the year. Sooner or later, the Sixers will need to stop this charade and move one of these guys, but they're not going to get equal value for any of them at the current moment in time. It's a bad situation that's only getting more complicated in both fantasy and reality. Saturday, 2:07 pm
  • Boris Diaw (leg contusion) DNP on Saturday
Boris Diaw (right leg contusion) did not practice on Saturday.

Advice: It was previously reported that Diaw had a left leg contusion, but either way it does not sound serious and the veteran should be ready to roll for opening night. He could be looking at a bigger role out of the gate given Derrick Favors (left knee) faces an uncertain timetable to return. Saturday, 12:17 pm
  • Joel Embiid scores 18 points in 18 minutes
Joel Embiid scored 18 points with nine rebounds and two turnovers in 18 minutes on Friday.

Advice: It was a busy process for him this month. Embiid finished his first NBA preseason with a 37.8 usage rate -- DeMarcus Cousins led the NBA last year at 35.2. On the regular stats, he averaged 11.4 points, 6.0 boards, 0.9 blocks and 2.6 turnovers in just 14.7 minutes per game. There's a ton of risk here and you know the 76ers will be careful because of all their bad luck lately, but feel free to pull the trigger on Embiid in the later rounds to see what happens. Friday, 8:53 pm
  • Frank Kaminsky suffers right foot sprain
Frank Kaminsky suffered a right foot sprain on Friday.

Advice: That's not good and it was more than just the originally reported soreness. Kaminsky will likely be getting further evaluation this weekend to determine his prognosis and treatment. For now, we will consider him between doubtful and questionable for the opener. If he and Marvin Williams (finger) can't go, the Hornets will have to play multiple players out of position. Friday, 6:29 pm
  • Nurk Work: Jusuf Nurkic wins starting job
The starting Nuggets front court for opening night will be Danilo Gallinari, Nikola Jokic and Jusuf Nurkic.

Advice: Nobody gets more credit for earning a starting job than Nurkic. He lost around 40 pounds this offseason and quickly shed a minutes cap. He's playing with a chip on his shoulder and is running the floor better than he ever has. His awesome summer moves him into the late-middle rounds of standard drafts. Friday, 6:21 pm
  • Frank Kaminsky (right foot) to locker room
Frank Kaminsky has gone to the locker room to be evaluated for a sore right foot.

Advice: It didn't look bad and hopefully it's just soreness. Kaminsky was absolutely dominated by Karl-Anthony Towns and the Hornets have no incentive to put him back out there. With Marvin Williams (finger) questionable for the season opener, the Hornets may need Frank the Tank. Friday, 5:46 pm
  • Bebe sprains his left ankle
Lucas Nogueira (left ankle sprain) will not return on Friday.

Advice: He was in some pain due to the first half injury. Nogueira was the first big man off the bench and looked like he would be in the rotation. If he's not ready, that opens up a chance for Pascal Siakam and Jakob Poeltl. Friday, 5:36 pm
  • Nerlens Noel (knee) to have minor procedure
Nerlens Noel (knee, groin) has elected to address his injury via a minor surgical procedure "in the coming days," according to the 76ers.

Advice: That rules him out for the start of the season, and this is different from his groin injury. According to the team, "Noel reported localized soreness in his left knee. After consulting with multiple specialists, the source of the soreness was identified as inflamed plica." There is no timetable and the 76ers will undoubtedly take their time with him. At this point, Noel is only a borderline draft pick in standard leagues. Richaun Holmes and Joel Embiid benefit while Jahlil Okafor (knee) is still on a minutes cap. Friday, 3:45 pm
  • Josh McRoberts out again on Friday
Josh McRoberts (foot) will not play on Friday.

Advice: The Heat are in no rush to bring him back. McRoberts has no timetable to return. Friday, 3:21 pm
  • Boris Diaw (leg) on the injury report
Boris Diaw (left leg contusion) did not practice on Friday.

Advice: This is a new injury for Diaw. There was no indication of an injury before this, so it's likely just a light bruise. For now, expect Diaw to be available for the opener. Friday, 12:16 pm
  • Darrell Arthur (knee) ruled out Friday
Darrell Arthur (knee surgery) will not play on Friday vs. Dallas.

Advice: There was some hope that Arthur could go after he took some contact in Thursday's practice, but the Nuggets aren't going to take any chances. The Nuggets going with a big lineup of Nikola Jokic and Jusuf Nurkic hurts Arthur's outlook, especially since he's behind Kenneth Faried on the depth chart. Arthur can be considered questionable for the opener. Friday, 10:06 am
  • Bismack Biyombo scores eight off bench
Bismack Biyombo scored eight points in 26 minutes on Thursday, adding eight rebounds and one block.

Advice: The Magic are playing Biyombo next to both Serge Ibaka and Nikola Vucevic, so it looks like he's going to be able to get minutes in the 20s as a backup. If you need blocks and boards late, give The Biz a look. Thursday, 7:50 pm
  • Darrell Arthur (knee) questionable for Friday
Darrell Arthur (knee surgery) took some contact during Thursday's practice, and there's a chance he can suit up for Friday's preseason finale against the Mavericks.

Advice: Friday will mark Day-10 of Arthur's initial 10-14 day timetable, so if he wakes up feeling fine after going through Thursday's practice, he could certainly be on the floor Friday night. That being said, he's not going to have any value in fantasy hoops this season while the team is healthy. Thursday, 4:09 pm
  • Walker, Batum, MKG, Kaminsky, Hibbert start
Kemba Walker, Nicolas Batum, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Frank Kaminsky and Roy Hibbert will be in the starting lineup for Thursday's preseason matchup with the Heat.

Advice: Marvin Williams is dealing with a broken finger, and Cody Zeller (knee) still isn't 100 percent, so Kaminsky will have the opportunity to run with the starters tonight. Steve Clifford hasn't officially ruled Williams' out for opening night, but if he's not able to give it a go, it'll likely be Kaminsky opening the year as Charlotte's starting four-man. That being said, Kaminsky's value will tank once Williams' gets back on the court, so he's only worth a look as a late-round flier in deep leagues. Thursday, 3:32 pm
  • LaMarcus Aldridge says he's happy in SA
LaMarcus Aldridge said that he's happy in San Antonio and he's not buying into the rumors that the Spurs are open to trading him.

Advice: "For sure, I am," Aldridge said when asked if he's been pleased with the way things have gone in San Antonio. "We made history last year (winning a franchise-record 67 games). They incorporated me into the family and tried to make me one of the big pieces. I’m from Texas. I see my family. I’m winning. Of course, I’m happy. That’s why I don’t buy into the rumors. I feel like I’ve done everything they’ve asked of me." The original report didn't come from the most reliable source, so we wouldn't read too much into the rumors. Thursday, 1:24 pm
  • Joel Embiid targeting 18-20 minutes on Friday
Joel Embiid will play 18-20 minutes against the Heat on Friday.

Advice: Embiid did individual work at practice on Friday and will again target 20 minutes on Friday. Embiid will have his minutes restricted to open the season, but he's worth a late-round pick in standard fantasy leagues due to his upside. Thursday, 9:36 am
  • Josh McRoberts out Thursday vs Hornets
Josh McRoberts (left foot) will miss Thursday's game against the Hornets.

Advice: McRoberts has no set timetable for his return and has no fantasy value in standard fantasy leagues at the moment. Thursday, 7:42 am
  • Mason Plumlee racks up 10/8/7 in 24 minutes
Mason Plumlee notched eight points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and one steal in just 24 minutes vs. the Jazz on Wednesday.

Advice: Plumlee had an assist rate of 21.6 last season, which ranked third among PF/Cs who played at least 25 minutes per game -- only Draymond Green and Tim Duncan were ahead of him. He hasn't missed a game in the past two seasons and only needs 25 minutes to be a low-end fantasy option, yet he can routinely be taken with a flier pick on draft day. Wednesday, 8:36 pm
  • Cody Zeller (knee) iffy for season opener
Hornets coach Steve Clifford conceded that Cody Zeller (bruised knee) might not be able to play much early in the regular season.

Advice: "Bottom line is he’s not going to be ready. He hasn’t done enough," Clifford said. "You couldn’t, with any realistic expectation, think that he could possibly play much, if at all. He’s had no preseason, so there’s no way he could be ready to play." Zeller's lingering bone bruise leaves Roy Hibbert as the opening night starter, with Spencer Hawes and Frank Kaminsky as backups. Wednesday, 4:51 pm
  • Cody Zeller (right knee) ruled out Thursday
Cody Zeller (right knee) has been ruled out for Thursday's game vs. the Heat.

Advice: Zeller recently returned to practice without any setbacks, but the team is wisely being cautious with an injury that has lingered throughout the offseason. Considering Zeller's lack of on-court time this preseason, Roy Hibbert is poised to open the season as Charlotte's starting center. Wednesday, 4:17 pm
  • DeMarcus Cousins drops 23 points Tuesday
DeMarcus Cousins dropped 23 points against the Clippers on Tuesday in just 26 minutes.

Advice: He was 10-of-17 from the field with eight rebounds, two assists, one steal and three turnovers. His usage rate should be borderline insane just like it was last season, especially since his supporting cast isn't very inspiring. Things could get ugly in a hurry in Sacramento this season and he's going to turn the ball over a ton, so he's more of a second-round target in standard leagues. He's going to post some monster numbers, though. Tuesday, 9:42 pm
  • Jusuf Nurkic calms down Tuesday
Jusuf Nurkic hit just 1-of-8 shots for four points, 13 rebounds and a block on Tuesday.

Advice: He's been playing very well this preseason but never got it going tonight. It looks like he's going to start at center for the Nuggets, with Nikola Jokic sliding over to power forward. His stock has been rising and he's become a very popular center pick in the early-middle rounds of drafts. Tuesday, 7:57 pm
  • Report: SA open to trading LaMarcus Aldridge
The Spurs are reportedly open to trading away LaMarcus Aldridge should the right deal arrive.

Advice: Those close to the situation suggest that Aldridge may not be happy playing second fiddle to Kawhi Leonard in San Antonio, and Jackie MacMullan of ESPN has hinted that Aldridge could be sent packing prior to the conclusion of the 2016-17 season. Aldridge does have a player option for the 2018-19 season, so the Spurs may want to ship him out now while he still has a couple years left on his deal if things start heading south. Phoenix and Boston could emerge as potential suitors for Aldridge should anything go down, but to be clear, nothing is imminent at the moment. Tuesday, 1:02 pm
  • Bismack Biyombo (rest) out Tuesday vs. Miami
Bismack Biyombo (rest) will not suit up for Tuesday's preseason game against the Heat.

Advice: Nikola Vucevic will likely be picking up most of Biyombo's minutes tonight, with Jeff Green also getting some extended minutes. Biyombo is capable of racking up the boards and blocks in bunches, but his value will be limited as long as he's forced to split minutes with Serge Ibaka and Vucevic. Tuesday, 11:34 am
  • Joel Embiid feels 200 percent healthy
Joel Embiid said he feels 200 percent healthy, but it still getting into game shape.

Advice: Embiid's highly-anticipated NBA debut is now in sight and his health finally won't prevent that from happening. "Health-wise, I'm 200 percent," Embiid said. "Game shape-wise, I'm not 100 percent." The 22-year-old will have his minutes limited to begin the season, but he's still worth a late-round flier in standard fantasy drafts due to his upside. Tuesday, 10:29 am
  • Nerlens Noel, 76ers not talking extension yet
Nerlens Noel (groin) and the 76ers haven't talked about an extension yet.

Advice: The two sides have until October 31 to work out a deal that will keep Noel from becoming a restricted free agent after the 2016-17 season, but the two sides have yet to talk. "It's not really something that we've discussed, given some of the concerns that I think Nerlens has had, right now," said the team's president of basketball operations, Brian Colangelo. "There's been very little if any discussion with his agents about any extension scenarios." While the two sides will talk before the deadline, Noel isn't much more than a late-round pick in standard fantasy leagues due to the 76ers crowded frontcourt. Tuesday, 10:09 am
  • Jazz still hoping to extend Rudy Gobert
Jazz general manager Dennis Lindsey said the Jazz are still hoping to sign Rudy Gobert to an extension.

Advice: The two sides have until the October 31 deadline to agree to an extension that will prevent Gobert from becoming a restricted free agent after the season, but haven't made any progress yet. "We'll get something done now or later," general manager Dennis Lindsey said. "We obviously don't comment on negotiations. There are times when you get a deal that works for both sides. There are times when it's best to go into restricted free agent. Luckily, we have great trust with Rudy and his agents. Now or later, I think we're fundamentally in a good place." It sounds like something should get done to keep Gobert in Utah, but he's still worth a mid-round pick as a bounce-back candidate this year. Tuesday, 7:09 am
  • Rudy Gobert racks up 17 & 10 w/ three blocks
Rudy Gobert coasted to 17 points, 10 rebounds, three blocks and one steal on Monday, making 7-of-8 FGs and 3-of-3 FTs in 26 minutes of action.

Advice: It should be noted that DeAndre Jordan was resting tonight, leaving Gobert to face the less-than-fearsome duo of Marreese Speights and Diamond Stone. The biggest takeaway for fantasy purposes is that Gobert continues to knock down his free throws -- he's a combined 32-of-41 from the line this preseason (78.1 percent), which would shatter his previous career high. His arrow is pointing up after a disappointing 2015-16 campaign. Monday, 8:36 pm
  • Frank Kaminsky (foot) shoots 4-of-14 vs. CHI
Frank Kaminsky (foot) finished Monday's OT win vs. Chicago with 14 points on 4-of-14 shooting, three 3-pointers, three rebounds, two assists and one block in 32 minutes.

Advice: The foot injury came out of nowhere and the fact that he played big minutes in a meaningless preseason game is proof that he's fine. Kaminsky's fantasy outlook is bleak, though he's worth watching in deep leagues with Cody Zeller (knee) and Marvin Williams (finger) both ailing. Monday, 8:08 pm
  • Hill, Exum, Johnson, Diaw and Gobert starting
George Hill, Dante Exum, Joe Johnson, Boris Diaw and Rudy Gobert will start vs. the Clippers on Monday.

Advice: Derrick Favors (knee) and Rodney Hood (hand) have both been ruled out in addition to Alec Burks (knee, ankle) and Gordon Hayward (finger). We should see plenty of late-round sleeper Trey Lyles on Monday as well. Monday, 5:15 pm
  • Josh McRoberts (foot) out Tuesday
Josh McRoberts (stress reaction in left foot) will not play vs. the Magic on Tuesday.

Advice: The oft-injured forward has no set timetable for a return and has no fantasy value. Monday, 3:14 pm
  • Frank Kaminsky (foot) probable for Monday
Frank Kaminsky (foot) is probable for Monday's game vs. the Bulls.

Advice: This is the first we are hearing of a foot injury, but it's a good sign that he was listed as probable. If he is ultimately held out on Monday, the team is just being cautious. Kaminsky had 17 points, four treys and two blocks in his last outing. Oct 17, 6:18 am
  • Cody Zeller (knee) ruled out for Monday
Cody Zeller (knee) will not play vs. the Bulls on Monday.

Advice: He was cleared for contact last week and returned to practice on Thursday, but the Hornets aren't ready to throw him out there yet. Zeller is likely looking at a timeshare with Roy Hibbert, so we're not excited about his outlook. Oct 17, 6:12 am
  • Jusuf Nurkic goes for 13 & 9 in 22 minutes
Jusuf Nurkic started Sunday's game and posted 13 points and nine rebounds in just 22 minutes of action, making 2-of-6 field goals and 9-of-12 free throws.

Advice: Nurkic shot 43.5 percent from the field and 62.8 percent from the line in limited action during his first two NBA seasons. He's been tremendous this preseason, however, and coach Mike Malone sounds ready to give Nurkic significant minutes: "We think that [Nurkic and Nikola Jokic] can play well together because they are so skilled," Malone said. He's worth a long look in the late-middle rounds of standard drafts. Oct 16, 8:56 pm
  • Bismack Biyombo grabs 19 boards w/ five swats
Bismack Biyombo racked up seven points, 19 rebounds and five blocks as a starter on Sunday, adding two assists and one steal in 36 minutes.

Advice: Nikola Vucevic was resting tonight so fantasy owners shouldn't read too much into Biyombo's starting gig. It's worth noting that Frank Vogel has played Biyombo and Vuc together at times this preseason, which would be a boon for Biyombo's potential value. He shot just 3-of-10 at the line tonight, worse than usual for the career 55.9 percent shooter, but he's worth a look if you need boards and blocks in the final rounds. Oct 16, 5:50 pm
  • Payton, Fournier, AA, Ibaka, Biyombo starting
Elfrid Payton, Evan Fournier, Aaron Gordon, Serge Ibaka and Bismack Biyombo will start Sunday vs. the Hawks.

Advice: Nikola Vucevic (rest) is getting the night off, so not too much should be read into Biyombo starting over Vuc, although it'll be interesting to see how he can work with the starters. Biyombo's value will be limited to start out the year, but if Vucevic is ever traded, he could easily be a double-double guy as Orlando's starting center. For now, he's only worth a late-round flier for those seeking some help in boards and blocks. Oct 16, 1:28 pm
