      Cain will become an unrestricted free agent after the Heat declined to extend him a $2.09 million qualifying offer Friday, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

      Advice: The Heat extended qualifying offers for fellow two-way players Alondes Williams and Cole Swider but elected not to do the same for Cain, who recently wrapped up his second season on a two-way deal. The 25-year-old forward logged just 44 appearances over the last two seasons with Miami, but he was a standout performer for the G League's Sioux Falls Skyforce in 2023-24, averaging 23.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.2 steals, 1.6 three-pointers and 1.1 blocks in 39.1 minutes over 15 appearances.       Advice: There have been multiple reports that talks between Klay and the Warriors haven’t been going well, and there have also been reports that Dallas is interested in Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Both players would bring championship pedigree and deep range shooting, so it isn’t surprising that Klay is being linked to Dallas.       The Pistons will not pick up Evan Fournier’s $19 million team option.

      Advice: Fournier was completely out of the rotation with the Knicks last season, but he ended up playing a decent-sized role for Detroit after the trade deadline. However, there was no chance that they were going to pay him $19 million next season. He’ll have a chance to start fresh, but it’s unlikely that he is relevant in fantasy hoops next season.       Advice: The move was fully anticipated, as Fournier had fallen well short of expectations since joining the Knicks on a three-year, $54 million deal in August 2021 as part of a sign-and-trade deal with the Celtics. The veteran wing was outside of the New York rotation before being dealt to Detroit prior to the deadline. He then averaged 7.2 points, 1.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.1 triples across 18.7 minutes in 29 games with the team.       Advice: Acquired from Philadelphia in October as part of the deal that sent James Harden to Los Angeles, Tucker largely struggled to find a role with the Clippers. He made 28 appearances (seven starts) for Los Angeles, averaging 1.6 points and 2.5 rebounds in 15.0 minutes. He had re-emerged as a rotation player at the tail end of the Clippers' first-round playoff series loss to the Mavericks, though LA was without Kawhi Leonard (knee) for both of those contests.       Advice: A key piece in the Nuggets' run to the NBA title in 2022-23, Brown struggled to take hold of a larger role in Indiana to begin the season and then with the Raptors, who acquired him from the Pacers in January. Following the trade to Toronto, Brown appeared in 34 games and averaged 9.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.6 three-pointers in 26.1 minutes per contest. Despite his underwhelming production in Toronto, the Raptors still saw enough value in Brown's defensive versatility to retain him at a $23 million salary.
