  • Report: Paul Millsap to undergo wrist surgery
Paul Millsap will reportedly undergo left wrist surgery and he will be out indefinitely.

Advice: Not good. While X-rays came back negative, tests taken over the past few days confirmed the need for surgery and Shams Charania reports he could be looking at a 2-3 month absence. Kenneth Faried got the start in his place on Monday night but finished with just six points and seven boards in 19 minutes, so he's still not a very attractive add. The Nuggets could also go small sans Millsap, shifting Wilson Chandler over to the four and starting Will Barton at the three, in which case Barton would see a nice uptick in value. Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Barton figure to pick up most of Millsap's usage, and Juan Hernangomez could become a larger part of the rotation. Millsap will be tough to hang onto if you don't have an IR-spot. Today, 3:02 pm
  • Brandan Wright (groin) out Wednesday vs. DAL
Brandan Wright (right quad) will not play Wednesday vs. the Mavericks.

Advice: This will be Wright's second straight game on the sidelines, and given that he tends to be a slow healer, we wouldn't be surprised to see him skip Friday's game in Denver as well. Marc Gasol will be logging heavy minutes moving forward with Deyonte Davis acting as his backup. Today, 2:55 pm
  • Asik (illness) present at Tuesday's practice
Omer Asik (illness) was present during Tuesday's practice and head coach Alvin Gentry said he hopes to have Asik back on the court "at some point this year."

Advice: Asik has been dealing with a pretty severe illness, so it's nice to see that he's at least at the point where he can attend practices. That said, the Pelicans are in no rush to get him back, and he won't play much at all once cleared as long as Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins are healthy, so he's safe to leave on the waiver wire in all settings. Today, 2:13 pm
  • Mike Muscala (ankle) ruled out Wednesday
Mike Muscala (ankle) has been ruled out of Wednesday's game vs. the Clippers.

Advice: Muscala was cleared to play Saturday but never checked in. Then, was listed as probable on Monday, before being ruled out late Monday evening. It's safe to assume he suffered a setback. With Luke Babbitt (back) also ruled out for Wednesday, John Collins should be expected to log plenty of playing time. Collins, who had a season-high 21 points, nine rebounds and two blocks in 36 minutes on Monday, is an attractive DFS play for Wednesday. Today, 2:11 pm
  • John Henson (eye) out Wednesday vs. PHX
John Henson (eye procedure) will not play Wednesday in Phoenix.

Advice: It's unclear exactly what procedure Henson had performed, but he's scheduled to re-join the team later this week prior to Saturday's game in Utah, so perhaps this will only be a one-game absence for the shot-blocking dynamo. With Henson on the sidelines, Thon Maker might be able to flirt with 30 minutes, and we could also see some small-ball Giannis Antetokounmpo occupying the five-spot. Today, 1:47 pm
  • Ryan Anderson (illness) expected to play Wed
Ryan Anderson (illness) is expected to play Wednesday vs. the Nuggets.

Advice: Anderson was unable to practice on Monday but is expected to get back on the practice floor Tuesday, although possibly in a limited fashion. Anderson, a 3-point specialist, is averaging 2.8 treys per game this season, tied for ninth-most in the NBA. Today, 9:06 am
  • Myles Turner says his ankle is 'fine'
Myles Turner (ankle) said he will be "fine" for Friday's game vs. Toronto.

Advice: Turner tweaked his ankle in Monday's game vs. Orlando. He had it re-taped and returned to action shortly thereafter. Afterward, Turner indicated he wasn't overly concerned with the injury. The Pacers don't play again until after Thanksgiving. "I've got plenty of time to get it right," said Turner. Check back later in the week for an update and confirmation that he is on track to play Friday night. Today, 7:17 am
  • Kosta Koufos scores 16 points vs. Nuggets
Kosta Koufos scored a season-high 16 points vs. the Nuggets on Monday, hitting 7-of-9 shots with four rebounds, three blocks and one steal in 28 minutes.

Advice: He continues to get minutes at the expense of Sacramento's younger talent, but that won't always be the case. Koufos has seen an uptick in minutes and production lately with 7.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 0.8 blocks over his last five games, but you'd have to be in a very deep league to trust him on a nightly basis. Yesterday, 10:09 pm
  • Kenneth Faried plays just 19 minutes in start
Kenneth Faried started in place of Paul Millsap (wrist) on Monday, but hit just 1-of-7 shots for six points, seven rebounds, a steal and a block and was pulled after just 19 minutes.

Advice: So much for that. It's possible Faried continues to start if Millsap's wrist keeps him out, but after this one, he's going to be very hard to trust. He's only worth a DFS punt at this point, and even that move backfired tonight. Yesterday, 9:46 pm
  • Pau Gasol plays just 18 minutes vs. Hawks
Pau Gasol played just 18 minutes and hit 2-of-6 shots for six points, seven rebounds and nothing else in Monday's win over the Hawks.

Advice: It wasn't a classic 'DNP-Old,' but it was the next best thing, as Gregg Popovich pulled the plug on his center early in this one. There are no reports of an injury, but this is just one of the problems with owning Gasol this season. You never know what Pop's going to do with him. Yesterday, 9:32 pm
  • Al Horford scores season-low three points
Al Horford scored a season-low three points on 1-of-5 shooting in Monday's overtime win over Dallas.

Advice: He had just seven points on Saturday vs. the Hawks and is now shooting 4-of-16 in his last two games. Horford did salvage his fantasy line with eight rebounds, seven assists, one steal, two blocks and a triple, so he's still an elite fantasy option when his shot isn't falling. His defense has been the bigger story though, as Boston is comfortably leading the NBA in defensive rating. Yesterday, 9:26 pm
  • LaMarcus Aldridge double-doubles vs. Hawks
LaMarcus Aldridge hit 11-of-24 shots for 22 points, 11 rebounds and a block in 39 minutes of Monday's win over the Hawks.

Advice: That's his seventh double-double of the season and he's scored in double digits in every Spurs game this season. Despite the fact that Kawhi Leonard has yet to make an appearance, the Spurs are 11-6 behind the strong play of Aldridge. Yesterday, 9:17 pm
  • John Collins heating up, scores 21 for Hawks
John Collins came off the bench to hit 10-of-12 shots for a season-high 21 points, nine rebounds and two blocks in 36 minutes of Monday's loss to the Spurs.

Advice: Here we go! Collins is absolutely on fire right now, hitting 30-of-39 (77%) shots over his last four games and averaging 16.3 points, 7.5 rebounds and 0.5 blocks over that stretch. We've been calling him a must-own for most of the season and he's come through in his last four games. And with the 3-14 Hawks going nowhere fast, they have no reason not to give Collins all the minutes he can handle going forward. None. Yesterday, 9:12 pm
  • Dewayne Dedmon plays well vs. Spurs
Dewayne Dedmon hit 5-of-8 shots and a 3-pointer for 11 points, nine rebounds, one steals and two blocks against his former team, the Spurs, on Monday night.

Advice: This wasn't exactly a dominant revenge game against his former mates, but he played well and is hot for the Hawks. Dedmon is averaging 12.2 points, 9.0 rebounds, 0.8 steals, 0.8 blocks and 0.6 3-pointers on 75 percent shooting over his last five games, making him worth owning in almost all fantasy leagues, especially if you play two centers. Yesterday, 9:04 pm
  • John Henson double-doubles w/ two blocks
John Henson double-doubled on Monday vs. the Wizards with 10 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 26 minutes.

Advice: He was 5-of-8 from the field and didn't get to the free throw line to the delight of his owners -- he's hitting just 39.4 percent of his free throws this season. Henson is loving life without Greg Monroe and is averaging 10.0 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.4 blocks over his last five games. Unless Thon Maker shows up at some point, keep throwing Henson into your fantasy lineups. Yesterday, 8:54 pm
  • Marc Gasol does it all in loss to Blazers
Marc Gasol hit 7-of-20 shots and three 3-pointers for 19 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, a steal and two blocks in 40 minutes of Monday's 100-92 loss to the Blazers.

Advice: Gasol is having a nice season and has hit a 3-pointer in all but three games this season. Elite fantasy centers are tough to come by, but he is having a career year and certainly qualifies as one. Yesterday, 8:26 pm
  • Anthony Davis scores 36 in win over OKC
Anthony Davis played through his facial injury on Monday and hit 9-of-19 shots and 18-of-22 free throws for 36 points, 15 rebounds, three assists and two blocks in a tough win over the Thunder.

Advice: He also had a season-high seven turnovers, which was a bit fluky since his previous season high was just five of them. This was his best game since October and he'll try to keep it going against the Spurs on Wednesday. Yesterday, 8:05 pm
  • Dwight Howard torches KAT for 25 & 20 in win
Dwight Howard hit 8-of-10 shots and 9-of-14 free throws for 25 points, 20 rebounds and four blocks against Karl-Anthony Towns and the Timberwolves on Monday.

Advice: The 25 points were a season high and KAT has a way of making his opposition look fantastic. That was certainly the case tonight and congratulations are in order if you had Howard in your lineups tonight. Howard has double-doubled in two straight games and will try to keep it going on Wednesday against Marcin Gortat. Yesterday, 7:35 pm
  • Griffin scores 21, Clippers lose 9th straight
Blake Griffin's 21 points against the Knicks on Monday wasn't enough to prevent the Clippers from losing their ninth straight game.

Advice: It's safe to say they miss Chris Paul. The Clippers never lost four games in a row with Paul in the lineup, and now they're looking at their worst losing streak since Nov. 10 of 2010. Griffin hit 6-of-18 shots and 7-of-8 free throws, adding five rebounds, four assists, two steals, two triples and four turnovers, and he was a -20 in his 33 minutes. Sitting in 13th place in the West, the Clippers have a great chance to end this streak on Wednesday vs. the Hawks. Yesterday, 7:33 pm
  • Nikola Vucevic scores 25 despite sore knee
Nikola Vucevic played through a sore knee on Monday vs. the Pacers, but managed to score 25 points on 11-of-19 shots.

Advice: The Pacers have allowed the most fantasy points to centers this season, so Vucevic took full advantage, racking up 13 rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers in 29 minutes. He has cooled off in November after a hot start to the season, and the Magic are going to need more nights like this if they hope to climb out of their slump -- they've lost five games in a row and have fallen to 10th in the East. Yesterday, 7:15 pm
  • Myles Turner struggles vs. ORL, tweaks ankle
Myles Turner struggled vs. the Magic on Monday with eight points, five rebounds and two blocks in 34 minutes on 4-of-11 shooting, and he tweaked his ankle in the process.

Advice: Turner simply had his ankle re-taped and quickly returned, but we'll put him on the injury report to be safe. He was able to play down the stretch and was moving around fine, but he couldn't generate much on the offensive end. Maybe he was fatigued after going off for a season-high 25 points on Sunday with two 3-pointers, seven rebounds, four assists, three blocks and one steal in 32 minutes, but his owners should expect a bounce-back game with three days off until Friday's matchup vs. the Raptors. Yesterday, 6:42 pm
  • Derrick Favors back to earth on Monday
Derrick Favors hit 3-of-8 shots for nine points, seven rebounds and a block in Monday's 107-86 loss to the Sixers.

Advice: Favors had to deal with The Process tonight and was a far cry from the guy who posted 25 points and 11 rebounds on 10-of-12 shooting on Saturday. Favors is still worth owning as long as Rudy Gobert is out, despite the inconsistency. Yesterday, 6:39 pm
  • Kevin Love leads Cavs in balanced attack
Kevin Love hit 8-of-12 shots and a 3-pointer for 19 points, 11 rebounds and four assists to lead the Cavaliers in an easy win over the Pistons on Monday.

Advice: The Cavs shots 53 percent from the floor as a team, 49 percent from downtown and drained 16-of-17 free throws in the easy win. LeBron James and James Crowder joined in to help Love in the win, each scoring 18 points, while no Cavs starter played more than 28 minutes in the blowout. Yesterday, 6:23 pm
  • Kenneth Faried starting vs. the Kings
Kenneth Faried will start on Monday vs. the Kings in place of Paul Millsap (wrist).

Advice: Wilson Chandler (back) remains a game-time decision. X-rays taken on Millsap's wrist came back negative, and while we don't know how long he'll be out, it looks like Faried will the primary beneficiary in fantasy for as long as Millsap is sidelined. Yesterday, 5:39 pm
  • Mike Muscala (ankle) ruled out Monday
Mike Muscala (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's game vs. the Spurs.

Advice: He was originally probable, so maybe he didn't like how his ankle felt in warmups. With Muscala out again, the Hawks will continue to roll with a frontcourt rotation consisting of Dewayne Dedmon, Luke Babbitt and John Collins. Yesterday, 4:22 pm
  • Jon Leuer (ankle) ruled out vs. Cavs
Jon Leuer (ankle) will not play on Monday vs. the Cavaliers.

Advice: Coach Stan Van Gundy hasn't heard back from Leuer about his second MRI, so we could potentially have another update this evening. With Leuer out, Eric Moreland and Anthony Tolliver will likely split the few minutes that Leuer was playing before the injury. Yesterday, 4:06 pm
    Player Note
    Jon Leuer Det - PF,C
  • Anthony Davis (face) has no restrictions
Anthony Davis (face) has no restrictions on Monday vs. the Thunder.

Advice: He was cleared of the concussion protocol over the weekend and is merely dealing with a sore right eye. Get him in your lineups and check back after the game to see how he fares. Yesterday, 3:24 pm
  • Jon Leuer (ankle) doubtful for Monday
Jon Leuer (ankle) is doubtful to play Monday vs. the Cavs.

Advice: Stan Van Gundy said that he hasn't had a chance to talk with Leuer and that he doesn't know yet if he's undergone that second MRI, which indicates that Leuer won't be taking the floor tonight. His likely absence is more or less irrelevant in fantasy hoops. Yesterday, 2:33 pm
    Player Note
    Jon Leuer Det - PF,C
  • X-rays come back negative on Millsap's wrist
X-rays taken on Paul Millsap's left wrist came back negative, but he will not play Monday vs. Sacramento.

Advice: It's nice to know that Millsap didn't break anything, but depending on the severity of the sprain, he could be looking at more than just a one-game absence here. Kenneth Faried or Will Barton could move into the starting five tonight with Millsap out, and there will be more opportunity on offense for guys like Gary Harris, Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. Yesterday, 1:18 pm
  • Tyson Chandler (illness) says he'll play Weds
Tyson Chandler (illness) was a full participant during Monday's practice and said he expects to play Wednesday vs. Milwaukee.

Advice: Chandler has spent five of the past seven games on the sidelines with an illness and back issues, but it sounds like he'll be back in the rotation on Wednesday night, which isn't great news for the likes of Alex Len, Marquese Chriss and Greg Monroe. Head coach Jay Triano said he's not sure how he'll handle the minutes with three centers available, but this could very easily turn into a value-killing timeshare situation. Yesterday, 11:58 am
  • Paul Millsap (wrist) ruled out for Monday
Paul Millsap (left wrist) has been ruled out for Monday's game in Sacramento.

Advice: Millsap sprained his wrist on Sunday night, and while X-rays came back negative, it won't be all that surprising if he's forced to spend at least a few games on the sidelines. Nuggets reporter Harrison Wind speculates that Kenneth Faried could be Millsap's replacement tonight, and if that's the case, he could be someone to consider as a punt play in DFS. We can also expect guys like Gary Harris, Nikola Jokic, Will Barton and Jamal Murray to all see an uptick in usage sans Millsap. Yesterday, 11:16 am
  • Ryan Anderson (illness) will miss practice
Ryan Anderson (illness) will not attend Monday's practice.

Advice: The Rockets don't play until Wednesday, but with a total of two games on the schedule in Week 6, he's safe to bench in weekly formats even if he doesn't miss any time. Anderson is hitting 2.8 triples per game this season, but he's basically a one-trick pony in fantasy. Yesterday, 9:12 am
  • Anthony Davis (face) will play on Monday
Anthony Davis (face) will play on Monday vs. the Thunder.

Advice: He was originally listed as probable after clearing the concussion protocol over the weekend and said he's feeling good. Davis has cooled off a bit in November after a phenomenal start to the season, but he's easily a top-10 fantasy option every time he's active. Yesterday, 9:00 am
  • Vucevic will play through knee soreness
Nikola Vucevic banged knees on Saturday vs. the Jazz, but he will play on Monday vs. the Pacers.

Advice: He said his knee was sore on Sunday, but there's no word of any restrictions. The Magic will watch him closely and this makes him a risky DFS play, but season-long owners can go ahead and throw him into their lineups. Yesterday, 8:46 am
  • Atkinson praises Allen's performance Sunday
Jarrett Allen scored six points (3-of-4 FGs) with three rebounds and one block vs. the Warriors on Sunday, impressing coach Kenny Atkinson in the process.

Advice: "Jarrett coming in, his ability to roll to the rim makes it a little harder for them to switch when you have a seven-footer out there that can put pressure on the rim," he said. Atkinson added that he "can’t wait until he really hits his peak" and said this game was a glimpse of what he can offer in the future. The rookie is loaded with shot-blocking upside, but should be treated like a stash until the Nets unleash him. Yesterday, 7:40 am
  • McRoberts (lower extremity injury) out Monday
Josh McRoberts (lower extremity injury) will not play on Monday vs. Boston.

Advice: He's yet to play this season and is still considered out indefinitely. When McRoberts is cleared, he probably won't have a role on the rebuilding Mavs. Yesterday, 7:17 am
  • Kenneth Faried logs nine bench minutes
Kenneth Faried came off the bench on Sunday for two points and three rebounds in nine minutes.

Advice: Nikola Jokic was ejected early and Paul Millsap (wrist) didn't play after halftime, but it was guys like Mason Plumlee and Trey Lyles who benefited the most. That speaks volumes about Faried's lack of fantasy appeal in Denver. Sunday, 9:47 pm
  • Paul Millsap (wrist) awaits X-rays results
Paul Millsap (left wrist) had X-rays taken after leaving Sunday's game in the first half, but the results aren't yet known.

Advice: Millsap didn't play after halftime on Sunday, but Denver was trailing by more than 20 points so hopefully this isn't a long-term issue. The X-rays results should be disclosed soon. If Millsap does miss time, Trey Lyles should gain the most, with guys like Juan Hernangomez, Kenneth Faried and Mason Plumlee also picking up the slack. Sunday, 9:14 pm
  • Paul Millsap (left wrist sprain) exits Sunday
Paul Millsap exited Sunday's game with a left wrist sprain, finishing with five points, four rebounds, two assists and one 3-pointer in 13 minutes.

Advice: Millsap headed into the locker room and emerged with his wrist taped in the first half, but Will Barton replaced him in the starting lineup after halftime. This could be a simple precaution, especially since Nikola Jokic was ejected early and Denver trailed by 22 points at halftime, but we'll consider Millsap questionable for Monday's road game in Sacramento. Sunday, 8:28 pm
  • Myles Turner scores 25 points with full line
Myles Turner broke out for a season-high 25 points during Sunday's road victory, making 11-of-14 shots with two 3-pointers, seven rebounds, four assists, three blocks and one steal in 32 minutes.

Advice: Since returning from a concussion and neck injury in early November, Turner was averaging a modest 12.0 points, 7.3 boards, 1.1 assists, 0.6 threes and 0.4 steals. He also posted 2.5 blocks per game in that span, which salvaged his value despite atypically poor percentages -- 41.6% from the field and 70.8% from the FT line. It was only a matter of time before he got back on track as an elite big man, and the buy-low window just slammed shut. Sunday, 5:02 pm
  • Tyson Chandler, Jared Dudley out Sunday
Tyson Chandler (illness) and Jared Dudley (knee) will not play vs. the Bulls on Sunday.

Advice: Chandler has now missed three straight games. He should be healthy to face the Bucks on Wednesday, but in the meantime Greg Monroe will get another chance to improve his trade value, while Alex Len also picks up extra playing time. Sunday, 3:24 pm
  • Brandan Wright (right groin) out for Monday
Brandan Wright (right groin) won't play vs. the Blazers on Monday.

Advice: Wright didn't return after getting hurt on Saturday and it's no surprise to see him ruled out early for Monday, since groin injuries can take a while to fully heal. Deyonta Davis figures to be the main beneficiary until Wright returns, but he's not a great fantasy option while Marc Gasol is healthy. Sunday, 2:57 pm
  • Tyson Chandler, Jared Dudley are questionable
Tyson Chandler (illness) and Jared Dudley (knee) are still questionable to face the Bulls on Sunday.

Advice: Jay Triano should clarify the status of both players shortly before tip-off, so check back soon if you're targeting the Suns in DFS. Sunday, 2:53 pm
  • Jon Leuer (ankle) out Sunday vs. Minnesota
Jon Leuer (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Timberwolves.

Advice: Leuer has spent the past seven games on the sidelines, and head coach Stan Van Gundy said that Leuer will have an MRI, so we'll be awaiting those results. Eric Moreland and Anthony Tolliver will be splitting Leuer's minutes, but that means very little in fantasy hoops. Sunday, 2:47 pm
    Player Note
    Jon Leuer Det - PF,C
  • Mike Muscala (ankle) probable for Monday
Mike Muscala (ankle) is probable to play Monday vs. the Spurs.

Advice: Muscala was available to play on Saturday but didn't actually step foot on the court, which could indicate he's not currently in the rotation. Whether he plays or not, he won't be receiving enough minutes to make a difference in any format. Sunday, 1:50 pm
  • Anthony Davis (face) is probable for Monday
Anthony Davis (face) is probable for Monday's game vs. the Thunder.

Advice: Davis was in the concussion protocol after taking a shot to the head on Friday, but he has been cleared of the concussion diagnosis and is simply dealing with a facial contusion. His fantasy owners dodged a bullet and can go ahead and pencil him into active lineups. Sunday, 9:13 am
  • Kosta Koufos scores four points
Kosta Koufos scored four points with seven rebounds and two assists in 22 minutes against the Blazers on Saturday.

Advice: Willie Cauley-Stein said he likes to play next to Koufos, so maybe he can find a regular role. Still, there's very little upside here. Saturday, 9:24 pm
  • John Henson quiet in 20 minutes Saturday
John Henson struggled in 20 minutes vs. Dallas on Saturday, scoring five points with two rebounds, one block and one turnover.

Advice: Dallas threw a variety of small lineups out there tonight, which minimized Henson's effectiveness, but a lack of playing time wasn't the only issue -- he also shot 3-of-10 from the free-throw line. That's a career-long issue that fantasy owners should accept as part of the deal, but he's still a great source of boards, blocks and FG percentage. Saturday, 8:53 pm
  • Ryan Anderson posts three triples in road win
Ryan Anderson posted 13 points with four rebounds and an assist across 27 minutes in Saturday's blowout win in Memphis.

Advice: Anderson finished 4-of-7 from the field, including 3-of-5 from behind the arc, before resting for a good chunk of the fourth quarter. Anderson has knocked down nine triples over his past two outings, and that's really what sets him apart for fantasy owners. In fact, he has at least one 3-pointer made in each of his 17 games this season, averaging 2.8 triples per outing. Saturday, 8:40 pm
  • Marc Gasol grabs nine rebounds in loss
Marc Gasol finished with 15 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots across 32 minutes in Saturday's 105-83 loss against the Rockets.

Advice: Gasol's line was pretty decent considering his team had its doors blown off by 22 at home. He has managed at least 15 points with at least five buckets in all eight games in the month of November while posting three or more assists in each of his past six outings. The 32-year-old center continues to post career-best numbers in across the board in most major categories. Saturday, 8:04 pm
  • Mike Muscala (ankle) apparently gets DNP-CD
Mike Muscala (ankle) didn't play vs. Boston on Saturday.

Advice: Muscala said he was available, so presumably coach Mike Budenholzer simply didn't include him in the rotation tonight. He's now missed seven straight games, having last played on Nov. 3, and his fantasy value is non-existent with Dewayne Dedmon playing well and John Collins soaking up the backup-center minutes. Saturday, 7:43 pm
  • John Collins scores 18 points on 7-of-8 FGs
John Collins looked great in 25 minutes off the bench vs. Boston, hitting 7-of-8 shots to finish with 18 points, seven rebounds, one assist and one steal.

Advice: The rookie's energy is palpable when you watch the Hawks, and he even hit 4-of-4 free throws tonight. Collins somehow failed to get to the line in his previous four games, a span of 93 minutes, but at least we know he won't be a liability when he gets there. He's providing late-round value and should only get better throughout the season, so don't hesitate to grab him. Saturday, 7:42 pm
  • Dewayne Dedmon cools off, predictably, vs BOS
Dewayne Dedmon followed up Wednesday's monster game with six points, eight boards and two assists in 22 minutes vs. the Celtics on Saturday.

Advice: Dedmon went off for 20 & 14 with a complete line on Wednesday, hitting 9-of-10 shots in just 24 minutes of action -- efficient shooting is a pillar of his fantasy value, but that was obviously an outlier. The 28-year-old big man should hover around top-100 roto value all year, while dropping a few rounds lower in leagues that don't value FG%. Saturday, 7:35 pm
  • Derrick Favors busts out with 25 and 11
Derrick Favors made 10-of-12 from the field and all five free throws for a season-high 25 points with 11 rebounds, three assists and two blocks in 25 minutes against the Magic on Saturday.

Advice: Besides the awesome stat line, this was probably the best Favors has looked all year. He was battling for position down low and he is establishing a nice rapport with Donovan Mitchell -- the guard threw one off the glass to feed Favors for a dunk. He is easily a beneficiary from the Rudy Gobert (knee) and things are looking up now that he looks spry again. He could be a sell-high player, but there's a good chance Favors cruises in the next month. Saturday, 7:22 pm
  • Sweet sixteens for Dwight Howard
Dwight Howard posted 16 points with 16 rebounds in Saturday's 102-87 victory against the Clippers.

Advice: Howard was very efficient from the floor, hitting 7-of-10. He also chipped in with a pair of steals, an assist and a blocked shot. Really, the only complain from fantasy owners would be about his 2-of-6 evening at the free-throw stripe, but you weren't expecting Steph Curry in that category when the drafted Howard, were you? Howard, nicknamed 'The Daily Double', averaged a double-double in each of his first 13 NBA seasons. He remains on target to hit the mark again in 2017-18. Saturday, 6:58 pm
  • Nikola Vucevic scores eight points
Nikola Vucevic scored eight points during a 126-85 loss to the Jazz on Saturday, adding two rebounds, one assist, two blocks and three steals in 24 minutes.

Advice: Hey, at least the defensive stats were there. This was arguably his worst game as Derrick Favors dominated him on both ends. Vucevic's October was obviously unsustainable overall, but he's still hanging 1.7 treys per game in November to help him get to 14 per night. The Magic offense overall has really flattened out, but Vooch should still be able to flirt with top-40 value going forward. Saturday, 6:44 pm
  • Brandan Wright (right groin) will not return
Brandan Wright (right groin) will not return on Saturday night.

Advice: The team ruled him out at half after Wright departed tonight's game with 8:26 left in the second quarter. He was playing well as Marc Gasol's backup and he was even seeing minutes at power forward, so this could be a tough one to overcome for the Grizzlies' second unit. If he needs to miss time, Deyonta Davis could move into the rotation or the Grizzlies could go smaller more often. Saturday, 6:16 pm
  • Mike Muscala (ankle) available to play Sat
Mike Muscala (ankle) said he will be available to play Saturday vs. the Celtics.

Advice: Muscala has missed six straight games. He had started five of the previous six contests he played in prior to the ankle injury and averaged 24.2 minutes per game during that stretch. His return will likely eat into the playing time of John Collins. Starter Dewayne Dedmon may see his minutes scaled back slightly as well. Saturday, 8:09 am
  • Paul Millsap scores 20 points in full line
Paul Millsap scored 20 points with six rebounds, seven assists, two blocks, two steals and three 3-pointers in 27 minutes against the Pelicans on Friday.

Advice: October was not fun, but Millsap is having himself quite a month in November. In his last eight games, he averaged 17.6 points, 5.0 boards, 4.1 assists, 1.6 steals, 1.8 blocks and 1.6 treys. His Atlanta offense and this Denver offense are night and day, but now he seems to have it figured out. If you bought low on Halloween, you're in for a treat. Friday, 10:40 pm
  • Kosta Koufos plays team-high 33 minutes
Kosta Koufos scored 10 points with seven rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block in 33 minutes against the Blazers on Friday.

Advice: He played great next to Willie Cauley-Stein in the second unit to keep the Blazers to 82 points. It may be tough for Koufos to see run every night, but getting a win when he played a team-high 33 minutes should help his case. We'll see if he plays in the back-to-back set on Saturday. It's really hard to add him with how often coach Dave Joerger changes his rotation. Friday, 10:15 pm
  • Anthony Davis suffers a concussion Friday
Anthony Davis suffered a concussion on Friday vs. the Nuggets and will not return.

Advice: His night finished with 17 points (7-of-11 FGs, 3-of-5 FTs), five rebounds, two assists and one steal in 21 minutes. We don't know the severity quite yet and the timetables for concussions can vary quite a bit, so it's too early to speculate on how much time he will miss. Coach Alvin Gentry loves Dante Cunningham for some reason, but it's possible he turns to Cheick Diallo if Davis misses time. Friday, 9:16 pm
  • Pau Gasol swats two shots in Friday's win
Pau Gasol was good for 14 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two blocked shots and a pair of 3-pointers in Friday's home win against Oklahoma City.

Advice: Gasol continues to be very consistent for fantasy owners, at least in the rebounds and assists categories. He he managed at least seven rebounds in four games in a row, and 15 of his 16 outings this season. He also has four assists in each of his past four outings, while hitting the mark in six straight contests. His scoring can yo-yo, but he remains a fantastic fantasy option even at 37 years old. Friday, 9:00 pm
  • Anthony Davis (head) goes to locker room
Anthony Davis went to the locker room on Friday vs. the Nuggets after colliding heads with Nikola Jokic. Friday, 8:59 pm
  • LaMarcus Aldridge grabs nine boards in win
LaMarcus Aldridge finished with 26 points, nine rebounds and an assist across 36 minutes in Friday's 104-101 win against the Thunder.

Advice: The Spurs were able to erase a 23-point deficit, and Aldridge was a huge part of the turnaround. He grabbed an offensive rebound and had a put back with 24.2 seconds remaining to put the Spurs up for good. Aldridge is averaging 24.3 PPG over the past three outings, slightly over his 22.0 PPG average on the season. Aldridge and his teammates will have the weekend off from game action before returning to host the Hawks on Monday night. Friday, 8:51 pm
  • Kevin Love knocks down three triples in win
Kevin Love posted 25 points with eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and a blocked shot across 42 minutes in Friday's win against the Clippers.

Advice: Love hit 9-of-18 from the field, including 3-of-7 from behind the arc, and his plus-9 rating was the best among all Cavs starters. This was just the second time this season he has posted 20 or more points in back-to-back games, and he hasn't done it in three straight outings yet. He'll look to keep up the good work in Monday's game at Detroit. Friday, 7:45 pm
  • Blake Griffin posts 23 and 12 in OT loss
Blake Griffin finished with 23 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, two steals and a blocked shot across 42 minutes in Friday's overtime loss in Cleveland.

Advice: The frontcourt did a good job of taking advantage of the weak center position for the Cavs and they nearly pulled off the road upset. He has scored 23 or more points in a season-high three straight outings, and the double-double was just his fourth of the season in 14 contests. He'll be back at it Saturday night in Charlotte, and should get a bigger tests against the likes of Dwight Howard, Marvin Williams and the larger frontcourt of the Hornets. Friday, 7:30 pm
  • Myles Turner doesn't play down the stretch
Myles Turner did not play down the stretch against the Pistons on Friday, making 3-of-13 from the field for seven points with five rebounds, one assist, three blocks and one 3-pointer in 24 minutes.

Advice: He just didn't have it on offense while the Pacers were rolling with their unit without him in the fourth. Shockingly, Turner missed all 10 shots from within 20 feet in this game, so credit Andre Drummond there. Turner has kind of cooled off since his "I'm back" 21-point, 12-board game on Nov. 7, averaging 9.8 points, 6.6 boards, 1.6 assists, 0.4 treys and 2.6 blocks in those five. The blocks are still making his owners happy, but this presents one of the best buy-low opportunities for one of the hardest categories to add in fantasy. We still view Turner as an elite fantasy asset. Friday, 6:57 pm
  • Jon Leuer (ankle) ruled out
Jon Leuer (ankle) is inactive for Friday against the Pacers.

Advice: He hasn't been expected to play all day. With Leuer out, it will likely be Eric Moreland getting the backup center minutes because Domantas Sabonis is active. If Sabonis is limited, maybe we get some Boban Marjanovic action. Friday, 3:35 pm
    Player Note
    Jon Leuer Det - PF,C
  • Mike Muscala is questionable
Mike Muscala (ankle) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Celtics.

Advice: The Hawks do have Ersan Ilyasova back now and they could always play John Collins at the four in some situations, so they may not need Muscala much. Collins is going to get almost all of the backup center minutes without Muscala as well. Friday, 1:56 pm
  • Mike Muscala (ankle) questionable for Sat
Coach Mike Budenholzer said Mike Muscala (ankle) participated in "70-80 percent of practice" on Friday "could be available" for Saturday's game vs. the Celtics.

Advice: Muscala, who has missed six straight contests for Atlanta, had started five of the previous six games he played prior to the ankle injury. Dewayne Dedmon and John Collins have logged additional minutes in his absence. Friday, 10:57 am
  • Jon Leuer (ankle) doubtful for Friday
Coach Stan Van Gundy said Jon Leuer (ankle) didn't participate in the walkthrough and is doubtful for Friday's game vs. the Pacers.

Advice: This is not surprising after it was reported that Leuer had a "flare up" on Thursday. Leuer has missed six straight games due to the ankle issue. Eric Moreland will continue to serve as Andre Drummond's primary backup at center. Friday, 9:25 am
    Player Note
    Jon Leuer Det - PF,C
  • Ryan Anderson scores season-high 24 points
Ryan Anderson scored a season-high 24 points with four rebounds, one block and six 3-pointers against the Suns on Thursday.

Advice: The Suns forgot to defend the 3-point line and maybe coach Jay Triano should've made a lineup tweak like many coaches do against this starting unit. Anderson was already trending down and now he'll have to give up shots to Chris Paul. His fantasy owners should expect him to be more of a fringe asset in standard leagues. Thursday, 10:24 pm
  • Al Horford plays well in 14th straight win
Al Horford scored 18 points with 11 rebounds, two assists and five turnover during a 92-88 win over the Warriors on Thursday.

Advice: He was the best Celtic in this game and helped keep the Warriors to their lowest score since Kevin Durant joined forces with Stephen Curry and company. The Celtics went on a 19-4 run to close out the third to help them tie the game up heading into the fourth quarter. After their 0-2 start, the Celtics have their longest winning streak since 2010 and already have a three-game cushion for the top seed in the Eastern Conference. Horford is locked and loaded as an early-round player at a premium position. Thursday, 8:52 pm
  • Jon Leuer (ankle) had a flare up
Jon Leuer (ankle) felt tight on Wednesday on and had a "flare up" on Thursday.

Advice: He did not practice today after he did not play on Wednesday. Leuer was available to play, but the tightness kept him out. If he's out again, Eric Moreland could get minutes in the upper teens like his 19 on Wednesday. Thursday, 1:20 pm
    Player Note
    Jon Leuer Det - PF,C
  • Tyson Chandler out Thursday and Friday
Tyson Chandler (illness) won't play on Thursday or Friday against the Rockets and Lakers.

Advice: The Suns shut him down for months last season when he was healthy to improve their draft position, so they aren't going to play him at less than 100 percent. It's unclear if Greg Monroe (calf) will make his Suns debut, but Alex Len is in line for a significant workload either way. Thursday, 9:55 am
  • Nikola Vucevic double-doubles w/ four dimes
Nikola Vucevic posted his fifth double-double of the season on Wednesday with 11 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and one 3-pointer.

Advice: Vuc played 31 minutes during tonight's road loss, which is a great sign after he played 27 or fewer minutes in Orlando's previous three games. His 3-pointers have spiked this season but most owners would rather see their center blocking shots, and Vuc is averaging a mere 0.2 swats in his past 10 games. He's been a terrific overall value this year, of course, so we'll cut him some slack. Wednesday, 10:44 pm
  • John Henson double-doubles w/ two blocks
John Henson got his first double-double of the season on Wednesday with 10 points, 10 rebounds and a pair of blocks in 28 minutes.

Advice: It's impressive that Henson hauled in double-digit boards against Andre Drummond, the league-leader in that category, but Detroit helped his case by shooting 35.3% from the field tonight. Henson made 5-of-9 FGs tonight but he was 0-of-4 at the line -- he's a career 57.1% FT shooter, so that's just something owners will have to accept. Wednesday, 9:08 pm
  • Jon Leuer (ankle) gets healthy DNP-CD
Jon Leuer (sprained left ankle) was available to play on Wednesday but he didn't leave Detroit's bench.

Advice: Leuer is part of a big-man committee for the Pistons, but tonight it was Eric Moreland playing 19 minutes to finish scoreless with nine boards and two blocks. Neither guy is a fantasy asset while Andre Drummond, Tobias Harris and Anthony Tolliver (nine points in 31 minutes) are healthy. Wednesday, 9:06 pm
    Player Note
    Jon Leuer Det - PF,C
  • Anthony Davis scores just 19 points
Anthony Davis scored 19 points with five rebounds, one assist, one block, three steals and one 3-pointer in 34 minutes during a 125-116 loss to the Raptors on Wednesday.

Advice: Surprisingly, he hasn't hit 20 points in three of his last four despite playing 34 minutes in each. He was actually good efficiency wise in all of those, but the usage was the problem with his usage rate ranging from 17.8 to 21.7 in this four-game cold streak. Before this, he was below 22 in just one game, but there's still little reason to be worried. AD is a monster this year and he won't need a 30 usage rate to be fantasy's top player if healthy. Wednesday, 8:38 pm
  • Marc Gasol: 35/13/5 and five blocks in defeat
Marc Gasol piled up 35 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and five blocks in a losing effort on Wednesday.

Advice: Gasol made 12-of-24 FGs and 8-of-9 FTs with three 3-pointers and just two turnovers in 39 minutes. It was a monster performance as he tried to make up for the absence of Mike Conley (Achilles), but the result was the Grizzlies' third straight loss. That doesn't make it any less spectacular for fantasy purposes, of course. Wednesday, 8:29 pm
  • Myles Turner blocks three shots, plays 33 min
Myles Turner logged 33 minutes vs. Memphis on Wednesday, finishing with 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting, five rebounds, four assists and three blocks.

Advice: Turner hasn't been his dominant self since returning from a concussion, and he admitted that he's "not quite 100 percent." His owners may be growing restless, so this is the ideal time to make some discounted trade offers -- it's only a matter of time before he's back among the center elites. Wednesday, 8:25 pm
  • Dwight Howard fouls out w/ quiet line
Charlotte lost their fifth straight game on Wednesday, with Dwight Howard contributing just eight points and five boards before fouling out.

Advice: Dwight is averaging a strong double-double this year with 14.4 points and 13.2 rebounds, and this was a big letdown against a vulnerable Cavs' frontcourt. He'll bounce back in a hurry against the Bulls on Friday. Wednesday, 8:04 pm
  • Kevin Love gets 22 & 10 in win vs. Hornets
The Cavs earned their first three-game win streak of the season on Wednesday, aided by Kevin Love's 22 points and 10 rebounds.

Advice: Love did his damage in just 27 minutes tonight, hitting 9-of-16 shots while chipping in one steal, one block and one 3-pointer. After a quiet six-point effort vs. the Knicks on Monday, this is exactly what Love's fantasy owners were hoping to see. Hopefully he can keep it going vs. the Clippers' frontcourt on Friday. Wednesday, 8:00 pm
  • Derrick Favors gets 10 reb, 5 ast, 3 blk
Derrick Favors made 3-of-11 shots for six points on Wednesday, adding 10 rebounds, five assists, three blocks and one steal in 34 minutes.

Advice: Rudy Gobert (knee) will be re-evaluated in about a month, until which time Favors will be tasked with holding down the frontcourt. The expanded opportunity made him a red-hot fantasy pickup, and games like this help justify the decision -- he even came within two assists of his previous career-high. Wednesday, 7:31 pm
  • Dewayne Dedmon, Hawks roll to 46-point win
Dewayne Dedmon helped the Hawks earn a franchise-high 46-point victory on Wednesday, posting 20 points on 9-of-10 shooting, 14 rebounds, five assists, two steals, two blocks and one 3-pointer.

Advice: Dedmon had a double-double and a full line by halftime, and he racked up these numbers in a mere 24 minutes tonight. His preseason 3-point shooting has proven to be sustainable, happily, and he's now averaging 0.6 triples on 45.0 percent shooting from deep. Even if this was Dedmon's high-water mark for the season, there's no reason he can't maintain top-100 roto value. Wednesday, 7:12 pm
  • Tyson Chandler (illness) questionable vs. HOU
Tyson Chandler (illness) is questionable to face the Rockets on Thursday.

Advice: This is not the same thing as his back injury that kept him out of action last week. If Chandler can't play, the Suns could play Alex Len big minutes, assuming he avoids foul trouble. Greg Monroe is also questionable and could possible suit up. Wednesday, 11:54 am
  • Jon Leuer (ankle) available to play Wednesday
Jon Leuer (ankle) will be available to play Wednesday against Milwaukee.

Advice: He's spent the past five games on the sidelines, so the Pistons may want to ease him back into things with limited minutes. Anthony Tolliver and Eric Moreland might not play as much tonight, but none of these guys can be considered viable targets in most settings. Wednesday, 9:36 am
    Player Note
    Jon Leuer Det - PF,C
  • Myles Turner says he's still not 100 percent
Myles Turner said he's still not quite 100 percent after missing seven games with a concussion earlier this season.

Advice: "I'm not quite 100 percent," Turner said Tuesday. "I'm getting there, but I'm not where I want to be yet." Since returning to the court, Turner has been averaging just 27.2 minutes a night to go with 13.2 points, 8.0 boards and 2.3 blocks per contest on 44.1 percent shooting. Nate McMillan has also been experimenting with different lineups, and because he hasn't played Domantas Sabonis much alongside Turner, Sabonis has been eating into Turner's minutes. That's not a trend we'd expect to continue, so now would be a good time to float out some buy-low offers to Turner owners. Wednesday, 8:00 am
  • Pau Gasol quiet in win over Mavericks
Pau Gasol hit just 1-of-5 shots in 23 minutes to finish with two points, 10 rebounds and four assists in Tuesday's 97-91 win over the Mavericks.

Advice: He didn't hit a 3-pointer, record a steal or block a shot, so this was a disappointing night against the Mavericks, who tend to struggle against opposing centers. And with the Spurs playing again on Wednesday night, Gasol is a strong candidate to sit that one out. On a positive note, Gregg Popovich became the fastest NBA coach to 500 road wins, getting there in just 835 away games - 41 fewer than Pat Riley. Tuesday, 8:36 pm
  • LaMarcus Aldridge scores season-high 32
LaMarcus Aldridge hit 12-of-21 shots and 8-of-10 free throws on his way to a season-high 32 points, five rebounds, four assists, a steal and two blocks in Tuesday's 97-91 win over the Mavericks.

Advice: The Mavs are really bad against opposing bigs so it's not surprising that LMA went off tonight, despite a slow first half. As good as Aldridge has been this season it's hard to believe that's his season high, but he's scored in double figures in every game thus far and racked up at least 20 points in 11 of his 14 outings. The Spurs have the second of a back-to-back on Wednesday against the Timberwolves, meaning that every single player on the team is a question mark for tonight, including Aldridge. Tuesday, 8:29 pm
  • Ryan Anderson scores nine points
Ryan Anderson scored nine points with eight rebounds, one block and two 3-pointers vs. the Raptors on Tuesday.

Advice: He was 3-of-8 from the field and 1-of-2 from the line, and the Rockets were torched when he was on the floor -- he had a +/- rating of -24 in his 31 minutes. Anderson is worth owning for 2.6 triples per game, but that's really all he's bringing to the table right now. Tuesday, 8:15 pm
  • Jarrett Allen (left foot) plays nine minutes
Jarrett Allen (left foot) returned to action on Tuesday vs. Boston with two points, one rebound and one assist in nine minutes.

Advice: Allen missed the past six games, but he's worth keeping an eye on in case his role grows. Timofey Mozgov was benched in favor of Trevor Booker tonight, and it shouldn't be long before Allen passes guys like Mozgov and Quincy Acy on the depth chart. If Allen can eventually carve out a role of 20+ minutes, he could be an excellent source of blocks. Tuesday, 7:18 pm
  • Al Horford double-doubles in win
Al Horford hit 8-of-10 shots and a 3-pointer for 17 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and a steal in 30 minutes of Tuesday's 109-102 win over the Nets.

Advice: Horford's been back for two games since his concussion and hasn't done much, other than make 16-of-19 shots, hit a couple threes, and average 19 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals. This is going much better than when he took a long time to get back on track after a concussion last season. Oh, and the Celtics have won 13 straight games since starting out the season 0-2. Tuesday, 6:57 pm
  • Jarrett Allen (foot) will play on Tuesday
Jarrett Allen (left foot) will play Tuesday vs. the Celtics.

Advice: "The glimpse we've seen, I really like it," said head coach Kenny Atkinson. "Especially defensively, he could really help us - it's good news that he's back." Allen has spent the past six games on the sidelines, so he could be limited tonight, but his return to action could bump Tyler Zeller from the rotation. Allen has a lot of upside for his ability to rack up the swats, but with his playing time being limited to the teens thus far, he can only be viewed as a stash in deep leagues. Tuesday, 2:55 pm
  • Mike Muscala (ankle) doubtful for Wednesday
Mike Muscala (ankle) is doubtful to play Wednesday vs. Sacramento.

Advice: It looks like Wednesday will mark Muscala's sixth straight game on the sidelines, which will translate to more minutes for John Collins. Muscala isn't worth hanging onto in most formats. Tuesday, 1:12 pm
  • Jon Leuer (ankle) questionable for Wednesday
Stan Van Gundy said Jon Leuer (ankle) participated fully in practice on Tuesday and is questionable for Wednesday's game vs. Milwaukee.

Advice: Leuer has missed five consecutive contests since spraining his ankle back on Halloween. If Leuer is out again on Wednesday, Anthony Tolliver and Eric Moreland will again soak up most of his minutes. Tuesday, 10:58 am
    Player Note
    Jon Leuer Det - PF,C
  • Blake Griffin scores 29 in loss to Sixers
Blake Griffin hit 10-of-25 shots and three 3-pointers for 29 points, six rebounds, five assists, a block and five turnovers in 36 minutes of Monday's loss to Philly.

Advice: He also hit 6-of-8 free throws and came in shooting 78 percent from the free throw line. Based on where he was a couple years ago, the free throw turnaround is fantastic, as he's a career 68 percent shooter from the line. And over his last five games, he's hit 82 percent of them to go along with his 22 points, 6.6 boards, 5.2 assists, 0.8 steals and 2.0 3-pointers. Monday, 10:26 pm
  • Paul Millsap drains five treys in loss
Paul Millsap hit 6-of-16 shots and a season-high five 3-pointers for 18 points, five rebounds, a steal and a block in 34 minutes of Monday's 99-82 loss to the Blazers.

Advice: Millsap has been a bit disappointing this season, but has been Mr. Consistency in his last four games, scoring 17, 17, 16 and 18 points while averaging 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.5 steals, 2.8 blocks and 1.5 3-pointers in that span, shooting 44 percent. Millsap appears to be coming on and the fact he knocked down five triples is icing on the cake. Hopefully his slow start will be a distant memory in a couple weeks. Monday, 10:09 pm
  • Nikola Vucevic scores 20 in loss to GSW
Nikola Vucevic hit 7-of-13 shots and 4-of-4 free throws for a team-high 20 points in Monday's 110-100 loss to the Warriors.

Advice: The Warriors have been generous to opposing centers all season with the fourth most fantasy points allowed, so Vucevic took full advantage of their undersized frontcourt. He added five rebounds with four assists, one steal and two triples in 27 minutes, and he's still rolling right along with top-24 value in standard 9-category leagues. With Orlando looking like a playoff team, we see no reason to sell-high. Monday, 10:02 pm
  • Tyson Chandler scores seven with 15 boards
Tyson Chandler scored seven points with 15 rebounds, two assists and no turnovers in 28 minutes against the Lakers on Monday.

Advice: That's 28 minutes in back-to-back games for the former Defensive Player of the Year. Chandler closed this game out and he's made all four of his shots from the field in his last two games. The Suns are likely going to keep playing him decent minutes in the 2017 portion of this season, so he may have some short-term value. Monday, 8:52 pm
  • Derrick Favors posts 9-10-1 line in loss
Derrick Favors hit 4-of-9 shots for nine points, 10 rebounds and one block in 27 minutes of Monday's loss to Minnesota.

Advice: He's starting at center for Rudy Gobert and should flourish for the next two months. He didn't blow anyone's socks off, but a near double-double with a block works, and he should be owned everywhere given Gobert's injury. Monday, 8:28 pm
  • John Henson scores 17 w/ 8 boards, 2 blocks
John Henson scored a season-high 17 points with eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks in 25 minutes vs. the Grizzlies on Monday.

Advice: Despite the tough matchup, Henson came through for his fantasy owners in a big way, shooting 8-of-10 from the field and knocking down his only free throw. Greg Monroe is a goner and Henson is locked in as the starting center, so he has to be owned in standard leagues. He's averaging 9.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.4 blocks over his last five and the Bucks will need a big game from him on Wednesday vs. Andre Drummond and the Pistons. Monday, 8:06 pm
  • Anthony Davis plays through back scare
Anthony Davis played through an apparent back injury on Monday and hit 5-of-7 shots for 13 points, 10 rebounds, seven dimes, two steals and four blocks in 38 minutes of a 106-105 win over the Hawks.

Advice: He slipped on a mop and appeared to tweak his back, but stayed on the court. The 13 points were easily a season low for a full night of work, although he also had a two-point game when he played just five minutes on Oct. 24. He's always an injury risk but he's been able to stay on the court for all but two games early in the season, so now we just have to hope his back feels good when he wakes up in the morning. He should be fine.. Nov 13, 7:53 pm
  • Kevin Love benched late, scores six points
Kevin Love was benched down the stretch of Monday's win over the Knicks, finishing with six points, six rebounds, two assists and two turnovers in 23 minutes.

Advice: He was 2-of-9 from the field and was getting bullied down low by Enes Kanter. Channing Frye was a +20 during his time on the floor and the Cleveland's second unit (and LeBron) mounted an epic comeback late, so Love didn't touch the floor in the fourth quarter. Love was putting up 26.0 points and 12.3 rebounds in his previous three, so look for him to bounce back in a big way vs. Charlotte on Wednesday. Nov 13, 7:24 pm
  • Mike Muscala (ankle) ruled out Monday
Mike Muscala (ankle) won't play on Monday vs. the Pelicans.

Advice: This is Muscala's fifth game on the shelf and he could miss more time as well. Dewayne Dedmon and John Collins will have their hands full with DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis, while Luke Babbitt will see more minutes as well. Nov 13, 4:22 pm
  • Derrick Favors ready to step up sans Gobert
Derrick Favors said he's "excited" to step into a larger role for the Jazz while Rudy Gobert (knee) is sidelined.

Advice: "I’m excited about it: It’s a new challenge for me," Favors said. "I get to be a big part of the offense now, and a big part of the defense too. It’s a big responsibility, but I’m ready for it." Favors posted a 24-point, 12-board double-double through 36 minutes as the starting center on Saturday, so he's obviously going to be the primary beneficiary of Gobert's absence. Thabo Sefolosha also moved into the starting five and ripped away five steals, so he's on the radar as a steals specialist. Nov 13, 1:10 pm
  • Jarrett Allen (foot) practices in full Monday
Jarrett Allen (left foot) was a full participant during Monday's practice.

Advice: Allen said he "went hard" at practice and felt "little foot pain," which is encouraging regarding his status for Tuesday's game against the Celtics. He's currently being listed as questionable and will be re-evaluated on Tuesday, so owners can expect to get another update following shootaround. If he is able to get back out there, Quincy Acy's minutes will take a hit and Tyler Zeller could drop from the rotation entirely. Nov 13, 11:58 am
  • Ryan Anderson posts hollow line vs. Pacers
Ryan Anderson had made 2-of-7 shots with one 3-pointer to finish Sunday's win in Indiana with five points, nine rebounds (four offensive), and zero assists, steals or blocks.

Advice: Beyond his 2.8 triples per game, which bolsters his appeal, Anderson is averaging a modest 11.8 points, 5.5 boards, 0.8 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.5 blocks. He's shooting 43.4% from the field, and even his solid free throw shooting (85.7%) barely helps due to a career-low 1.1 attempts per game. As usual, he's little more than a 3-point specialist. • Al Horford scores 21 points in his return
Al Horford (concussion) scored 21 points in his return from a two-game absence on Sunday, adding one 3-pointer, three rebounds, four assists, two steals and two turnovers in 33 minutes.

Advice: Horford was nearly perfect in this one, going 8-of-9 from the field and 4-of-5 from the stripe for an incredible true shooting percentage of 93.8. He didn’t even miss his first shot until late in the fourth quarter, and he also threw down a few highlight-reel jams (link below), so that, partnered with the heavy minutes would suggest he'll be just fine moving forward. • Mike Muscala (ankle) doubtful Monday vs. NO
Mike Muscala (ankle) is doubtful to play Monday vs. the Pelicans.

Advice: This will be Muscala's fifth straight game on the sidelines which will translate to more run for Dewayne Dedmon, John Collins and Luke Babbitt. Muscala isn't worth owning in most leagues. Nov 12, 1:50 pm
  • Jon Leuer (ankle) out Sunday vs. the Heat
Jon Leuer (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Heat.

Advice: This will be No. 5 on the sidelines for Leuer, and there haven't been many reports of him making much progress, so he should be considered questionable at best for Wednesday's game in Milwaukee. Anthony Tolliver and Eric Moreland will continue to see an uptick in minutes sans Leuer, but that doesn't mean much in fantasy hoops. Nov 12, 11:31 am
    Player Note

  • Al Horford (concussion) good to go Sunday
Al Horford (concussion) is good to go for Sunday's game vs. the Raptors.

Advice: He went through the morning shootaround and there's no word of any restrictions. With Kyrie Irving (face) out, the Celtics will be running quite a bit of offense through the big man today. Get him back in your lineups. Aron Baynes' value takes a significant hit with Horford back. Nov 12, 10:38 am
  • Tyson Chandler returns to action
Tyson Chandler (back) scored four points with six rebounds and two blocks in 28 minutes against the Wolves on Saturday.

Advice: After a couple games off, Chandler looked fine despite not being announced as a starter until right before tip. Chandler will eventually lose minutes once the Suns fall out of it and he could be a buyout candidate, as well. He may have some short-term value in deeper leagues. Nov 11, 10:45 pm
  • Derrick Favors busy in the middle
Derrick Favors finished with season highs of 24 points, 12 rebounds and two blocked shots across 36 minutes in Saturday's win against the Nets.

Advice: Favors stepped up and had a big game on the glass and with the blocked shots, helping pick up the slack with Rudy Gobert (knee). The French center was able to take part in warm-ups, so he isn't expected to be sidelined long. However, as long as Gobert is on the shelf Favors could see a slight increase in scoring, rebounds and blocked shots. Nov 11, 9:55 pm
  • Pau Gasol goes for 21 and 10 in blowout
Pau Gasol finished with 21 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, two steals and a blocked shot across 27 minutes in Saturday's 133-94 rout of the Bulls.

Advice: The veteran didn't see any disruption to his playing time despite the lopsided nature of the game. In fact, he saw seven more minutes than he did last time out on Friday night against the Bucks. He finished 8-of-11 from the field, including 3-of-3 from behind the arc, while knocking down at least one triple in a season-high four consecutive outings. Nov 11, 9:33 pm
  • John Henson logs 26 minutes vs. Lakers
John Henson had eight points, seven rebounds, one assist and one block in 26 minutes during a win vs. the visiting Lakers on Saturday.

Advice: Henson likely would have played more tonight if he hadn't racked up five personal fouls, which is nothing new -- he's averaging a career-high 4.9 fouls on a per-36-minute basis. He still did enough to appease owners who got him off the wire, and is an obvious must-hold with the starting job and Greg Monroe out of town. Nov 11, 9:12 pm
  • Kevin Love finishes with 29 in Big D
Kevin Love connected on 11-of-19 from the field to finish with 29 points, 15 rebounds, three assists and a blocked shot across 36 minutes in Saturday's 111-104 win at Dallas.

Advice: Love did most of his offensive damage in the third quarter, scoring 13 points as the Cavs outscored the Mavs 34-22 to pull themselves up and avoid an embarrassing road loss. Kevlar banged home three 3-pointers for the second consecutive game, and he has at least two triples in each of his past five contests away from home. Nov 11, 8:04 pm
  • Anthony Davis goes off yet again vs. Clips
Anthony Davis scored 25 points with 10 rebounds, six assists, two blocks, two steals and one turnover in 40 minutes against the Clippers on Saturday.

Advice: He's just incredible and is racking up the stats all over the place, averaging 26.7 points, 11.5 boards, 3.0 assists, 1.5 steals, 2.2 blocks and 1.1 treys on 58.2 percent from the field and 79.1 percent from the line on the season. Davis' usage rate has dropped to 25.7 this year, but who cares when he's at a beautiful 66.3 TS%? He is fantasy basketball's No. 1 player right now. Stay healthy, big man. Nov 11, 7:28 pm
  • Blake Griffin struggling with his shot
Blake Griffin made 9-of-27 from the field for 26 points in a 111-103 loss to the Pelicans on Saturday, adding four rebounds, six assists, one block and two 3-pointers.

Advice: What happened to that 4-0 start? The Clippers are slipping in the standings with their 5-7 record, and Blake's shooting is doing the same thing. In the last three games, Griffin has attempted 59 shots from the field, but he's made just 30.5 percent of them. He is leaning on his jumper a lot more these days, so he'll be more likely to go through slumps like these. He'll snap out of it soon and will try to do so against the 76ers on Monday. Nov 11, 7:15 pm
  • John Collins scores two in 22 minutes
John Collins scored two points with three rebounds, one assist and five fouls in 22 minutes against the Wizards on Saturday.

Advice: He did log some minutes at power forward today, but again foul trouble is the story here with four quick ones to start. Much like Marquese Chriss, Collins' energy is a double-edged sword and it's made him rack up fouls at a rate which few players can match. Still, he is quite a talent and should be owned in standard leagues. Nov 11, 6:30 pm
  • Tyson Chandler, Tyler Ulis listed as starters
Tyler Ulis, Devin Booker, T.J. Warren, Marquese Chriss and Tyson Chandler will start against the Wolves on Saturday.

Advice: It's a big shake up with Ulis unseating Mike James and Chandler returning to action after missing two games. Alex Len should still get 20-25 minutes tonight, so he's still a hole. We'll let you know how Ulis does, but clearly the Suns want to get him going after a rough start. Nov 11, 6:10 pm
  • Tyson Chandler game time; Jared Dudley out
Tyson Chandler (back) is a game-time decision and Jared Dudley (knee) is out against the Wolves on Saturday.

Advice: We saw Alex Len get 40 minutes on Friday, so he could be looking at big minutes again. With Jared Dudley out, Dragan Bender would likely see more run if Chandler is out as well. Nov 11, 4:21 pm
  • Al Horford (concussion) probable for Sunday
Al Horford (concussion) is probable for Sunday against the Raptors.

Advice: He was close to playing on Friday, so he's almost a lock to play. The Celtics will need him and it'll be interesting to see how he adapt when he's not next to Kyrie Irving, assuming Irving can't go. With Horford back, Aron Baynes may still actually start against Jonas Valanciunas and Serge Ibaka while Daniel Theis should lose minutes. Get Horford in your lineups for tomorrow. Nov 11, 2:12 pm
  • Game notes have Chandler as probable
The game notes have Tyson Chandler (back) listed as probable and Jared Dudley (knee) questionable for Saturday against the Wolves.

Advice: As we always say, trust the process, but don't trust the game notes. Even if Chandler does play, you could say it's a positive that Alex Len won't have to guard Karl-Anthony Towns to start the game. We're considering Chandler questionable. Nov 11, 12:10 pm
  • Jarret Allen out again on Saturday
Jarrett Allen (foot) will not play against the Jazz on Saturday.

Advice: The Nets are pretty much giving him the Caris LeVert treatment from last year and they'll continue to hold him out until he's 100 percent for a long period of time. Allen can be dropped in most leagues, but he could become a hot pickup once he's back. Nov 11, 11:38 am
  • LaMarcus Aldridge scores 20 w/ 12 rebounds
LaMarcus Aldridge scored 20 points with 12 rebounds, four assists, one steal, two blocks and one turnover in Friday's 94-87 loss to the Bucks.

Advice: With an ADP (average draft position) over 50.0 almost everywhere, Aldridge has been crushing it with top-24 value in standard 9-category leagues. He's been carrying the Spurs and will have to keep it up with Kawhi Leonard (quad) still without a timetable. Aldridge hit 8-of-14 shots and 4-of-4 from the line and should feast against the tanking Bulls on Saturday. Nov 10, 9:44 pm
  • Blake Griffin gets held in check
Blake Griffin made 5-of-19 from the field for 17 points with six rebounds, five assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 40 minutes against the Thunder on Friday.

Advice: Everyone picks on the Thunder these days, but they've been outstanding on defense all season. Griffin couldn't do much damage inside and was left open quite a bit on the outside, but he made just 1-of-7 from deep. He's also been trending down over his last two at just 3-of-14. Griffin gets another really tough matchup against Anthony Davis on Saturday. You'll want to tune in to that one. Nov 10, 9:39 pm
  • John Henson bounces back vs. Spurs
John Henson bounced back vs. the Spurs on Friday with 10 points, seven rebounds, six assists, two steals and two blocks in 32 minutes.

Advice: He matched his career-high in dimes for the second time this month and has shown a lot of growth passing it out of the post this season. Henson was coming off a dud due to foul trouble on Wednesday, but he's capable of lines like these and needs to be owned for his upside in blocks and boards, especially with Greg Monroe out of the picture and Thon Maker struggling.
