  • Hey Everyone,

    Our League was less competitive than most of us wanted last year. In large part, that is a credit to the excellent skills of Gufo67, Niz, and Jazz Army. Sadly, it also was in part due to Killa Beez scuttling its team.

    In order to correct this issue, something has to be done to re-balance the League. Accordingly, I decided at the end of last season to redistribute unilaterally some players from the top teams to the squads at the bottom.

    At the time, I did not know exactly how I would execute this plan; however, a method has since become clear to me. Niz and Jazz Army had 12 and 13 keepers, respectively. The team with the next-most keepers was Jason's Team, with 9. Accordingly, I decided to take the tenth round keepers from Niz (2nd place) and Jazz Army (3rd place) and give them to Muck Fichigan (19th place) and Y Wizards Y (18th place). Instead of having those players, Niz and Jazz Army will get tenth round picks, as well as be able to hold onto all other players designated as keepers (both prior to and subsequent to the tenth round). Conversely, Muck Fichigan and Y Wizards Y lose their tenth round picks, but gain some pretty decent players as "keepers". The end result is that Gordon Hayward is now on Muck Fichigan, and Mikal Bridges is now on Y Wizards Y.

    You may notice that, although Killa Beez finished in last place in 2018-19, that team is not set to benefit from the foregoing arrangement. This omission is intentional, as it seems unjust for Killa Beez to be further enriched for tanking. Killa Beez worked the system to position itself to gain the top overall pick. That's fine, but any additional benefits would send the wrong message to other owners.

    You may notice further that reigning League Champion, Gufo67, also has not been mentioned in these arrangements. That is because Gufo67 (selflessly?) did not designate any keepers this year. Accordingly, that team's entire roster is up for grabs in the draft.

    In closing, I hope that the measured adjustments that have been made will help produce our most competitive season yet.

  • PLEASE DESIGNATE YOUR KEEPERS BY NO LATER THAN MIDNIGHT PACIFIC TIME ON OCTOBER 13th, after which I will lock the keeper selections. Also, be sure to SET YOUR DRAFT RANKINGS BY NO LATER THAN MIDNIGHT PACIFIC TIME ON OCTOBER 20th. I will initiate the AutoDraft shortly thereafter.

    As with prior years, there is no limit on keepers. Simply be aware that keepers will be slotted at the top of the draft - e.g., selecting one keeper player means you forfeit your first round pick, selecting two keepers means you forefeit your first and second round picks, etc.

    The draft order is based on the reverse order of finish from last season. Accordingly, teams will pick in the following order:
