Hi everyone! Welcome to the 16th year of this league. I thought I'd make a Commissioner's Note to address the new role changes that were voted on at the draft and to give the new guy, Shawn a quick overview (everyone say hi to Shawn!).
1. Rule Change A: There will be a limit of 7 roster moves per week which will begin being enforced the week after the All-Star break, throughout the playoffs. Previously there was no limit at any point in the season.
2. Rule Change B: Now, when you add a player off free agency, you will receive them that day, assuming neither the player you add nor the player you drop for him have begun their game that day yet. Previously, add/drops were finalized on the next day.
Players dropped will still go to waivers, but whoever wins that player off waivers (if any) should receive him on the day the waiver claim goes through.
3. Jamil is back! So "The Die" is retiring. If you didn't know what The Die was, it's not important now. This is just for those who knew. He had a good one night run.
4. Quick overview for Shawn.
a. It's fifteen categories with fifteen players. Ten are active at a time, in the positions you'll see when you look at your roster. Each week is head-to-head, and each category goes to your overall win/loss record.
b. The first thing you'll want to do right now is start looking at all the undrafted players because, while we draft 12 (and that's how many you currently have on your team), as I mentioned above, you can hold up to 15. We leave these last three spots for everyone to attempt to fill off the waiver wire (which takes two days to pass). So attempt some waiver claims for a bunch of guys, prioritize them in the order you'd like to try to get them, and cross your fingers that you end up with your favorites! Waiver priority begins with the opposite of the draft order.
c. Most questions can be answered here somewhere in the Yahoo Fantasy page or via Google, but the other league members and I will gladly answer anything as well!
Let's have an awesome, fun, and competitive year, gang!
