  • Emmanuel Mudiay tweaked his ankle
Updating a previous item, Emmanuel Mudiay (ankle, out for Thursday) tweaked his ankle on Wednesday and was ruled out after pre-game warmups on Thursday.

Advice: He is day-to-day for now. The Nuggets have been flat-out awful with Mudiay on the court in their last five, positing a net rating of -30.2 in those 126 minutes. Meanwhile, they were +12.6 in the minutes he wasn't on the court in that span. The Nuggets put Nikola Jokic (wrist) and Jamal Murray (quad) on the injury report for basically nothing, so this is still a strange report. Jameer Nelson should handle a ton of minutes while Jamal Murray also gets a bump. Rotoworld.com 54 minutes ago
  • Emmanuel Mudiay (ankle) out for Thursday
Emmanuel Mudiay (right ankle sprain) will not play against the Wizards on Thursday night.

Advice: Wow. Mudiay did not appear to be hurt on Wednesday and was benched after just 18 minutes of action. This is one of those head-scratching injuries and comes just after coach Mike Malone said a lineup change could be coming. He also wasn't on the injury report this morning. Mudiay is a drop candidate in nine-category leagues. With him out, Jameer Nelson gets a massive boost while Jamal Murray should play some point guard minutes. Rotoworld.com Today, 2:46 pm
  • Ian Mahinmi (knee) out for Thursday
Ian Mahinmi (knee) will not play against the Nuggets on Thursday.

Advice: This signing is not going well for the Wizards so far with Mahinmi getting just 14 minutes in his one game this season. Rotoworld.com Today, 2:32 pm
  • The Brooklyn Nets sign Spencer Dinwiddie
    Nets sign G Spencer Dinwiddie.

Advice: He was an interesting prospect in the 2014 draft, but the ACL tear caused him to slide to the second round. Dinwiddie did turn some heads with the Bulls in the preseason and even had a 19-point game. He also took some minutes away from Reggie Jackson at times last season. All that said, he may not get minutes. Rotoworld.com Today, 1:25 pm
  • Nick Young back at practice on Thursday
Nick Young (calf) practiced on Thursday and remains out for Friday against the Suns.

Advice: There was a report on Wednesday saying Young is targeting a return on Monday night, so going through practice today makes it seem possible. Young's initial timetable was expected to keep him out to the second half of December for his calf strain. He was putting up top-100 value before his injury, so he may be worth a pickup now. Although, his start does seem slightly unsustainable. Rotoworld.com Today, 12:59 pm

  • Shaun Livingston (rest) will not play vs. UTA
Shaun Livingston (rest) will not play against the Jazz on Thursday night.

Advice: The Warriors haven't announced any other players sitting tonight, so perhaps everyone else will be a go. Livingston has played 17.3 minutes per game on the season as the backup point guard behind Stephen Curry. Those minutes should be going to Ian Clark and Patrick McCaw, so both of those guys could be a factor tonight in a possible blowout. Rotoworld.com Today, 12:03 pm
  • Rodney McGruder (ankle) questionable Friday
Rodney McGruder (ankle) is questionable for Friday's game vs. Cleveland.

Advice: The Heat will only have eight available players if McGruder sits, but he already vowed to play Friday. He's played 31 or more minutes in four straight games, but he's just a low-end punt in DFS until the Heat get some bodies back. Rotoworld.com Today, 11:00 am
  • Luke Babbitt (hip) ruled out for Friday
Luke Babbitt (hip) has been ruled out for Friday's game vs. the Cavaliers.

Advice: Dion Waiters (groin), Justise Winslow (wrist), James Johnson (rotator cuff) and Josh Richardson (ankle, wrist) were already ruled out, meaning Josh McRoberts will once again get the bulk of the PF minutes on Friday. Rotoworld.com Today, 10:56 am

  • Doug McDermott (concussion) says he will play
Doug McDermott (concussion) said he will play on Thursday vs. the Spurs.

Advice: He's been practicing in the D-League to get his conditioning back up, but the Bulls will "watch him closely" even though he doesn't have a minutes limit. McDermott averaged 10.6 points, 1.3 assists and 0.9 triples per contest prior to the concussion, so he's not an add in standard leagues. His return could take a handful of minutes away from Denzel Valentine, Isaiah Canaan and maybe even Nikola Mirotic. Rotoworld.com Today, 10:12 am
  • Ian Mahinmi (knee) questionable for Thursday
Ian Mahinmi (knee) is questionable for Thursday's game vs. Denver.

Advice: He reportedly went through portions of the morning shootaround, so we know he's getting closer. The Wizards have every reason to bring him along slowly, so his minutes will be limited if he's able to play Thursday. Leave him on the wire while Marcin Gortat is healthy. Rotoworld.com Today, 10:01 am
  • Lorenzo Brown signs in China
Lorenzo Brown signed a deal to play for the Zhejiang Golden Bulls in China.

Advice: Brown was competing for a roster spot in Detroit, but he lost his battle with Ray McCallum for the third-string PG role in training camp. Rotoworld.com Today, 7:16 am

  • Brandon Jennings starts w/ Rose (back) out
Brandon Jennings started in place of Derrick Rose (sore lower back) on Wednesday, posting 16 points, four rebounds, three assists and one 3-pointer in 31 minutes.

Advice: This was Rose's first DNP of the season and it's unclear how long he'll be sidelined, though an MRI came back clean and he's listed as day-to-day. Jennings can be found on most 12-team waiver wires, so owners in need of a cheap PG should keep him in mind for temporary value. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:40 pm
  • Dragan Bender doesn't score
Dragan Bender did not score in 11 minutes against the Pacers on Wednesday, but he had three rebounds and one steal.

Advice: The Suns continue to give Bender a look in the rotation. He's played seven games in a row, but has been very quiet on the stat sheet with 3.2 points per game on the year. Before the game, coach Earl Watson said Bender has gained eight pounds of muscle since the start of the year, so we have our first in-season muscle watch in a while. Bender has very little value. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:35 pm
  • Sam Dekker bounces back w/ all-around line
Sam Dekker bounced back on Wednesday with 12 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two turnovers in 23 minutes vs. the Lakers.

Advice: The Rockets have won four straight games and Dekker's contributions are a subtle reason for their success. He's emerged as a favorite reserve of Mike D'Antoni's and if you ignore Monday's quiet game, he's averaging 12.5 points, 1.0 threes, 6.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals in his past four contests. He's a nice deep-league pickup and is even starting to gain traction in standard formats. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:29 pm
  • Marcelo Huertas gets seven dimes, five steals
Marcelo Huertas made his first NBA start vs. the Rockets on Wednesday, finishing a lopsided road loss with 10 points, seven assists, five steals, three rebounds and six turnovers in 31 minutes.

Advice: The 33-year-old point guard earned the start with both D'Angelo Russell (knee) and Jose Calderon (hamstring) out of commission tonight. Russell is targeting a return next week, but if Huertas earns a few more starts he's worth a look as a DFS and streaming option. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:25 pm
  • Salah Mejri gets in foul trouble vs. Kings
Salah Mejri played 11 minutes in a start for Andrew Bogut (knee) against the Kings on Wednesday, scoring two points with seven boards.

Advice: Foul trouble kept his minutes down tonight, which isn't a surprise against DeMarcus Cousins. Mejri should be looking at more playing time in the next week, so he may have some short-term value in 16-team leagues. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:22 pm
  • Garrett Temple fills it up in garbage time
Garrett Temple scored 17 points with three rebounds, three assists and four 3-pointers in 27 minutes against the Mavs on Thursday.

Advice: This was a garbage-time special with Temple scoring 11 points in the fourth. He has been in the rotation and he did play 14.8 minutes in the first half tonight, but his usage has been tiny all season. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:09 pm
  • Emmanuel Mudiay benched, plays 18 minutes
Emmanuel Mudiay was benched extensively in the second half of Wednesday's road loss, finishing with just six points (2-of-10 FGs, 2-of-4 FTs), two rebounds, one assist and 18 minutes.

Advice: "We have to look at everything," a frustrated Mike Malone said after the game. "We’ll look at starting groups and combinations." Jameer Nelson played point guard during the Nuggets' late run, with help from Jamal Murray, and this is the last thing Mudiay's owners wanted to hear. He averaged just 21.5 minutes in Denver's two previous games, and there are no guarantees that he'll be starting vs. John Wall and the Wizards on Thursday. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 8:24 pm
  • Rodney McGruder (ankle) vows to play Friday
Rodney McGruder (ankle) vowed to play in Friday's game vs. the Cavaliers.

Advice: McGruder injured his ankle in the second quarter, but he returned to start the second half. He said afterward that he's "fine" and will play Friday, but a player's self-assessment isn't always the most reliable. If he's ruled out, the already short-handed Heat will have to get very creative to field a competitive lineup. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:39 pm
  • Salah Mejri will start against the Kings
Salah Mejri will start against the Kings on Wednesday night.

Advice: It'll be his third start of the season. Andrew Bogut (knee) is going to miss several games and at least 10 days, so Mejri is going to get some run. He played 29.5 minutes per game in his previous starts, so he may be on the radar as a short-term pickup in deeper leagues. Dwight Powell also benefits in a big way tonight. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 5:28 pm
  • Huertas moving to the bench
Marcelo Huertas will start against the Rockets on Wednesday.

Advice: He played a season-high 18 minutes off the bench on Monday night and could get over 20 tonight. Huertas has made just 29.2 percent from the field on the season, but his 2.7 dimes in 9.8 minutes per outing could be noteworthy. There's no need to add him almost anywhere and he remains a very risky DFS punt. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 4:58 pm
  • Brandon Jennings will start Wednesday vs. CLE
Brandon Jennings will move into the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cavs, with Derrick Rose (back) unavailable.

Advice: Per-36 minutes this season, Jennings is averaging 11.6 points, 8.6 dimes, 4.4 boards, 1.7 steals and 1.7 triples per contest, so he's certainly on the radar as a potential DFS punt play or streamer option with a favorable matchup against the Cavs.Daily Slant: At or near minimum price across the DFS industry, Jennings is a viable punt play in any format. He should see upwards of 27-29 minutes with upside to clear 30+, and although he'll see more run with ball-dominant players Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis, Jennings' ceiling remains very high with big playing time. Punting the PG spots with a Jennings/Marcus Smart duo makes it easier to afford guys like Harden, Cousins and Durant. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 3:17 pm
  • Doug McDermott recalled on Wednesday
The Bulls have recalled Doug McDermott, R.J. Hunter and Paul Zipser from the D-League.

Advice: McDermott has been practicing with the D-League team to help him get up to speed. Assuming everything went well, he could play against the Spurs on Thursday. McBuckets is still only worth a look in deep leagues. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 1:25 pm
  • Salah Mejri listed as probable starter
Salah Mejri is listed as the probable starter for Wednesday against the Kings.

Advice: This is the expected move with Andrew Bogut (knee) out and going against DeMarcus Cousins. Mejri has played 29.5 minutes per start, averaging 5.5 points, 11.0 boards, 1.0 blocks and 2.5 steals. While he does get a nice bump for fantasy purposes, Dwight Powell should also get a huge bump off the bench. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 12:41 pm
  • Nick Young (calf) targeting Monday night
Nick Young (calf) is targeting a return on Monday night, according to Mark Medina of the Orange County Register.

Advice: It's worth mentioning this report adds the Lakers downplayed that target date. Young surprisingly traveled with the team to Houston for tonight, and has been going through some pool exercise and light shooting. It's possible Young is back for Monday, but it seems slightly doubtful. There will be more minutes for Marcelo Huertas, Brandon Ingram and Luol Deng. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 11:37 am
    Injured

  • Nick Young (calf) limited to light shooting
Nick Young (calf) is still being limited to light shooting.

Advice: Young is unable to make hard cuts or get around screens, which is to be expected given that he just hit the beginning of Week-2 of his initial 2-4 week timetable. He's out for Wednesday's game against the Rockets, and it seems unlikely that he'll be able to play Friday vs. Phoenix, meaning Jordan Clarkson, Lou Williams and Brandon Ingram will continue to soak up the backcourt minutes in Los Angeles. He does hope to return to a full practice on Saturday, so we'll be watching for that. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:14 am
    Injured

  • Luke Babbitt (hip) out Wednesday vs. Atlanta
Luke Babbitt (strained right hip flexor) will not play Wednesday vs. the Hawks.

Advice: Miami will again be without Dion Waiters (groin), Justise Winslow (wrist), James Johnson (rotator cuff) and Josh Richardson (ankle, wrist), so Goran Dragic and Hassan Whiteside should again dominate the offensive possessions with Tyler Johnson and Wayne Ellington also seeing some increased opportunity. Babbitt is not traveling with the team, so he'll miss Friday and Saturday's game as well. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:00 am
    Injured

  • Doug McDermott (concussion) could play Thurs?
Doug McDermott (concussion) got in two full practices with Chicago's D-League affiliate, and he could return to action Thursday vs. the Spurs.

Advice: McDermott is only averaging 10.6 points, 1.3 assists and 0.9 triples per contest this season, so he's not worth owning in most leagues. Once he's fully up to speed, he'll likely take away some minutes from Denzel Valentine and Isaiah Canaan, but that really doesn't mean all that much. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 3:23 pm
  • Luke Babbitt (hip) out Tuesday vs. the Knicks
Luke Babbitt (hip) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Knicks.

Advice: Dion Waiters (groin), Justise Winslow (wrist), James Johnson (rotator cuff) and Josh Richardson (ankle, wrist) will join Babbitt on the sidelines on Tuesday, leaving Miami with just nine healthy players for tonight's game. Goran Dragic, Tyler Johnson and Hassan Whiteside will dominate the offensive possessions tonight, and guys like Derrick Williams and Rodney McGruder are viable punt play options in DFS. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 2:59 pm
    Injured

  • Ian Mahinmi (knee) ruled out for Tuesday
Ian Mahinmi (knee) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Magic.

Advice: Mahinmi has only managed to suit up for one game this season, and Tuesday will be his fifth consecutive game on the sidelines. In other words, he belongs on the waiver wire everywhere. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 2:23 pm
  • Nick Young shooting post-practice jumpers
Nick Young (right calf) was spotted getting up some shots following Tuesday's practice.

Advice: Young is nearing the conclusion of Week-1 of his initial 2-4 week timetable, so while this is a minor step in the right direction, he's still not close to making a return. He's not really worth hanging onto if you don't have an IR-spot, and it'll be Lou Williams, Jordan Clarkson and Brandon Ingram picking up some extra minutes in his absence. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 12:05 pm
    Injured

  • Ian Mahinmi (knee) questionable for Tuesday
Ian Mahinmi (knee) is questionable to play Tuesday vs. Orlando.

Advice: Mahinmi has missed four straight games due to a knee issue. He has appeared in just one game this season, and shouldn't be owned in standard fantasy leagues. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 9:37 am
  • Sam Dekker cools off on Monday
Sam Dekker had five points, four rebounds, a steal and a 3-pointer on 2-of-5 shooting in just 18 minuets on Monday.

Advice: Dekker was rolling, scoring a career-high 17 on Friday and hitting double figures in three straight games coming into this one. He looked much more like Sam Dekker tonight, and if you picked him up recently, it's not a bad idea to peruse the waiver wire tonight and see if there's a more consistent option out there. Rotoworld.com Monday, 9:00 pm
  • Emmanuel Mudiay hits 1-of-6 shots in win
Emmanuel Mudiay hit just 1-of-6 shots for four points, zero assists and three turnovers in Monday's win over the Sixers.

Advice: Jammer Nelson had seven points, five boards, four assists and five steals in 30 minutes, and Jamal Murray caught fire for 22 points and three 3-pointers tonight. Mudiay is still the starter, while Nelson's arrow is pointing down and Murray is highly unpredictable. This was his third game of the season without an assist and one of his lowest scoring games of the year. He should bounce back, but is far from an elite point guard option. Rotoworld.com Monday, 7:16 pm
  • Luke Babbitt (hip) questionable Tuesday
Luke Babbitt (hip) is questionable for Tuesday's game vs. the Knicks.

Advice: He made it through a limited practice on Monday, so his injury may not be as bad as initially believed. James Johnson (shoulder) is the newest addition to the injury report and will not play, so Babbitt could see plenty of minutes if he's available. Even if he does play, he won't be a great fantasy option. Rotoworld.com Monday, 10:44 am
    Injured

  • McDermott (concussion) assigned to NBADL
Doug McDermott (concussion) has been assigned to the NBA D-League.

Advice: It's simply the next step in his rehab after he was recently cleared for contact. It sounds like McBuckets could return within the week, but he's only a stash in deeper leagues if you're desperate for 3-pointers. Rotoworld.com Monday, 9:46 am
  • Brandon Jennings scores 19 points Sunday
Brandon Jennings came off the bench on Sunday with 19 points on 5-of-7 FGs and 7-of-7 FTs, adding three assists, one rebound and two 3-pointers in 26 minutes.

Advice: Jennings' contributions were crucial for New York tonight, but they're not enough to alter his outlook in most fantasy leagues. He made two triples against a Kings team that gives up the third-most per game (10.4), he hasn't scored double-digit points in consecutive games since Nov. 1-2, and he's committed four turnovers in three straight games. Leave him on the wire in most 12-team leagues. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 7:28 pm
  • Ian Mahinmi (knee) ruled out for Monday
Ian Mahinmi (knee) will not play on Monday vs. the Nets.

Advice: This will be his fourth game in a row on the shelf. This is not the same knee that he had offseason surgery on, but the Wizards are going to play it safe with their $64 million backup center. He was able to practice Sunday, so he's considered day-to-day. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 10:37 am
  • Rodney McGruder scores seven in 39 minutes
Rodney McGruder scored seven points with four rebounds, two assists and one 3-pointer in 39 minutes against the Blazers on Saturday.

Advice: The Heat need wings in the worst way, so McGruder may have the best opportunity for playing time in the NBA. Even with 34.4 minutes per game over his last five, McGruder averaged 8.2 points, 5.0 boards, 1.2 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.0 treys. He's worth a look as a desperation play with four games coming up. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 10:00 pm
  • Emmanuel Mudiay plays just 22 minutes
Emmanuel Mudiay played just 22 minutes on Saturday, finishing with 12 points, three rebounds, zero assists, one steal and two 3-pointers.

Advice: Coach Mike Malone is freaking out about his team's defense and the Nuggets have lost five of their last six games. It's possible that Malone benched EM due to defense, but he's still clearly the team's starting point guard. He's not injured and owners just have to hope that he'll be back up to his normal 30 minutes in his next game. Saturday marked the second time this season he didn't have an assist, but he's still averaging 12.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.4 3-pointers on 37 percent shooting over his last five games. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 9:18 pm
  • Marcelo Huertas gets in the rotation
Marcelo Huertas played 14 minutes against the Grizzlies on Saturday with two points, two rebounds, seven assists, one steal and two turnovers.

Advice: Well, the Lakers are running out of point guards. D'Angelo Russell (knee) is still out and Jose Calderon (hamstring) went down tonight. Considering Calderon's injury history, he's likely out for several games. Huertas would be a candidate to start and could see minutes in the low 20s until Russell comes back. He's only worth a look in deep leagues for now. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 8:59 pm
  • Doug McDermott getting better
Coach Fred Hoiberg said Doug McDermott (concussion) has been cleared for contact.

Advice: He will practice with the D-League Windy City Bulls on Monday and Tuesday, if no setback. McDermott will likely be out for a couple more games due to suffering two concussions last month. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 4:11 pm
  • Nick Young out of the walking boot
Nick Young (calf) is out of his walking boot.

Advice: There's no word of his progressions on his strained calf, so he is still expected to miss the next 1.5-3.5 weeks. With Young out, it's been Brandon Ingram moving over the the two while the other guards have seen a few more minutes. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 3:39 pm
    Injured

  • Luke Babbitt (hip) not expected to play
Luke Babbitt (hip) is not expected to play and is only available for emergency situations against the Blazers on Saturday.

Advice: In other words, he's out. Babbitt could miss two weeks due to his hip injury from Thursday night. He also may not have many minutes available once he's back with James Johnson outplaying him and it's possible Justise Winslow (wrist) is back. For tonight, Johnson, Derrick Williams and Wayne Ellington should get some additional run. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 11:43 am
    Injured

  • Inspectah Dek: Sam Dekker scores 17 points
Sam Dekker scored a career-high 17 points against the Nuggets on Friday, adding four rebounds, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer in 28 minutes.

Advice: It was a fantastic game for Dekker, who was already playing the best ball of his career coming into this game. He played clutch minutes against the Warriors on Thursday and is fitting right in for coach Mike D'Antoni with minutes at both forward spots. With Trevor Ariza (back) going down tonight, Dekker is a speculative add in competitive leagues. Rotoworld.com Friday, 11:27 pm
  • Emmanuel Mudiay struggles vs. Houston
Emmanuel Mudiay made 3-of-12 from the field for nine points against the Rockets on Friday, adding three rebounds, six assists and one 3-pointer in 29 minutes.

Advice: With Will Barton back in the mix, that means Mudiay will now have more pressure on him, as well. With Jameer Nelson playing well and the shooting guard minutes looking very full with Barton and Jamal Murray, Nelson could take some minutes from Mudiay. That's especially the case when the Nuggets are trailing in the second half. He's a headache to own in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Friday, 11:02 pm
  • Brandon Jennings only gets 19 minutes
Brandon Jennings scored two points with three rebounds, eight assists and four turnovers in 19 minutes against the Wolves on Friday.

Advice: Derrick Rose and Justin Holiday were both in a good groove, so the minutes were not there for Jennings tonight like they were on Wednesday. Obviously Rose isn't going to be on his game every night, so Jennings will see better days. Still, he's more of a desperate asset for a PG-needy owner in standard leagues. Rotoworld.com Friday, 8:56 pm
  • Luke Babbitt (hip) questionable Saturday
Luke Babbitt (hip) is questionable for Saturday's game vs. the Blazers.

Advice: Coach Erik Spoelstra isn't expecting him to play, so he's probably closer to doubtful. Derrick Williams (back) is also questionable, so we should see a lot of James Johnson and Josh McRoberts. Rotoworld.com Friday, 7:01 pm
    Injured

  • Ian Mahinmi (knee) will not play Friday
Ian Mahinmi (knee) will not play Friday night vs. the Spurs.

Advice: Mahinmi has appeared in just one game this season and holds no fantasy value. Jason Smith should see a few additional minutes. Rotoworld.com Friday, 10:03 am
  • Doug McDermott (concussion) out Fri. and Sat.
Doug McDermott (concussion) has been ruled out for Friday night vs. the Cavs and Saturday night in Dallas.

Advice: The Bulls are hopeful McDermott will be cleared for contact on Friday. However, coach Fred Hoiberg wants to see him get a couple workouts in before being cleared for a game. Isaiah Canaan and Nikola Mirotic have been the biggest beneficiaries of McDermott's absence and should continue to see increased workloads this weekend. Rotoworld.com Friday, 9:21 am
  • Luke Babbitt dealing with a hip-flexor strain
Luke Babbitt is dealing with a hip-flexor strain but did fly to Portland and expected to remain with the team until their Sunday flight back to Miami.

Advice: Babbit left Thursday’s game with 4:07 left in the second quarter and did not return. Coach Spoelstra said Babbitt's injury is similar to the one that will have Dion Waiters out for at least two weeks. "Probably a little bit similar to Dion," he acknowledged after Thursday night's game. "We'll find out more. But it's a hip-flexor strain. It's not a contusion. So we'll evaluate him." Wayne Ellington started the second half in place of Babbitt, and would see an increase in minutes if Babbitt misses time. Rotoworld.com Friday, 7:21 am
    Injured

  • Sam Dekker gets 26 minutes vs. Warriors
Sam Dekker played 26 minutes against the Warriors on Thursday with 11 points, eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and two 3-pointers.

Advice: He played a team-high 11.9 minutes in the fourth quarter and saw 4.8 minutes in the two overtime frames, so clearly coach Mike D'Antoni trusts Dekker with important minutes. Dekker is coming off a 27-minute game against the Jazz, but some of that is due to garbage time. That said, he does appear to be a guy who could be close to 20 minutes per night. With how many treys the Rockets take and the tempo leading to some steals, Dekker is on the radar in deeper leagues. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 11:40 pm
  • Luke Babbit (hip) ruled out
Luke Babbit will miss the remainder of Thursday’s game against the Jazz with a hip flexor.

Advice: Babbit left Thursday’s game with 4:07 left in the half and will not return. If he misses an extensive amount of time, Wayne Ellington and James Johnson, who have been hot, should see an increased role, while Derrick Williams could also get back into the rotation. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 7:20 pm
    Injured

  • Luke Babbit (back) goes to locker room
Luke Babbit left Thursday’s game against the Jazz with 4:07 left in the half due to back tightness.

Advice: Babbit headed to the locker room after tweaking his back and is questionable to return. He played seven minutes, scoring one point and one steal. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 6:57 pm
    Injured

  • Salah Mejri gets 27 minutes in start
Salah Mejri played 27 minutes against the Hornets on Thursday with three points, 11 rebounds, one steal and one block.

Advice: Andrew Bogut (rest) did not play while Dirk Nowitzki (Achilles) is still out, so there were heavy center minutes up for grabs. The Mavs were being careful with Mejri earlier in the season due to some injuries, but they may play him more on the nights Bogut sits. Mejri is barely in the rotation when Bogut is active, so he's only a plug-and-plug or DFS punt. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 6:43 pm
  • Heat using same starters on Thursday
The Heat will start Goran Dragic, Rodney McGruder, Luke Babbitt, Josh McRoberts and Hassan Whiteside against the Jazz on Thursday.

Advice: There is a shortage of guards in Utah tonight, so McGruder should be busy. Expect to see plenty of Wayne Ellington off the bench. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 5:19 pm
  • Salah Mejri, Dorian Finney-Smith starting
Salah Mejri will get the start on Thursday.

Advice: Andrew Bogut is getting the night off tonight, so Mejri should find himself getting minutes in the low 20s. Dwight Powell should also get some minutes in the second unit and could be a better option. Powell has really struggled lately, though. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 3:53 pm
  • Ian Mahinmi gets treatment on Thursday
Ian Mahinmi (right knee) received treatment on Thursday.

Advice: He had surgery on his left knee, so it's not an aggravation to his knee. Considering the Wizards aren't too thin, they may want to bring Mahinmi along slowly. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 12:07 pm
  • Doug McDermott out for Friday night
Doug McDermott (concussion) will not play against the Cavs on Friday.

Advice: There's not much of an update here. McDermott has still not been cleared for contact and doesn't have a target date. Isaiah Canaan has been the most consistent bench perimeter guy while Nikola Mirotic has seen some bright spots. Hopefully, McDermott can make it back next week. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 11:46 am
  • Brandon Jennings scores 12 points
Brandon Jennings played 34 minutes against the Wolves on Wednesday with 12 points, two rebounds, seven assists, two steals and two 3-pointers.

Advice: He played the entire fourth quarter while Derrick Rose played just 3.1 minutes in that frame. Jennings has seen his minutes fluctuate and only played 13 minutes on Monday. Although, Jennings could be looking at a bump in playing time if Courtney Lee (ankle) needs to miss time. He's more of a 14-team guy due to his shooting woes. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 8:54 pm
  • Ian Mahinmi (knee) out against the Thunder
Ian Mahinmi (right knee) will not play against the Thunder on Wednesday.

Advice: He did not go through shootaround and the Wizards will just be safe with Mahinmi. He had surgery on left knee, so this is something different. There will be a couple extra minutes for Jason Smith tonight. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 3:35 pm
  • Nick Young (right calf) will miss 2-4 weeks
Nick Young (strained right calf) will miss the next 2-4 weeks.

Advice: An MRI confirmed his injury, which occurred in the first quarter on Tuesday night. Young was having a very solid season with career highs in field goal percentage, free throw percentage and 3-point percentage, but now his fantasy owners probably have to cut him. While he's out, the Lakers will have to lean more on Jose Calderon and Marcelo Huertas until D'Angelo Russell (knee) can return. Both Jordan Clarkson and Lou Williams should be very busy while more shots should go to rookie Brandon Ingram. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 11:49 am

  • Doug McDermott (concussion) out Wednesday
Doug McDermott (concussion) will not suit up for Wednesday's game against the Lakers, as expected.

Advice: "Every case is individualized," Fred Hoiberg said. "You look at it based on what their symptoms are, and Doug, unfortunately has two of them in this early portion of the season, so he’s just not ready yet." He's yet to be cleared for contact, so for now, we'll be considering him doubtful for Chicago's upcoming back-to-back set Friday vs. Cleveland and Saturday vs. Dallas. • Nick Young (Achilles) out Wednesday vs. CHI
Nick Young (right Achilles) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Bulls.

Advice: The Lakers haven't yet released the results of Young's MRI, so we won't be speculating on the length of his absence until that information is made available. With Young on the sidelines Wednesday night, Jordan Clarkson will more than likely move into the starting lineup, and he'll get all the run he can handle with D'Angelo Russell (knee) also unavailable. Lou Williams should also see an uptick in value, as he won't have to share the floor with a teammate that steals his passes tonight. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 10:31 am
    Injured

  • Ian Mahinmi (knee) questionable for Wednesday
Ian Mahinmi (right knee) did not participate during shootaround, and he is being listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Thunder.

Advice: Mahinmi was also limited during Tuesday's practice, so he's probably much closer to doubtful for tonight's game. He's not worth owning anywhere, and his absence will have a negligible impact in fantasy hoops. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 10:29 am
  • Nick Young (Achilles) sporting a walking boot
Nick Young (right Achilles strain) was spotted leaving the Smoothie King Center wearing a walking boot.

Advice: Young was also able to put pressure on his foot while limping around the Lakers' locker room after Tuesday's game, and he was in high spirits, although Uncle P is eternally optimistic. He's scheduled to undergo an MRI once the Lakers arrive in Chicago, but for now, we'll be considering him doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Bulls. If he's out, Jordan Clarkson will get all the burn he can handle and Brandon Ingram will see some increased opportunity with the second unit. Stay tuned. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 8:06 am

  • Nick Young (Achilles strain) won't return
Nick Young (right Achilles strain) will not return on Tuesday vs. the Pelicans.

Advice: Young needed the help of his teammates to get back to the locker room and the Lakers ruled him out for the game after just a few minutes. Young will have an MRI on Wednesday and the Lakers will provide an update at that time. His status for Wednesday's game vs. the Bulls isn't looking great right now. Jordan Clarkson is looking at heavy minutes if Young misses additional time. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 5:25 pm

  • Nick Young goes to locker room Tuesday
Nick Young (right leg) left Tuesday's game vs. the Pelicans and went to the locker room. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 5:19 pm

  • Doug McDermott (concussion) not yet cleared
Doug McDermott (concussion) has not yet been cleared for full-contact practice, so it appears he will miss Wednesday's game vs. the Lakers.

Advice: McDermott has to be symptom-free and pass all required tests in order to progress through the league-mandated concussion protocol. He has missed six straight games, but appears to at least be headed in the right direction. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 11:14 am
  • Ian Mahinmi (knee) does not practice Tuesday
Ian Mahinmi (sore right knee) did some individual work on the side but did not practice with the team on Tuesday.

Advice: Mahinmi seems questionable at best for Wednesday night's game in OKC. He has played just 14 minutes this entire season, so this won't have significant fantasy implications, either way. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 10:34 am
  • Luke Babbitt quiet in start for Heat
Luke Babbitt started over Josh Richardson on Monday but hit just 2-of-7 shots for four points, two rebounds, one assist and a steal in 23 minutes.

Advice: Things were looking up for Richardson with Dion Waiters out tonight, but the move to the bench didn't do him any favors. As for Babbitt, he's failed to answer the call every time he's gotten an opportunity this season, so there's no reason to think about adding him in fantasy leagues. Rotoworld.com Monday, 7:53 pm
    Injured

  • Rodney McGruder scores 11 in start
Rodney McGruder started on Monday and hit 4-of-7 shots and a 3-pointer for 11 points, five rebounds, a steal and six turnovers in a season-high 38 minutes of a loss to the Celtics.

Advice: McGruder has scored in double figures in four straight games and played at least 31 minutes in all four of them. He could take a hit once Justise Winslow is finally back from his wrist injury, so he's not a must-add player right now. But if you're in a deep league and need a warm body, he may suffice. Rotoworld.com Monday, 7:46 pm
  • Doug McDermott cleared for non-contact work
Doug McDermott (concussion) has been cleared for non-contact work and shooting.

Advice: He's been out for a few weeks and still doesn't have a clear return date, but this is a step in the right direction. Prior to going down, McDermott was averaging 10.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 0.9 triples in 23.7 minutes per game, so he's only worth stashing in deeper leagues.
