Dear league,
Jarett and I have decided to allow teams to trade draft picks. Our reasoning is that because this is a keeper league, many teams have strategized to build for the future, while others are playing for it now. Trading draft picks can help with both of these strategies the same way they do in the NBA. But, let me clarify some of the logistics. Firstly, when you propose a trade, you will see 1-12 draft picks available. As you know, our league will only have a 5 round draft for rookies and free agents only. Therefore, when proposing a deal with draft picks, they MUST be between rounds 1-5. Also, no one can trade a player directly for a draft pick. The amount of draft picks people give up and receive must be equal, otherwise the structure of our draft will not work (and yahoo does not allow it anyways). Of course, trades involving draft picks will go under the same procedures as all other trades. Jarett and I will be in charge of keeping track of draft picks. Reminder for the offseason:
There will be a 5 player expansion draft sometime after the NBA draft. In the draft you can either select a rookie or a free agent. Since we are expanding the rosters by 2 spots going into next year, during the NBA preseason you must cut 3 players from your roster (anyone from your roster, not just from the expansion draft).
-The draft will NOT be snake but rather like the NFL draft with the team with the league's worst record picking first in each round.
-If a player on your team retires, then you will receive a supplementary 6th round pick whose order will also be decided by the league records from this year. If you have multiple retirees then you receive a 7th, 8th, etc. pick as well.
-League postseason champion will automatically receive the last pick in each round, but or else the order is decided by regular season record from worst to best.
-In the case of a tie in regular season records, the order will be decided by where yahoo placed the teams with the lower ranked team picking ahead.

From now on all trades involving more than 2 teams will be processed at 12:00 a.m. 2 days after the trade is announced. So there will be somewhere between 24-48 hours to veto the deal.

Correction- we cannot make the trade today because commissioners cannot drop players that have already played. It will go through tonight at 12:00 AM.

To my dear colleagues,
We have a three way trade to announce between Greg, Jared, and I. Jarett and I (commissioners) felt the easiest way to facilitate the deal would be through using commissioner tools. However, we obviously would like to give everyone an opportunity to veto the deal. If you would like to do so, you may either comment on this message saying so, privately message Jarett on Facebook (for he is not involved in the deal and is unbiased), or you can cast your vote on a poll I will shortly create on Facebook. The trade will go through 24 hours from now if it is not vetoed.

There's a paypal fee I have to cover if you send the money to me that way, so if you attend UCLA I'd rather you just give me the money during the holidays or whenever you come home.
