  • Clifford wants to go smaller on offense
Coach Steve Clifford wants to play as much one-in, four-out lineups as possible.

Advice: In other words, he wants one big man and shooters on the outside. Reading between the lines here, that sounds really good for Marvin Williams, who just cashed in on a four-year, $54.5 million deal. Last year, Williams was one of the biggest surprises of the NBA, turning in a career-high 58.5 true shooting percentage over 81 games. Fantasy owners seem to perpetually doubt him after disappointing for so long, so he's a really nice value pick in the late rounds. Rotoworld.com 52 minutes ago
  • Jackson wants Melo to run the lane more often
Phil Jackson wants Carmelo Anthony to run the lane more frequently.

Advice: Jackson believes the new guards on the roster in Derrick Rose and Brandon Jennings will allow Melo to get out and run, something new coach Jeff Hornacek wants to do. At the end of the day, Melo is pretty well-established in his tendencies and it would be surprising to see a major change in his game at this stage of his career. Rotoworld.com Today, 1:22 pm
  • Miami Heat release statement on Chris Bosh
The Miami Heat have released an official statement on Chris Bosh stating that the team is unable to clear him to take the court.

Advice: "The Miami HEAT and Chris Bosh, in consultation with team doctors and other physicians, have been working together for many months with the mutual goal of having Chris return to the court as soon as possible. Chris has now taken his pre-season physical. The Miami HEAT regret that it remains unable to clear Chris to return to basketball activities, and there is no timetable for his return. We are not able to comment further in light of Article XXII, Section 3(e) of the NBA Collective Bargaining Agreement, which precludes a team from releasing certain medical information without a player's consent." Bosh remains hopeful that he'll be able to play in the NBA again, but as has been the case since last season, there remain more questions than answers and the search for clarity is again clouded by fog. • Pacers have standing max offer to Paul George
The Pacers have a standing max contract offer to Paul George.

Advice: Bird wants to sign George to a max deal as soon as PG-13 is ready. "I know he don’t want to talk about it all year and I don’t either," Bird said. "We want Paul here and we know what it’s going to cost and what it’s going to take. If Paul wants to get a deal done, we will. It’s a max deal. There’s no others, so there’s no use talking about it. If he wants it, he’s got it." All the attention will now turn to George and his future plans as the Pacers prepare to begin the 2016-17 campaign. Rotoworld.com Today, 12:09 pm
  • Asik hoping to bounce back this year
Omer Asik said he's hoping to bounce back after dealing with back, calf and ankle issues last season.

Advice: "I just kept playing through things," Asik said. "But injuries just happened over and over. That’s why I tried to focus on getting stronger, so I won’t face those problems again. I worked all summer to get healthy. Right now, I’m feeling great, much better than last year." He was brutal last season to put it nicely, and it's possible he could lose his starting job to Alexis Ajinca. The Pelicans would also be wise to use Anthony Davis at center in smaller lineups, so Asik will need a tremendous camp in order to hold onto his role. Don't draft him. Rotoworld.com Today, 9:10 am
