    • Rudy Gobert scores six points in return Friday
Rudy Gobert shot 3-of-5 from the field and 0-of-2 from the foul line in Minnesota’s Game 3 loss to the Nuggets, finishing with six points, four rebounds, and one assist in 27 minutes.

Advice: After missing Game 2 to be present for the birth of his first child, Gobert was back in the lineup for Game 3. He and the Timberwolves attempted to land a decisive blow early in Friday’s game but failed, and the reigning champions eventually pulled away. Neither Gobert nor Naz Reid (7/1/1/1 with one 3-pointer in 21 minutes) could do much with Nikola Jokic, who finished with a plus-30 rating. Gobert and the Timberwolves will look to take a 3-1 series lead on Saturday night. Rotoworld Friday, 9:33 pm
    • Quiet in Game 3 return
Gobert tallied six points (3-5 FG, 0-2 FT), four rebounds and one assist over 27 minutes in Friday's 117-90 loss to the Nuggets in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals.

Advice: Gobert returned in Game 3 after missing the previous contest due to the birth of his child, putting forth a quiet outing in Minnesota's first loss of the postseason. Gobert failed to reach double figures in both points and rebounds, not tallying 10 or more boards for the third time in the postseason and not crossing the double-digit scoring mark for the third time. In order for Minnesota to bounce back in Sunday's Game 4, Gobert may have to put together a much stronger showing than he did Friday in Minneapolis. Rotowire.com Friday, 9:14 pm
    • Rudy Gobert active Friday vs. Nuggets
Rudy Gobert is active for Friday’s Game 3 matchup between the Timberwolves and Nuggets.

Advice: Gobert is set to be back in the mix after missing one game for the birth of his child. His return will cut down Naz Reid’s involvement. Rotoworld Thursday, 3:19 pm
    • Good to go Friday
Gobert (personal) isn't on the injury report for Friday's Game 3 agains the Nuggets.

Advice: Gobert will return to action Friday after missing Game 2 due to the birth of his child. The newly crowned Defensive Player of the Year should reclaim his starting spot from Kyle Anderson in Game 3. Rotowire.com Thursday, 2:42 pm
    • Not close to full health
Antetokounmpo (calf) disclosed last Friday that he was "not close" to returning to the Bucks lineup before the team was eliminated from the playoffs May 2 in a 120-98 loss to the Pacers in Game 6 of the first-round series, Jamal Collier of ESPN.com reports. "I did all the tests I had to do, these like protocols you have to follow and have to check the boxes," Antetokounmpo said. "I wasn't even close at checking the boxes."

Advice: Though head coach Doc Rivers had suggested last week that Antetokounmpo was close to being available to play after missing the final three games of the regular season with a left soleus strain, Rivers' comments may have been an act of gamesmanship. Antetokounmpo ultimately missed all six playoff contests, and his absence likely would have extended into the Eastern Conference semifinal round if the Bucks had advanced, as the 29-year-old estimated that he was running at about 30 or 40 percent speed. He should be closer to full health by the end of May, but Antetokounmpo likely won't have a full offseason to rest up, as he had previously expressed a desire to play for the Greek national team in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Greece will have to first earn a spot in the Olympics through a qualification tournament that will take place in the first week of July, so confirmation on whether Antetokounmpo is healthy should come shortly before that time. • Wins Defensive Player of the Year
The NBA announced Tuesday that Gobert (personal) has been named the 2023-24 Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year.

Advice: Gobert has now tied Dikembe Mutombo and Ben Wallace for the most DPOY awards in NBA history with four. Gobert was the anchor Minnesota's defense, which boasted a league-best 108.4 defensive rating. The defensive stalwart's 2.1 blocks per game ranked sixth in the NBA while his 12.9 rebounds per contest ranked second. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 3:44 pm
    • To miss Game 2
Gobert (personal) has been ruled out for Monday's Game 2 against the Nuggets, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Gobert was added to the team's injury report earlier in the day due to a personal matter, and he's since been downgraded to out after Charania confirmed the birth of Gobert's first child. Look for Naz Reid, who put up 16 points in Game 1, and Kyle Anderson to see an increased workload in the frontcourt Monday night. Rotowire.com Monday, 5:36 pm
    • Rudy Gobert (personal) downgraded to out Monday
Rudy Gobert (personal reasons) will not play in Monday’s Game 2 against the Nuggets.

Advice: While there were some questions regarding whether Gobert could make it back to Denver in time for Game 2 after being present for the birth of his child, Timberwolves coach Chris Finch said he would not play. Naz Reid will play more minutes, likely as a starter, and Minnesota needs Karl-Anthony Towns to avoid committing silly fouls. Kyle Anderson should also experience an increase in playing time. Rotoworld Monday, 5:32 pm
    • Rudy Gobert (personal) questionable Monday
Rudy Gobert is questionable for Monday’s matchup with Denver due to personal reasons.

Advice: Minnesota took Game 1 on the road in Denver on Saturday, and Gobert’s absence would create a major hole in the Wolves’ roster for Game 2. If he’s ultimately unable to go, expect Naz Reid and Kyle Anderson to see bumps in playing time to fill the void. Rotoworld May 6, 10:59 am
