    • Omer Asik said he just wants to defend and rebound with the Pelicans this season.
Advice: When Anthony Davis heard about that comment, his smile was "like Kool-Aid Man," but thankfully he didn't bust through any walls. Asik won't be asked to score much and will likely just be a two-category fantasy asset. Plus, he's not a great free throw shooter. Fantasy owners shouldn't look to target him until the last round or so.

    • Omer Asik averaged 9.9 points, 8.4 boards, 1.6 blocks and 0.7 steals in his seven FIBA World Cup games.
Advice: The blocks are the most surprising. Asik only had career-high 1.1 blocks per game in his 30.0 minutes per game in 2012-13. He is very likely to start for the Pelicans this year, but he's not a lock for 26-plus minutes because the team will have to figure out how to play Ryan Anderson off the bench, which will slide Anthony Davis to center.

    • Omer Asik scored 11 points to go along with 10 rebounds, two assists, one steal, and two blocks during Turkey's semi-final loss to Lithuania on Tuesday.
Advice: Turkey's FIBA World Cup of Basketball run will end in the quarterfinals, but Asik had a strong showing during the tournament. The 28-year-old gutted through flu-like symptoms on Tuesday and will now prepare to provide fantasy owners with above average rebounding numbers that should him him pegged as a late-round target on draft day.

    • J.J. Hickson received a five game suspension for violating the NBA's drug policy.
Advice: It's for marijuana and he will not be paid for those games. Hickson is recovering from ACL surgery and is hoping to be ready for training camp. With Hickson out, Kenneth Faired will get all the minutes he can handle while JaVale McGee and Timofey Mozgov will hold down the center spot. Hickson is not worth drafting in most leagues.

    • Dwight Howard's driver's license has been suspended in Florida for a failure to pay a fine, according to court documents.
Advice: The report states that Howard racked up 12 citations for failing to pay highway tolls, 10 tickets for running red lights in Orlando, four speeding tickets, and one ticket for failing to update his home address. He paid all of the tickets except for one, which led to the suspension, and it shouldn't be hard for him to come up with the $285 he owes -- he's set to earn $21.4 million with the Rockets this season.
