  • Gordon Hayward scores 17 in loss
Gordon Hayward scored 17 points in Monday's loss to the Thunder, snapping a six-game winning streak for the Jazz.

Advice: "It was a tough game for us," Hayward said. "I felt like they made the plays when they needed to and we didn't. It's a frustrating one, but it's one you have to try and let go and move on." The Jazz are one of the hottest teams in the West right now and they're still not even at full strength with Rodney Hood (knee) out. The Jazz are just one loss behind the fourth-seeded Clippers and have every reason to keep giving Hayward big minutes the rest of the way. He shot 6-of-17 from the field in the loss and added six rebounds, one assist, one steal and two triples. Rotoworld.com 46 minutes ago
  • Alec Burks scores 13 points in loss to OKC
Alec Burks scored 13 points for the second straight game on Monday vs. the Thunder, shooting 4-of-7 from the field and 5-of-6 from the line with two rebounds and two assists in a season-high 25 minutes

Advice: Burks is now in the rotation with Rodney Hood (knee) out and he played 19 minutes in his previous outing. "Being out for so long, it's hard to get back into the rhythm, but I'm getting there. I feel like I'm getting better," Burks said. "I feel more comfortable with my teammates. I'm making progress." Burks took an ill-advised shot in the final seconds of the two-point loss, but the fact that he was even in there suggests that he will be a big part of Utah's plans in the short term. If you have something to cut in a deep league, give Burks a look since the Jazz play three more times this week. Rotoworld.com 51 minutes ago
  • Victor Oladipo scores 18 points
Victor Oladipo scored 18 points on an efficient 8-of-11 shooting on Monday vs. the Jazz.

Advice: Dipo added four rebounds, one assist, two steals and one triple in 30 minutes, but he said over the weekend that his wrist is still causing him some pain. "Lingering pain and I've fallen on it a few times unluckily," Oladipo said. He added that he's "not worried about it," but he will continue to ice it and receive treatment going forward. If tonight was any indication, Oladipo should be just fine. Rotoworld.com Today, 10:19 pm
  • Stephen Curry scores 20 vs. the Heat
Stephen Curry scored 20 points with 10 rebounds, eight assists, one block and three triples vs. the Heat on Monday.

Advice: He finished 7-of-19 from the field and 4-of-5 from the line with four turnovers in 37 minutes. This was his second 20/10 game of the season and he matched his season high with 10 rebounds. Curry is trending up in the new year and he's averaging 80.5 touches per game with 5.4 seconds per touch in January compared to 76 touches and 4.7 seconds per touch before Jan. 1, and his owners can expect another strong performance in a homecoming game in Charlotte on Wednesday. Rotoworld.com Today, 10:02 pm
  • Justin Holiday scores 13 points in win
Justin Holiday played 32 minutes and hit 4-of-9 shots and three 3-pointers for 13 points, three rebounds, three steals and two blocks in Monday's 109-103 win over the Pacers.

Advice: He's coming off the bench, but is making some noise, averaging 10.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, 0.8 steals, 0.8 blocks and 1.4 3-pointers on 53 percent shooting over his last five games. His 32 minutes were easily his most since Dec. 28, so it's possible he's on the verge of getting hot. Just keep an eye on him. Rotoworld.com Today, 9:54 pm
  • Shaun Livingston returns to action
Shaun Livingston (rest) returned to action on Monday vs. the Heat and scored four points with five assists, five rebounds, one steal and one block in 21 minutes.

Advice: Livingston was averaging 17.4 minutes per game prior to Monday, but saw a few extra minutes tonight with Andre Iguodala resting. Livingston won't be a fantasy factor while Stephen Curry is healthy despite this solid line. Rotoworld.com Today, 9:51 pm
  • Courtney Lee scores 14 in win over Pacers
Courtney Lee hit 3-of-7 shots, a 3-pointer and 7-of-7 free throws for 14 points, four rebounds and one steal in 25 minutes of Monday's 109-103 win over the Pacers.

Advice: He's starting at shooting guard for the Knicks and scored 13 points on Saturday, when he hit three 3-pointers. Maybe he's ready to start scoring 14 points a night, but unless you're simply desperate for 3-pointers, you can probably find a more valuable player off your waiver wire. Rotoworld.com Today, 9:49 pm
  • Glenn Robinson quiet in move to bench
Glenn Robinson III came off the bench and played 18 minutes Monday, finishing with six points, three rebounds and two steals.

Advice: C.J. Miles started over RG3 tonight and the move could stick. If you were holding him, it's probably time to move on. Rotoworld.com Today, 9:36 pm
  • C.J. Miles starts, scores 10 for Pacers
C.J. Miles replaced Glenn Robinson in the starting lineup on Monday and hit 4-of-14 shots and 2-of-9 3-pointers for 10 points, three rebounds, a steal and a block in a 109-103 loss to the Knicks.

Advice: Miles can get hot at any time, but is currently not feeling it, hitting just 29 percent of his shots over his last five games. He's worth keeping an eye on if he sticks in the starting lineup, but he's injury prone and is averaging just 6.8 points and 1.4 3-pointers over his last five. But he's also set to get a boost if Monta Ellis misses time with his sprained ankle, so now might be a good time to think about taking a flier on Miles. Rotoworld.com Today, 9:25 pm
  • Dion Waiters hits game-winner, scores 33
Dion Waiters hit the game-winning 3-pointer in Monday's 105-102 win over the Warriors, finishing with 33 points on 13-of-20 shooting.

Advice: He scored a season-high 33 points for the second game in a row with Tyler Johnson (shoulder) on the shelf, including 11 points in the final quarter. With just a few seconds left in regulation, Waiters pulled up over Klay Thompson for an incredible fadeaway triple (link below). He logged 33 minutes and added five rebounds, four assists, one steal and six triples, and with Johnson out the next two games, it now makes sense to add Waiters while he's rolling. He had a massive 30.3 usage rate tonight and the Heat play three more times this week, but just keep in mind that his FG percentage can be volatile and his value will take a sizable hit when the Heat get some bodies back. Rotoworld.com Today, 9:16 pm
  • Matt Barnes scores 10 off Kings bench
Matt Barnes hit 4-of-9 shots and a 3-pointer for 10 points, eight rebounds, two assists and a steal in Monday's 109-104 win over the Pistons.

Advice: Barnes had gone seven straight games without scoring more than eight points before tonight's 10-point performance, so he's not exactly a must-own player right now. But with Rudy Gay (achilles) done for the season, Barnes and Garrett Temple look like the best bets to play well in his absence. Temple has been playing a little better than Barnes, but that could change at any time. Just keep an eye on Barnes in case this was a sign he's about to get hot. Rotoworld.com Today, 9:04 pm
  • Garrett Temple scores 11 in start for Kings
Garrett Temple started and played 34 minutes on Monday, finishing with 11 points, three rebounds, four assists, a steal and a 3-pointer in a 109-104 win over the Pistons.

Advice: Temple is averaging 10 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.0 3-pointers over his last five games, and will continue to see heavy minutes with Rudy Gay's season over due to a ruptured achilles tendon. But if you want to drop Temple for a red-hot Dion Waiters, it makes sense. Rotoworld.com Today, 9:01 pm
  • Malcolm Brogdon hands out nine assists
Malcolm Brogdon dished out nine assists in Monday's win over the Rockets, finishing with six points, two rebounds and four steals.

Advice: He still can't find his shot and finished 2-of-8 from the field after going 1-of-10 on Saturday. He came off the bench behind Matthew Dellavedova for the second straight game, but still played 30 minutes compared to 31 for Delly. Coach Jason Kidd said before the game that he moved Brogdon to the bench to give the second unit a spark and Brogdon and Greg Monroe (17 points) did exactly that on Monday. As long as the minutes are there, Brogdon is worth holding onto in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Today, 8:58 pm
  • Matthew Dellavedova scores 16 w/ 7 assists
Matthew Dellavedova started again on Monday vs. the Rockets and had 16 points with seven assists.

Advice: He played 31 minutes compared to 30 minutes for Malcolm Brogdon, but both guards should be heavily involved going forward. Delly added three rebounds, two triples and three turnovers, and considering he was coming off a 15-point game with seven assists, two rebounds and two 3-pointers in 36 minutes on Saturday, feel free to give him a look if you need a low-end guard. Rotoworld.com Today, 8:55 pm
  • Caldwell-Pope starts, scores 14 in loss
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope returned from a five-game absence with a shoulder injury and started, finishing with 14 points, five rebounds, four assists, three steals, a block and a 3-pointer on 4-of-14 shooting in 37 minutes on Monday.

Advice: His shot was a little rusty but if you rolled the dice and started him this week, it looks like the move should pay off. The Pistons are somehow off until Saturday, which should give KCP plenty of time to get ready for the Heat. Rotoworld.com Today, 8:50 pm
  • Tyreke Evans plays 12 minutes on Monday
Tyreke Evans played just 12 minutes on Monday, finishing with nine points, two rebounds, four assists and a 3-pointer on 3-of-8 shooting.

Advice: Evans played just 13 minutes on Friday and has scored a total of just 17 points in his last two games after hitting double digits in five straight games, which included a 29-point breakout on Jan. 12. We're guessing his minutes will come back around soon, but for now, he's not a must-start player until his minutes get back to 20-plus again, instead of the 12.5 he's averaged over his last two. Rotoworld.com Today, 8:28 pm
  • James Harden scores 26 w/ 12 assists
James Harden scored 26 points with 12 assists, nine rebounds, four steals, one block and one triple in 40 minutes in Monday's 127-114 loss to the Bucks.

Advice: He came up one rebound short of his 14th triple-double on the season, but he's still leading the league with 39 double-doubles. Harden finished 6-of-10 from the field and 12-of-14 from the line, but according to StatMuse, he's the first player to finish with 11 turnovers in a regular season game vs. the Bucks in the last 30 years. The Rockets are suddenly struggling with five losses in their last eight games, but they will look to bounce back vs. the Celtics on Wednesday, a team that Harden dropped 37 points on earlier this season. Rotoworld.com Today, 7:52 pm
  • Isaiah Whitehead scores career-high 19 points
Isaiah Whitehead scored a career-high 19 points in Monday's loss to the Spurs.

Advice: He scored six points in nine minutes during garbage time of the fourth quarter, but this was one of Whitehead's best games of the season. He finished 6-of-15 from the field and 5-of-5 from the line with a pair of 3-pointers, adding three assists and one rebound in 29 minutes. Whitehead will have a chance to log plenty of minutes going forward with Jeremy Lin (hamstring) out another 3-5 weeks, but keep in mind that he was averaging just 6.6 points and 3.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists in his previous 11 January games. Owners in deeper points leagues can just keep an eye on him for now. Rotoworld.com Today, 7:33 pm
  • Tim Hardaway Jr. bottoms out in loss to Clips
Tim Hardaway Jr. hit just 1-of-6 shots for three points, two rebounds, four assists and a steal in 23 minutes of Monday's loss to the Clippers.

Advice: Hardway is coming off the bench and Kent Bazemore and Thabo Sefolosha are both playing well for the Hawks these days, leaving Hardaway on the outside looking in. If you can drop him for a hot free agent like Dion Waiters, do it. Rotoworld.com Today, 7:28 pm
  • Kent Bazemore scores 25 points in loss
Kent Bazemore hit 9-of-21 shots and three 3-pointers for 25 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals in 33 minutes on Monday.

Advice: The 25 points tied his season high and Bazemore has actually hit double digits in scoring in six of his last seven games. His shooting is always suspect and he's still not fully trustworthy, but outside of last Friday's 19-minute, two-point performance in an impressive blowout of the Bulls, Bazemore has been solid. If he's still available in your league, he's worth a flier, as he has been at several other times this season. Rotoworld.com Today, 7:16 pm
  • Marco Belinelli scores 18 with two 3-pointers
Marco Belinelli came off the bench and hit 5-of-12 shots, two 3-pointers and 6-of-7 free throws for 18 points, three rebounds,, two assists and a steal in 29 minutes on Monday.

Advice: The 18 points were the most he's scored since Dec. 17 and he's now scored in double figures in three of his last four games. He's far from a must-own player, but if you need some points and threes, he's worth a look right now, as long as he can stay hot. The fact that Nicolas Batum had one of his worst games of the season helped Belinelli see 29 minutes, which is the most he's played in the month of January. Rotoworld.com Today, 6:37 pm
  • Nicolas Batum struggles in loss to Wizards
Nicolas Batum hit just 2-of-9 shots for four points, seven rebounds and six assists in 38 minutes of Monday's 109-99 loss to the Wizards.

Advice: Batum didn't have a 3-pointer, steal or block tonight, marking just the fourth time this season he didn't have at least one of them in a game. He'd hit double figures in scoring in his previous three games and has been dynamite since returning from his knee injury, so don't be too discouraged by tonight's disappointing line. He'll bounce back. Rotoworld.com Today, 6:34 pm
  • C.J. Miles starting, Glenn Robinson to bench
C.J. Miles will start in place of Glenn Robinson III on Monday vs. the Knicks.

Advice: The Pacers have lost two straight games and coach Nate McMillan wants to shake things up. Miles has been held to single-digit points in his last four games, but maybe the move into the first unit will get him going. Put him on your radar if you need 3-pointers. Rotoworld.com Today, 4:23 pm
  • Kentavious Caldwell-Pope starting Monday
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (shoulder) is starting as expected on Monday vs. the Kings.

Advice: He made it through pre-game warmups just fine and there are no indications that he will be limited tonight. Season-long owners can activate KCP in lineups, but keep in mind that the Pistons only play twice in Week 14. Reggie Bullock will return to the bench and Stanley Johnson will lose most of his value as well. Rotoworld.com Today, 4:17 pm
  • Brian Roberts (illness) ruled out for Monday
Brian Roberts (illness) will not suit up for Monday's game against the Wizards.

Advice: Roberts rarely makes appearances in the rotation, so his absence from tonight's game will have a negligible impact in fantasy hoops. Rotoworld.com Today, 2:53 pm
  • Caldwell-Pope (shoulder) on track to play Mon
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (shoulder) is on track to play Monday vs. the Kings.

Advice: Stan Van Gundy gave him the probable tag, and he looked fine while going through his pregame routine (video below), so owners can go ahead and plan on having him active for tonight's game against the Kings. Reggie Bullock will head back to the bench with KCP active, and Stanely Johnson will lose some minutes. Check back for an official update closer to tip-off. Rotoworld.com Today, 2:33 pm
  • Avery Bradley (Achilles) ruled out for week
Avery Bradley (Achilles) will miss all four games this week.

Advice: This means the earliest we will see Bradley back in action is on Jan. 30 vs. the Pistons, but that's not a lock either. Bradley has been incredible all season with top-40 value in standard leagues, so his owners just need to stay afloat until he returns. Marcus Smart looks like a strong short-term add, but just keep in mind that he's shooting 36.0 percent from the field this season. Terry Rozier also gets a slight bump. Rotoworld.com Today, 9:54 am
    Injured

  • Caldwell-Pope (shoulder) probable for Monday
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (shoulder) is probable for Monday's game vs. the Kings.

Advice: He's expected to return from a four-game absence after making it though Sunday's practice. The Pistons only play twice in Week 14, so weekly owners may want to give him another week. For now, there's no word of any restrictions. With KCP expected back, Reggie Bullock and Stanley Johnson will lose most of their value. KCP is worth owning in all standard leagues as he posted averages of 14.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.2 triples prior to the injury. Rotoworld.com Today, 8:37 am
  • Spoelstra praises Goran Dragic
Heat coach Erik Spoelstra praised Goran Dragic for his strong play after Saturday's win over the Bucks.

Advice: "Goran has had a career year; this is not something that’s happening right now," Spoelstra said. "He’s been doing this all season. He’s such a conscientious teammate. We have all these moving parts and he’s trying to make sure everyone is comfortable. He knows he has to be aggressive for us and generate good looks." Dragic's name has been tossed around the rumor mill all season with the Heat looking to rebuild, but the Heat are only going to move him if they can get a considerable package in return -- the Heat have already turned down a offer of Nikola Vucevic and a future first-round pick from Orlando. Rotoworld.com Today, 6:36 am
  • Dion Waiters working on his finishing at rim
Dion Waiters said he's working on his ability to finish around the rim.

Advice: "Coaches told me to be aggressive, be me, do what I do best, get to the rack," Waiters said. "I get there with the best of them. It’s about me finishing when I get there. I work on it every day." That's arguably one of Waiters' biggest weaknesses, but he said Goran Dragic gave him some tips on how to improve including "being physical, lowering my shoulder." Tyler Johnson (shoulder) is questionable for Monday's game vs. the Warriors, so Waiters could be busy once again after scoring 33 points with three rebounds, three assists, one steal and five 3-pointers on Saturday vs. the Bucks. Rotoworld.com Today, 6:31 am
  • Seth Curry hits 6-of-8 shots for 14 points
Seth Curry went 6-of-8 from the field during Sunday's blowout win over the Lakers, on his way to 14 points, two boards, two 3-pointers, three assists, one steal and one turnover.

Advice: Curry had the hot hand early, and he didn't even miss his first shot until midway through the second quarter. The Mavs ended the first half with a season-high 29-point lead and finished the game with a season-best 49-point win (the third-largest victory in Mavs history). As for Curry, he's jumped into the mid-round equation over the past month, and he could be looking at a more active role in the offense if Wesley Matthews (hip) is forced to miss any time. He's worth owning in most leagues. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 3:25 pm
  • Stephen Curry drains seven triples in win
Stephen Curry was en fuego during the Warriors 118-98 blowout victory over the Magic, tallying 27 points, seven 3-pointers, four boards, six assists and three turnovers in 30 minutes of floor time.

Advice: Orlando had precisely zero answers for Curry in this one, as he regularly lit them up from beyond the arc (as per usual) and also showcased his elite passing and decision making abilities during the blowout win. He was the primary factor in Golden State going off for 42 points during the third quarter (their 11th time scoring at least 40 points in a quarter this season), and he may have had an even crazier game if it weren’t for the lopsided score. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 11:21 am
  • Caldwell-Pope goes through practice Sunday
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (shoulder) was able to practice on Sunday.

Advice: Coach Stan Van Gundy said he's unsure of KCP's status for Monday's game vs. the Kings, but it sounds like he's on the verge of returning from a four-game absence. If KCP is able to give it a go on Monday, both Stanley Johnson and Reggie Bullock will lose most of their value. KCP should be stashed in all standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:12 am
  • Shaun Livingston will rest on Sunday vs. ORL
Shaun Livingston will rest on Sunday vs. the Magic.

Advice: He's only playing 17.4 minutes per game this season, so this won't have a huge impact on the rotation. With Livingston out, Ian Clark gets a small bump off the bench and Andre Iguodala will run the offense a bit more than usual for the second unit. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:16 am
  • Alec Burks looks great vs. Pacers
Alec Burks scored 13 points with four rebounds, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer in 19 minutes against the Pacers on Saturday.

Advice: This was the Burks we were expecting after the Rodney Hood injury (knee) last weekend. He did run some of the second-unit offense and attacked like he has done throughout his career. Most fantasy owners can take a wait-and-see approach here. Joe Ingles has a strong grip on his role as the short-term starter, playing 33 minutes with two points, four rebounds, six assists and three steals. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 10:15 pm
  • Garrett Temple plays 30 minutes in loss
Garrett Temple scored eight points with three rebounds, three assists, one block, two steals and one 3-pointer on Saturday against the Bulls.

Advice: He is averaging 30.2 minutes, 8.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game in his last five. With Rudy Gay (Achilles) out for the season, Temple should continue to see consistent minutes and is worth adding off of waivers in many leagues. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 9:03 pm
  • Malcolm Brogdon plays 30 minutes off bench
Malcolm Brogdon moved to the bench against the Heat on Saturday, scoring four points with two rebounds, two assists and one steal in 30 minutes.

Advice: The minutes are the good news. The bad news is that he hit just 1-of-10 shots, which has been an issue for Brogdon lately after being one of the best catch-and-shoot players in 2016. Coach Jason Kidd said he wanted to play Brogdon next to Monroe and he certainly did with 14 of Monroe's 17 minutes coming next to the rookie. Brogdon's owner should not worry too much here. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 8:31 pm
  • James Harden double-doubles vs. Memphis
James Harden scored 29 points with 10 assists, six rebounds, three steals, two blocks and four 3-pointers in Saturday’s 119-95 victory over the Grizzlies.

Advice: This was his best game against Memphis this year, as he recorded his 38th double-double of the season. He will have a day of rest before playing against the Bucks on Monday, a team he scored 38 points with six rebounds and eight assists against in their last meeting. It should be business as usual for the Beard in that matchup. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 8:28 pm
  • Kent Bazemore scored 16 points in win
Kent Bazemore scored 16 points with two rebounds, two assists, one steal and two 3-pointers during a win over the the 76ers on Saturday.

Advice: If fantasy hoops had an all-tease team, Bazemore would probably be on it this season. He had just two points on Friday just after he was showing some promise. Bazemore minutes have been trending up a little, but he's still not around the 28 he was seeing at about the quarter pole of the season with just 24 minutes per game this month. He's worth owning based on last year and how he's been better, but it's been a bumpy ride. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 8:22 pm
  • Courtney Lee scores 13 points in loss to Suns
Courtney Lee started and played 37 minutes in Saturday's loss to the Suns, finishing with 13 points, four rebounds, three assists, a block and three 3-pointers on 5-of-9 shooting.

Advice: Lee came in averaging 30-plus minutes in January, but hadn't scored more than nine points in his previous eight games. He might get hot and start scoring in double figures regularly, but for now, this looks like nothing more than a decent game against inferior defense. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 8:02 pm
  • Dion Waiters scores season-high 33 points
Dion Waiters hit 12-of-19 shots for a season-high 33 points with three rebounds, three assists, one steal and five 3-pointers in Saturday's 109-97 win against the Bucks.

Advice: As expected, coach Erik Spoelstra used the old C.J. McCollum rotation move for Waiters, giving him 100 percent of the backup point guard minutes tonight. Tyler Johnson (shoulder) is day-to-day with his surgically-repaired shoulder from last year, so he could miss time despite being day-to-day. Waiters should have value in that time, so he's worth a pickup for owners seeing good short-term output and some top-150 kind of numbers once Johnson is back. Josh Richardson (foot) would hurt him too. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 7:14 pm
  • Matthew Dellavedova scores 15 points in loss
Matthew Dellavedova hit 5-of-8 shots for 15 points, seven assists, two rebounds and two 3-pointers in 36 minutes on Saturday against the Heat.

Advice: The move into the starting lineup helped the slumping Dellavedova, who scored more than 10 points for the first time since Dec. 28. Although this was refreshing to see, fantasy owners can leave him on waivers, as he does not produce like he did tonight on a consistent basis. However, if he sticks in the starting unit over Malcolm Brogdon, he's at least worth putting on your watch list in case he starts playing like this on the regular. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 7:07 pm
  • Isaiah Whitehead scores three points
Isaiah Whitehead scored three points with three rebounds, four assists and one 3-pointer in 23 minutes against the Hornets on Saturday.

Advice: Sure, this line is nothing to write home about, but Whitehead has been very solid. He's not making nearly as many mistakes on both ends and surprising only has just 0.7 turnovers in his last three games. Although, he doesn't have anywhere close to the same ball-handling responsibility as he did when he was a turnover machine earlier year. With Spencer Dinwiddie in a slump, we may see Whitehead get into the upper 20s. All that said, he doesn't really have the upside for ownership in most leagues. Jeremy Lin (hamstring) still isn't practicing yet, by the way. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 6:43 pm
  • Courtney Lee to start, Ron Baker to bench
Courtney Lee will start and Ron Baker will come off the bench against the Suns on Saturday.

Advice: After Lee's 'Dumb and Dumber' saga, he's back in the starting lineup. He should play with an extra edge and has a great matchup, so he could hit the ground running. We still wouldn't use Lee in most cases. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 4:07 pm
  • Dion Waiters sticking in the starting unit
Dion Waiters will stick in the starting lineup against the Bucks on Saturday.

Advice: This is somewhat interesting with Tyler Johnson (shoulder) out. With Goran Dragic as really the only ball-handler, we will probably see Waiters be used in a C.J. McCollum-esque role. In other words, he'll likely be staggered from Goran Dragic to make him the backup one to go with his starting two duties. He should be busy tonight and gains value while Johnson is out. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 3:56 pm
  • Malcolm Brogdon to the bench
Malcom Brogdon will come off the bench against the Heat on Saturday.

Advice: Besides wanting to get Matt Dellavedova going, coach Jason Kidd likes the idea of keeping Brogdon with Greg Monroe -- that's actually a very valid point. Brogdon owners shouldn't worry too much here because he was playing well off the bench before he was put into the starting lineup. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 3:24 pm
  • Matt Dellavedova starting, Brogdon to bench
Matt Dellavedova will start and Malcolm Brogdon will come off the bench against the Heat on Saturday.

Advice: This is designed to get Dellavedova going and get out of a slump, according to coach Jason Kidd. It could be a one-time thing for Delly and he wasn't playing well even when he was a starter before the injury, so leave him on the wire for now. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 3:22 pm
  • Avery Bradley likely out for upcoming week
Avery Bradley (Achilles) is likely out for the upcoming week.

Advice: It makes a lot of sense for Boston. If you've seen what happened to J.J. Barea (calf, Achilles) and Kristaps Porzingis with their multiple stints off due to Achilles/lower-calf issues, the Celtics clearly want to get Bradley back and keep him back. While he's out, we'll get Marcus Smart in the starting lineup while Terry Rozier gets some combo guard minutes. Jaylen Brown would also be in the rotation. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 12:28 pm

  • Caldwell-Pope (shoulder) ruled out Saturday
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (shoulder) has been ruled out of Saturday's game vs. the Wizards.

Advice: This will be the fourth straight game KCP has missed. Reggie Bullock started in place of Caldwell-Pope in the Pistons previous game on Wednesday and posted a solid line (15 points, six rebounds four assists and two 3-pointers) while playing a game-high 36 minutes. Bullock will likely draw another start on Saturday. Stanley Johnson played 32 minutes off the Detroit bench on Wednesday, but will likely lose playing time to Jon Leuer (knee), who is expected to return to the team after a five-game absence. • Goran Dragic would prefer to stay in Miami
Despite swirling trade rumors, Goran Dragic has reiterated his desire is to stay put in Miami.

Advice: "If I'm honest," Dragic said, "I feel even better [in Miami] than in Phoenix. I like all my teammates. I feel like I'm in the right spot. My head is clear and I'm working hard to be a better player, a better teammate." Well, If it makes you feel any better Goran, fantasy owners are hoping you stay in Miami as well. Dragic is such a huge part of everything the Heat do on offense, that it's almost impossible to imagine him being traded to a more fantasy-friendly situation. Nonetheless, moving Dragic for a package of picks and younger players might be what's best for Miami longterm. Stay tuned... Rotoworld.com Saturday, 6:37 am
  • Alec Burks gets just 12 minutes
Alec Burks played 12 minutes against the Mavs on Friday with seven points, two rebounds and one 3-pointer.

Advice: He actually got some run at point guard tonight, but clearly the Jazz aren't ready up Burks' minutes so soon with the team playing well. If you haven't dropped him yet, we'll let you know if he pops back up. It does help that the Jazz seem pretty clueless on their backup point guard right now. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 12:18 am
  • Gordon Hayward hurts hand, scores 26
Gordon Hayward scored 26 points with seven rebounds, four assists, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers in 38 minutes against the Mavs on Friday.

Advice: He did hurt his hand and the team had to call timeout to stop the game because he was in so much pain. Hayward looked fine after that, but he sure does have a lot of hand injuries this year. Hayward has been wonderful since returning from a hand injury to start the year, posting third-round value per game on the season. He also ran the offense tonight in a no-PG lineup for eight minutes. Rotoworld.com Friday, 11:50 pm
  • Kent Bazemore scores just two points
Kent Bazemore scored two points with two rebounds, three assists and one steal in 19 minutes against the Bulls on Friday.

Advice: This was all about garbage time for Bazemore, who was actually playing well coming into this game. He's still only clinging to standard-league value in this recent uptick over his last nine, so he's still got some work to do for owners in standard leagues to feel confident in holding him. Rotoworld.com Friday, 11:06 pm
  • Tim Hardaway Jr. gets 21 minutes
Tim Hardaway Jr. scored nine points with three rebounds, three assists and three steals against the Bulls on Friday.

Advice: That's two bad games in a row from the offensive side of things, but at least Hardaway Jr. brought it with some defensive output. He is slightly losing his grip as an asset in standard leagues, but we would still hold him for now unless it's for an irresistible free agent. Rotoworld.com Friday, 11:02 pm
  • Stephen Curry scores 24 points
Stephen Curry scored 24 points against the Rockets on Friday with one rebound, seven assists, one steal and five 3-pointers in 33 minutes.

Advice: The Warriors continue to get him more touches as the facilitator of the offense. Curry's disappointing December by his standards is way behind him and he can chalk it up to the X's and O's of the offense. Not that any Curry owner should've been worried, but he's back to being that team-carrying guy. Rotoworld.com Friday, 10:20 pm
  • James Harden struggles in loss to Warriors
James Harden scored 17 points with seven rebounds, 11 assists, one steal and seven turnovers against the Warriors during a 125-108 loss on Friday.

Advice: It was a game to forget. The Warriors ability to switch so well really kept Harden in check to limit his open looks. Plus, Harden said the Rockets really missed Ryan Anderson (illness) tonight to help space the floor. Harden gets another bad matchup on Saturday in Memphis, but he's as matchup proof as it gets. Rotoworld.com Friday, 10:08 pm
  • Tyreke Evans scores eight points in loss
Tyreke Evans scored just eight points with four rebounds, no assists, two steals and one turnover in 13 minutes during a 143-114 blowout loss to the Nets on Friday.

Advice: The last time we saw Evans play the Nets, he busted out for 29 points. Of course, that was because he was on fire and Anthony Davis was out. He's going to be off for a couple days, so we'll see if he gets an increase on his minutes. Rotoworld.com Friday, 9:45 pm
  • Garrett Temple scores 14 points in start
Garrett Temple started on Friday vs. the Grizzlies and scored 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting in 33 minutes.

Advice: He was the only starter to eclipse 30 minutes in the blowout, so it's safe to say that the workload will be there with Rudy Gay (Achilles) out for the season. Temple added three rebounds, three assists, one steal, two blocks and two triples and was averaging 11.4 points, 3.1 assists, 3.0 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 2.1 treys in seven previous starts this season, so pick him up if those stats fit your team well. Rotoworld.com Friday, 8:51 pm
  • Matt Barnes plays 18 minutes in loss
Matt Barnes played just 18 minutes vs. the Grizzlies on Friday with eight points on 3-of-9 shooting.

Advice: He didn't make the most of this "revenge game" opportunity with just two assists, one rebound and one triple in 18 minutes. We're still expecting his minutes to trend up with Rudy Gay (Achilles) out for the season, but he's not an exciting add by any means. Garrett Temple had 14 points in 33 minutes and looks like the better add right now. Rotoworld.com Friday, 8:32 pm
  • Malcolm Brogdon scores 16 points
Malcolm Brogdon scored 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting vs. the Magic on Friday.

Advice: He was held to seven points in Wednesday's loss to the Rockets, but the matchup was a lot better tonight. Brogdon hit a career-high four triples in the loss with five assists, two rebounds and one steal, and he was third on the team in minutes played with 35. Brogdon's usage rate could take a hit with Khris Middleton (hamstring) rumored to be near a return, but his owners shouldn't be concerned. He's been the second best rookie in fantasy right behind The Process. Rotoworld.com Friday, 7:05 pm
  • Garrett Temple starting vs. the Grizzlies
Garrett Temple is starting vs. the Grizzlies on Friday.

Advice: Rudy Gay (Achilles) is out for the season and Temple and Matt Barnes will likely see the biggest bump in minutes. Temple doesn't have great upside, but he did put up averages of 11.4 points, 3.1 assists, 3.0 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 2.1 treys in seven previous starts this season. Give him a look if has a strong game tonight. Rotoworld.com Friday, 4:58 pm
  • Heat don't want to deal Dragic?
The Magic reportedly offered Nikola Vucevic and a future first-round pick for Goran Dragic, but the Heat had "no interest," according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

Advice: Even if this future first is for 2019 or beyond, the Heat currently are sitting in the No. 2 spot for the lottery, so picking up a draft selection makes at least some sense. For Dragic, he has maintained he wants to stay in Miami, but it'll obviously be up to Pat Riley to make the call on whether or not he can retain him. Stein adds the Heat are "hesitant" to deal their point guard, which isn't surprising to hear to keep the demand higher in the market. A trade would almost certainly hurt Dragic's fantasy value, so his fantasy owners will be rooting for him to stay put. Rotoworld.com Friday, 11:46 am
  • KCP (shoulder) 'very limited' in practice Fri
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (shoulder) was "very limited" in the Pistons practice on Friday.

Advice: Caldwell-Pope has missed three straight games, and although it was "very limited," it's somewhat encouraging that KCP practiced at all and is headed in the right direction. Nonetheless, he appears questionable (at best) for Saturday's game vs. the Wizards. If KCP can't play, expect Reggie Bullock and Stanley Johnson to once again soak up his minutes. Rotoworld.com Friday, 10:24 am
  • Avery Bradley (Achilles) ruled out Saturday
Avery Bradley (Achilles) will not play Saturday vs. Portland.

Advice: According to coach Brad Stevens: "The Achilles is structurally fine, but he has a lot of soreness around it." This will be the second straight game Bradley has missed, and the sixth in the last seven. Returning for Monday's game earlier this week has led to the setback. "Maybe he came back too soon," Stevens said on Wednesday. After Saturday, Boston's next game is Tuesday at Washington. Marcus Smart will likely remain the starter in place of Bradley. Terry Rozier and Jaylen Brown will see an additional minutes as well. Rotoworld.com Friday, 9:49 am
    Injured

  • Avery Bradley (Achilles) doutbful Saturday
Avery Bradley (Achilles) will likely miss Saturday's game vs. the Blazers, according to coach Brad Stevens.

Advice: The writing was on the wall here, as Stevens cautioned that Bradley could be looking at additional missed games when speaking with the media on Wednesday. Bradley has missed five of the Celtics last six contests. Marcus Smart is expected to start, with Terry Rozier and Jaylen Brown seeing an uptick in minutes off the Boston bench. Smart has struggled with his shot recently, averaging 6.0 points while shooting a frigid 20.0 percent from the floor and 8.3 percent from 3-point territory over Boston's last four games. • Goran Dragic scores team-high 32 points
Goran Dragic hit 11-of-15 shots for a team-high 32 points with six rebounds, two assists and four 3-pointers in Thursday’s 99-95 win over the Mavericks.

Advice: Dragic scored 22 points in the second half and sealed the game with two clutch free throws. He continues to have a solid month, averaging over 20 points per game in January. So long as he remains in Miami, he will produce nice numbers for fantasy owners. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 8:01 pm
  • West All-Star starters named on Thursday
Stephen Curry, James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant and Anthony Davis were named as the Western Conference All-Star starters.

Advice: That's right. Russell Westbrook is averaging a triple-double and he's not going to be starting the All-Star Game. Westbrook is also on pace for the record for usage rate and is second in the NBA in assists per game. Curry got a bump to get the nod over Westy due to the fan voting, but he's certainly playing like an All-Star. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 4:14 pm
  • Victor Oladipo scores 20 pts w/ four steals
Victor Oladipo bounced back on Wednesday with 20 points, three rebounds, two assists, four steals and one block during a 121-100 loss in Oracle Arena on Wednesday.

Advice: The Thunder were pummeled by the Clippers on Monday, which limited VO to 24 minutes, a fluky game that should be dismissed for evaluation purposes. The best sign for fantasy owners is that Oladipo's four steals tonight were a season high -- he has eight in his past three games, a trend that could significantly boost his overall fantasy appeal. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 10:31 pm
  • Garrett Temple drops nine points in 29 mins
Garrett Temple played 29 minutes off the bench against the Pacers on Wednesday with nine points, four rebounds, three assists and one 3-pointer.

Advice: He should be getting a big bump in usage and playing time with Rudy Gay (Achilles). In the previous stretch Gay missed 10 of 11 games, Temple averaged 10.2 points, 3.4 boards, 3.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.5 treys on 42.4 percent from the field and 89.5 percent from the line. That was good for eighth-round value, so he is worth a look in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 10:15 pm
  • Matt Barnes scores seven points in loss
Matt Barnes scored seven points with four rebounds, four assists and one 3-pointer in 20 minutes against the Pacers on Wednesday.

Advice: He's looking at a major bump in playing time. In the window when Rudy Gay (Achilles) missed the second half of December and early January, Barnes averaged 8.7 points, 4.7 boards, 2.6 assists, 0.5 steals, 0.3 blocks and 1.6 treys. That wasn't worth using in standard leagues at that time, so he's more of a borderline add for owners looking for something new. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 10:11 pm
  • James Harden scores 38 points in victory
James Harden put on an offensive clinic during a 111-92 win over the Bucks on Wednesday, scoring 38 points with six rebounds, eight assists, two blocks and four 3-pointers in 37 minutes.

Advice: If you didn't see this game, you missed a great one with Harden and Giannis Antetokounmpo going off. Antetokounmpo gave Harden some props after the game. "I think I can say right now he is the best player in the league," Giannis said. Harden has been surging over his last seven, averaging 34.3 points, 9.0 boards, 10.1 assists, 1.0 steals, 1.0 blocks and 3.9 treys on 63.2 true shooting percentage. This game also moved him past Anthony Davis for No. 2 on the points per game leader board this season. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 9:17 pm
  • Tim Hardaway Jr. gets 10 pts w/ nothing else
Tim Hardaway Jr. came off the bench on Wednesday with 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting, two 3-pointers, one rebound, and no other stats in 19 minutes of action.

Advice: He started for the Hawks on Monday, but that was only because Dwight Howard was being rested. THJ has been great this month, averaging 16.9 points and 2.9 triples on 54.2 percent shooting. He's worth deploying until he cools off, but be aware that he offers little beyond the scoring stats. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 9:06 pm
  • Tyreke Evans fills it up in just 20 minutes
Tyreke Evans made the most of his 20 minutes vs. the Magic on Wednesday, scoring 18 points with five assists, four rebounds, three steals and four 3-pointers.

Advice: New Orleans' offense ran wild tonight and Evans looked great once again -- over the past five games he's now averaging 17.0 points on 50.0 percent FGs and 92.9 percent FTs, 1.6 triples, 3.2 boards, 4.4 assists and 2.0 steals. He said he's "getting used to [a bench role], just coming off, being aggressive," and he needs to be in your active lineups in light of his recent success. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 9:04 pm
  • Courtney Lee gets 9/8/7 in win vs. Celtics
Courtney Lee handed out a season-high seven assists in 38 bench minutes vs. the Celtics on Wednesday, adding nine points and eight rebounds in a convincing road win.

Advice: C-Lee added one 3-pointer and one block to round out his line. He will have the ball in his hands more often with the second unit, but it's hard to see him approaching this many minutes routinely - Ron Baker was in foul trouble all game long. Leave C-Lee on the wire unless he can duplicate this performance a few times. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 8:27 pm
  • Matthew Dellavedova plays 17 minutes
Matthew Dellavedova scored five points with two assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 17 minutes against the Rockets on Wednesday.

Advice: The Bucks are playing him next to Malcolm Brogdon at times this season, but clearly the rookie has earned the lion's share of the minutes at point guard. Dellavedova isn't worth owning in most leagues right now. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 8:17 pm
  • Malcolm Brogdon scores seven points
Malcolm Brogdon scored seven points with eight rebounds, eight assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 35 minutes against the Rockets on Wednesday.

Advice: He had to go up against Pat Beverley a lot tonight, but he's slightly cooled off since Matt Dellavedova played 20 minutes for the first time in 2017. In those five, Brogdon averaged 12.0 points, 4.4 boards, 5.0 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.6 treys on 42.0 percent from the field. That's still more than serviceable for his owners, so keep him rolling in all standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 8:04 pm
  • Marco Belinelli scores 13 pts on 5-of-8 FGs
Marco Belinelli made 5-of-8 shots on Wednesday with one 3-pointer, finishing with 13 points, five boards, three assists and one steal.

Advice: Belinelli came in shooting an abysmal 28.3 percent in January. He missed five games in late December and early January, and coach Steve Clifford suggested that he was still struggling because he's "such a rhythm player." He finally gained some traction tonight, but isn't really worth owning unless you need 3-pointers in a deep league. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 8:00 pm
  • Nicolas Batum notches 17/7/7 in win vs. POR
The Hornets snapped their five-game losing streak on Wednesday, aided by Nicolas Batum's 17 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and one 3-pointer in 34 minutes.

Advice: Batum leads the Hornets with 7.4 rebounds per game, and he's also posting career-best numbers in scoring (15.0 points per game) and assists (5.8). He's flirting with second-round value over the past month, despite a recent shooting slump, and he's a good bet to finish in the top-50 for roto. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 7:59 pm
  • Avery Bradley could miss more time
Avery Bradley (Achilles) could miss more time, according to coach Brad Stevens.

Advice: "Maybe he came back too soon," Stevens said. The Celtics are usually very careful with their hurt players, so it sounds like Bradley could be looking at multiple games out of the lineup due to his sore Achilles. Until he can return, we'll see more Marcus Smart in the starting lineup while Terry Rozier and Jaylen Brown should get minutes. Smart should be owned in most leagues while Rozier is worth a look in deeper leagues. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 7:08 pm
    Injured

  • Tim Hardaway Jr. will come off the bench Weds
Tim Hardaway Jr. will come off the bench Wednesday vs. the Pistons.

Advice: The Hawks will roll out a starting five featuring Dennis Schroder, Thabo Sefolosha, Kent Bazemore, Paul Millsap and Dwight Howard (rest), but Hardaway should still be able to flirt with minutes in the 30s regardless of how he enters the game. He's been averaging 16.9 points and 2.9 triples per contest through the month of January, so he's worth owning while he's this hot. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 4:47 pm
  • Avery Bradley (Achilles) will not play vs. NY
Avery Bradley (Achilles) will not play against the Knicks on Wednesday.

Advice: He returned to action on Monday, but the Celtics will hold him out. Presumably, this is more of a precaution than anything with the Celtics not on a back-to-back set. With him out, Marcus Smart figures to get the start while Terry Rozier, Gerald Green and Jaylen Brown could play more. Bradley was off to a fantastic start this season, but it may take him some time to get right with this nagging injury. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 4:16 pm
    Injured

  • Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (shoulder) out Weds
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (shoulder) will not play Wednesday vs. the Hawks.

Advice: This will be KCP's third straight game on the sidelines, and it's currently unclear exactly when he'll be able to get back to the court. Reggie Bullock started in Caldwell-Popes' place on Sunday, but Stanley Johnson produced the better stat line in 34 minutes off the bench. Jon Leuer (knee) went through shootaround and he could be back on the court tonight, and his return could cut into Johnson's minutes. For now, we'll consider Caldwell-Pope questionable for Saturday's game vs. the Wizards. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 9:08 am
  • Kentavious Caldwell-Pope questionable vs. ATL
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (left shoulder) is questionable to play Wednesday vs. Atlanta.

Advice: KCP wasn't able to practice on Tuesday, so he feels a lot closer to doubtful for tonight's game. Reggie Bullock got the call to enter the starting five on Sunday with Caldwell-Pope on the sidelines, but he didn't do much in 29 minutes of action, while Stanley Johnson produced a nice low-end line in 34 minutes off the bench. If KCP is out again, Johnson and Bullock will continue to split his minutes, with Johnson being the more attractive target. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 7:21 am
  • Dion Waiters hits 7-of15 shots for 17 points
Dion Waiters made another start on Tuesday and hit 7-of-15 shots and a 3-pointer for 17 points, five rebounds, three assists and a steal in a win over the Heat.

Advice: Waiters has been in an ugly shooting slump and missed some layups tonight, but looked much better than he has over his previous four games, when he hit just 15-of-53 shots. He's locked and loaded at shooting guard with Josh Richardson out for the next couple weeks, making him a hot pickup in fantasyland. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 7:19 pm
  • Goran Dragic flirts with triple-double in win
Goran Dragic hit 8-of-15 shots and a 3-pointer for 21 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, a steal and six turnovers in Tuesday's 109-103 win over the Rockets.

Advice: The six turnovers were weird and matched James Harden's output in that category, but the rest of his game was stellar, as usual. As long as Dragic isn't traded, he should continue to rack up gaudy stats for the Heat. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 7:17 pm
  • Caldwell-Pope (shoulder) misses practice Tues
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (shoulder) was unable to practice on Tuesday.

Advice: KCP has been diagnosed with a Grade-2 left rotator cuff strain. He is expected to be listed as questionable for Sunday when the Pistons release their game notes. Stanley Johnson has seen a big boost in playing time with Caldwell-Pope on the shelf. Johnson is averaging 9.0 points, 3.0 assists and 2.0 rebounds in 32.6 minutes over the Pistons last three games. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 9:49 am
  • Courtney Lee unsure if he will come off bench
Courtney Lee is unsure if he will continue to come off the bench or return to the Knicks starting lineup.

Advice: "[Coach Jeff Hornacek] said it might just be for this game [Monday], it might be for a couple games. He was just saying we need to change something around," Lee said after the Knicks lost to the Hawks on Monday afternoon. Lee played just 21 minutes and was benched the entire fourth quarter. He is averaging only 6.5 points and shooting just 19 percent from 3-point territory over his last six games. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 7:03 am
  • Alec Burks fizzles in nine minutes
Alec Burks played just nine minutes and missed all four of his shots, failing to score a point in Monday's 106-101 win over the Suns.

Advice: Joe Ingles started for Rodney Hood (knee) and played well, and Joe Johnson was Joe Cool off the bench with 15 points and three 3-pointers, so Burks looks like the big loser in the Hood-injury sweepstakes. If you picked up Burks in hopes of a decent week, we'd recommend throwing him back and taking a flier on Ingles or Johnson, instead. Rotoworld.com Jan 16, 9:16 pm
  • Stephen Curry hands out 11 assists in win
Stephen Curry scored 20 points and matched his season high with 11 assists in Monday's win over the Cavaliers.

Advice: Curry was quiet when these two teams met on Christmas day, but he looked much more comfortable out there this time. He finished 7-of-20 from the field and 5-of-12 from beyond the arc, adding two rebounds and four steals in 31 minutes. Curry has been a new player since the turn of the year and was averaging 29.2 points, 6.2 assists and 4.2 3-pointers in his previous six January games. This is the Curry fantasy owners spent a top-3 pick on. Rotoworld.com Jan 16, 7:55 pm
  • Avery Bradley back in action on Monday
Avery Bradley returned from a three-game absence with an Achilles injury on Monday and hit 2-of-9 shots for five points, three rebounds, three assists, two steals and a 3-pointer in 33 minutes.

Advice: Bradley was playing at an incredible level when he exited three games ago and showed some rust tonight. But the minutes were encouraging and he should be put back in fantasy lineups across the board. His five points were a season-low, but he should get back on track soon, as he only missed three games with the injury. Rotoworld.com Jan 16, 7:31 pm

  • Nicolas Batum just misses trip-dub in loss
Nicolas Batum had eight points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, a steal and two blocks on 2-of-11 shooting in Monday's MLK Day 108-98 loss to the Celtics.

Advice: Batum has been back for two games since returning from a knee injury and is averaging 13.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 6.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks in them. He hit 7-of-14 shots on Friday, but never got it going offensively tonight, missing 9-of-11 shots and costing himself a triple-double. He's a must-start in fantasy as long as he's playing for the Hornets. Teammate Kemba Walker had the same issue, hitting just 8-of-21 shots for 24 points, two assists and three 3-pointers. Rotoworld.com Jan 16, 6:52 pm
  • Tyreke Evans scores 12 points in loss
Tyreke Evans scored 12 points on 5-of-13 shooting in Monday's loss to the Pacers.

Advice: Evans appeared to bang his surgically-repaired left knee on the floor after a layup attempt and he was seen rubbing it, but he was able to carry on and didn't appear to be limited. Evans' owners are going to freak out whenever they hear about his left knee, but it sounds like he escaped with just a bruise. He added five rebounds, four assists and two steals in 23 minutes, and he could be looking at a larger role if Anthony Davis (back) is forced to miss any time -- the last time Davis missed a game, Evans went off for a season-high 29 points with four rebounds, three assists, four steals, one block and two 3-pointers. Rotoworld.com Jan 16, 4:30 pm
  • Avery Bradley starting, Smart to the bench
Avery Bradley (Achilles) will start Monday vs. the Hornets, sending Marcus Smart back to the bench.

Advice: He'll be returning from a four-game stint on the sidelines, and there's no word of any sort of minutes limit, so his owners can feel free to get him active. Smart's value will take a decent sized hit with the return to the bench, and Isaiah Thomas' usage rate will take a slight hit.Daily Slant: The Celtics guards - namely Isaiah Thomas and Marcus Smart - have been very popular DFS targets in the time that Bradley has missed, but his presence leads to them both becoming less intriguing. Instead, this may be a good night to look to the Boston front-court. Al Horford will face off with a Charlotte defense that ranks 26th against centers, and while Kelly Olynyk will play, Horford is in a nice spot from a GPP perspective at a thin center position. DeAndre Jordan is still the safer cash game play. Rotoworld.com Jan 16, 3:01 pm

  • Avery Bradley (Achilles) probable for Monday
Avery Bradley (Achilles) is probable to play Monday vs. the Hornets.

Advice: Bradley was a full participant during Sunday's practice, and was active at shootaround, so all signs are pointing to him returning from a four-game absence tonight. With Bradley back in the lineup, Marcus Smart will return to the bench and Isaiah Thomas won't be quite as active on offense. Rotoworld.com Jan 16, 2:35 pm

  • Kent Bazemore may be heating up again
Kent Bazemore kept it going during a win over the Knicks on Monday, scoring 16 points with six rebounds, five assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 32 minutes.

Advice: He didn't shoot the ball well, making just 5-of-13 from the field. Bazemore is playing with more confidence these days and had a big 24-point effort on Sunday. Theoretically, he should have seen a bump in productivity with Kyle Korver gone and it wasn't happening until recently. Maybe now he gets it going, so go ahead and pick him up after his breakout 2015-16 season. Rotoworld.com Jan 16, 1:38 pm
  • Tim Hardaway Jr. scores 20 points vs. NY
Tim Hardaway scored 20 points in a start against the Knicks on Monday, adding three rebounds, four assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 35 minutes.

Advice: Revenge game? Hardaway Jr.'s team got a big win at MSG to make them 9-1 in their last 10. Even though he may not start going forward, Hardaway Jr. has been terrific since the Kyle Korver trade. While he may be traded as a restricted free agent this summer, he has to be owned in standard leagues with his recent play. Rotoworld.com Jan 16, 1:22 pm
  • Courtney Lee scores seven off bench
Courtney Lee scored seven points off the bench with two rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer against the Hawks on Monday.

Advice: After the game, Lee said he found out he was benched just before the game. In a halftime interview, Carmelo Anthony said Lee handled the benching like a pro and also made it seem like it was more of an experiment. Lee has also really fallen off as a shooter lately, making just 2-of-15 from deep in his last four -- he was leading the NBA in 3-point percentage last month. Lee is only a 16-team guy for now. Rotoworld.com Jan 16, 12:33 pm
  • Revenge: Tim Hardaway Jr. will start vs. NYK
Tim Hardaway Jr. will move into the starting lineup for Monday's game vs. the Knicks.

Advice: Revenge game! Dwight Howard is resting, so the Hawks are going to go small with Paul Millsap at center. THJ was already trending up before this news with averages of 16.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 3.0 triples per game in January, so give him a look if those numbers mesh well with your fantasy team. Rotoworld.com Jan 16, 9:50 am
  • Courtney Lee will come off the bench
Courtney Lee will come off the bench on Monday vs. Atlanta.

Advice: The Knicks have been shredded on defense all season, so they're going to take their best wing defender out of the lineup. Sounds about right. Lee was a low-end asset to own before this news, so feel free to drop him for a hot free agent. With that said, he should still see a healthy dose of minutes Monday. Rotoworld.com Jan 16, 9:27 am
  • Isaiah Whitehead returned to action on Sunday January 15. Rotoworld.com Jan 16, 12:19 am
  • Victor Oladipo scores 23 points in win
Victor Oladipo hit 7-of-14 shots for 23 points with two assists, one rebounds, two steals, two blocks and one 3-pointer in 39 minutes on Sunday vs. the Kings.

Advice: This marked the first time he has a 20-point game since Nov. 30. However, Oladipo is having a nice month, averaging 34.3 minutes, 17.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.3 treys per game in January. He's becoming more consistent as the season progresses, which is a good sign for fantasy owners. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 10:02 pm
  • Isaiah Whitehead (knee) returns, plays 15 min
Isaiah Whitehead (knee) returned from a one-game absence on Sunday with six points, four assists, three rebounds and one 3-pointer in 15 minutes vs. the Rockets.

Advice: Whitehead came off the bench behind Spencer Dinwiddie, who chipped in eight dimes in 24 minutes as a starter. Jeremy Lin (hamstring) has been sidelined for most of the season and his return date is still something of a mystery, but it's hard to trust either Whitehead or Dinwiddie while they're pitched in a position battle. • James Harden gets 12th triple-double Sunday
James Harden posted another triple-double on Sunday, his 12th of the season, with 22 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists, four 3-pointers, one steal and one block.

Advice: The Rockets scored 74 points in the first half, matching a season-high, and they finished with 137 points in a high-scoring rout in Brooklyn. Harden trails Russell Westbrook's 19 triple-doubles, but he leads the league with 35 double-doubles. Any way you slice it, he's been amazing in both reality and fantasy. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 6:08 pm
  • Kent Bazemore scores team-high 24 points
Kent Bazemore scored a team-high 24 points in 28 minutes during Sunday's home win, making 8-of-13 FGs and 4-of-5 FTs with two rebounds, two steals and one assist.

Advice: Four of Bazemore's makes came from downtown and this is the first time he's scored 20 points since Nov. 30, so it was a welcome if wholly unexpected outburst. His shot has been awful all season, at a career-low 36.5 percent, and we'll need to see him sustain some efficiency before fully buying in. That said, Bazemore has enough proven upside to be worth a look if you need a swingman. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 4:53 pm
  • Malcolm Brogdon gets zero boards or assists
Malcolm Brogdon didn't have any rebounds or assists in 26 minutes on Sunday, though he did score 12 points with two 3-pointers, two steals and one block.

Advice: The Bucks' rookie had at least five dimes in his previous seven games, but tonight his playmaking duties were overtaken by Giannis Antetokounmpo (six assists) and Jabari Parker (nine assists). Brogdon has been a textbook waiver-wire steal this season, and owners should just shrug this one off. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 4:52 pm
  • Justin Holiday scores 17 points off the bench
Justin Holiday scored 17 points on 5-of-8 shooting Sunday, to go with three 3-pointers, three boards, one assist, one steal and one turnover in 26 minutes off the bench.

Advice: Holiday also went 4-of-5 from the charity stripe, giving him a sterling true shooting percentage of 83.3 on the evening. The blowout nature of the game, partnered with Lance Thomas (orbital fracture) going down early with an injury helped Holiday get some extended minutes, and it'll be interesting to see if he can keep his momentum going into Monday's matchup with the Hawks. This is a wait-and-see situation in most leagues. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 3:22 pm
  • Isaiah Whitehead (knee) available to play
Isaiah Whitehead (knee) will be available to play Sunday vs. the Rockets.

Advice: He could start, which would send Spencer Dinwiddie back to the bench, but even as a starter Whitehead isn't worth a roster spot in almost any setting. Dinwiddie is also a non-option in most leagues regardless of how he enters the game. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 12:45 pm
  • Avery Bradley (Achilles) on track to play Mon
Avery Bradley (Achilles) was a full participant during Sunday's practice, and barring a setback he should be able to return to action Monday vs. the Hornets.

Advice: Bradley has spent the past four games on the sidelines, but it's looking like owners can plan on having him back in their lineups next week. With Bradley back, Marcus Smart will return to the bench, and Isaiah Thomas won't be quite as busy on the offensive end. Check back for another update following Monday morning's shootaround. • Stephen Curry intends to re-sign with GSW
Stephen Curry made it clear once again that he will re-sign with the Warriors this summer.

Advice: "I can’t," Curry said when asked if he could see himself leaving the Warriors as a free agent. "Like I’ve said from Day 1 when I was first asked about free agency, this is a perfect place to play. Bay Area fans are amazing, our organization’s amazing, we’ve put together an amazing team that’s competing for championships every year." Under the new CBA, the Warriors could potentially offer Curry a five-year extension worth about $209 million, while opposing teams would only be able to offer a four-year deal worth about $133 million. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 6:52 am
  • Alec Burks will be in the rotation
Alec Burks said he's close to 100 percent after his eight-point game in 15 minutes on Saturday.

Advice: He said he's been waiting for this for "like a year" and he said he knew he was ready to play. Burks acknowledged he had a serious injury and he's still improving. He said he wanted to get to the rim more and he plans on doing that more as he gets more comfortable. With Rodney Hood (knee) possibly missing time, Burks is a speculative add in deep leagues. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 2:17 am
  • Dante Exum a non-factor vs. Orlando
Dante Exum scored two points in seven minutes with one assist in Saturday’s win against the Magic.

Advice: Exum appears to have fallen behind in Utah’s backcourt rotation. Alec Burks is back in the picture and played well tonight, so Exum could continue to struggle for playing time in the foreseeable future. He should not be owned in any format. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 9:18 pm
  • Alec Burks scores eight points in 14 mins
Alec Burks played 14 minutes and scored eight points with six rebounds, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer in Saturday’s 114-107 victory of the Magic.

Advice: Burks was recalled from the D-League on Jan. 12 and could hang around for a while, as Rodney Hood (knee) suffered a hyperextended knee in tonight’s game. He has only appeared in six games for the Jazz this season, but could see a larger role if Hood misses any time. He looked good tonight and can play multiple positions for Utah. That being said, for now, Burks can be left on waivers, but he is someone worth keeping an eye on. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 9:12 pm
  • Tyreke Evans scores 14 points
Tyreke Evans made 6-of-15 from the field 14 points with one rebound, six assists, one steal and one turnover in 22 minutes against the Bulls on Saturday.

Advice: Bad shooting line aside, Evans really does look great. He's run the offense for most of his minutes while he's out there and he's playing three positions in the process. There's a massive injury risk on Evans going forward, but his owners can start using him as a must-start player when active. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 5:18 pm
  • Alec Burks will be in the rotation
Alec Burks will be in the rotation with Joe Johnson (rest) out on Saturday against the Magic.

Advice: We saw Burks get five minutes on Friday night, but he didn't play well on the offensive side. The Jazz loved him at times last year with some point guard minutes, but he's in a tight spot for minutes. Leave him on the wire. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 4:49 pm
  • Isaiah Whitehead (knee) probable for Sunday
Isaiah Whitehead (sprained left knee) is probable for Sunday against the Rockets.

Advice: It looks like he only needs one game off due to his injury from Thursday night. Whitehead should go back to his starting role and be looking at minutes in the mid 20s. Spencer Dinwiddie will seem similar playing time while Randy Foye could get bumped out of the rotation. This is a situation to avoid for most fantasy owners. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 2:05 pm
  • Waiters confident he will snap out of slump
Dion Waiters feels healthy and is confident he will snap out of his recent slump.

Advice: Since returning from a groin tear back on January 4th, Waiters is averaging 8.4 points, while shooting just 29.8 percent from the floor and 17.6 percent from downtown. Waiters believes he is close to regaining the form he had prior to the injury, when he was playing arguably the best basketball of his career. "No question, it's coming," Waiters said confidently. "Sooner than later, there's no doubt about that. The wait is over." Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 11:04 am
  • James Harden scores 27 points in loss
James Harden scored 27 points in a 110-105 home loss to the Grizzlies on Friday, adding three rebounds, nine assists and two 3-pointers.

Advice: Coach Mike D'Antoni was a little late on putting Harden back in during this game, which may have been a factor in the loss. The Rockets are now on their first losing streak of the season, but you can bet they'll be snapping out of it in Brooklyn on Sunday. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 10:29 pm
  • Tim Hardaway Jr. scores 23 points
Tim Hardway Jr. scored 23 points with two rebounds, two assists, one block, three steals and three 3-pointers in 29 minutes against the Celtics on Friday.

Advice: We have a four-game sample on Hardaway post-Kyle Korver and it's going well. In those four, he averaged 17.0 points, 3.0 boards, 2.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 3.3 treys. That's good enough to make him a top-50 player in that span. Yeah, he won't be this good, but he has to be picked up in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 9:37 pm
  • Victor Oladipo scores 19 points vs. MIN
Victor Oladipo scored 19 points with five rebounds, one steal and one 3-pointer in 33 minutes against the Wolves on Friday.

Advice: We're still waiting for him to add the other stats to go with some scoring, but he's trending up. In his previous January games, Oladipo averaged 16.2 points, 3.8 boards, 3.0 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.7 treys on 44.2 percent from the field. There's still a chance to buy low. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 8:46 pm
  • Malcolm Brogdon scores 13 points in win
Malcolm Brogdon scored 13 points with six rebounds, five assists, two steals and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes vs. the Heat on Friday.

Advice: He's going to be the starter going forward and it's probably not going to be a timeshare either -- Matthew Dellavedova only played 18 minutes in this one and hasn't played more than 23 minutes since returning from his hamstring injury. Brogdon finished 3-of-6 from the field and 6-of-6 from the line and should be owned in standard leagues. How did he fall to the second round? Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 8:33 pm
  • Nicolas Batum picks up where he left off
Nicolas Batum didn't skip a beat after missing the last week, scoring 19 points with five rebounds, two assists, two steals and one 3-pointer in 32 minutes on Friday.

Advice: He was really aggressive early and only needed two FGAs to get to his eight points to start, which was more than half of the Hornets' 14 at that point. Batum did let Kemba Walker run the offense a little more often, which may have been due to the matchup. The Frenchman should be able to flirt with early-round value going forward. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 6:41 pm
  • Marco Belinelli doesn't benefit without Lamb
Marco Belinelli scored six points with four rebounds, one assist, two steals and five turnovers in 22 minutes against the 76ers on Friday.

Advice: He surprisingly didn't really benefit with Jeremy Lamb (foot) out of the lineup. Coach Steve Clifford used a little Ramon Sessions at the two and we even saw Treveon Graham get first-half minutes. Leave Belinelli on the wire for now. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 6:39 pm
  • Isaiah Whitehead (knee) ruled out Friday
Isaiah Whitehead (knee) will not play Friday vs. Toronto.

Advice: Whitehead hurt his left knee in Thursday's game vs. New Orleans. He will have the knee evaluated in New York on Saturday. The Nets next game is Sunday vs. Houston. We should have an update after Whitehead meets with team doctors. Spencer Dinwiddie will start at point guard for Brooklyn on Friday night. Sean Kilpatrick will also see an uptick in minutes off the bench and is the preferable streaming option and DFS play. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 3:20 pm
  • Nic Batum, Cody Zeller do not have minute cap
Nicolas Batum (knee) and Cody Zeller (illness) will not have a minutes limit against the 76ers on Friday.

Advice: To be clear, just because they don't have a minutes limit doesn't mean they will be back to their normal playing time. After Batum missed the last week for a bone bruise, he may only be in the upper 20s tonight. Although, he did practice on Thursday and should be close to 100 percent. He should be in all lineups for season-long leagues and is in play for DFS. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 2:43 pm
  • Orlando expressed interest in Goran Dragic
The Orlando Magic, among other teams, have expressed interest in Goran Dragic, according to ESPN's Zach Lowe.

Advice: Dragic will surely be one of the names that are bandied about over the next month, in the lead-up to February's trade deadline. It's hard to imagine a scenario that is more fantasy-friendly to Dragic than the situation in Miami right now. Dragic is the offensive focal point for the short-handed Heat. His Usage Rate of 26.5 represents a career high. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 10:08 am
  • Isaiah Whitehead (knee) questionable Friday
Isaiah Whitehead (knee) is questionable for Friday's game vs. Toronto.

Advice: Whitehead injured his knee in a collision with Jrue Holiday on Thursday night and was unable to return to the game. Jeremy Lin has already been ruled out on Friday. If Whitehead does not play, Sean Kilpatrick and Spencer Dinwiddie will see additional minutes at the point. Kilpatrick would be the preferred choice as a cheap DFS play, as he has scored in double-figures in four of Brooklyn's last five games. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 9:54 am
  • Nicolas Batum (knee) will play on Friday
Nicolas Batum (knee) will play and start Friday vs. the Sixers.

Advice: After practicing Thursday, Batum was listed as probable, so this is simply confirmation that he'll suit up on Friday night. Batum is one of only four players averaging at last 15 points, seven rebounds and five assists per game this season. Jeremy Lamb (toe) is out, so Marco Belinelli will see an uptick in minutes backing up Batum. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 8:11 am
  • Steph Curry has 5 steals, 3 treys in win
Stephen Curry hit 9-of-17 shots and 3-of-9 3-pointers for 24 points, two rebounds, six assists, five steals and a season-high eight turnovers in Thursday's blowout win over the Suns.

Advice: His previous season high in TOs was six, so he was a bit uncharacteristic tonight. He also sat out the fourth quarter in another Warriors' blowout, which is pretty much the only downside to his game right now. He's scored between 22 and 40 points in all six of his January games and is shooting 48 percent this month. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 10:14 pm
