Player Notes

  • Thomas Bryant double-doubles in 23 minutes Sunday
Thomas Bryant posted 18 points, 10 rebounds, an assist and a block across 23 minutes in Sunday’s win over Toronto.

Advice: Bryant pulled down double-digit boards for just the third time this season, and he finished with his second double-double of the campaign. The backup big man averaged 5.6 points and 3.6 rebounds across 11.4 minutes in 38 appearances for Miami this season, providing frontcourt depth behind Bam Adebayo. The minutes were his fewest since his rookie campaign, and Bryant should fill a similar role for Miami for the upcoming playoff run. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago
  • Bobby Portis turns in 17/10/1/2/2 line vs. Magic
Bobby Portis led Milwaukee with 17 points (6-of-9 FGs), 10 rebounds, one assist, two steals, two blocks and three 3-pointers against Orlando on Sunday.

Advice: Portis stepped up and had a big performance in this one as he continued to start at power forward with Giannis Antetokounmpo still sidelined. It is unclear if Giannis will be able to suit up in Game 1 against the Pacers, and if he ends up missing time in the series, Portis will remain in the starting unit in his place. He did most of his work early in this game, as Portis entered halftime with 14 points and seven rebounds. This was an ugly loss for the Bucks, but they’ll have a week to recover before round one tips off. Whether Portis starts or comes off the bench, he will play a pivotal role for them. Khris Middleton tied Portis to lead the team in scoring with 17 points. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago
  • Jarrett Allen tallies 14 points in season finale
Jarrett Allen shot 7-of-7 from the field in Sunday’s loss to Charlotte, amassing 14 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 23 minutes.

Advice: Like fellow starters Evan Mobley and Max Strus, Allen did not play during the fourth quarter. Cleveland was outscored 32-14 in the final stanza, but it was clear that the decision-makers wanted to avoid Philadelphia or Miami (who will play for the 7-seed) at all costs. Allen and the other Cavaliers starters will play their usual minutes when the playoffs begin, beginning with a first-round matchup with 5-seed Orlando. Rotoworld 26 minutes ago
  • Evan Mobley posts 14/6/5 stat line vs. Hornets
Evan Mobley played 25 minutes in Sunday’s 120-110 loss to the Hornets, scoring 14 points (5-of-13 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs) with six rebounds and five assists.

Advice: Cleveland had three of its usual starters (Mobley, Jarrett Allen, and Max Strus) in the lineup to begin Sunday’s game. After halftime, It became clear that the Cavs wanted no part of the 2-seed in the East (and a potential matchup with Philadelphia or Miami). As a result, Mobley only played 25 minutes, and the deep reserves floundered their way to a loss that left the fans displeased. Mobley and the Cavaliers will face Orlando in the first round, with Cleveland holding home-court advantage. Rotoworld 31 minutes ago
  • Myles Turner drops 31 points in 22 minutes vs. ATL
Myles Turner led the Pacers with 31 points (13-of-17 FGs), 12 rebounds, four blocks and three 3-pointers in a 157-115 win over the Hawks on Sunday.

Advice: Indiana has had no issues with Atlanta this season, and that held true in this game. They dominated the Hawks from the opening tip, which included a big night from Turner. He had 11 in the first quarter and ended up having at least 30 points for just the second time this season despite only playing 22 minutes. Turner wasn’t the only big that dominated Atlanta in this game, as Pascal Siakam also poured in 28 points. Seven different Pacers scored in double figures, including three reserves. This was an excellent all-around game for a team that will enter the postseason on a high note. Next up, they’ll get a week off before taking on the Bucks in round one. Rotoworld 50 minutes ago
