    Chet Holmgren accumulated 13 points (5-of-9 FGs, 3-of-5 FTs), eight rebounds, three assists, one steal, and four blocked shots in 35 minutes in Saturday’s Game 3 loss to the Mavericks.

    Advice: Holmgren blocked four shots in the first quarter of Game 3, which would be it for his production in that category. The rookie has been solid this series, but the advantage in athleticism that he experienced against New Orleans has not been there. And Oklahoma City having two non-shooters in its starting lineup doesn’t help matters concerning offensive spacing. We’ve seen adjustments to account for that in the last two games, with Josh Giddey’s playing time decreasing sharply, but the Thunder need more from Holmgren and the other non-SGA rotation players to win this series.   • PJ Washington scores team-high 27 points Saturday
    PJ Washington accumulated 27 points (11-of-23 FGs), six rebounds, two assists, and five 3-pointers in 40 minutes in Saturday’s Game 3 win over the Thunder.

    Advice: Faced with defending Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, Oklahoma City has not devoted as much attention to Washington. Given how well he’s played in the last two games, that could change for Game 4 on Monday. After hitting seven 3-pointers and scoring 29 points in Game 2, he made five more in Game 3 while leading the Mavericks in scoring. Washington attempted 23 shots on the afternoon, tied for the most of any player who saw action. PJ has been much better than expected, and Oklahoma City could take the approach of him regressing to the mean eventually. However, the last two games show this is a dangerous strategy.     Gafford (shoulder) has returned for the second half of Saturday's Game 3 against the Thunder, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reports.

  • Undergoing offseason surgery
    Carter will undergo surgery to stabilize the third metacarpal in his left hand, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reported Saturday. Carter is expected to make a full recovery ahead of the 2024-25 season.

    Advice: In simpler terms, Carter will have a procedure to fully fix his left hand -- the same hand he sustained a fractured middle finger on early this season -- and is expected to be ready for the 2024-25 campaign. Carter missed a month and a half after sustaining the injury (which required surgery) in November but was able to return and appear in 55 games (48 starts) overall.   • Drew Eubanks wants to remain with Suns next season
    In a recent interview, Drew Eubanks said he wants to return to the Suns for the 2024-25 season.

    Advice: As Jusuf Nurkic’s backup this season, Eubanks appeared in 75 games (six starts). While he did not significantly impact fantasy basketball, the sixth-year pro made a positive impression on the Suns brass. Eubanks, who has a player option for next season, wants to remain with the team and also said in the interview that the Suns want him back.     Siakam logged 26 points (9-14 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 7-9 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and one block across 31 minutes during Friday's 111-106 win over the Knicks in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

    Advice: Siakam was remarkably efficient during Friday's win, and even though Tyrese Haliburton grabbed most of the headlines with his 35-point effort, Siakam's impact on offense can't be overlooked. The star big man could be in line for another solid showing in Game 4 of the series Sunday, as the Knicks are extremely depleted in the frontcourt while missing key defensive contributors such as Mitchell Robinson (ankle) and OG Anunoby (hamstring).     Advice: Turner made his presence felt on both ends of the court Friday, tying his playoff-high mark in blocks while recording his first double-double of the current playoff run. The Pacers need Turner to continue making a two-way impact if they're going to turn things around in the series, especially considering how depleted the Knicks are in the frontcourt with Julius Randle (shoulder), Mitchell Robinson (ankle) and OG Anunoby (hamstring) all out for Game 4.     Karl-Anthony Towns accumulated 14 points (4-of-7 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), five rebounds, three assists, and four 3-pointers in 33 minutes in Friday’s Game 3 loss to the Nuggets.

    Advice: The good news for Towns is that he shot 4-of-5 from beyond the arc. The bad is that he attempted seven shots overall, which is inexcusable for an offensive talent of his caliber. Friday’s game was the first in which KAT failed to reach double figures since Game 2 of Minnesota’s first-round sweep of the Suns. While the Timberwolves could get away with that against Phoenix, the reigning champs are different.
