    • Shams: Klay officially leaving Warriors
The Athletic’s Shams Charania reports that Klay Thompson will leave the Warriors in free agency.

Advice: Shams notes that the two sides will work on sign-and-trade options. It’s not a surprising update, but we’ve finally received confirmation that Thompson will not be a Warrior after 13 seasons and four rings with the franchise that drafted him. Rotoworld 10 minutes ago
    • Staying with Clips
Harden intends to sign a two-year, $70 million contract to return to the Clippers, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Harden and the Clippers got an extension completed just minutes before free agency officially began, locking in the 34-year-old for two more seasons in LA. With Paul George hitting the open market and not expected to return, Harden should shoulder more of the offensive load in 2024-25 alongside Kawhi Leonard (knee). Last season, Harden averaged his fewest points per game (16.6) since 2010 but didn't see a downtick in efficiency, owning a 43/38/88 shooting line while still dishing out 8.5 assists. • James Harden to return to LAC on two-year deal
Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that James Harden will sign a two-year, $70 million deal to return to the Clippers.

Advice: Harden enjoyed a productive first season with the Clippers, finishing with averages of 16.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 8.5 assists, 1.1 steals, 0.8 blocks and 2.6 triples. Most of those numbers were declines in last season’s production, particularly his points, but Harden still finished as an early third-rounder in fantasy hoops. His ability to stuff the stat sheet should keep him in the third-round range for 2024-25, and he could see a bump in production if Paul George leaves in free agency. Rotoworld 18 minutes ago
    • Woj: Max Christie to ink 4-year, $32M extension
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Max Christie intends to sign a four-year, $32 million deal to remain with the Lakers.

Advice: A 2022 second-round pick out of Michigan State, Christie averaged 4.2 points and 2.1 rebounds across 14.1 minutes in 67 appearances last season. Woj notes that Christie has been a “developmental success story” for the Lakers, but that doesn’t mean he’ll be a success story for your fantasy hoops team. There’s no reason to target Christie in 2024-25 drafts. Rotoworld Today, 2:13 pm
    • Expected to sign with Lakers
Christie intends to sign a four-year, $32 million deal to remain with the Lakers, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Advice: Christie was the No. 35 overall selection in the 2022 draft, and he is seen as a potential rotation player for the club in the future. The 21-year-old's contract would include a player option in the fourth year, meaning if he impresses the first three years he could seek a larger deal moving forward. Christie averaged 4.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.9 assists across 14.1 minutes in 67 games last season. Rotowire.com Today, 2:07 pm
    • Haynes: ‘Growing optimism’ PHI signs Paul George
According to TNT’s Chris Haynes, there is “growing optimism” that Philadelphia will sign Paul George in free agency.

Advice: George’s desire for a four-year deal factored into his decision to opt out of the final season of his contract, as the Clippers have only offered three-year pacts thus far. Philadelphia has long been rumored as a potential landing spot for George, and the 76ers clearly remain interested despite reports to the contrary on June 20. George will reportedly hold meetings with the Clippers, 76ers, and Magic when free agency begins, but it’s fair to wonder if this report changes things for LA and Orlando. Rotoworld Today, 1:05 pm
    • Becoming restricted free agent
San Antonio extended Duke a qualifying offer Sunday, Jeff Garcia of KENS 5 San Antonio reports.

Advice: Duke didn't appear in a game for San Antonio last season until April despite being on a two-way contract. Still, he was a standout performer with the Spurs' G League affiliate and the Spurs will now have the option to match opposing offers. Rotowire.com Today, 7:19 am
    • To hit free agency
The Kings did not extend a qualifying offer to Edwards, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports.

Advice: Edwards is now set to become an unrestricted free agent. He made 54 appearances for the Kings in 2023-24 but didn't make much of an impact with an average of 1.7 points in 5.1 minutes per contest. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:35 pm
    • To become free agent
The Pistons declined Umude's (ankle) team option for the 2024-25 season Saturday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.

Advice: Umude missed the end of the 2023-24 season with a hairline fracture in his ankle, and a timetable isn't currently known. Umude will now have to test the open market as a free agent after making 24 appearances with the Pistons last season with averages of 5.3 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.0 three-pointers.
