  • Bismack Biyombo double-doubles off the bench
Bismack Biyombo double-doubled in 24 minutes off the bench on Sunday, tallying 12 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks during the blowout loss to the Warriors.

Advice: With Nikola Vucevic's name starting to pop up in the rumor mill, it makes sense to stash away Biyombo as he could potentially be looking at a 30-plus minute role once/if Vucevic is sent elsewhere. Serge Ibaka posted a low-end line during his 21 minutes of floor time, producing 10 points, three boards, two 3-pointers, one assist, one steal, one block and one turnover in 21 minutes. • Klay Thompson scores 21 points w/ seven treys
Klay Thompson scored 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting Sunday, to go with seven 3-pointers, five rebounds, one assist and three turnovers in 34 minutes.

Advice: Thompson torched Orlando from beyond the arc, scoring all 21 of his points from distance and missing just two of those nine attempts. This was also the second time the Splash Brothers each drained seven triples in the same game, a feat that no other pair of teammates has ever done more than once. Rotoworld.com Today, 11:50 am
  • Nikola Vucevic scores 12 points in 24 minutes
Nikola Vucevic scored 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting Sunday, to go with four boards, two steals, one assist, one block and zero turnovers in 24 minutes.

Advice: Vucevic’s name is beginning to surface in the rumor mill, and a trade seems likely given his awkward fit in Orlando’s overly crowded frontcourt. He’s currently averaging the least amount of minutes (28.1) per game since his rookie year, so a trade away from Orlando could certainly improve his value. He has some buy-low appeal. Rotoworld.com Today, 11:44 am
  • Elfrid Payton double-doubles in 39 minutes
Elfrid Payton posted a 23-point, 10-assist double-double during Sunday's loss to the Warriors, to go with one 3-pointer, four rebounds, one steal and two turnovers in 39 minutes of play.

Advice: Payton has been steadily ascending the rankings over the past month, and with D.J. Augustin (ankle) going down in this one, he could be looking major minutes for the Magic moving forward. This was the ninth time this season that Payton had eclipsed the 20-point mark, and over the past few weeks, he’s been a top-75 guy with averages of 17.8 points, 6.7 dimes, 1.2 steals, 1.0 triple and 2.8 turnovers per game on 50.0 percent shooting from the field. • Andrew Bogut (hamstring) nearing a return
Rick Carlisle said that while Andrew Bogut (hamstring) will miss Sunday's game against the Lakers, there's a chance he could get back out there sometime next week.

Advice: Sunday will mark Bogut's sixth straight game on the sidelines, but it sounds like he should be able to get back out there for at least one game of Dallas' upcoming Wednesday-Thursday back-to-back set. Bogut's return will significantly cut into Salah Mejri and Dwight Powell's minutes. Rotoworld.com Today, 11:11 am
  • Blake Griffin (knee) is doubtful for Monday
Blake Griffin (knee) has been upgraded from "out" to "doubtful" for Monday's game vs. the Hawks.

Advice: Griffin has made it clear that he intends to return this week, so if we don't see him on Monday he could make his return to the lineup on Tuesday vs. the 76ers. The Clippers play a total of three times in Week 14, so starting Griffin in weekly formats is a bit too risky unless we get word that he will give it a go on Monday. Luc Mbah a Moute, Austin Rivers, Marreese Speights and Brandon Bass all take a hit with Griffin nearing a return, but Rivers is still worth owning in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Today, 10:17 am
    Injured

  • Rudy Gay (Achilles) to have surgery Monday
Rudy Gay will undergo surgery to repair his ruptured left Achilles tendon on Monday.

Advice: Gay has already been ruled out for the season. The Kings have lost five straight games and are in danger of falling out of the playoff hunt, and they will have to rely on Garrett Temple and Matt Barnes to fill the void left by Gay. He was expected to decline his player option for the 2017-18 season, so it will be interesting to see if this injury changes his plans. We won't have a timetable until Monday afternoon at the earliest. Rotoworld.com Today, 9:36 am

  • Gary Harris (ankle) questionable for Sunday
Gary Harris (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Wolves.

Advice: He was said to be targeting a return on Tuesday, but he now has an outside chance to play against the Wolves. If Harris decides to give it a go, that will lower the ceiling of Will Barton and Jamal Murray could lose minutes. Keep in mind that Emmanuel Mudiay (back) is out, so that might be why Harris is thinking about giving it a go. Rotoworld.com Today, 8:14 am
  • Andre Iguodala could be rested on Monday
Andre Iguodala could be rested on Monday vs. the Heat.

Advice: He's going to play on Sunday vs. the Magic and could see a couple more minutes with Shaun Livingston resting, but the Warriors are contemplating giving Iggy the day off on Monday. Their final decision likely hinges on the workload he sees vs. the Magic. If he's rested, Ian Clark and Patrick McCaw would be candidates to see a bump in minutes. Rotoworld.com Today, 7:41 am
  • Ben Simmons (foot) to have final scan Monday
Ben Simmons (foot) will have a "final scan" on Monday according to 76ers GM Bryan Colangelo.

Advice: While an official timetable has not been released, Simmons' return is coming "soon enough" and Chris Haynes of ESPN reported that he's expected to debut shortly after the All-Star break. 76ers coach Brett Brown hinted earlier in the week that he expects to see the No. 1 overall pick at some point this season, so feel free to stash him if you have an available IR spot. Expect the 76ers to monitor his minutes similar to the way they treated Joel Embiid earlier this season. Rotoworld.com Today, 6:48 am

  • P.J. Tucker not worried about potential trade
P.J. Tucker said he's not concerned about a potential trade.

Advice: "It’s part of business,'' Tucker said. "Contract year. Being a defensive player, a lot of teams are looking to make an addition to fight for a championship. But for me, it’s just focusing on being with my team and trying to win games. It happens every contract year. A lot of talk. A lot of it’s just rumors and people talking, but you never know in business. You just try to stay ready and block it out." The Suns are hoping to get a first-round pick in return for Tucker, and so far the Clippers, Bulls, Cavaliers, Timberwolves and Hawks are all rumored to have some interest. To be clear, Tucker would lose most of his fantasy value on all of those teams. Rotoworld.com Today, 6:27 am
  • Alec Burks looks great vs. Pacers
Alec Burks scored 13 points with four rebounds, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer in 19 minutes against the Pacers on Saturday.

Advice: This was the Burks we were expecting after the Rodney Hood injury (knee) last weekend. He did run some of the second-unit offense and attacked like he has done throughout his career. Most fantasy owners can take a wait-and-see approach here. Joe Ingles has a strong grip on his role as the short-term starter, playing 33 minutes with two points, four rebounds, six assists and three steals. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:15 pm
  • Monta Ellis scores 15 points
Monta Ellis scored 15 points with four rebounds, one assist, two steals and two 3-pointers in 33 minutes against the Jazz during a 109-100 loss to the Jazz on Saturday.

Advice: He scored a grand total of five points in his previous three games, so obviously we'll need to see it again. This wasn't a garbage-time special, by the way. This one game isn't good enough to change his outlook yet, but he gets a good matchup on Monday against the Knicks. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:13 pm
  • Myles Turner scores 13 points vs. Gobert
Myles Turner scored 13 points with seven rebounds, two assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 33 minutes against the Jazz on Saturday.

Advice: That'll definitely work against Rudy Gobert. At just 20 years old, Turner is one of the toughest problems at center for coaches because he stretches the floor to so well and already has a great low-post presence. Plus, he's already an elite shot blocker, ranking fourth in the NBA for blocks with fantastic shot-altering skills. He'll be in the mix as a top-20 selection next season. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:09 pm
  • Nikola Jokic scores 19 in just 21 minutes
Nikola Jokic made 8-of-11 from the field for 19 points during an easy 123-98 win over the Clippers on Saturday, adding 10 rebounds, three assists and two 3-pointers in just 21 minutes.

Advice: That's a lot damage in just 21 minutes and it's still an awesome line. The Nuggets crushed this one with a wire-to-wire victory. Jokic's efficiency continues to be the story and it's a big reason why only the Spurs have a better offensive efficiency rating in the last 15 games. We have Karl-Anthony Towns vs. Nikola Jokic Sunday at 7:00 EST, so tell your friends you won't be able to make it to watch the AFC Championship Game. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:06 pm
  • Rajon Rondo scored zero points in six minutes
Rajon Rando was held scoreless in six minutes on Saturday against the Kings.

Advice: Rondo did not attempt any shots, but dished out four assists and got a steal. The fact that he played just six minutes, despite Michael Carter-Williams struggling, has to be concerning. It appears that Rondo will not have a big role in Chicago in the foreseeable future and only a trade will help his fantasy value. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:47 pm
  • Nurkic has terrific game vs. Clipers
Jusuf Nurkic scored 12 points with five rebounds, three assists and no turnovers in 20 minutes against the Clippers on Saturday.

Advice: Only six of these minutes were in garbage time, so this may be one of the most encouraging games for Nurkic in a while. He gets a good matchup on paper against the larger Wolves frontline and the Nuggets seem committed to playing Kenneth Faried at the four most of the time. Nurkic still isn't a hot add and really needs a trade to reach his potential. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:44 pm
  • Juan Gone: Hernangomez falls out of rotation
Juan Hernangomez played five minutes with two points and one assist against the Clippers on Saturday.

Advice: He was out of the rotation until garbage time. We'll see Hernangomez again after his 38-minute game on Thursday, but there's no need to hold him in most leagues. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:41 pm
  • Jamal Murray set for more minutes
Jamal Murray scored five points with one rebound, three assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 19 minutes against the Clippers on Saturday.

Advice: He has said he wants to play point guard and he'll get his wish now to back up Jameer Nelson with Emmanuel Mudiay (back) out for Sunday. Gary Harris (ankle) is also out, so Murray should be looking at close to 27 minutes as the combo guard against the Wolves. He's not playing well enough to add in most leagues, though. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:39 pm
  • Jameer Nelson scores six points
Jameer Nelson scored six points with two rebounds, eight assists and one turnover in 29 minutes against the Clippers on Saturday.

Advice: Emmanuel Mudiay (back) has already been ruled out for Sunday, so he's a good bet to miss multiple games due to an aggravation. In Nelson's starts, he's averaged 14.0 points, 3.3 boards, 5.9 assists, 0.4 steals and 1.9 treys. If you have anything you're not too attached to and need some wins for next week, it makes a lot of sense to add him in most leagues until Mudiay gets the all clear. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:31 pm
  • Raymond Felton scores 14 off the bench
Raymond Felton made 6-of-17 from the field for 14 points off the bench against the Nuggets during a 123-98 loss on Saturday, adding three rebounds, three assists and two 3-pointers in 30 minutes.

Advice: He did start the second half because the Nuggets ran all over them with their bigger lineup including Mo Speights. Felton should be moving back into the starting lineup against the Hawks on Monday and should be able to flirt with top-100 value while Chris Paul (thumb) is out. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:28 pm
  • Nikola Mirotic scores 11 points in win
Nikola Mirotic scored 11 points with five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer in Saturday's 102-99 victory over the Kings.

Advice: It was his best game since returning from illness, but nothing to be too excited about. He can frustrate owners with his volatility. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:23 pm
  • Kawhi Leonard scores career-high 41 points
Kawhi Leonard won the battle against LeBron James during a thrilling 118-115 overtime victory in Cleveland on Saturday, scoring a career-high 41 points with six rebounds, five assists, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers in 46 minutes.

Advice: He's not a system player. He's a system, player. Leonard's offense has been better than his defense these days with six consecutive games of at least 30 points. He joins only George "The Iceman" Gervin as the only two in Spurs history to do that. Leonard wasn't expected to have a J coming out of college, but he posted a 58.7 effective field goal percentage on just his 92 jumpers alone in his last six. The Spurs are first in the NBA in offensive rating in that span and it's all about Kawhi. The Spurs are a Kawhi system these days. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:16 pm
  • Clint Capela plays 16 minutes on Saturday
Clint Capela came off the bench and had five points, four rebounds, two assists and one block in just 16 minutes on Saturday.

Advice: Capela blew up for 22 points and 12 boards in 21 minutes on Friday, but his minutes cut is understandable in a back-to-back situation with him coming off a broken leg. In any case, Capela's arrow is pointing up, while Montrezl Harrell's is pointing down. As long as Capela doesn't suffer a setback, you have to think he'll be back in the starting unit by the end of the upcoming week, if not much sooner. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:05 pm
  • Kyle Anderson gets 18 minutes
Kyle Anderson played 18 minutes against the Cavs on Saturday with two points, four rebounds, one assist, four steals and two blocks.

Advice: The Spurs when with a small-ball four and it really worked out. Anderson was a +19 in the plus-minus stat and he was out there on the last play, as well. Anderson could get decent run on Monday against the Nets, but obviously we're not adding him. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:00 pm
  • P.J. Tucker scores 15 off Suns bench
P.J. Tucker played 36 minutes and hit 6-of-10 shots and two 3-pointers for 15 points, three rebounds, two assists and three steals in Saturday's win over the Knicks.

Advice: We got good Tucker tonight, but he had scored eight or fewer points in his previous four games. He's getting heavy minutes and is worth keeping an eye on going forward, but we'll need to see more games like this one before getting too excited. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:35 pm
  • Raymond Felton moving to the bench
Raymond Felton will come off the bench against the Nuggets on Saturday.

Advice: He won't be getting a revenge game as a starter. It makes some sense because the Clippers have to figure out what to do with their bench and they need another big out there against Kenneth Faried -- Luc Mbah a Moute should guard Danilo Gallinari. Felton's owners shouldn't panic here. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 5:31 pm
  • Mudiay, Will, Gallo, Faried, Jokic starting
Emmanuel Mudiay, Will Barton, Danilo Gallinari, Kenneth Faried and Nikola Jokic will start against the Clippers on Saturday.

Advice: He is fine and should feast in this game as long as he doesn't get into foul trouble. Trust the Jokic. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 5:26 pm
  • Gary Harris could play Tuesday
Gary Harris (ankle) could play on Tuesday.

Advice: He did some pre-game shooting and looks to be progressing. Harris is not going to play on Sunday unless something crazy happens and he's still not a lock for Tuesday. With him out Will Barton is a must-start player while Jamal Murray benefits in very deep leagues. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 4:38 pm
  • Andrew Bogut (hamstring) will not play vs. LA
Andrew Bogut (hamstring) will not play against the Lakers on Sunday.

Advice: This isn't a surprise with Bogut expected to miss "the near future" due to his hamstring strain, according to coach Rick Carlisle. The Mavs have been using Dirk Nowitzki at center, but it didn't work out on Friday with Rudy Gobert dropping a 27-25 line on them. This figures to be a small-ball game, so using guys like Salah Mejri and Dwight Powell will be risky. Seth Curry looks like the clear winner from this. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 2:26 pm
  • Blake Griffin (knee) 'close to 100 percent'
Blake Griffin (knee) has been ruled out for Saturday night but coach Doc Rivers said that Griffin is "close to 100 percent."

Advice: Griffin is clearly trending in the right direction and the odds seem to be improving that he returns some time next week. After Saturday, the Clips next game is Tuesday in Philadelphia. Luc Mbah a Moute, Austin Rivers, Marreese Speights and Brandon Bass will all see their minutes and production impacted by Griffin's return. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:23 am
    Injured

  • Gary Harris (ankle) out at least 2 more games
Gary Harris (right ankle sprain) will miss at least the next two games, but Denver is hoping he can return early next week.

Advice: Harris has missed each of the last three games, and will miss two more, but the Nuggets are reportedly hoping to get Harris back for their game Tuesday vs. the Jazz. Will Barton had a good game (18 points, seven assists, three rebounds in 36 minutes) starting in place of Harris on Thursday. Jamal Murray (13 points six rebounds, two 3-pointers in 26 minutes) also played well off the bench. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:14 am
  • Alec Burks gets just 12 minutes
Alec Burks played 12 minutes against the Mavs on Friday with seven points, two rebounds and one 3-pointer.

Advice: He actually got some run at point guard tonight, but clearly the Jazz aren't ready up Burks' minutes so soon with the team playing well. If you haven't dropped him yet, we'll let you know if he pops back up. It does help that the Jazz seem pretty clueless on their backup point guard right now. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 12:18 am
  • Nikola Mirotic scores five points
Nikola Mirotic made 1-of-6 from the field for five points with four rebounds, two assists and five fouls in 17 minutes against the Hawks on Friday.

Advice: When Bad Mirotic shows up, he shows up in emphatic fashion. These are the breaks with him, but he is still worth owning in standard leagues unless there is an irresistible free agent out there. Rotoworld.com Friday, 10:44 pm
  • Rajon Rondo scores two points
Rajon Rondo scored two points with three rebounds, three assists and three steals in 18 minutes against the Hawks on Friday.

Advice: He was in the rotation, but he's been flat out awful. Rondo can't make free throws, he can't finish at the rim and he's had some defensive issues. We saw Rondo have a really nice season last year, so maybe a trade can get him going. We don't suggest stashing him in most cases. Rotoworld.com Friday, 10:33 pm
  • Myles Turner scores 15 points in loss
Myles Turner scored 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting with four rebounds, two assists, three steals and two blocks in 33 minutes vs. the Lakers on Friday.

Advice: Turner is having a breakout season in every sense of the word and Pacers president Larry Bird gushed about his young center this week. "He wants to be great. He’s going to be great," Bird said. "To me, I think he’s got a chance to be one of the best players or maybe the best player [in the franchise’s history]." Turner is just 20 years old and is flirting with top-20 value in standard leagues on the season, so he's going to be a superstar in real life and in fantasy for a very long time. Rotoworld.com Friday, 10:31 pm
  • Clint Capela scores career-high 22 points
Clint Capela showed he was close to 100 percent against the Warriors on Friday, scoring a career-high 22 points with 12 rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 21 minutes.

Advice: We'll keep this one simple here. If Capela is somehow on your waiver wire, go fix that right now and pick him up. Rotoworld.com Friday, 9:49 pm
  • Bismack Biyombo double-doubles w/ 4 blocks
Bismack Biyombo double-doubled vs. the Bucks on Friday with 13 points, 13 rebounds, four blocks and one steal.

Advice: He played 25 minutes off the bench compared to 23 for starting center Nikola Vucevic. Biyombo hit 5-of-6 from the field and finished one block shy of his season high. Vucevic's name popped up in another trade rumor on Friday which linked him to the Heat, so keep in mind that Biyombo could be back in the starting lineup if Vooch is moved. If you don't mind his awful FT percentage, Biyombo is worth keeping an eye on if you're in need of rebounds and blocks. Rotoworld.com Friday, 7:35 pm
  • Elfrid Payton scores 20 w/ 6 assists in win
Elfrid Payton scored 20 points with six assists, four rebounds, three steals and two triples in Friday's 112-96 win over the Bucks.

Advice: Payton logged a team-high 37 minutes and the Magic used a lot of two-PG lineups with Jodie Meeks (right thumb) and Evan Fournier (heel, foot) both out -- C.J. Watson played 31 minutes and D.J. Augustin played 28. Payton is going to be a workhorse going forward and finished 6-of-11 from the field and 6-of-6 from the line. The Magic have been linked to Goran Dragic, so Payton's owners will obviously be hoping for a quiet trade deadline. Rotoworld.com Friday, 7:17 pm
  • Blake Griffin listed as out for Saturday
Blake Griffin (knee) is being listed as out for Saturday against the Nuggets.

Advice: He is very likely to return on the upcoming road trip, but it won't be the first game unless something changes. Austin Rivers gets the biggest bump with Blake out because Luc Mbah a Moute is too important to the perimeter defense and should be starting. There's a great chance Griffin returns next week. Rotoworld.com Friday, 1:11 pm
    Injured

  • Gary Harris listed as out for Saturday
Gary Harris (right ankle sprain) is listed as out for Saturday against the Clippers.

Advice: That makes it three games for Harris, who was hurt on Monday. Harris is having a really rough season, but his owners should still try to hang in there. In the meantime, Will Barton is going to get some serious run as the starter with Jamal Murray backing him up. Rotoworld.com Friday, 1:08 pm
  • Nikola Jokic (ankle) is probable
Nikola Jokic (ankle) is listed as probable for Saturday against the Clippers.

Advice: It's important to note that he is listed for an ankle, which was the same reason he was listed before Thursday's 35-point gem. Jokic had some knee to upper-leg contact and was in some pain for about two minutes, but he didn't miss time. He should be all set for another big game. Rotoworld.com Friday, 1:01 pm
  • Stein confirms report on P.J. Tucker
ESPN's Marc Stein confirmed the Suns are looking for a first-round pick in a P.J. Tucker deal.

Advice: This coincides with a local Arizona report, saying the Suns still have some interest in trying to resign Tucker. In a good portion of coach Earl Watson's post-game interviews, he talks about Tucker helping the team's identity, so the coach clearly likes having him around the young players. If Tucker is dealt, T.J. Warren would be a big winner while the Suns may get a look at Dragan Bender playing more three. Rotoworld.com Friday, 12:14 pm
  • Magic offered up Vooch for Dragic?
The Magic reportedly offered Nikola Vucevic and a future first-round pick for Goran Dragic, but the Heat had "no interest" in the offer, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

Advice: Interesting. On the Heat side, they already have a max-deal center, so adding another high-cost big man in a smaller-ball system makes little sense. For Orlando, this is basically the Magic doubling down on what they did with Serge Ibaka, hoping the player they trade for will resign with them. Presumably, this future first is not for the 2017 draft because the Magic are not good and are likely to be lottery bound. Vucevic is in a great spot for his value right now, so a potential trade could hurt his fantasy stock. Rotoworld.com Friday, 11:34 am
  • Report: Jusuf Nurkic 'sure' to be traded
According to Marc Stein of ESPN, Jusuf Nurkic is "sure" to be traded prior to the February trade deadline.

Advice: Per Stein: "Sources say that the Nuggets, having acknowledged that Nikola Jokic and Nurkic didn't click as a pairing, are actively working to find Nurkic a new home that would give him the chance he deserves to be a front-line center." A trade is necessary to revive Nurkic's dying fantasy value. With Jokic playing at an incredibly high level, Nurk simply wastes away on the Denver bench. A trade would be best for all parties involved. It would also clear out more minutes for Kenneth Faried. Rotoworld.com Friday, 10:04 am
  • Blake Griffin could return on road trip
Blake Griffin (knee) could return to game action on the upcoming road trip.

Advice: The Clippers start their road trip on Saturday and won't be coming back home until Feb. 2. Griffin has been going through some sprints and DeAndre Jordan seemed encouraged. "I’m ready for Blake to come back. I know he’s extremely ready to be back on the floor," Jordan said. He doesn't have a target date, but another loss on Thursday could move BG's timetable up. Rotoworld.com Friday, 12:07 am

  • Raymond Felton scores 10 points in loss
Raymond Felton scored 10 points with eight assists, four rebounds and two steals on Thursday night against the Timberwolves.

Advice: Felton got the start for the injured Chris Paul (hand) tonight and played 34 minutes. Although he scored just 10 points, he did contribute in dimes and steals. He should be owned in all formats during Paul’s absence, but will hurt you in field goal percentage some nights. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 10:09 pm
  • Kawhi Leonard scores 34 points in win vs. DEN
Kawhi Leonard was on fire yet again during a 118-104 win over the Nuggets on Thursday, scoring 34 points with five rebounds, four assists, two steals, one block and two 3-pointers.

Advice: He earned an All-Star starting spot today, which was fairly obvious. Leonard has scored at least 30 points for five consecutive games, which has only been done by two other Spurs ever (George Gervin and Mike Mitchell). Coach Gregg Popovich had a very typical answer about Kawhi's play after the game. "Kawhi Leonard was super, but he's getting paid to be super," Pop said. Leonard is going to be super for a long time. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 9:24 pm
  • Trust The Jokic: Nikola scores career-high 35
Nikola Jokic erupted for a career-high 35 points during a 118-104 loss to the Spurs on Thursday, adding 12 rebounds, four assists and two 3-pointers.

Advice: He went bonkers in the fourth quarter, scoring 14 straight points for the Nuggets to keep them in this game. As you might expect, coach Mike Malone had some nice things to say after the game. "Whether it's playmaking, scoring, rebounding, he's a terrific young talent who's only getting better before our eyes," Malone said. Jokic became the first Nugget with three straight games of at least 25 points and 10 boards since Carmelo Anthony. In those three games, Jokic averaged 31.3 points, 12.7 boards, 3.3 assists, 1.0 steals, 1.7 blocks and 1.3 treys on 61.9 percent from the field. He's been a top-five player in his last 10 games. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 8:41 pm
  • Juan Hernangomez scores eight in a start
Juan Hernangomez played 38 minutes in a start against the Spurs on Thursday, scoring eight points with six rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer.

Advice: He was really good and his defensive presence will get him on coach Mike Malone's good side. He played mostly at the three in this game, but he also played some power forward minutes. Hernangomez also played the entire fourth quarter of his close game as the PF-C combo with Nikola Jokic. If Danilo Gallinari (ankle) needs to miss more time, we may see more of Juancho. He's worth a look in 20-team leagues for now. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 8:33 pm
  • Jamal Murray scores 13 points vs. Spurs
Jamal Murray scored 13 points in 26 minutes against the Spurs on Thursday, adding six rebounds, two assists and two 3-pointers.

Advice: He picked up some extra run because the Nuggets had to play Will Barton at the three more because both Danilo Gallinari (ankle) and Wilson Chandler (personal) were out. Chances are both of those guys won't miss much time, so we're not suggesting Murray as a pickup in most cases. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 8:23 pm
  • Jusuf Nurkic gets 14 minutes
Jusuf Nurkic scored five points with one rebound, one block and one turnover in 14 minutes against the Spurs on Thursday.

Advice: The Nuggets had some success with Nurkic next to Nikola Jokic last year and gave it a go briefly in this game. This was also likely due to Wilson Chandler (personal) not playing, so the needle doesn't move much on Nurk here. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 8:19 pm
  • Felton, JJ, Rivers, Luc & Jordan starting
Raymond Felton, J.J. Redick, Austin Rivers, Luc Mbah a Moute and DeAndre Jordan will start against the Wolves on Thursday.

Advice: This was expected all along and the Clippers will have to manage without the NBA's top player in real plus minus. Felton is worth a look if you need a point guard for the next 6-8 weeks. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 7:21 pm
  • P.J. Tucker scores just two points
P.J. Tucker scored two points with five rebounds, two assists and two steals in 29 minutes against the Cavs on Thursday.

Advice: Coach Earl Watson always plays Tucker against top-notch wings, so that explains the playing time. As you can see with his stat line, he's not really doing much with his minutes. Tucker has actually been a ninth-round guy in his last 10, but a possible trade and a low upside makes him a borderline asset in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 6:38 pm
  • Juancho Hernangomez likely to start
Juancho Hernangomez is likely to start against the Spurs on Thursday.

Advice: With no Danilo Gallinari (ankle) or Wilson Chandler (personal), Hernangomez could see minutes around 24 tonight. We should also see a ton of Barton at the three, which would open up some minutes for Jamal Murray. Hernangomez is only worth a look in deep leagues for now with Chandler and Gallo not expected to miss much time. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 5:15 pm
  • Rudy Gay suffers full rupture of Achilles
Rudy Gay suffered a full rupture of the left Achilles tendon and will miss the rest of the season.

Advice: He is going to have surgery in the coming days. This is a brutal blow for the Kings, who were in the mix to fight for the eighth seed. It's just as bad for Gay and now he may not opt out of his $14.2 million player option for next season at age 30. For the rest of the season, the Kings may look to Garrett Temple, Anthony Tolliver and Matt Barnes to step up. The last stint Gay missed, it was Temple turning in the best value. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 2:35 pm
    Injured

  • Blake Griffin running at full speed
Blake Griffin (knee) was running at full speed in practice on Thursday.

Advice: He was doing some more on-court work and going through some tests. Yesterday, coach Doc Rivers said it'll likely be another 1-2 weeks before Griffin can return. Upon his return, he'll likely affect Austin Rivers, Marreese Speights and Brandon Bass. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 12:02 pm
    Injured

  • Brett Brown says Simmons should play
Coach Brett Brown said he thinks the 76ers will have Ben Simmons (foot) at some point this year.

Advice: In case you missed it yesterday, ESPN reported he could debut shortly after the All-Star Game. This is really the most positive sign from Brown about a potential target date. This could be due to the 76ers arguably playing the best basketball in 2017 and now they actually have a chance to make the playoffs. We'd still rather stash Khris Middleton (hamstring), but feel free to stash Simmons if you have a big lead or an open I.R. spot. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 11:27 am
    Injured

  • Nikola Jokic (ankle) will play on Thursday
Nikola Jokic (right ankle sprain) will play on Thursday vs. the Spurs.

Advice: He was listed as probable and his status was never really in doubt for tonight's game. Make sure the fantasy superstar is deployed in all lineups, even in a tough matchup vs. the Spurs -- Jokic had 19 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and a steal in their previous meeting on Jan. 5. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 9:38 am
  • P.J. Tucker drawing interest around the NBA
P.J. Tucker is reportedly drawing interest from around the league.

Advice: Tucker is on the final year of an affordable deal, as he's on the books for just $5.3 million. With the Suns rebuilding, it's no secret that they will listen to offers for their defensive stopper. According to this report, the Clippers, Bulls, Cavaliers, Timberwolves and Hawks all have interest in Tucker, but Suns GM Ryan McDonough said earlier in the week that he doesn't like taking back late-round picks in deals which could complicate things in trade talks. If the Suns can find a new home for Tucker, T.J. Warren will get a bump and Dragan Bender will have a larger role. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 7:22 am
  • Andrew Bogut (hamstring) out Thursday
Andrew Bogut (hamstring) will not play on Thursday vs. the Heat or on Friday vs. the Jazz.

Advice: He is out for the "near future," so we likely won't see him back on the court in January. This will be Bogut's fourth game on the shelf, so expect Seth Curry to draw another start with Dirk Nowitzki starting at center. Leave Bogut on the wire. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 6:10 am
  • Myles Turner scores 16 points vs. Kings
Myles Turner made 7-of-9 from the field for 16 points with five rebounds, one block and one 3-pointer in 34 minutes against the Kings on Wednesday.

Advice: While he didn't do much damage on the glass and only had one block, Turner was really good against DeMarcus Cousins on the defensive end. Turner had seen a sudden spike on the glass this month, averaging 10.3 boards per game in his previous January games -- he only had 6.5 in December. Turner has held steady as a second-round player in standard leagues this season. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 10:59 pm
  • Monta Ellis has another terrible game
Monta Ellis scored two points with four rebounds, three assists and two steals in 29 minutes against the Kings on Wednesday.

Advice: He's had a miserable season and maybe he's not healthy. Ellis has scored two points in three of his last five games and has seen his usage drop big time. If you want to drop Ellis for a hot free agent, we still don't blame you. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 10:45 pm
  • Andre Iguodala gets four steals w/ full line
Andre Iguodala had another nice game on Wednesday, swiping four steals to go along with six points, five assists and two rebounds in 25 minutes.

Advice: The 13-year veteran is quietly having a phenomenal month of January, scoring 7.3 points on 62.5 percent shooting with 1.0 threes, 3.7 boards, 3.6 assists and 0.7 steals. He's a combined 7-of-11 from deep in that span. It's inevitable that he'll cool off, but he's getting a ton of easy shot attempts and is at least worth some attention in deeper leagues. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 10:39 pm
  • Klay Thompson (personal) starts, logs 30 mins
Klay Thompson (personal) started Wednesday's game and finished with 14 points, five boards, three assists, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers in 30 minutes of action.

Advice: Thompson's status was a roller-coaster throughout the day. He was initially ruled out after flying to Portland to be with his ill grandfather, but he was later deemed 'questionable' and then 'probable'. Thompson's stats this season are remarkably similar to last year, including an identical 17.3 shots per game, and he's still returning fourth-round value despite the surplus of talented scorers in Golden State. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 10:38 pm
  • Tests indicate Rudy Gay tore his Achilles
Preliminary tests indicated Rudy Gay has suffered a torn left Achilles.

Advice: He'll have an MRI on Thursday to confirm the injury, which is likely to end his season. Gay had micro tearing in his left Achilles dating back to 2014 and received shockwave treatment before. He's heading into a contract year and the timing is just terrible for the 30-year-old forward. The Kings will have to count on Garrett Temple, Matt Barnes and Anthony Tolliver. Temple is worth a pickup in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 9:48 pm
    Injured

  • Rudy Gay (leg) gets carried off the court
Rudy Gay (leg) was carried off the court in the third quarter on Wednesday.

Advice: It did not look good. He was driving along the baseline and his leg gave out on the play. Gay couldn't put any weight on his left leg and the Kings had four people carry him off the court. Considering how the Kings have been careful with him, he's likely to miss time here. Matt Barnes, Anthony Tolliver and Garrett Temple could all gain value. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 9:22 pm
    Injured

  • Bismack Biyombo plays through bruised knee
Bismack Biyombo played through a bruised knee to finish Wednesday's loss in New Orleans with four points, seven rebounds and no other stats in 19 minutes.

Advice: Biyombo recently lost his starting center job to Nikola Vucevic, but even prior to the demotion he was a fantasy liability. He offers nothing beyond boards and blocks, and his awful FT shooting (49.6 percent) is destructive in roto leagues. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 8:44 pm
  • Clint Capela scores just five off bench
Clint Capela came off the bench against the Bucks on Wednesday with five points, three rebounds and two blocks in 11 minutes.

Advice: He still has a minutes limit and it may stick around. The good news is Capela came in for garbage time, so maybe the plan all along was to have him close out for this game. While he hasn't done much yet, he has to be owned in all standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 8:32 pm
  • Klay Thompson (personal) will play Wednesday
Klay Thompson (personal) has arrived at Oracle Arena and he will play vs. the Thunder.

Advice: Thompson flew back from Portland and he made it to the arena with enough time to ensure that he'll be in the starting lineup. Get him into your active lineups. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 6:12 pm
  • ESPN: Ben Simmons could debut after AS break
Ben Simmons (foot) "could make his much-anticipated NBA debut shortly after the All-Star break," according to Chris Haynes of ESPN.com.

Advice: The report adds the No. 1 pick has a chance to make his NBA debut "near March," assuming he doesn't have a setback. He went through 5-on-5 for the first time last week and continues to do some work pre-game, including on the road. He'll likely have a minutes limit upon his return, so it may be a while before he's contributing reliable production. Simmons is a questionable stash in standard leagues, especially if you need to make up ground in the standings. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 4:36 pm
    Injured

  • Clint Capela will come off the bench vs. MIL
Clint Capela will come off the bench for Wednesday's game against the Bucks.

Advice: Capela started in his return from a 15-game absence on Tuesday, but only lasted nine minutes, so it doesn't make much sense to start him while he's dealing with a minutes limit. Capela does have some nice upside, but it'll probably take him at least a week before he's really up to speed. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 3:33 pm
  • Woj: Klay Thompson intends to play vs. OKC
Klay Thompson (personal) flew to Portland to visit his ill grandfather today and intends to return to Bay Area to play against the Thunder on Wednesday night, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

Advice: Thompson has told general manager Bob Myers he could fly back in time for the game tonight, so Thompson looks like he's closer to probable for this game. If he isn't back in time, we'll see more Pat McCaw Ian Clark and Andre Iguodala could play more. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 3:31 pm
  • No chance Simmons plays on Jan. 27
Coach Brett Brown said there is "no chance" Ben Simmons will play on Jan. 27 against the Rockets.

Advice: That game was switched to national TV, which has caused some speculation about Simmons making his debut. He is doing some on-court work and the 76ers actually in the mix to make the postseason has given the team a reason to play him. Perhaps he can make his debut next month, but he's still only a questionable stash without a target date. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 2:32 pm
    Injured

  • Gary Harris will not play on Thursday
Gary Harris (ankle) will not play against the Spurs on Thursday.

Advice: This will be his second game out of the lineup. Harris is having a tough go this year, suffering injuries to his groin, foot and now this ankle sprain. With him out, Will Barton is a must-start player in season long and is probably worth using in DFS. Jamal Murray also benefits. Harris should still probably remain owned in standard leagues despite all these injuries. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 2:25 pm
  • Jokic, Gallinari probable Thursday vs. SA
Nikola Jokic (right ankle sprain) and Danilo Gallinari (right ankle sprain) are probable to play Thursday vs. the Spurs.

Advice: When they're listed as probable in Denver, that means that they'll get out there, so owners can feel confident plugging these guys in their lineups on Thursday. Jokic has been putting up top-3 numbers in 9-cat leagues over the past two weeks, so he's obviously a must-start guy every time he's active. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 2:04 pm
  • Update: Klay Thompson is questionable vs. OKC
Updating a previous item, Klay Thompson (personal) is now questionable to play against the Thunder on Wednesday.

Advice: It was just five minutes ago Klay was called out for this game, but now there is a chance he can make it back with the team in time for tonight after dealing with a family matter. He'll likely be a game-time call for the late start tonight, so DFS players likely won't know when it's time to set your lineup. If he's out, Pat McCaw, Ian Clark and Andre Iguodala would benefit. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 11:15 am
  • Blake Griffin about a week or two out
Coach Doc Rivers said Blake Griffin (knee) is still about 1-2 weeks away from his return.

Advice: That means he'll be on the back end of his 4-6 week timeline from back on Dec. 20. Griffin is starting to do some on-court work and ran some sprints before Saturday's game. The Clippers may have a tough time winning games with Chris Paul (hamstring) also out. Raymond Felton and Austin Rivers should be carrying the offense. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 11:07 am
    Injured

  • Report: OKC turned off by Rudy Gay's agency
The Thunder have reportedly been turned off by Rudy Gay joining the Roc Nation Sports agency.

Advice: This is the same agency that represents Kevin Durant, and according to Sam Amick of USA Today, OKC management partly blames the Roc Nation agency for the departure of Durant. Amick speculates that a trade sending Gay to Miami in some sort of Goran Dragic package is more likely, although Pat Riley may prefer to wait for Gay to hit free agency rather than unload assets to grab him for half a season now. In terms of fantasy hoops, Miami would be a decent landing spot, but this is all speculation at the moment. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 11:04 am
    Injured

  • Bismack Biyombo (knee) will play Wednesday
Bismack Biyombo (knee) will play Wednesday vs. the Pelicans.

Advice: Biyombo took a nasty spill during Monday's game, but he played through it, and after resting up on Tuesday he'll be good to go for tonight's game. Biyombo hasn't been very good this season, owning meager averages of 6.1 points, 7.6 boards and 1.3 blocks per contest, so while his bones may very well be infused with liquid adamantium, he's not worth owning in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 10:33 am
  • Jameer Nelson comes back to earth Tuesday
Jameer Nelson played 20 minutes and hit just 1-of-2 shots for two points, four assists and a steal in Tuesday's win over the Lakers.

Advice: He was probably a popular DFS play with Gary Harris out again, but he was strictly the backup point guard tonight. He had 18 points, four boards, four assists and two 3-pointers on Monday against his former team (Magic), but wasn't feeling quite as motivated tonight. Will Barton was awesome tonight and is the guy you want to target as long as Gary Harris is out with his ankle injury. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 10:20 pm
  • Nikola Jokic racks up 29 points, 15 rebounds
Nikola Jokic stayed red hot on Tuesday, racking up 29 points, 15 rebounds, three blocks and a 3-pointer on 12-of-22 shooting in a 127-121 win over the Lakers.

Advice: The Lakers are pretty bad against opposing bigs and Jokic took advantage tonight. He's absolutely crushing right now, scoring 29 and 30 points in each of his last two games, and averaging 25 points, 11.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.3 steals, 1.0 blocks and 1.0 3-pointers over his last five games, while shooting a ridiculous 65 percent from the floor and 76 percent from the line. He might be the most underrated fantasy player in the land right now. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 9:59 pm
  • Rajon Rondo fading, scores zero Tuesday
Rajon Rondo played 23 minutes off the bench on Tuesday but missed all four of his shots and failed to score, finishing with just three rebounds and five assists in a loss to the Mavs.

Advice: Rondo is fading fast, hasn't scored more than six points in any of his last four games, and is averaging just 3.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 0.5 steals over his last four games, while hitting just 6-of-25 shots over that stretch. There are simply better players to spend your time and effort on than Rondo right now, but he's probably still worth holding in deeper leagues. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 8:19 pm
  • Nikola Mirotic plays 22 minutes in return
Nikola Mirotic returned from an illness on Tuesday and had six points, five rebounds, a steal, a block and two 3-pointers in 22 minutes.

Advice: Not a bad line from Mirotic, who also benefitted from the absence of Taj Gibson, who was out with an ankle injury. The song remains the same with Miro - he'll have some big games and some bad games, so catching him on the right night can be tough. But if Gibson's ankle injury lingers, Mirotic will be someone worth picking up, while he could also bounce back for a decent second half, with or without Gibson. Mirotic is the textbook definition of a borderline player to own in 12-team leagues. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 8:09 pm
  • Kawhi Leonard scores 34 w/ 7 boards, 5 dimes
Kawhi Leonard scored 34 points on 12-of-17 shooting in Tuesday's 122-114 win over the Wolves.

Advice: He's unfair. This was Leonard's 12th 30-point game of the season and his fourth in a row, becoming the first Spur to score 30+ points in four straight since Tim Duncan in Jan. 2004. The Claw added seven rebounds, five assists, one steal and two triples, and he also finished 8-of-9 from the free throw line. There's no reason why he shouldn't be a top-5 option in standard leagues the rest of the way. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 8:08 pm
  • Clint Capela fails to score in return
Clint Capela played for the first time in 15 games after a broken leg and started on Tuesday, but missed all three of his shots and didn't score in just nine minutes of action.

Advice: The good news is that he's back and the bad news is that it will be baby steps for Capela as he works his way back into game shape. He's worth holding, but it may be a week or so before we see him return to form. He did have five rebounds and a block, for what it's worth. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 7:03 pm
  • Gary Harris (ankle) out for Nuggets
As expected, Gary Harris will not play for the Nuggets on Tuesday due to a sprained right ankle.

Advice: Will Barton (flu) is available and it would be surprising if both he and Jameer Nelson don't make some noise tonight in Harris' absence. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 6:19 pm
  • Raymond Felton looking at a bump in minutes
Raymond Felton is looking at a bump in minutes with Chris Paul (thumb surgery) out for the next 6-8 weeks.

Advice: Felton started the second half of Monday's game and looked great with 15 points on 7-of-7 shooting with six assists, three rebounds, one block, one steal and two turnovers in 27 minutes, and he averaged 10.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.7 triples in six previous starts this season. He's likely going to take over the starting role in Los Angeles and looks like a strong pickup in standard leagues. Austin Rivers also looks like a great pickup. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 4:30 pm
  • Bismack Biyombo (knee) questionable vs. NO
Bismack Biyombo (right knee bruise) did not practice on Tuesday and is questionable to play Wednesday vs. the Pelicans.

Advice: Biyombo had a really nasty fall on Monday, and while he played through it, it looks like the injury swelled up on him on the flight over to New Orleans. If Biyombo can't give it a go on Wednesday night, Nikola Vucevic would likely see his minutes rise to the high-30s, and Aaron Gordon may be able to spend some more time at the four-spot. Check back for another update following Wednesday morning's shootaround. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 1:30 pm
  • Nikola Mirotic (illness) will play Tuesday
Nikola Mirotic (illness) will play Tuesday vs. the Mavs.

Advice: Mirotic, who has missed four straight games due to strep throat, has been a disappointment this season, averaging career-lows in points (9.5), assists (0.8), field goal percentage (.387), 3-point percentage (.312) and free-throw percentage (.758). Hopefully, he can bounce back in the second half of the season to salvage his 2016-17 campaign. Mirotic's return will cut into Doug McDermott's minutes and likely knock Bobby Portis out of the rotation. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 9:11 am
  • Clint Capela (knee) will start Tuesday night
Clint Capela (knee) will return to the starting lineup Tuesday night in Miami, but will "probably" play fewer than 20 minutes.

Advice: Capela will return after missing 15 games. Coach Mike D'Antoni indicated that there will not be a minutes cap in place, but did say: "His condition being what it is, we'll keep him under 20 minutes, probably." Capela was averaging 24.5 minutes per game over Houston's first 28 games this season. Montrezl Harrell had played relatively well in Capela absence, but will now get bumped back to the bench. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 8:28 am
  • Clint Capela (knee) expected to play Tuesday
Clint Capela (knee) is expected to make his return to the lineup on Tuesday vs. Miami.

Advice: "I've been doing pretty good in the workouts by myself, sprinting, dunking. It all felt good," Capela said. He had been playing the best basketball of his career prior to the injury, which was initially projected to cost him 4-6 weeks. He is averaging 11.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.6 blocks - all career-highs. Make sure he is not floating around your league's waiver wire, as he was returning mid-round value over the first two months of the season. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 8:00 am
  • Jokic leads offensive revival in Denver
The Nuggets have been one of the NBA's most efficient and effective offenses since sticking with Nikola Jokic as the team's starting center.

Advice: Over the last month, the Nuggets are top-10 in the league in field goals made, field goal accuracy, 3-point accuracy, 3-point field goals made. Jokic has been the centerpiece of the offense, and the engine driving them forward. Over his last 14 games, Jokic is averaging 19.2 points, 9.1 rebounds and 5.4 assists. He's been top-15 overall fantasy producer over this stretch. The sky is the limit for this kid over the second half of the season Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 7:31 am
  • Gary Harris (ankle): X-rays are negative
X-rays on Gary Harris' sprained right ankle came back negative, but Harris is not expected to be available on Tuesday when the Nuggets play the L.A. Lakers.

Advice: Harris has played just 17 of the Nuggets 38 games this season due to a variety of groin and foot injuries, and it appears he will miss at least one more due to this ankle sprain. The good news is that this injury seems relatively minor. "I don’t think this is nearly as serious or severe as the previous injury," coach Mike Malone said. Jameer Nelson and Will Barton will likely see a boost if Harris is unable to play. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 6:44 am
  • Jameer Nelson enjoys victory over the Magic
Jameer Nelson said he had "extra incentive" playing against his former team, the Orlando Magic, on Monday night.

Advice: Nelson left Orlando in 2014 but clearly isn't happy with the way the relationship ended. ""It just felt like certain people counted me out, but one thing I’m never going to do is count myself out," said Nelson. He finished with 18 points, four boards and four assists in 32 minutes on Monday. With Gary Harris (ankle) expected to miss Tuesday's game vs. the Lakers, Nelson could be in line for extra playing time on Tuesday as well Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 6:36 am
  • Raymond Felton scores 15 on 7-of-7 shooting
Raymond Felton scored 15 points on a perfect 7-of-7 shooting in Monday's 120-98 win over the Thunder on Monday.

Advice: Chris Paul left the game with a sprained left thumb and did not return, so Felton started the second half and added six assists, three rebounds, one block, one steal and two turnovers in 27 minutes. X-rays were negative on Paul's thumb, but he is scheduled to have an MRI on Tuesday at which point we will know if he needs to miss additional time. Felton looks like a nice speculative pickup with averages of 10.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.7 triples in six previous starts this season. Rotoworld.com Monday, 10:13 pm
  • Alec Burks fizzles in nine minutes
Alec Burks played just nine minutes and missed all four of his shots, failing to score a point in Monday's 106-101 win over the Suns.

Advice: Joe Ingles started for Rodney Hood (knee) and played well, and Joe Johnson was Joe Cool off the bench with 15 points and three 3-pointers, so Burks looks like the big loser in the Hood-injury sweepstakes. If you picked up Burks in hopes of a decent week, we'd recommend throwing him back and taking a flier on Ingles or Johnson, instead. Rotoworld.com Monday, 9:16 pm
  • P.J. Tucker hauls in season-high 13 boards
P.J. Tucker tied his season high with 13 rebounds and added eight points and two steals in 27 minutes on Monday.

Advice: Tucker is averaging just 6.2 points over his last five games, but also 7.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals in 29 minutes a game. He doesn't hit threes, hand out assists or block shots, and with his shaky field goal percentage and lack of scoring, is a borderline player to target in fantasy leagues. Chances are you can do better off your waiver wire. Rotoworld.com Monday, 8:55 pm
  • Andre Iguodala scores season-high 14 points
Andre Iguodala scored a season-high 14 points on 5-of-5 shooting in Monday's win over the Cavaliers.

Advice: You just knew he was going to step up with LeBron James in town. Iguodala did all of his damage in just 25 minutes of the blowout, adding five assists, three rebounds, one block and two triples. As good as he was tonight, Iggy was only averaging 5.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists on the season, so we can't get behind an add in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Monday, 8:01 pm
  • Bismack Biyombo scores season-high 15 points
Bismack Biyombo took a nasty spill on Monday in Orlando's loss to Denver, but still managed to surprisingly score a season-high 15 points (on 7-of-9 shooting) and grab nine rebounds in 20 minutes of action.

Advice: Biyombo had not scored more than 10 points since early December, so this was offensive outburst wasn't expected, especially after a scary fall in which it appeared his leg bent the wrong way. Nonetheless, Orlando has shifted towards a small-ball approach, which has capped Biz's fantasy upside significantly. Rotoworld.com Monday, 6:24 pm
  • Nikola Vucevic scores 17 in 28 minutes
Nikola Vucevic scored 17 points with four rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block in 28 minutes on Monday in Denver.

Advice: Vooch has scored at least 15 points in each of Orlando's last five games and is averaging 19.4 points (on 55.7 percent shooting), 8.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.4 blocks and 1.2 steals over that five-game stretch. His stock is trending upwards and his appears to be poised for a solid second half of the season now that his role in the offense is secure. Rotoworld.com Monday, 6:15 pm
  • Elfrid Payton stays hot, double-doubles
Elfrid Payton posted a big line in a 125-112 loss to the Nuggets, finishing with 20 points, 12 assists, four rebounds and three turnovers.

Advice: Payton has had an up-and-down season but has reeled off three straight great games. He is averaging 22.3 points, 9.3 assists and 5.6 rebounds over Orlando's last three contests. Backup D.J. Augustin played only 19 minutes, as Payton is badly outplaying Augustin of late. In addition, Evan Fournier (foot) missed another game, which opened up more minutes for Elf. Payton's stock is definitely on the rise. Rotoworld.com Monday, 5:55 pm
  • Jameer Nelson scores 18 points in 32 minutes
Jameer Nelson had 18 points, four rebounds, four assists, two 3-pointers, one steal and one turnover in 32 minutes on Monday.

Advice: Gary Harris sprained his ankle just three minutes into the game, which opened up extra playing time for Nelson, who has now scored in double-figures in three straight games. Harris is doubtful for Tuesday's game vs. the Lakers, so Nelson could be in line for an uptick in playing time. Rotoworld.com Monday, 5:32 pm
  • Jamal Murray plays just 5 minutes on Monday
Jamal Murray played only five minutes in Denver's win over Orlando and failed to make any impact on the stat sheet.

Advice: It was an old-fashioned five trillion for Murray, as he didn't tally a single point, rebound, assist, steal or block. It is surprising that Murray only played five minutes (and zero in the second half) considering that Denver starting shooting guard Gary Harris sprained his ankle just three minutes into the game. Murray has played in all 39 games this season, but Monday was the first time he played fewer than 11 minutes. With Harris doubtful for Tuesday, it would seem Murray would be poised for an uptick in minutes, but after Monday's disappointment, he can't be trusted. Rotoworld.com Monday, 5:20 pm
  • Gary Harris (ankle) doubtful Tuesday vs. LAL
Gary Harris (right ankle sprain) is doubtful to play Tuesday vs. the Lakers.

Advice: "It is the same leg that his foot injury was on but this is separate," said head coach Mike Malone. "It is an ankle thing and he is doubtful for [Tuesday's game against the Lakers]." With Harris on the sidelines, Jameer Nelson could enter the starting lineup and Will Barton will see some increased opportunity with the second unit. Jamal Murray could also get into the rotation, although he only managed to get on the court for five minutes on Monday despite the game being a blowout. Rotoworld.com Monday, 4:41 pm
  • Nikola Jokic pours in career-high 30 points
Nikola Jokic was unstoppable in the Nuggets blowout victory over Orlando Monday night, scoring a career-high 30 points to go along with 11 rebounds, five assists, three steals and a 3-pointer.

Advice: Jokic joins Carmelo Anthony as just the second Nugget to tally at least 30 points, 10 boards, five assists and three steals in a single game over the last 25 years. However, this performance isn't a complete surprise because, despite playing through a nagging wrist injury that may require offseason surgery, Jokic has been an absolute beast of late. He is now averaging 21.6 points, 9.5 rebounds and 6.3 assists over the Nuggets last seven games. Rotoworld.com Monday, 4:32 pm
  • Myles Turner scores 18 w/ four blocks
Myles Turner scored 18 points with 12 rebounds, four blocks and one assist in Monday's win over the Pelicans.

Advice: Turner held his own against Anthony Davis and turned in one of the best lines of the night so far, but he did shoot just 7-of-17 from the field and 3-of-6 from the line. Turner was shooting 80.9 percent from the line prior to Monday, so cut him some slack this time around. This was Turner's third game of the season with 18+ points, 12+ rebounds and 4+ blocks, second to only Anthony Davis (6) and Hassan Whiteside (5). Rotoworld.com Monday, 4:26 pm
  • Clint Capela (knee) feeling good in workouts
Clint Capela (knee) said that he's been sprinting and dunking during recent workouts, and it all felt good.

Advice: Capela has been out of commission since Dec. 17, but he could return to the court for Tuesday's game against the Heat. The Rockets will make an official determination on his status following Tuesday morning's shootaround, but he's close enough to a return that he should be stashed in most leagues. He'll likely be eased back into things after the lengthy layoff, but once he's fully up to speed, Montrezl Harrell will lose most of his value. Rotoworld.com Monday, 3:42 pm
  • Jameer Nelson starts the 2nd half sans Harris
Jameer Nelson started the second half of Monday's game against the Magic.

Advice: Gary Harris suffered a right ankle injury just three minutes into the game and will not return, which prompted Nelson's move into the starting five. He has started in the past when Harris has hit the sidelines, so he could see a decent boost in value if Harris is forced into an extended absence, as should Jamal Murray and Will Barton. We'll let you know how Nelson does after the game. Rotoworld.com Monday, 3:27 pm
  • Gary Harris (ankle) will not return Monday
Gary Harris (right ankle sprain) will not return to Monday's game against the Magic.

Advice: Ugh. Harris just hasn't been able to stay healthy this season, as he's had some major issues with his right leg. He's now missed time with a groin and foot injury (both to his right leg), and it's looking like this new ankle injury could again force him to the sidelines for at least a few games. Will Barton and Jamal Murray will benefit sans Harris, with Barton offering a bit more upside. The only positive here is that X-rays came back negative, but we should get a rough timetable after he undergoes an MRI. Rotoworld.com Monday, 2:45 pm
  • Gary Harris (groin) headed to the locker room
Gary Harris (right groin) is headed to the locker room.

Advice: Harris appeared to tweak his groin on a drive to the hoop, and after being evaluated on the bench, the Nuggets trainers decided to take him back to the locker room for further evaluation. It's worth noting that he was walking with a noticeable limp, which isn't the greatest sign. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com Monday, 2:26 pm
  • Rudy Gay double-doubles vs. Thunder
Rudy Gay scored 22 points with 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals, two blocks and two 3-pointers in 36 minutes on Sunday against the Thunder.

Advice: This was his second consecutive double-double and his fourth of the season. He continues to have a nice January, averaging 35.4 minutes, 19.4 points, seven rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.8 blocks per game. There is no reason to think he will slow down any time soon. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 9:16 pm
    Injured

  • Nikola Mirotic could return on Tuesday
Coach Fred Hoiberg is "hopeful" that Nikola Mirotic (illness) will play on Tuesday against Dallas.

Advice: Mirotic has missed four games due to the illness, which appears to be strep throat. Prior to the issue, he averaged 25.8 minutes, 10.8 points, four rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game in the month of January. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 4:43 pm
  • Nikola Jokic still dealing w/ left wrist pain
Nikola Jokic still doesn't have full range of motion in his left wrist, he continues to play through pain, and it's possible that he will need surgery after the season.

Advice: Jokic shed his wrist brace for Thursday's game and plans to play without it again on Monday, and the good news is that there's no suggestion of more DNPs. "I cannot go to push-up position," Jokic said. "[Doctors] said they could [perform surgery], but it wasn’t 100 percent that it would feel better." This isn't a comforting update for Jokic's owners, but he's been on fire lately and all signs point to him playing through his discomfort for the rest of the season. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 3:17 pm
  • Clint Capela (leg) could return on Tuesday
Clint Capela (leg) could return on Tuesday vs. the Heat or Wednesday vs. the Bucks.

Advice: He has missed about one month of action, but the big man is scheduled to go through practice on Monday. It's fair to assume that Capela will have restrictions right out of the gate, but he shouldn't be sitting on your waiver wire with season averages of 11.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.6 blocks. Montrezl Harrell is now a drop candidate in most leagues, while Nene loses a lot of value as well. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 8:11 am
  • Alec Burks will be in the rotation
Alec Burks said he's close to 100 percent after his eight-point game in 15 minutes on Saturday.

Advice: He said he's been waiting for this for "like a year" and he said he knew he was ready to play. Burks acknowledged he had a serious injury and he's still improving. He said he wanted to get to the rim more and he plans on doing that more as he gets more comfortable. With Rodney Hood (knee) possibly missing time, Burks is a speculative add in deep leagues. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 2:17 am
  • Dante Exum a non-factor vs. Orlando
Dante Exum scored two points in seven minutes with one assist in Saturday’s win against the Magic.

Advice: Exum appears to have fallen behind in Utah’s backcourt rotation. Alec Burks is back in the picture and played well tonight, so Exum could continue to struggle for playing time in the foreseeable future. He should not be owned in any format. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 9:18 pm
  • Alec Burks scores eight points in 14 mins
Alec Burks played 14 minutes and scored eight points with six rebounds, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer in Saturday’s 114-107 victory of the Magic.

Advice: Burks was recalled from the D-League on Jan. 12 and could hang around for a while, as Rodney Hood (knee) suffered a hyperextended knee in tonight’s game. He has only appeared in six games for the Jazz this season, but could see a larger role if Hood misses any time. He looked good tonight and can play multiple positions for Utah. That being said, for now, Burks can be left on waivers, but he is someone worth keeping an eye on. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 9:12 pm
  • Nikola Vucevic scores 15 points in 32 mins
Nikola Vucevic played 32 minutes, scoring 15 points with eight rebounds, three assists, three steals and one 3-pointer in Saturday’s loss to the Jazz.

Advice: Despite the tough matchup, Vuc was able to put together a nice performance. He continues to play significant minutes, playing 32 minutes in three consecutive games. In the month of January, he is averaging 30.1 minutes, 16.4 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. Orlando’s new approach on offense has not affected Vucevic in a negative way whatsoever. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 9:05 pm
  • Bismack Biyombo plays 15 minutes vs. Jazz
Bismack Biyombo missed all of his field goal attempts, scoring four points on 4-of-4 free throws, with four rebounds and one block in 15 minutes against the Jazz on Saturday.

Advice: It is very clear that going big is not an option for the Magic, as it has been an inefficient strategy. Plus, this is one of the best matchup for it, so it looks even worse for Biz. This has been a rough month for Biyombo, who averaged 20.1 minutes, 4.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists in January heading into this game. With Orlando going smaller, Biyombo appears to be the odd man out for the Magic and is a drop candidate unless you're in dire strait for blocks. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 8:41 pm
  • Elfrid Payton scores career-high 28 points
Elfrid Payton scored a career-high 28 points with nine assists, nine rebounds, two steals, one block and one 3-pointer in Saturday's 107-114 loss to the Jazz.

Advice: Payton took advantage of Evan Fournier (foot) being out tonight and thrived in a terrible matchup. There is a chance that Fournier misses the remainder of Orlando's road trip, so Payton could be in for a boost in production. He has been a volatile player thus far this season, but games like this put fantasy owners at ease. He probably should be added everywhere. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 8:39 pm
  • P.J. Tucker scores six points
P.J. Tucker scored six points with five rebounds, two assists, four steals and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes against the Spurs on Saturday.

Advice: He did get the business from Kawhi Leonard for most of this game, but Tucker came up big late to get the big win. He'll have some low-end value while the Suns are technically in playoff contention, but he's only a guy on deep-league radars. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 7:03 pm
  • Ka-Wow: Kawhi Leonard scores career-high 38
Kawhi Leonard exploded for a career-high 38 points during a 108-105 loss to the Suns in Mexico on Saturday, adding four rebounds, three assists, one steal and two 3-pointers.

Advice: It's almost shocking to see the Spurs lose a game when Kawhi turns in his best offensive game, but he got very little help. Leonard has now scored 30-plus points for three straight games for the first time in his career. Leonard is also three games shy of tying Tim Duncan's franchise record for consecutive games with double-digit scoring. Leonard has an absolutely absurd 77.9 true shooting percentage in his last three as the hottest scorer in the NBA. Oh and he's a good defender. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 6:42 pm
  • Rajon Rondo scores six points
Rajon Rondo scored six points off the bench against the Pelicans on Saturday, adding two rebounds, five assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 19 minutes.

Advice: He picked up 100 percent of the backup point guard minutes, but he did only play two minutes in the fourth quarter. Rondo is clearly behind Michael Carter-Williams for now, so the needle hasn't moved on his enough to add him in standard leagues. If you're desperate for a point guard in a deep league, feel free to give him a look to see if anything changes. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 5:50 pm
  • Alec Burks will be in the rotation
Alec Burks will be in the rotation with Joe Johnson (rest) out on Saturday against the Magic.

Advice: We saw Burks get five minutes on Friday night, but he didn't play well on the offensive side. The Jazz loved him at times last year with some point guard minutes, but he's in a tight spot for minutes. Leave him on the wire. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 4:49 pm
  • Raymond Felton scores 15 points vs. Lakers
Raymond Felton scored 15 points with two rebounds, four assists and one 3-pointer in 25 minutes against the Lakers on Saturday.

Advice: This wasn't really a garbage-time special for Felton in a very impressive game. He also played next to Chris Paul for eight minutes today, which is close to double his average in the 20 previous games they were paired together. Felton has been hanging around top-150 value in his last 10, but that's still close to his ceiling while CP3 is healthy. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 3:19 pm
  • Blake Griffin doing some running
Blake Griffin (knee) ran light sprints along the sideline at Staples Center during warm-ups on Saturday.

Advice: He is coming along nicely and remains on his 4-6 week timetable. Griffin has been taking some shots and there has been no sign of a setback. It may be a handful of games before he's back to his old self, but his owners may get him back within the next week. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 12:40 pm
    Injured

  • Nikola Mirotic ruled out for Sunday night
Nikola Mirotic (illness) will not play against the Grizzlies on Sunday.

Advice: He has a really, really bad case of something with now four games out of the lineup. Mirotic being out should open up minutes for Doug McDermott as the second-unit shooter, but McDermott has been awful lately. If things change on Saturday, maybe Bobby Portis gets a look. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 12:31 pm
  • Rajon Rondo remains in the rotation vs. NO
Rajon Rondo will remain in the rotation on Saturday against the Pelicans.

Advice: That means Jerian Grant is likely out of the rotation now that Jimmy Butler is back from illness. Rondo is still not worth owning, especially with the Bulls going with more no-PG lineups. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 12:27 pm
  • Andrew Bogut (hamstring) out indefinitely
Andrew Bogut (hamstring) will be out for "the near future," according to coach Rick Carlisle.

Advice: Bogut has had a very difficult time staying healthy, as this hamstring issue is simply his most recent ailment. Bogut has averaged just 18.4 minutes in the games he's appeared in over the last six weeks, so the fantasy impact of this news is actually not all that significant. Salah Mejri and Dwight Powell will soak up the minutes Bogut leaves behind. Carlisle also hinted he could start Seth Curry, so he's worth a pickup. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 10:36 am
  • Vucevic to be used exclusively at center
Coach Frank Vogel has confirmed that he will use Nikola Vucevic exclusively at center going forward.

Advice: Vogel also said that Serge Ibaka will see minutes as the back-up center, which will mean more minutes for Jeff Green at the four. The early returns on Vogel's change in approach have been promising, as Vucevic scored a season-high 30 points in the Magic's win on Friday. The odd man out in the new situation is Bismack Biyombo, who played only 16 minutes on Friday. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 7:13 am
  • Rudy Gay scores 23 points in loss to Cavs
Rudy Gay scored 23 points with 10 rebounds, two assists, four blocks and three 3-pointers in 35 minutes against the Cavs on Friday.

Advice: After all the time off due to a hip injury, Gay has turned it up over his last four. In that span, he averaged 18.8 points, 6.3 boards, 2.5 assists, 1.8 blocks, 1.3 steals and 1.8 treys. He should feast the rest of the way while he's on the Kings roster, but the trade rumors and rest will be a pain for his owners. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 10:50 pm
    Injured

  • Elfrid Payton scores 19 w/ seven assists
Elfrid Payton scored 19 points with seven assists, four rebounds, one steal, one block, one triple and five turnovers vs. the Blazers on Friday.

Advice: He was much better tonight after coming off three sub-par games in a row. Payton played 35 minutes compared to 17 for D.J. Augustin, but we'll need to see another workload like this before we can say he's no longer in a timeshare with Augustin. He shot 8-of-18 from the field and 2-of-2 from the line, but fantasy owners should be prepared for a possible dud on Saturday in a brutal matchup vs. George Hill and the Jazz. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 9:59 pm
  • Nikola Vucevic scores season-high 30 points
Nikola Vucevic scored a season-high 30 points in Friday's win over the Blazers.

Advice: He likes this starting thing and coach Frank Vogel confirmed this week that he will stick with him in the first unit going forward. Vucevic played 32 minutes and hit 13-of-18 shots with 10 rebounds, four assists, one steal and two blocks. He's trending in the right direction and should see a healthy workload on Saturday vs. Rudy Gobert and the Jazz. Bismack Biyombo only played 16 minutes and had two points, five rebounds and two turnovers. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 9:51 pm
  • Nikola Mirotic (illness) out for Saturday
Nikola Mirotic (illness) will not play against the Pelicans on Saturday.

Advice: This will be his third game out of the lineup with his very bad illness. With him out, it was Paul Zipser getting the start while Bobby Portis also saw some late minutes in a close game. Doug McDermott could also benefit, but he's been in a brutal slump. Mirotic is still a stash. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 2:29 pm
  • Klay Thompson hits 9-of-15 shots in win
Klay Thompson hit 9-of-15 shots, 4-of-5 3-pointers and 1-of-4 free throws for 23 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals in 36 minutes on Thursday.

Advice: He stayed in the blowout for most of the fourth quarter, while Stephen Curry watched from the bench. Thompson's a career 85 percent free throw shooter so you can bet he's not happy with his free throw performance tonight. But the rest of his game was on point and he looked great after getting a day of rest on Tuesday. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 10:17 pm
  • Kawhi Leonard scores 31 points on 13 FGAs
Kawhi Leonard was on fire early in a 134-94 win over the Lakers on Thursday, making 10-of-13 from the field for 31 points with two rebounds, two assists, two steals, three 3-pointers and no turnovers in just 26 minutes.

Advice: His 24 points in the first half was a career high and he also made 8-of-9 from the line for some magnificent efficiency. Leonard became the only player to score at least 30 points in fewer than 29 minutes in multiple games this season -- he scored 30 in 27 minutes on Dec. 10. His offense may have caught up to his defense. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 9:04 pm
  • Rajon Rondo plays 23 minutes in loss
Rajon Rondo played 23 minutes and hit just 2-of-9 shots for four points and eight assists in Thursday's loss to the Knicks.

Advice: The Bulls were awful in the third quarter and Fred Hoiberg went with his bench for most of the fourth. Rondo played seven more minutes than starter Michael Carter-Williams tonight, but it probably doesn't mean too much, as they were both outplayed by Jerian Grant. Rondo's poor shooting from both the field and the free throw line, along with his seven points per game, make him a shaky fantasy investment, unless you're desperate at point guard. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 8:04 pm
  • Nikola Vucevic will stick in starting unit
Nikola Vucevic will remain in the starting lineup for Friday against the Blazers.

Advice: Coach Frank Vogel said he wants to look at some smaller lineups -- say what? Whatever happens, Vucevic should be able to get minutes in the low 30s and shouldn't be affected by the rotation tweak. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 4:19 pm
  • Jusuf Nurkic plays just eight minutes
Jusuf Nurkic scored three points with two rebounds and one block in eight minutes against the Pacers on Thursday.

Advice: He played two-plus minutes in the first quarter and just under five-plus minutes in the second quarter. Kenneth Faried had it going as the five man and Nikola Jokic was terrific, so there wasn't an opportunity for Nurkic today. He's going to be inconsistent and is more of a stash with an uncertain role on the Nuggets. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 2:28 pm
  • Monta Ellis scores 12 points off bench
Monta Ellis scored 12 points with two rebounds, one assist and two steals in 27 minutes against the Nuggets on Thursday.

Advice: He's still wearing his mask and it doesn't seem to be affecting his confidence. Ellis saw a lot of run in garbage time today, which is a great sign of his minutes limit going away. Techincally, he doesn't have a limit, but Ellis played just 19.5 minutes per game over his previous four. He's had a bad season, so he's got some work to do to have value in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 2:22 pm
  • Klay Thompson will play on Thursday night
Klay Thompson will play against the Pistons on Thursday.

Advice: After getting Tuesday off, Thompson is ready to roll. "It was good for me in the long run," Thompson said about his rest. Even with Kevin Durant around, Thompson's usage rate has only dropped 1.2 percent from last year. His efficiency has also dropped due mostly to a dip in catch-and-shoot treys. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 12:25 pm
  • Andrew Bogut (hamstring) will not play vs PHX
Andrew Bogut (right hamstring strain) will not play against the Suns in Mexico City on Thursday.

Advice: He is still just day-to-day with his injury from Monday night. Bogut has been injury prone in his career, but he doesn't have a track record with hamstring injuries. Still, the Mavs will likely be careful with him and he could miss more time. With him out, Salah Mejri and Dwight Powell should be playing more. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 11:27 am
  • Rajon Rondo will be the sixth man on Thursday
Rajon Rondo will be the sixth man off the bench on Thursday vs. the Knicks.

Advice: Rondo was in the doghouse with five straight DNP-CDs, but he returned to the rotation on Tuesday vs. the Wizards and hit 6-of-13 shots for 12 points, four rebounds, six assists and three steals in 27 minutes. With Jimmy Butler (illness) out again, Rondo is looking at another decent workload. If you want to take a chance on him, now would be the time to pick him back up with three more games on the schedule this week. He will need another strong game in order to keep his spot in the rotation with Butler expected back on Saturday, but coach Fred Hoiberg did say that he wants Rondo to be the leader of the second unit moving forward. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 9:09 am
  • Clint Capela (leg) says he feels good
Clint Capela (leg) said he's feeling good and he remains on pace to return in the next week or two.

Advice: "My legs feel good. My quickness, I can run, stuff like that," Capela said. "Right now, I just take it day-after-day working out. I'm on schedule for four-to-six weeks (original timetable), like they said before. My workout is getting better, really better." As long as you're OK with his 44.6 percent shooting from the free throw line, Capela is worth stashing after averaging 11.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.6 blocks before going down. Montrezl Harrell will lose most of his value when Capela is cleared. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 6:48 am
  • Andrew Bogut (hamstring) still questionable
Andrew Bogut (hamstring) is still listed as questionable for Thursday's game vs. the Suns.

Advice: While the questionable tag is still there, it's also worth noting that he's listed as the probable starter. Bogut did say that he was not expecting to miss time, but the Mavs have been more cautious than usual this season. If Bogut does not play, coach Rick Carlisle will either turn to Salah Mejri or Dwight Powell. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 6:32 am
  • Alec Burks says he's making progress
Alec Burks said he feels like he is "back to where I was before I got hurt" after playing extended minutes in the D-Leauge on Wednesday.

Advice: "Yeah. I’m fast," Burks said. "That’s what I guess [the Jazz] wanted to see. When I found out my leg was good and steady and stable, I knew I was going to be back, as aggressive as I was." Burks scored 17 points, but only shot 5-of-17 from the floor and is still shaking off some rust. He's not expected to spend more time in the D-League, but it's going to be hard for him to find minutes on the Jazz as they have one of the deepest rosters in the West. He needs a trade in order to have value. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 6:13 am
  • Raymond Felton hits 4-of-6 shots in 16 mins
Raymond Felton came off the bench vs. Orlando on Wednesday, making 4-of-6 shots to finish with eight points and three boards in 17 minutes.

Advice: Felton started L.A.'s last game, but he returned to the second unit with Austin Rivers healthy tonight. Felton can be ignored in most leagues, but he's an interesting streaming play when injuries strike L.A.'s backcourt. Rotoworld.com Jan 11, 11:31 pm
  • Bismack Biyombo logs 16 minutes off bench
Bismack Biyombo came off Orlando's bench on Wednesday with four points, two rebounds, one steal and one block in 16 minutes.

Advice: The Magic offense wasn't a big issue tonight, but their usually stalwart defense wasn't up to the task in the 105-96 road loss (103.6 defensive rating). Biyombo has been a poor fantasy option all season, helping owners with boards and blocks, while dragging them down almost everywhere else. It doesn't matter much whether he's starting or coming off the bench. Rotoworld.com Jan 11, 11:01 pm
  • Nikola Vucevic has 16 & 12 in start Wednesday
Nikola Vucevic returned to the starting lineup on Wednesday, where he posted 16 points on 8-of-16 shooting with 12 rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal in 32 minutes of action.

Advice: Vucevic's owners should temper their excitement, because this could easily be a temporary move to compensate for the absence of Serge Ibaka (shoulder). Ibaka hopes to return on Friday, but even if he heads back to the bench there's reason for cautious optimism -- Vuc logged at least 30 minutes in three of his previous five games. Rotoworld.com Jan 11, 10:52 pm
  • Elfrid Payton (quad) benched for 4Q Wednesday
Elfrid Payton (bruised quad) started on Wednesday but he was benched down the stretch and finished with just six points (3-of-9 FGs, 0-of-2 FTs) with three assists, two boards and two turnovers in 23 minutes.

Advice: Payton didn't play in the fourth quarter tonight, as coach Frank Vogel opted for veterans C.J. Watson and D.J. Augustin in a tight game. Vogel recently said that his team "doesn't pass the ball instinctually very well," so Payton will have to get his teammates involved early and often to avoid these random benchings. He's now averaging 22.3 minutes in Orlando's past three games, and his owners have no choice but to stay patient. Rotoworld.com Jan 11, 10:32 pm
