  • Report: Jimmy Butler will be Most Improved Player
Jimmy Butler will be named as the NBA's Most Improved Player for the 2014-15 season.

Advice: This year might have been the toughest race for this award in quite some time. Draymond Green, Rudy Gobert, Hassan Whiteside, Kawhi Leonard and Donatas Motijeunas all deserve some consideration. Although, it was really just a two-horse race with Butler and Draymond Green, who also finished second for Defensive Player of the Year. Butler's improvement off the dribble has gone a long way and he quickly became a go-to scorer. For fantasy, Butler was a steal in drafts this season and he's likely going to be off the board in the second round next season. Rotoworld.com

  • Will Barton, Nuggets hope for extension
Will Barton and the Nuggets both hope to come to terms on an extension this summer.

Advice: "I definitely would like to come back," Barton said. "They gave me a chance. I feel like we've got some good guys on this team, and if we keep building we have a strong future." There's almost no doubt he'll get a qualifying offer, which will make him a restricted free agent. In the two months with the Nuggets, Barton averaged 11.0 points, 4.6 boards and 1.2 steals. • Quincy Pondexter has left knee scoped
Quincy Pondexter had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Wednesday morning and a return timetable will be announced soon.

Advice: While the prognosis is not yet known, this procedure is usually a 4-6 week recovering time. He played a little more while the Pelicans were missing guys like Jrue Holiday and will likely just see minutes in the teens while the team is at full strength. His contract is through the 2017-18 season. Rotoworld.com

  • Thunder could retain Kyle Singler
According to general manager Sam Presti, the Thunder could re-sign Kyle Singler.

Advice: "With regards to Singler, finding a player in free agency that can shoot close to 40 percent from the 3-point line over the course of a season, embrace various roles, and stand as one of your more fundamental players at 6'9 is unlikely when over the cap and tax," Presti said. "Therefore, we are hopeful we will be able to keep working with him in the future." Despite these encouraging words from Presti, Singler struggled to find playing time even when Kevin Durant went down, so it's hard to imagine him having any fantasy value if he stayed in OKC. • Alan Anderson may need surgery on ankle
Alan Anderson may need to have surgery on his ankle this summer to clean up some bone spurs.

Advice: It isn't clear how much time he would miss if he decided to undergo surgery, but we will update his status as soon as we know more. Anderson is set to become a free agent and all indications point to him leaving Brooklyn, so we will continue to follow this story closely. At this point in his career, Anderson likely wouldn't have a substantial role regardless of where he lands. Rotoworld.com
