  • Malcolm Brogdon (right arm) considering surgery
Malcolm Brogdon (right arm injury) said after Monday's loss to the Heat that he will consider undergoing surgery this summer.

Advice: While the Celtics continued to list Brogdon's injury as a strained right forearm, he confirmed media reports that he was dealing with a partially torn tendon. The injury, which was suffered during Game 1 of the conference finals, had a significant impact on Brogdon's shooting and ballhandling abilities. The veteran guard played just eight minutes in Game 5 before being held out of Game 6. And in Game 7, Brogdon played seven ineffective minutes. Possible surgery could impact his availability for the start of next season. From a fantasy standpoint, the move to Boston may have improved Brogdon's chances of winning a title, but his value took a hit. The NBA's Sixth Man of the Year finished the regular season just outside the top 100 in 8- and 9-cat formats, which was in line with his Yahoo ADP of 111.7.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Yesterday, 5:31 pm
  • Derrick White (left leg) to undergo MRI Tuesday
Derrick White will undergo an MRI on Tuesday to determine the severity of the left leg injury he suffered during the second half of Monday's Game 7 loss to the Heat.

Advice: White was Boston's best player for the first three periods of Monday's season-ending defeat, as Jayson Tatum was hampered by a sprained left ankle and Jaylen Brown struggled with turnovers and poor shooting. Unfortunately for the Celtics, their chances of a late rally were extinguished when White limped back to the locker room after injuring his leg. While it was announced by the team that he was available to return, White did not play another minute. From a fantasy standpoint, the question now is whether or not the issue is bad enough to keep him out for the beginning of next season. Despite a Yahoo ADP of 141.5 in 8-cat, per-game value, White finished the regular season as a 10th-round player (8th-round in 9-cat, per-game value).  NBCSportsEDGE.com Yesterday, 5:25 pm
  • Shams: Robert Williams battled stomach virus in G7
Robert Williams played in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals while battling a stomach virus according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Advice: The report on Williams playing through Game 7 with a stomach virus might explain why the Celtics center only saw 14 minutes of game action Monday night. Time Lord was reportedly "throwing up during timeouts" and when he subbed out of the game. He had been averaging a little over 19 mpg entering Game 7, putting up five rebounds and just under 10 points per game. NBCSportsEDGE.com Yesterday, 2:48 pm
  • Herroic finish? Tyler Herro expected back vs. DEN
According to Chris Haynes, "Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro (hand fracture) is ramping up workouts and is expected to make his return at some point during NBA Finals with Game 3 being the likely target."

Advice: Herro injured his hand in Game 1 of the first round against Milwaukee, and he hasn't played since. The extended series against Boston bought Herro a little more time, and he's expected to return during the Finals. His availability will likely impact the playing time of guys like Gabe Vincent, Duncan Robinson, Kyle Lowry and Caleb Martin, who have all stepped up in his absence. • Playoff Caleb ends Boston's season w/ 26/10 line
Caleb Martin was blisteringly hot Monday, hitting 11-of-16 shots for 26 points and adding 10 rebounds, three assists and a steal.

Advice: Martin was feeling it all evening, and he hit four of his six three-point attempts while finishing behind only Jimmy Butler (28 points) for team lead in scoring. Martin had his coming out party in the ECF, averaging 19.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.1 triples and making a case for ECF MVP. He and other Heat role players such as Gabe Vincent and Duncan Robinson stepped up in big ways with Tyler Herro and Victor Oladipo sidelined, and without their steady contributions, this series win would not have been possible. There’s a chance Herro is back for at least part of the Finals, but after such a stellar series against Boston, there’s no way Martin’s role is marginalized. From Charlotte outcast to Eastern Conference hero, Martin's story is a true rags-to-riches tale. We're anxious to see how he follows it up against Denver. NBCSportsEDGE.com Monday, 11:25 pm
  • Ironic: Butler wins Larry Bird Trophy as ECF MVP
Jimmy Butler delivered 28 points, seven rebounds, six assists, three steals and three triples Monday as the Heat defeated the Celtics 103-84 in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Advice: Himmy Butler led all scorers in this one, as he willed his team to yet another improbable victory. This one was perhaps the most impressive of all, as all the momentum in this series seemed to be with the Celtics after three straight wins. Butler averaged 24.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 6.1 assists in the seven-game series, avenging a loss to Boston in Game 7 of the ECF exactly one year ago. The Nuggets are monster favorites to win the NBA Finals, but as we've seen through Miami's run through the East, Butler and Co. shouldn't be counted out so easily. Game 1 of the Finals tips off in Denver on Thursday, and the Heat have opened as 8.5-point dogs. NBCSportsEDGE.com Monday, 11:18 pm
  • Injured Tatum limps his way to 14/11/4 in Game 7
Jayson Tatum turned in 14 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, a steal and a triple Monday in a 103-84 loss to the Heat.

Advice: Tatum shot 5-of-13 from the field and committed two turnovers. He turned his ankle on the first play of the game, and didn’t look the same the rest of the evening. The superstar forward could be seen grimacing in pain after multiple shot attempts and rebounds, and he limped down the court for most of his 42 minutes on the court. Notably, Tatum went 15-of-15 from the charity stripe in Game 6, but he attempted only four free throws in this one, showing his lack of aggression, likely due to the early injury. It’s a terrible ending to the series after Boston rallied to win three straight, and fans will never truly know what the outcome would have been had Tatum been healthy. The Celtics now face an offseason that will be riddled with questions surrounding the head coach and the star pairing of Tatum and Jaylen Brown. NBCSportsEDGE.com Monday, 11:08 pm
  • Clock strikes midnight: Brown turns into a pumpkin
Jaylen Brown finished Monday’s loss to Miami with 19 points on 8-of-23 shooting and added eight rebounds, five assists, a steal, two blocks, a triple and eight turnovers.

Advice: Brown led the Celtics in scoring, but the point total came from volume rather than efficiency. He was just 1-of-9 from beyond the arc and finished -17 in the final box score. In one of the biggest games of his career, Brown committed the most turnovers he’d ever committed in a regular season or postseason appearance. Jayson Tatum injured his ankle less than 30 seconds into the contest, and Brown picked the wrong moment to completely disappear. Derrick White (18 points on 5-of-12 shooting) did his best to keep Boston in the contest, but the Celtics shot a frigid 9-of-42 from three, and the bench scored 16 points on 16 shots. The blame can’t be squarely placed on Brown in this one, but star players need to deliver in the biggest moments. The Celtics have some major questions this offseason, and there’s a chance we’ve seen the last of Tatum and Brown as teammates. NBCSportsEDGE.com Monday, 10:58 pm
  • Sparks offense with double-double
Martin totaled 26 points (11-16 FG, 4-6 3Pt), 10 rebounds, three assists and one steal over 45 minutes during Monday's 103-84 victory over Boston in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Advice: Martin finished with a team-high-tying rebound total while finishing as one of two Heat players with 25 or more points in Monday's Game 7 victory. Martin, who didn't have a 25-point performance during the regular season, surpassed that mark twice in the Eastern Conference Finals and has recorded two straight double-doubles for Miami.
