  • Zach LaVine ties season-low in 33 minutes
Zach LaVine tied a season-low with four points on Sunday, making 2-of-8 field goals without any free throw attempts in 33 minutes.

Advice: He didn't make up for it in other categories, adding just two rebounds, one assist and one steal, but the Wolves' ball-movement wasn't exemplary tonight. LaVine's playing time is never in doubt, and fantasy owners should expect a better return during a three-game week vs. the Suns, Pacers and Nets. Rotoworld.com Today, 7:38 pm
  • Dunn Deal: Kris Dunn starts, racks up 10/9/8
Kris Dunn thrived as a starter in place of Ricky Rubio (personal) on Sunday, finishing with 10 points, nine assists, eight rebounds, three steals, one block and two 3-pointers in 34 minutes.

Advice: Dunn averaged just 4.4 points on 28.0 percent shooting in five starts earlier this season, but he's come a long way since then, and tonight's assists and rebounds were both career-highs. Rubio suffered a hip injury recently, and he's a prime trade target, all of which makes Dunn an appealing stash both short- and long-term, especially after tonight's showing. Rotoworld.com Today, 7:28 pm
  • Jusuf Nurkic picks up DNP-CD vs. Wolves
Jusuf Nurkic was an apparent DNP-CD vs. the Wolves on Sunday.

Advice: Darrell Arthur was terrific in 21 minutes off the bench, and the Wolves ran with plenty of small lineups, so there wasn't much room for Nurk in the rotation tonight. He's no stranger to disappearing acts (having averaged 3.3 points prior to Saturday's 12-point game), and his owners can only hope for a trade to a better situation. Rotoworld.com Today, 7:12 pm
  • Jamal Murray scores 17 points as backup PG
Jamal Murray was terrific in 20 minutes during Sunday's loss, scoring 17 points with five rebounds, three assists, one steal and just one turnover.

Advice: The rookie played some point guard tonight and looked good doing it, although he was marginalized down the stretch in favor of (ineffective) veteran Jameer Nelson. Murray is shooting 36.9 percent on the season, with minimal supporting stats, so there's no need to own him while Emmanuel Mudiay (back) is day-to-day. Rotoworld.com Today, 6:52 pm
  • Gary Harris (ankle) scores 22 points vs. MIN
Gary Harris (ankle) scored a team-high 22 points with six rebounds, three assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 35 minutes on Sunday against the Timberwolves.

Advice: Harris returned after missing three games with a sprained right ankle and did not appear to have any lingering effects. He was supposed to be on minutes restrictions tonight, but the 35 minutes he played suggests otherwise. The 22 points were the most he has scored in a game since Dec. 19. With Harris back in the lineup and playing his full allotment of minutes, Will Barton played 26 minutes and Jamal Murray played 20 minutes. Rotoworld.com Today, 6:49 pm
  • Marquese Chriss plays 17 minutes vs. Raptors
Marquese Chriss scored four points with one rebound, two steals and one block in 17 minutes on Sunday against the Raptors.

Advice: Dragan Bender (ankle), who has been cutting into Chriss' minutes, exited tonight's game with an ankle injury. If he misses any time, Chriss could be in for a boost in minutes. That being said, he is a stash at best at this time. Rotoworld.com Today, 6:17 pm
  • Jonas Valanciunas gets 16 & 12 w/ three blks
Jonas Valanciunas double-doubled in 31 minutes on Sunday, scoring 16 points with 12 rebounds, three blocks, one steal and only one turnover.

Advice: This is the first time all season that JV has blocked more than two shots. He also grabbed four of his boards on the offensive end, while handing out two assists for good measure. Head coach Dwane Casey has been pleased with his team's rebounding when JV and Lucas Nogueira are both starting, so it's possible that duo will continue to start even after Patrick Patterson (knee) is healthy and Jared Sullinger (foot) is up to speed. Either way, Valanciunas is a safe every-night starter in season-long leagues. Rotoworld.com Today, 6:00 pm
  • Norman Powell silent off Raptors' bench
Norman Powell shifted to the Raptors' bench on Sunday, finishing a tough loss vs. the visiting Suns with four points and one assist in six minutes.

Advice: Powell's typical role isn't conducive to fantasy value, so he's not a good guy to own while the roster is near full strength. Leave him on the wire unless you find his season averages useful -- 6.0 points, 0.6 threes, 1.6 boards, 0.9 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.2 blocks. Rotoworld.com Today, 5:59 pm
  • T.J. Warren has a quiet night vs. Toronto
T.J. Warren scored four points with three rebounds and one assist in 21 minutes in Sunday's 115-103 win over the Raptors.

Advice: Warren played the fewest minutes since Jan. 3, while P.J. Tucker played 32 minutes tonight. Two days ago, ESPN’s Marc Stein confirmed the Suns are looking for a first-round pick in a P.J. Tucker deal. It appears that Phoenix was showcasing Tucker tonight, which led to fewer minutes for Warren. If Tucker gets traded, Warren could trend upwards, and we had a vivid look at his upside earlier in the season. Rotoworld.com Today, 5:53 pm
  • Kyle Lowry ejected after 15 points on 17 FGs
Kyle Lowry was ejected late on Sunday after getting a Flagrant-2 foul, finishing the game with 15 points, six assists, four rebounds and one steal in 37 minutes.

Advice: Lowry shot 5-of-17 from the field including a 1-of-9 mark from deep. He's also up to eight techs on the season, tied for sixth-most in the league, and it simply wasn't a good night for the Raptors, Lowry, or his fantasy owners. Unfortunately, he heads into a pair of brutal back-to-back games vs. the Spurs (Tuesday) and Grizzlies (Wednesday). Rotoworld.com Today, 5:52 pm
  • Dragan Bender (ankle) will not return vs. TOR
Dragan Bender (ankle) will not return to Sunday’s game against the Raptors.

Advice: Bender had zero points with one assist and one rebound in four minutes prior to exiting. He has been receiving some extra run as of late, averaging 18.5 minutes per game in his four previous games. Marquese Chriss stands to gain the most if the injury costs Bender any time. Rotoworld.com Today, 4:39 pm
  • Jeremy Lin (hamstring) ruled out for Monday
Jeremy Lin (hamstring) won't play vs. the Spurs on Monday.

Advice: Lin has missed 31 games and counting, after missing just 23 games prior to this season during his NBA career. There's no indication of when he might get back on the court, and his absence could be due to more than just his hamstring injury, so he's a hard guy to hold without an IR spot. • Lakers suffer worst loss in franchise history
Brandon Ingram struggled in a start at PG on Sunday, going 2-of-12 from the field and 2-of-3 from the line on his way to six points, one board, one steal, three turnovers and zero assists in 36 minutes.

Advice: Ingram air-balled his first shot, and just never really got things going after that, but he wasn't the only guy to struggle today as only two Lakers (Jordan Clarkson and Lou Williams) managed to crack double-digits in the scoring department. Nick Young finished with nine points, two boards, one triple and one assist, and Julius Randle put up nine points, six boards, four assists, one steal and three turnovers in the blowout. The Lakers lost by 49 points today, their worst loss in franchise history. Rotoworld.com Today, 3:51 pm
  • Norman Powell will come off the bench Sunday
Norman Powell will return to the bench for Sunday's game against the Suns.

Advice: Lucas Nogueira (concussion) is back in the starting five, so Powell's minutes could fall back to the teens. He's not a great option in most leagues. Rotoworld.com Today, 2:56 pm
  • Gary Harris (ankle) will start Sunday vs. MIN
Gary Harris (ankle) will start Sunday's game vs. the Timberwolves, sending Will Barton back to the bench.

Advice: Harris will be returning from a three-game stint on the sidelines, and he'll be on a minutes limit, but he offers enough upside that he should be scooped up in most leagues if he was cut during the injury. With Harris on a minutes limit, Barton shouldn't take too drastic of a hit, but once he's fully up to speed both Barton and Jamal Murray will lose some minutes. Rotoworld.com Today, 2:36 pm
  • Kris Dunn will start Sunday vs. Denver
Kris Dunn will move into the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Nuggets, with Ricky Rubio (personal) unavailable.

Advice: Dunn hasn't really had a coming out game yet at the NBA level, but he's going to get a ton of opportunity tonight with a favorable matchup against the Nuggets and no Rubio around to mess with his minutes. He's on the radar as a potential streamer punt play in DFS. Tyus Jones should also see some extended minutes off the bench tonight. Rotoworld.com Today, 2:21 pm
  • Joe Harris (left ankle) ruled out for Monday
Joe Harris (left ankle) will not play Monday vs. the Spurs.

Advice: This will be Harris' second straight game on the sidelines, which could result in Sean Kilpatrick earning another start with Caris LeVert logging extended minutes with the second unit. Both Kilpatrick and LeVert will be on the radar in daily leagues, and LeVert presents enough upside you can justify stashing him in most formats. Harris belongs on the waiver wire everywhere. Rotoworld.com Today, 1:13 pm
  • Report: CHI actively shopping Nikola Mirotic
The Bulls are reportedly actively shopping Nikola Mirotic.

Advice: The Bulls are clinging to the No. 8 spot in the Eastern Conference seeding, and they're hoping a roster shake up can boost their spot in the standings. Mirotic could technically see an uptick in value if he lands in a situation where he can start, but even when he's starting, consistency is always an issue. If Mirotic does end up getting traded and the Bulls don't bring another big back, Taj Gibson and Bobby Portis would see a boost in value. Rotoworld.com Today, 1:06 pm
  • Report: CHI actively shopping Rondo, Mirotic
The Bulls are reportedly actively shopping Rajon Rondo and Nikola Mirotic, although thus far, GM Gar Forman has not seen an offer he deems a worthy return.

Advice: "Obviously, you knew that would be the case with Rondo," an unnamed source said. "But they don’t like what they’re hearing back on [Mirotic] either. Then again, that’s a [front office] that tends to overvalue its assets." With how low Rondo's value is right now around the league, the Bulls may be forced to outright cut him in order to get him off the roster, but until he's wearing a different jersey he won't be worth owning in standard leagues. Mirotic is consistently inconsistent, and a change to the name across the front of his uniform may not be able to change that. Rotoworld.com Today, 12:58 pm
  • Nikola Vucevic scores 12 points in 24 minutes
Nikola Vucevic scored 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting Sunday, to go with four boards, two steals, one assist, one block and zero turnovers in 24 minutes.

Advice: Vucevic’s name is beginning to surface in the rumor mill, and a trade seems likely given his awkward fit in Orlando’s overly crowded frontcourt. He’s currently averaging the least amount of minutes (28.1) per game since his rookie year, so a trade away from Orlando could certainly improve his value. He has some buy-low appeal. Rotoworld.com Today, 11:44 am
  • Kevin Durant scores 15 points with full line
Kevin Durant posted his 17th double-double of the season on Sunday, racking up 15 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, one 3-pointer, three steals, two blocks and one turnover in 29 minutes.

Advice: If there’s one negative thing we could say about Durant, it’s that he’s been a pretty awful screen setter for the Dubs this season. Luckily, screen setting is not a category in fantasy hoops, and in all that statistical categories that matter, The Duranchula is an absolute monster. He's hitting career-highs in boards (8.5), blocks (1.7) and field goal percentage (54.6) which are just a few reasons why he ranks No. 1 overall this year. Rotoworld.com Today, 11:30 am
  • J.J. Barea likely out until All-Star break
J.J. Barea (left calf strain) is likely out until the All-Star break according to coach Rick Carlisle.

Advice: This isn't a surprise because Barea can't seem to shake this calf issue. With Barea out, Deron Williams and Seth Curry are locked into a heavy workload for the foreseeable future and should be owned in standard leagues. Devin Harris will also play more, but he's not an attractive fantasy asset. Rotoworld.com Today, 11:07 am
  • Rudy Gay (Achilles) to have surgery Monday
Rudy Gay will undergo surgery to repair his ruptured left Achilles tendon on Monday.

Advice: Gay has already been ruled out for the season. The Kings have lost five straight games and are in danger of falling out of the playoff hunt, and they will have to rely on Garrett Temple and Matt Barnes to fill the void left by Gay. He was expected to decline his player option for the 2017-18 season, so it will be interesting to see if this injury changes his plans. We won't have a timetable until Monday afternoon at the earliest. Rotoworld.com Today, 9:36 am

  • Gary Harris (ankle) questionable for Sunday
Gary Harris (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Wolves.

Advice: He was said to be targeting a return on Tuesday, but he now has an outside chance to play against the Wolves. If Harris decides to give it a go, that will lower the ceiling of Will Barton and Jamal Murray could lose minutes. Keep in mind that Emmanuel Mudiay (back) is out, so that might be why Harris is thinking about giving it a go. Rotoworld.com Today, 8:14 am
  • P.J. Tucker not worried about potential trade
P.J. Tucker said he's not concerned about a potential trade.

Advice: "It’s part of business,'' Tucker said. "Contract year. Being a defensive player, a lot of teams are looking to make an addition to fight for a championship. But for me, it’s just focusing on being with my team and trying to win games. It happens every contract year. A lot of talk. A lot of it’s just rumors and people talking, but you never know in business. You just try to stay ready and block it out." The Suns are hoping to get a first-round pick in return for Tucker, and so far the Clippers, Bulls, Cavaliers, Timberwolves and Hawks are all rumored to have some interest. To be clear, Tucker would lose most of his fantasy value on all of those teams. Rotoworld.com Today, 6:27 am
  • Tristan Thompson returned to action on Saturday January 21. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:48 pm
  • Rajon Rondo scored zero points in six minutes
Rajon Rando was held scoreless in six minutes on Saturday against the Kings.

Advice: Rondo did not attempt any shots, but dished out four assists and got a steal. The fact that he played just six minutes, despite Michael Carter-Williams struggling, has to be concerning. It appears that Rondo will not have a big role in Chicago in the foreseeable future and only a trade will help his fantasy value. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:47 pm
  • Nurkic has terrific game vs. Clipers
Jusuf Nurkic scored 12 points with five rebounds, three assists and no turnovers in 20 minutes against the Clippers on Saturday.

Advice: Only six of these minutes were in garbage time, so this may be one of the most encouraging games for Nurkic in a while. He gets a good matchup on paper against the larger Wolves frontline and the Nuggets seem committed to playing Kenneth Faried at the four most of the time. Nurkic still isn't a hot add and really needs a trade to reach his potential. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:44 pm
  • Jamal Murray set for more minutes
Jamal Murray scored five points with one rebound, three assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 19 minutes against the Clippers on Saturday.

Advice: He has said he wants to play point guard and he'll get his wish now to back up Jameer Nelson with Emmanuel Mudiay (back) out for Sunday. Gary Harris (ankle) is also out, so Murray should be looking at close to 27 minutes as the combo guard against the Wolves. He's not playing well enough to add in most leagues, though. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:39 pm
  • Raymond Felton scores 14 off the bench
Raymond Felton made 6-of-17 from the field for 14 points off the bench against the Nuggets during a 123-98 loss on Saturday, adding three rebounds, three assists and two 3-pointers in 30 minutes.

Advice: He did start the second half because the Nuggets ran all over them with their bigger lineup including Mo Speights. Felton should be moving back into the starting lineup against the Hawks on Monday and should be able to flirt with top-100 value while Chris Paul (thumb) is out. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:28 pm
  • Nikola Mirotic scores 11 points in win
Nikola Mirotic scored 11 points with five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer in Saturday's 102-99 victory over the Kings.

Advice: It was his best game since returning from illness, but nothing to be too excited about. He can frustrate owners with his volatility. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:23 pm
  • Clint Capela plays 16 minutes on Saturday
Clint Capela came off the bench and had five points, four rebounds, two assists and one block in just 16 minutes on Saturday.

Advice: Capela blew up for 22 points and 12 boards in 21 minutes on Friday, but his minutes cut is understandable in a back-to-back situation with him coming off a broken leg. In any case, Capela's arrow is pointing up, while Montrezl Harrell's is pointing down. As long as Capela doesn't suffer a setback, you have to think he'll be back in the starting unit by the end of the upcoming week, if not much sooner. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:05 pm
  • Kyle Anderson gets 18 minutes
Kyle Anderson played 18 minutes against the Cavs on Saturday with two points, four rebounds, one assist, four steals and two blocks.

Advice: The Spurs when with a small-ball four and it really worked out. Anderson was a +19 in the plus-minus stat and he was out there on the last play, as well. Anderson could get decent run on Monday against the Nets, but obviously we're not adding him. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:00 pm
  • P.J. Tucker scores 15 off Suns bench
P.J. Tucker played 36 minutes and hit 6-of-10 shots and two 3-pointers for 15 points, three rebounds, two assists and three steals in Saturday's win over the Knicks.

Advice: We got good Tucker tonight, but he had scored eight or fewer points in his previous four games. He's getting heavy minutes and is worth keeping an eye on going forward, but we'll need to see more games like this one before getting too excited. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:35 pm
  • T.J. Warren disappears in win over New York
T.J. Warren hit just 2-of-6 shots for four points, three rebounds and two assists in Saturday's win over the Knicks.

Advice: He was in foul trouble and finished with four of them, but the minutes were there for him to have a better night than this. He was coming off of games of 18, 15 and 12 points, so tonight was a definite disappointment. He was just starting to come back to life, but this was just one game, so let's see if he rights the ship against the Raptors on Sunday. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:22 pm
  • Marquese Chriss scores 15 in win over Knicks
Marquese Chriss hit 6-of-10 shots and two 3-pointers on his way to 15 points, five rebounds and three steals in 22 minutes of Saturday's win over the Knicks.

Advice: That's a nice stat line, but the minutes are still a concern and he's played exactly 22 of them in three straight games, and 23 or fewer in five straight. He'd been struggling with his shot over his last three, hitting just 7-of-22 which resulted in point totals of 6, 5, 5 in those games. He was great tonight, but until he gets at least 25 minutes a game, he's going to be a tough player to roster in 12-team leagues. Just keep an eye on him. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:17 pm
  • Raymond Felton moving to the bench
Raymond Felton will come off the bench against the Nuggets on Saturday.

Advice: He won't be getting a revenge game as a starter. It makes some sense because the Clippers have to figure out what to do with their bench and they need another big out there against Kenneth Faried -- Luc Mbah a Moute should guard Danilo Gallinari. Felton's owners shouldn't panic here. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 5:31 pm
  • Gary Harris could play Tuesday
Gary Harris (ankle) could play on Tuesday.

Advice: He did some pre-game shooting and looks to be progressing. Harris is not going to play on Sunday unless something crazy happens and he's still not a lock for Tuesday. With him out Will Barton is a must-start player while Jamal Murray benefits in very deep leagues. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 4:38 pm
  • Gary Harris (ankle) out at least 2 more games
Gary Harris (right ankle sprain) will miss at least the next two games, but Denver is hoping he can return early next week.

Advice: Harris has missed each of the last three games, and will miss two more, but the Nuggets are reportedly hoping to get Harris back for their game Tuesday vs. the Jazz. Will Barton had a good game (18 points, seven assists, three rebounds in 36 minutes) starting in place of Harris on Thursday. Jamal Murray (13 points six rebounds, two 3-pointers in 26 minutes) also played well off the bench. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:14 am
  • Joe Harris (ankle) ruled out Saturday
Joe Harris (sprained left ankle) has been ruled out of Saturday's game vs. Charlotte.

Advice: Harris played just 13 minutes despite starting at shooting guard on Friday night. Harris' absence will open up more minutes for rising rookie Caris LeVert, who is coming off a terrific game. LeVert made all six shots from the field and both free throws for 17 points against the Pelicans on Friday, adding five rebounds and six assists. Sean Kilpatrick (rest) is expected to return to the Nets lineup on Saturday, but LeVert should still be looking at least 25 minutes. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:27 am
  • J.J. Barea (calf) ruled out for Sunday
As expected, J.J. Barea (left calf strain) has been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Lakers.

Advice: Barea is dealing with yet another leg injury. We are awaiting further info, but he is expected to miss at least a week or two. He hurt himself going up for a jumper late in Friday's game. "After a shot, I went to step to the side, and I think I ran into the fans behind me and the fans sitting down," Barea said. "I looked back, but nobody touched me. When I went to step, that’s when I knew something was wrong with my calf." Seth Curry will be the primary beneficiary while Barea is sidelined, which make Curry a high-probity waiver add. Devin Harris also will see a bump up in minutes. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 6:23 am
  • Brandon Ingram scores 15 w/ 3 steals, 3 treys
Brandon Ingram scored 15 points with seven rebounds, two assists, three steals and three 3-pointers in Friday's win over the Pacers.

Advice: Coach Luke Walton was impressed after the game and said Ingram is "progressing faster than a typical 19-year-old rookie." Ingram made another start in place of Luol Deng (wrist) tonight and hit 6-of-14 shots from the field in 33 minutes, so it looks like it's time to pick him up. Deng is likely day-to-day even though initial reports suggested he would be out a while, but Ingram should see plenty of minutes going forward no matter what. Rotoworld.com Friday, 11:07 pm
  • Nikola Mirotic scores five points
Nikola Mirotic made 1-of-6 from the field for five points with four rebounds, two assists and five fouls in 17 minutes against the Hawks on Friday.

Advice: When Bad Mirotic shows up, he shows up in emphatic fashion. These are the breaks with him, but he is still worth owning in standard leagues unless there is an irresistible free agent out there. Rotoworld.com Friday, 10:44 pm
  • Rajon Rondo scores two points
Rajon Rondo scored two points with three rebounds, three assists and three steals in 18 minutes against the Hawks on Friday.

Advice: He was in the rotation, but he's been flat out awful. Rondo can't make free throws, he can't finish at the rim and he's had some defensive issues. We saw Rondo have a really nice season last year, so maybe a trade can get him going. We don't suggest stashing him in most cases. Rotoworld.com Friday, 10:33 pm
  • Kevin Durant scores 32 points in win at HOU
Kevin Durant was on his A game during a 125-108 win in Houston on Friday, making 12-of-19 from the field for 32 points with four rebounds, seven assists, two steals, two blocks and two 3-pointers.

Advice: He was just awesome on the defensive end in what has been an underrated part of his game in his career. The Warriors also made all of their shots off KD passes today. Obviously, it's about his offense and you may need a microscope to spot a KD slump. Durant has turned in a true shooting percentage below 60 in two consecutive games in just one instance this year. That and the stats across the board make him fantasy's No. 1 player this season. Rotoworld.com Friday, 10:28 pm
  • Clint Capela scores career-high 22 points
Clint Capela showed he was close to 100 percent against the Warriors on Friday, scoring a career-high 22 points with 12 rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 21 minutes.

Advice: We'll keep this one simple here. If Capela is somehow on your waiver wire, go fix that right now and pick him up. Rotoworld.com Friday, 9:49 pm
  • Joe Harris gets just 13 minutes
Joe Harris played just 13 minutes with eight points, two rebounds, three assists and two 3-pointers against the Pelicans on Friday.

Advice: That's some low playing time with his backup, Sean Kilpatrick (rest), not playing today. Caris LeVert is coming for his minutes, so Harris is trending down for owners who had him in super deep leagues. Rotoworld.com Friday, 9:10 pm
  • J.J. Barea expected to miss multiple weeks
J.J. Barea (left calf) is expected to miss weeks due to his calf injury from Friday night.

Advice: Coach Rick Carlisle was not encouraged after the game. "Same calf, different area. Unlucky. It's gonna be a while," Carlisle said. That means Barea has now suffered three different injuries to his lower left leg with a previous calf strain and another Achilles problem before that. The Mavs likely have to shut him down at least to help his career long term. He's a drop candidate. Meanwhile, go get Seth Curry in all leagues while Devin Harris also benefits. Rotoworld.com Friday, 8:45 pm
  • J.J. Barea (left leg) goes to the locker room
J.J. Barea suffered a lower left leg injury in the fourth quarter and went to the locker room.

Advice: He went up for a jump shot and just over-extended his calf or Achilles. This is the same leg that has cost him several games in multiple stints this year, so he's almost a lock to miss time. Make sure Seth Curry isn't on your waiver wire. Rotoworld.com Friday, 7:57 pm
  • Norm Powell in a rough patch right now
Norman Powell got the start on Friday against the Hornets with only four points, four rebounds and one turnover in 26 minutes.

Advice: Ouch. Powell has really been struggling and we thought it might be due to a lack of a role, but he certainly didn't come through here. The starting lineup was all about the matchup and the lack of power forwards, so leave Powell on the wire here. Rotoworld.com Friday, 6:44 pm
  • Kyle Lowry scores 24 with little else
Kyle Lowry scored 24 points with one rebound, three assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in 34 minutes against the Hornets on Friday.

Advice: It's not a terrible game, but his DFS owners probably had higher hopes with the All-Star snub revenge narrative. Before this game, Lowry had a ridiculous 72.7 true shooting percentage since Thanksgiving and several metrics had him as the best player in the East. He'll have plenty of big lines coming. Rotoworld.com Friday, 6:22 pm
  • Norman Powell starting over Pascal Siakam
Norman Powell will start and Pascal Siakam will move to the bench against the Hornets on Friday.

Advice: With the Raptors thin on power forwards, it makes sense. This will allow DeMarre Carroll to guard a smaller four in Marvin Williams to open up minutes for Powell and Terrence Ross. Powell has been great as a starter, but he's still a slight risk to use even at his cheap price. Carroll is good to go. Rotoworld.com Friday, 3:38 pm
  • Gary Harris listed as out for Saturday
Gary Harris (right ankle sprain) is listed as out for Saturday against the Clippers.

Advice: That makes it three games for Harris, who was hurt on Monday. Harris is having a really rough season, but his owners should still try to hang in there. In the meantime, Will Barton is going to get some serious run as the starter with Jamal Murray backing him up. Rotoworld.com Friday, 1:08 pm
  • Stein confirms report on P.J. Tucker
ESPN's Marc Stein confirmed the Suns are looking for a first-round pick in a P.J. Tucker deal.

Advice: This coincides with a local Arizona report, saying the Suns still have some interest in trying to resign Tucker. In a good portion of coach Earl Watson's post-game interviews, he talks about Tucker helping the team's identity, so the coach clearly likes having him around the young players. If Tucker is dealt, T.J. Warren would be a big winner while the Suns may get a look at Dragan Bender playing more three. Rotoworld.com Friday, 12:14 pm
  • Magic offered up Vooch for Dragic?
The Magic reportedly offered Nikola Vucevic and a future first-round pick for Goran Dragic, but the Heat had "no interest" in the offer, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

Advice: Interesting. On the Heat side, they already have a max-deal center, so adding another high-cost big man in a smaller-ball system makes little sense. For Orlando, this is basically the Magic doubling down on what they did with Serge Ibaka, hoping the player they trade for will resign with them. Presumably, this future first is not for the 2017 draft because the Magic are not good and are likely to be lottery bound. Vucevic is in a great spot for his value right now, so a potential trade could hurt his fantasy stock. Rotoworld.com Friday, 11:34 am
  • Report: Jusuf Nurkic 'sure' to be traded
According to Marc Stein of ESPN, Jusuf Nurkic is "sure" to be traded prior to the February trade deadline.

Advice: Per Stein: "Sources say that the Nuggets, having acknowledged that Nikola Jokic and Nurkic didn't click as a pairing, are actively working to find Nurkic a new home that would give him the chance he deserves to be a front-line center." A trade is necessary to revive Nurkic's dying fantasy value. With Jokic playing at an incredibly high level, Nurk simply wastes away on the Denver bench. A trade would be best for all parties involved. It would also clear out more minutes for Kenneth Faried. Rotoworld.com Friday, 10:04 am
  • Brandon Ingram adding extra shooting sessions
Brandon Ingram has added extra shooting sessions before practice and before games in an effort to improve his shooting stroke and offensive efficiency.

Advice: "If you put in the work, your numbers will get better," coach Luke Walton said. "It’s that simple. He continues to put in the work." The work has already started to pay off. Over the first 37 games of his rookie season, Ingram averaged 7.4 points while shooting 34.5 percent from the floor and 24.1 percent from 3-point territory. Over his most recent nine game this month, Ingram is averaging 11.7 points while shooting 48.6 percent from the floor and 47.8 percent from downtown. As the Lakers slip further away from playoff contention in the second half of the season, it is likely L.A.'s prized rookie will see an increase in playing time and scoring opportunities. • Zach LaVine shoots poorly vs. Clippers
Zach LaVine hit 3-of-13 shots for nine points with six rebounds, two assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in Thursday's win over the Clippers.

Advice: LaVine is averaging just 15.3 points per game in January compared to his 20.1 points per game this season. It has been a rocky month nonetheless, but his next matchup is one that favors him, as the Nuggets are giving up the most fantasy points per game to opposing shooting guards, making this a great bounce back spot. Fantasy owners should deploy him as per usual. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 10:48 pm
  • Kris Dunn scores five points in 25 minutes
Kris Dunn scored five points with four assists, four rebounds, one block and one steal in 25 minutes on Thursday against the Clippers.

Advice: Dunn started in place of the injured Ricky Rubio (hip) in the second half of tonight’s game. However, Tyus Jones started at point guard in the fourth quarter and finished with four points, four assists, and one 3-pointer in 12 minutes. Both of them were on the court to close out the game. If Rubio misses any time, Dunn and Jones would get a boost in playing time. In games where Dunn has played at least 24 minutes this season, he has averaged 5.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.2 points, and 3.0 steals per game. He will not light up the score board, but he is a great source of steals. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 10:37 pm
  • Raymond Felton scores 10 points in loss
Raymond Felton scored 10 points with eight assists, four rebounds and two steals on Thursday night against the Timberwolves.

Advice: Felton got the start for the injured Chris Paul (hand) tonight and played 34 minutes. Although he scored just 10 points, he did contribute in dimes and steals. He should be owned in all formats during Paul’s absence, but will hurt you in field goal percentage some nights. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 10:09 pm
  • Jamal Murray scores 13 points vs. Spurs
Jamal Murray scored 13 points in 26 minutes against the Spurs on Thursday, adding six rebounds, two assists and two 3-pointers.

Advice: He picked up some extra run because the Nuggets had to play Will Barton at the three more because both Danilo Gallinari (ankle) and Wilson Chandler (personal) were out. Chances are both of those guys won't miss much time, so we're not suggesting Murray as a pickup in most cases. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 8:23 pm
  • Jusuf Nurkic gets 14 minutes
Jusuf Nurkic scored five points with one rebound, one block and one turnover in 14 minutes against the Spurs on Thursday.

Advice: The Nuggets had some success with Nurkic next to Nikola Jokic last year and gave it a go briefly in this game. This was also likely due to Wilson Chandler (personal) not playing, so the needle doesn't move much on Nurk here. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 8:19 pm
  • J.J. Barea scores 13 points in 16 minutes
J.J. Barea hit 5-of-10 shots for 13 points with one rebound, one assist and three 3-pointers in 16 minutes on Thursday against the Heat.

Advice: This was the third consecutive game that he scored double-digit points, however, Barea has not played more than 19 minutes since Nov. 16. With that said, he is shooting the ball well, so he is at least someone worth adding to your watch list. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 7:48 pm
  • Felton, JJ, Rivers, Luc & Jordan starting
Raymond Felton, J.J. Redick, Austin Rivers, Luc Mbah a Moute and DeAndre Jordan will start against the Wolves on Thursday.

Advice: This was expected all along and the Clippers will have to manage without the NBA's top player in real plus minus. Felton is worth a look if you need a point guard for the next 6-8 weeks. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 7:21 pm
  • Tristan Thompson dislocates finger, returns
Tristan Thompson played just 20 minutes against the Suns on Thursday with six rebounds, one assist and two blocks.

Advice: After dislocating his left index finger in the first half, Thompson started the second half with wrap around his finger. Channing Frye played an excellent game and the Cavs never really lost control, so that explains the low playing time. For now, we're expecting Thompson to be a full go on Saturday in the national game against the Spurs. Thompson has only turned in 13th-round value on the season, so he's not the best for fantasy. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 7:03 pm
  • T.J. Warren scores 18 points vs. Cavs
T.J. Warren played 40 minutes against the Cavs on Thursday with 18 points, three rebounds, one assist, two steals, one block and no turnovers.

Advice: The Suns went with Warren and P.J. Tucker together for 21 minutes in this game, so that somewhat explains the big playing time for Warren. His playing time is clearly back, averaging 30.4 minutes, 2.0 boards, 1.4 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.4 treys in his last five. With more Tucker rumors popping up, Warren could start trending up again. Although, we don't think he'll be as good as he was to start the year. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 6:48 pm
  • Dragan Bender scores three points vs. CLE
Dragan Bender scored three points with one rebound, one assist, one block and one 3-pointer in 18 minutes against the Cavs on Thursday.

Advice: Coach Earl Watson used Bender at the five a little more than usual, but that was due to Channing Frye being on the other end. Bender was coming in with some momentum with 23.0 minutes per game over his last two, but he's still going to be more of a stash. He did averagee 1.2 treys and 1.0 blocks in his last five, so there are worse stashes out there. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 6:41 pm
  • P.J. Tucker scores just two points
P.J. Tucker scored two points with five rebounds, two assists and two steals in 29 minutes against the Cavs on Thursday.

Advice: Coach Earl Watson always plays Tucker against top-notch wings, so that explains the playing time. As you can see with his stat line, he's not really doing much with his minutes. Tucker has actually been a ninth-round guy in his last 10, but a possible trade and a low upside makes him a borderline asset in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 6:38 pm
  • Tristan Thompson will start the second half
Tristan Thompson (finger) will start the second half on Thursday.

Advice: X-rays were negative and he should be all set. This game will likely be in garbage time in about 30 minutes. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 5:29 pm
  • Tristan Thompson likely to return to game
Tristan Thompson left Thursday's game in the first half and went straight to the locker room after dislocating his left index finger.

Advice: X-rays were negative and it sounds like he should return to play in the second half, according to the Cavs' broadcast team. He had four rebounds, two blocks and missed both of his shots before heading to the locker room. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 5:03 pm
  • Jeremy Lin (hamstring) ruled out for Friday
Jeremy Lin (hamstring) has been ruled out for Friday against the Pelicans.

Advice: We don't even know when Lin is going to practice yet, so he's out indefinitely. Lin has hinted that him missing games is more than just about him being healthy, so the team may want to look at their younger players. Isaiah Whitehead and Spencer Dinwiddie have split the minutes for the most part, but neither are worth owning in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 3:23 pm
    Injured

  • Rudy Gay suffers full rupture of Achilles
Rudy Gay suffered a full rupture of the left Achilles tendon and will miss the rest of the season.

Advice: He is going to have surgery in the coming days. This is a brutal blow for the Kings, who were in the mix to fight for the eighth seed. It's just as bad for Gay and now he may not opt out of his $14.2 million player option for next season at age 30. For the rest of the season, the Kings may look to Garrett Temple, Anthony Tolliver and Matt Barnes to step up. The last stint Gay missed, it was Temple turning in the best value. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 2:35 pm
    Injured

  • Brandon Ingram not starting just yet
Coach Luke Walton said he has no plans to start Brandon Ingram.

Advice: Walton said the team has been doing some extra workouts with Ingram to help his shooting. In the last nine games, Ingram posted a 56.7 effective field goal percentage on jumpers. That's a massive boost from the 30.9 eFG% in his NBA career before that stretch. He's trending up, but he's still only a stash. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 1:13 pm
  • P.J. Tucker drawing interest around the NBA
P.J. Tucker is reportedly drawing interest from around the league.

Advice: Tucker is on the final year of an affordable deal, as he's on the books for just $5.3 million. With the Suns rebuilding, it's no secret that they will listen to offers for their defensive stopper. According to this report, the Clippers, Bulls, Cavaliers, Timberwolves and Hawks all have interest in Tucker, but Suns GM Ryan McDonough said earlier in the week that he doesn't like taking back late-round picks in deals which could complicate things in trade talks. If the Suns can find a new home for Tucker, T.J. Warren will get a bump and Dragan Bender will have a larger role. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 7:22 am
  • Hello Again: Kevin Durant gets 40 pts vs. OKC
Kevin Durant was phenomenal against his former team on Wednesday, scoring a season-high 40 points (13-of-16 FGs, 9-of-10 FTs) with 12 rebounds, four assists, three blocks and five 3-pointers.

Advice: "It's never going to be a regular game for me," Durant said prior to the game. "I'm sure it will [be emotional]. It's people I've been with for so long and to see them again, yeah, they'll be some emotions. But I've still got a job to do." He did his job at an MVP level tonight, playing with a little extra juice against Russell Westbrook and co., and he continues to hold off all challengers for No. 1 fantasy value in 9-cat leagues. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 10:38 pm
  • Tests indicate Rudy Gay tore his Achilles
Preliminary tests indicated Rudy Gay has suffered a torn left Achilles.

Advice: He'll have an MRI on Thursday to confirm the injury, which is likely to end his season. Gay had micro tearing in his left Achilles dating back to 2014 and received shockwave treatment before. He's heading into a contract year and the timing is just terrible for the 30-year-old forward. The Kings will have to count on Garrett Temple, Matt Barnes and Anthony Tolliver. Temple is worth a pickup in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 9:48 pm
    Injured

  • Rudy Gay (leg) gets carried off the court
Rudy Gay (leg) was carried off the court in the third quarter on Wednesday.

Advice: It did not look good. He was driving along the baseline and his leg gave out on the play. Gay couldn't put any weight on his left leg and the Kings had four people carry him off the court. Considering how the Kings have been careful with him, he's likely to miss time here. Matt Barnes, Anthony Tolliver and Garrett Temple could all gain value. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 9:22 pm
    Injured

  • Clint Capela scores just five off bench
Clint Capela came off the bench against the Bucks on Wednesday with five points, three rebounds and two blocks in 11 minutes.

Advice: He still has a minutes limit and it may stick around. The good news is Capela came in for garbage time, so maybe the plan all along was to have him close out for this game. While he hasn't done much yet, he has to be owned in all standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 8:32 pm
  • Jonas Valanciunas grabs 16 rebounds vs. PHI
Jonas Valanciunas grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds on Wednesday, with six on the offensive glass, adding 10 points on 5-of-11 shooting in 30 minutes.

Advice: Lucas Nogueira was out tonight due to a concussion and JV had his own scare when his head hit the court in the fourth quarter. He never left the game, however, so we're leaving him off the injury report unless a pessimistic update surfaces prior to Friday's road game. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 7:19 pm
  • Kyle Lowry returns with 24/4/4, five steals
Kyle Lowry returned from a rest day to finish Wednesday's 94-89 defeat with 24 points, four rebounds, four assists, five steals and three 3-pointers.

Advice: He made 5-of-13 field goals and 11-of-16 free throws in 40 minutes, but it wasn't enough to knock off the surging 76ers in Philly. Lowry passed Zach LaVine for the league lead in minutes per game tonight, at 37.3, and it's not surprising to see the Raptors find him a rest day. His owners should keep an eye out for updates with another back-to-back set looming on Jan. 24/25. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 7:18 pm
  • Kyle Lowry will start vs. 76ers
Kyle Lowry will start against the 76ers on Wednesday night.

Advice: He should be busy in a hometown game. Lowry is also somewhat fresh after getting Tuesday off. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 4:02 pm
  • Clint Capela will come off the bench vs. MIL
Clint Capela will come off the bench for Wednesday's game against the Bucks.

Advice: Capela started in his return from a 15-game absence on Tuesday, but only lasted nine minutes, so it doesn't make much sense to start him while he's dealing with a minutes limit. Capela does have some nice upside, but it'll probably take him at least a week before he's really up to speed. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 3:33 pm
  • Gary Harris will not play on Thursday
Gary Harris (ankle) will not play against the Spurs on Thursday.

Advice: This will be his second game out of the lineup. Harris is having a tough go this year, suffering injuries to his groin, foot and now this ankle sprain. With him out, Will Barton is a must-start player in season long and is probably worth using in DFS. Jamal Murray also benefits. Harris should still probably remain owned in standard leagues despite all these injuries. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 2:25 pm
  • Report: OKC turned off by Rudy Gay's agency
The Thunder have reportedly been turned off by Rudy Gay joining the Roc Nation Sports agency.

Advice: This is the same agency that represents Kevin Durant, and according to Sam Amick of USA Today, OKC management partly blames the Roc Nation agency for the departure of Durant. Amick speculates that a trade sending Gay to Miami in some sort of Goran Dragic package is more likely, although Pat Riley may prefer to wait for Gay to hit free agency rather than unload assets to grab him for half a season now. In terms of fantasy hoops, Miami would be a decent landing spot, but this is all speculation at the moment. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 11:04 am

  • Brandon Ingram stuffs the stat sheet in loss
Brandon Ingram moved into the starting lineup on Tuesday vs. the Nuggets and stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, five rebounds, four assists, three steals and two 3-pointers in 37 minutes.

Advice: This was arguably one of his best games as a pro. Ingram finished 6-of-14 from the field and 1-of-2 from the line with zero turnovers. With Luol Deng (wrist) out indefinitely, Ingram is looking at 30+ minutes per night moving forward. We'd like to see him do it again because he was averaging 10.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.7 blocks and 1.0 3-pointer in his previous nine January games, and there are a couple of better fantasy pickups around the league including Raymond Felton and Austin Rivers. If those guys are unavailable, give Ingram a look, but expect some bumps in the road. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 10:16 pm
  • Rajon Rondo fading, scores zero Tuesday
Rajon Rondo played 23 minutes off the bench on Tuesday but missed all four of his shots and failed to score, finishing with just three rebounds and five assists in a loss to the Mavs.

Advice: Rondo is fading fast, hasn't scored more than six points in any of his last four games, and is averaging just 3.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 0.5 steals over his last four games, while hitting just 6-of-25 shots over that stretch. There are simply better players to spend your time and effort on than Rondo right now, but he's probably still worth holding in deeper leagues. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 8:19 pm
  • Nikola Mirotic plays 22 minutes in return
Nikola Mirotic returned from an illness on Tuesday and had six points, five rebounds, a steal, a block and two 3-pointers in 22 minutes.

Advice: Not a bad line from Mirotic, who also benefitted from the absence of Taj Gibson, who was out with an ankle injury. The song remains the same with Miro - he'll have some big games and some bad games, so catching him on the right night can be tough. But if Gibson's ankle injury lingers, Mirotic will be someone worth picking up, while he could also bounce back for a decent second half, with or without Gibson. Mirotic is the textbook definition of a borderline player to own in 12-team leagues. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 8:09 pm
  • J.J. Barea goes for 12 & 6 off bench
J.J. Barea hit 5-of-8 shots and two 3-pointers for 12 points and six assists in just 18 minutes in Tuesday's 99-98 win over the Bulls.

Advice: Barea's hit double digits in back-to-back games but will need more than the 17 minutes he's getting a night right now if he's going to be worth adding in fantasy. Just keep an eye on him, as he's starting to come on. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 7:47 pm
  • Brandon Ingram will start on Tuesday
Brandon Ingram will start on Tuesday vs. the Nuggets.

Advice: Luol Deng (wrist) is considered out indefinitely, so the rookie is looking at a hefty workload going forward. As a starter this season, Ingram has posted averages of 9.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 0.6 blocks and 0.7 triples in 11 games. We'll let you know how he fares tonight. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 7:12 pm
  • Clint Capela fails to score in return
Clint Capela played for the first time in 15 games after a broken leg and started on Tuesday, but missed all three of his shots and didn't score in just nine minutes of action.

Advice: The good news is that he's back and the bad news is that it will be baby steps for Capela as he works his way back into game shape. He's worth holding, but it may be a week or so before we see him return to form. He did have five rebounds and a block, for what it's worth. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 7:03 pm
  • Gary Harris (ankle) out for Nuggets
As expected, Gary Harris will not play for the Nuggets on Tuesday due to a sprained right ankle.

Advice: Will Barton (flu) is available and it would be surprising if both he and Jameer Nelson don't make some noise tonight in Harris' absence. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 6:19 pm
  • Raymond Felton looking at a bump in minutes
Raymond Felton is looking at a bump in minutes with Chris Paul (thumb surgery) out for the next 6-8 weeks.

Advice: Felton started the second half of Monday's game and looked great with 15 points on 7-of-7 shooting with six assists, three rebounds, one block, one steal and two turnovers in 27 minutes, and he averaged 10.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.7 triples in six previous starts this season. He's likely going to take over the starting role in Los Angeles and looks like a strong pickup in standard leagues. Austin Rivers also looks like a great pickup. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 4:30 pm
  • Kyle Lowry (rest) will not play Tuesday
Kyle Lowry (rest) will not play Tuesday vs. Brooklyn.

Advice: Nothing like a very late and unexpected lineup change involving a stud to send DFS players scrambling at the last minute... The Raps announced that "Lowry will dress but likely not play to rest bumps/bruises." Safe to assume that playing the last-place Nets factored into Toronto's thought process, in addition to the fact that this is the front-end of a back-to-back for the Raps. Cory Joseph will replace Lowry in the lineup on Tuesday. Lowry should be ready to roll on Wednesday. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 4:17 pm
  • Jeremy Lin (hamstring) out Tuesday vs. TOR
Jeremy Lin (hamstring) will not play Tuesday vs. Toronto.

Advice: He's out indefinitely, and we're going to stop updating his status until he clears some sort of benchmark for getting back to the court (he's still not practicing). Isaiah Whitehead and Spencer Dinwiddie will continue to man the point guard position in Lin's absence, but neither guy is worth a roster spot in most settings. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 3:00 pm
    Injured

  • MIN views Kris Dunn as long-term starter
The Timberwolves reportedly view Kris Dunn as their long-term starting point guard.

Advice: The Vertical broke news on Tuesday that Minnesota is actively shopping Ricky Rubio with the intent of being able to eventually turn over the reins to Dunn, so it’s highly likely that the rookie will be unleashed towards the end of the year. That being said, Dunn has a shaky jumper (37.8 percent shooting) and is not capable of consistently hitting the 3-point shot (0.4), so those two things will likely keep his value in check even when he's getting 30 minutes a night. Still, his upside in steals and assists makes him a reasonable guy to stash in deep leagues. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 1:59 pm
  • Nikola Mirotic (illness) will play Tuesday
Nikola Mirotic (illness) will play Tuesday vs. the Mavs.

Advice: Mirotic, who has missed four straight games due to strep throat, has been a disappointment this season, averaging career-lows in points (9.5), assists (0.8), field goal percentage (.387), 3-point percentage (.312) and free-throw percentage (.758). Hopefully, he can bounce back in the second half of the season to salvage his 2016-17 campaign. Mirotic's return will cut into Doug McDermott's minutes and likely knock Bobby Portis out of the rotation. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 9:11 am
  • Clint Capela (knee) will start Tuesday night
Clint Capela (knee) will return to the starting lineup Tuesday night in Miami, but will "probably" play fewer than 20 minutes.

Advice: Capela will return after missing 15 games. Coach Mike D'Antoni indicated that there will not be a minutes cap in place, but did say: "His condition being what it is, we'll keep him under 20 minutes, probably." Capela was averaging 24.5 minutes per game over Houston's first 28 games this season. Montrezl Harrell had played relatively well in Capela absence, but will now get bumped back to the bench. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 8:28 am
  • Clint Capela (knee) expected to play Tuesday
Clint Capela (knee) is expected to make his return to the lineup on Tuesday vs. Miami.

Advice: "I've been doing pretty good in the workouts by myself, sprinting, dunking. It all felt good," Capela said. He had been playing the best basketball of his career prior to the injury, which was initially projected to cost him 4-6 weeks. He is averaging 11.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.6 blocks - all career-highs. Make sure he is not floating around your league's waiver wire, as he was returning mid-round value over the first two months of the season. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 8:00 am
  • Gary Harris (ankle): X-rays are negative
X-rays on Gary Harris' sprained right ankle came back negative, but Harris is not expected to be available on Tuesday when the Nuggets play the L.A. Lakers.

Advice: Harris has played just 17 of the Nuggets 38 games this season due to a variety of groin and foot injuries, and it appears he will miss at least one more due to this ankle sprain. The good news is that this injury seems relatively minor. "I don’t think this is nearly as serious or severe as the previous injury," coach Mike Malone said. Jameer Nelson and Will Barton will likely see a boost if Harris is unable to play. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 6:44 am
  • Raymond Felton scores 15 on 7-of-7 shooting
Raymond Felton scored 15 points on a perfect 7-of-7 shooting in Monday's 120-98 win over the Thunder on Monday.

Advice: Chris Paul left the game with a sprained left thumb and did not return, so Felton started the second half and added six assists, three rebounds, one block, one steal and two turnovers in 27 minutes. X-rays were negative on Paul's thumb, but he is scheduled to have an MRI on Tuesday at which point we will know if he needs to miss additional time. Felton looks like a nice speculative pickup with averages of 10.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.7 triples in six previous starts this season. Rotoworld.com Monday, 10:13 pm
  • P.J. Tucker hauls in season-high 13 boards
P.J. Tucker tied his season high with 13 rebounds and added eight points and two steals in 27 minutes on Monday.

Advice: Tucker is averaging just 6.2 points over his last five games, but also 7.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals in 29 minutes a game. He doesn't hit threes, hand out assists or block shots, and with his shaky field goal percentage and lack of scoring, is a borderline player to target in fantasy leagues. Chances are you can do better off your waiver wire. Rotoworld.com Jan 16, 8:55 pm
  • T.J. Warren scores 15, not much else
T.J. Warren hit 5-of-7 shots, 1-of-1 3-pointers and 4-of-4 free throws for 15 points, one rebound, one assist and one steal in 31 minutes of Monday's 106-101 loss to the Jazz.

Advice: Warren is back, but doesn't look like the same player he was prior to his head injury. There's plenty of time for him to get going again, but his averages of just 11.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.0 blocks and 0.4 3-pointers on 54 percent shooting are not awe inspiring. He may find his game again and finish up strong, but for now, he's only worth keeping around in 12-team leagues as a fill-in when you don't have a full roster. His lack of anything but the occasional nice scoring night is a concern. Rotoworld.com Jan 16, 8:31 pm
  • Marquese Chriss has tough night vs. Jazz
Marquese Chriss hit just 2-of-9 shots and finished with five points and three rebounds in 22 minutes in Monday's 106-101 loss to the Jazz.

Advice: Chriss fouled Gordon Hayward with 13.6 seconds left in the game and the Suns down one, and then had his shot blocked by Rudy Gobert to seal the win for the Jazz. Chriss' confidence probably took a hit tonight and it may be a good time to think about dumping him for a free agent. But as it stands, he's still starting for one of the worst teams in the league and appears to have a bright future. Rotoworld.com Jan 16, 8:27 pm
  • Kevin Durant scores 21 on 9-of-16 FGs
Kevin Durant scored 21 points on 9-of-16 shooting in Monday's win over the Cavaliers.

Advice: Durant had three blocks on the night including a massive rejection on a LeBron James dunk attempt (link below). He added six rebounds, five assists, two steals and three triples, but only played 29 minutes in the blowout win. Durant should be a popular DFS target on Wednesday vs. Russell Westbrook and the Thunder. The last time those two teams met, Durant had 39 points on 15-of-24 shooting. Rotoworld.com Jan 16, 7:50 pm
  • Nikola Vucevic scores 17 in 28 minutes
Nikola Vucevic scored 17 points with four rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block in 28 minutes on Monday in Denver.

Advice: Vooch has scored at least 15 points in each of Orlando's last five games and is averaging 19.4 points (on 55.7 percent shooting), 8.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.4 blocks and 1.2 steals over that five-game stretch. His stock is trending upwards and his appears to be poised for a solid second half of the season now that his role in the offense is secure. Rotoworld.com Jan 16, 6:15 pm
  • Jamal Murray plays just 5 minutes on Monday
Jamal Murray played only five minutes in Denver's win over Orlando and failed to make any impact on the stat sheet.

Advice: It was an old-fashioned five trillion for Murray, as he didn't tally a single point, rebound, assist, steal or block. It is surprising that Murray only played five minutes (and zero in the second half) considering that Denver starting shooting guard Gary Harris sprained his ankle just three minutes into the game. Murray has played in all 39 games this season, but Monday was the first time he played fewer than 11 minutes. With Harris doubtful for Tuesday, it would seem Murray would be poised for an uptick in minutes, but after Monday's disappointment, he can't be trusted. Rotoworld.com Jan 16, 5:20 pm
  • Gary Harris (ankle) doubtful Tuesday vs. LAL
Gary Harris (right ankle sprain) is doubtful to play Tuesday vs. the Lakers.

Advice: "It is the same leg that his foot injury was on but this is separate," said head coach Mike Malone. "It is an ankle thing and he is doubtful for [Tuesday's game against the Lakers]." With Harris on the sidelines, Jameer Nelson could enter the starting lineup and Will Barton will see some increased opportunity with the second unit. Jamal Murray could also get into the rotation, although he only managed to get on the court for five minutes on Monday despite the game being a blowout. Rotoworld.com Jan 16, 4:41 pm
  • Clint Capela (knee) feeling good in workouts
Clint Capela (knee) said that he's been sprinting and dunking during recent workouts, and it all felt good.

Advice: Capela has been out of commission since Dec. 17, but he could return to the court for Tuesday's game against the Heat. The Rockets will make an official determination on his status following Tuesday morning's shootaround, but he's close enough to a return that he should be stashed in most leagues. He'll likely be eased back into things after the lengthy layoff, but once he's fully up to speed, Montrezl Harrell will lose most of his value. Rotoworld.com Jan 16, 3:42 pm
  • Zach LaVine returned to action on Sunday January 15. Rotoworld.com Jan 16, 12:19 am
  • Rudy Gay double-doubles vs. Thunder
Rudy Gay scored 22 points with 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals, two blocks and two 3-pointers in 36 minutes on Sunday against the Thunder.

Advice: This was his second consecutive double-double and his fourth of the season. He continues to have a nice January, averaging 35.4 minutes, 19.4 points, seven rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.8 blocks per game. There is no reason to think he will slow down any time soon. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 9:16 pm

  • Nikola Mirotic could return on Tuesday
Coach Fred Hoiberg is "hopeful" that Nikola Mirotic (illness) will play on Tuesday against Dallas.

Advice: Mirotic has missed four games due to the illness, which appears to be strep throat. Prior to the issue, he averaged 25.8 minutes, 10.8 points, four rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game in the month of January. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 4:43 pm
  • Norman Powell scores 21 points off the bench
Norman Powell got hot off the bench during Sunday's blowout win over the Knicks, tallying 21 points, one 3-pointer, one rebound, one steal and two turnovers in 24 minutes.

Advice: Powell went 7-of-13 from the field and 6-of-6 from the charity stripe, giving him a solid true shooting percentage of 67.1 on the evening as he took advantage of the Knicks' lackluster effort on defense. Powell got some extended minutes tonight with the game being a blowout, but as long as DeMarre Carroll is healthy, Powell's playing time will be too inconsistent to depend on him in standard settings. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 4:11 pm
  • Jonas Valanciunas double-doubles in 28 mins
Jonas Valanciunas double-doubled in his 28 minutes of action during Sunday's 116-101 blowout victory over the Knicks, tallying 12 points, 16 rebounds, one assist and two turnovers.

Advice: Ever since head coach Dwane Casey challenged Valanciunas to earn his minutes by dominating his matchup, JV has been a double-double machine owning averages of 14.0 points, 12.3 rebounds, 1.0 block and just 1.2 turnovers per contest on 53.1 percent shooting, which has been good enough for top-50 value in standard 9-cat leagues. After the game, Casey said that there are "no excuses" for Valanciunas to not "dominate" the boards, and he's been pleased with JV's performance as of late. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 3:54 pm
  • Kyle Lowry scores 16 points with full line
Kyle Lowry scored 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting Sunday, to go with two 3-pointers, four rebounds, nine assists, one steal, one block and just one turnover in 28 minutes.

Advice: Lowry finished the game with a plus/minus rating of +35, and he ranks No. 6 overall on the year in total plus/minus with 323. He's had a strong first half of the year, churning out first-round value while hitting career-highs in points (22.4), triples (3.3), field goal percentage (47.8) and 3-point percentage (51.0), so hopefully he can avoid the injury bug to close out the year. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 3:36 pm
  • J.J. Barea scores 15 points in 17 minutes
J.J. Barea was phenomenal in his 17 minutes of action during Sunday's win over the Wolves, scoring 15 points on 5-of-5 shooting to go with one 3-pointer, three boards, three assists and two turnovers.

Advice: Barea also went 4-of-5 from the charity stripe, giving him a ridiculous true shooting percentage of 104.2 on the evening to accompany his 32.4 usage rate. Barea said that while he's still not completely recovered from the left leg muscle strain, he's finally starting to feel better, so his minutes should start creeping up into the 20-range. He's worth a speculative add in deep leagues. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 2:47 pm
  • Zach LaVine scores 11 points w/ three treys
Zach LaVine (hip) scored 11 points on 3-of-8 shooting in his return from a two-game absence on Sunday, adding three 3-pointers, five boards, one assist, one steal and one turnover in 34 minutes.

Advice: LaVine looked a bit rusty out there, and he didn't connect on any of his attempts from inside the arc, but the heavy minutes would suggest that he'll be just fine for Tuesday's game in San Antonio. LaVine popped off for 25 points with four triples in his last game against the Spurs, so his owners can expect a bounce-back performance. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 1:21 pm
  • Zach LaVine (hip) is active for Sunday
Zach LaVine (hip) is active for Sunday's game vs. the Mavericks.

Advice: He will be returning from a two-game absence, but there's no word of any restrictions. LaVine made it though warmups just fine and is safe to deploy in season-long leagues. We'll let you know how he looks after the game. Brandon Rush will return to the bench. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 10:05 am
  • Zach LaVine (hip) is a game-time call
Zach LaVine (hip) is a game-time call vs. the Mavericks on Sunday.

Advice: He's going to go through warmups and will play if his hip feels good according to coach Tom Thibodeau. If LaVine is able to return from a two-game absence, Brandon Rush will shift back to the bench. LaVine was also a game-time on Friday vs. the Thunder, so don't consider him as a lock to play. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 9:41 am
  • Clint Capela (leg) could return on Tuesday
Clint Capela (leg) could return on Tuesday vs. the Heat or Wednesday vs. the Bucks.

Advice: He has missed about one month of action, but the big man is scheduled to go through practice on Monday. It's fair to assume that Capela will have restrictions right out of the gate, but he shouldn't be sitting on your waiver wire with season averages of 11.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.6 blocks. Montrezl Harrell is now a drop candidate in most leagues, while Nene loses a lot of value as well. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 8:11 am
  • Nikola Vucevic scores 15 points in 32 mins
Nikola Vucevic played 32 minutes, scoring 15 points with eight rebounds, three assists, three steals and one 3-pointer in Saturday’s loss to the Jazz.

Advice: Despite the tough matchup, Vuc was able to put together a nice performance. He continues to play significant minutes, playing 32 minutes in three consecutive games. In the month of January, he is averaging 30.1 minutes, 16.4 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. Orlando’s new approach on offense has not affected Vucevic in a negative way whatsoever. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 9:05 pm
  • T.J. Warren scores 12 points
T.J. Warren scored 12 points with one rebound, two steals and two turnovers in 26 minutes against the Spurs on Saturday.

Advice: It's been a bumpy ride for Warren and it stings even more in fantasy because he's so scoring dependent. Even with this solid game, his averages over his last five aren't pretty with 9.2 points, 2.2 boards, 1.0 assists and 0.2 treys. He's really just a low-end guy for now. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 7:10 pm
  • P.J. Tucker scores six points
P.J. Tucker scored six points with five rebounds, two assists, four steals and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes against the Spurs on Saturday.

Advice: He did get the business from Kawhi Leonard for most of this game, but Tucker came up big late to get the big win. He'll have some low-end value while the Suns are technically in playoff contention, but he's only a guy on deep-league radars. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 7:03 pm
  • Dragan Bender scores six
Dragan Bender scored six points in 21 minutes against the Spurs on Saturday, adding six rebounds, five fouls and two 3-pointers.

Advice: He played well and he did benefit from Marquese Chriss getting into foul trouble. Bender has fallen behind Chriss for the most part with those two splitting the power forward minutes. Plus, coach Earl Watson uses two-SF lineups a bunch in certain matchups. He's more of a stash. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 7:00 pm
  • Marquese Chriss gets in foul trouble
Marquese Chriss played 15 minutes against the Spurs on Saturday with five points, five boards, one assist, two steals and one 3-pointer.

Advice: As is usually the case with Chriss, foul trouble cost him. Chriss was playing well in his previous four games with three of those resulting in 12-plus points. He's likely to start trending up and has upside, so feel free to add him if you're sick of a player struggling at the end of your bench. He'll be a bumpy ride of course. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 6:57 pm
  • Rajon Rondo scores six points
Rajon Rondo scored six points off the bench against the Pelicans on Saturday, adding two rebounds, five assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 19 minutes.

Advice: He picked up 100 percent of the backup point guard minutes, but he did only play two minutes in the fourth quarter. Rondo is clearly behind Michael Carter-Williams for now, so the needle hasn't moved on his enough to add him in standard leagues. If you're desperate for a point guard in a deep league, feel free to give him a look to see if anything changes. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 5:50 pm
  • Raymond Felton scores 15 points vs. Lakers
Raymond Felton scored 15 points with two rebounds, four assists and one 3-pointer in 25 minutes against the Lakers on Saturday.

Advice: This wasn't really a garbage-time special for Felton in a very impressive game. He also played next to Chris Paul for eight minutes today, which is close to double his average in the 20 previous games they were paired together. Felton has been hanging around top-150 value in his last 10, but that's still close to his ceiling while CP3 is healthy. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 3:19 pm
  • Brandon Ingram plays really well in loss
Brandon Ingram scored 14 points with five rebounds, five assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 31 minutes against the Clippers on Saturday.

Advice: With Luol Deng resting, Ingram started the second half. He's playing a lot better and it has a lot to do with his shot selection. Ingram is open more on his jumper lately and he's also been very good close to the basket, making 64.0 percent on his shots within eight feet in his previous 10 -- that accounts for 38 percent of his total. Ingram is trending up, but his standalone value isn't that great right now. He should have solid value in about a month and is worth a pickup in most leagues. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 2:53 pm
  • Jeremy Lin remains out for Sunday night
Jeremy Lin (hamstring) will not play on Sunday against the Rockets.

Advice: He wants to play in the next week or so, but some comments from the Nets suggest Lin sitting out is more than just getting him healthy. In other words, Lin is likely out for quite a few games despite how he said he's healing faster than his last hamstring strain. If you're going to stash him, you will need some serious patience. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 2:08 pm
    Injured

  • Brandon Ingram starts 3Q over Lou
Brandon Ingram started the third quarter over Lou Williams on Saturday.

Advice: The Lakers were torched in the first half and were down 19 at half, so that's likely the reasoning here. There's no reason to react to this news from a fantasy perspective. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 1:55 pm
  • Nikola Mirotic ruled out for Sunday night
Nikola Mirotic (illness) will not play against the Grizzlies on Sunday.

Advice: He has a really, really bad case of something with now four games out of the lineup. Mirotic being out should open up minutes for Doug McDermott as the second-unit shooter, but McDermott has been awful lately. If things change on Saturday, maybe Bobby Portis gets a look. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 12:31 pm
  • Rajon Rondo remains in the rotation vs. NO
Rajon Rondo will remain in the rotation on Saturday against the Pelicans.

Advice: That means Jerian Grant is likely out of the rotation now that Jimmy Butler is back from illness. Rondo is still not worth owning, especially with the Bulls going with more no-PG lineups. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 12:27 pm
  • Zach LaVine (hip) questionable for Sunday
Zach LaVine (hip) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Mavs.

Advice: LaVine has missed each of the Wolves last two games, but appears to be inching closer to a return. Brandon Rush has started in place of LaVine and has played surprisingly well. Rush scored 12 points on Wednesday and then backed that up with 11 points and four rebounds in a team-high 40 minutes on Friday. Still, Rush would be a risky DFS punt on Sunday, even if LaVine does not play. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 11:11 am
  • Vucevic to be used exclusively at center
Coach Frank Vogel has confirmed that he will use Nikola Vucevic exclusively at center going forward.

Advice: Vogel also said that Serge Ibaka will see minutes as the back-up center, which will mean more minutes for Jeff Green at the four. The early returns on Vogel's change in approach have been promising, as Vucevic scored a season-high 30 points in the Magic's win on Friday. The odd man out in the new situation is Bismack Biyombo, who played only 16 minutes on Friday. Rotoworld.com Jan 14, 7:13 am
  • Rudy Gay scores 23 points in loss to Cavs
Rudy Gay scored 23 points with 10 rebounds, two assists, four blocks and three 3-pointers in 35 minutes against the Cavs on Friday.

Advice: After all the time off due to a hip injury, Gay has turned it up over his last four. In that span, he averaged 18.8 points, 6.3 boards, 2.5 assists, 1.8 blocks, 1.3 steals and 1.8 treys. He should feast the rest of the way while he's on the Kings roster, but the trade rumors and rest will be a pain for his owners. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 10:50 pm
    Injured

  • Nikola Vucevic scores season-high 30 points
Nikola Vucevic scored a season-high 30 points in Friday's win over the Blazers.

Advice: He likes this starting thing and coach Frank Vogel confirmed this week that he will stick with him in the first unit going forward. Vucevic played 32 minutes and hit 13-of-18 shots with 10 rebounds, four assists, one steal and two blocks. He's trending in the right direction and should see a healthy workload on Saturday vs. Rudy Gobert and the Jazz. Bismack Biyombo only played 16 minutes and had two points, five rebounds and two turnovers. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 9:51 pm
  • Kyle Lowry drops massive stat line in win
Kyle Lowry filled it up against the Nets during a 132-113 win on Friday, scoring 20 points with six rebounds, six assists, two steals, two blocks and three 3-pointers.

Advice: Those 132 points are a franchise record in a non-OT game. Obviously Lowry's fantasy owners know how good Lowry is with his No. 8 rank on the season, but Lowry is still under appreciated in most NBA circles. Lowry has a 2015-16 Steph-like 64.2 true shooting percentage and is second in the Eastern Conference for real plus minus. He should be starting in the All-Star Game. He may not be this good the rest of the way, but he should still be able to post elite value. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 8:31 pm
  • Valanciunas adds another double-double
Jonas Valanciunas scored 14 points with 10 rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 25 minutes against the Nets on Friday.

Advice: It wasn't a dominating line, but Valanciunas defended well in the paint and his rebounding is a positive -- he had a game-high three offensive boards, as well. He also went to the line, which is another thing both coach Dwane Casey and general manager Masai Ujiri want to see. After a little lull, JV is trending up again. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 8:09 pm
  • Zach LaVine (hip) will be inactive on Friday
Zach LaVine (hip) will be inactive on Friday against the Thunder.

Advice: They ruled him out somewhat early for his game-time decision, so he could miss the next game on Sunday against the Mavs. The matchup is a little different today for the Wolves because the Thunder obviously don't shoot anywhere close to as many threes as the Rockets, but Brandon Rush should still get some heavy run. Shabazz Muhammad has also stepped up. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 4:03 pm
  • Nikola Mirotic (illness) out for Saturday
Nikola Mirotic (illness) will not play against the Pelicans on Saturday.

Advice: This will be his third game out of the lineup with his very bad illness. With him out, it was Paul Zipser getting the start while Bobby Portis also saw some late minutes in a close game. Doug McDermott could also benefit, but he's been in a brutal slump. Mirotic is still a stash. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 2:29 pm
  • Masai Ujiri talks about Jonas Valanciunas
General manager Masai Ujri said the Raptors haven't noticed Jonas Valanciunas playing with the same "feistiness" in the last three weeks.

Advice: Ujiri said Valanciunas has it in him and he's fine with how JV can have bad games. Coach Dwane Casey has also said he wants JV to dominate down low, so Ujiri and Casey are on the same page there. He's come off a big game with 18 points and 23 boards, so expect him to feast against a fast-paced Nets team tonight. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 12:35 pm
  • Jeremy Lin (hamstring) will not play Friday
Jeremy Lin (hamstring) will not play Friday night in Toronto.

Advice: No surprise here, as Lin has been ruled out indifferently. On Thursday, Lin day say he hoped to return within a "couple of weeks." Lin is a notoriously slow healer, so it should be noted that the team has still not given an official timetable. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 10:05 am
    Injured

  • Zach LaVine (hip) a game-time decision Friday
Zach LaVine (hip) said "I don't know" when he asked after shootaround if he would play Friday night vs. OKC.

Advice: Here is the full quote from LaVine: "I don't know. Want to make sure I'm ok... Make sure I'm 100 percent." It seems he is headed in the right direction, but it would be sheer speculation to try and predict if he will return on Friday night. It will come down to a game-time decision. For wat it's worth, he is listed as questionable. If LaVine can't play, Brandon Rush, Shabazz Muhammad and Nemanja Bjelica should see an uptick in minutes. Rotoworld.com Jan 13, 9:16 am
  • Kevin Durant scores 25 on 10-of-15 shooting
Kevin Durant hit 10-of-15 shots and three 3-pointers for 25 points, six rebounds, nine assists and a steal in Thursday's blowout 127-107 win over the Pistons.

Advice: He stayed in the game for a lot of fourth-quarter garbage time when Stephen Curry and most other starters were resting, giving him a nice boost in DFS. This was one of Durant's most efficient games of the season, but then again, it's also just a good example of what he does. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 10:11 pm
  • Brandon Ingram scores nine in 32 minutes
Brandon Ingram scored nine points with two rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 32 minutes against the Spurs on Thursday.

Advice: The sprained wrist injury clearly didn't affect his playing time -- it is to his non-shooting wrist. Ingram said he was only dealing with some discomfort and didn't even notice the injury the day of on Wednesday, so he should be fine going forward. The more the Lakers lose, the better Ingram's fantasy value will be. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 8:18 pm
  • Rajon Rondo plays 23 minutes in loss
Rajon Rondo played 23 minutes and hit just 2-of-9 shots for four points and eight assists in Thursday's loss to the Knicks.

Advice: The Bulls were awful in the third quarter and Fred Hoiberg went with his bench for most of the fourth. Rondo played seven more minutes than starter Michael Carter-Williams tonight, but it probably doesn't mean too much, as they were both outplayed by Jerian Grant. Rondo's poor shooting from both the field and the free throw line, along with his seven points per game, make him a shaky fantasy investment, unless you're desperate at point guard. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 8:04 pm
  • Joe Harris scores 15 points vs. NO
Joe Harris scored 15 points during a 104-95 loss to the Pelicans on Thursday, adding two rebounds, two assists and two 3-pointers in 27 minutes.

Advice: He was likely on thin ice with only four total points in his previous three games, so a good game here has to help. Plus, Caris LeVert is also making a charge for more playing time and possibly even starting. Although, LeVert usually checks in for Bojan Bogdanovic while Sean Kilpatrick checks in for Harris. If Isaiah Whitehead (knee) misses time, that would help Harris slightly for owners in deep leagues. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 7:35 pm
  • Brandon Ingram will play on Thursday night
Brandon Ingram (wrist) will play on Thursday night against the Spurs.

Advice: X-rays were negative on Ingram's left wrist. He didn't realize he hurt it on Wednesday and had a precautionary X-ray after dealing with some soreness today. Expect Ingram to play minutes in the uppers 20s. He is more of a stash in standard leagues, but he is playing a lot better lately. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 5:20 pm
  • Nikola Vucevic will stick in starting unit
Nikola Vucevic will remain in the starting lineup for Friday against the Blazers.

Advice: Coach Frank Vogel said he wants to look at some smaller lineups -- say what? Whatever happens, Vucevic should be able to get minutes in the low 30s and shouldn't be affected by the rotation tweak. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 4:19 pm
  • Jusuf Nurkic plays just eight minutes
Jusuf Nurkic scored three points with two rebounds and one block in eight minutes against the Pacers on Thursday.

Advice: He played two-plus minutes in the first quarter and just under five-plus minutes in the second quarter. Kenneth Faried had it going as the five man and Nikola Jokic was terrific, so there wasn't an opportunity for Nurkic today. He's going to be inconsistent and is more of a stash with an uncertain role on the Nuggets. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 2:28 pm
  • Zach LaVine (hip) questionable for Friday
Zach LaVine (hip) is questionable for Friday against the Thunder.

Advice: He did some rehab work on Thursday and is feeling better. LaVine was ruled out about an hour before Wednesday's game due to his hip contusion injury on Monday, so he should be close. LaVine is tied with Kyle Lowry for minutes per game with two DNPs on the season. If he can't go, Brandon Rush should get another chance to start. Shabazz Muhammad and Nemanja Bjelica would also benefit. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 1:15 pm
  • Jeremy Lin expecting to return in 1-2 weeks?
Jeremy Lin (hamstring) said in a Chinese-language video he is hopeful to return in a couple weeks.

Advice: He said the recovery is progressing faster than last time. Lin has said he's going through some strengthen tests on his hamstring. The Nets obviously won't be rushing him back and there's a chance he is out beyond the two weeks. He's worth a stash, but he doesn't have a specific target date. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 11:55 am
    Injured

  • Rajon Rondo will be the sixth man on Thursday
Rajon Rondo will be the sixth man off the bench on Thursday vs. the Knicks.

Advice: Rondo was in the doghouse with five straight DNP-CDs, but he returned to the rotation on Tuesday vs. the Wizards and hit 6-of-13 shots for 12 points, four rebounds, six assists and three steals in 27 minutes. With Jimmy Butler (illness) out again, Rondo is looking at another decent workload. If you want to take a chance on him, now would be the time to pick him back up with three more games on the schedule this week. He will need another strong game in order to keep his spot in the rotation with Butler expected back on Saturday, but coach Fred Hoiberg did say that he wants Rondo to be the leader of the second unit moving forward. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 9:09 am
  • Clint Capela (leg) says he feels good
Clint Capela (leg) said he's feeling good and he remains on pace to return in the next week or two.

Advice: "My legs feel good. My quickness, I can run, stuff like that," Capela said. "Right now, I just take it day-after-day working out. I'm on schedule for four-to-six weeks (original timetable), like they said before. My workout is getting better, really better." As long as you're OK with his 44.6 percent shooting from the free throw line, Capela is worth stashing after averaging 11.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.6 blocks before going down. Montrezl Harrell will lose most of his value when Capela is cleared. Rotoworld.com Jan 12, 6:48 am
  • Raymond Felton hits 4-of-6 shots in 16 mins
Raymond Felton came off the bench vs. Orlando on Wednesday, making 4-of-6 shots to finish with eight points and three boards in 17 minutes.

Advice: Felton started L.A.'s last game, but he returned to the second unit with Austin Rivers healthy tonight. Felton can be ignored in most leagues, but he's an interesting streaming play when injuries strike L.A.'s backcourt. Rotoworld.com Jan 11, 11:31 pm
  • Nikola Vucevic has 16 & 12 in start Wednesday
Nikola Vucevic returned to the starting lineup on Wednesday, where he posted 16 points on 8-of-16 shooting with 12 rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal in 32 minutes of action.

Advice: Vucevic's owners should temper their excitement, because this could easily be a temporary move to compensate for the absence of Serge Ibaka (shoulder). Ibaka hopes to return on Friday, but even if he heads back to the bench there's reason for cautious optimism -- Vuc logged at least 30 minutes in three of his previous five games.
