    • Enters free agency but could return
The Thunder declined Wiggins' $2 million team option Saturday, but the team is expected to offer the 25-year-old a long-term deal, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Wiggins' efficiency was through the roof last season, during which he posted a career-high 56.2 percent from the field in his third year with OKC. The 25-year-old is expected to be brought back on a long-term deal with the Thunder once free agency officially opens in July. By doing this, the Thunder allow themselves to spend $30 million before hopefully re-signing both Isaiah Joe and Wiggins. In a career-high 78 regular-season appearances last year, Wiggins averaged 6.9 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 0.7 steals across 15.7 minutes per game. Rotowire.com 22 minutes ago
    • Thunder decline team option
The Thunder declined Joe's $2.1 million team option Saturday, but the team is expected to work with the 24-year-old on a long-term deal, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Joe proved to be a solid contributor in his second season with the Thunder, during which he averaged 8.2 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists across 18.5 minutes. The 24-year-old also got the starting nod in the team's final two playoff games, and he is expected to return on a long-term deal that will be agreed upon when free agency opens in July. By doing this, the Thunder allow themselves to spend $30 million before hopefully re-signing both Joe and Aaron Wiggins. Joe has produced his two best years with OKC, and has expanded his range to the point where he averaged a career-high 41.6 percent from deep in 2023-24. Rotowire.com 29 minutes ago
    • Not likely to play in Summer League
Coach Mark Daigneault said Saturday that Wallace is not likely to suit up for the Thunder during Summer League, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.

Advice: Wallace had a great rookie season on a stacked roster, appearing in 82 regular-season games for the Thunder. The 20-year-old averaged 6.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.9 steals across 20.6 minutes per game. While Wallace had a productive rookie season, it is slightly surprising the team wouldn't want the young guard to pick up extra reps during the offseason in Summer League. Rotowire.com 43 minutes ago
    • Option picked up by club
The Rockets exercised Tate's (ankle) $7.57 million team option for 2024-25 on Saturday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Advice: Houston's decision to retain Tate is somewhat surprising given that he looked to be a fringe rotation player toward the end of the 2023-24 season before he was shut down in April with a right ankle sprain. However, the 28-year-old brings value in his ability to defend multiple positions and is comfortable taking on a lower-usage role, which makes him an ideal fit next to higher-priority offensive options such as Fred VanVleet, Jalen Green, Jabari Smith and Alperen Sengun. He should be fully recovered from the ankle sprain well in advance of training camp -- if he's not healthy already -- and depending on what the complexion of the Houston roster looks like in the aftermath of the offseason, Tate could resurface as a more consistent part of head coach Ime Udoka's rotation. • Report: Pistons to waive Troy Brown Jr.
James Edwards III of The Athletic reports that the Pistons will waive Troy Brown Jr.

Advice: The Pistons faced a June 30 deadline to decide whether or not to guarantee Brown’s contract for next season. The decision to waive the 2018 first-round pick frees up approximately $4 million in cap space, and the decision to move on from Brown means even more playing time should be available to lottery pick Ron Holland. Brown appeared in 22 games for the Pistons after being acquired from Minnesota, averaging 4.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 0.7 steals in 19.0 minutes Rotoworld Today, 11:58 am
    • Cut loose by Detroit
The Pistons will waive Brown on Saturday, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Brown's $4 million salary for the 2024-25 season would have become fully guaranteed if he remained on the roster by Sunday, and the Pistons weren't interested in keeping him around at that price. The 24-year-old forward has bounced around with five teams over the past four seasons and will now be seeking out a new home in free agency. After being acquired via trade with the Timberwolves in February, Brown averaged 4.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists across 19.0 minutes in 22 appearances for the Pistons. • Stays in Atlanta
The Hawks exercised Mathews' $2.23 million team option for the 2024-25 season Saturday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.

Advice: In his first full season with Atlanta in 2023-24, Mathews averaged 4.9 points, 1.4 rebounds, 1.3 three-pointers and 0.6 assists across 15.0 minutes in 66 regular-season games. While he doesn't project to see a major increase in playing time heading into Year 2 in Atlanta, Mathews' perimeter-shooting skills make him a valuable reserve. He connected on 44 percent of his attempts from downtown last season. Rotowire.com Today, 10:55 am
    • Report: ATL exercise Garrison Mathews team option
According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, the Hawks have picked up Garrison Mathews’ option for the 2024-25 season.

Advice: After shooting a career-high 44.0% from three last season, Mathews’ option has been picked up by the Hawks. While Atlanta has added Zaccharie Risacher (draft) and Dyson Daniels (reported trade) this week, Mathews’ 3-point shooting ability will allow him to earn rotation minutes next season. However, he only played 15.0 minutes per game last season, so fantasy managers should not consider him a “must-draft” player in most leagues. Rotoworld Today, 10:52 am
    • Sticking around in Phoenix
O'Neale is expected to sign a four-year, $44 million deal to return to the Suns when free agency officially opens July 6, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Advice: The Suns acquired O'Neale on Feb. 8, and he averaged 8.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 0.9 steals across 25.0 minutes in 30 regular-season games for the team. The 31-year-old also shot an efficient 37.6 percent from deep in that span. Even with Phoenix fizzling out in the playoffs with a first-round exit and the team having since replaced Frank Vogel as head coach with Mike Budenholzer, O'Neale is still viewed as a core rotational piece for the club heading into 2024-25.
