  • Dion Waiters working on his finishing at rim
Dion Waiters said he's working on his ability to finish around the rim.

Advice: "Coaches told me to be aggressive, be me, do what I do best, get to the rack," Waiters said. "I get there with the best of them. It’s about me finishing when I get there. I work on it every day." That's arguably one of Waiters' biggest weaknesses, but he said Goran Dragic gave him some tips on how to improve including "being physical, lowering my shoulder." Tyler Johnson (shoulder) is questionable for Monday's game vs. the Warriors, so Waiters could be busy once again after scoring 33 points with three rebounds, three assists, one steal and five 3-pointers on Saturday vs. the Bucks. • Anthony Brown was claimed off waivers by ORL on Sunday January 22. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 11:45 pm
  • Larry Nance returned to action on Sunday January 22. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 11:45 pm
  • Shabazz Muhammad scores 20 points Sunday
Shabazz Muhammad scored 20 points off the Wolves' bench on Sunday, making 9-of-14 shots with two 3-pointers, five rebounds, one assist and one steal.

Advice: Muhammad did his damage in 33 minutes, but tonight's outburst is no reason to run to the waiver wire. He's had some nice scoring performances in January, averaging 1.2 triples with solid percentages, but he's added a combined total of two assists, three steals and zero blocks in 10 games. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:38 pm
  • Gorgui Dieng struggles w/ fouls in 17 minutes
Gorgui Dieng picked up three quick fouls and never got back on track Sunday, finishing with four points on 2-of-3 shooting in only 17 minutes of action.

Advice: Dieng added one board, one assist, two steals and one block without any turnovers. Shabazz Muhammad was excellent tonight and the Wolves found success with smaller lineups, all of which added to Dieng's disappointing output. There are more small-ball teams on the horizon this week, with matchups vs. the Suns, Pacers and Nets, but Dieng's owners shouldn't hesitate to deploy him. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:30 pm
  • Danilo Gallinari plays 35 minutes in return
Danilo Gallinari scored 14 points with six rebounds, four assists and two 3-pointers in Sunday’s 111-108 loss to the Timberwolves.

Advice: Gallo has been dealing with a nagging ankle injury and was considered questionable heading into this game. However, he and teammate Gary Harris (ankle) finished with the most minutes for Denver tonight, which suggests that Gallo's ankle is fine. Barring any setbacks, it will be business as usual for him on Tuesday against the Jazz. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 6:58 pm
  • DeMarre Carroll scores double-digit points
DeMarre Carroll scored double-digit points for the first time in a week on Sunday, making 4-of-12 FGs and 4-of-4 FTs to finish with 14 points, four boards, two steals, one block and two 3-pointers.

Advice: Carroll avoided serious damage when he injured his neck on a scary play last Wednesday, but his play hasn't been indicative of good health -- he averaged 3.3 points on 19.1 percent shooting in Toronto's previous three games. His role has fluctuated this season depending upon matchups, so he's not the safest option with Lucas Nogueira, Jared Sullinger and Patrick Patterson (knee) all in the frontcourt mix. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 5:56 pm
  • DeMar DeRozan hurts right ankle on Sunday
DeMar DeRozan injured his right ankle during Sunday's game, which he finished with 22 points (6-of-17 FGs, 10-of-11 FTs), four assists, three rebounds, one steal and one block.

Advice: He was visibly frustrated after landing on a teammates foot halfway through the fourth quarter. He continued to play for a while, but didn't return after exiting with 1:30 left in a one-point game. The Raptors have a day off before facing the Spurs on Tuesday, so we'll keep a close eye on his status in case the ankle worsens overnight. If he misses any time, expect Terrence Ross to gain the most, with help from Norman Powell and DeMarre Carroll. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 5:54 pm
  • Nick Young plays 27 mins in blowout loss
Nick Young (knee) scored nine points with two rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 27 minutes on Sunday against the Mavericks.

Advice: Young, who suffered a hyperextended left knee on Friday, played the second most minutes for the Lakers in a blowout, so his knee appears to be just fine. In the last five games, he has averaged 27.8 minutes, 13.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.0 steal per game. Barring any setbacks he should play his regular allotment of minutes moving forward. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 5:06 pm
  • Larry Nance (knee) logs 10 mins off the bench
Larry Nance (knee) logged 10 minutes off the bench in his return from a 15-game absence on Sunday, registering four points, one rebound, one block and one turnover.

Advice: Nance is going to be brought along slowly after missing the past month of action, but he’s someone to keep an eye on. He’s been a sneaky late-round guy on the year with averages of 7.0 points, 5.5 boards, 1.3 dimes, 1.2 steals, 0.6 blocks and just 0.8 turnovers per game on 58.7 percent shooting, and as one of the building blocks in Los Angeles it would make sense to see him eventually be flirting with minutes in the high-20s. He’s a quality deep league stash with mid-round upside. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 3:37 pm
  • Wesley Matthews (hip) expected to play Wed
Wesley Matthews (right hip strain) is expected to play vs. the Knicks on Wednesday, according to coach Rick Carlisle.

Advice: We'll hedge our bets until he's officially cleared to play, but this is still an extremely encouraging report after watching him limp off the court on Sunday. When asked if he'd play vs. the Knicks, he replied, "That's the plan." He benefits from having two days off, and he's known for battling through injuries, so it would be a surprise if he's ultimately ruled out. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 3:05 pm
  • Harrison Barnes held to six points on Sunday
Harrison Barnes was held to just six points on 3-of-12 shooting Sunday, to go with five boards, two assists, one turnover and nothing else through 27 minutes of playing time.

Advice: Barnes just couldn’t buy a bucket, and unfortunately, this lackluster outing snapped his 44-game streak of scoring in double figures. That being said, Barnes has been solid more often than not this season, so his owners can anticipate a bounce-back performance on Wednesday with a matchup against the Knicks. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 3:02 pm
  • Danilo Gallinari (ankle) will play on Sunday
Danilo Gallinari (ankle) will play on Sunday, as expected.

Advice: Gallo was listed as probable, so this isn't a surprise, but his status was worth confirming with Denver in the second half of a back-to-back set. Deploy him as usual tonight. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 2:51 pm
  • Wesley Matthews (hip) will not return Sunday
Wesley Matthews (right hip strain) will not return to Sunday's game against the Lakers.

Advice: Matthews asked to come out of the game with 1:16 left in the second quarter and was sporting a noticeable limp on his way to the locker room, so it's not surprising to see him ruled out for the remainder of the game. He'll end his evening with 13 points, three triples, two boards, two assists, one steal and one turnover in 14 minutes, and for now, we'll consider him questionable for Wednesday's game against the Knicks. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 1:45 pm
  • Patrick Patterson (knee) out Sunday vs. Suns
Patrick Patterson (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Suns.

Advice: Patterson was able to go through a full practice on Saturday, and while head coach Dwane Casey said acknowledged that he's now pain-free, he wants to be extra cautious and give Patterson an extra day to rest up. The Raptors have a back-to-back set coming up Tuesday vs. San Antonio and Wednesday in Memphis, and it seems likely that Patterson will be able to get back for at least one of those games. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 1:22 pm
  • Report: CHI actively shopping Nikola Mirotic
The Bulls are reportedly actively shopping Nikola Mirotic.

Advice: The Bulls are clinging to the No. 8 spot in the Eastern Conference seeding, and they're hoping a roster shake up can boost their spot in the standings. Mirotic could technically see an uptick in value if he lands in a situation where he can start, but even when he's starting, consistency is always an issue. If Mirotic does end up getting traded and the Bulls don't bring another big back, Taj Gibson and Bobby Portis would see a boost in value. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 1:06 pm
  • Nick Young (knee) will start Sunday vs. DAL
Nick Young (knee) will start Sunday vs. the Mavericks.

Advice: Young suffered a hyperextended left knee on Friday, but played through it, and there's no word on a minutes limit for tonight's game. He is wearing a protective sleeve on his knee, but he should be fine and is safe to activate anywhere you have him. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 12:35 pm
  • Kevin Durant scores 15 points with full line
Kevin Durant posted his 17th double-double of the season on Sunday, racking up 15 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, one 3-pointer, three steals, two blocks and one turnover in 29 minutes.

Advice: If there’s one negative thing we could say about Durant, it’s that he’s been a pretty awful screen setter for the Dubs this season. Luckily, screen setting is not a category in fantasy hoops, and in all that statistical categories that matter, The Duranchula is an absolute monster. He's hitting career-highs in boards (8.5), blocks (1.7) and field goal percentage (54.6) which are just a few reasons why he ranks No. 1 overall this year. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 11:30 am
  • Draymond Green struggles in win over ORL
Draymond Green couldn't get his shot to drop during Sunday's win over the Magic, going 1-of-7 from the field on his way to six points, 10 boards, four assists and three turnovers in 33 minutes.

Advice: Serge Ibaka made life difficult for Green in this one, but his owners can fully expect a bounce-back performance with a much more favorable matchup against Miami on Monday. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 11:27 am
  • Rudy Gay (Achilles) to have surgery Monday
Rudy Gay will undergo surgery to repair his ruptured left Achilles tendon on Monday.

Advice: Gay has already been ruled out for the season. The Kings have lost five straight games and are in danger of falling out of the playoff hunt, and they will have to rely on Garrett Temple and Matt Barnes to fill the void left by Gay. He was expected to decline his player option for the 2017-18 season, so it will be interesting to see if this injury changes his plans. We won't have a timetable until Monday afternoon at the earliest. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:36 am
  • Anthony Davis (quad) expected to play Monday
Anthony Davis (right quad) is expected to play on Monday vs. the Cavaliers according to coach Alvin Gentry.

Advice: Davis missed his second practice in a row on Sunday, but the Pelicans are likely just being cautious with their franchise center. Gentry said Davis' injury is "basically a charley horse," but keep in mind that he's been battling through an absurd amount of other ailments recently. While Davis said he's getting better every day, he added that he's still sore and is "not sure" about his status. Davis will be officially listed as questionable. Regardless of his status, Terrence Jones should be owned as an elite handcuff. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:15 am
  • Danilo Gallinari (ankle) probable for Sunday
Danilo Gallinari (ankle) is probable for Sunday's game vs. the Wolves.

Advice: When a player is probable on the injury report in Denver they are usually a lock to play, but just keep in mind that this is second night of a back-to-back set. Gallinari's ankle issue has lingered all week, but he has been playing well and had 18 points with four rebounds, two assists and two 3-pointers in 32 minutes on Saturday. Juancho Hernangomez will be in the rotation if Gallo is held out. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 8:16 am
  • Casey encouraging Sullinger to shoot
Raptors coach Dwane Casey is encouraging Jared Sullinger to shoot triples.

Advice: "If he is wide open, those are good shots for him," Casey said. "He has made those in his career, he just has to make sure he is ready to shoot them conditioning-wise." Sullinger is just 1-of-6 from deep so far this season and is only 27.5 percent from deep in his career, so fantasy owners should keep their expectations in check. Sully has played 14 and 17 minutes in his two appearances, so it will be interesting to see what his workload looks like on Sunday vs. the Suns with the Raptors expected to be at full strength. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 8:04 am
  • Andre Iguodala could be rested on Monday
Andre Iguodala could be rested on Monday vs. the Heat.

Advice: He's going to play on Sunday vs. the Magic and could see a couple more minutes with Shaun Livingston resting, but the Warriors are contemplating giving Iggy the day off on Monday. Their final decision likely hinges on the workload he sees vs. the Magic. If he's rested, Ian Clark and Patrick McCaw would be candidates to see a bump in minutes. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:41 am
  • Evan Fournier (heel) out again on Sunday
Evan Fournier (heel) will not play on Sunday vs. the Warriors.

Advice: His return is not "imminent" and it sounds like the Magic are prepared for him to miss additional time -- the Magic signed Anthony Brown to a 10-day contract to provide some emergency depth on the wings. C.J. Watson will draw another start at shooting guard, but fantasy owners can ignore him for now after he scored five points in 31 minutes on Friday. Expect to see a lot of two-PG lineups with Elfrid Payton and D.J. Augustin getting a boost. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:23 am
    Injured

  • Magic sign Anthony Brown
The Magic have signed Anthony Brown to a 10-day contract.

Advice: Brown was cut by the Lakers during the preseason and had a short stint with the Pelicans this season. He averaged 3.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.7 triples in 15.9 minutes per game in nine appearances in New Orleans, so his upside is obviously pretty low. Even with the Magic banged up on the wings, Brown is not a viable fantasy pickup. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:10 am
  • Jabari Parker punished for talking to media
Jabari Parker was punished on Saturday for violating a team rule that prohibits disclosing locker room discourse to the media.

Advice: The Bucks held a private team meeting on Friday in which Parker voiced "his frustration with the lack of togetherness," but then he revealed to the media what happened in the locker room which was against team rules. The Bucks have lost five straight games, but his benching during the first quarter on Saturday was likely a one-time thing. Parker is fully expected to return to the starting lineup on Monday vs. Houston. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:06 am
  • P.J. Tucker not worried about potential trade
P.J. Tucker said he's not concerned about a potential trade.

Advice: "It’s part of business,'' Tucker said. "Contract year. Being a defensive player, a lot of teams are looking to make an addition to fight for a championship. But for me, it’s just focusing on being with my team and trying to win games. It happens every contract year. A lot of talk. A lot of it’s just rumors and people talking, but you never know in business. You just try to stay ready and block it out." The Suns are hoping to get a first-round pick in return for Tucker, and so far the Clippers, Bulls, Cavaliers, Timberwolves and Hawks are all rumored to have some interest. To be clear, Tucker would lose most of his fantasy value on all of those teams. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 6:27 am
  • Danilo Gallinari returned to action on Saturday January 21. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 10:48 pm
  • Danilo Gallinari scores 18 in return
Danilo Gallinari (ankle) returned after a one-game absence against the Clippers on Saturday, scoring 18 points with four rebounds, two assists and two 3-pointers in 32 minutes.

Advice: The Nuggets are just rolling as an offense and it really hasn't even mattered who starts. Coach Mike Malone seems hellbent on playing Gallinari big minutes and was headed to the upper 30s today because he didn't play in the final nine minutes for garbage time. Gallo is a must-start guy, but the injury risk is real. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 9:47 pm
  • Austin Rivers scores 16 points in start
Austin Rivers scored 16 points with two rebounds, five assists and two 3-pointers in 26 minutes as the starting point guard against the Nuggets on Saturday.

Advice: The fact that he started over Raymond Felton was a good sign, but getting smoked in the first half negates that. With Blake Griffin (knee) getting really close, it should affect Rivers the most because he's more of a score-first guard and that's not needed as much next to BG. Plus, he has been a nightmare on defense. He's a hold for the rest of the month, but may fall off in February. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 9:24 pm
  • Nikola Mirotic scores 11 points in win
Nikola Mirotic scored 11 points with five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer in Saturday's 102-99 victory over the Kings.

Advice: It was his best game since returning from illness, but nothing to be too excited about. He can frustrate owners with his volatility. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 9:23 pm
  • Marreese Speights scores 18 in start
Marreese Speights scored 18 points in a start against the Nuggets on Saturday, adding three rebounds, two assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 28 minutes.

Advice: His 74th start of his career and first since January 2015 did not result in a win despite his strong start. Speights came off the bench to start the second half, so this may have been a matchup move. Speights has been hanging in the mid-rounds these days, but his value will take a hit once Blake Griffin (knee) comes back. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 9:19 pm
  • Anthony Tolliver struggles vs. Bulls
Anthony Tolliver hit 2-of-7 shots for six points with one rebound and two 3-pointers in Saturday's loss to the Bulls.

Advice: Tolliver continues to struggle and has now scored fewer than 10 points in four of his last five games, averaging 27.8 minutes, 6.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game during that stretch. With Rudy Gay (Achilles) out, more was expected out of Tolliver, but he has not lived up to the hype and is far from a must-own player at this point. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 9:10 pm
  • P.J. Tucker scores 15 off Suns bench
P.J. Tucker played 36 minutes and hit 6-of-10 shots and two 3-pointers for 15 points, three rebounds, two assists and three steals in Saturday's win over the Knicks.

Advice: We got good Tucker tonight, but he had scored eight or fewer points in his previous four games. He's getting heavy minutes and is worth keeping an eye on going forward, but we'll need to see more games like this one before getting too excited. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 7:35 pm
  • Dion Waiters scores season-high 33 points
Dion Waiters hit 12-of-19 shots for a season-high 33 points with three rebounds, three assists, one steal and five 3-pointers in Saturday's 109-97 win against the Bucks.

Advice: As expected, coach Erik Spoelstra used the old C.J. McCollum rotation move for Waiters, giving him 100 percent of the backup point guard minutes tonight. Tyler Johnson (shoulder) is day-to-day with his surgically-repaired shoulder from last year, so he could miss time despite being day-to-day. Waiters should have value in that time, so he's worth a pickup for owners seeing good short-term output and some top-150 kind of numbers once Johnson is back. Josh Richardson (foot) would hurt him too. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 7:14 pm
  • Jabari Parker plays 31 minutes off the bench
Jabari Parker came off the bench for violating team rules and scored 16 points with seven rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block in 31 minutes of Saturday's 109-97 loss to the Heat.

Advice: Parker played well despite the benching and the fact he got 31 minutes was a savior if he was in your lineup tonight. He should be back in the starting lineup for the next one and even with tonight's benching, he's averaging 17.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.0 3-pointers on 43 percent shooting over his last five. The only surprise here, albeit mild, was that Thon Maker, and not Michael Beasley, got the start. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 6:58 pm
  • Mile High Buckets: Mo Speights starting
Marreese Speights will start against the Nuggets on Saturday.

Advice: Mo Buckets has been lighting it up with treys in 17 straight, so he'll be taking those into altitude. Speights in a starting role is very intriguing, but it's hard to pick him up long term with Blake Griffin getting closer. If you want to use him for this week, give him a look. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 5:31 pm
  • Dion Waiters sticking in the starting unit
Dion Waiters will stick in the starting lineup against the Bucks on Saturday.

Advice: This is somewhat interesting with Tyler Johnson (shoulder) out. With Goran Dragic as really the only ball-handler, we will probably see Waiters be used in a C.J. McCollum-esque role. In other words, he'll likely be staggered from Goran Dragic to make him the backup one to go with his starting two duties. He should be busy tonight and gains value while Johnson is out. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 3:56 pm
  • Jabari Parker benched for team rule violation
Jabari Parker has been benched for Saturday's game against the Heat due to a team rule violation.

Advice: Those are really all the details we have so far on this. Coach Jason Kidd is about as unpredictable as they come, so Parker could play anywhere from zero seconds to 47 minutes and 59 seconds. Thon Maker will get the start with Parker being punished. Obviously there's no long-term concern here, but DFS owners probably want to steer clear of this situation today. Although, you have to like Giannis Antetokounmpo even more. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 3:27 pm
  • Jabari Parker to bench, Thon Maker to start
Thon Maker will start for Jabari Parker against the Heat on Saturday.

Advice: Coach Jason Kidd is at it again. The Bucks are on the road for the back-to-back set, so Jabari getting the night off clearly comes to mind here. There's an off chance the team just wants to get a look at Maker, but that's quite the sharp adjustment. We wouldn't suggest using Parker in DFS today. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 3:14 pm
  • Anthony Davis (right quad) doesn't practice
Anthony Davis (right quad) did not practice on Saturday.

Advice: Coach Alvin Gentry said he doesn't believe it will be a long-term issue. Davis has been taking an absurd amount of bumps and bruises lately and he was limping around for most of the second half on Friday. He's gone to the locker room more often than not lately, which has been a thorn in the side of his fantasy owners in DFS and in season long. The Pelicans are off until Monday, so he should be better for that one. Terrence Jones should still be owned in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 11:23 am
  • Patrick Patterson (knee) practices fully
Patrick Patterson (knee) went through the Raptors full practice on Saturday.

Advice: With Lucas Noguiera (concussion) also sidelined Friday night, the Raps went small and started Norman Powell and DeMarre Carroll at the forward spots. Jared Sullinger and Pascal Siakam saw 17 and 19 minutes, respectively, off the bench. The Raps next game is Sunday vs. Phoenix. We will have to wait for an update regarding Patterson's status for that contest. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 10:33 am
  • Gallinari (ankle) says he will play Saturday
Danilo Gallinari (ankle) says he will play Saturday vs. the Clippers

Advice: Gallinari sat out Thursday's game vs. the Spurs after logging heavy minutes on his nagging ankle earlier in the week. The Nuggets have been unafraid to play Gallinari plenty even when he is dealing with bumps and bruises. Feel free to insert Gallo back in your starting lineup for Saturday. Gallinari's return will cut into Will Barton and Jamal Murray's minutes. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 10:05 am
  • X-Rays negative on Nick Young's knee
Nick Young was diagnosed with a hyperextended left knee on Friday night but was able to return to the game and the X-rays taken were negative.

Advice: Young finished with 15 points, five 3-pointers, three rebounds, one assist and one steal in 26 minutes. Young said his knee was "a little sore" after the game, "but the win made it feel much better." He should be ready to roll for Sunday's game against the Mavs. In fact, he could see additional minutes if D'Angelo Russell (knee/calf) misses the contest. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 8:09 am
  • Anthony Davis (quad) receiving treatment
The Pelicans did not provide an update on Anthony Davis' quad injury on Friday night, saying only that they would "take a look at it."

Advice: Davis suffered a right quad contusion seven minutes into the third quarter. Here is the full quote from coach Alvin Gentry: "He got kneed, we'll take a look at it. He got hit early on and he tried to play through it, and obviously it got to the point that it didn't make sense for him to be out there." Davis did not speak to the media after the game because he was receiving treatment. Remarkably, it was the fifth time in the last six games that Davis either left a game or missed it entirely because of an injury. The Pels don't play again until Monday, so we will likely have to wait for a formal update. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 6:56 am
  • Nikola Mirotic scores five points
Nikola Mirotic made 1-of-6 from the field for five points with four rebounds, two assists and five fouls in 17 minutes against the Hawks on Friday.

Advice: When Bad Mirotic shows up, he shows up in emphatic fashion. These are the breaks with him, but he is still worth owning in standard leagues unless there is an irresistible free agent out there. Rotoworld.com Friday, 10:44 pm
  • Nick Young hits five treys, scores 15 points
Nick Young (knee) returned from an injury scare in Friday's 108-96 win over the Pacers and scored 15 points in 26 minutes.

Advice: He hyperextended his left knee in the second quarter, but X-rays were negative and he returned for the second half. Young was moving well and hit five 3-pointers with three rebounds, one assist and one steal, and while he did say his knee was "a little sore" after the game, he should be fine for Sunday's game vs. Dallas unless the Lakers want to be cautious. Rotoworld.com Friday, 10:44 pm
  • Kevin Durant scores 32 points in win at HOU
Kevin Durant was on his A game during a 125-108 win in Houston on Friday, making 12-of-19 from the field for 32 points with four rebounds, seven assists, two steals, two blocks and two 3-pointers.

Advice: He was just awesome on the defensive end in what has been an underrated part of his game in his career. The Warriors also made all of their shots off KD passes today. Obviously, it's about his offense and you may need a microscope to spot a KD slump. Durant has turned in a true shooting percentage below 60 in two consecutive games in just one instance this year. That and the stats across the board make him fantasy's No. 1 player this season. Rotoworld.com Friday, 10:28 pm
  • Draymond Green fills it up in a win
Draymond Green was key in the win over the Rockets on Friday, scoring 15 points with eight rebounds, seven assists, one steal, three blocks and three 3-pointers in 33 minutes.

Advice: The Dubs get all the credit for their offense, but their defense was a big reason why they won this game. Green actually only played eight minutes at the five in this game, which is somewhat surprising with how the Rockets count on perimeter scoring so much. Despite a three percent dip in usage and a four percent dip in true shooting percentage, Green is still a first-round value in standard leagues. It's not all about scoring, you guys. Rotoworld.com Friday, 10:14 pm
  • Anthony Davis gets banged up yet again
Anthony Davis suffered a right quad contusion against the Nets on Friday, finishing with 22 points, nine rebounds, four assists, one steal and two blocks in 27 minutes.

Advice: That's yet another injury for Davis. In the last week, we have him down for bumps and bruises to the following areas: right quad, left hip, right hip, tailbone, left fingers, left thumb and right wrist. Before the injury, he was actually going off, but he was limping throughout the second half. He'll likely be on the injury report, but he has until Jan. 23 to get right. Rotoworld.com Friday, 9:22 pm
  • Nick Young (knee) starts second half Friday
Nick Young (knee) started the second half of Friday's game vs. the Pacers.

Advice: He hyperextended his left knee in the second quarter, but X-rays were negative and it sounds like he escaped with a minor tweak. Young is moving well as we report this, but check back after the game for an update. Rotoworld.com Friday, 9:02 pm
  • Nick Young (left leg) to the locker room
Nick Young limped to the locker room in the second quarter on Friday.

Advice: He had a tweak to his left knee on a non-contact injury and couldn't put weight on it as he hopped off the floor. Young was in a lot of pain along the baseline for about two minutes before going back to the locker room. If he's out, Jordan Clarkson and Lou Williams will be busy. We'll likely see more Jose Calderon and Brandon Ingram, as well. Rotoworld.com Friday, 8:29 pm
  • DeMar DeRozan struggles in Charlotte
DeMar DeRozan scored 23 points with three rebounds, two assists and two 3-pointers in 31 minutes against the Hornets during an ugly 113-78 loss on Friday.

Advice: In case you missed it yesterday, DeRozan was named to the All-Star starting group for the East. DeRozan was soaring earlier this season as the NBA's top scorer, but now he's almost tied with DeMarcus Cousins for fifth and sixth. He is still playing well, but DeRozan hasn't been a top-30 player on the season for standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Friday, 7:01 pm
  • DeMarre Carroll looks healthy in his return
DeMarre Carroll made a start at power forward against the Hornets on Friday, scoring two points with one rebound, one steal and one block.

Advice: Before the game, coach Dwane Casey said Carroll wasn't hurt after his neck injury on Wednesday. Carroll did only make 1-of-7 from the field, but it's probably not due to his injury. The Raptors have dropped the restriction and he does have sixth-round value in his last 10, so he should be owned in all standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Friday, 6:56 pm
  • Larry Nance (knee) cleared to return Sunday
Larry Nance (knee) will return to practice on Saturday and will play limited minutes on Sunday vs. Dallas.

Advice: He's not going to play on Friday vs. the Pacers, but this is huge news for the Lakers. His minutes will be held in check right out of the gate, but Nance is worth keeping an eye on going forward with the Lakers rebuilding. Nance averaged 7.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.6 blocks and 1.2 steals in 22.4 minutes on 58.4 percent shooting prior to the injury, so it makes sense to put him on your watch list. Rotoworld.com Friday, 6:46 pm
  • Jabari Parker scores 25 w/ three triples
Jabari Parker scored 25 points with six rebounds, six assists and three 3-pointers in 38 minutes vs. the Magic on Friday.

Advice: The Bucks really struggled tonight but Parker was one of the few bright spots. He finished 8-of-17 from the field and 6-of-7 from the line, and this was his fourth game of January with three or more 3-pointers. It's going to be interesting to see how the rumored return of Khris Middleton (hamstring) will impact Parker's touches, but his owners have no reason to be concerned. Rotoworld.com Friday, 6:42 pm
  • Jared Sullinger gets 17 minutes
Jared Sullinger played 17 minutes against the Hornets on Friday with three points, two rebounds, two blocks and one 3-pointer.

Advice: That's an increase from his 14 minutes in his debut on Wednesday. The Raptors look to be viewing him as a backup center for now, but not having Lucas Noguiera is obviously a factor on that. Sullinger will likely have a minutes limit for a long time and his upside isn't great anyway, so he's not the most attractive add. Rotoworld.com Friday, 6:37 pm
  • Shabazz Muhammad could be moved soon?
Shabazz Muhammad could be involved in a potential trade between the Wolves and Pistons.

Advice: The two teams are discussing a potential PG swap of Reggie Jackson for Ricky Rubio, but ESPN's Marc Stein is reporting that the deal could involve other players such as Muhammad. We'd have to know what other pieces are involved before speculating on Muhammad's potential value in Detroit, but he doesn't have much upside and isn't worth stashing in most leagues. To be clear, a deal isn't imminent. Rotoworld.com Friday, 5:51 pm
  • Larry Nance getting closer to return
Larry Nance (knee) did some sprints in front of the Lakers training staff on Friday night.

Advice: In case you missed it, he is still out for tonight. He will be reevaluated later tonight to see if he can play on Sunday. Nance has a good chance to play and was thriving before his injury, so he makes sense to grab for owners looking for something new at the end of their bench. Rotoworld.com Friday, 4:59 pm
  • Anthony Davis wearing right wrist tape
Anthony Davis was wearing right wrist wrap in warmups on Friday before the game against the Nets.

Advice: To be clear, he is fully expected to play without any restriction. Davis suffered a minor wrist injury on Wednesday, but he did return. He has recently suffered injuries to his left hip, right hip, right wrist, left fourth and fifth fingers, left thumb and tailbone in the last week. All that said, he could have a massive game today against the NBA's fastest team. Rotoworld.com Friday, 3:16 pm
  • DeMarre Carroll (neck) to play Friday
DeMarre Carroll (neck) will play Friday vs. Charlotte.

Advice: This is simply confirmation, as Carroll told the media earlier in the day that he planned to play. Prior to being injured on Wednesday, Carroll had been playing some of his best ball of the season, averaging 13.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.6 3-pointers per game over the Raps previous eight contests. Rotoworld.com Friday, 2:10 pm
  • Bebe Nogueira, Pat Patterson out again
Patrick Patterson (knee) and Lucas Noguiera (concussion) will not play against the Hornets on Friday night.

Advice: We'll see if the Raptors are going to play Jared Sullinger a little more, but it's unlikely to be much more than his 14 minutes. Pascal Siakam should get some added run at power forward, but the Raptors could definitely go small a lot against a smaller four in Marvin Williams. Rotoworld.com Friday, 2:05 pm
  • Danilo Gallinari (ankle) questionable for Sat
Danilo Gallinari (ankle) is listed as questionable to play against the Clippers on Saturday.

Advice: Back on Wednesday, he was listed as probable for Thursday, but he did not play in the loss to the Spurs. Gallinari was only ruled out about 30 minutes before the game started, so he was fairly close to playing. If he's out again, Juancho Hernangomez could get another start, but he would be a risky play with Wilson Chandler likely back. Rotoworld.com Friday, 1:06 pm
  • Stein confirms report on P.J. Tucker
ESPN's Marc Stein confirmed the Suns are looking for a first-round pick in a P.J. Tucker deal.

Advice: This coincides with a local Arizona report, saying the Suns still have some interest in trying to resign Tucker. In a good portion of coach Earl Watson's post-game interviews, he talks about Tucker helping the team's identity, so the coach clearly likes having him around the young players. If Tucker is dealt, T.J. Warren would be a big winner while the Suns may get a look at Dragan Bender playing more three. Rotoworld.com Friday, 12:14 pm
  • DeMarre Carroll (neck) will play Friday
DeMarre Carroll (sore neck) confirmed that he will play Friday vs. Charlotte.

Advice: Carroll took a knee to the head in Wednesday's game and was unable to return. His neck is a little stiff, but he avowed to suit up Friday night, reminding the Toronto media that he considered himself a "warrior." Carroll may be in line for extra minutes on Friday, assuming he can handle them, as both Patrick Patterson (knee) and Lucas Nogueira (concussion) are doubtful. Rotoworld.com Friday, 10:44 am
  • Patrick Patterson (knee) doubtful for Friday
Patrick Patterson (knee) appears unlikely to play Friday vs. Charlotte.

Advice: Patterson has missed four straight games due to knee issues. Lucas Nogueira is also doubtful, leaving the Raps shorthanded in the frontcourt. Pascal Siakam will likely start. Jared Sullinger (foot) returned Wednesday and played 14 minutes. He should see around 15 minutes again on Friday. Norman Powell and Terrence Ross could also see additional minutes off the bench. Rotoworld.com Friday, 10:35 am
  • Evan Fournier (heel) ruled out Friday
Evan Fournier (heel) has been ruled out of Friday's game vs. the Bucks.

Advice: This news is certainly not surprising, as plugged-in, Magic beat writer Josh Robbins recently termed Fournier's return as "not imminent." Friday will be the fourth straight game Fournier has missed after aggravating a right-heel injury that also caused him to miss five games from Dec. 23 through Jan. 2. With Jodie Meeks (thumb) sidelined for the next 4-6 weeks, Orlando will have to lean heavily on Mario Hezonja and C.J. Watson to pick up the slack for Meeks and Fournier. D.J. Augustin will also likely see an uptick in minutes playing alongside Elfrid Payton in the backcourt. Rotoworld.com Friday, 8:12 am
    Injured

  • Evan Fournier (heel) unlikely to play Friday
Evan Fournier (heel) is unlikely to play Friday vs. Milwaukee.

Advice: The Magic have yet to release their game notes for Friday's matchup with the Bucks, however, Fournier's return is "not imminent," according Josh Robbins. "It’s really, really frustrating," Fournier said. "I don’t sleep at night right now, and there’s nothing I can do. So my focus right now is on getting better because that’s the only thing I can control." With Jodie Meeks (thumb) expected to miss 4-6 weeks, Orlando is extremely shorthanded at shooting guard. Mario Hezonja and C.J. Watson will see a major uptick in minutes until Fournier returns. D.J. Augustin will also see additional time playing off the ball. Rotoworld.com Friday, 7:49 am
    Injured

  • Larry Nance (knee) making steady progress
Larry Nance (knee) practiced Wednesday and Thursday without any reported setbacks, but has not been cleared to play on Friday.

Advice: Nance, who has missed 16 straight games, will have his knee reevaluated on Friday night to determine if he can play Sunday vs. Dallas. "If it was up to me, I wouldn’t have missed any time," Nance said. "But I’m just happy to be nearing getting back out on the court." Nance will have value when returns, assuming he can stay healthy, especially if Luol Deng (wrist) is sidelined. Rotoworld.com Friday, 7:19 am
  • Anthony Davis aiming to win All-Star MVP
Anthony Davis said that he will definitely do his best to take home MVP honors in the 2017 NBA All-Star Game, which will be played in New Orleans.

Advice: 'I'm definitely going after trying to get MVP, especially here in New Orleans. 'Coach Gentry told me every time I catch it, put it up. So I'm going to go out there and represent the city and try to walk away with that MVP for sure," said Davis. The Brow also talked about how he is becoming more comfortable playing center. ''I like playing the four, but right now with the team that we have and the way we are playing with small ball, it's helpful and I'm beneficial to the team at the five." Rotoworld.com Friday, 6:18 am
  • Austin Rivers scores 20 points vs. T-Wolves
Austin Rivers scored 20 points with two assists, one rebound, one block and two 3-pointers in Thursday's 101-104 loss to the Timberwolves.

Advice: Rivers fouled out with five seconds left in the game, but was feeling it tonight as he scored 20 points for just the sixth time this season. He continues to play big minutes, averaging over 35 minutes per game in January and playing at least 31 minutes in eight consecutive games. With Chris Paul (hand) out for 6-8 weeks, Rivers will remain a big part of the Clippers offense until Blake Griffin (knee) comes back. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 10:11 pm
  • Wesley Matthews scored 18 points in loss
Wesley Matthews scored 18 points with five rebounds, one assist, one block and four 3-pointers in Thursday's 95-99 loss to the Heat.

Advice: He’s been shooting the ball well from beyond the arc with 15 3-pointers in his last four games. Matthews has now scored in double figures in four consecutive games, including three games with at least 18 points. Despite tying his career-low 38.8 field goal percent this season, his peripheral stats have been just fine. He has a tough matchup on Friday against the Jazz, but has scored in double-figures each time he has faced them this season. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 7:20 pm
  • Harrison Barnes scored 15 points in loss
Harrison Barnes scored 15 points with seven rebounds, two assists and one steal in 34 minutes on Thursday against the Heat.

Advice: Barnes struggled immensely in the second half with James Johnson covering him, making just one field goal. That being said, he still had a decent evening considering the matchup and continues to average a career-high 20.6 points per game. The Mavs head back home to take on the Jazz on Friday night, a team Barnes has faced off against twice and is averaging 35.6 minutes, 17.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.0 steal per game against. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 7:12 pm
  • P.J. Tucker scores just two points
P.J. Tucker scored two points with five rebounds, two assists and two steals in 29 minutes against the Cavs on Thursday.

Advice: Coach Earl Watson always plays Tucker against top-notch wings, so that explains the playing time. As you can see with his stat line, he's not really doing much with his minutes. Tucker has actually been a ninth-round guy in his last 10, but a possible trade and a low upside makes him a borderline asset in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 6:38 pm
  • Danilo Gallinari (ankle) ruled out vs. Spurs
Danilo Gallinari (ankle) has been ruled out to face the Spurs on Thursday night.

Advice: He was probable on Wednesday, but was downgraded this morning to questionable. The Nuggets have continuously listed him as probable for several points this season and would play him, but they'll sit him against Kawhi Leonard. Hopefully, it's just a one-day thing for the oft-injured forward. Will Barton should get massive minutes tonight while Jamal Murray and Juan Hernangomez get some decent burn. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 5:04 pm
  • Rudy Gay suffers full rupture of Achilles
Rudy Gay suffered a full rupture of the left Achilles tendon and will miss the rest of the season.

Advice: He is going to have surgery in the coming days. This is a brutal blow for the Kings, who were in the mix to fight for the eighth seed. It's just as bad for Gay and now he may not opt out of his $14.2 million player option for next season at age 30. For the rest of the season, the Kings may look to Garrett Temple, Anthony Tolliver and Matt Barnes to step up. The last stint Gay missed, it was Temple turning in the best value. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 2:35 pm
  • Larry Nance ruled out for Friday night
Updating a previous item, Larry Nance (knee) has been ruled out for Friday against the Pacers.

Advice: He did almost everything in practice on Wednesday and did everything in practice on Thursday. It sounds like getting cleared is the last hurdle for Nance and he will be re-evaulated on Friday to see where he is for possibly playing on Sunday. Nance has actually held seventh-round value per game in standard leagues, so he's worth a look now that he's close. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 1:02 pm
  • Larry Nance has a chance to play Friday
Larry Nance (knee) has a chance to play on Friday against the Pacers and is listed as questionable.

Advice: Coach Luke Walton said Nance looked good in practice, but said the possibility of him playing isn't a medical opinion. He still needs to be cleared from his bone bruise in his knee, but going through two practices in a row is a great sign. The Lakers could be without Luol Deng (wrist), so Nance could have some value. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 12:45 pm
  • Gallinari (ankle) downgraded to questionable
Danilo Gallinari (right ankle) has been downgraded to questionable for Thursday's game vs. the Spurs.

Advice: He was listed as probable on Wednesday, so this is a concern. However, a conflicting report from Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post said Gallinari is a "go." The forward has been on the injury report in his previous three games, but played 30, 40 and 39 minutes in those three contests. If he's unable to play, rookie Juan Hernangomez could see a sizable bump in minutes. Will Barton should also be a workhorse on the wings. Hopefully we'll have more clarity soon. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 9:18 am
  • P.J. Tucker drawing interest around the NBA
P.J. Tucker is reportedly drawing interest from around the league.

Advice: Tucker is on the final year of an affordable deal, as he's on the books for just $5.3 million. With the Suns rebuilding, it's no secret that they will listen to offers for their defensive stopper. According to this report, the Clippers, Bulls, Cavaliers, Timberwolves and Hawks all have interest in Tucker, but Suns GM Ryan McDonough said earlier in the week that he doesn't like taking back late-round picks in deals which could complicate things in trade talks. If the Suns can find a new home for Tucker, T.J. Warren will get a bump and Dragan Bender will have a larger role. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 7:22 am
  • Jared Sullinger returned to action on Wednesday January 18. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 1:30 am
  • Andre Iguodala gets four steals w/ full line
Andre Iguodala had another nice game on Wednesday, swiping four steals to go along with six points, five assists and two rebounds in 25 minutes.

Advice: The 13-year veteran is quietly having a phenomenal month of January, scoring 7.3 points on 62.5 percent shooting with 1.0 threes, 3.7 boards, 3.6 assists and 0.7 steals. He's a combined 7-of-11 from deep in that span. It's inevitable that he'll cool off, but he's getting a ton of easy shot attempts and is at least worth some attention in deeper leagues. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 10:39 pm
  • Hello Again: Kevin Durant gets 40 pts vs. OKC
Kevin Durant was phenomenal against his former team on Wednesday, scoring a season-high 40 points (13-of-16 FGs, 9-of-10 FTs) with 12 rebounds, four assists, three blocks and five 3-pointers.

Advice: "It's never going to be a regular game for me," Durant said prior to the game. "I'm sure it will [be emotional]. It's people I've been with for so long and to see them again, yeah, they'll be some emotions. But I've still got a job to do." He did his job at an MVP level tonight, playing with a little extra juice against Russell Westbrook and co., and he continues to hold off all challengers for No. 1 fantasy value in 9-cat leagues. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 10:38 pm
  • Anthony Tolliver likely headed for minutes
Anthony Tolliver came off the bench against the Pacers on Wednesday with five points, three rebounds, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer in 22 minutes.

Advice: The first time Rudy Gay (Achilles) missed extended time, Tolliver was let loose a bit with 28.7 minutes per game in that 11-game span. He averaged 9.7 points, 4.8 boards, 0.9 assists, 0.5 blocks and 1.9 treys on 50.0 percent from the field. While that percentage may not be sustainable, Tolliver did post ninth-round value in that span, so he's worth a look if you need treys from a power forward. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 10:20 pm
  • Tests indicate Rudy Gay tore his Achilles
Preliminary tests indicated Rudy Gay has suffered a torn left Achilles.

Advice: He'll have an MRI on Thursday to confirm the injury, which is likely to end his season. Gay had micro tearing in his left Achilles dating back to 2014 and received shockwave treatment before. He's heading into a contract year and the timing is just terrible for the 30-year-old forward. The Kings will have to count on Garrett Temple, Matt Barnes and Anthony Tolliver. Temple is worth a pickup in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 9:48 pm
  • Rudy Gay (leg) gets carried off the court
Rudy Gay (leg) was carried off the court in the third quarter on Wednesday.

Advice: It did not look good. He was driving along the baseline and his leg gave out on the play. Gay couldn't put any weight on his left leg and the Kings had four people carry him off the court. Considering how the Kings have been careful with him, he's likely to miss time here. Matt Barnes, Anthony Tolliver and Garrett Temple could all gain value. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 9:22 pm
  • Anthony Davis (hip, thumb, hand) escapes Wed
Anthony Davis (hip, thumb) played 29 minutes on Wednesday, finishing with 21 points (9-of-17 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), 14 rebounds, four assists and one block.

Advice: AD survived yet another injury scare tonight when he left to get X-rays on his left hand, but he quickly returned while wearing a splint on two fingers. He seems to be perpetually banged up, yet he's only missed three games this season. The risk of a shutdown is limited by the fact that New Orleans is just 1.5 games out of the playoff picture, and thus far Davis has paid off richly for his risk-taking owners. As a precaution, we'll add him to the injury report ahead of Friday's home game vs. Brooklyn. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 9:00 pm
  • Jared Sullinger plays 14 minutes in debut
Jared Sullinger (foot) looked good during his season debut on Wednesday, making 4-of-10 shots to finish with eight points, three rebounds, and no other stats in 14 minutes.

Advice: The Raptors are going to be very cautious with Sullinger, as they were with DeMarre Carroll, and he'll be subject to limited minutes and occasional DNP-CDs until further notice. He should play both PF and backup C once he's up to speed, but most owners shouldn't stash him just yet. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 7:20 pm
  • DeMar DeRozan hits 11-of-21 FGs for 25 pts
DeMar DeRozan scored 25 points on 11-of-21 shots vs. the 76ers on Wednesday, without a single 3-point attempt in 38 minutes of action.

Advice: He added six assists, three boards, one steal and just two turnovers. It's all a bonus for his fantasy owners, as coach Dwane Casey hinted earlier in the day that DeRozan might rest in the second of back-to-back games. Toronto gets consecutive games again on Jan. 24-25, so owners should be on the lookout for a potential rest day next week. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 7:19 pm
  • DeMarre Carroll (sore neck) will not return
DeMarre Carroll (sore neck) will not return to Wednesday's game.

Advice: Carroll took a knee to the head while falling and the good news is that there's no mention of a concussion -- tests came back negative and it's being described as something similar to whiplash. Terrence Ross should gain the most if Carroll is forced to miss any games, with Norman Powell also stepping into a bigger role. The Raptors next game is Friday in Charlotte. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 6:03 pm
  • Anthony Davis returns to action vs. Magic
Anthony Davis (left thumb, left hand sprain, right hip) returned to action on Wednesday.

Advice: X-rays were negative on his left hand and he should be OK. Hopefully, he can stay healthy for the rest of the game tonight. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 5:57 pm
  • DeMarre Carroll goes to the locker room
DeMarre Carroll went to the locker room in the third quarter on Wednesday.

Advice: He was falling to the ground and Pascal Siakam's knee caught him as he was falling. Carroll was down for about two minutes and he needed some help off the court, so he may be dealing with a concussion. If he's out, Terrence Ross and Norman Powell would benefit. Ross is the better speculative add because he's played better late;y. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 5:46 pm
  • Confirmed: DeMar DeRozan will start vs. 76ers
DeMar DeRozan is confirmed in the starting lineup against the 76ers on Wednesday.

Advice: The Raptors may want to get a win against their divisional foes. DeRozan gets a good matchup tonight, so keep him rolling in your season-long leagues. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 4:01 pm
  • DeMar DeRozan listed as starter vs. 76ers
DeMar DeRozan is listed as the starter for Wednesday against the 76ers.

Advice: The Raptors usually tweet out lineup changes on their officially Twitter account, but this isn't the source here. For now, DeRozan has a good chance to play on the second half of a back-to-back set. We'll see if there is another update on DeMar from the team before tip. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 3:45 pm
  • Confirmed: Anthony Davis will play Wednesday
Anthony Davis (right hip, left thumb) will play Wednesday vs. the Magic, as expected.

Advice: Davis looked fine while going through his pregame routine, and there's been no discussion of a minutes restriction, so his owners can feel free to fire him up. Alvin Gentry may have had the quote of the year during his pregame interview, stating, "AD will play hurt. He's played hurt since the day he got here." Yup. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 3:40 pm
  • Evan Fournier (heel, foot) out for Wednesday
Evan Fournier (heel, foot) will not play against the Pelicans on Wednesday.

Advice: He tried to return from a heel injury last week and apparently it's caused additional problems to his foot due to compensation. Fournier's owners obviously have to stash him. Jodie Meeks should play minutes around 30 while Elfrid Payton has also been terrific without Fournier lately. Meeks is worth a look in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 3:35 pm
    Injured

  • Patrick Patterson (knee) will not play at PHI
Patrick Patterson (knee) will not play against the 76ers on Wednesday.

Advice: His knee injury has kept him to just two games in 2017. Luckily for the Raptors, they have Jared Sullinger (foot) back for limited minutes -- he's likely only going to play 10-15 minutes tonight. The Raptors will also likely go smaller tonight while Pascal Siakam could play 20 minutes. None of these guys mentioned are worth using in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 3:17 pm
  • Jared Sullinger will make season debut in PHI
Jared Sullinger (foot) will make his season debut and play limited minutes against the 76ers on Wednesday.

Advice: Wow. This comes as a surprise after Sullinger was cleared for practice on Jan. 13. He's coming off a foot surgery and chances are his conditioning isn't 100 percent yet. Sullinger will likely have a minutes limit for the foreseeable future, so he's only worth a pickup in deeper leagues right now. His upside isn't the greatest. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 3:09 pm
  • Danilo Gallinari probable to play on Thursday
Danilo Gallinari (right ankle) is probable to play on Thursday against the Spurs on Thursday.

Advice: This is fairly routine for the Nuggets with Gallo also on the injury report on Tuesday. He played 39 minutes and scored 14 points, so he's fairly close to healthy. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 2:06 pm
  • Larry Nance getting close to a return
Larry Nance (knee) was able to do almost everything in practice on Wednesday.

Advice: The training staff held him out of the final drill, but Nance wanted to participate in it. He's clearly getting close and his late-January target seems likely. Nance played 30.5 minutes per game in his previous two games prior to his injury on Dec. 20, and Luol Deng (wrist) is also banged up. If Nance can return before Deng, he may have some value in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 1:29 pm
  • DeMar DeRozan possibly resting on Wednesday?
Coach Dwane Casey hinted DeMar DeRozan could be rested on Wednesday against the 76ers.

Advice: It makes sense after the Raptors rested Kyle Lowry in Brooklyn on Tuesday night. If DeRozan does sit, it'll likely be Norman Powell getting the start while Terrence Ross would also get a bump in playing time. Plus, Kyle Lowry could be taking a ton of shots in his hometown. Hopefully we get the starting lineup before the 7:00 EST start. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 11:21 am
  • Report: OKC turned off by Rudy Gay's agency
The Thunder have reportedly been turned off by Rudy Gay joining the Roc Nation Sports agency.

Advice: This is the same agency that represents Kevin Durant, and according to Sam Amick of USA Today, OKC management partly blames the Roc Nation agency for the departure of Durant. Amick speculates that a trade sending Gay to Miami in some sort of Goran Dragic package is more likely, although Pat Riley may prefer to wait for Gay to hit free agency rather than unload assets to grab him for half a season now. In terms of fantasy hoops, Miami would be a decent landing spot, but this is all speculation at the moment. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 11:04 am
  • Anthony Davis (hip, thumb) says he'll play
Anthony Davis (right hip, left thumb) said that he will play Wednesday vs. Orlando.

Advice: Davis really likes going up against the Magic, in eight career outings against Orlando he owns impressive averages of 18.8 points, 13.4 boards, 1.4 dimes, 1.4 steals and a whopping 4.1 swats per contest, so he's on the radar as a potential DFS target. Just check back for official confirmation on his status closer to tip-off. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 9:12 am
  • Gorgui Dieng blocks four shots in loss
Gorgui Dieng racked up 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting with six rebounds, three assists, one steal and four blocks against the Spurs on Tuesday.

Advice: He only played 29 minutes because coach Tom Thibodeau is starting to have more trust in Nemanja Bjelica due to his ability to stretch the floor late in games. However, Dieng is still producing at a high level and was coming off a 21-point game on Sunday. The presence of Bjelica is annoying, but Dieng's owners shouldn't be too concerned. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 8:58 pm
  • Shabazz Muhammad scores 15 in 23 mins
Shabazz Muhammad scored 15 points in 23 minutes vs. the Spurs on Tuesday, adding four rebounds and two triples.

Advice: A report by Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical indicated that the Wolves are looking to include Muhammad in a package deal with Ricky Rubio, so he could be on his way to a new city before the Feb. 23 trade deadline. Considering coach Tom Thibodeau likes to give all his starters 30+ minutes a night, a move away from Minnesota might not be a bad thing. With that said, Muhammad is just a pure scorer and has very little upside in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 8:51 pm

Wesley Matthews hit the game-winning 3-pointer with just under 12 seconds remaining in Tuesday's tough, 99-98 win over the Bulls, and also played tough defense all night on Jimmy Butler and Dwyane Wade.

Advice: While it may seem strange to praise Matthews' defense on a guy who just missed a triple-double with 24 points, nine boards and 12 assists (Butler), the two players had a running dialogue all night and Matthews had the last laugh when he knocked the ball away from Butler with the game on the line. Matthews finished with just 11 points, four rebounds, two assists and three 3-pointers, but was much better in real life than fantasy tonight. And the Mavericks have quietly won three straight games. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 8:26 pm
  • Nikola Mirotic plays 22 minutes in return
Nikola Mirotic returned from an illness on Tuesday and had six points, five rebounds, a steal, a block and two 3-pointers in 22 minutes.

Advice: Not a bad line from Mirotic, who also benefitted from the absence of Taj Gibson, who was out with an ankle injury. The song remains the same with Miro - he'll have some big games and some bad games, so catching him on the right night can be tough. But if Gibson's ankle injury lingers, Mirotic will be someone worth picking up, while he could also bounce back for a decent second half, with or without Gibson. Mirotic is the textbook definition of a borderline player to own in 12-team leagues. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 8:09 pm
  • DeMar DeRozan goes off for 36 points
DeMar DeRozan went off for 36 points on 13-of-28 shooting in Tuesday's 119-109 win over the Nets.

Advice: Kyle Lowry (rest) got the night off and DeRozan's usage rate climbs from 31.7 to 41.5 with Lowry off the court, so it's no surprise that he feasted on the Nets. He added 11 rebounds, six assists and one steal, hitting all 10 of his free throws. He didn't even attempt a 3-pointer, but that only makes this line even more impressive. Just make sure he's active for Wednesday's matchup vs. the 76ers on the second night of a back-to-back set. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 7:26 pm
  • Dion Waiters hits 7-of15 shots for 17 points
Dion Waiters made another start on Tuesday and hit 7-of-15 shots and a 3-pointer for 17 points, five rebounds, three assists and a steal in a win over the Heat.

Advice: Waiters has been in an ugly shooting slump and missed some layups tonight, but looked much better than he has over his previous four games, when he hit just 15-of-53 shots. He's locked and loaded at shooting guard with Josh Richardson out for the next couple weeks, making him a hot pickup in fantasyland. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 7:19 pm
  • Austin Rivers looking at an increased role
Austin Rivers is looking at an increased role moving forward with Chris Paul (thumb) out 6-8 weeks.

Advice: Rivers was going to lose some value with Blake Griffin (knee) nearing a return, but not so fast. With Paul out, both Rivers and Felton could realistically play over 30 minutes a night even with a healthy Blake. Rivers is averaging 16.8 points, 4.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.8 triples in January, and his usage rate climbs from 14.9 to 21.8 when Paul is off the court. Go pick him up. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 4:34 pm
  • Patrick Patterson (knee) out Tuesday vs. BKN
Patrick Patterson (sore left knee) will not play Tuesday vs. the Nets.

Advice: This will be his third straight game on the sidelines, and his absence essentially ensures that Lucas Nogueira will get another start at the four-spot. Nogueira is worth owning as a shot blocking specialist in most leagues, while Patterson isn't worth a roster spot almost anywhere. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 3:50 pm
  • Fournier, Biyombo questionable for Wednesday
Evan Fournier (heel) and Bismack Biyombo (knee) are being listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Pelicans.

Advice: Fournier missed five straight games with this same injury earlier this month, and that wasn't enough time off to get himself right, so he could miss more time this time around. Considering he's only sat out the past two, we feel he's much closer to doubtful for Wednesday's game, but we should get another update after shootaround. Biyombo had a nasty fall on Monday, and while he played through it, it looks like the knee swelled up on the flight to New Orleans. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 1:26 pm
    Injured

  • Larry Nance unlikely to return this week
Luke Walton is that skeptical Larry Nance (knee) will be able to get back to the court this week.

Advice: Nance recently went through some 1-on-1 work with Ivica Zubac, but he's still yet to go through a full practice with the team, and until that happens he won't be getting back to the court. As long as Nance is on the sidelines, Julius Randle will continue to see his playing time in the mid-30s. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 11:57 am
  • Gorgui Dieng (illness) back at practice Tues
After missing Monday's practice, Gorgui Dieng (illness) was back on practice on Tuesday.

Advice: Dieng is expected to be ready to roll on Tuesday night when the Wolves play the Spurs. Dieng is coming off one of his best games of the season, when he lit up the Mavs for a season high-21 points on 10-of-12 shooting and eight rebounds on Sunday. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 9:57 am
  • Nikola Mirotic (illness) will play Tuesday
Nikola Mirotic (illness) will play Tuesday vs. the Mavs.

Advice: Mirotic, who has missed four straight games due to strep throat, has been a disappointment this season, averaging career-lows in points (9.5), assists (0.8), field goal percentage (.387), 3-point percentage (.312) and free-throw percentage (.758). Hopefully, he can bounce back in the second half of the season to salvage his 2016-17 campaign. Mirotic's return will cut into Doug McDermott's minutes and likely knock Bobby Portis out of the rotation. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 9:11 am
  • Evan Fournier returned to action on Monday January 16. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 12:41 am
    Injured

  • Marreese Speights scores 23 w/ 10 boards
Marreese Speights scored a season-high 23 points with 10 rebounds, three assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in 27 minutes in Monday's 120-98 win over the Thunder.

Advice: He scored 10 of his points in garbage time during the fourth quarter, but Speights was on fire all night, hitting 8-of-15 shots from the field and 4-of-4 from the line. Speights is a per-minute monster, but the problem is that he's only eclipsed the 20-minute mark one time in January (tonight). With Blake Griffin (knee) nearing a return, it's tough to get excited about this. We'll let you know if his role grows. Rotoworld.com Monday, 10:24 pm
  • Austin Rivers scores 16 w/ six assists
Austin Rivers scored 16 points on 5-of-13 shooting in Monday's win over the Thunder.

Advice: He played impressive defense on Russell Westbrook and is thriving with the first unit. Rivers logged 35 minutes and added six assists, two rebounds, one steal and two triples, and he could have the ball in his hands a lot more if Chris Paul (sprained thumb) misses any time. Rivers' usage rate rises from 14.9 to 21.8 when Paul is off the court, so he looks like a solid pickup in addition to Raymond Felton. Rotoworld.com Monday, 10:18 pm
  • P.J. Tucker hauls in season-high 13 boards
P.J. Tucker tied his season high with 13 rebounds and added eight points and two steals in 27 minutes on Monday.

Advice: Tucker is averaging just 6.2 points over his last five games, but also 7.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals in 29 minutes a game. He doesn't hit threes, hand out assists or block shots, and with his shaky field goal percentage and lack of scoring, is a borderline player to target in fantasy leagues. Chances are you can do better off your waiver wire. Rotoworld.com Monday, 8:55 pm
  • Andre Iguodala scores season-high 14 points
Andre Iguodala scored a season-high 14 points on 5-of-5 shooting in Monday's win over the Cavaliers.

Advice: You just knew he was going to step up with LeBron James in town. Iguodala did all of his damage in just 25 minutes of the blowout, adding five assists, three rebounds, one block and two triples. As good as he was tonight, Iggy was only averaging 5.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists on the season, so we can't get behind an add in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Monday, 8:01 pm
  • Kevin Durant scores 21 on 9-of-16 FGs
Kevin Durant scored 21 points on 9-of-16 shooting in Monday's win over the Cavaliers.

Advice: Durant had three blocks on the night including a massive rejection on a LeBron James dunk attempt (link below). He added six rebounds, five assists, two steals and three triples, but only played 29 minutes in the blowout win. Durant should be a popular DFS target on Wednesday vs. Russell Westbrook and the Thunder. The last time those two teams met, Durant had 39 points on 15-of-24 shooting. Rotoworld.com Monday, 7:50 pm
  • Draymond Green triple-doubles in win vs. Cavs
Draymond Green triple-doubled in an easy 126-91 win over the Cavaliers on Monday, scoring 11 points with 13 rebounds and 11 assists.

Advice: This was his third triple-double of the season and the 17th of his career. Green was incredible on the defensive end, racking up one steal and matching his career-high with five blocks. He didn't have a single turnover in 35 minutes and finished 4-of-6 from the field and 3-of-4 from the stripe in one of his best lines of the season. The Warriors will go for their fifth straight win on Wednesday vs. the Thunder. Rotoworld.com Monday, 7:43 pm
  • Jabari Parker scores 23 points in loss
Jabari Parker scored 23 points in Monday's loss to Philly, shooting 9-of-17 from the field and 3-of-5 from the line.

Advice: He continues to thrive from beyond the arc and hit a pair of triples on four attempts Monday, bumping his 3-point percentage up to 41.1 percent on the season. He added five rebounds, one assist and two steals in 35 minutes, and he's now scored 22+ points in five out of his last six games. He should feast in a great mathchup vs. Houston on Wednesday. Rotoworld.com Monday, 3:45 pm
  • Evan Fournier (heel) out Monday vs. Denver
Evan Fournier (heel) will not suit up for Monday's game against the Nuggets, as expected.

Advice: He's currently without an official timetable to return, and it sounds like there's a good chance he'll spend the entire week on the sidelines. Jodie Meeks will draw the start in his place, and Elfrid Payton, Aaron Gordon, Serge Ibaka and Nikola Vucevic will join him in the starting five. Rotoworld.com Monday, 12:47 pm
    Injured

  • Anthony Tolliver plays 31 minutes vs. OKC
Anthony Tolliver scored 10 points with four rebounds, two assists, two steals, one block and two 3-pointers in 31 minutes against the Thunder on Sunday.

Advice: Tolliver started in his fourth consecutive game tonight and has played over 30 minutes in each of his starts. During that stretch, he is averaging 33.3 minutes, 12.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.8 steals and 2.3 treys per game. Coach Dave Joerger likes to mix it up with his starting five, so at any moment Tolliver could head back to his bench role. However, until that happens, he is worth considering in deeper leagues for fantasy owners in need of 3-pointers and steals. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 9:27 pm
  • Rudy Gay double-doubles vs. Thunder
Rudy Gay scored 22 points with 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals, two blocks and two 3-pointers in 36 minutes on Sunday against the Thunder.

Advice: This was his second consecutive double-double and his fourth of the season. He continues to have a nice January, averaging 35.4 minutes, 19.4 points, seven rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.8 blocks per game. There is no reason to think he will slow down any time soon. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 9:16 pm
  • Jabari Parker dishes career-high nine assists
Jabari Parker handed out a career-high nine assists on Sunday, adding 10 rebounds, eight points and one steal in 33 minutes of action.

Advice: The ball has been in Parker's hands a ton in January. His 31 total assists this month are more than Giannis Antetokounmpo (25) and not that far behind ostensible point guard Malcolm Brogdon (34). Giannis' ridiculous season has overshadowed Parker, to some extent, but he's flirting with top-50 value in roto leagues and has been even better for the past month. There's no reason to think he'll cool off. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 4:49 pm
  • Nikola Mirotic could return on Tuesday
Coach Fred Hoiberg is "hopeful" that Nikola Mirotic (illness) will play on Tuesday against Dallas.

Advice: Mirotic has missed four games due to the illness, which appears to be strep throat. Prior to the issue, he averaged 25.8 minutes, 10.8 points, four rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game in the month of January. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 4:43 pm
  • DeMar DeRozan scores 23 points w/ five dimes
DeMar DeRozan scored 23 points on 8-of-17 shooting during Sunday's blowout win over the Knicks, to go with five rebounds, five assists and two turnovers in 28 minutes.

Advice: The Raptors flexed their muscles in this one, going on a 21-2 run to open up the second half of action, which allowed Kyle Lowry, Jonas Valanciunas, DeMarre Carroll and DeRozan to watch the entire fourth quarter of action from the sidelines. The Raptors have what should be some easy wins coming up with a back-to-back set against the Nets (Tuesday) and 76ers (Wednesday), so DeRozan's minutes could be on the lower spectrum to open up Week-13. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 3:46 pm
  • Harrison Barnes hits 6-of-16 shots for 13 pts
Harrison Barnes went 6-of-16 from the field and 1-of-2 from the stripe on Sunday, on his way to 13 points, three boards, one steal, one block and one turnover in 32 minutes.

Advice: Barnes has impressively hit double figures in the scoring department in all 40 games this season, and he's been a steady mid-round guy all year long. He's having a career-year in Dallas, and as one of the younger guys on the roster, he's not in any danger of getting hit with random rest days down the stretch. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 2:42 pm
  • Wesley Matthews scores 19 points w/ 4 triples
Wesley Matthews scored a team-high 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting during Sunday's 98-87 win over the Wolves, adding four 3-pointers, seven boards, one assist, one block and one turnover.

Advice: Matthews has been connecting on a career-low 38.6 percent of his attempts this season, but aside from the shooting he's been solid with averages of 15.1 points, 2.2 dimes, 1.3 steals, 2.9 triples and just 1.4 turnovers per game, which has him sitting on an eighth-round evaluation in standard 9-cat leagues. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 2:36 pm
  • Gorgui Dieng scores season-high 21 points
Gorgui Dieng scored a season high-21 points on 10-of-12 shooting during Sunday's 98-87 loss to the Mavericks, adding eight rebounds and one steal in 31 minutes.

Advice: Dieng was en fuego on the offensive end, as he regularly abused Dirk Nowitzki on his post ups. This was a nice bounce-back game after Friday's four-point, 1-of-10 shooting disaster, and while owners shouldn't expect this sort of offensive output on most nights, Dieng's steady stream of defensive statistics with solid shooting percentages has his him churning out steady mid-round value on the year. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 2:02 pm
  • Patrick Patterson (knee) won't play Sunday
Patrick Patterson (sore left knee) will not play Sunday vs. the Knicks.

Advice: He will miss his second game in a row, but the Raptors are likely being cautious based on coach Dwane Casey's comments earlier in the week. With Patterson out, the Raptors are going to roll with Lucas Nogueira at the four, but that might not be ideal if the Knicks start Lance Thomas in place of Kristaps Porzingis (Achilles). Nogueira had 10 points, nine rebounds, four blocks and two assists in his last start. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 10:57 am
  • Evan Fournier doesn't have a timetable
Evan Fournier (heel, foot) doesn't currently have a timetable to return.

Advice: "I was compensating a lot, so now it’s more than just the heel," Fournier said. "It’s just the bottom of the foot, period. It’s frustrating, man. I could probably keep playing like this, but it’s not getting any better and I’m playing [at] like 60 percent [of my ability]." This is the same injury that sidelined him for five games in a row earlier in the season, so don't expect him to play on Monday vs. the Nuggets or Wednesday vs. the Pelicans. His owners just need to hold onto him for now, while Jodie Meeks is worth a look if you need a short-term boost in triples and points. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 7:24 am
    Injured

  • Jared Sullinger won't set a return date
Jared Sullinger (foot) said he won't set a return date despite being cleared for practice.

Advice: "My main focus is just trying to get my legs back under me," Sullinger said. "I feel like everybody else is in tip-top shape and I’m just lagging. I can’t keep up with [Jakob Poeltl] off the dribble, so, I got a lot of work to do." He added that he has "no lungs" right now, so it's going to take him a while to get into shape. Sully is going to be limited right out of the gate, so he's more of a stash in deeper leagues for now. He will eventually be the starting power forward. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 7:19 am
  • P.J. Tucker scores six points
P.J. Tucker scored six points with five rebounds, two assists, four steals and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes against the Spurs on Saturday.

Advice: He did get the business from Kawhi Leonard for most of this game, but Tucker came up big late to get the big win. He'll have some low-end value while the Suns are technically in playoff contention, but he's only a guy on deep-league radars. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 7:03 pm
  • Evan Fournier (foot) could miss road trip
Evan Fournier (foot, heel) could miss the remainder of the Magic's road trip due to the concern of his foot and heel injuries.

Advice: On top of being out Saturday, he could be out Monday and Wednesday. The interesting thing here is that it sounds like he has problems in two different areas on his right foot. His heel injury was a problem at the end of last month and cost him five games, so he could be looking at a similar amount of time off due to the aggravation. In the meantime, go ahead and add Jodie Meeks in competitive leagues for short-term value. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 5:09 pm
    Injured

  • Evan Fournier (foot) out, Jodie Meeks starts
Evan Fournier (foot) will not play against the Jazz on Saturday and Jodie Meeks will start in his place.

Advice: Fournier is still battling through his heel injury from earlier this month and he just hasn't been right. The Magic are wisely going to rest him up to get him right, and hopefully he should be OK for Monday against the Nuggets. Meeks is worth a look as insurance in deep leagues while Mario Hezonja is on the radar in deep leagues. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 4:34 pm
    Injured

  • Austin Rivers scores 15 points in start
Austin Rivers scored 15 points with one rebound, two assists, two steals and one 3-pointer against the Lakers on Saturday.

Advice: He likely has the starting job locked up with his dad trusting him against small forwards of all sizes until Blake Griffin (knee) comes back. Rivers has been very effective in his last four, averaging 19.0 points, 3.8 boards, 4.0 assists, 0.8 steals and 2.0 treys. He'll be taking a big hit once BG comes back and only has three games for the upcoming week, so Rivers' value isn't the greatest going forward. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 3:26 pm
  • Nick Young scores 11 points
Nick Young scored 11 points with one steal and two 3-pointers in 29 minutes against the Clippers on Saturday.

Advice: His minutes have taken a hit this month, but some of that is due to the Lakers being blown out for three games in a row. Coach Luke Walton still is trusting Young's defense and he asked him to chase around J.J. Redick in this game. He's almost certainly past his peak on the season and has slowed down in his last five, averaging 6.8 points, 1.2 boards, 0.6 assists and 1.4 treys on just 27.5 percent from the field. If you want to cut him for an upward-trending free agent, go for it. We would cut him for someone like Terrence Jones in a second. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 3:09 pm
  • Nikola Mirotic ruled out for Sunday night
Nikola Mirotic (illness) will not play against the Grizzlies on Sunday.

Advice: He has a really, really bad case of something with now four games out of the lineup. Mirotic being out should open up minutes for Doug McDermott as the second-unit shooter, but McDermott has been awful lately. If things change on Saturday, maybe Bobby Portis gets a look. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 12:31 pm
  • Larry Nance playing some 1-on-1
Larry Nance (knee) played 1-on-1 against Ivica Zubac on Saturday.

Advice: Nance said he won 5-0, but Zubac said the score was 5-3 and he let Nance win to help his confidence. It looks like Nance has an excellent chance to return at some point this month, perhaps even in the next week. He's worth a stash in deep leagues with the Lakers looking to their youth more often. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 11:46 am
  • Waiters confident he will snap out of slump
Dion Waiters feels healthy and is confident he will snap out of his recent slump.

Advice: Since returning from a groin tear back on January 4th, Waiters is averaging 8.4 points, while shooting just 29.8 percent from the floor and 17.6 percent from downtown. Waiters believes he is close to regaining the form he had prior to the injury, when he was playing arguably the best basketball of his career. "No question, it's coming," Waiters said confidently. "Sooner than later, there's no doubt about that. The wait is over." Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 11:04 am
  • Patrick Patterson (knee) questionable for Sun
Patrick Patterson (sore left knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Knicks.

Advice: Patterson returned to play two games earlier this week but was then forced to sit out Friday night, although coach Dwane Casey said that it is more of a precaution. Lucas Nogueira started in place of Patterson on Friday, finishing with 10 points and nine rebounds in 30 minutes. Pascal Siakam or Norman Powell could also see increased minutes, based on matchups, if Patterson misses more time. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 10:16 am
  • Rudy Gay scores 23 points in loss to Cavs
Rudy Gay scored 23 points with 10 rebounds, two assists, four blocks and three 3-pointers in 35 minutes against the Cavs on Friday.

Advice: After all the time off due to a hip injury, Gay has turned it up over his last four. In that span, he averaged 18.8 points, 6.3 boards, 2.5 assists, 1.8 blocks, 1.3 steals and 1.8 treys. He should feast the rest of the way while he's on the Kings roster, but the trade rumors and rest will be a pain for his owners. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 10:50 pm
  • Gorgui Dieng makes just 1-of-10
Gorgui Dieng made 1-of-10 from the field for four points with three rebounds, two assists and five fouls in 33 minutes against the Thunder on Friday.

Advice: He's actually been a terrific shooter lately, making 54.4 percent from the field over his last 19. This bad game comes on two really rough ones with 25.5 minutes per game, so there's a good chance this is the low point. Plus, the Wolves are talking up Nemanja Bjelica. This may be the best chance to buy low on him. His owners should obviously stick with him. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 9:04 pm
  • Carroll posts first double-double as Raptor
DeMarre Carroll had his first double-double as a Raptor on Friday, scoring 18 points with 11 rebounds and three 3-pointers in 29 minutes against the Nets.

Advice: It's taken a very long time for the Raptors to see some dividends on their four-year, $60 million deal from the summer of 2015. Well, it's happening over their last three, averaging 18.3 points, 7.7 boards, 0.7 steals and 4.0 treys. Carroll has to be owned in all standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 8:26 pm
  • Patrick Patterson (knee) will not play Friday
Patrick Patterson (knee) will not play Friday against the Nets.

Advice: Coach Dwane Casey said that it is more of a precaution. He didn't exactly look right with 21 minutes and going scoreless on Tuesday. Against Trevor Booker at the four, the Raptors could be looking at Lucas Nogueira as the starter. They could also go with more small-ball lineups against the fastest team in the NBA. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 2:52 pm
  • Nikola Mirotic (illness) out for Saturday
Nikola Mirotic (illness) will not play against the Pelicans on Saturday.

Advice: This will be his third game out of the lineup with his very bad illness. With him out, it was Paul Zipser getting the start while Bobby Portis also saw some late minutes in a close game. Doug McDermott could also benefit, but he's been in a brutal slump. Mirotic is still a stash. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 2:29 pm
  • Jared Sullinger cleared for practice
Jared Sullinger (foot) has been cleared for practice.

Advice: This is a huge step in his recovery. Sullinger is starting to get shots up and now it looks like he can take on more contact. The Raptors have essentially jettisoned Pascal Siakam in the rotation, so the starting spot is Sullinger's to lose once he can play in games. That said, there won't be much usage available for him, he doesn't block shots and his minutes will be managed for a long time, so he's only a pickup in deep leagues. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 12:09 pm
  • Kevin Durant scores 25 on 10-of-15 shooting
Kevin Durant hit 10-of-15 shots and three 3-pointers for 25 points, six rebounds, nine assists and a steal in Thursday's blowout 127-107 win over the Pistons.

Advice: He stayed in the game for a lot of fourth-quarter garbage time when Stephen Curry and most other starters were resting, giving him a nice boost in DFS. This was one of Durant's most efficient games of the season, but then again, it's also just a good example of what he does. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 10:11 pm
  • Draymond Green scores 2 with 13 dimes
Draymond Green missed all four of his shots and scored just two points on Thursday, but also had nine rebounds, 13 assists and two blocks in 30 minutes of Thursday's blowout win over the Suns.

Advice: The bottom line is that Dray simply doesn't need to score on this team and he tied his season low with two points tonight. But he can also score when necessary and was averaging 10.9 points, 8.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists, 2.1 steals, 1.2 blocks and 1.1 3-pointers per game coming into this one. That's awfully close to triple-double territory, which is why he's still one of the top players in fantasy despite not being much of a scorer on a stacked team. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 10:09 pm
