    • Dealt to New Orleans
The Hawks traded Murray to the Pelicans on Friday in exchange for two future first-round picks, Dyson Daniels and Larry Nance, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Murray averaged a career-high 22.5 points, along with 6.4 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals, in 35.7 minutes across 78 games in 2023-24. However, his fit alongside Trae Young was troubling, especially on the defensive end. In New Orleans, Murray will likely return to his natural point guard spot and will be flanked on the wing by CJ McCollum and Brandon Ingram. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:48 pm
    • Shams: Hawks send Dejounte Murray to Pelicans
The Hawks have traded Dejounte Murray to the Pelicans in exchange for Larry Nance Jr., Dyson Daniels and two first round picks, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Advice: Atlanta has officially broken up the point guard duo of Trae Young and Dejounte, which means that both should be elite fantasy options this season. Dejounte’s arrival in New Orleans will take the ball out of CJ McCollum’s hands and shift him to more of an off-ball role. Plenty more can still change, as Brandon Ingram is still expected to be moved. For the Hawks, Dejounte’s departure will open up minutes for Kobe Bufkin, as well as Daniels. Nance should fill in as the backup center, and it wouldn’t be surprising if they traded Clint Capela at some point this summer. The picks they acquired are the Lakers’ first rounder next season, as well as the least favorable first rounder between the Pelicans and Bucks in 2027. This move helps the Hawks recoup some draft capital, since they gave it all up to bring Murray to town in the first place. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:46 pm
    • Set for four-year extension
Claxton intends to sign a four-year, $100 million contract extension with the Nets, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Advice: Less than 24 hours after dealing Mikal Bridges to the Knicks, Brooklyn is on the verge of locking up Claxton for four seasons. The 24-year-old started in each of his 147 appearances over the last two seasons, averaging 11.9 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.1 blocks per game in 2024. Claxton's name had been rumored in trade talks this offseason with the Nets slated for a rebuild, but for now, he's one of the franchise's cornerstones. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 4:46 pm
    • Woj: Nic Claxton intends to re-sign with Brooklyn
Nic Claxton intends to re-sign with the Nets on a four-year, $100 million deal, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Advice: The Nets may be shifting towards a tank after making two big trades on Tuesday, but they’ll retain Claxton for at least four more seasons. The athletic big should continue to be a strong fantasy asset, and he may get the chance to grow his offensive game on a tanking squad. Noah Clowney had a chance to move into the starting unit if Claxton walked, but he will still see a significant role next season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 4:38 pm
    • To sign five-year extension with NY
Anunoby (hamstring) intends to ink a five-year, $212.5 million contract extension with the Knicks, which includes a player option and trade kicker, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Advice: Anunoby's extension comes in the wake of the Knicks trading for Mikal Bridges, giving the team an excellent wing tandem heading into 2024-25. Anunoby was injured for much of his Knicks tenure last season, but he averaged 14.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks across 36.2 minutes during his 31 regular-season and playoff games, minus his five-minute final appearance in Game 7 of the second round against Indiana. His role should remain similar this upcoming season, especially with Julius Randle presumably returning healthy in addition to Bridges' addition. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 3:23 pm
    • Woj: OG Anunoby intends to re-sign with Knicks
OG Anunoby intends to re-sign with the Knicks on a five-year, $212.5 million contract, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Advice: Everything seems to be coming together for the Knicks. Less than 24 hours after trading for Mikal Bridges, they are able to bring Anunoby back on a long-term deal, giving them one of the most formidable perimeter defenses in the league. Assuming both Bridges and OG start alongside Brunson and Randle, Josh Hart and Donte DiVincenzo will likely come off the bench. New York also may struggle to bring back Isaiah Hartenstein now that they have committed so much money to Anunoby. However, they now have one of the deepest rotations in the league and still have two first round picks to add more talent. Rotoworld Wednesday, 3:18 pm
    • Giddey hopes to make life easy for new teammates
During his introductory press conference, Bulls guard Josh Giddey said his responsibility with his new team is to “make the game easy for everybody else.”

Advice: The writing was effectively on the wall for Giddey, as his role diminished during the postseason. His trade from Oklahoma City to Chicago was unsurprising, and the change of scenery may ensure the 2021 lottery pick has a marquee role moving forward. Giddey said Thunder brass wanted to move him into a backup role. While that may have increased usage, Giddey’s playing time likely would have decreased. “And I just said to [Thunder lead executive Sam Presti], at this point in my career, I’m 21 years old, it wasn’t something I was overly eager to do,” Giddey said on Tuesday. "(Presti) completely understood. Throughout the whole process, we were open and honest with each other. And I said to him, ‘Look, coming off the bench at this point in my career is not something I’m trying to do and take a reserve role.’ He got it. We worked together through the whole process. He got me to a great spot. I’m very, very excited to be here in Chicago.” Depending on what the Bulls roster looks like in the fall, the trade should raise Giddey’s fantasy ceiling after struggling with his role in Oklahoma City last season. • Report: OG Anunoby to decline player option
According to Fred Katz of The Athletic, OG Anunoby has decided to decline his player option and will be an unrestricted free agent.

Advice: The report is unsurprising, as Anunoby was due to make approximately $19.9 million in 2024-25. Acquired by the Knicks from the Raptors in late December, the 2017 first-round pick is expected to earn well over $30 million annually, whether with the Knicks or another team. Anunoby will be one of the best available players on the market when free agency opens on June 30, and he has top-50 fantasy potential regardless of where he lands. The biggest concern is availability, as he’s played 50 or fewer games in three of the last four seasons. Rotoworld Monday, 3:24 pm
    • Declines player option Monday
Anunoby (hamstring) declined his $19.9 million player option for 2024-25 on Monday and will become an unrestricted free agent, Fred Katz of The Athletic reports.

Advice: It was inevitable that Anunoby would decline his player option, as he has a reported market value of around $35 million-plus per year going into free agency, which starts June 30. The 26-year-old has proven his worth as a solid wing defender and three-point shooter, but his injury history is another factor teams will consider before making him an offer. Anunoby was traded from the Raptors to the Knicks on Dec. 30, and he averaged 14.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.7 steals, 1.5 assists and 1.0 blocks across 34.9 minutes in 23 regular-season appearances for New York.
