  • Andrew Nembhard scores playoff career-high 32 PTS
    Andrew Nembhard was excellent in Saturday’s 114-111 loss to the Celtics, recording a line of 32 points (12-of-21 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), four rebounds, nine assists, and four 3-pointers in 39 minutes.

    Advice: The Pacers were without Tyrese Haliburton (hamstring) for Game 3, and there were questions about who would step up offensively. Nembhard was one of the answers, as he established a new playoff career-high with 32 points. The second-year guard was also responsible for nine assists and just two turnovers, but the last may linger for a while. Nembhard’s pocket was picked by Jrue Holiday in the final seconds, with the Celtics leading by one. While Indiana did get a final opportunity to force overtime, that’s a play Nembhard will likely want back. Game 4 is on Monday, and the Pacers could again be without Haliburton.     Advice: The Pacers are without All-NBA point guard Tyrese Haliburton, who will not play on Saturday due to a left hamstring injury. As a result, Nembhard will be the lone point guard in the starting lineup, with Sheppard moving up from the bench.     Advice: Irving didn't repeat the 30-point outing he delivered in Game 1 of the series, but he was all over the place and filled the stat sheet admirably while operating as Luka Doncic's sidekick. Irving is thriving when it matters the most for the Mavericks, and he's reached the 20-point plateau in each of his last three playoff outings while averaging 24.0 points per game in that stretch.     Kyrie Irving logged 39 minutes in Friday’s 109-108 win over Minnesota, accumulating 20 points (7-of-16 FGs, 2-of-5 FTs), four rebounds, six assists, one steal, and four 3-pointers.

    Advice: Irving had a tough night at the foul line, but that doesn’t erase the overall contributions. He was especially important during the moments when backcourt sidekick Luka Doncic was laboring through ankle and knee ailments. Irving and Doncic are the biggest reasons why Dallas returns home for Sunday’s Game 3 with a 2-0 series lead.     Advice: Nembhard extended his run of playoff performances with double-digit points to five, and he's also dished out at least five assists three times during that span.     Advice: Outside of Pascal Siakam, Nembhard was really the only other Pacer that was able to get anything going offensively in this game. He had a decent performance, but what’s more important at this point is what he may have to do in their next game. Tyrese Haliburton exited early from this game due to left leg soreness, which is obviously a huge blow to their team.     Advice: Even though Luka Doncic grabbed most of the headlines following an impressive performance in the series opener, there's no question Irving also played a pivotal role in the Mavericks' win. Irving has had a few subpar showings in the current postseason run, but he's scored 22 or more points in three of his last five appearances, so he seems to be peaking at the right time for a Dallas team that's only three wins away from a berth in the 2024 NBA Finals.     Kyrie Irving shot 12-of-23 from the field and 6-of-6 from the foul line in Wednesday’s 108-105 win over Minnesota, tallying 30 points, five rebounds, four assists, and one blocked shot in 40 minutes.

    Advice: Irving missed all three 3-point attempts in Wednesday’s series opener but was excellent in the paint. The Mavericks guard shot 8-of-13 in the paint, including 5-of-7 inside the restricted area. And after consistently getting off to slow starts during Dallas’ second-round series against Oklahoma City, Irving set the tone on Wednesday. He shot 11-of-14 from the field in the first half, scoring 24 of his 30 points.
