Player Notes

  • Stephen Curry scores 32, but Warriors fall to Mavs
Stephen Curry ended Tuesday’s loss to Dallas with 32 points, five rebounds, five assists, five triples and four turnovers.

Advice: The Chef did his best to keep his team cooking throughout the tightly contested affair, but the Warriors couldn’t get it done against Luka Doncic (41/12/12). Curry has struggled with efficiency against the Mavericks over the last five games, shooting under 40% from the field and under 30% from three. Curry is having arguably the best season of his career, posting career highs across the board with 31.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 7.1 dimes per game. He’ll look to get his team back in the win column when the Warriors face the Bulls on Friday. NBCSportsEDGE.com 36 minutes ago
  • Jonathan Kuminga double-doubles in narrow loss
Jonathan Kuminga posted 14 points, 10 rebounds, two blocks, an assist and a triple in Tuesday’s loss to Dallas.

Advice: Kuminga turned in his best all-around effort of the season, logging 26 minutes and posting the third double-double of his career. Kuminga’s minutes fluctuate on an unpredictable basis night-to-night, so it’s nearly impossible to figure out when he’ll pop off. He contributed in a big way in the narrow loss, hitting his only three-pointer in the final minutes with victory still within reach and coming down with three key offensive rebounds. The second-year man could be a viable fantasy play if Steve Kerr ever gave him consistent playing time, but until that happens, he can remain on waiver wires in most leagues. • Tim Hardaway Jr. snaps out of funk with 22 points
Tim Hardaway Jr. managed 22 points, four rebounds and two assists in Tuesday’s win over Golden State.

Advice: Hardaway Jr. was uncharacteristically efficient in this one, nailing 8-of-16 shots, including 5-of-11 from beyond the arc. After scoring just 14 points on 5-of-29 shooting across his last four games, it must have been a relief to see this performance for the handful of fantasy managers who had the intestinal fortitude to include him in their lineups. Jason Kidd seems committed to keeping THJ in the starting lineup moving forward, but he’s not a must-add off the waiver wire due to his one-dimensional game. NBCSportsEDGE.com 58 minutes ago
  • Luka Doncic waxes Warriors with 41/12/12/4/1
Luka Doncic finished Tuesday’s win over Golden State with 41 points, 12 rebounds, 12 assists, four steals, a block and four triples.

Advice: Coming into this one, Doncic averaged 33.0 points, 8.4 boards, and 6.0 assists over seven regular-season games against the Warriors across the last two seasons. He added another feather in his cap Tuesday with a monster triple-double, his fifth of the season and the fourth in his career against Golden State. This was the 20th 40-point game of Doncic’s career, which ties him with Dirk Nowitzki for second-most in team history behind only Mark Aguirre’s 22. Luka leads the NBA in scoring and he’s nearly averaging a triple-double in an MVP-caliber season. Fantasy managers have come to expect these ridiculous stat lines, as the Mavericks need them from Doncic to stay competitive in games. NBCSportsEDGE.com Today, 10:22 pm
  • Marvin Bagley disappears after first quarter
Marvin Bagley managed 13 points, seven rebounds, two assists and three triples in Tuesday’s loss to New York.

Advice: Bagley had a big first quarter, going for 11 points, four rebounds, and three triples, but he was relatively quiet after that. Bagley’s got some limited fantasy appeal in deeper leagues, but Isaiah Stewart’s return signals the end of Bagley’s run as an option to consider in 12-team leagues. NBCSportsEDGE.com Today, 10:07 pm
