    • To become free agent
The Pistons declined Umude's (ankle) team option for the 2024-25 season Saturday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.

Advice: Umude missed the end of the 2023-24 season with a hairline fracture in his ankle, and a timetable isn't currently known. According to Hoops Hype’s Michael Scotto, Damion Lee has decided to opt out of his player option with the Suns ahead of the 2024-25 season.

Advice: Lee missed all of last season with a meniscus tear and will look to pursue a new deal after taking all of 2023-24 to recover from surgery. He averaged 8.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game in his lone full season with Phoenix. Rotoworld Today, 3:07 pm

Lee (knee) declined his $2.85 million player option with the Suns on Saturday, and he will test unrestricted free agency, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.

Advice: Lee saw decent playing time in his first, and possibly last season with Phoenix. The 31-year-old averaged 8.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists across 20.4 minutes in 74 regular-season games. What was most impressive about Lee's game was his improved shot from range. The six-year NBA veteran set a career-high 44.5 percent from beyond the arc. Rotowire.com Today, 3:01 pm
    • Expected to leave Warriors
Thompson is expected to leave the Warriors in free agency, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The writing has been on the wall for some time, and the Warriors are prepared for this scenario according to Charania. There's been no dialogue between the two sides in regards to a contract and it appears both are ready to move on. Despite his age and recent injury history, Thompson is expected to have a strong market with the Mavericks, Lakers and Clippers all reported to be interested in his services. • Hits free agency
The Knicks did not extend a two-way qualifying offer to Brown (concussion) on Saturday, making him an unrestricted free agent, Fred Katz of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Brown played on a two-way contract with the Knicks last season, but made just eight appearances at the NBA level. He's likely to have a lukewarm market in free agency. Rotowire.com Today, 2:45 pm
    • Shams: Warriors nearing split with Klay Thompson
According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Golden State is prepared to lose Thompson ahead of the 2024-25 season.

Advice: Thompson’s contract negotiations with the Dubs hit a standstill last week and it appears like the two sides won’t be able to come to an agreement on a deal. The sharpshooter has drawn interest from several teams looking to add outside shooting and playoff experience. The Lakers, Clippers, and Mavericks stand out as frontrunners. Rotoworld Today, 2:45 pm
    • Memphis declines option
The Grizzlies have declined Kennard's (knee) $14.8 million team option Saturday, but both sides are eager to strike a new deal in free agency, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Advice: Kennard put up a decent year, during which he averaged 11.0 points, 3.5 assists and 2.9 rebounds across 25.6 minutes in 39 regular-season games. Although, the sharpshooter did what he does best while averaging 45.0 percent from three in limited time due to injury. The Grizzlies will look to bring Kennard back, and avoid the injury bug that plagued their club in the 2023-24 season. Rotowire.com Today, 2:42 pm
    • Woj: Paul George declining Clippers player option
According the ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Paul George has decided to decline his player option for the 2024-25 season.

Advice: George has long been exploring his potential landing spots for next season and is officially entering free agency. The 34-year-old wing is expected to meet with the Clippers and other suitors as he pursues a secure, multi-year contract. He’s been linked to several teams who hope to contend for a title in the near future and could find himself being no more than a second option on offense should he find a new home. • Jazz extends qualifying offer
The Jazz extended a qualifying offer to Juzang on Saturday, making him a restricted free agent, Tony Jones of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Juzang's role grew with the Jazz towards the end of the 2023-24 campaign, so it's not a surprise to see that they are interested in keeping the score-first guard around. Juzang spent a lot of time in the G League as well, but in his 20 appearances with the Jazz, he produced averages of 7.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.6 three-pointers.
